Are we doing this emergency pod because Miles Sanders is out for week one,
Deebo Samuels on IR, and Corton Sutton's a game time decision?
Or did Jamie Eisenberg just miss me and really wanted to talk to me on Saturday?
You know, it was his idea.
So I think, uh, I think he missed me. What's up, Jamie?
I definitely did not miss you. I absolutely did not miss you.
I hate that we're already cashing lottery tickets, but we're cashing lottery tickets already, buddy.
We'll see, we'll see.
Boston Scott only rostered in 70% of CBS leagues
as we record this at about 5 o'clock p.m. Eastern on Saturday.
And we'll be quick here.
All right, where are you putting Boston Scott in your rankings
as Miles Sanders is out and he gets the Washington football team in week one?
Top 20.
I mean, you know, Miles Sanders was a borderline number one RB this week,
and I think you look at what the setup is, as we saw from Scott last season,
he was fantastic when he got a chance to get extended work.
The biggest example was obviously week 17 last year when Miles Sanders left,
I believe it was against the Giants and Sanders scored three touchdowns,
but he had two games last year with 10 or more carries.
One was against the Giants.
Both of them were against the Giants, excuse me.
So the first one against the Giants in non-PPR,
he got you 10 for 59, six catches for 69, and a touchdown.
And the last game against the Giants, he had 19 carries for 54 yards,
four catches for 84 yards.
And so he was fantastic in those two games.
So, I mean, you see what the, what the ability is there.
They'll give him, you know, double digit carries.
I don't think that's going to be a surprise with miles Sanders,
not playing.
It's just a matter of how much work will they give Corey Clement.
I think the catches are going to be huge for, for Boston Scott.
No, I mean,
it's got a real opportunity because he was kind of splitting catches with
miles Sanders.
This could be a five-plus catch game.
Is that out of line?
Oh, I'd be surprised if it's not at least five.
Okay, yeah.
In those final four games, he had six, seven, six, and four,
and three of those were with Sanders playing.
Okay, so the Philadelphia Eagles will go with Boston Scott,
and who are you going to start? If you're a fantasy manager, you're going to go with Boston Scott, and who are you going to start?
If you're a fantasy manager, you're going to go with Boston Scott over whom?
Both Browns guys, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt.
Jonathan Taylor, I don't know if that's a big surprise.
What about Marlon Mack?
I got to ask that.
I said Mack.
I would start Mack, yes.
Mack's got such an easy matchup, but that's the range.
Raheem Mostert. I would start Scott, yes. Mac's got such an easy matchup, but that's the range. Raheem Mostert.
I would start Scott.
Kenyon Drake. Scott.
Le'Veon Bell.
Scott.
Deshaun Jackson.
Scott.
How about Odell Beckham?
Scott.
What do you think about Corey Clement?
Corey Clement? Corey.
I mean, you know, I know you picked him up.
We're in an IDP league that's got 27 roster spots.
You know, 14-team league, 16-team league.
That's the type of move for Corey Clement.
Because, you know, I think they seem to trust Boston, Scott.
You know, this is what we talked about a lot. You know, I know when Ben Gretsch was with us,
he was hammering this point home as well. It's just, you're looking at a
guy that's in a good situation that has, you know, the ability to catch the ball back for those you
alluded to. So I think he's going to have a pretty big game, you know, and hopefully Miles Sanders
is back in week two, but this is troubling. The fact that he can't get on the field for week one
after he was, you know, we've been running him up the flagpole as this superstar.
And now it's frustrating.
This is the downside of when you buy into a player early and they don't play.
The only thing I want to say about Boston Scott, really it's about Corey Clement.
Boston Scott is like 5'6". So I'm just wondering if they really would trust him for a full workload
or if he's definitely the passing downs guy
and maybe gets a pretty even share of the carries with Corey Clement.
I think the Giants game.
Now, forget about the production.
The Giants game in week 14 is probably what you're looking at.
Ten carries, six catches.
So let's say it's 12 carries and four catches.
So somewhere in the neighborhood of 16 total touches
is probably where he's
going to live.
That's fine.
So what does that leave for Clement?
Just,
just for deep league stuff you're saying,
I mean,
probably six or seven carries and two or three catches on top of it.
All right.
Fair enough.
But in that giants game,
that's just what he did.
He averaged 5.9 yards per carry and he averaged 11.5 yards per catch.
Yeah.
He scored a touchdown,
you know,
so for the record in the second giants game, he averaged 2.8 yards per carry. He scored a touchdown. For the record, in the second Giants game, he averaged 2.8 yards per carry.
That was his other game with extended work.
I'm really interested to see how this goes because he is so small.
I guess Clyde Edwards-Ziegler didn't have a big problem.
But at 5'6", you don't see a lot of running backs like that.
We'll see what kind of workload they give him.
We'll also see how tough of a matchup it is.
Last year, it was a great matchup.
But you look at the defensive line for Washington, it should be pretty good.
Either way, this is an exciting opportunity
if you draft the Boston Scott, which we were telling you to do
over and over again. Revamped offensive line
for the Eagles, too. They're moving guys around.
Jason Peters is going to go back to left tackle and
right guard, so things are in flux.
Okay. Debo
Samuel out for at least three weeks.
He's on IR. Any
reaction there? We'll find out if Brandon Ayuk is going to be weeks. He's on IR. Any reaction there?
We'll find out if Brandon Ayuk is going to be active.
That's the key part of this.
But, you know, I think if you're in deeper leagues,
I go take a look at Kendrick Bourne and Trent Taylor.
You know, those are two guys that get a boost if Ayuk doesn't play.
You know, they're just not going to throw the kiddle and the running backs all day long.
We're going to find out.
I guess at the time that we're recording this as far as i know the
game is still in san francisco on sunday there was some talk about maybe moving the game to
arizona on monday um because of the fires that are happening on the west coast and affecting the
san francisco area the bay area um as a result the only reason i bring this up tevin coleman
because of his sickle cell trait yeah they said there's a chance he may not play if he does not
play jerek mckinn because of the receiver injuries,
becomes a little bit more of a factor.
So if you are stuck with the Boston Scott, I'm assuming the Miles Sanders injury,
and Jarek McKinnon's out there, that's a guy you can look at in a deeper league again.
We're not talking about most 10 and 12-team leagues,
but anything larger than that, that's something you should keep an eye on.
But if there is no Samuel, as we're aware now,
and Ayuk does not play, deeper leagues,
I would look at Bourne before Taylor,
but they seem to like Trent Taylor a lot as well.
So both those guys would certainly be in play for the 49ers.
And I know on Friday's show, you were talking about Garoppolo.
He can't be trusted without these receivers.
So it's just more two quarterback leagues than anything else
okay jamie finally uh courtland sudden we're waiting it's going to be a game time decision
but he's monday night and he's the second monday night game yeah so what do you do if you have
courtland sutton well if you want to wait it out if you're stuck um i would go look at james
washington who plays in the first mond Monday night game I would look if you're
desperate Corey Davis or Adam Humphreys who play in the first Monday night game Chase Claypool
second Monday night game I'm sorry Humphreys and Davis playing second Monday I apologize
guys who play Monday night you know so if you are if you're trying to wait this out
even a step further deeper leagues Tim Patrick and Deshaun Hamilton, just because those guys would play if play more, if, if Sutton is out,
but you know, the hope is week one, you have some, you know,
replacement options. I tweeted on Friday, some guys, not just for Sutton,
but also for Galladay and Evans who are waiting to find out their status.
But you know, it starts with Anthony Miller,
who's 60% rostered on cbssports.com leagues
and it includes guys like stephen sims um van jefferson i'm trying to think of the whole list
of guys i put out there stephenson van jefferson uh scott miller you know these are the replacement
options you're paris campbell i know someone you mentioned a lot paris campbell's on there
michael pitman in the same game you know these are guys that are available. LaVisca Chenault is,
is,
you know,
a good one and has some long-term appeal.
So,
uh,
you know,
I,
I would personally,
I try and be cautious with it.
You know,
I know they upgraded Evans by the time you're listening to this,
you probably know Evans was upgraded to questionable from doubtful.
So there's a chance he may play,
but I think at this point you got to assume that no Gallaudet,
no Evans,
no Sutton. And Sutton's the one that you're gonna to assume that no Gallaudet, no Evans, no Sutton.
And Sutton's the one that you're going to have to really manage the most
because of the money making.
All right, well, I'm going to have to figure out
what I'm doing the rest of the day.
And it's basically going to be determining
what to do with all this extra FanDuel money I have
because Miles Sanders is out,
Boston Scott is in,
and I am going to upgrade somewhere else. But gonna upgrade somewhere else um but imagine if you drafted
sanders evans and galladay or sanders and to one of those guys and sutton how you feel right now
a very realistic scenario too like round round one sanders round three one of those two wide
receivers round four or five maybe courtlandland Sutton. Yeah, that would stink.
Ooh, Boston's got 4,700.
I got so much money.
He's the free play.
He's the free space.
Yeah, I got so much.
Everybody's been playing, but sometimes you just get,
you got to do it.
I think I'm going to get maybe a little McCaffrey in here now.
All right, that's Jamie Eisenberg.
Thanks so much.
