This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports. What a play!
Can you believe this?
No, I can't.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Off to the races and he stays on his feet.
This is gonna go the distance.
Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie and Heath.
It's mailbag time.
What's up everybody and welcome to Fantasy Football Today
presented by FedMGM, the sports book born in Vegas.
It is Friday afternoon.
Jamie Eisenberg here with me.
I am Adam Azer and we are answering your questions
via email at fantasyfootballatcbsi.com,
via Apple Podcast, via YouTube and via Fantasy Cops.
A lot of trade.
What about the pigeons?
Carrier pigeon?
No, no carrier pigeons for us today.
Trades are going down that are breaking leagues.
These people are pissed off about it, Jamie.
You got a great haircut, by the way.
You think so?
It's a little short.
Looks good.
I'll go back.
Thank you.
And I would say you're very casual today.
You're very casual, casual Friday for
you.
Yep. No HQ can be casual.
Wasn't sure about the rules with HQ because now I'm on HQ on Fridays. Heath was pretty
cash today. I had a collared shirt on. What's your general HQ rule?
I usually go collar on HQ, but from home, it's always a gamble.
The shirt I have now, I just put a collar shirt on this,
and then, you know, sweatpants, sweatpants,
sweat pant life for this guy.
All right, so I guess Roger Goodell has been talking
about doing a 16 international games
or something like that, 18 game season.
18 game season, if it's over 20 weeks,
what do you think the fantasy playoffs are gonna look like?
You think it's just gonna, we're just do weeks, what do you think the fantasy playoffs are gonna look like you think it's gonna We're just do weeks 17 18 19
Happy New Year
It's crazy
This season's gonna end it's like the super boy
Are they gonna put the Super Bowl like last week of February or something like they they wanted to be I think a lot of
people wanted to be
into
presidents weekend, right?
Yeah whenever that is. I don't know when that is. But yeah, that's fine that we'd have a
three-day weekend. We'd have finally Super Bowl Monday off. That'd be good.
Yeah it'll be, sorry honey I can't go out for Valentine's Day. Why? It's the Super Bowl.
Oh. Do you go out for Valentine's Day?
No. Yeah, no, I also like think anniversary.
I don't like, do you go out for your anniversary?
So our anniversary is right after the new year.
And so we just kind of depends on what what date falls on.
We try to do something together, you know, whether it's lunch or dinner.
Yeah, I should probably I mean, we do, but it's like whatever. It's anniversary.
Not a huge deal for me.
Adam Azer, Mr. Romance.
Yeah. We're going, we have a date tonight. I'm actually very excited about it.
Wow. Where are you going?
This is a Mexican restaurant. Love a good burrito. All right.
So let's get to the news and notes here. Tank Bigsby practiced.
If he plays, it just makes the backfield even
more sitable, right?
Yeah, it's a mess. I really don't, you know, to me this is a start all sit all game.
And T Higgins is expected to play. So I told you off the air while we were doing our CBS
Sports Network show. So it's seven times T Higgins has come back
after missing one or more games.
And he has never had 50 yards in a game coming back
from injury or any other reason he's been inactive.
Does that matter to you?
Yeah, I mean, trends are trends.
It's not an easy matchup.
So I don't think it's a slam dunk for him.
But I know for him, but I know
for me, I have like three teams where I'm thrilled to death to get T Higgins back.
So he's better than the junk I've been starting otherwise.
So he's going to be a number two receiver.
Whereas prior to his injury, he was basically, you know, creeping into number one territory
without bi-weeks.
Yeah.
I have a lot of T Higgins, one of my most roster players.
Um, I'm going to, yes. You told me to start him over Jameson Williams.
Yeah, that I would do.
But I'm not starting him over Cortland Sutton.
That I would not do.
And then how about this decision?
Oh, great.
I'm down by 34 points.
I must have played Barkley in this league.
Cedric Tillman or T Higgins.
So that's the range I will put him in.
I think we talked on CBS Sports Network.
It was,
Joanne Jennings, you asked me,
I think it was, or somebody asked, Dave, maybe.
I don't think it was.
That's the range he's in.
Yeah, I did play against Barkley.
I didn't check, I didn't have the guts to check.
I just wanted, I didn't want to know.
I didn't want to ruin my weekend
by being in a Barkley hole.
I didn't want that.
All right, so T Higgins expected to play Sunday night.
Will they have Trey Hendrickson and BJ Hill
on their defensive line?
That's a big deal, especially BJ Hill for J.K. Dobbins.
They're both questionable.
Hendrickson, you can expect to play.
Can you do me a favor before it scrolls up?
Ramon Ray just asked a question.
Is that you that's a picture of, or is that him?
Oh, that is me with my mustache.
Yeah, I thought it was you.
He has a good question here.
Why do Heath's values vary from Jamie's and Dave's
often on a substantial level?
I think Dave and I have a similar process
about how we go about ranking our players
and Heath likes to use his projections in more season long.
I was having this conversation with somebody.
Now that, oh, I know exactly what it was.
Now that Heath is coaching my son in basketball, so I was sitting with the dads,
you know I'm just dad, just hang out with dads. And they asked, one of the dads asked
like what does Heath, the guy asked, the father asked do you and Heath do the same exact thing?
And I said yes, you know we do different columns different columns, but we're on similar shows and we're both considered
just analysts at CBS Sports.
And he said, yeah, I look at your rankings and stuff
and you guys differ on how you go about it.
And I said, yeah, Heath is more of a season long,
he takes a more season long approach.
As a point, correct me if I'm wrong on that.
I think he's less swayed by matchups.
And less swayed by what just happened.
Yes.
So that's the way I explained it, you know.
Yeah.
I'll tell you what, he's been great about Matthew Stafford.
Now Stafford did, I guess, have a good game two weeks ago,
but he got lucky with that overtime touchdown.
I spoke at a high school the other day, they asked me like what were some of my best breakout
calls in my career? You know, I try to remember a few and I was trying to think like what have been
like our big calls for this year individually. Well, you were very high on Drake, Drake London,
George Pickens, Garrett Wilson. That was your thing. Yeah. And Chase Brown. Those are probably
my, the guys I felt the most confident and And I did have a lot of shares of which,
cause I liked them was Tyrone Tracy and Chris Godwin.
And when you just mentioned, you have a lot of T Higgins,
like the Chris Godwin injury ruined so many of my team.
Yeah. I had a lot of Baker Mayfield.
I would say my best call this year was Kamara.
So the whole Kamara, Ken Walker, Joe Mixon running back.
I talked about that all the time.
All right, moving on.
Rams right tackle Rob Havenstein is out
and his backup is gonna be out too.
Jalen Warren missed practice.
We're at the moment not expecting Jalen Warren.
So Najee Harris, where's he gonna end up in your rankings?
Najee will probably creep into like 22,23 in the Ramandre Stevenson range. I still don't like him to the extent of must start running back, but I like him more.
You know, so it's still a tough matchup. You hope he's going to be involved in the passing game. You know Arthur Smith will do something crazy and throw Cordero Patterson in there or something like that.
You know, to take the Jalen Moore and roll, but he's not going to have a lot of success running. And that's going to be the thing that's going to, I think, make him tough
to trust.
Let me just do this next. So week three, I think Warren barely played and then he missed
weeks four and five. So let me just take a look at Najee stats in those games. Sorry
for doing this on the spot.
It was also Justin Fields. So also Justin Fields. Yes. But Najee did have five catches
in week three. He had six targets and three catches in week four. He had two catches in
week five. He had 1813 and 14 carries in those three games. And Cordero Patterson weeks,
three, four, five missed week five. I think he got hurt in week four. He played, he had
six carries and two catches, seven touches in week three.
So minimal role there, but that's encouraging, I guess.
He had two games for Najee Harris with five or six targets
with fields, but with Warren either missing the game
or getting hurt.
Chicago will have a starting offensive tackles back
for their game against Green Bay,
but left guard Tevin Jenkins is out.
Devante Adams will play,
but left tackle Tyron Smith is out for the Jets.
Michael Pittman will play,
but left tackle Bernard Raymond is out
for the Colts in that game.
Miami cornerback Jalen Ramsey is questionable
and Dalton Kincaid is out.
Jamie said,
drop Mike Kosicki, pick up Dawson Knox.
And I did that like 15 minutes before he even told me to
say yes, you can get away from Kosicki and go with Dawson Knox if you're looking for the streamer.
Sunday you know what to do 10am on CBS Sports, on CBS Sports HQ on the CBS Sports app 10am
until kickoff.
Plenty of fantasy advice, football advice, gambling advice.
And at 1130am eastern on youtube.com slash fantasy football today we are answering all
of your starts at questions.
We do that for almost 90 minutes.
We have a good time. Check it out youtube.com slash fantasy football today we are answering all of your starts at questions we do that for almost 90 minutes we have a good time check it out youtube.com slash
fantasy football today the best way to get your line upset emails at fantasy
football at CBS I dot com that is the letter I from Scott Tyree kill or Cedric
he wrote Cedric Pittman but he meant Cedric Tillman this is one of those you
know we had this conversation I'll be. This is one of those, you know,
we had this conversation at Beyond the Box Corps on Thursday with, you know,
I was a guest with Jacob and Dan,
I encourage anybody to listen to that show
and follow those guys, they do a great job,
especially Jacob's newsletter,
about CD-LAM.
And I brought up Tyree Kill as the same example.
Like we fall into this trap all the time
as fantasy players, as fantasy analysts, as people that give advice. We could tell you 15 reasons why Cedric Tillman
is better than Tyree Kill this week and no one will listen. Well, this guy would listen.
And I still have Tyree Kill ranked above Cedric Tillman for the exact reason that I'm going to
say is there's more upside for him if he hits. But what have we seen the last three games for Cedric Tillman?
18 plus PPR points. What have we seen the last three games for Tyree Kill? Barely producing,
barely getting targets, barely getting opportunities. And so I can't bring myself to bench Tyree
Kill in most scenarios unless it's such a guaranteed situation. And I just don't know if Timon is there yet.
No, I mean, he's still Cedric Tillman, right?
He's still-
But he's got nine plus targets in three games in a row.
He scored three touchdowns in two games with Jameis Winston.
Jameis has been great for receivers.
You know, I mean, when we first
fell in love with Chris Godwin, it was not Tom Brady.
It was Jameis Winston.
That's a good point. Yeah, I'm going Tyree kill too, but it's a great question.
All right. This is from Dean.
So I'll get, just to give you an example, just to, you know, circle back. Uh, we were
talking about CD lamb and Jacob said like the list of players he's starting CD lamb
over us starting oversea lamp. Um, so he said, Joanne Jennings, he said, said your Tillman
and he said Josh Downs, even with the quarterback change, you know, just because of the situation for the
Jets and how bad they've been.
Yeah. I don't really get that, that logic with for Jacob, because I mean, it definitely,
he's used that logic before about the Jets and they can't tackle anyone. But that's for
running backs. I don't really know that I think it carries over to Josh Downs. I'm not starting Josh Downs.
Again, there were other other examples of it.
I sent Jacob a pretty insulting trade offer yesterday and he responded with a very funny
text message. I sent him Kareem Hunt for Mike Evans. I mean, it's not that insulting, but
it's a little insulting. But he wasn't having it.
He's tried twice now to get George Pickens from me
for CD Lamb and I won't do that.
Oh no.
I had a trade exchange with Robert Turbin,
former NFL running back who does our show
on CBS Sports Network on Wednesdays.
He asked me for Gus Edwards
because he's the JK Dobbins manager.
I picked up Gus Edwards the night before
and I looked at his roster, I was like,
there's nobody on his bench that I want
that has the upside of Gus if Gus hits, you know?
So like, I gotta get something in return to help me.
So I countered with Brian Thomas Jr.
and Gus Edwards from Mike Evans, who was on his bench.
And to me, that was fair.
I think I'm getting a better player. It was fair.
And he's like, no.
Okay. Yeah. That's by the way, two, eight and two teams in first and second place, Jamie
Eisenberg and Robert Turbin in the fantasy football today league. Yours truly six and
four fourth place, Dave Richard five and five. He is in sixth place and Dave and I are playing
a huge, huge matchup today and are this week. And I started out with kind of a dud from Jalen hurts and AJ
Brown. All right. A question from Dean. Hey, Gerard, Mike, Jeff and Sean, Gerard, Mike,
Jeff and Sean, young head coaches, AFC East head coaches, I believe. Start with the Sit One, Metcalfe, St. Brown, Pooka, London.
Metcalfe, St. Brown, Pooka, London, Sit One is London.
I didn't see Falcons injury reported.
Mooney practiced today?
Mooney was limited.
They ruled out like seven guys.
And Greg Alman who covers the NFC South for Fox Sports
used to cover the Bucks for the athletic guy
who went to college with.
He said he's never seen an injury report
where so many guys were ruled out on Friday.
But not Mooney.
Oh, I just got, oh, he's gonna play.
I just got a notification he's gonna play.
There we go, how about that?
Darnell Mooney's gonna play.
Okay, next up is Scott.
And Donna Martin graduates. How about that? Darnal Mooney is gonna play. Okay, next up is Scott. And Donovan graduates.
What is that?
Beverly Hills, 90210?
Yeah, baby.
All right, I'm gonna tell you something that blew my mind,
something that I found out yesterday that I tweeted,
but in case you didn't see it,
I'll tell you in a little bit.
12 team, three receiver, one flex league.
I have C.D. lamb and Tyreek Hill. I
am benching them this week to have Khalil Shakir, Cedric Tillman and Joann Jennings
in my lineup and Nick Chubb as my flex. So he is benching. I don't think I have the format
here. He's benching Hill and lamb for Shakir, Tillman, Jennings and Chubb.
I don't mind most of those players giving the upside for all of them except for Shakir.
You can make a strong case for Jennings, make a strong case for Tillman, make a strong case
for Chubb.
Shakir is tougher just because still a very good defense that he's facing.
Cooper is expected to play.
He doesn't score a lot of touchdowns. So what I would probably do is if you're concerned, whoever you're the least
concerned about out of Tyreek and CD Lamb, play that one and then bench the other and bench here.
All right. We're going to take a quick break. When we come back, I'll tell you the amazing
factoid I learned yesterday. And then we'll read more emails and get into the fantasy cops,
Apple podcasts and YouTube. We'll be right back on fantasy football today.
Oh, interrupting their playlist to talk about Defying Gravity, are we?
That's right, Newton. With the Bronco and Bronco Sport, Gravity has met its match.
Huh, maybe that apple hit me a little harder than I thought.
Yeah, you should get that checked out.

All right, everybody, we are back.
Before you start, there's no way,
because you said tweet something,
and I sent that, I made a joke about you
with the Mission Impossible trailer.
You cannot watch that and not be excited about that.
That was a cool ass trailer.
I don't think I watched the trailer.
Oh, you suck.
I'm being honest with you, I'm sorry about that.
I wanna watch the rest of them.
I just finished watching the Anna Kendrick Netflix movie
about the serial killer.
It was creepy, very creepy, very sad.
And I watched, I started watching Gangs of New York.
You ever seen that one?
I've seen parts of the Leonardo Capri.
It's so long. I have a half hour left. It's taking me a week. I
can't get I can't finish it. I'm gonna try to finish it tonight.
But yeah, I'd like to catch up on the mission impossibles. But
did you watch TGIF? Or you're too old, right? You weren't like
an Urkel full house, step by step.
A little bit of Urkel was family. Family matters. Yeah.
step by step. A little bit of Family Matters. Yeah, a little bit of that. Not like consistently. I didn't watch What's the Savage Brother one. Boy Meets World. Yeah, I didn't watch that.
I didn't really watch that one either. But the TGIF Friday Night lineup, you had Full House,
Family Matters and Step by Step. The theme songs were all written and performed by the same guy.
It's unbelievable when you listen to it and you go, oh yeah, okay, I see that now.
But I listen to that every single week for years and I never picked up on that.
And they're all like the same song basically.
Yeah.
But they're all great.
No, I grew up Thursday night on NBC.
That was like mine.
Oh, must see TV. Oh, must see TV.
Yeah, must see TV.
That was great.
That was like when my whole family, except my brother was in college or whatever, but
my whole family would get together and watch must see TV.
Can you name some of the shows that were in between Friends and Seinfeld?
In between Friends and Seinfeld?
Yeah, or in that 8 to 10 hour.
I remember a few.
No. in that eight to 10 hour. I remember a few.
No. I think you had-
I'm going back even further than that though.
Like when it was like, it might not have been,
it might not have been Thursday night though.
Like when it was, and it definitely wasn't always NBC.
So like, but like night court cheers.
Oh, okay.
That was before my time.
No, so you had Caroline in the city.
Okay.
They had the single guy.
Wasn't Frazier in there at some point too?
I don't know. That's a good question.
I don't think so.
Man, what a lineup that would have been.
But hey, all right, let's get back to football.

With like Herman's head is not Howard,
someone said Howard's head.
Herman's head was on Fox after the Simpsons.
I imagine that anybody in their 20s, the last few minutes of the show has just been absolutely
horrible for you.
You have no idea what we're talking about.
You watch the Dyson fight tonight?
What time is it going to start?
It's going to be the same thing.
I have no idea.
Yeah.
I'm not going to like turn it on at nine o'clock and watch two hours of undercard crap.
But yeah, I'd like to watch the fight if I can.
John Cavalli has an email.
I think we all agree that the quarterback
has the greatest influence on the outcome of the game,
but I don't like how a quarterback stats can be inflated
during garbage time when they're behind.
What are your thoughts on giving quarterbacks points
for a win or negative points for a loss?
Did Pete Perskoe send this one?
This is, you know, one of those things where, you know,
people who don't love fantasy get pissed off about fantasy,
you know, so PPR, look at that.
He got six catches for 20 yards.
Why should he get eight points?
You know, that's terrible.
It's just the nature of football, you know?
So I know for me, I'm a Jay and Daniels fantasy manager. I went up against Barkley in the league where I have one of the leagues where I have Daniels.
I'm like, please get a touchdown at the end.
Please give me a touchdown at the end.
Look, you get a touchdown, you get the two-point conversion, they need an onside kick to still
have a chance.
You could say Garbus time, obviously, it was a miracle to win that game or to tie it.
But that's still a competitive situation, you know?
Yeah, I got no problem with it.
But I think it's interesting to do the win-loss aspect.
I've seen leagues where they have a head coach,
where you draft a head coach,
and when that team wins, his team wins,
you get a point or whatever the scoring is,
and if the team loses, you lose points.
I don't mind that.
I think that's kind of an interesting addition,
but I don't really have any problem
with garbage time points.
I think in fact, as fantasy managers,
as fantasy analysts, we sort of
try to factor that in sometimes.
So they're gonna be playing from behind, you know,
I like the situation.
Oh, the Blake Bortles here was fantastic.
Bortles.
All right, was Fras in must-see TV?
Because people are saying that it was.
I'm not clear about that.
I don't think it was on the Thursday night.
I don't remember.
All right, this question is from Ben.
Hey, James, John, Thomas, and George.
James, John, Thomas, and George James, John, Thomas and George presidents.
Yes, they'll be watching the Super Bowl together on Presidents Day.
First off, is it worse being a Cowboys fan or a Giants fan?
Cowboys have had hope most years but never come through.
Giants rarely have any hope, but they've won two Super Bowls since I've been alive.
Yeah, it's worse being a Cowboys fan.
Being let down is worse than being apathetic
and not caring.
So you'd rather give up really any hope of the season
by week four, as opposed to we're gonna make the playoffs
but we're probably gonna lose the first one.
Only because the Giants have won two Superbowls
in the last 17 years.
If not for that, then no, then it'd be much better to be a Cowboys fan.
The other question is, week 12 is a terrible week for me with a lot of my starters on a
buy.
Would there be anyone on the waiver wire I should pick up now that would be better than
Jalen Waddle, Cade Otten?
No.
Or Jalen Warren in my flex spots.
It's hard to say not knowing the size of your league.
You know, I know you and Dave just did.
I can tell you a few players who are on his waiver wire,
if you give me a minute, but Dave and I,
because he sent a screenshot,
Dave and I just, we did a,
I keep saying me on the box score,
beat the waiver wire episode, it's on the FFT Express feed. You can also see it on youtube.com slash fantasy football today.
His league has, I can just tell you, they're not going to be a lot of running backs and
receivers that you're going to say.
Gus Edwards.
Adam Thielen, Adam Thielen to Mario Douglas, Christian Watson.
Yeah, that's, you know, hoping that Thielen plays. Douglas is not a bad call.
Watson's not a bad call.
There's not gonna be a lot.
I mean, look, there's gonna be some.
No, it's gonna be a tough week.
All right, next up we have Archer in Iowa.
Grade the trade, I get George Pickens,
Baker Mayfield, and Brock Bowers.
So I get Pickens, Mayfield, and Bowers.
I give up Malik neighbors, Sam Darnold and
Isaiah Pacheco.
B minus.
I think he upgrades at every spot. I like Pickens better than neighbors.
Do you?
Great.
I like Mayfield better than Darnold.
Great.
Bower's better than Pacheco.
Potentially. Depends on, you know, how you're looking at it.
So it's good trade either way.
Pick a tight end and a flex from these players and PPR.
Tight end is Andrews Knox Gassicki.
Andrews and a flex is Knox Gassicki, Mooney Higgins.
Mooney. No, Higgins.
I don't have a name on this one. I apologize. 12 team PPR league. I traded James Cook, Cedric Tillman, Jamison Williams, and Jordan Love. Okay. Gave up Cooks, Tillman, Jameson Williams, and Jordan love for Christian McCaffrey
and Cortland Sutton cook Tillman, Jameson love from a Caffrey and Sutton. And I will
say I do like it, but his quarterbacks now are Bo Nix and Russell Wilson. That's okay.
Okay.
All right, this is Mike.
Adam has the same taste in shirts as my son when he was six.
Yeah, I could see that.
I need RB to help.
Al Gere or Cam Akers?
So I'd probably take a chance on Ak acres with the hope of a little more work
to make sure Aaron Jones is healthy. Plus there's the chance that if they do their job,
it's a blow up. Yeah. Yeah, you're right. All right. From Lewis, Gray the trade. I traded
Devante Adams and Javante Williams for Mike Evans.
I mean, I probably like Evans more than that.
Adams moving forward.
Javante is just the guy you might be dropping in a week.
So I'll say that's a B solid B.
Yeah.
I wish we knew that Evans was playing next week. If I knew Evans were playing next week, it'd be an easy trade to make.
Yep.
This is from, uh, hold on one second. This is from.
Eric.
Gray the trade PPR trade Jonathan Taylor and Darnell Mooney for James Connor and Nico Collins.
Yeah.
Taylor and Mooney for Conor and Nico.
Be solidly.
Those are some good trades, everybody.
Way to go.
Keep it going.
Now we got some problems here, but it's nothing that the fantasy cops can't solve.
Send your emails to fantasy football at cbsidocom.com.
Fantasy cops at the subject line.
All right.
We've got a lot of these.
Oh, this trade went through and everyone's mad about
it. What do we do? So we're going to address that, but let's read this one from Derek or
D as I call it. I guess I can play two soundbites at once. I'll do a little remix. 16 years later, you figured it out. Oh. Eric.
Oh.
All right.
Derek says, I never thought I'd be the reason
I'm asking the fantasy cops a question, but here we are.
I'm in a 10 team PPR league that has a rule
against trading with eliminated teams.
I just traded Brian Thomas and Bucky Irving for Mike Evans.
The guy I traded with is three and seven
and last in points scored.
I am four and six with the most points scored.
But the last playoff spot is five and five
with three weeks left in the regular season.
So no one's been eliminated.
We've got a guy swearing up and down.
I took advantage of the three and seven guy
and it's such a bad trade.
My Brian Thomas Jr. and Bucky Irving for his Mike Evans.
I have two issues that are supported
by a couple of league mates.
One being the trade doesn't favor the Evans side.
And two, how does he get to decide
when people are eliminated?
He already said he's going to quit the league over the trade.
And if the reason it gets vetoed is him being eliminated,
I think I'm going to quit.
Who's overreacting here?
The other manager.
This is a perfectly fair trade to two teams
that are still alive and both in the same situation.
One's two games back, one's one game back.
Like there's no reason to be upset about this trade at all.
Yeah.
Bucky Irving may be better than Mike Evans
rest of season by himself.
Yep, absolutely.
There's no guarantee that that's not gonna happen.
All right, that's one down. So the next two trades are kind of similar. The next two emails
are kind of similar. It's about it. Man, we hate vetoing trades, but some of these trades are
horrible. All right. This is from Daniel. I'm in a 12-team PPR league. The second-place team
gave up DJ Moore and Michael Pittman to the last-place manager for Justin Jefferson.
to the last place manager for Justin Jefferson.
DJ Moore and Michael Pittman going from the second place team, Justin Jefferson going from the last place team
to the second place team.
This caused an uproar in the group chat in which the
majority of the league was against the trade.
While there is no evidence of collusion yet,
the commissioner offered to take it to a vote. Some of the league wanted to vote on it until the conversation fizzled out, leaving the trade. While there is no evidence of collusion yet, the commissioner offered to take it to a vote. Some of the league wanted to vote on it until the conversation fizzled out,
leaving the trade complete and in the rear view mirror. What do you think about this
trade? More in Pittman for Justin Jefferson.
I mean, it's obviously horrible. If you can't prove collusion, then it's, you know, this
is where you either can put it to a vote if you're legal also and determines
how you want to proceed.
It just this is when you hate clearly first or second place team trading with teams at
the bottom.
Yeah, without being able to prove anything like if you were to make this trade in week
two, no one would say a word.
It's true.
But oh yeah, this is such a bad trade.
It's like really hard to justify.
I think what you really need to do
is you need to make the last place team
like talk to the group chat or message board or whatever,
justify it.
Give me your reasoning.
Why on earth did you make this trade?
And if you can believe their explanation, then I guess just be fine with it. But it's tough. I don't have
great advice. We are the fantasy cops, but you know, we don't know everything.
Well, we don't want to we don't want to overreact and say collusion or kick the guy out of the
league. You know, that's at least you and I don't.
Yeah, I'm not a kicker out of.
But this is this is tough. Like I really appreciate the way I have with one of my
leagues where we have a three person committee and everybody just understands okay it's got to be
two-thirds vote and if it doesn't then we try to make make the trade work like hey throw something
else in to you know just make it so it's it's close to being even you know may not be 100
even but close to being even all right right, one more fantasy cops here.
Actually two more. So it's the same theme here from Jake.
Help us resolve this dispute.
We're in a 10 team money league
without a veto vote on trades.
Last night at 3 a.m. before waivers ran,
so I guess this was one day or Tuesday night,
the commissioner of the league traded Brandon Aubrey,
DeAndre Hopkins, Juju Smith-Schuster,
Travis Etienne, and Khalil Shakir for Travis Kelce and Joe Mixon.
The whole league is up in arms, but since there's no veto option, the trade is processed
and now we're trying to get the trade reversed.
To make matters worse, the team who traded Mixon and Kelsey instantly dropped Juju and Aubrey,
but later resigned Aubrey once they were called out
for the trade, possibly being collusion.
The commissioner is trying to defend the trade,
stating that it's a fair trade and it shouldn't be vetoed.
I am firmly against vetoing trades,
but this trade is so lopsided,
it will change the competitive balance of the league.
Should it stand or should it be reversed?
It was Aubrey, Hopkins, Juju, ETN and Shakir for Kelsey and Mixon.
I hate it. I hate it, but there's really, there's nothing, there's nothing you do.
This is just one of those things where you either vote the commissioner out for next year,
you know, and somebody else volunteers to do it because you don't trust how this went down.
You change the way that the trade policy is in your league
where it's not vetoes, but you know,
some sort of way to have it up for discussion.
And like you said, you know, the person giving up
the two top players, you probably have to defend
why they made this deal and make it sound justified.
But if there's no veto policy in place
and it is the commissioner, you know,
you just have to deal with it and then, you know, try to adjust it for next season.
Yeah, it sucks.
And I would.
No, Jamie said everything.
I'm good with that.
Let's leave it at that.
Okay, last one.
This one is from Matt from a town in central Jersey.
You've spent some time in Jersey, Jamie.
Yep.
Let's go with East Brunswick.
Is it in central Jersey?
No one knows.
Jersey is just a collection of towns.
I have no idea where any of them are,
but they're all like an hour away from me.
Okay, so the question is,
I need your help deciding the fate
of one of our league members
who committed a hyena's crime.
The league member has Nico Collins
leading up to identical, identical leading up to the Sunday night game. He was under the impression that Nico Collins would play and he put him in his lineup. When Nico was declared out,
our commissioner messaged this league member in our group chat
one and a half hours before kickoff to let him know that Nico was out and had to be removed
from his lineup or he would be at risk of setting an illegal lineup. This league member
chose to ignore this message and continue with Nico in his lineup. He claimed that he
was too upset, both because of the Nico news and because his team is in last place. This
resulted in his team losing by 15 points to the first place team, thus having ramifications
across the league contenders.
What should be his punishment for leaving Niko in his lineup?
Should we take away fab dollars from him this year, next year, make him do something embarrassing
in a public setting?
Help.
I'm all for public embarrassment, but I don't know if this warrants it, you know, there, I don't understand your
your get he's setting an illegal lineup because I guess we know
Sunday night that he was ruled out. Yeah, we did. We knew
Monday. I'm sorry. Yes. They played Sunday. We knew. Yeah.
Now, did he have someone on his bench that he could have
started? I guess right. Like you're not dropping Nico Collins
to go pick up John Metschy. Right. Like you're not dropping Nico Collins to go pick up John Metchi. Right.
So yeah, at what point could he have made a switch? You know, did he have
you know, Jameson Williams on his bench and he could have swapped in, you know,
Lions player or Dalton Schultz or something like that. So yeah, you can't punish anybody for this. This is crazy.
I think yeah, if it's really anybody for this. This is crazy.
I think, yeah, if it's really a rule, someone suggests make him shave his head.
I think that's a little harsh.
If it's really a rule that you can't start an active players and then he defied the rule
because he was upset about his fantasy team, that's pretty lame.
And I think what you need to do is you need to put something in the constitution of what
the penalty is.
And I do think losing, you know, 10 fab dollars
or whatever is a fair punishment. You can't do it this time, but put something in the
rules because look, I think that it's unfortunate that Nico didn't play. But if he was, what
I mean, okay, so we're, we're going to go into Monday night now, right? Let's just say
it's same situation with Nico Collins. Is it your job as a fantasy manager? And it might
be in the rules that if you have a questionable player for a
prime time Island game like this Sunday night, Monday night, you must
roster someone on your bench to sub in for said player.
And maybe if that's the case, then you need to have, uh, some
roster flexibility where.
My, Hey, my gay commission, my players going into Sunday night.
I got Nico Collins.
I'm not going to be around.
I need to know if I can swap men.
Okay, your your roster exemption is I will allow you to have it to pick up and have a
illegal bench, but you have to swap in that player on that same team.
So you have to carry Robert Woods.
Yeah, but then what if he goes out who gets dropped?
No one. That's what I'm saying. Like you get a roster exemption.
Oh, because why would you penalize people for having this situation?
Like, yeah, I don't. I look, I don't. I think if you're trying to avoid people like quitting and just not setting their lineup, then you have this rule that you can't start inactive players.
Right.
I wouldn't, I think you gotta give some leniency
for a Sunday night or Monday night inactive like this.
And I definitely don't think you can punish this person,
but if you wanna punish someone,
then you put it in the bylaws.
However, I don't, I agree with Jamie,
like give him a roster exemption,
but don't make it so that you've gotta be able
to have a contingency plan.
I would hate to have to drop someone that I like
to pick up Robert Woods, you know?
Or even John Metchie, who had a surprisingly great game.
I would hate to have to drop someone that I like long term
instead of just taking a shot and hoping Nico plays.
I got burned in one league.
I started Scott Fishbowl, I started Nico Collins.
I thought he was gonna play, he didn't. And I had to live with the consequences and that's my punishment.
I lost. All right. That's it for the fantasy cops and for Eric and all the other soundbites
that I can play while the fantasy cops are going like, uh, how about that? Just blowing your mind
over here. We'll be right back with your Apple Podcast questions on fantasy football today.

Finance podcasters love saying things like,
if you don't cook every single meal at home,
well, good luck retiring.
At Wealthsimple, we know that's not true.
Building wealth takes time.
You deserve to live a little while you wait. That's why we're introducing new rewards, We are back, folks.
Which side of this trade would you rather be on?
I gave somebody advice and it obviously did not work out well Thursday night.
Saquon Barkley for Justin Jefferson and James Cook.
Jefferson and Cook.
Yeah. So one of the radio shows I go on, the host texted me,
what do you think of this trade? I was like, I like it.
You know, you're getting two players, you know, two starters, two starters, one guy that's somewhat on the level of Saquon
Barkley and Jefferson.
And then he's like, so I did this show this morning.
He says, yeah, by the way, not only did Barkley have a monster game, we get this bonus for
this long touchdowns and this bonus for that.
He scored 60 points.
Oh my gosh.
60 points?
60 points. Oh my gosh. 60 points. 60 points.
People are kind of forgetting that Saquon Barkley scored
12 or fewer points and, how about this?
Fewer than 14 points in one, two, three,
four of his last seven games.
That's, that happened because you know what?
When AJ Brown plays,
he doesn't really get that many targets.
So he's obviously amazing and arguably the best player
in fantasy going forward, but he's not bus proof.
He's had four games with fewer than 14 points
in his last seven,
in case you didn't hear me say that twice.
Yep.
Okay.
By the way, I was gonna,
after that whole Snead thing with Chase,
I was gonna try to trade Chase for Jefferson straight up,
but I'm getting the heebie-jeebies on Sam Donald.
He's starting to freak me out with how poorly he's playing.
Well, it's also, look, we have two game sample size,
but Hocketson back, you know,
is gonna take some opportunities away from Jefferson.
Yeah, I think Jefferson still had nine targets last week,
but he actually has a somewhat difficult schedule upcoming.
Tennessee, Tennessee's probably not that bad, Chicago in week 12. And in this league, I need wins now fighting for a spot. So I was just like, let's just roll with chase. All right. Thank you
so much for your Apple podcast questions. Let's see how many we can get to here. This one says, dear Jared, Jameer, David and Dan.
Oh.
Jared, Jameer, David and Dan.
So it sounds like the lions, but Jared is golf.
Yeah.
I was trying to think of Jared.
And who's Dan?
Campbell.
Yeah.
I have Jayden Reed, Chuba Hubbard and Zay Flowers
in my league.
Flowers and Reed have been peeing me off.
You could have just wrote, you know, whizzing me off.
Should I try and trade those guys
for something that's more reliable?
Flowers and Jayden Reid.
And if so, what?
You're selling low, which we never want to do.
Like the time to sell Zay Flowers
would have been after the Broncos game.
You know, when he's coming off a game that, you know,
some people expected him to have and some people
didn't, you know, so, um, Reed's probably not going to bring back the value that you're
hoping for.
Now trading both of them to somebody that's, you know, maybe even starting one wide receiver
and doesn't have the value of, you know, two quality guys, because I still think they're
two quality guys.
The players you want to target in that case is
Like can you can you potentially turn those two guys Jayden?
Like would you do this trade if you need you know win now situation, right? Would you trade Jayden?
would you say Mike Evans and
Josh Downs for
Flowers and read Mike Evans and Josh Downs. Yeah
Yeah, I think and would you be comfortable getting, getting Evans and getting Evans and Downs back
only if I was like just going to start one of them.
Cause I think I'd rather have Evans Evans is the best receiver.
Yeah.
Healthy.
Healthy.
I think there's a pretty big difference now that Richardson's back between Reed and Downs
and flat reading.
I was just trying to think of somebody that's, you know, somewhat tanked out, you know,
whoever you want to throw in, Jerry Judy, Evans and Jerry Judy.
For...
For Flowers and Reed.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I probably wouldn't do that just because I think Flowers is still going to have a very
good season.
But I can see if you're frustrated.
Like that's the type of player you want to get.
Yeah, I think like you look at what T Higgins has been.
Not a not having blow up games, but pretty damn consistent.
Would you rather have Higgins or Flowers or Reed?
I'd rather have Higgins.
I guess I forgot about his 29 point game against Baltimore,
but everyone has blow up games against Baltimore.
All right, next Apple podcast question is from,
oops, sorry.
Okay, it's from Blank Game.
I'm looking to secure a more solid wide receiver too for the rest of season and Mike Evans
is on a team that may not make it to the playoffs.
What is the best and most fair trade package for Evans?
So he has Jefferson, but he has tank Dell, Marvin Harrison, Jr. James Connor, Joe Mixon,
Chase Brown, Tony Pollard, wow.
Njoku and Mark Andrews.
I would try Pollard, I would try Pollard for Evans
straight up, if that doesn't work,
I'd try Pollard and Dell for Evans.
Nothing in a tight end.
Yeah, or I'd give up one of your tight ends.
Yeah.
You've got a great team.
I think you could overpay a little bit if you have to for Evans.
The thing the thing I mean, like every Evans manager is going to be different if you're struggling right now and know that you don't have them for this week and next week. Right? We don't know that for sure. But you don't know. Yeah, he's not this week. This team is nine and one for the record.
The team that's trying to get up. Yeah, right. But Evans manager seven and two.
trying to get up. Yeah, right. But the Evans manager, seven and two.
Now he said the Evans managers on a team that may not make it to the playoffs. So you give them some help right now. Right. That's the thing.
That's these are the type of trades you're looking for with Mike Evans.
Yeah. All right. Don't yeah. Like you got a loaded team. You're nine in one.
You could overpay a little bit. Um, all right. Uh, let's see. This one says,
uh, I think that's pretty much it.
Love the show, do not love Adam's self-regard
nor his takes on anything outside of sports.
And his handle on sports is spotty at best.
Great email.
But we got five stars out of it, so thank you.
Love it.
It's like that guy, Chris, that loves me on YouTube. Is he a he a hater Chris he's a hater Jamie hate oh yeah yeah does it
everyone's got one YouTube hater yeah hey you know it keeps me in check there
you go YouTube let's let's see what you got we got one from an foe downs Swift or Jameson Williams half PPR Swift
All right
Grade this trade PPR I gave up Tyree kill and chase Brown for James Connor and Drake London
Did you make a case that chase Browns the best player in the deal right now?
You certainly could.
Yeah, I think that's fair.
Okay, you like London or Hill better rest of season?
I like London better rest of season. But you know, as I said on our Tuesday show,
with buy low sell high, prior to who's got more,
Who has more? Who has more.
Who has more that this was a good time to try and sell London.
Now I would probably look for better than Tyree kill, which is strange to say,
because tough matchup this week by next week chargers week after that,
like not an easy three game stretch of missing him for once.
Drake London. Remember the issue I had with Drake London going into the year?
Yes, couldn't separate.
No, it was the Yak.
That his Yak for catch was super low.
Yeah.
I think it's even lower this year.
And by the way, he was wide receiver 11.
For me, I liked him right after
Marvin Harrison, Chris Olave.
I think he ended up at 11, right around there.
But he's just, I've just accepted the fact that he's just a unique wide receiver.
Well, he's also, look, we don't know what, how long Cousins will be the starter there.
Will he be this good with Michael Pennings? Well, I mean, that's the funny thing is like,
I don't know the updated stats, but going into last week, Darnell Mooney had 14 plays of 20 or more yards
and Drake London had two.
Drake London is averaging 2.8 yards
after the catch per reception.
And he doesn't have an extraordinarily high ADOT.
That is so bad.
He doesn't make big plays.
He doesn't do anything after the catch,
but obviously he's good at running routes, getting open.
And he gets a ton of end zone targets.
He'll just be an interesting player to evaluate next year
because I can already see this narrative.
Well, if he doesn't get the touchdowns,
then he's gonna be a bust.
But he's just a different kind of player.
He doesn't fit the mold of what I like,
which is explosiveness,
but he still figures out a way to get it done.
It's what we liked about Michael Pittman last year too.
You know, volume, good player, uses his body,
needs a quarterback that's gonna give him opportunities,
and he's gonna make plays when he gets those opportunities.
Just curious what, his 17 game pace is 1,100 yards,
but that's with that one game that he barely played.
So we take, let's Azerstat, Drake, London,
622 yards in nine games.
That is 1175 receiving yards.
It's really not anything special in a 17 game season.
All right.
Would you start, drop, would you drop Ferguson for Dawson Knox?
Yep.
I need a wide receiver and a flex and PPR. Jamison Williams, Brian
Thomas Jr. Estimé, Pearsall, Gasicki. Jamison and Thomas Jr. Stafford or Aaron Rogers, four
point per passing touchdown. Stafford. Knox or Demarcus Robinson? Knox.
Start Myers or Lamb?
Myers.
Thoughts on MVS as a flex?
Not a bad desperation play.
Is he your favorite Saints receiver?
I want to see what happens to Cedric Wilson, but yes, he's my favorite Saints receiver.
Brian Thomas Jr. or Amari Cooper?
Amari Cooper.
Cooper is interesting.
He's going to play with a cast.
If he plays, he's going to play with a cast. If he plays,
he's gonna play with a cast on his arm. And he said it doesn't really affect him. He just
has to learn how to catch with it. Okay. I did not know that. I'll probably go Brian
Thompson. Give JK Dobbins and Devante Adams. Get Derek Henry and Xavier Worthy. So Dobbins
and for Henry. Yes, I would do that. Yeah, that's fun. Uh, Cedric Tillman or Devante Adams.
Cedric Tillman.
Um, we had this conversation on sports network with Heath and Robert.
Curious your take this point forward rest of season.
Who's the best running back fancy?
Henry.
Okay.
So Robert took Henry.
He took B John. Oh, yeah. I forgot about Bijan. For whatever reason, I was doing Bijan or I was doing Henry
and Barclay. Still gonna take Henry.
Yeah, I took McCaffrey.
Yeah, I didn't think about him either. God, that's stupid. Sorry. I just had those two
guys, Henry versus Barcl Sorry. I just had those two guys,
Henry versus Barkley.
They're all great.
Because of the Achilles thing and the fact that they played them for almost 90% of the
snaps, which I thought was reckless. I'm not going to go with McCaffrey because of the
Algiers stupid, stupid thing. I mean, he had three carries from the one and didn't get
in and then they put Bijon
in and of course he scored.
There's no guarantee that that stupid thing is not going to happen again.
Drives me crazy.
So I'm just taking it so involved in the passing game lately.
Yeah, I mean, it's awesome.
He's finally arriving.
Adam, did you chase Dan away?
No, I wish Dan were here.
Oh, by the way, Jamie, I have an announcement for you.
We're doing the mailbag Thursday night next week.
Yes.
You in?
Of course.
We'll do it after the game?
Yes.
What is the game?
Next Thursday?
Yeah.
I don't know.
Let's find out.
Let's see which game we're gonna be recapping.
Oh my God.
Pittsburgh, Cleveland. Yes.
All right. I grade the trade.
Oh, after James. Yes.
Give Camara, get Lamb and Eckler.
A plus. No, no, no. I'm sorry. F.
F plus. I have five buys next week. Who can I target for a Brian Thomas Jr. trade?
In sync.
Who could you target for a Brian Thomas trade?
I don't know who's going to want Brian Thomas right now.
They're going to buy next week too.
Right.
Oh man.
So someone, do you need to start Brian Thomas this week?
Because if not, maybe someone is on a buy right now. But who would that
be like, you're not going to get neighbors for him. I don't think
you're going to settle for one day. Yeah. Or a Panthers
receiver. Who's the fourth team on by this week? You got to
happen. You're not getting him. Tampa Bay, Carolina, the
Giants and he's on by
why can't we remember?
Zom-bye.
Why can't we remember? I don't know.
Is someone good?
Oh, Arizona.
Arizona.
You're not getting Arizona.
Yeah, it's not gonna work either.
You guys come up with a package.
Yeah.
What about Hopkins?
I guess, I mean, the only way I'm doing that with confidence is if I know Trevor Lawrence is shutting it down.
Okay. Oh, I don't know. Sorry. I thought Cooper was declared out. Nope. Kincaid and Coleman are out. Cooper's questionable.
All right. Next question here. Aloha from Hawaii. JSN, Reed, Dobbins or Tillman in PPR.
I would go Tillman, Dobbins, Reid, JSN.
Nick Chubb or Chase Brown PPR?
Chase Brown.
Mahomes or Love?
Love.
Trade Jamar Chase for Debo in Montgomery?
No.
I don't think I'd do that.
Non PPR maybe.
Someone says, well, low yak comes from not separating.
That could be just, I don't know.
London's just not like a run after the catch kind of guy.
Just like five more questions here.
Higgins or JSN?
Higgins.
Dobbins or Swift? Swift. I'll just like five more questions here. Higgins or JSN? Higgins.
Dobbins or Swift?
Swift.
How do you like Rico Dowdle's playoff schedule?
Let's go ahead and pull that up.
Rico Dowdle in weeks 15 through 17 has Carolina.
Love it.
Tampa Bay.
Love it.
Philadelphia.
Hate it.
All right, not bad.
Yep.
Nijoku or
Hawkinson and Tyree Kill or Joanne Jennings? Nijoku and I
would still go Tyree but I get it. And Cook, Downs or Shakir
in the flex? Cook. Bowers or McBride rest of season. McBride.
Kareem Hunt, Ken Walker, or David Montgomery, pick two.
The first two. And update on Coach Heath, please.
We have our first tournament starting tomorrow,
two o'clock and four o'clock.
My son informed me that the two o'clock game,
we're gonna get killed.
And then the four o'clock game,
I don't think he knows who we're playing.
So we shall see.
All right.
It'll be a fun Sunday morning for you.
You know what will be really interesting?
If our team plays Sunday morning, Heath is working.
So a the father slash, I guess, general manager of the team, guy who put everything together
for us, will be one of the coaches and guy who put everything together for us,
will be one of the coaches.
And Heath's son will be the other coach.
And Heath's son will be the technical coach
because he knows all the plays the other dad does not.
So Heath said, yeah, if we play Sunday morning,
