This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
On his way to the end zone.
I'll tell you what, that was a spectacular play.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
What a play.
Off to the races.
Touchdown.
Oh, he's done it again.
Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, Heath, and Ben.
All right, what's up, everybody?
Welcome to the Saturday Mailbag.
Adam Azer and Jamie Eisenberg.
We don't have all the time in the world,
so I'm not going to dilly-dally.
Let's get right to it.
Jamie Eisenberg, we got a lot of wide receiver injuries.
Chris Godwin's doubtful.
Kenny Galladay almost certainly not going to play.
Michael Thomas could play this week,
Monday night at the Raiders.
We've got Jamison Crowder out.
Cortland Sutton, game time decision.
Devontae Parker, game time decision.
Has anything changed for you since we last spoke?
I mean, we had a lot of this information,
but Crowder being out is a little bit different.
Anything you want to add?
A.J. Brown also ruled out.
A.J. Brown out, right.
Two things that we were kind of expecting, given the practice reports.
We'll wait to see what happens to George Kittle.
Hopefully he's going to be out there.
And Michael Thomas, I'm sure whatever they do on Saturday will determine if he can go.
Sounds like, I know that Godwin is probably going to be listed as doubtful.
The injury report, I haven't seen it yet by the time we're recording this, but there's
a chance he clears the protocol over the weekend and they're able to play him, you know, so
it's not like it's a soft tissue injury or something like that.
So he could still get out there and be able to go.
I think you're looking at,
you know,
if he's not out there some interesting replacement options,
Scott Miller is available in a lot of leagues.
He played well in week one for the bucks.
Corey Davis,
obviously a great week one game against the Broncos.
He's going to get a good matchup against Jacksonville.
He can help you as a AJ Brown replacement.
And then in that same game, Adam Humphreys,
he's going to get some targets, additional targets as well.
So we've talked about a lot of receivers throughout the week.
Russell Gage is available in a lot of leagues.
He could have a good game.
Marcos Valdez-Scantling is coming off a strong game.
He's available in several leagues still.
So there are options you could pivot to if you're stuck.
And Jack Doyle has been ruled out for the game against the
Minnesota Vikings. So hopefully that means more
targets for T.Y. Hilton and Paris
Campbell. Or maybe it's more targets for Naeem Hines
and Jonathan Taylor.
Those are two players that we really like in DFS,
especially Hines on DraftKings. Taylor
is one of my favorite plays on FanDuel.
Kyler Murray, I
love. You got any FanDuel or DraftKings quarterbacks
you like a lot this week?
I mean, I like our start of the week,
which is Ben Roethlisberger.
You know, great matchup against the Broncos.
That defense is banged up.
I think he's going to play well.
If you're looking for like the contrarian plays
or the lesser obvious guys,
now they're coming off some strong games,
but Mitchell Trubisky, you know,
against the Giants is somebody you can look at
and get some success out of.
I think a contrarian play for me would be Minshew, you know,
just because the matchup's not easy, but he's going to probably throw a lot.
It's funny.
Like when you look at the point spread and the implied total,
the game is low.
The Jaguars expected points are low.
I don't buy it.
I think they're going to be throwing a lot, chasing points.
All right, let's get to
some Apple podcast questions here.
This is from CardsFan3.
Dear Andy, Mike, Jason,
and Judge Giamatti.
I'm guessing those are
the footballers,
our friends, fantasy footballers.
I don't know who Judge Giamatti is, though.
14-team league, should I flex
Will Fuller, Zach Moss,
Preston Williams,
Anthony Miller, or Josh Kelly? Will Fuller, Zach Moss, Preston Williams, Anthony Miller, or Josh Kelly?
Will Fuller, Zach Moss, Preston Williams, Anthony Miller, or Josh Kelly?
What's the scoring?
Don't know.
If it's PPR, probably Fuller, even though I don't love the matchup.
If it's non-PPR, I may go with Moss.
Okay.
This one is from RJYH.
Dear Julio, Amari, Calvin, and Jerry. Alabama. Yeah. okay uh this one is from rj yh dear julio amari calvin and jerry uh alabama yeah 12 uh 12 team full ppr i need three uh for two wide receivers and a flex
okay davante adams is a yes so now we need one wide receiver and a flex
dj moore will fuller cooper cup, Benny Snell, James Connor,
one wide receiver in the flex.
Yep.
DJ Moore,
Will Fuller,
Cooper cup,
the Cooper cup,
and then DJ Moore,
Will Fuller,
and a Steelers running back.
James Connor.
Okay.
Rest of season questions here from Katie,
the independent Matt Stafford or ryan tannahill
i'll say stafford i think we're gonna see an extended absence for aj brown and i'm hopeful
that stafford gets golladay back next week from palumi should i trade cam newton for josh allen
yes yes you should from From No Mistake Jake.
I'm in a PPR league,
keeper league.
We keep two players from our final roster.
Regardless of when
the keepers were drafted,
they're put in the last two rounds.
I currently have Alvin Kamara
and Austin Eckler.
Should I trade Eckler
for Jonathan Taylor?
Yes.
From Kud Chris.
In PPR,
should I trade
Christian McCaffrey and DJ Chark
for Chris Godwin, Robert Woods, and J.K. Dobbins?
McCaffrey and Chark for Godwin, Woods, and Dobbins in PPR.
This is a redraft?
Yeah.
I think so.
No.
Yeah.
And you need to get a running back back,
and Dobbins is not going to cut it right now.
From Maple Syrup.
I love Maple Syrup.
Who doesn't?
Yeah.
What a hot take.
At the moment, who's the better trade value in Dynasty,
Malcolm Brown or James Robinson?
To give up or to acquire?
Who has more value?
James Robinson has more value because he could be
the Jaguar starter
for who knows how long
and Malcolm Brown
is hopefully going to be
replaced soon.
All right, so here's the deal.
I'm going to have to go
directly to iTunes
and check out the comments
because they did not update
on the webpage.
So bear with me a bit.
This is from YaBoyMuck.
He won both of his leagues
last year thanks to our guidance.
That's awesome.
Okay, who do I start at wide receiver and flex position pick two? He won both of his leagues last year thanks to our guidance. That's awesome. Okay.
Who do I start at wide receiver and flex position pick two?
Alan Lazard, TJ Hawkinson, and Deontay Johnson.
TJ Hawkinson and Deontay Johnson.
This is from 1234getthisgame. Need trade advice.
12 teams PPR.
I give up Cam Newton,
James Conner,
and Calvin Ridley.
Cam, Conner, and Ridley.
I get back Derek Henry,
DJ Moore,
and Deontay Johnson.
Cam, Conner, Ridley
for Henry Moore
and Deontay Johnson.
I would do it.
Okay.
Grade the trade from Colin O'Donnell.
Give up Will Fuller, get Odell Beckham.
Man, I had these guys ranked really close,
if you could believe that, prior to the season.
I think Beckham was like 20 for me,
and Will Fuller was in like the 27 range.
I'll still take Beckham over Fuller
just because of the injury risk that Fuller has,
which is greater than Beckham's injury risk,
which both guys were injury risk.
But man, it wouldn't surprise me if Fuller is better.
Okay, this is a big one here from Angry PD Pablo,
who says, I miss you, Benny Gretch.
Yeah, I miss Ben Gretch too.
Yeah, we all do.
Hopefully we'll hear him back on the show.
Come out as a guest.
10-team PPR Dynasty League. Would you trade Josh Jacobs, A. do. Hopefully we'll hear him back on the show. Come on as a guest. 10-team PPR Dynasty League.
Would you trade Josh Jacobs, A.J. Brown,
Paris Campbell, and Josh Kelly?
Josh Jacobs, A.J. Brown, Paris Campbell, Josh Kelly
for Miles Sanders, Boston Scott, Michael Gallup,
Devontae Parker, and Allen Robinson?
No. Yes. No Allen Robinson. No.
Yes.
No.
Yes.
No.
All right, you're giving up Jacobs.
You're getting back Sanders and Scott.
Yeah.
There's that part.
You're giving up A.J. Brown, Paris Campbell, and Josh Kelly.
You're getting back Gallup, Parker, and Allen Robinson.
That's such a win.
I mean, a huge win.
Long term, no.
Oh, it's Dynasty.
Right.
Oh, I'm sorry about that.
It's still not that bad, but okay, that does change things a little bit.
No, Devontae Parker, who knows what happens with him moving forward.
Sorry.
And Allen Robinson may be on a new team again.
Yeah, yeah.
All right, that's my bad.
Grade the trade.
Give up Chris Carson and Will Fuller.
Get Michael Thomas, PPR.
Oh, boy.
Carson and Fuller for Thomas.
Yes.
All right, grade the trade.
I didn't know I had to think about that.
Yeah.
Well, you know, somebody brought this up, right?
Like, Saquon Barkley.
And who else came back from an ankle sprain last year
and wasn't very good?
Who was it? That's a good question i don't know oh man gotta think about that saquon all right i'll
think about it i'll think about it chris carson and henry ruggs for austin eckler
chris carson and henry ruggs for austin eckler
you know the format i don't know know it. Oh, PPR.
I lied.
I know it.
I'd rather have Eckler.
From Hugo Robinson.
Evan Ingram is my starting tight end,
but I just picked up OJ Howard.
Ingram was terrible in week one. He gets the Bears, Niners, and Rams next three weeks.
Howard gets Carolina, Denver, and the Chargers.
Your thoughts?
I would still rather have Ingram
because he's not sharing with Caden Smith
the level of what Howard will eventually share with Gronk.
All right, I'll read one more here.
Grade the trade from I Swear I'm Not a Bandwagon.
I think we might have read this already,
but we'll do it again.
Standard League.
I get Ezekiel Elliott, Chris Godwin, and Evan Ingram.
Zeke, Godwin, and Ingramgram. Zeke Godwin and Ingram.
I give up Clyde Edwards-Ziller, Robert Woods, and George Kittle.
Interesting.
Very, very interesting.
I would rather have Zeke Godwin and Ingram.
Okay.
Thank you so much, everybody, for the kind words on Apple Podcasts,
for the five-star reviews, and for your questions.
We got a lot of emails to get to.
Do you remember who had the ankle sprain?
No.
Yeah, me either.
And now I'm trying to get my Fantasy Cops music queued up because
it's time for the Fantasy Cops.
Oh, here we go. We got some league disputes to settle.
Brandon from the Goodfellow Air Force Base.
Here's the scenario.
We're in a $100 entry fee salary cap league,
and I am the league manager.
I will only deny a trade if it is absolutely 100% collusion,
which I did not state during or before the trade.
Coincidentally, the first trade made
involved me, which occurred after week one. I was giving away Malcolm Brown and Marvin Jones,
and I got DJ Moore for Malcolm Brown and Marvin Jones. The gentleman who was receiving Malcolm
Brown and Marvin Jones has Adrian Peterson as his RB2, and his bench running backs are all
droppable players. So he needed a running
back, obviously. He gave up DJ Moore for
Malcolm Brown and Marvin Jones.
The problem occurred when multiple fantasy
managers vetoed the trade,
but the league settings were set and has
been set since pre-draft that the league manager,
he's saying that, the commissioner,
can only veto the trade.
Can we get your expertise on
fantasy owners or managers
having the right to alter trades for other managers?
What do you think?
This is not an example of collusion, in my opinion.
This is not an example of an egregious trade
because you're buying low on DJ Moore
and you're selling high on Malcolm Brown.
And clearly there's an example of a need for Malcolm Brown and you're getting
Marvin Jones back in return. So if DJ Moore had had a DJ Moore game,
like we're hoping he's, we're going to see more times than not, then it's,
you know,
it's hard to sell to say that a guy drafted in the first three rounds should
be traded for a late round pick or a free agent pickup and a mid round wide
receiver. But let let's let's put
the scenario this way what if kenny galladay is out for the rest of the year or six six more weeks
yeah what if dj moore is just not nearly as good as we thought he was going to be and he's got a
new coach and a new quarterback and a new coordinator and all those things so this is not
a veto veto a bull trade by any stretch okay yeah let yeah, let it go. One owner has already demanded his money back.
One guy dropped his entire team.
Yeah, come on.
This is silly.
This is silly.
You're cool, Brandon.
You have the approval
of the Fantasy Cops.
Thank you very much.
All right, time for your emails now.
Fantasyfootball at cbsi.com.
This is from Alex.
Who's your favorite TV police officer?
Of all time?
Of all time. Or police officer type person, like detective.
It's Vic Mackey of The Shield. You know that.
Vic Mackey of The Shield.
Michael Chiklis, just kicking everyone's ass for seven seasons.
Gotcha.
Yeah, it's awesome.
Who else, though?
Mine would be Michael Knight of Knight Rider.
Never seen it.
Oh, my God.
Kit is the best ever.
Who else?
Who are some other good guys?
Either that or Magnum PI, my youth.
Yeah, I never saw that either.
Tom Selleck.
Although I have learned a lot about reverse mortgages
from Tom Selleck recently.
I don't know if you've seen those commercials.
They're on.
I think you should grow a Tom Selleck mustache.
I can't.
It would have to be a Halloween costume.
No, I can't grow one.
No, it doesn't grow out like that.
No, I don't know what's wrong with me.
I can't, you know, I'm not a real person.

Please pick one to start and flex.
Will Fuller, Paris Campbell, or Deontay Johnson?
I want to say one of the two non-Will Fuller guys,
but Fuller should get more targets and hopefully be successful.
Wait, on FFT, on the video show on Friday afternoon,
I took Deontay Johnson over someone and you guys were like,
what? Was it Will Fuller?
DK Metcalf.
DK Metcalf, that's right.
From Brendan, full PPR, James Conner, Marvin Jones, or DJ Chark?
James Conner.
Really? Scary.ner. Really?
Scary.
Scary, no?
Well, I mean,
you have DJ Chark
and a tough matchup
against the Titans
would be my second choice.
And Marvin Jones
is always a wild card.
Okay.
From Angel,
I don't know if I should
stick with the Vikings
or pick another DST.
No, pick another DST.
Tampa, Arizona,
Green Bay, Miami.
I like Arizona.
It's funny because sometimes when we get upsets
and there's something so swayed in the other favor,
and in this case of Washington and Philadelphia,
everybody's just making a big deal about how bad Carson Wentz looked
in that offensive line, and nobody's talking about the fact
that the Washington football team's offense was not good.
Yeah, I know, but
I mean,
so of this list, I'm going
Tampa Bay. Because I think
they have a great defense.
And they're going to get after Carolina, you know.
Sure, no. I don't see a fault
with that. Arizona. I just
think Arizona's going to
harass Haskins and not give up a lot of points.
And listen, the Vikings DST is not what it once was. Probably not.
It might be. They could have a Tampa Bay-like resurgence with their secondary as the young
kids get better as the season goes on. Because remember, Tampa Bay's secondary was atrocious
last year. But the biggest thing for me is Daniel Hunter.
If they get him back, it shaves a half a second off the pass rush,
you know, and makes things better.
It makes Ngakwe better because he's playing opposite a great player.
So that's, I think, what you're going to hang your hat on
is, you know, what they look like when he's there.
Yeah, Ngakwe got me a big zero IDP this week.
Yeah.
All right, I don't have a name on
this one but i have a wide receiver core of calvin ridley dionte johnson alan robinson dj moore and
tyler boyd i can't start them all so should i try and trade or just keep them and rotate for
the best matchups my running backs are henry and drake so i'm not hurting there either
i mean obviously if you could trade one of those guys you want to do it um you know now
is a good time to probably shop tyler boyd after his good game thursday night because he could be
inconsistent um if you want to shop alan robinson after what should be a great game this week you
can do that as well but you know you'd rather try and flip somebody like a deontay johnson
and still keep like the the-tier guys on your team.
It's never a bad idea,
even though you have good running backs,
to do a package.
See if you can give one of those receivers,
and let's say Kenya Drake,
to get Ezekiel Elliott.
Right.
Full PPR, who to start instead of Jameson Crowder?
This is from Aldo.
LaVisca Chennault, Devontae Parker, James Robinson,
Josh Kelly, or Logan Thomas? Chennault, Devante Parker, James Robinson, Josh Kelly, or Logan Thomas?
Chennault is so interesting to me because I think they're going to get a lot of targets for him,
or certainly more targets than last week, but he's too risky.
Give me the names again.
Yeah.
Chennault, Parker, James Robinson, Josh Kelly, Logan Thomas.
PPR.
I'm going to go James Robinson.
This is from... Oh, wait.
Can I just say something?
Quick aside.
If Devontae Parker plays, and he plays well,
I kind of feel like you have to buy in.
At least as long as Fitzpatrick's the quarterback.
I would sell high.
Because of the quarterback?
And because Preston Williams is going to be a problem for him.
Yeah, but what I'm saying is, like, week one,
Devontae Parker actually was off to a pretty good start
against New England.
He caught all of his targets.
He was their leading receiver, and then he got hurt.
If he goes out...
Soft tissue injury that's been lingering for a few weeks now.
Quarterback change coming.
More talented players on the field.
There's just a lot of things stacking up against them.
I would say more talented player on the field.
It's not like they have a lot of guys out there.
Well, I mean, Gusecki didn't play well.
He said, you know, what is going to
prove to be two brutal matchups back-to-back weeks.
He's going to be better. And
I think two is going to be
a problem for these guys. Yeah, two is scary.
He's not going to take as many chances.
All right, I need some flex help here.
This is from Mitch.
James Conner,
Will Fuller,
Terry McLaurin.
Pick one in half PPR.
Conner,
Fuller,
McLaurin.
You know,
Dave and Heath are very confident in McLaurin.
I'm a little bit more concerned.
I just had a weird neck spasm,
Jamie.
Really hurt.
Caused you some pain.
Ow.
I'll say Conner.
What the hell?
Just really hurt.
Okay, James Conner. James Con say Conor. What the hell? That really hurt. Okay, James Conor.
James Conor it is.
Thank you, Mitch.
From jmoney85.
10 team,
full PPR. Give up Saquon Barkley.
Oh, this is the worst trade I've ever
seen.
Nah, it's not that bad.
Get James Conor
and Malcolm Brown. I also have acquired benny snell
on waivers the worst trade you have ever seen it's pretty bad up there do not do that unless
you're getting saquon barkley dion hernandez start two in ppr snell dj moore will full with dj charke and more fuller more adam from california to pat robert squid and plank
is that spongebob spongebob yeah should i give up anthony miller to get Debo Samuel. Ooh, interesting. Uh-huh.
No.
Okay.
From Greg,
Dear Freddie, Brian, John, and Roger.
I think that's Queen.
I'm going to look that up.
There's only like three famous Freddies.
There's Drop Dead Fred.
Wait, what are the names again?
Freddie, Brian, John, and Roger.
Freddie, Brian, John, and Roger. Freddie, Brian, John, and Roger.
Yeah.
I was going to say Freddie Mitchell if there's eagles with Brian, but no.
You didn't get my Drop Dead Fred joke?
Yes, I didn't.
This is Queen.
Have you ever seen Drop Dead Fred?
No.
Really?
No.
It's a ridiculous movie.
All right, grade the trade.
Half PPR.
Give up DK Metcalf and Malcolm Brown.
Get Jonathan Taylor.
It's really DK for Taylor, and I would do that.
I think people are doing a good job selling high on Malcolm Brown.
You have to.
You absolutely have to.
It's just one of those things where the three guys that we talked about,
Benny Snell, Naheem Hines, and Malcolm Brown.
Snell, you knew what you were getting. Could be replaced this week.
It's unfortunate that it happened. We thought
maybe Conor missed a game, but as I said,
there was a chance that Snell could win you your week.
Now he's a lottery ticket waiting to happen,
which he was prior to last week.
Naheem Hines' role is locked in.
Malcolm Brown is a placeholder.
He may be good for another couple weeks. I don't doubt
that, but eventually he's going to be replaced. Well, let's see if he's good this week. Scott may be good for another couple weeks. I don't doubt that.
But eventually, he's going to be replaced.
Well, let's see if he's good this week.
Scott, half PPR, choose one.
Malcolm Brown, Cam Akers, Sutton, Emmanuel Sanders, Darius Slayton.
It's between Malcolm Brown and Darius Slayton.
Does the format say?
Half PPR.
Half PPR.
I'm going to go Slayton.
From Aaron, I need some trade advice.
Would you accept this trade? Give up... Well, I don't know what side he's getting.
Ezekiel Elliott for
Joe Mixon and Jonathan Taylor. Oh, he has
Zeke. Give up Zeke, get Mixon
and Taylor. If you don't
have a good second running back, I'd make this deal.
But if you do, then I would not.
From Kyle, half PPR. I have
Le'Veon Bell, Chris Godwin, and Devante Parker.
Should I flex Benny Snell, Jerry Judy, or Cam Akers?
Man.
Judy, I guess.
What if Sutton plays?
Yeah, I'm counting Sutton playing.
Okay, yeah, I mean, Akers had a role.
All right, Judy it is. justice and val hello justice and val
hey brian mike dick and bill that feels bearsy it does right erlacher ditka but kiss who's bill
bill nye the sign, Bill Nye.
He's a Bears fan.
Mike Evans or DJ Moore?
Mike Evans.
Miles Sanders or Naeem Hines?
Sanders in non-PPR, Hines in PPR.
Tom Brady or Ben Roethlisberger?
Ben Roethlisberger.
And from Matt from Duval.
That's not annoying or anything jacksonville people hey
donald daffy and ducky grade the trade give up eckler and get carson and mclaurin give up eckler
get carson mclaurin didn't you ask a similar eckler question earlier probably i think it was
eckler carson and something else see if i can find it it was Eckler, Carson and something else.
See if I can find it.
It was one of your first questions.
Should I trade Eckler for Jonathan Taylor?
Um,
I think Jamie's lying right now.
No,
I think it was on the Apple podcast questions.
Hmm.
Oh,
it was like on.
Oh,
okay.
I'll look. Why don't you weigh in?
Eckler for Carson and McLaurin.
That one I would do.
Okay.
Yep.
Nobody cares about this mission that I'm on right now.
All right, Jamie.
That was it.
That was our mailbag show.
It was nice and tidy.
What else should we do for seven minutes?
Well, we did.
So for the people that are still listening to us,
this is the one and a half times that we've done this show because you forgot to record it on video.
For three minutes.
Hi, Mike. I just wanted to say hello again.
We didn't. So when we did the first part of it, we did some DFS talk. We didn't really do it this time.
Oh, yeah, we could do that. All right.
Well, listen, if you had listened to me last week, you would have won $4.
So you're welcome.
But actually, that's not true
because if you had listened to my advice,
my lineup became outdated when Miles Sanders was ruled out.
So this is all a big lie.
But I actually had a pretty good week.
I only won $4 because, you know,
it's hard to win a lot of money in that contest.
But love Jonathan Taylor this week.
Love him on fan duel
and fan duel is great i mean you can just you just get like the sickest lineups but i went with
smile sanders jonathan taylor and raheem mostard at my flex and i uh kyler murray at wide receiver
at quarterback rather and if you do that you'll have plenty of money for great great wide receivers
i went with a lot of the squeaky wheel guys so ty hilton mike evans you know things that you're
hearing uh alan robinson i think it's a good play as well um you can do a lot of good stacks this
week you know so you can stack trabisky and alan robinson if you want to very funny sentence to
say you get a lot of good stacks and then there's trabisky um i Robinson, if you want to. Very funny sentence to say. You can get a lot of good stacks.
And then there's Trubisky.
I stacked a couple lineups of Roethlisberger and Juju.
You can do that with Deontay Johnson as well.
He's cheaper, clearly, than Juju.
But Dak and any of his receivers should be fun also.
Yeah, the funny thing is I don't really feel the need to stack Kyler Murray because he runs so much.
Right.
You know?
Although, if you had stacked him last week, he'd be pretty happy.
Yeah, that would have been pretty good.
By the way, the question was,
Chris Carson and Henry Ruggs for Austin Eckler.
Right.
So, McLaurin clearly an upgrade over Ruggs.
Okay.
All right, everybody.
You tell me I'm wrong, mister.
What is that?
You said I was wrong.
I didn't say you were wrong.
I said you were lying.
Oh, lying.
Well, that's wrong.
