This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
No, I can't.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
This is going to go the distance.
Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
Yo, it's mailbag time.
Your email is at fantasyfootballatcbsi.com.
That is the letter I, fantasyfootballatcbsi.com. That is the letter I, fantasyfootballatcbsi.com.
And your Apple Podcast questions,
always a great way to get your question answered on the show,
and your YouTube comments, and the fantasy cops.
And I'm Adam Azer with senior fantasy football writer,
Jamie Eisenberg, and bad friend, Dan Schneier.
Welcome to the show.
What makes me a bad friend?
You've hurled a lot of insults my way, most of them true, but what makes me a bad friend? I've heard a lot. You've hurled a lot of insults my way,
most of them true,
but what makes me a bad friend?
That one is false.
I've done things for you
and you haven't held up your end of the bargain.
It's disappointing.
We'll have to talk about this after the show.
No, we'll talk about it right now.
That's why I intro'd the show with it.
Okay.
He was talking about this on Friday's podcast,
so this has been on his mind for a while.
I was?
That's not true.
I'm very confused.
You said at the end of the show, I said, is there a mailbag?
And you said, yes.
I'm going to tell everybody why Dan's a bad friend.
Oh, OK.
Yeah, that's true.
You are a big Nicolas Cage fan, you say.
I recommend the Nicolas Cage movie to you.
You watch 15 minutes of it.
You love it.
You turn it off.
You don't watch it again.
You're a classic rock fan.
Don't talk about this Aerosmith
playlist. You made it one week ago.
Am I supposed to have some time to listen?
You give me a one week ticking timer.
Like tick, tick, tick, tick.
You went on a trip.
You traveled. I made you an Aerosmith
playlist. No, you sent that to me
post-travel. I didn't travel.
You made him a mixtape?
I made him a Spotify playlist of aerosols.
You made him a mixtape?
This relationship is on a different level.
That's what I thought.
I feel rejected right now.
It's been a week and he hasn't listened.
You should not feel rejected.
It's only been a week.
I haven't been on a trip.
I have a commute to New York City tonight,
and I will listen to the playlist during that commute.
All right.
Excellent.
Excellent.
What are the songs on this mixtape?
It's just all the classic
Aerosmith rock.
Is this like the Friends mixtape
where Chandler gave it to Monica, but he
never listened to it?
The one he made for Janice?
I have a little from Janice.
Friends? Not a great show,
Friends. Forget it.
Don't do it, Jamie. Don't give it.
We got a lot of news
to update you on here. Jonathan Taylor
is out. They got the Patriots.
Chuba Hubbard is out.
I'm hearing an echo, by the way. Dan, are you
not listening through headphones? Is that what's happening?
I did forget to put them on.
You've got the mixtape in the background.
Why are you saying mixtape in such a weird
way, by the way? You're emphasizing the
tape. You got the mixed tape.
It's very weird.
All right, Dan, you got to fix that.
By the way, I'm weird?
You made your coworker a mixed tape?
It is a little weird.
I get it.
All right, Jonathan Taylor is out.
He's week to week right now.
Phillip Lindsey is likely to be called up from the practice squad.
Don't expect much from Zach Moss, if anything.
Chuba Hubbard is out.
JD McKissick is out.
So, Jamie, rank Deion Jackson, Antonio Gibson, and Deontay Foreman.
Foreman, Gibson, Jackson.
Foreman, Gibson, Jackson.
Dan, agree or disagree?
Foreman, Gibson, Jackson.
Foreman's a clear one.
I'll start there.
I've been big on Gibson, and I do think the matchup's a little better than Jackson.
I don't think we're going to see as much pass volume for Jackson,
so I have to stick with this.
Foreman, Gibson, Jackson.
Are you starting all of them ahead of DeAndre Swift,
who will say they're going to put him out there and see where he's at?
Yes.
God, it's so hard to bench the studs,
but right now he can't even call him a stud
when he's not getting the kind of volume he's not getting,
especially around the goal line.
So yeah, I would agree.
And Jamie, how about Jamal Williams
in this group of Foreman, Gibson, Jackson?
If DeAndre Swift is out, Williams would be first.
If Swift is going to play to whatever capacity,
I would put him behind Foreman, but ahead of everybody else.
Okay. Ryan Tannehill
is a game time decision
Minnesota defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson
is out even better news for Antonio Gibson
Arizona
they were out without three starting offensive linemen last
week on Friday two of them did not
practice or were not seen at the open portion of practice
but left tackle DJ Humphries did practice
Colts are getting quitty payback
this week.
Cincinnati's going to be not only without Chidovia
Wuzier, but also Mike Hilton and Trey Flowers.
Another cornerback is questionable.
Alan Lazard and Christian Watson have
not been cleared yet. Let's say they're trending in
the right direction, but we won't know until Sunday on those
guys. Tampa Bay is going to be
without Antoine Winfield. They're starting safety.
Getting a little healthier in the secondary, but they're not getting Winfield
back against the Rams.
Russell Gage and Cameron Braid are out.
Should we talk about Kate Otten?
Should we talk about Kate Otten?
No?
No.
I would try to avoid him.
The Rams are just absolutely phenomenal against tight ends.
Otten is forgotten.
Buffalo safety Jordan Poyer is out.
Matt Milano and Von Miller practiced on Friday.
So we've told you a bunch of times now.
Milano's out.
It's good news for the tight ends.
Devontae Parker mispracticed.
Damian Harris mispracticed again on Friday with an illness.
You're going to start with Andre Stevenson regardless,
but me oh my if Harris doesn't play.
And New England center David Andrews continues to mispractice.
Those are your news and notes.
Let me tell you about our app.
The CBS Sports app is the best. All right. It's so many sports going on right now. And you can
follow it all on the CBS Sports app. And also, we've got a pick them contest for you that you
can play on the app or you can play at CBS Sports dot com slash play. Go to CBS Sports dot com
slash play and our our football pick them contest, you can get into that,
show off your knowledge, you can hit the jackpot. Sorry, one second here. There's some details of
this that I need to read to you that I am struggling to find because my document is not
working. But anyway, if you go to cbssports.com slash play or you click the more menu from the
CBS Sports app, you can play our uh pick them
contest and see the rules for details and there i think there are some disclaimers that i was
supposed to have read let me get the exact read here just so i don't you know get in trouble but
in the meantime um jamie talk to dan about something uh dan so when you listen to the
mixtape yes where will you be set the scene for us when you're listening to this mixtape
yes yes yes i'll be on the nj nj transit rolling in knowing nj transit it'll be about 18 minutes
off schedule so i'll be standing there waiting for that to come in a little extra time to listen
to the mixtape then you go through the tunnel you lose reception so i guess i have to download
adam's mixtape before i go in on spotify because it's very important i have to listen to this mixtape and at the same time before the next
show jamie i have to also watch matchstick men the movie that adam suggested there's a lot to do
now when you're when you're listening to the mixtape on on the the new jersey transit will
you be like you know bobbing your head you know yes that's that's the hope adam claims that it's
good rock classic rock guitar and that remains to be seen it's a hope. Adam claims that it's good rock, classic rock guitar.
And that remains to be seen.
It's a claim that Adam made that Chris Towers himself laughs off and others that I posted about Chris.
So for our YouTube audience, for our YouTube audience, put yourself, get yourself in the mood.
You listen to the music right now.
Give us an example like how you'll be enjoying it, like your physical demeanor as you're listening to the tape.
So it depends if it depends what kind of head bobber it is. Look, if we get good
guitars going good, classic rock guitars, you're going to get a little bit of this,
a little bit of that, you know, just a little bit of movement all around, just kind of loosen up,
you know, as you know, we have rhythm, our people have rhythm, Jamie. So there'll be a lot of rhythm
on that. The important thing is not making noise though. Cause you know,
people get really crazy if you're on a train and you make any kind of,
are you a, are you an air drummer and air guitar?
I could do a little air guitar on the train. That's a no, not on the train.
Train rules are very different.
You have to subscribe to a very common set of expectations on a train.
I know, I know Adam a long time. He's done some weird things to me,
but maybe a mixtape before.
I'm a little dull.
It's a Spotify playlist.
It's not a mixtape anymore.
No, no, no.
It's a mixtape.
Don't ruin what the-
It's a mixtape.
The first song on the mixtape
is Same Old Song and Dance,
and I know you're going to absolutely love that song.
It is maybe my favorite Aerosmith song.
Enjoy it.
Okay.
Let's go to our Apple Podcast questions.
Leave us a five-star review on Apple Podcast.
And after you tell everybody why you love our show,
go ahead and ask us a question,
and we will get to it.
But the first one is actually
a Fantasy Cops Apple Podcast review.
And it is from Die Hard is a Christmas Movie,
and we're apparently starting that nonsense already.
From a South Shore town on Long Island. And it is from Die Hard is a Christmas Movie. And we're apparently starting that nonsense already.
From a South Shore town on Long Island.
You know South Shore of Long Island, Dan?
Not particularly.
Me neither.
I began the motions of trading away my star players in a keeper league.
One league mate was interested in Patrick Mahomes.
He offered a fifth round pick and Aaron Rodgers for Patrick Mahomes.
I texted the group chat saying, who is going to beat the offer?
And I listed the details of the proposed trade.
The trade partner then lost it, said I should never conduct myself in that way and that he would never.
He went as far as calling it a low and shady move.
I see this as doing business.
Was I wrong to share the details of the proposed trade to the group chat?
Does he need to calm down?
This is an auction, not a first come, first serve.
Of course this guy was wrong, and you were right.
This is what great managers do.
Far too often in leagues, I see trades processed,
and then everybody goes, oh my God, this guy got so little for what, and then he's like, well, this is all I could get.
And then you ask him, did you shop it around?
And he says, no, not really.
Like, you know, and he doesn't shop it around or she doesn't shop it around.
So it's important to shop it around and you could go individually and text every league
mate, but this is kind of an easier way to do it.
You just text the group chat and then someone will probably individually message you if
they're actually interested.
I'm sure the other conversations for the next few trades went to individual chat.
So I got no problem with this.
I think this guy did it.
I think he did a great job here.
What do you think, Jamie?
I would agree.
I don't think there's a problem with it.
It's a little obnoxious, but I don't know if there's anything wrong with it.
Why is it obnoxious, though?
Well, you would like to have, like, if you make a trade offer to someone,
wouldn't you like, oh, Cooper Cup's going to play this week,
just that breaking right now.
Daniel Lewis is going to fight.
Daniel Lewis is going to fight.
So wouldn't you like to have a little bit of, like, a window of exclusivity?
It's just, I don't know, you're kind of putting yourself out there
by making a trade offer.
It's not so everyone else can see what the trade offer is.
I don't think that's really a very proper way to conduct yourself.
I don't think NFL GMs would do that.
I think they do do that, no? You don't think they bring really a very uh proper way to conduct yourself i don't think nfl gms would do that i think they do do that no you don't think they bring the offers they've gotten i think that's exactly how we saw how do you think chase claypool went for his early second round pick
because they probably dangled the packers are willing to trade their later second can you beat
this trade and so chicago said yeah we got an earlier pick in the second round take our side
of the deal. Maybe.
All right.
I guess it's fine.
All right. This one is we have more fantasy cops later.
This one is from Carlos.
Olave or Chris Godwin this week and rest of season.
Olave for both.
I like Olave this week.
The rest of the season is tougher for me.
I'm going to go Godwin rest of season.
I O love a Olave. Do the rest of the season's tougher for me i'm gonna go godwin rest of season i oh love a olave do you oil of olave that's the dumbest name ever isn't it terrible jamie why did he ever think that was good and he was so proud of it to begin with you don't even know what oil
of ole is the point of why it's so bad sometimes things are niche funny. Niche to who?
To people who like skincare.
This is from GiantGman2.
We like this guy.
Full PPR, 10 team.
Gabriel Davis, Antonio Gibson, or Raheem Mostert at the flex?
I'm Davis, but I'm swinging a little higher upside there. I can see why that's too boom or bust.
Where are you at there, Jamie? I'm Davis, but I'm swinging a little higher upside there. I can see why that's too boom or bust. Where are you at there, Jamie? I'm curious.
No, I think that's the right play if you think you need the extra points
because if he hits, he'll be bigger than these two guys.
If not, I'd probably go Mostert just because the matchup's so good.
Dare I say that even if Gabe Davis does it,
he will be bigger than Gibson and Mostert.
He's bigger than just about everyone.
Gibson's a big dude.
Yeah, I don't know about that.
I think Gibson's like 6'3 or 6'4, so I'm not so sure
about that. You think Gibson is bigger than Gabe Davis?
No, no. Okay. I don't know
about that. Even the 6'3 thing is probably
wrong. Come on now. Alright, this is from
Medic Nick. Pick two running backs and
one wide receiver in full PPR.
AJ Dillon, Kenyon Drake,
Caleb Huntley, and we still don't know
about Patterson.
Two running backs there. Dillon, Kenyon Drake, Caleb Huntley, and we still don't know about Patterson. So two running backs there,
Dylan, Drake, Huntley.
Drake is the safest
if there is no Gus Edwards.
But I think this is a week
that AJ Dillon gets on track.
The Lions are so bad against the run.
Yeah, if you're not going to play
AJ Dillon this week,
you might as well release him,
in my opinion,
or you just keep him in case Jones gets hurt. But I agree. I think you you're not going to play A.J. Dillon this week, you might as well release him in my opinion, or you just keep him
in case Jones gets hurt.
But I agree.
I think you have to go Dillon
in this matchup.
I was thinking about this
earlier, though.
You go back to that
three-game stretch.
Oh, they got the Giants
this week.
They're going to be able
to run the ball.
No Leonard Williams.
No, he stunk.
And they lost.
They got the Jets,
but they got the Jets
coming up.
They're going to crush the Jets.
They're going to run the ball.
He's going to score.
No, he's stunk.
Oh, but wait, we got Washington the following week.
He's going to be great there.
He hasn't been good since week one, A.J. Dillon.
Yeah, and a big issue with that is that the game script
hasn't really been in their favor, and I'm not so sure.
They're three-and-a-half-point favorites over Detroit.
That line, I think, moved down to three,
so that line's moving in the wrong direction
from a game script standpoint. So, yeah, I think, moved down to three, so that line's moving in the wrong direction from a game script standpoint. So yeah, I
can see the case against it, too.
And then we need a wide receiver. Palmer or Pittman?
Palmer.
Yeah. It's closer for
me, but I think just given the injury
situation with Los Angeles, I'll go
with Palmer, and I just trust that passing game so much more.
This is from Nalu.
RB2 and a flex play.
Let's see. Barkley's on a bye.
He needs an RB and a flex. He has
Damian Harris, Rashad White,
Darnell Mooney, and Drake London.
And I don't have
the format here.
That matters quite a bit, actually.
It does.
Okay, if Damian Harris doesn't play, then obviously you go White.
If Harris plays, you go Damian Harris doesn't play, then obviously you go white. If Harris plays, you go
Damian Harris or Rashad White.
Harris for me.
That's the best bet
you can do?
If it's PBR, you go white, actually.
I should say that.
I just wonder, with their bye week coming up, how much will they play
Damian Harris if he's not on the team?
It's risky.
They're both risky. I don't think white has a problem. Honestly, I might look at something like Justice Hill. That's not on the field. True. It's risky. They're both risky. I don't think White has more. Honestly, I might look at
somebody like Justice Phil.
That's not a bad idea.
We really haven't talked about him.
It's a good call.
Or Caleb Conley.
No, Patterson.
Yeah.
Darnell Mooney or Drake London at flex?
Mooney for me.
Mooney.
Travis in Omaha has a start or sit question.
Standard scoring league.
Would you start either Connor or Eno Benjamin over DJ Moore?
No.
No way.
Not with the secondary being a mess for the Bengals like this.
Yep.
And with the rapport now developing between Walker and Moore.
Sean McVay, by the way,
saying he doesn't know if Kyron Williams will be activated this week.
Okay. Grade the trade for a team that's three and five.
Keeper League.
I give up Stefan Diggs
and Carter, Michael Carter.
Michael Carter, yeah.
For Justin, I don't know,
is that Khalil Herbert or Justin Herbert?
I think it's Justin Herbert.
Justin Herbert.
Lamb and Pierce.
So Diggs and Michael Carter for Justin Herbert,
CeeDee Lamb, and Damian Pierce.
I guess without knowing the keeper rules,
we just can assume that all of them can be kept.
I don't really know the prices.
I'm just assuming it's no prices.
You just get to keep them for the round.
So just take the trade straight up value.
Herbert Lamb Pierce versus Carter and Diggs.
You got to take the trade.
Yeah, I do.
Yeah, it's just too much value with, man, Damien Pierce is in this too.
You have to take this.
Pierce alone puts it over top for me.
All right, grade the trade from no name here. Sorry. All right, grade the trade from... No name here,
sorry.
All right,
four and four fantasy manager.
I traded away
Melvin Gordon,
Latavius Murray,
and Brandon Ayuk
for Jamar Chase.
Obviously,
this is a great trade.
A.
Oh, it's Christian
Atlanta.
Especially if you're
in the playoffs.
Well, he's four and four.
Well, he is only
four and four.
It's a little risky.
He's got a great roster, though.
It's still worth the risk regardless to me.
Yeah, I agree.
Okay, this is from I'm Good on Weeks.
I want to be bad.
Okay.
Grade the trade.
I have no idea what that means.
Grade the trade.
Give up Jonathan Taylor and Julio Jones.
Get Michael Carter and DJ Moore. Jonathan Taylor and Julio Jones get Michael Carter and DJ Moore.
Jonathan Taylor and Julio Jones for Michael Carter and DJ Moore.
I will say that's an A.
Really?
I'm going to go B.
Who knows how long Taylor's at at this point.
Yeah, it's just such a bad situation with Taylor.
Even when he's back, that offensive line is not what it was or anywhere close.
Passing game is somehow going to be worse without Matt Ryan,
with Ellinger.
Hard to get excited at all about Taylor beyond just the name brand.
Ellinger.
Can I call him Ellinger?
Yeah.
I'm not so sure you're right about that.
Okay, I'm 100% sure that I'm right about it, but that's okay.
Says the man who's allergic to caramel.
You want to have a milk drinking contest there?
I can't.
I told you.
Wow, you guys are so crazy.
Jamie, do you drink cow's milk, Jamie?
Directly from the cow?
No, just in general.
Have you moved to oat or almond yet?
No, I drink cow's milk, yes.
Yeah, you don't have to call it cow's milk.
You just call it milk.
Cow's milk is cow's milk.
I've never heard that before.
People like us who have trouble processing cow's milk
have to refer to it as cow's milk.
Okay.
Here's from GHJJHGGY...
10-team PPR league. Grade the trade.
It's super flex.
Kirk Cousins, Jalen Hurts, and Justin Jefferson.
Whoa.
Giving up Cousins, Hurts, and Jefferson.
Getting Mahomes, Evans, and Eckler.
And I still have Tom Brady and Kyler Murray on my team.
This is a wild trade.
So he's got Brady and Murray behind.
It's a win.
Two quarterbacks for one. But jefferson's in the deal and getting eckler and evans in my homes he's the win
it's a b plus okay yeah you have to do it just given your quarterback situation
i don't love going from jefferson to eckler but it doesn't matter yeah it's like going
from cow's milk to almond milk or something like that for you i'm sure
it's not a great transition it's like going from cow's milk to almond milk or something like that for you, I'm sure.
It's not a great transition.
It's just out of necessity, Adam.
Okay.
What would you say?
Jamie, you would take Jefferson over Eckler. You would have drafted Jefferson over Eckler?
No, but now I would take him over him the rest of the season.
Why?
What's wrong with Eckler?
Eckler's the freaking man.
Eckler's great, but I just feel like there's a longer track record
of Jefferson dominating on a week-to-week basis,
which is stupid to say because Eckler's now done it
for two straight years or a year and a half.
By the way.
I feel more confident in Jefferson.
David A. calling you out.
Food snobs.
David A. is always up my butt.
David A. hates you.
It's so funny.
David A. hates me.
But he tunes in just to hear Dan Schneier.
Yeah, exactly.
He just loves it.
All right, we're taking a break.

This is actually from Apple Podcast.
From Not Upset, Just Disappointed,
please read Fantasy League in shambles.
In my league, I was offered Jerry Judy for Kareem Hunt.
After the trade deadline, I accepted the deal
that we recently changed our league to no vetoes
and trades are instant.
After some disagreement about a veto, that clearly
was not collusion. So the manager
texted me and said that he didn't know that trades went
through right away. Apparently, he
also complained to the commissioner and the trade
was reversed. This
seems like Bush League. As a response,
I dropped all my players
and made a terrible trade of Christian McCaffrey,
Travis Kelsey, and A.J. Brown for Gerald Everett.
I was prepared to quit the league
because this is not the first instance
of an in-season rule change
and then a reactionary move by a commissioner.
How should the commissioner be punished?
What would you have done in this situation?
Should we vote him out as commissioner and lock his team?
Can I ask a question?
Because we get this a lot when people are upset and they drop all their players.
Vol tilt.
As the commissioner of several leagues, all I would do is, and it's a pain in the ass,
but all I would do is just take all those players, put them back on the roster,
and either that roster is now defunct and
you're just playing it out with their best starting lineup or you find somebody else take over that
team you're doing nothing nothing but causing maybe a 20-minute headache for somebody else
yeah but you also get to experience well it's a cathartic experience i'm sure for these managers
i've never done something like this i never would but i would imagine it's a bit of a cathartic
experience right you just go on full till you You get super angry. You just drop it.
I hear I'll get you back.
You're not actually doing anything though.
Like, no, you're not.
It's not like, oh, look,
all these other managers are going to get these players.
No.
Yeah.
You do have that.
You were able to process your like dump trade of like Kelsey McCaffrey
and all those guys for nothing.
And then it processes right through.
I would imagine they veto.
I mean, look,
I don't agree with the decision to drop all the roster,
and I think Jamie brought up the good reasons why it's kind of a fruitless venture.
But as far as what the commissioner did here, it's total BS.
I mean, and what the manager did is even worse to me.
You agree to a trade.
You accept the trade.
You go to the website.
You put the players in.
You click everything.
It's all good.
And then you say, oh, I thought it would go through some veto process.
And now because it didn't go through that process, I want the trade reversed.
It's one of the weirdest explanations I've ever heard.
It's a lame excuse.
Yeah.
And the commissioner just allows this to happen.
He manually reverses the trade based on that kind of logic.
So what should the punishment be for the commissioner?
I don't think you can punish a commissioner.
It's not as easily said than done.
My advice to you is quit this league.
It sucks.
I'm kind of with you.
If you don't like it, then you should quit.
You shouldn't drop all your players, though, and make terrible trades.
This is from Mike in New York.
I am the commissioner.
Oh, I am the commissioner of a league.
And we have a team that has been forfeited by its manager.
The manager never paid or joined the league. So now we have a team that has been forfeited by its manager. The manager never paid or joined the league.
So now we have a ghost team.
Luckily, we have a league constitution that says in these cases,
the team should be set by the commissioner based on projections.
This is to make sure some teams don't get a free win on buys
while others face a decent team.
This week, I forgot to set the lineup on time.
Another manager made me aware
of this mistake at 3pm, and
I used the league manager tools to set the lineup
appropriately based on projections.
Well, as you can imagine, the
manager going against this team thought he had a
free win with half the lineup on buy or injured.
When the changes happened, the Ghost
team won the week. The losing owner
is up in arms about this change
and thinks the locked roster should apply.
I think it is only fair to make sure the
lineup was set as it should have been.
What say you fantasy cops? Should the
lineup be edited after locked
based on the constitutional guidelines
or should the locked mistake stand?
Piece of cake.
If that's been something you've been doing all along,
it should absolutely stand.
The manager who lost should just have to understand that it was a
simple mistake. It's not like it happened two days later, like Will Brinson or four days later.
If you do it immediately and make it clear to everybody, you know, like we had the situation
in our podcast league, Adam, where my co-manager, Todd R Todd Rones mistakenly dropped JK Dobbins off of our, our, our IR spot
because he was on vacation in Europe, had spotty internet and hit the wrong button.
And I made you aware of it right away.
Yeah.
And I, and, and you said totally get it.
You sent a message to the league.
Nobody said a word.
And so as long as everything is on the up and up and you know, everything has been consistent
with that scenario, there should be no hesitation.
Yeah, I agree.
By the way, a couple of tight end updates here.
Darren Waller, questionable with a hamstring.
And Josh McDaniels said he's working extremely hard to try to get back as soon as he can.
I know that.
And nobody wants to play quicker than Darren does.
That doesn't sound great.
And also Mark Andrews mispractice again today.
This is from Tyler. Last one
here. I sent in a trade
for Amandra St. Brown in my
10-team half PPR league
after Hawkinson got traded.
I offered Pittman and Khalil
Herbert to the Montgomery
manager. I texted the guy
first asking him if he would accept and
he took a screenshot and sent it
to the first place guy in my league who is his best friend. Me and the screenshot recipient are
the top two teams in the league. The guy I'm trading with is second to last. He declined the
trade because he doesn't pay attention at all and he left the decision completely to his buddy and
also my top competitor who told him not to do it. Is that collusion?
Should my trade partner have made the decision for himself?
Any consequences or warnings and are they needed?
All right.
So he sends a trade offer to this dude who's in second to last place.
Dude sends a screenshot of the trade offer to the first place guy.
First place guy says, no, don't do it.
So the guy declines.
An original trade guy is not happy about it.
What do you guys think?
So do you guys, would you guys consider it Bush league or, or, or something similar of that nature?
If somebody comes to you with a trade offer that they got from somebody else and they
ask if you can beat it and then you explain why your offer is better than theirs.
Is that unfair?
Cause I'll start by saying that.
Cause it's similar to me.
If you consider that fair game, then I think it's totally fair game for this other manager to kind of be
like,
nah,
it's not a good trade for you.
I don't think it's Bushley because I mean,
you know,
you,
you just brought up the situation with the,
the bears and the Packers in regards to the chase Claypool deal.
And I would imagine general manager of one team says to general manager,
another team,
I got this offer, beat it. And it's yours. You know, I mean, you don't necessarily have to say
who the other offers from, you don't necessarily have to say what the, the full parameters you
could, you know, sort of fudge a little bit if you have to, but I think if you give the general
consent, general idea of general concept of what the trade is and this, this is what I'm looking
at. Like, you know, so i made two trade offers in a league
uh last night i didn't say to the other owners what it was but um they were very similar and
then one countered and i thought the counter offer was close to what i was willing to spend
so i countered again and we made a deal you know so um i don't know if it's necessarily a a bad
thing to be you know so transparent because at least you,
you're,
you're,
this is,
you're basically saying to the other,
other person,
this is what I'm willing to spend,
or this is what I'm looking for.
If you can beat it,
great.
If not,
I'll move on.
As far as this question goes,
you know,
like there was,
I got a trade offer in a league that I'm in with Jamie and I just wanted his opinion on it so i said what do you think
about this trade and now i i wouldn't have just done it or not done it based on what jamie said
but i just wanted some input i just figured you know it's kind of like talking talking shop with
your buddies that's what you do in a fantasy league hey would you take this trade now you
hope that it's done um the right way where there's no motive there, there's no collusion, there's no,
you know, that you would give an honest answer. Yes, you should take that trade or no,
you wouldn't do it for personal benefit. It seems like that's kind of happening here.
But in general, I don't have a problem with you asking your friend who's in the league
advice on a trade. If the guy told you not to do it because it benefited his team,
you know,
then that's a problem,
but I can't say for sure that happened.
So I guess I would just,
well,
I had that happen in,
uh,
in our super flex league with the trade I made with,
uh,
Jack,
our producer,
uh,
of,
of the HQ show and another one of our producers,
they were talking about a trade and they asked me in a group
chat that we're all together um would you trade justin fields for jonathan taylor in a super flex
league and i said i'd rather have fields at this point just knowing where his value is as a
quarterback to what taylor is as a running back with the injuries and so then jack replied back
make your own make your own decisions.
Later that day, Jack sent me a trade offer for Jonathan Taylor and one of my quarterbacks.
I countered with an offer that was accepted.
I wasn't giving the advice with the idea.
I never knew Jack was going to approach me with a trade. And then the other producer, Mehron, said, oh, I'm glad you used my information against me.
I was like, that was not the case at all.
I never offered a deal. I was like, that was not a case at all. Um, I never offered
a deal. I never, you know, considered a deal. The deal was presented to me and I countered and
accepted it. So you can see where these types of things happen, where you can see it, you know,
somebody maybe using it as, as to their advantage. Um, but again, it's just knowing the people in
your league and hopefully everybody's trustworthy. Yeah. That's a terrible trade, by the way.
That's the key here. Cause in this guy's, in the example we have here,
well, that's a whole other situation.
But in this example we have here, we have one team that's out of it,
and they're not trying anymore, and they're not paying attention.
And so that's the other issue.
You've got to find people who are willing to kind of play through it.
I think you're right.
I think in this case, the guy's not paying any attention.
He lets another manager by proxy veto a trade.
I've got a problem with that.
I don't know that you can do much about it, but I have a problem with that. Because this doesn't seem like. It's not vetoing. It's just kind of saying not to accept it. Turn veto a trade. I've got a problem with that. I don't know that you can do much about it, but I have a problem with that because this doesn't seem like vetoing.
It's just kind of saying,
Oh,
right.
Turn down a trade.
This is,
this is not two buddies talking shop and making a fantasy football decision.
This is one guy.
It seems,
this seems more the way Tyler is telling it.
This seems more like one guy,
uh,
by proxy managing another team.
And I do have a problem with that.
I'm sorry.
I got a great offer for you.
Uh,
I will give you Melvin Gordon for Terr terrence marshall did that happen yeah he gave me melvin gordon i gave him
terrence marshall there was other things involved okay other things the reason i hate the trade i
don't mind rather if terrence marshall has i'm sure you would now too but like yes the other
part of the trade i gave you a pick back for ken Galladay. Wow. I think that you, I
thought you were going to try to trade him the Aerosmith mixtape for a different one. No, no,
no. That's not for sure. I got five, I got about five minutes left. I'm sorry. I got to, we got a
pediatrician appointment. I got to take blah, blah, blah. I wouldn't bail on the listeners
unless I had a good reason. I have a good reason. I'm sorry. I got to cut the show short today.
So emails at fantasyfootballatcbsi.com.
This is from Jimmy.
Alan Lazard or Josh Palmer in PPR?
Palmer.
That's so close.
I guess the matchup is so good for Lazard.
I'm just a little scared of the injury,
but I guess if he gets the full clean bell of health,
Lazard would the matchup.
So Lazard.
Well, Palmer's matchup is probably better,
but I'll take Lizard.
Do you think his matchup is better?
Falcons give up the most points to wide receivers.
I don't know.
They're both very good matchups.
I think you're hoping for Lizard to score.
There's a little bit better track record of that.
From Eric in Cincinnati,
10-team, 2QB, half PPR league.
Should I trade Lamar Jackson
and one of my wide receivers,
which would be DJ Moore, Pittman,
Godwin, Sutton, and Rondale Moore?
One of them plus Lamar Jackson
for Justin Fields and Amonra St. Brown.
2QB, 10-team.
No.
No? Okay.
It's too much.
Unless you're just desperate and
once the Bears buy a week because the
Ravens are next week.
It's not next week. I'm not sure when it is.
From Mike, Grade the Trade.
Give
Hopkins and Mostert
get Derrick Henry in a PPR league.
Wow.
That's pretty close. It's hard to say no to get a Derrick Henry in a PPR league. Wow. That's pretty close.
It's hard to say no to get a Derrick Henry.
But Hopkins could be top five rest of the season.
Yeah, the only concern, I guess, would be is that what happens when Marquis Brown is back, if he's back at all.
So if you want to get Derrick Henry, you have to spend.
And this is spending pretty steeply.
OK, so it's Hopkins and Mostert for Derrick Henry.
B minus. B minus. I'll give it's Hopkins and Mostert for Derek Henry. B-.
I'll give it a C.
Even C.
From David Allegria.
Good afternoon. It's past
1130. That's what he said.
From a town just south of
Jacksonville.
Is Daytona just south of Jacksonville?
Yes. Sure.
This is a good question for you guys.
Except Dan, for some reason,
questioned by South Florida.
I do.
Authenticity is ridiculous.
Ridiculous.
Full PBR.
Deion Jackson or Clyde Eberts-Ziller?
Deion.
Yeah, Deion for sure.
More volume.
Oh, by the way, he's from St. John's, Florida.
I've actually never heard of that.
What's the story?
You claim to be in South Florida.
Well, it's nowhere near South Florida.
What's the story with the old football Jamie has behind him?
The old football
was something
my father-in-law loves to
spend his days going to
thrift shops. He found this in a thrift shop.
That's pretty cool.
I told him I'd put it there.
Alright, this is from Joe.
Very good story. Dan Mar i want to see me yeah hey sandler matthews lee curtis and folk
adam jamie heath ah who's he who's heath folk i think that should be nick folk but i don't know
who that would there's no nick no it's not nick folk it's f-o-u-l Folk, but I don't know who that would... There is no Nick. No, it's not Nick Folk.
It's F-O-U-L-K-E.
I don't know who Heath Folk is.
I've never heard of Heath Folk.
Adam Sandler, Dave Matthews,
Jamie Lee Curtis, and Heath Folk.
Is there maybe a Keith Folk,
and it's like part of the joke?
Maybe.
Heath Folk has got to be a country singer, right?
I mean, it couldn't have a more country name.
What about Byron Folk?
Half PPR, Lazard
or DeAndre Carter?
Lazard, yeah.
Taysom Hill or Isaiah Likely
if Mark Andrews plays?
I don't think
Mark Andrews is going to play at this point.
You don't? No.
Didn't he miss again today?
Keith Folk, that pitcher for the Red Sox.
Keith Folk.
I forgot.
World Series champion.
Keith Folk.
If you were still a baseball guy, you'd remember that.
Yeah, I would have, yeah.
If you were a Yankees fan, you'd remember that.
We'll find out Saturday with Andrews.
All right, but if Andrews plays, would you go Taysom Hill or Isaiah Likely?
You mean if Andrews doesn't play?
No, he's saying if Andrews plays. Oh, I would go with Taysom Hill or Isaiah Likely? Give me if Andrews doesn't play. No, he's saying if Andrews plays.
Oh, I would go with Taysom Hill and non-PPR.
I might gamble on Likely and PPR.
All right, this is from Mike in Eastern North Carolina.
Two flex spots, full PPR.
Lockett, Palmer, Olave, Rondell Moore, Deontay Foreman.
The last two.
No, no, not Rondell Moore. I'm sorry, Oontay Foreman. The last two. No, no, not Rondell Moore.
I'm sorry, Olave and Foreman.
Okay.
In full PPR, I'm a little more pressed,
but I still think Foreman has so much better chance of volume.
So I'll go Foreman.
Lockett and Olave is tough for me,
but I'm fine with the matchup with Olave, so I'll go Olave.
Sean needs two of these three.
Palmer, DJ Moore, Pittman.
Moore and Pittman
for me.
Moore and Palmer for me.
From Brandon in
Haines City. 10-team league,
two super flex. You can start three
quarterbacks.
I have Tua, Kyler,
Gino, and Russ. I was offeredua, Kyler, Geno, and Russ.
I was offered
Josh Allen and Keenan Allen
for Kyler Murray and Geno
Smith. That would still leave him with Josh Allen,
Tua, and Russell Wilson.
He'd be getting Josh Allen and Keenan Allen.
He'd be giving up Kyler Murray and Geno Smith.
One billion trillion
gazillion percent.
I would love this trade.
I only love it because he has Russ, though.
I think in these leagues where you can start three,
it does matter to have a QB in every one of those spots.
It's a weird league, too.
James Conner is going to be a game-time decision.
This is from Morgan.
Damian Pierce's performance tonight
is exactly why points for first down
should be standard format in fantasy.
There is zero reason why Pierce and Gainwell
should have nearly the same amount of fantasy points
as a result of their efforts.
I agree.
If you want to do points for first down, that's fine.
I do not support PPR and points for first down.
I just think it should be one or the other.
That's not on your platform?
What about half
PPR and points for first down?
No, I don't think any PPR and points for first
down. I mean, that's the
boost. That's me, personally.
All right, Randy from LA. Give up Tua.
You hate Scott Fisch is what you're saying.
I did not
say that. Where's he been? He hasn't been in our chat
in years. So now I do hate him.
All right, give up Tua and Gus.
Get Cordaro Patterson.
I'm going to start being nice to him.
He's now on the Hall of Fame committee.
Oh.
Well, I'm never getting into that.
All right, so listen.
Randy has Mahomes.
He gives up Tua and Gus Edwards.
He gets Cordaro Patterson.
Gives up Tua and Gus Edwards gets...
It's a 1QB. Yeah, 1QB, and he has Mahomesl Patterson? Gives up Tua and Gus Edwards gets... It's a one QB.
Yeah, one QB, and he has Mahomes.
Patterson.
He's going to have Tua and...
Edwards.
No, I don't like that.
Yeah.
I think you do better with what Tua's doing right now.
I agree.
100%.
From Jimmy, PPR League, pick one.
Alec Pierce, Philip Dorsett.
Not him.
Zay Jones or Matt Collins?
Ugh. Well, Dorsett not him Zay Jones or Mac Hollins yeah well Dorsett played already yeah I'd go Pierce yeah say Jones but
that's just me from Joseph Pittman or
Jacoby Myers Myers yeah it's amazing
have to say that but yeah all right I'm
gonna do two minutes of rapid-fire
YouTube questions.
Go, YouTube, go.
This is from Reed.
Start two.
Gibson, Swift, Pittman, Foreman, Deion Jackson.
Foreman and Gibson.
And then Christian Kirk or Justin Fields?
Fields for me.
Sure, Fields.
Isaiah Likely or Noah Fant?
Likely.
If Andrews plays and if Fant is okay,
I like Fant's sleeper situation against Cardinal.
Jarko says that person just gave away Tua for a ham sandwich.
He wishes.
Ham is clearly the best cold cut.
No, it's not.
You put that online, Adam, and you got destroyed immediately.
I think it destroyed.
That was one of your worst takes ever. It is, right, Jamie? It's one of his worst takes ever. If Jamie doesn't even eat ham, he wouldn't know. cut no it's not you put that online adam and you got destroyed i think it destroyed it was a very
it is right jamie it's one of his worst takes ever he wouldn't know first of all ham was last
on the poll you put three options that weren't you didn't include pastrami which is probably the
best you didn't include any of the italian spice meats you just included regular which is fine oh
you put one prosciutto okay but prosciutto and you were stillutto. And you were still dead last, and you still had people commenting,
what?
Ham is the worst.
There were multiple people like,
what is he talking about?
Ham is probably the worst of any cold cut meat,
which I stand by as the truth.
All right, let's pick two here.
Deion Jackson, Tyler Algier,
Michael Carter, and Khalil Herbert.
Pick two.
If there is no Cordero Patterson,
I would go with Jackson and Algier.
If Patterson plays, I'll go Jackson and Herbert.
Okay.
Would you give up Devante Adams and DeAndre Swift for Derek Henry?
Yes.
Yeah, I think you have to.
Hopkins or Olave this week?
Hopkins.
Give me a running back and a flex out of these three.
DeAndre Swift, DeAndre Jackson, Michael Pittman, and Darnell Mooney. I guess there are four. me a running back and a flex out of these three deandre swift deon jackson michael
pittman and darnell mooney i guess there are four uh the colts so pittman over swift
pittman over mooney yes what's it just so nerve-wracking
okay how about would you start james robinson cam acres or je or Jeff Wilson in standard scoring?
Puke.
Wilson?
Is it Wilson?
Wilson.
Yeah, it's Wilson, isn't it? Last question here.
Tua or Kyler?
Tua.
Yeah, I think matchup Tua.
Thanks.
Thanks, guys.
Sorry for the shorter episode today.
Thanks for being a part of it.
For Dan and Jamie. Dan, I'm looking forward. You have a very good commute tonight. I'm very happy episode today. Thanks for being a part of it. For Dan and Jamie.
Dan, I'm looking forward.
You have a very good commute tonight.
I'm very happy for you.
Next tape.
Maybe I'll pick up a ham sandwich on the way so I can eat that.
What a day.
What a day this would be.
Be a menace on the train by eating.
By the way, Adam, just out of curiosity, why do you think they call it trade for X4A ham
sandwich as in you're getting nothing if the ham sandwich was good?
Think about that one.
I don't like that point because that is a really good one. It's hurting my argument.
Dan first hurt your feelings, now hurt your ham sandwich.
That's a bad friend. There's no question. See you later, everybody.
