This is fantasy football today from CBS sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
It's a no idea.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Off to the races and he stays on his feet.
It's just going to go the distance.
Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
Just get some sleep, everybody.
You know, have a good night.
Have a good night.
Welcome to the show.
It is 11.30 p.m. Eastern and we are here to talk about
day two of the 2026 NFL draft.
In round two, we had a combined three quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers drafted.
All of them were wide receivers.
No quarterbacks, no running backs, no offensive tackles in round two.
A lot of defense.
We did have some tight ends.
But that, by the way, three quarterback running back wide receiver combined,
fewest in at least 17 years.
I didn't even bother going back further than that for the second round of the NFL draft.
I'm Adam Azer with Heath Cummings and Jamie Eisenberg.
And look, we want views and listens and ratings and downloads and all that.
I'm going to help.
I'm going to help.
I have a question.
If 11.30 a.m. is afternoon.
Is it already tomorrow?
I mean, it might as well because we're round four.
Day three can't be any worse than day two.
I mean, this was horrible.
It can't care so bad.
No, no.
All the running backs that we draft,
that we like ranked as top five running backs,
we'll be drafted tomorrow, so that'll be fun.
Adam, I have a question.
Because it's not far-fetched.
If Carson Beck ends up being the starting quarterback
for the Arizona Cardinals and is better than Fernando Mendoza,
does your take of Beck being potentially the first quarterback drafted get validated?
No, but the fact that he's the third quarterback,
drafted is a little validating, isn't it?
Is Carson Beck older than Jacoby Percette?
I hope not.
But you know who's pretty old?
Kalon Black, the third running back drafted in this draft.
He was drafted with the 26 pick of round three by the San Francisco 49ers at a very
puzzling day with their draft picks.
He will be 25 years old.
Wait, put that back up for a second.
What's that?
Is that Thomas?
The picture is
Thomas calling time out.
We have a question in the chat.
Who the hell is Kailon Black?
So he's a national champion.
He played for the Indiana Hoosiers.
He's 59208 ran a 44540.
If you watch him though, he looks like he ran a 410, 540.
When have you watched him?
Well, I watched Indiana in the playoffs.
I watched the game.
And then after he was drafted, I was like,
I better go watch some Kailon Black.
And he looks slow out there.
know what?
Like, if he gets a chance, if he gets an opportunity at San Francisco, it might be good.
All right.
Here's some big questions.
Things that never fail.
San Francisco taking your running back on day two of the NFL drafts.
Yeah.
They have taken, just since you brought that up, since Kyle Shanahan came the head coach in 2017, they've taken Joe Williams in round four.
I don't know why I included him, so I was only looking at it.
No, no, all the running backs they took.
Joe Williams, Trace.
No, wait, wait.
Give us the number.
Let's see if we'd guess him.
What do you mean?
How many?
How many that he drafted?
Let's see what we get.
Three, four, five, six before tonight.
All right.
So you said one was Joe Williams.
Mm-hmm.
So there's five more.
Tery and Davis Price.
Yeah.
Tray Sherman.
Yeah.
Isaac Rendo.
Yeah.
Jordan James.
Yeah.
How many more?
One more.
And he's probably the best one.
Elijah Mitchell.
Yeah.
Oh, dude.
That was really good.
You know, let's just end on that note.
All right, let's get to the fantasy.
I have to do this research a couple days ago.
Is there a single player drafted in round two or three that needs to be drafted in a 12-team redraft league?
Yeah.
Oh, who?
No, that was not the question.
So, I, it's, look, obviously, we would have liked to see Denzel Boston go to some place.
else, you know, where there's, you know, better quarterback play.
But he could clearly be better than Casey Concepcion.
It wouldn't be shocking and, you know, command targets and be great.
I think if you look at the round three receivers and some of the guys that ended up in
some interesting destinations, like you remember the Josh Bell conversation we had.
I think it was J.P. Acosta said that that was one of his favorite receivers, right?
Josh Bell, yeah, yeah. Chris Bell.
Chris Bill.
Yes.
You know,
dolphins need something,
you know,
so he's like,
and that was their second wide receiver
taken on the night, right?
I think first they took a tight end.
It took,
he's a converter receiver.
They took a blocking tight end,
Will Casmeric at a Ohio State.
I think you look at that type of situation.
You look at Antonio Williams in Washington.
I know he's not the ideal.
You know,
he's more of a smaller slot guy,
but they're receiving core.
Wait a second.
Heath was right.
Sorry.
Thank you.
They took Caleb Douglas.
They took Caleb Douglas, too.
Okay.
There were nine receivers.
Another guy that I had not watched.
Was that round two?
No, that was nine.
That was round three.
They took Caleb Douglas, who got a D plus grade from our Mike Renner.
I see.
He said, this is easily one of the biggest reaches of the draft so far.
Not only on my board, but also the consensus board where he was outside the top 200.
That's Caleb Douglas out of Texas Tech.
He's six foot four, 206 pounds, Caleb Douglas.
And then the dolphins took him.
And he's kind of a high A-DOT.
He's a UF transfer.
And then they took, as you mentioned, they took Chris Bell,
who's coming off a torn ACL and is not a polished route runner,
but he's a great athlete.
So I don't know.
I don't think Chris Bell is a, like the question was,
anyone that needs to be drafted in a 12-team redraft league.
No, again, I think when we get closer to the season,
so you see this list of guys here.
Like, Brazel is interesting in Carolina because, you know,
I'm sure most people, myself included, would prefer Jalen Coker as a second guy for now.
Like he could be a playmaker for this team and get an opportunity.
Jacoby Lane, you know, look, Rashad Bateman's obviously had a very up and down career so far.
You know, could Lane be somebody who comes in and plays opposite Zayfowars?
Zachariah Branch, you know, again, more of a slot receiver, but they just lost Darnal
Mooney, didn't replace him with anybody, you know.
Alamede Zakiis and Jahan Dotson are the guys right now.
Malachi Fields, you know, we're talking about Darnal Mooney, for example, as somebody who
come in and make some plays. Maybe Fields outplays him. You know, he's clearly, you know,
I think still a work in progress, but somebody who could get an opportunity. So there's some
destinations here that a guy can make, they could take advantage of if he gets the, the chance
for immediate playing time, you know, but this is going to be, you're going to hear, and I'm not
going to put it on any of these players, but the next, and the name you're going to probably
hear a lot is in the next Pug and Akua, a guy that was drafted, you know, late, middle,
middle to late in the NFL draft or someone along those lines that you're hoping can,
you know, sort of come out of nowhere and make some, you know, significant fantasy production.
But clearly this is very uninspiring when you're talking about the destinations that we're
hoping to see guys end up and, you know, waiting until round three and, you know, receivers 10 through
15, whatever it is.
And, Adam, have we ever had, maybe I'm not remembering, but like an entire team where we just
did not draft a wide receiver from their team.
What do you mean?
I mean,
like you kind of poo-poohed
Caleb Douglas and or Chris Bell,
but have you seen the Dolphins wide receiver depth chart?
You're right.
No, you're right.
It's Malik Washington and Taj Washington
and Tutu Atwell and Jalen Tolbert
and Terence Marshall.
Like, it's, there's nobody.
So I think, I don't know who it's going
to be, but if Chris
Bell is anywhere close to healthy,
we're definitely going to draft them.
You got to figure that this is a team that has to look at
Stefan Diggs or Juan Jennings or something.
Well, the other thing is, with all the money they ate with, too,
they don't really have any money,
and I don't think they're really behaving like a team that plans on,
I think they want a quarter rack next year in the draft.
Yeah, so this is the Dolphins we're talking about here.
I think
very interested in Zachariah Branch on it,
Atlanta. Certainly if Kyle Pitts gets traded, that's going to be even more appealing. He's small. He's
5.8 and a half, 177 pounds, very fast, 4, 3, 5, 40, which isn't necessarily good. But he's a slot guy
does super low yak, but a super low A dot, but a lot of yak, a lot of screen passes. So if you draft
the guy had the second most catches on screen passes in the country, Zachariah Branch, maybe get him
some quick targets. We've seen 2O work in the in the quick game. If he's going to be the quarterback,
you know, get the ball in the guy's hands, let them make some plays.
There's some interesting stuff here.
I mean, like I said, we had nine wide receivers drafted in round three.
So we have a lot to break down.
We had three drafted in round two and then nine in round three.
Antonio Williams to Washington, Jamie mentioned him.
He got a big opportunity.
He's been a slot guy at Clemson, but, you know, a lot of people think he can play inside or outside.
He's also been kind of a low-a-doc guy.
So, yeah, it might not be a total wash.
A couple stats for you here.
If we look at what have round three,
wide receivers done. Remember last night I gave some stats dating back to 2014. I was used that as a
reference point because that was the best wide receiver draft since I've been covering fantasy football.
That was an amazing draft. So here's a look. I'll zoom in a little bit. This is wide receivers
drafted in round three since 2014 and their fantasy points per game. And it's ugly. Since 2014,
not including tonight, obviously. So that's 12 drafts. There have been 54 wide receivers
drafted in round three, only three of them averaged more than 10.4 PPR fantasy points.
They were Tankdale, Terry McLaurin, and Cooper Cup. Only four of them averaged double-digit
PPR fantasy points as a rookie. Doesn't mean they were always, it doesn't mean they were bad
forever. Kenny Golodey's on this list. Let's see, Nico Collins is on this list. Chris
Godwin's on this list. So if you're in a Dynasty League, this is an important group.
But as rookies, they usually don't do much. Let's change it to round two. Round two is about
28% or so
average 11
ish PPR fantasy
points per game. It's a much bigger list.
So,
you know, if there had been four wide receivers
drafted in round two. So you can get more excited about
Deslawns tribling.
If there had been four
wide receivers drafted in round two, then
one of them was sure to be good.
But, you know, it's about
a 28% hit rate in terms of
I think it was 11 PPR fantasy points, is
I was looking at.
Adam, how are you feeling about that
Malik Neighbors trade now that you got
two picks to back in the run?
I don't even want to play in the league anymore.
No, I understand that feeling.
Yeah, it's, I mean, you can,
you might be able to get Ty Simpson and Omar Cooper.
No.
I think Denzel Boston probably.
I basically traded Malik Neighbors for picks 11 and 12 this year.
There were some other pieces.
But, but,
You know, it couldn't have gone much worse.
But that's like, really.
I mean, it couldn't have gone much worse.
Eli Stower, like Eli Stowers is in a dynasty league, you know, he's probably not going to do much this year.
But Stowers is the second tight end off the board.
He was the second tight end for a lot of people in their rankings.
He goes to the Eagles.
That's not so bad.
It's not going to be great this year because of Goddard, but this might be Goddard's last year.
He's on a one-year deal.
So he's...
Then he'll only be behind Devonte Smith and McClellan.
Yeah.
Right.
It sucks.
Denzo Boston is in play.
I mean, like, you know,
Denzo Boston could just be good.
It's not going to be this year.
Yeah.
But you know, it's not going to be, it's not going to be DeJohn Stripling,
even though he was the first pick of round two.
He was almost a first round pick.
You know, we've seen like Ladd-McConkie get drafted in that range.
I don't remember who it was, but my favorite thing was the report,
like, talking about how Sanford's like likes him because he might be,
really good at blocking.
He's got the skills
to be a good blocker.
Yeah, that's a weird pick, man.
Stribling out of Ole Miss
goes with the first pick of round two.
We've also seen Keon Coleman get drafted there.
We've seen like Jalen Polk get drafted
near that range.
Xavier Ligette.
I think he was the last pick of round one.
He was.
Well, I mean,
his first pick of round to the last pick of round one,
that's the range.
No, completely different.
Completely different.
All right, let me ask you
another question here.
which day two player, if you had to just pick one,
as the best fantasy outlook for 2025?
For 2025?
I will say...
I'll say,
2025, buddy.
I'll say Boston.
If you had to pick one, which player,
which day two player is the best fantasy outlook for 2026?
Denzel Boston.
Yeah, I have to agree.
which day two player has the best dynasty fantasy outlook
Dinda Lassen
Yeah
Any thought on Stowers there
I mean we just kind of talked about that like it's
It's just hard to
Hard to say that he's got
Huge upside
I mean you know
Some of the other tight ends that went today could
Potentially be better as well
But Stowers look he's a project you know
He's still got to learn the position
and he's great, great upside, immense upside as a receiver.
But I think, you know, the Eagles could easily be one of these teams that they blow everything up after this year.
If things go bad, it could be Siriani out, Hertz out.
And then we're looking at a, you know, who knows what.
But yeah, I think Stowers is certainly in the conversation.
I think my view on Stowers is it almost has to be that for him to be good.
I think if it's a Jalen Hertz team and as a team that really,
runs as much as they do.
Stowers is going to be
best case scenario, Dalton
Kincaid.
And then I like Max Claire
a lot. He goes to the Rams.
They don't have enough tight ends, apparently.
The Rams played three tight end sets
on about 31%
of their snaps.
Second most in the NFL was the Steelers
at 13%.
I mean, the Rams are just doing things
that no other team does.
Well, Parkinson is
definitely gone after
I can't imagine there's a snare where he comes back.
He's got one year left on his deal.
But you still have Ferguson.
They gave Higby an extension.
I figure he's probably got, he's almost retired.
I feel like he might have one year left.
And look, you got to really after last night, wonder where Sean McVeigh's head at,
but they keep drafting guys for the future.
I mean, do we look at, oh, boy, he seemed pretty pissed off yesterday.
You think?
I mean, do we look at, you know, at the Bears drafting Sam Roush at the, not the Rams, the Jaguar is drafting Nate Borkershire.
I think I butcher that and think maybe this means they're going to try to run more or play like less exciting personnel?
You just said something that, you know, we saw as the season went off.
on the Rams ran a lot of 13 personnel with three tight ends.
This is a copycat league as we're well aware.
A lot of teams started to do that.
And so you're going to get that because it creates a lot of mismatches when you have guys
that are dual threat at that position that can leak out and be receivers and still be capable
blockers.
You know, it gives you extra offense alignment on the field.
So I think what you're going to see, especially since there's so many guys from this coaching
tree, there's going to be teams that try to mimic that.
So I don't necessarily think it's an offensive shift.
per se and you're looking at they're getting more,
you know,
essentially extra offensive linemen because they want to be a little bit more
run heavy or use those guys as blockers.
I think it's just,
oh, the Rams did that.
McVeigh did that.
Hey, we can do that.
And you're going to see some of that get,
you know,
sort of mimicked around the league.
Okay.
Because like the Jaguar is taking a blocking tight end.
They were pretty low in terms of playing two tight end sets.
They played a lot of three,
the ninth highest rate for the Jaguars of three receiver sets.
and we want them to play three receiver sets.
I don't know, just a thought, but you don't know how it's going to go.
Okay.
So we're going to take a break here and we'll break down the players,
break down the prospects.
And yeah, we'll be right back on Fantasy Football today.

All right, welcome back.
Got's a couple of news items here about the Eagles.
They think that Mackay Lemon can play inside and outside.
I'm not singing the song blue, right?
Inside it.
Now I am seeing it.
Inside and outside.
Okay.
And they acquired Jonathan Gernard from Minnesota.
So a talented pass rusher for a third round pick this year and a third round pick next year.
Everything seems to go the Eagles way.
It's frustrating.
All right.
Quarterback's taken.
Carson Beck to Arizona, first pick of round three.
Drew Aller to Pittsburgh, 12th pick of round three.
Jamie, your thoughts?
The Beck one's interesting because he started to pick up some momentum as the third quarterback at the latter part of the pre-draft
process. And so you couldn't really ask for a better destination. You know, you're looking at a team that has a lot of
quarterback issues right now. So could he be this year's Tyler Shuck? Could he be a guy that sits to start
the season because I would assume, assuming the contract situation gets worked out with Jacoby Brissette,
who clearly they would probably be okay if he decided to hold out because I doubt they're going to pay him
a significant amount of money. But with Brissette and Gardner Minchu being the quarterbacks there,
you know, Beck may get an opportunity to play right away. And,
And you're looking at Tray McBride and Marvin Harrison and Michael Wilson and now Jeremiah Love,
if the offensive line can be semi-decent, it's one of the best group of skill players that we have,
at least on paper.
So there's a lot to like about the situation for him.
For Drew Aller, again, similar situation.
There's a good destination here for him if he can prove that he's a playmaker,
assuming Aaron Rogers either plays this year and he's done or doesn't play at all.
Mike McCarthy coaching young quarterbacks, it's been a pretty good formula for him.
what he did with Aaron Rogers and his career there and obviously what he did with
Dak Prescott, it could be another situation that works out.
So two guys that ended up in spots where they get a chance to play right away,
I don't have a lot of high expectations for them, but the situations do work out
potentially in their favor.
I will just say from a dynasty perspective, like as negative as everything feels about
the round two picks, I kind of thought that the Beck, Aller, Nussmeyer group would be round
three picks and Superflex
rookie drafts and these guys are probably
around two picks now. They
have a legitimate chance to start games next year.
When you look at, Heath, when you look at the
Superflex drafts and obviously
I'm not going to hold you to this because
you're going to take some time to evaluate and
you do a great job.
When you get past
pick seven, pick eight, I don't know
where you want to go from yesterday with the four
receivers that we, you know,
I don't even want to throw Cooper in there, but
you know, the
four receivers that we saw go and the two running backs and Sadiq and Mendoza.
Once you get past that, if you want to put Simpson there too, do you consider even taking
back in round one?
I think right now I've got him at 18.
So if you were desperate for a quarterback, I'm not sure there's a whole lot of difference.
I mean, people like Ty Simpson more, but that's a relatively new thing.
thing.
I'd much rather take Beck at
12 than Simpson at 6 or
7 where I think he's going to go.
Yeah.
Maybe I'm biased. I don't know. I'm completely
out on Carson Beck. I don't believe
in him at all. He
has pretty much no mobility.
He needs
a great offensive. He needs a good
offensive line, possibly a great offensive line.
When he is pressured, he is
horrible. His decision making is
truly awful.
in my opinion, and his arm is just not good enough, in my opinion.
I hear that he has this big arm.
Watch him throw the ball down field.
The ball flutters.
He throws interceptions.
It's funny, he is basically the complete opposite of Drew Aller.
Drew Aller was top recruit.
He's big.
They're both big.
But Aller has a great arm and he can move.
But he was pretty bad in college, really inaccurate.
Beck, very accurate, you know, throwing short.
Did a good job.
And he did a really good job.
But I just don't buy him as a pro prospect.
I can't believe he went with the first pick of round three.
I didn't think anyone.
I think a lot of people didn't think any quarterbacks
other than those top two deserve to go today.
They were all kind of day three guys.
But it seems like this whole draft is day three guys.
Some of them had to get taken on day two.
I don't really see why this is necessary, Thomas.
That's a good picture.
And he does have kind of a prickly personality.
They were even talking about it on ESPN during the draft.
You got to be okay with Carson Beck's personality.
If somebody was going to describe one of the FFT cast as having a prickly personality, who do you think it would be?
Oh, I think all of us at all of us at different times.
We are, oh, we're very, like, manic.
I mean, we can be very prickly and very goofy at the, you know, right?
I don't know.
We got one vote for Heath in the chat.
We got one vote for Adam.
Yeah, it makes sense.
It makes sense.
All right, to the running back.
Kalon Black.
The running back.
It's incredible that there was one running back taken on day two,
and it was somebody that nobody cared about before the draft.
I hope tomorrow we get some traits.
I hope we get, I would like to see James Connor and Alvin Camara get traded.
I would like to see those guys end up in spots.
Like send one to Jacksonville, send one to Minnesota,
maybe even Dallas to be a backup to Jamante Williams
or compete with Jamante Williams.
Like, let's move those guys out of the way for the teams that they're on
and get them to some spots where maybe they can have some one last run,
no pun intended, but one last opportunity to, you know,
help a backfield that could use at least another player or maybe even a starter.
Like, let's get some fun with some veterans, like, because it's just, this is messy.
I was thinking, are we sure now that Bill and Bachel Tootin, day three picks,
are out of the woods
because their team didn't take a running back
until day three.
Or like there's,
I thought Emmett Johnson
could give one of those guys a run.
Mike Washington has the athleticism.
Is it possible that in round four
we get some running backs
that are still going to compete
for starting jobs?
Yeah, there's Jonah Coleman too
and the Penn State guys.
Honestly, the 49ers,
what draft board were they using?
Look, what do I know, right?
I don't run the $40.
But the wide receiver they took and the running back they took,
they took what, the sixth wide receiver and the third running back?
And these guys were nowhere near that in the industry ranks.
So I'm perplexed.
So, yeah, there are still some enticing running backs to be had.
But question about Kalon Black.
Is he your preferred handcuff for Christian McCaffrey?
Not now.
Probably be Jordan James still for me.
Okay.
All right, let's go to the wide receivers.
So we've got...
The running back.
I wasn't even trying to be funny, but it is just funny.
Must have been the delivery.
The wide receivers, three of them in round two, rank them for 2026.
DeJohn Stripling to the 49ers.
Last.
Denzel Deson.
Denzel Boston.
to Cleveland and Jeremy Bernard to Pittsburgh.
Boston Bernard's tripling.
Okay.
And you brought it up.
One of you brought it up earlier, but, oh, Jamie,
just the idea that Boston could outperform Casey Concepcion.
They're so different.
What do you think?
I think it's just like Boston scores seven or eight touchdowns
and Concepcion scores two.
Yeah.
Let's see, Boston had 11 touchdowns last.
year nine touchdowns the year before.
But Concepcion had nine touchdowns last year.
He had six the year before and ten the year before that.
So he's also been a good touchdown producer.
But Boston, six foot four, two hundred and twelve pounds.
He's kind of that red zone prototype.
This is a knock on Fanon now.
Yep.
Tight end.
All right.
Tight end what?
Six?
Five.
I mean, he's definitely for me behind Loveland.
obviously the top two.
McBride, Bowers, Loveland,
Warren.
He was in this spot now.
So I would say he goes behind Leporta and Kraft.
Okay.
Now, did you feel that way
before they drafted Boston?
Or just after?
Definitely did not feel that way before the draft.
I probably would have put him behind Leporta.
If Leporta is okay, no injuries, no concerns,
after the Concepcion pick.
And now I think it's easy to,
if Kraft is healthy,
especially with what Green Bay has lost.
So, you know, you look at those other players, opportunities,
coaching changes, I think for everybody.
It just feels like Fanon is losing a little bit.
You know, losing to fancy was big.
I guess I would say that a lot of round two wide receivers
produce almost nothing as rookies.
So it's not about necessarily producing versus what they take away from somebody else.
Yeah, but someone's going to take something away.
I just think that Boston is a guy that we kept seeing mocked in round one.
So, for example, if this had been Jeremy Bernard instead of Denzel Boston or Antonio.
It would have been a really bad fit with Casey Conception.
Yeah.
Well, yeah, fine.
If it had been Malachi Fields instead of Denzo Boston, you know, would you feel the same way?
Or is it Boston specifically that?
I think it's just, it's obviously Boston being part of it.
But I think also it's just two of their picks in the first two rounds going to that position.
with a new coaching staff is not necessarily an indictment on Fanon
because he think he's got an opportunity to be special,
but you're just adding competition.
Like last year,
it's almost like the Brian Thomas argument from last year going into 2020,
from 2024 to 2025.
Like everything he did at the end of the season was with nothing around him.
And then now you added players around him or guys got healthy.
Like Fanon did everything with Jerry Judy and nothing else,
with really nothing around him because Jerry Judy stunk.
This is another one of those situations like the Jets where,
all of a sudden it's a pretty good situation, I think, for the quarterback, if the quarterback's any good at all.
Yeah, that's not forget.
The first pick that the Browns made was actually an offensive tackle, Spencer Fenno.
So if he's good, that was the ninth overall pick.
Now, do how many teams hit on each of their first three picks, but if they hit on two of these three,
Fano and one of the wide receivers, they hit on, you know, it looks like Judkins probably going to be pretty good, I hope, anyway.
and Fanon great.
So, yeah, they're building a nice roster there.
Fanon, though, his superpower last year
was his target per out run rate.
He was, I think, number one in target for out run.
Yeah, he led all tight ends.
28 tight ends of 50 or more targets.
Harold Fanon Jr. led them in target per out run rate.
I will be more excited.
I agree with Jamie.
This was a hit on him.
How big of a hit is partially influenced by who the quarterback is.
I'm going to be much more excited about Fanon if they start the Eurrish Dore
than if they do with Deshawn Watson.
All right.
To the round three wide receivers, we had Clemsons, Antonio Williams going to Washington.
On a scale of, let's do an excitometer, excitement o meter, scale of 0.10.
How excited are you for fantasy purposes for Antonio Williams to Washington?
If anybody is over a five, I'd be shocked.
So I'll say four.
Four was what I was thinking.
what's to prevent him from having a pretty significant role?
I mean, not much, but again, you're looking at day three guy.
You've already illustrated what that means in terms of fantasy production.
So that's part of it.
History is not on their side.
You are still talking about a team that can still, I think, add some bodies to it,
but is he better than the guys they already have?
So you have former first round pick, Traylon Burks.
We know what that's worked out to be.
We have Diami Brown, who's been part of this organization on and off.
for a couple of years.
You have Van Jefferson.
You have Luke McCaffrey.
Like, I hope Williams is better than those guys.
He has an opportunity to be better than those guys.
Or is he just another one of those guys?
And so, you know, if you're telling me who's the second commander's receiver that I'll be drafting right now, it's Antonio Williams.
But my excitement for him, it's minimal.
All right.
How about Malachi Fields to the Giants?
The Giants traded a fourth round pick, a fifth round pick, and next round.
year's fourth round pick to move up into the third round and take malachi fields at a notre dame he's
uh six five two hundred and eighteen pounds he ran a four six one barf i actually hated this that
i'm not the i will say i had uh matt waldman always gets to choose his position whenever
we're any rookie previews on the dynasty show and he chose wide receiver and i had him on for
part one so we did the top five and malachi fields was not part of that
But Malachi Fields was part of his top five.
Wow.
Really?
Yes, he really liked Malachi Fields.
Did he say that on the show?
Yes.
I listened to that episode.
I don't remember saying.
We had an entire segment that was just devoted to Malachi Fields
because I knew that he liked him and he wasn't on the rundown.
So yes, listen, we've talked about 40 times in wide receivers a lot on the show.
it's not a very good correlation.
Oh, 4-6?
Find me a 4-6-wide receiver.
Jerry Rice is like a 4-7.
He's not that good.
I mean, 4-6 is bad, but okay, fine.
Look, he's big, so he's going to run slower 40 times.
I didn't like the fact that they traded three picks,
including next year's fourth, but fair enough.
All right, so a 0 to 10 on Malachi field.
It's a nice opportunity.
I don't think it's that great of an opportunity, actually.
Three.
Three, four.
Okay, how about next up, Caleb Douglas to the dolphins?
Two.
Two.
Zachariah Branch to the Falcons.
Zachariah Branch is small, super fast, big yak guy.
Three.
Three.
Who's got a better, I mean, it's an easy question, I guess, but who's got a better opportunity?
Branch on the Falcons or Antonio Williams on the commanders?
Williams.
Jacobi Lane to the Ravens.
Two.
One.
This was another one that kind of was like interesting to see him go.
This early, six, four, 200 pounds.
Kind of toolsy, Jacoby Lane, more of a projection, I think.
Isaiah likely his replacement.
No.
He's not a tight end.
DeAndre Hopkins kind of player.
No, I don't know.
Rashad Bateman kind of player.
That's my fear.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, Chris Brazel.
Chris, this one's fun.
Brazzle to the Panthers.
Three.
Yeah, two and a half.
How come so low?
They already have a lot of wide receivers on the team, and they didn't, like, I just don't think taking a wide receiver at this point in the draft.
And there were, like, there's already always a lot of questions with the wide receiver coming out of Tennessee.
But there were also questions about his.
profile and whether a team thought that he was like a go-to guy.
He's not going to be the one.
He's probably not going to be the two, I don't think.
He is, yeah, he kind of profiles.
Like, okay, he's six foot four, Chris Brasel.
He ran a 4-3-7-40.
So I looked at a field stretcher.
What's that?
Yeah, yeah, field stretcher, Jamie.
You're right.
So I looked at some of the wide receivers since 2005 who have been 6-foot-4 and ran a 4-4-40
or better.
He ran 4-37.
You do have Calvin Johnson in there.
And you D.K. Metcalfe, but a lot of these guys are field stretchers.
Christian Watson, Stephen Hill, Marquez Valdez Scantling.
They're just like a bunch of names like that.
And that's not great for fantasy.
Georgia statewide receiver Ted Hurst to Tampa Bay.
Three.
Three.
Zavion Thomas out of LSU to the Bears.
Negative five.
Zero.
So as Mike Renner says, you're looking at the draft tracker here.
I think we've reached the we're drafting kick returners portion of the draft.
So yeah, he's 4.28, but probably a special team's guy at least to start.
And Chris Bell to the Dolphins.
Usually probably when you're asking us numbers on a scale and you just say he's a 428,
specified.
4-8-40. You're right. He ran a 4-28. That's insane, Zavion Thomas.
I'm going to give Chris Bell a 4-4-4.
wait.
Okay.
Chris Bell, I'll say five.
Who's got some hidden dynasty value here at Heath?
Well, I think Hurst and Bell are probably, I mean, Brazel might.
That's Ted Hurst to the bucks, Chris Bell to the dolphins, Chris Brazzle to the Panthers.
I think if you're looking for like an optimistic view of a couple of.
these guys like the two smaller receivers of Williams and branch like you're hoping for like a
Wondell Robinson type situation yeah and we'll talk about tight ends in a moment we're going to take a
break there were a ton of tight ends that came off the board in rounds two and three still more of the
show yeah there is and then we're going to do a detailed offensive line breaktown we're going to talk
about hand position why don't you ask us our veterans that were impacted and not impacted by the draft
saving that wonderful topic for tomorrow.
Well, we talked about Fanon.
What do you think people have enjoyed more so far?
Us breaking down the day two draft picks or Dave's video of him weightlifting.
We'll be right back.
I'll tell you which movie I started and will soon finish.
During the draft.
Yeah, I would have loved to.
When we come back on fantasy football today.
Local news is in decline across Canada.
And this is bad news for all of us.
With less local news, noise, rumors, and misinformation fill the void.
And it gets harder to separate truth from fiction.
That's why CBC News is putting more journalists in more places across Canada,
reporting on the ground from where you live,
telling the stories that matter to all of us.
Because local news is big news.
Choose news, not noise.
CBC News.

Who's winning the prickly?
Hillary Thomas' comments is the best thing all night.
Now, we can't read twice.
We can't read that.
Yes, you can.
No.
What do you mean?
All right, so we do have a YouTube poll.
I didn't realize this.
Which FFT analyst has the most prickly personality?
Adam, Jamie, Dave Heath.
I'm going to vote.
I voted for Jamie.
You're in 30.
Yeah.
Dave only has 3% of the vote.
Yeah.
I am 35% Heathie.
You're in the lead at 38%.
Okay.
Okay.
So, yeah, I've been watching a movie that I've never seen before.
It's pretty good.
I'm about halfway done.
What's eating Gilbert grape?
Hmm.
Good movie.
Okay, tight ends.
So you just like watch movies like TV shows?
Like you just watch like 30 minutes
And then come back to it later
He goes, he goes every 30 minutes
Takes a commercial break
And then he goes
I pretty much never have two hours
You know, just by myself
Or I don't have to do anything
I don't know
It's called being an adult
I know, yeah, that's fine
Yeah
All right, anyway, tight ends
We have Eli Stowers
Out of Vanderbilt going to the Philadelphia Eagles
Do you guys
Now that they've drafted
Lemon and Stowers
and, you know, obviously they have Goddard.
They won't have A.J. Brown, we think.
What do you think about Devante Smith?
When, let's say, you know, AJ Brown, let's just say he's traded.
You know, is this a bad draft for Devante Smith?
No. No.
I went back in Writers.
Imagine if they can't get a deal for A.J. Brown.
Like, this is going to be awful.
Oh, yeah.
This has got to be a handshake agreement.
All right.
So Stowers the Philadelphia.
Johnny's going to be a shirt.
Is he the second best?
Is he the second best dynasty tight end?
Yes.
Yeah.
Okay.
And not top, what do you think?
Top 15, top 20 in redraft this year?
I think I'm hopeful there's a couple of running backs past him.
No, no, no, I'm sorry.
I mean, I mean, as a tight end in redraft.
No, he's not that high.
No way.
In redraft, he's not a tight end.
He's not that high.
We're going to be drafting or redrafting.
Yeah, forget him.
All right, for this year.
We've got Texas A&M's Nate Borkature going to the Jaguars.
He's going to turn 25.
This year he's more of a blocker.
Yeah.
We've got Marlon Klein, a Houston.
What did you say?
The chat is killing you with the movies.
stuff.
I can't read this stuff.
Marlon Klein going to Houston.
He's more of a blocker.
No, he's not.
So he's a guy Marlon Klein that Josh Edwards really likes.
He said he's relatively new to the position.
The Michigan's offense isn't great for tight end production.
And he's got a reputation now as a blocker.
Oh man, a D-minus grade from Mike Renner.
The most head-scratching pick of the entire.
draft so far.
Yeah.
All right.
Well, he's a bit of a project.
We have Max Claire going to the Rams.
That's not great.
Sam Rosh,
people liked him.
So he's been enjoying Coltson Lovelin.
Guys on the Bears.
Helps a lot.
He's got a high drop rate,
8.8% drop rate last year.
It won't be a problem because they're never going to throw it.
Is there anything good that happened today?
I mean, honestly.
How about Oscar Delp to the Saints?
So this is a guy who's done almost nothing in terms of stats,
but he's a great athlete.
And, you know, some people had him very high in their tight-end ranking.
So Oscar Delp going to the Saints.
Not great for this year, but Jamie, what do you think about long-term with Delp?
Maybe.
I mean, there's going to be guys in this range for fantasy that you're going to
going to look at and say, okay, maybe.
And then they'll be one of the first guys you drop.
I mean, this draft is just so bad.
Like, again, like there's opportunities here.
Like clearly Stowers, you could see the path, right?
You see Dahl's got her gone after a year.
You see, you know, what he's been able to produce as a fantasy option.
You hope, okay, there's no A.J. Brown.
Maybe McCoy Lemon does not ascend to that type of level of production of different receivers,
but you get the point.
and that Stowers could become the second option in the passing game
or even maybe the,
you know,
maybe Devante Smith just never,
you know,
assumes that alpha role and it's lemon and stowers.
But yes,
there's a path for him.
There's,
you know,
based on,
you know,
John Johnson not being obviously a very young tight end,
you know,
Delp could get an opportunity to,
you know,
be a playmaker for Shuck and for the saints down the road.
But like,
I think if you read what,
what Mike Renner wrote,
you know,
everybody's getting their tight end two and tight end three.
Like they're getting players that they hope fit into their system that don't necessarily
have to have to be playmakers.
I was hoping for Max Claire to go someplace where he could be featured.
It's hard to like, you know, I go back to the drafts we did at the end of the season
and the off season.
Jacob was drafting Terrence Ferguson very high with the hope that he could be a significant
playmaker for the Rams, right?
How do both of those guys become playmakers?
There's just no way.
No.
So I would just point out that if you're watching the video
and you see these tight ends,
Eli Stowers, Nate Borkercher, Marlin Klein, Max Clare.
This is a fantasy football show.
So you're not on the wrong show.
Yeah, yeah.
All of them.
This is not an accident.
All of them were drafted before Travis Kelsey.
All of them were drafted before.
Harold Fannan Jr. was drafted.
It's a position where we get some pleasant surprises, you know?
So don't, you know, don't just completely discount them.
I didn't know that I didn't really think this was a bad year for tight ends.
I know last year was a great year for tight ends.
No, it's not.
It's, I think part of it's like every other position.
I've, I mean, I don't know how long I've been doing the dynasty and rookie thing,
but like, I can't remember a time where the,
The order that the skill position players were drafted in after the top five or six
was so much different than the order that everybody was hoping they would be drafted in.
Like we just got so many.
And it happened to tight end too.
It's just like every position.
It was just like a lot of guys we really weren't that excited about.
Yeah.
All right.
Some more tight ends after Claire went to the Rams.
We had Sam Roush to the Bears.
and wait, did I already say that one?
Yeah, yeah, I did.
We talked about how he had the problem with drops,
but it's not going to be a problem because they're not going to throw to him.
And then you talked about Oscar Delp and how he didn't have any production,
but he's a really exciting athlete.
I think you're ready for the next one.
Will Kazmeric of Ohio State going to the Dolphins.
He's a blocker.
The other Ohio State Titans.
He's a blocker.
And Eli Raritan from Notre Dame going to the Patriots.
that one could pay off down the road.
That's intriguing one because you got Hunter Henry
near the end of his career
and you know Josh McDaniels has used the tight end
very well before.
So it could be AJ Brown,
Romeo Dobbs and Raritan as early as 2027.
After Raritan, we had Sam Roush to the Bears
kind of an issue with drops.
Oscar Delp.
And let's see, were there any teams
I mean, it was cool to see the Cardinals draft
Chase Basantis, interior offensive lineman,
second pick of round two.
We know they need to beef up their offensive line for Carson Beck.
I wish the Raiders would have taken Denzel Boston.
Yeah.
I don't know if there's any...
The Browns drafted an offensive tackle in round three
after drafting one in round one.
we're going to have to draft one of Trey Tucker or Jalen Naylor
yeah or Besh
or Besh one of them
so we are currently trying to figure out what we're going to do for the Saturday show
and the availability of Heath and Jamie is unclear
also we have well no we're available you're just not
I'm available what are you talking about
no we're available at a very specific time you're just going to be busy
what time are you available about 8 o'clock
8 o'clock.
We always do it right after the draft.
I've never been on the Saturday show before.
Yeah, we do it right after the draft.
I'll be available.
And I don't know if you guys are going to be on.
So would you like to tell me?
So wait, let me ask you a question.
If you cannot find someone to do the show with you
because you've already been turned down by one person already
and you're not sure if the guests you're going to get is available.
So if you don't have anybody to do the show,
Heath and I do this show without you.
I mean, I don't think I'll be missing much.
It sounds pretty fantastic to Adam.
I don't know why you gave them that idea.
No, I want to do the show.
I like doing the show.
But my question was, if you're not on tomorrow,
tell me right now who you think which NFL veterans
are going to move the most in your rankings.
Tomorrow?
No, from the NFL draft, you know,
on Monday when we do our ranking show.
Just who do you think it'll be?
the most.
I mean, obviously,
James Connor and Tyler Al Jir took a free fall.
Yep.
That was the right answer.
Manuel Wilson and George Halani,
I think I took out of my rankings.
Okay.
I'm trying to think just the guys from day one.
Jerry Judy gone,
Calvin Ridley gone.
And these were late round guys anyway,
but Harold Fanon's going to slip.
Just one guy we mentioned already.
drop Garrett Wilson a couple spots
just because of the two additions that they made
in the passing game.
Alave fell a couple spots.
Alave did fall a couple spots.
I think just looking at it like
we don't have to move
and he said it already
but still could get these guys on day three
but like Pollard
he didn't move because he didn't get
love.
Scataboo didn't move because he didn't get love.
stuff like that.
Well, I think we just did our Saturday show.
Well, we did our Monday show too.
We did our Monday show too.
Yeah.
Now, a Monday, we'll talk about the rookie rankings and...
How have you had time to watch movies?
What did you say?
How have you had time to watch movies with these NBA playoffs?
They've been fantastic.
Great Boston game tonight.
Great, great Lakers game.
Oh, didn't see that.
I'm also reading a book for the first time in,
15 years or something like that.
There's no way that's true.
It's true.
I read the C-Spot Go.
I read two chapters.
What pop-up book is it?
No, I'll tell you, man.
I am in a huge tennis funk.
I'm playing so poorly.
So my friend...
Do you mean tennis for dummies?
My friend told me to read this book called the Inner Game of Tennis, which a lot of
tennis players have read.
It's very, very popular.
So I started it.
I have a huge match on Monday.
Come on.
I need you guys to pull from me.
We need to win this match.
Have to.
Is there money online?
No, it's our season opener.
And if I don't play well, the captain's going to lose faith in me, and he's not going to play
me that much.
Johnny is great.
Adam read two pages and we'll come back to it in a few days.
Now, I'm going to finish it this weekend.
I have to.
I have to finish it by Monday.
Why are you in a funk?
What's going on?
I don't know.
Like check knob block type of situation?
Is it your softball swing?
It's ruining your tennis swing?
You had a walk off the other day.
You walked off and they collapsed.
I had a walkoff in softball.
It was a walkoff.
It was a walkoff, five a second in the game.
No, we won.
It was a bases loaded, nobody out.
I hit a fly ball that got behind the left fielder who was playing a little bit in.
And we won 14 to 2.
We run, ruled them.
14 to 2?
Yeah, we run ruled them.
It was a lot off.
No, I just want to imagine in a game where you're up 13 to 2.
Yeah.
And the left fielder sees you come out.
to play to the plate.
Like how far in was he?
Was he in grass?
Grass or dirt?
Legitimately, this was the farthest I ever hit a ball.
He was shocked.
And he probably could have caught if you wanted to.
Grass or dirt.
Oh.
I have probably right on the edge.
They were playing double short stops on you.
My son had the worst walk-off hit ever last week where base is loaded, two outs.
and the win was just crazy.
So the ball off his bat, he's lefty.
Ball off his bat, 13 years old, I'll be 14 this week.
Ball off the bat.
I'm coaching third.
It looked like it's going to go over the first basement's head.
And all of a sudden I see the second basement go back
and then a dead sprint.
And the pitcher had no idea what happened.
It landed right behind the pitcher's down.
And we walk off and win the game.
The wind just carried like it just flipped it back the other way.
Walk off to walk off.
Yeah, I love it.
That's a real walk off.
No, that was terrible.
Yeah, but I mean, a mercy rule of walkoff doesn't really count.
I just trying to sell the drama.
All right, we'll talk to you on Saturday after the third day of the NFL draft
where three more running backs will be taken and not the ones that we expect.
We'll talk to you then. See you.
On podcasts.
