This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
I know I can.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
This is going to go the distance.
Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
Good morning, everybody.
Welcome to your Thursday show.
Week 8 begins tonight with the Bucs and the Bills.
Chris Godwin and Baker Mayfield are going to play tonight.
Vida Veya, their defensive tackle, will be a game-time decision.
And we previewed that one yesterday, so let's get to eight mostly AFC home games.
We'll talk about Jacksonville at Pittsburgh, New Orleans at Indianapolis,
Cleveland at Seattle, Atlanta at Tennessee,
Houston at Carolina,
New England at Miami. Did you know that
Tua Tungabailoa has never even scored
19 fantasy points
against the Patriots in six-point-per-passing
touchdown leagues? Kansas
City at Denver. Did you know that the Broncos
have the lowest time
of possession and have run the fewest plays per game in the NFL?
Hard to be good in fantasy with that.
And Chicago is at the Chargers as well.
And Heath, did you know that every week,
I ask Jamie for one stinking favor
to make Trevor Lawrence the star of the week
so we can get some of those good vibes,
and he never does it.
So Jamie, who did you shun Trevor Lawrence for this week? Who do we love? Who's our star of the week so we can get some of those good vibes and he never does it. So, Jamie, who did you shun Trevor Lawrence for this
week? Who do we love? Who's our star of the week?
Trevor Lawrence.
CJ Stroud.
I like the
narrative. You know,
guy who was taken second overall facing the guy who was
first overall. And the guy who was second
overall has been significantly better.
But it's a great matchup. I mean, I think we've seen
the last two times the Panthers have played defense. They have not been good against opposing quarterbacks
in Tua and Jared Goff and Stroud has had a couple of down games for him, but four of his starts
this season have been for 18 or more fantasy points. I'm sorry, five of his starts, three of
them have gone for 24 or more points.
So I think he's got
the high-end potential to be a top-five
quarterback. I don't have him ranked that way. I have him ranked eighth.
But I love the upside,
the narrative, the matchup.
They're down Jeremy Chan. They're down
Gross Matos. So down to
key defenders as well. So it's set
up for Stroud to have a big
week. Yeah, I was going to mention the injuries
because not only have they struggled lately,
and mostly the Panthers struggle against the run.
They're arguably the worst run defense in football.
So Damian Pierce will be an interesting guy to talk about.
But they are
down. Since the last time we saw them,
two defensive players, as Jamie just
mentioned, a pass rusher and a safety.
So even worse
on paper for the Carolina uh carolina panthers and
that is cj stroud's matchup and he is our start of the week heath how about you who do you love
this week you know i've been literally the whole time you guys were talking i didn't hear anything
you said i'm scrolling through the show notes to fight try to find some rankings dispute you've
highlighted where i'm higher on a guy because I really strike I thought
I'd say Jameer Gibbs because he's my number two running back this week but everybody's starting
Jameer Gibbs that's not super helpful I thought maybe I'd say Jonathan Taylor because the highest
I've ranked him all season he's RB 14 everybody's probably starting Jonathan Taylor I was gonna say
Adam Thielen he's back everybody's starting Adam Thielen um I had a hard time finding a guy like
who was kind of tricky that I loved I agree with Stroud, and I think it's good that Jamie chose the better quarterback.
But can I just say, Jameer Gibbs, top two running back this week?
Yeah.
You know what?
I have an idea.
Let's pivot to something.
I think all three.
First of all, it's weird.
When I look at ranking disputes, Heath is always lower.
He's never higher on it.
How is that possible?
It's not.
It's not possible.
But he's always lower. I want to ask you it. How is that possible? It's not possible, but he's always lower.
I want to ask you guys about someone that you're all high on,
and Dave, you can chime in too.
Just kidding, Dave's not here.
But you're all high on DJ Moore,
and he's a guy who has had less than 60 yards
in each of the last two games with Tyson Bajent.
This is, I think, the last game I have scheduled for us to talk about today,
so it's not coming up for a while.
You're all high on DJ Moore,
and I know he had two almost touchdowns last week,
one receiving, one rushing,
but we're talking about a team that's thrown
for something like 130 yards and 180 yards
in each of their last two games.
I understand the matchup's good,
but Tyson Bajent won't throw downfield, really.
So should you really be that high on DJ Moore, top 15, Heath?
Well, that's the funny thing, is based on the projections,
I think I lowered DJ Moore like seven spots.
Based on where he's performed for the season on a per-game basis,
I think I lowered him like seven spots.
I do think that this Chargers defense is just a disaster.
I saw a chart from the Chiefs' pass attempts against them,
and it was just so obvious they were attacking the middle of the field
because every time somebody caught the ball in the middle of the field,
there was nobody within 10 yards of them.
They're just getting torched.
And so Tyler Bajent might throw for 200 yards,
but 40% of them are going to DJ more.
Okay.
Uh,
all right.
So start DJ more.
Let's see who,
how about Heath since you're low on everyone,
uh,
any players to avoid this week?
I'm avoiding Joe burrow.
Um,
I just like,
there've been two quarterbacks who have scored more than 15 fantasy points against the
49ers. Burrow has not shown us yet that he's fine. And he's going on the road to play a team that's
lost back-to-back games. We think one of the best teams in the NFL, one of the best defenses in the
NFL. I think it's just a terrible spot. And I think Brock Purdy being out probably makes things
worse for him. It probably means 49ers are going to run the ball and control the ball even a little
bit more. Cincinnati's past defense has been okay.
They're giving up over five yards per carry.
So I,
I just,
I don't like this spot at all for burrow.
I'm staying away.
Heath mentioned Brock Purdy Purdy's in the concussion protocol,
not ruled out yet,
but we'll be tough for him to get back in time.
And actually a lot of injuries.
I,
we went into the week.
I feel like not in such bad injury shape.
The Wednesday practice report was bad.
Now, that doesn't necessarily mean much, but you got Tyreek Hill,
you got Raheem Mostert, you got Ken Walker not practicing.
So we'll talk about all those things and see which ones we're actually concerned about.
So Heath says avoid Joe Burrow at San Francisco,
and San Francisco needs to get their pass rush going.
Jamie, who are you avoiding this week?
I would like to avoid Brian Robinson.
I'll put Javante Williams in there,
two questionable running backs that we kind of,
you know, are on the fence, I think, almost every week.
But Robinson has been so touchdown dependent
basically the last month
and scored against Philadelphia in week four,
but not a great stat line on top of it.
I think he has in his last four games,
if I remember correctly, I can look it up if you want the exact number it's like 100 rushing
yards in four games it's it's not great um maybe it's three games but it's not great and philly is
just getting better defensively so it's going to be i think a tough tough day for him if he doesn't
find the end zone and then for giovante um you're now seeing him, I think,
establish himself as the lead guy, which is nice.
But they're still going to use McLaughlin.
They're still going to use Samaj P. Ryan.
It's probably a negative game script because they're chasing points.
I know he averaged five yards per carry in the game two weeks ago,
but 10 for 52 is not going to cut it when you're not working the passing game.
And the lack of touchdowns is clearly alarming.
So I buy into this Chiefs run defense.
Even without Bolton there, I think it'll be tough.
All right. We got a new show to tell you about. It's from Sportsline. It's called Inside the
Lines. If you are interested in gambling, you have to have to check this out. If you're not
interested, you will become interested. OK, this is a behind the scenes show that takes you with
the brains behind the Sportsline simulation, showing you line movement throughout the week,
injuries that are going to impact matchups,
and early value plays using the model's projections.
You can get ahead of the lines and the public every weekday
with data and analysis that you can't find anywhere else,
and it's at youtube.com slash sportsline.
This is every weekday, youtube.com slash sportsline,

All right, this is really exciting.
Check it out, youtube.com slash sportsline,
1 p.m. Eastern every weekday.
News and notes.
Okay, Brock Purdy in the concussion protocol
facing the Bengals.
Jalen Hurts is banged up,
but he's expected to play.
Kyler Murray practiced in full.
Do you guys think there's any chance
we have Kyler Murray playing
this week against Baltimore?
I think from what
we saw, the reports were
they're aiming for week 10.
So either they're just trying to ramp him up
and make sure he's good to go, or there is a
legitimate chance, I guess. You have to put it
out there. But he did practice in full last week
also, so I'm going to guess, why throw him
out there against Baltimore?
Why not wait until it's a little bit of a softer landing spot?
So I think they go on the road next week, and then they come back home to play Atlanta.
So that makes more sense.
And plus, James Conner's probably back for that as well.
So that timing kind of adds up to give him a better piece around him.
All right.
P.J. Walker's going to start for Cleveland.
So Ryan Tannehill has this high ankle sprain.
If he does not play, Will Levis is going to start for Cleveland. So Ryan Tannehill has this high ankle sprain. If he does not play,
Will Levis is expected to start according to a report,
but both quarterbacks are expected to play.
Speaking of players to avoid,
we are avoiding DeAndre Hopkins this week.
Yep.
I would like to, yeah.
I mean, look, Levis might be better for him than Tannehill.
There's no, I think, way to look at it and say Tannehill's been great for him.
So maybe there's a benefit.
But if they're shuffling in and out quarterback,
did you hear what Vrabel said yesterday?
What did he say?
He said it could be every series.
It could be every other series.
It could be we're sending one in with a play.
I mean, it just sounds like it could be a nightmare.
So, yeah, Hopkins does not feel safe at all.
He's got to show off for Arthur Smith.
You think you're funny.
Watch this.
Yeah.
You didn't want to use your quarterback.
Well, I'll use two.
All right.
Daniel Jones still not cleared for contact.
So not sure he's going to play this week against the Jets.
Running back Raheem Mostert mispracticed with an ankle injury,
and Ken Walker mispracticed with a calf injury.
So, look, it's Wednesday.
These guys didn't leave their games early, but they just mispracticed.
But, you know, see if Jeff Wilson's available.
See if Savan Ahmed's available.
See if Zach Charbonnet is available.
He's available in one of my leagues.
Mostert and Walker will be keeping an eye on.
Roshan Johnson, practice in full.
He's still in the concussion protocol, but trending in the right direction.
Are you expecting Roshan Johnson to play this week, guys?
We have not ranked him yet, but it's obviously trending in that direction.
So, yes, at this point, you should be expecting him to play.
To what degree and what impact he has on Deontay Foreman,
that's the million-dollar question,
but I'm still starting Foreman at this point,
even if Roshan plays.
Miles Sanders practiced in full up against Houston this week.
Aaron Jones missed practice.
He should play, but they are easing him in.
Alvin Kamara missed practice with an illness.
Zach Moss missed practice for undisclosed reasons.
Kareem Hunt, I don't think he practiced, but he is expected to play.
Kareem Hunt.
All right, wide receiver.
Tyreek Hill has a hip injury.
So we'll keep our fingers crossed on that one.
DK Metcalf is expected to play.
Tyler Lockett mispracticed.
Christian Watson practiced in full.
So now I do have to make the Gabe Davis-Christian Watson decision.
We're going to take that right up until game time.
Zay Jones mispracticed.
Curtis Samuel mispracticed.
Debo Samuel mispracticed.
We're not expecting Debo to play.
Houston wide receiver Robert Woods is not practicing.
At tight end, TJ Hawkinson mispracticed.
Remember, he got beat up a couple times.
Very funny moment in that game where Kevin Stefanski was saying,
TJ, get down, get down, get down, get down. He finally got down and stopped the clock. But later in the game, he got beat up a couple times. Very funny moment in that game where Kevin Stefanski was saying, TJ, get down, get down, get down, get down.
He finally got down and stopped the clock.
But later in the game, he hurt his foot.
He missed practice.
I'm assuming he'll be fine.
Gerald Everett, not expecting him.
He missed practice.
And Luke Musgrave did not practice.
Offensive line notes.
The Dolphins are going to be without their left guard.
Isaiah Wynn for a while, maybe for the season.
But Connor Williams, their center was limited after he missed week seven.
Laramie Tunsil practiced in full.
The Giants were without, I mean, a billion starting.
It's hard to even know who a starting lineman was for them.
But three clear starters they did not have last week against Washington.
All three of them, Andrew Thomas and Evan Neal, their two tackles,
and center John Michael Schmitz, they were limited,
hopefully going to play this week against the Jets.
And on defense, Ed Oliver for two defensive tackles,
questionable for tonight.
Ed Oliver for the Bills, Vita Bea for the Bucks.
If Ed Oliver doesn't play, would you be more optimistic about Rashad White?
Does it matter at all?
I mean, I'll go back to what I said yesterday.
Dave was talking about him running up the middle.
I don't care about that.
You're caring about Rashad White and what he does in the passing game.
His two best games this season have come when he's been involved in the passing game.
Last week was one of them.
He had 13 carries for 34 yards.
He had six catches.
That's what you need from Rashad White.
And I think that's still on the table.
The Bills have allowed four running backs in the last four weeks to catch at least four passes. So I think White's
not a slam dunk, but if you've been using him, continue to use him tonight, this week. And if
you need a flex or a number two running back, I like him better than Javante. I like him better
than Brian Robinson, for example. So he's in that range. All right. I'm keeping an eye on the Seattle
defense.
This is one that might be really beat up for their game against Cleveland.
They already lost their best edge rusher for the season.
And now Bobby Wagner and Jordan Brooks,
two starting linebackers were limited in practice limited on Wednesdays.
Probably a good sign. They did sign Frank Clark for whatever that's worth.
Yeah. And he's supposed to play past rusher. He's supposed to play,
but how much is he going to play?
He's not even with the team yet.
The Jets...
Look what they're playing, though.
I know, I know.
P.J. Walker's been a disaster.
You're down your starting running back,
two starting running backs,
if you want to go that route.
Yeah.
I don't know.
Seahawks defense still feels
like a pretty good play.
Well, if they don't have...
They'll probably have Wagner and Brooks.
But if they don't,
maybe we'd have to have that discussion again.
The Jets are going to get their top corners back.
Sauce Gardner and DJ Reed.
Green Bay is very beat up on defense.
Darnell Savage, their safety is going on IR.
So is Eric Stokes, who's been a
backup cornerback for them.
Good news, though. Jair Alexander and Devondre Campbell
practice. Two key members of their defense.
They get Minnesota this week.
Let's see. Tyson Campbell, Jacksonville's
cornerback. He was limited in
practice. He missed last week's game.
Eddie Jackson,
Bears safety, same thing. He missed last week, but he
was limited. Miami's two corners,
Jalen Ramsey and Zavian Howard,
they were limited in practice. Ramsey hasn't
played this year. Howard missed last week's game.
Miami was really injured, actually, in that game in Philadelphia,
hopefully getting a little healthier.
And for Baltimore, we'll keep an eye on safety.
Marcus Williams and linebacker Roquan Smith,
two very important players for them, especially Smith.
They both missed practice.
And Giants cornerback Adore Jackson was limited.
All right, I hope that was not too much news and notes for you here.
Let's go to one question for each game.
Jacksonville is at Pittsburgh.
Here's your question, Heath.
It's a demand.
I'm ordering you.
Rank the wide receivers, Jacksonville at Pittsburgh.
I don't know if you know this, but I did that on Tuesday morning,
and then I updated it on Wednesday morning,
and I'll probably update it again before the game tonight.
But I've got it.
Pickens, Kirk, then a small gap then ridley then a small gap then dionte pickens kirk ridley dionte jamie ranked pickens and kirk
are the two guys i have ranked as top 24 wide receivers ridley's top 30 dionte is a low in
number three i have it almost identical, except I have Kirk
slightly ahead of Pickens.
I will talk about this game shortly. It's our first
game, but this is
on paper the matchup
for Ridley. Not that it's not for Kirk,
but come on,
man. This is a week.
You got to get it done. New Orleans
at the Colts.
They really struggle. It's hard to say must-start guy, though, right? Oh, absolutely. Colts. Yeah. I mean, they really struggle.
It's hard to say must-start guy, though, right?
Oh, absolutely.
Of course.
Yeah, I'm not making that case.
But it looks like a better,
certainly looks like a better matchup
than New Orleans last week.
Speaking of New Orleans,
New Orleans at Indianapolis.
Okay, the Colts wide receivers,
they came through in a tough matchup last week.
Will they do it again this week, Jamie?
Will the Colts?
Wide receivers come through.
I think they're number three receivers.
I don't think you want to necessarily call Michael Pittman
a slam dunk because it is a tough matchup.
He's a borderline guy, certainly better
in PPR than non-and-half.
Downs, I don't think, has earned
must-start status yet against this type of
matchup, but in three-receiver leagues, it's hard to get away
from him. Pittman's still over over downs, but both number three receivers.
Yeah, I've got Pittman in the Pickens-Kirk range,
and I've got downs behind Ridley and Deontay.
See, you're high on Michael Pittman.
All right, we found someone you're higher on.
Cleveland at Seattle, rank the wide receiver.
This is all about wide receivers so
far unintentional here rank the wide receivers in this game cleveland at seattle metcalf
big space cooper
lockett smith najigma i do not have a wide receiver in this game ranked in my top 30 but it is metcalf then a gap
cooper and lockett are basically a coin flip and then jsn and it might be elijah over jsn but
all right yeah jsn um very different profile last week without Metcalf. Played out wide more, ran deeper routes,
scored on the busted coverage.
But that was a good sign.
Just, you know, we don't want him running
like super, super short routes out of the slot all game.
That might happen again, though, this week.
So would you guys start Calvin Ridley or DK Metcalf?
Ridley for me.
All right.
Atlanta at Tennessee
boy I really didn't mean to make these all about wide receivers
start or sit Drake London
who has an end zone target
in six straight games that's cool
start or sit Drake London at Tennessee
I like him better than everybody in the game we just talked about
and
I do like the fact that we're coming
off a game
where he scored 11 point something
PPR points under 12.
And that's now considered
a bad game for him.
I also like him better
than all the Seattle
and Cleveland wide receivers.
I had him ranked.
I think I think I'm like five spots
behind Dave and Jamie on him.
He's around wide receiver 30.
I had him ranked a little bit higher
before the switch to PJ Walker just because like or not switch. I would have him ranked a little bit higher before the switch to pj walker just because like
or not not so much because i would have him ranked a little bit higher if ryan daniel was playing
right but this game is like a over under of 36 and arthur smith might be able to get away with
run at 72 times all right that's drake london houston at carolina is this the damian Pierce week?
Yes.
I see this situation almost exactly like the two teams that are playing each other almost exactly the same.
I think Pierce and Sanders probably both get the first series.
I wouldn't be surprised if Chuba and Singletary get the second series. And if the backups are better, I wouldn't be surprised if they get more snaps.
Okay.
New England, and by the way, Jamie,
it's not like a resounding yes for you on Damian Pierce.
It's not like he's a must-start guy or anything.
No, but he's not far off.
I mean, you know, it's a week where we have everybody playing
and not a lot of significant injuries,
at least as of now, for running backs.
But I think he's still going to be the lead guy.
All right.
New England's at Miami.
Starter sit Ramondre Stevenson,
who has two straight games with six targets.
Heath, starter sit Stevenson.
He could not be more on the borderline.
I think he's right at RB24.
So he's a fine start.
If you need a flex, he's probably a good flex,
but low in number two running back.
And I think he's very, very similar in full PPR to Rashad White. It's almost the exact same hope.
I feel like Jamie, you're a little higher on Stevenson. Am I right?
Yeah, no, I like what I've seen the last two weeks. You know, I'm not worried about Zeke
stealing touchdowns. That's irrelevant to me. The fact that he's back involved in the passing
game is huge. And so you play the narrative
chasing points. They're probably going to be throwing. I think they'll be throwing to him.
He already had a 15 point game against them earlier this season. He did that on the ground.
So I don't think this Dolphins defense is one that you necessarily have to run away from.
You know, we've seen guys like Chuba Hubbard, for example, have good game against this team.
You know, they've been up a rushing touchdown, I think three of the last four games.
So again, that could be Zeke, but I think just Stevenson in the passing game,
to me,
that's what you drafted him for.
And it's back.
Does,
does that narrative change at all?
And I think that it's right now,
the spread's nine.
If we get to Friday and Tyreek's not practicing,
how far does that spread?
I can,
he moves at least three points,
doesn't he?
Uh,
you would assume,
you know,
and then if most are out,
that just changes everything
dramatically like if belichick can take waddle away and the top targets burrios
burrios uh first off i think it'd probably be cedric wilson respect okay um uh or chosen or
hold your breath no the top target will be waddle. I mean, he's still going to get the most targets.
The second most.
Well, I don't know if this matters to you,
but if you think about the two games
where they got absolutely destroyed,
Dallas and New Orleans,
those were horrible games for Stevenson.
Yeah, I don't think that happens.
All right.
He's had the five to six catches
in three competitive games,
Philadelphia, Las Vegas and Buffalo.
All right. Still outside of last week. Trailing.
Chicago at the Chargers. I am nervous about Deontay. Oh, wait, I skipped the game.
Whatever. Chicago at the Chargers. I'm nervous about Deontay Foreman. Are you?
No, I'll be a little more nervous if roshan's back i think and i can look this up i think the chargers run defense in terms of efficiency has been better lately oh great like very good yeah
yeah um it was funny my son came to me this morning embarrassed over an ad drop decision
that he made and wanted me to tell him it was okay um because he dropped t higgins for adam
phelan it's like it's like an eight team league and he just felt dumb i said no you get you got and wanted me to tell him it was okay because he dropped T. Higgins for Adam Thielen.
It's like an eight-team league, and he just felt dumb.
I said, no, you've got to do that.
He's three and four. You've got to get a win.
And then he was really upset because my ranking said to start Deontay Foreman over Derrick Henry,
and he can't imagine sitting Derrick Henry for Deontay Foreman.
If Roshan is moved into the rankings,
I will move Foreman behind Henry
and into that Rashad White-R Ramondre Stevenson range for me.
All right.
I just wonder, though, Roshan having not played for three weeks and still being a rookie, do they want to trust him to the level of what they've been doing with Deontay Foreman?
I just feel at this point like he's going to be Darrington Evans, a better version of that.
Maybe.
Like just somebody that they're using in a secondary role, like for at least the first game.
All right.
Well, for me, it's not even so much about Roshan Johnson, but I'll tell you what, I'll tease it.
We'll bring it up later when we preview the game.
It's a little bit about Roshan Johnson. but I'll tell you what, I'll tease it. We'll bring it up later when we preview the game. It's a little bit about Roshan Johnson.
Kansas City is at Denver.
Are you starting any Broncos
in this game?
No. I'd rather not.
I mean, Sutton and three receiver leagues
it's hard to get away from.
We've talked about a lot of receivers we don't really like this week.
Calvin Ridley and D.K.
Metcalf, maybe Josh Downs.
Sutton over any or all of those guys?
He's slightly ahead for me.
I think I have it like Sutton, Metcalf, Ridley, 29, 30, 31, something like that.
Okay.
And I think I have it Ridley, Sutton, Metcalf.
All right.
This is a number three receiver.
And we'll take a break.
When we come back, we'll start getting into the games with Jacksonville at Pittsburgh.
And I'll tell you a little bit more detail why this could be a good game for Calvin Ridley.
Fingers crossed.
We'll be right back on Fantasy Football today.

And Jacksonville is at Pittsburgh. Let's get to it here.
Here's a weird stat of the game.
You want to do a projection for Kenny? How many passing yards do you have Kenny Pickett projected for, Heath?
That's a good question.
I've got it right here.
He is projected for 219 yards.
You've got to go a little bit higher than that.
He has been between 222 and 235 yards in five of six games.
He does your projections for you, Heath.
Yeah.
Okay.
Glad we're on the same page.
Anyway, Pickett, you're not going to start.
Jacksonville is 24th against quarterbacks, though,
but kind of struggles against the good ones
and does well against the not-so-good ones.
Pittsburgh running backs, they both scored a touchdown last week.
Anybody have an interest in Najee Harris or Jalen Warren? So I'm really curious if last week is a sign of maybe something
changing that Najee, I don't know in terms of the splits, but just in terms of the counting stats,
more catches and more targets than Jalen Warren. The Jaguars now, a big part of it is what Alvin
Kamara did last week, but they lead the NFL and receptions allowed to running backs and so jaylen warren prior to their buy was in the among the leaders
of pass catching running backs he has 21 receptions at the time now he only has 22
so will he still do that to the same level because if he does this is a good matchup they've allowed
five running backs to catch at least five passes so So that's something you can look at and say, okay, maybe that's still there.
Now Heath alluded to this last week that does Deontay Johnson coming back,
take away some of those opportunities for Jalen Warren in the passing game.
And that might've been the case from what we saw,
but I still look at Warren as the better of the two in PPR.
I'll take nausea and non PPR. He looked better last week, you know,
for what it's worth.
And we'll see if that's just a byproduct
of the Rams or a byproduct of
the bye week getting some things changed.
There is a little bit
more reason for optimism for Najee,
but the run defense for Jacksonville has been significantly better
than the pass defense in terms of how they defended
running backs.
These guys are flexes
for sure. Not number two
running backs.
I've got them sandwiched in between Damian Pierce and Javante Williams.
So I'd start Pierce over both of them, but I'd start both of them over Javante.
I don't think I mentioned.
I must have mentioned it last week, but Pat Fryermuth is on IR.
So he's out for a while.
So we'll go to the passing game here.
And you guys like Pickens better than Deontay.
Deontay only played two thirds of the snaps last week when they were both on the field for 37 snaps.
Pickens had seven targets.
Deontay had six targets.
Pickens had 107 yards.
Deontay had 79 yards.
You probably saw the long catch and run for Deontay.
He doesn't do a lot of that.
That's not really his thing.
So you like Pickens better, right? Yeah.
When did he last score a touchdown?
1990
something. Somewhere
in there. Not last year.
This is like
we've seen a lot of times this year
where something's happened one game
and then the next week
that wasn't actually the truth.
I think this is an opportunity for Pickens to validate
as the number one wide receiver for the rest of the season on the Steelers.
And there's still an opportunity that Deontay out-targets them.
We shouldn't be that surprised.
The big problem for Deontay is throughout his entire career,
the only thing he's ever been above average at
in terms of football stat production is earning targets.
His yards per target has been disastrously bad,
and he doesn't score a lot of touchdowns.
So if he becomes a number two wide receiver on this team,
I think this consensus ranking of 36 is probably higher
than you're going to see in most weeks.
All right, and over to the Jacksonville side.
How do we feel about Trevor Lawrence this week, Jamie?
Start or sit?
You're starting him, I think it's at this point, by default because of what the rest of the
position looks like. He's better than Stafford. He's better than Geno. He's better than Russell
Wilson. I still like him better than Dak, although I do like Dak's situation this week.
I would have said start him over Purdy. So he's in that, you know, 10
through 15 range, depending on how you want to look at it. He's been somewhat unlucky. We've
talked about this quite a bit. You know, the lack of touchdowns have been alarming. And as I said
yesterday, Travis ETN has more multiple touchdown games than Trevor Lawrence, which is rare for a
running back to have more than the quarterback. Um, so, you know, you, you look at it and you
sort of alluded to this with the Ridley matchup.
It's a good matchup for quarterbacks and receivers.
So can he get that second touchdown?
I love the way he's been running.
That's been great.
And so that hopefully will be sustainable.
But he's just not getting those multiple touchdown things, and that's tough.
Yeah, all right.
I think you both have him 11.
So low-end starter Trevor Lawrence, which is kind of like what he's been this year. There you go. and that stuff. Yeah. Yeah, all right. You guys, I think you both have him 11.
So low-end starter, Trevor Lawrence,
which is kind of like what he's been this year.
There you go.
Heath's higher on him too.
Yeah.
High guy on Trevor Lawrence.
I don't know that it's really fair to say he's been a low-end starter most of the season.
He's been a QB2 this year.
Okay.
Yeah.
He's usually around 19, 20 fantasy points.
I think, I don't know.
You want me to look up where he ranks per game?
Does it matter?
Does anyone care?
Uh, all right.
So, so Christian Kirk is, is basically Christian Kirk or DJ more this week.
DJ, uh, DJ.
I will say that the Steelers allow the third most yards after catch per catch.
So that could benefit Christian Kirk.
But if you look at the guys who have done well against the Steelers,
had big games, Ayuk, Cooper, both Raiders receivers,
Devontae Adams and Jacoby Myers, Nico Collins, Pukunukua.
Pukunukua that week played 81% of his snaps out wide.
Now, Kup was bad wide. Now cup was bad.
Tank tail was bad.
Those guys are also outside receiver.
A couple play everywhere,
but these are,
I mean,
they really struggle against these outside receivers.
So that's,
what's given me a little bit of hope for Calvin Ridley is probably going to
be in at least one of my lineups.
I mean,
a couple of leagues where I can't sit them really,
you know,
but yeah,
it is what it is.
I hate better matchups.
Yeah. It's not like, he's not somebody we're trying to avoid there's lots of people i'd rather avoid than calvin ridley he's
just not not what we were hoping that he would be right okay uh would you start calvin ridley
or trevor lawrence by the way is qb 16 per game. Just one-tenth of a point ahead of Baker Mayfield.
Yep.
And just behind Anthony Richardson.
Anyway, what was I going to say?
Ridley or Rashad White?
Ridley or Rashad White? Ridley.
Yeah, I'm not even going to look at the projections
because I feel like there's so much more upside with Ridley.
If I had that decision, I'm just starting Calvin Ridley.
Ridley or Damian Pierce?
I'll go Pierce.
Ridley or Devante Adams?
Struggling Devante Adams.
Still Adams.
Okay.
All right, let's go to our next game here.
Unless you're starting a DST.
Pittsburgh's DST is a low-end starter for Dave and Heath.
All right, New Orleans is at Indianapolis.
Who do you think wins this game? We had a one-point spread. Saints Orleans is at Indianapolis. Who do you think wins this
game? We had a one-point spread.
Saints are one-point favorites.
I've done my picks. It reminds me.
Me too.
I would think I would pick the Colts.
This one has bounced around
a lot in terms of who's favored.
Colts
have lost so many close games
and I have a
hard time picking them to win.
I'll take the Saints.
Forgot a full week.
Forgot all my picks last week in my
pick-em pool. That was bad.
Here's your stat of the game. Oh, actually, wait.
Let's have a rankings dispute first. Oh, good.
Yeah. Heath is lower
on the passing game on derrick car and
chris olave i don't think you have car in your top 24 you don't have olave in your top 20 of
23rd last i checked jamie has a lot of a 14th in ppr 12th and non-ppr you have derrick car 14th
so uh jamie you have some more optimism about this passing game uh it's probably more of an
olave thing anyway,
but he's fine with him as a starter,
just not in the top 15.
But yeah, Jamie, make the case for Carr and Olave.
I mean, Olave's still seeing enough targets
and has so much potential
that I'm not going to even consider sitting him.
I know there's been some concern
with the Carr-Olave connection,
but hopefully he'll speed up
and take advantage of
it this week uh that was a joke there um i i think for uh you know you've kind of seen what he's done
the last three weeks where he's basically living in that 18 point range i think he'll be there again
you know i don't i don't see any reason that this defense that has been for the most part bad against
good quarterbacks have given up big games.
He's not a good quarterback, so he'll get to kind of where he's been.
Two of those games he's been over 300 yards.
So I just kind of expect him to be in that same spot this week
against this defense.
Yeah, the Olave thing, like I might be a couple of spots low for him,
but somewhere in that wide receiver two range,
I wouldn't argue too much about whether he's a high end mid range or low end number two. I've been the anti Derek car guy for,
for half a decade. So this is probably not a surprise to anybody. I just, I don't know that
the Colts defense is particularly the secondary is a, is a great matchup anymore. They, they held
Trevor Lawrence to 18 fantasy points. They helped Matthew Stafford to 17 fantasy points. It's been
since week three,
since a quarterback scored more than that against them.
And now they played a couple of bad quarterbacks too.
I just,
I think it's a low scoring game and I don't think car has to do that
much.
All right,
let's talk about the Colts running backs here.
Stat of the game.
The saints have seen 13 to 15 carries from the following running
backs,
Derek Henry,
Miles Sanders,
Rashad white,
Damian Pierce, and Travis Etienne.
None of them have gained more than 63 yards.
Only Etienne scored.
He did score twice.
It's a good, good run defense.
We got a split backfield here between Taylor and Moss.
Are we confidently starting Jonathan Taylor this week, Jamie?
And what about Zach Moss?
Yeah, I don't think it's going to be a split backfield.
I mean, you see now three games of Taylor's snap count increasing and increasing and increasing.
And then, you know, I think he's back to being Jonathan Taylor again.
So Zach Moss is probably not going to see an even split.
He's probably now going to see at best a 60-40 split.
And so I'm going to bank on Taylor.
I'm going to bank on his talent.
I'm going to bank on the fact that he just faced a really good run defense and had success against the Browns.
So, yes, it's not an easy slam dunk starting him.
If it was, he'd be a top five running back.
But he's still a borderline number one guy.
Certainly a guy that's going to be in your lineup.
And Zach Moss at this point is a flex at best.
But I would certainly try to bench Zach Moss moving forward.
Yeah, I've got 17 touches projected for Taylor, and he's RB14 for me.
I've got 13 touches projected for Moss. I do's RB14 for me. I've got 13 touches projected for Moss.
I do think it's kind of like the Detroit situation last year,
and still this year, where there's so many running back opportunities
available in this offense right now with Gardner Minshew running it
that both the guys can be startable until Taylor becomes a 25-touch guy
or a 20-touch guy.
So Moss is a low- number two high end flex in the
Rashad White, Ramondre Stevenson,
Aaron Jones range.
Okay, start Camara.
Olave we talked about.
Do you like Michael Thomas better
than either Michael Pittman
or Josh Downs?
No.
Okay.
He figured out a way to get to right around
his season average
even though he only
had 42 yards.
He finally caught a touchdown.
Caught a touchdown last week.
Season high,
13.2 PPR fantasy points
for Michael Thomas.
It feels like he's getting
a lot more end zone targets
lately.
I don't know.
That's possible.
Yeah.
9.3 to 13.2 points
in every game so far in full PPR. 42 to 65 yards in every game so far in Possible. Yeah, 9.3 to 13.2 points in every game so far in full PPR.
42 to 65 yards in every game so far in PPR.
Rashid Shahid is a flyer.
He did have eight targets last week, but Carr threw 55 passes.
I'll talk about Taysom Hill in a second,
but I want to stick to the wide receivers here and Pittman and Downs.
I mentioned this, I don't remember when, Tuesday, I think,
on the Waver Wire show.
The Saints allow the second most yards to wide receivers out of the slot.
So what do you think?
That's Josh Downs.
Again, I'll go back to what I said with the question.
They're number three receivers, both these guys, Pittman and Downs.
So in a week without a bye, a week without teams on a bye,
Downs has been great.
Certainly ignoring what he's done the last three games.
There's no ignoring what he's done with Gardner Minshew.
But it still is a very good defense.
And you're still asking Gardner Minshew against a very good defense
to support two receivers being successful.
He did it last week.
Can he do it again?
I think you just treat these guys as you see the consensus rankings.
Number three receivers, 26 for Pittman for us consensus-wise,
33 for Downs.
That's perfect for what you should consider them now. Three receiver leagues are starting them,
two receiver leagues, you could potentially bench them. Yeah. Downs, by the way, had something like
a 60-yard touchdown, whatever it was last week. The Browns stopped playing on that play. It was
a free play. I think they thought the play was going to get called dead. Two defensive backs
just didn't know what they were doing, and Josh Downs just got wide open.
Pittman had one touchdown on a somewhat fluky play.
He probably should have had two more,
and Minshew missed him on two plays.
He actually threw an interception on one,
and he threw the ball behind him on another at the five-yard line.
That seems very unlike Minshew.
Yeah, Minshew had 30 points last week.
31 points really did not play well,
but he played a terrific defense, and now he gets another
one here. I'm assuming you're sitting Gardner
Minshew. Go ahead, Heath. I want to make one
point in Pittman's favor with your slot stat.
Pittman is running routes
out of the slot at a career-high 29%
rate, so almost a third of
his routes are coming out of the slot this year.
All right. Sitting Gardner Minshew?
Yeah. In one quarterback league, sitting Gardner Minshew. Yeah.
In one quarterback leagues,
you should.
Yeah.
And what do you think about Taysom Hill?
Taysom Hill,
the last two games,
he's run 33 and 42 routes.
He's had a target share of 17.4%,
which is very good.
And nine was as good anyway for tight end 9.4%,
which is not right.
But Jawan Johnson's coming back.
Right.
Two,
two things.
And I,
I think I've let the, like, we're still not ranking Jawan Johnson. coming back. Right. Two things. I think I've let the...
We're still not ranking Jawan Johnson, I don't think,
but maybe he should be.
Sean Payton said he... Or not Sean Payton.
Dennis Allen said he expects him to be back this week.
So I've definitely let that affect
my where did I rank him versus where do I project
him with Taysom Hill. Because if Jawan Johnson's
out, I think Hill's a borderline top 12
tight end. If Johnson's back, then I
think he's somebody you probably can ignore.
All right.
Saints DST is top 10 for everybody.
They're not the best DST, but Minshew's a little bit.
Minshew fumbles three times a game.
Yeah.
They're not a bad DST.
They've had some touchdowns, though, and you don't want to count on that from a DST.
Cleveland at Seattle.
A couple of encouraging signs of the game for Cleveland and Seattle.
Geno Smith, his last two games.
He threw for 326 yards at the Bengals.
That's really good.
Didn't have a touchdown in that game.
Threw two picks.
Last week, he only threw 219 yards, but he averaged 9.1 yards per attempt.
And more importantly for Geno, 8.5 and 9.5 air yards per pass attempt in his last two games.
That's what we want to see.
We want to see him throwing the ball downfield more.
All right, as we look at this Cleveland and Seattle game, I want to ask you, who are the tough calls in this game?
And I kind of feel like it's almost everyone.
Everyone but Ken Walker. I think for Kareem Hunt, he's a borderline starter just based on his opportunity.
And the Seahawks run defense I know is good, but he's still going to get so many touches.
It actually has been arguably the best run defense in football.
They do give up points to fantasy points to running backs.
So they give up points in form of touchdowns,
sometimes in the passing game.
A running back has four or more catches
in four of the last five games against Seattle.
So there's that.
But yeah, if Kareem Hunt, he is expected to play.
So who are you going to rank him ahead of, Jamie?
Kareem Hunt.
Again, the two that I keep referencing.
I'll start him over Javante Williams.
I'll start him over Brian Robinson.
I'll start him over DeMarcado. I'm trying to think of guys that I keep referencing. I'll start him over Javante Williams. I'll start him over Brian Robinson. I'll start him over DeMarcato.
I'm trying to think of guys that are like starters.
I'll start him over both Panthers guys.
I will start him over...
Derrick Henry.
No, I'm not there.
Aaron Jones.
Not there yet.
I think I have him one spot over currently.
But if Jones could get a full practice in on Friday,
I might change that.
All right. All right.
So,
all right,
Kareem hunt,
we can go.
Would you start him?
Would you start Kareem hunt in a full PPR league and keep in mind the Browns
have thrown to their running backs a little bit.
Would you start him over any of the wide receivers in this Cleveland,
Seattle game?
Any of the wide receivers in this game?
Yeah,
I think I would probably not Metcalf, but the other ones. Yeah. Yeah, I think I would.
Probably not Metcalf, but the other ones, yeah.
Yeah, I think a little bit Metcalf.
All right.
Amari Cooper.
It's, you know what?
Like, I watched his routes,
and I was like, man, he's running really deep routes like every play.
And indeed, he had a season-high,
almost 13-yard average route depth last week.
That is too high.
Okay, P.J. Walker is not going to hit him
if he's running deep routes every time,
but it was 8.3 yards in week six,
which was a season low.
So let's not run...
I don't know what he's going to do this week,
but the bottom line is
there's just too much working against him.
If you take out the 58-yard catch
and azerstat his numbers without Deshaun Watson,
in his last three games,
six catches for 88 yards.
Yeah, it's bad.
It's just you can't trust it.
Seattle does allow the fourth most fantasy points to wide receivers.
But it's more about the offense than the defense here.
What about Njoku?
He's been good.
Better, anyway, without Deshaun Watson. He's getting those
targets now. Any interest in him?
I think if you're stuck,
you don't get cute and start him
over Kittle because you're concerned that Kittle's got a backup
quarterback. Don't start him over...
I'd start Ferguson over him
coming back off his bye week. I'd start Kincaid
over him with his opportunity.
The way I view it, he's
like Logan Thomas
in that range.
High end number two, tight end.
Starters at Geno Smith.
I would sit him. Maybe in a 2QB
league.
That was very emphatic.
You were very excited about you know what i
just feel like this game is kind of boring i'm trying to spice it up a little bit let's talk
ken walker uh is this is this a scary game for you for ken walker against a team that's 10th
against running backs they allow 3.8 yards per carry. Jonathan Taylor's the only running back to rush for more than 57 yards
against the Cleveland Browns.
Anyone nervous about Ken Walker?
As long as he's healthy, you play him.
All right, you play him.
Okay, which, ooh, here's a good question.
Here's a real noodle scratcher.
Which DST do you prefer?
The one playing PJ Walker.
Which one is that?
I always mix that up.
Well, you know, the Browns DST is,
they have a better defense,
but they have a worse matchup, I guess.
Yep.
Okay, well, Heath prefers the Browns DST.
I'm just moving the Seahawks ahead of the Browns right now.
Oh, fine.
I'm trying to start a little controversy here. We'll take a break. I think... Oh, the big DST. I'm just moving the Seahawks ahead of the Browns right now. Fine. I'm trying to start a little controversy here.
We'll take a break.
Our best use of time might be to go to the next game.
Let's go to the next game. We'll do that after we
take a break. Atlanta, Tennessee is the
next game. You always have tough calls with Atlanta.
What are we going to do with those tight ends?
It's good that you go from one boring game to another.
I'm going to switch the order. Let's
talk this out. We're going to move. We're going to bump Tennessee down. How about you know what? I'm going to switch the order. Let's talk this out.
We're going to move.
We're going to bump Tennessee down.
How about Houston, Carolina? I think Atlanta, Tennessee is really interesting.
It is, but they're boring games.
You want to do Dolphins, Patriots?
Yes.
All right, we'll do Dolphins, Patriots
because the Dolphins always have difficult start-sit decisions.
We'll do that in like four minutes.
Yeah, we'll do that.
I'll take the under. All right, we'll do that. I'll take the under.
All right, we'll come back.
We'll do.
I'll rearrange my notes.
Dolphins Patriots after the
break on fantasy football
today.

It's really ideal when the best NFL games are also the most interesting fantasy games,
but that is not the case this week.
But New England's at Miami,
and we already talked a little bit about Ramondre Stevenson earlier.
We can get back into it.
But your stat of the game is that Tua,
I said this earlier,
he has never scored more than 18.7 points
in a six point per passing touchdown league
against the Patriots.
He has never thrown multiple touchdowns
against the Patriots.
Also, if you look at what they've done to receivers,
now I was very skeptical about the Patriots
when they lost Judana Gonzalez
and I still am a little bit,
but on paper, Devontae Smith, 47 yards. Tyreek Hill, 40 yards. I've already played this year, by the way, Dolphins-Patriots. Garrett Wilson, 48 yards. Lamb, 36. Olave, 12. Adams, 29. Jacoby Myers, 61. Stefan Diggs, 58 yards. Gabe Davis, six yards. It's impressive.
So Tua has actually been a pretty hit or miss quarterback,
start or sit.
I guess if you're looking at it and saying,
who do I have on my roster that's better than Tua?
Like maybe Stroud, you can make that argument.
Maybe Goff, you can make that argument for what they're looking at this week and how they performed at times this season but I mean do you really want
to put two on your bench and watch them go off for for 40 points it's easy if Tyreek's out then
you're sitting to it but if Tyreek plays like there's no way I'm doing it I yeah I I was I was
so lost by the this it's not the case that the best nfl game is is an
interesting fantasy game because are you saying this was a great nfl game no the biggest spread
the games no no i'm just no no this is neither a great nfl game or nor that interesting of a
fantasy matchup i think because like everyone's most think, because two is going to be started in over 90% of leagues.
Right now he's 86%, so maybe he won't be.
I don't know.
But I think he'll be way up there.
And then Waddle, I'm starting Waddle.
Everyone's going to start Waddle.
I know the yards haven't been there,
but last week he was in and out of the lineup.
Well, that's a good question, right?
I just told you how good they've been against wide receivers, the Patriots.
Waddle actually has had a lot
of you. Had like 80-something yards, I think.
Do you have
any hesitation starting him if Tyreek Hill plays?
None.
He's a low-end number
two for me. It's possible that I could have
three guys. Definitely, with the way people
were drafted, that I could have three guys that
I'm starting over waddle,
but actually he's 16.
So he's not even that low end.
I Jamie walk,
walk me through or run me through,
I guess the running backs for the dolphins.
If most are plays and if most of it doesn't,
you're obviously starting most or if he plays,
if most or doesn't play,
then we get the guessing game of Jeff Wilson and Savan Ahmed based on how
they've been using Ahmed.
I would guess he's going to be the lead rusher,
but it would be a split.
You would hope that Wilson's talent maybe shines through a little bit,
so flex is at best for both guys,
but I would lean Ahmed over Wilson slightly.
And then if you're looking at the backups
with most are playing, I would just avoid it.
What do we think about Kendrick Bourne who is 60 as of yesterday was 63%
rostered.
I'll get the updated start percentage or roster percentage there for
Kendrick Bourne.
How do we feel about Kendrick Bourne this week?
A very,
very wide receiver three.
Yeah.
The,
the concern would be is Juju's back.
And so if Juju's taking away those opportunities as
we alluded to earlier this week then he's going to struggle but four games with at least nine
targets three of those 16 ppr points or more the one that he had nine targets and struggled
week two against miami so you know their their cornerbacks are really beat up right now for the
dolphins and i think if you just look at it if you want to view him as the number one guy,
number one receivers have done a number on the dolphins. So will he follow suit? That's the
question. Cause he's not the traditional number one type of guy. Yeah. His a dot in the last two
games has been two yards, both games, Kendrick Bourne and Juju Smith Schuster is off the injury
report. So you should expect Juju back, which, you know, like we say,
is Juju having a good year? No,
but he averages five targets per game and he runs those shorter rally.
He, you know,
Kendrick Bourne has sort of taken on his Juju's role a little bit and,
and had some success there over the last two games.
Would you start Kendrick Bourne over Calvin Ridley,
DK Metcalf or Amari Cooper?
Cooper.
Over Cooper.
All right.
And Ramondre Stevenson, Jamie is higher on.
He's got him 17th in PPR.
Heath has him 25th.
And we already had that debate a little bit earlier in the show.
And I think that's it for this game.
Dolphins DST, any interest?
Low end start.
Okay.
Let's go to Atlanta, Tennessee.
Stat of the game.
I gave kind of all of this.
So, Drake London,
end zone target in six straight games.
I didn't say this.
He has a target share above 23% in four straight games.
It was 32% last week.
He's really their alpha.
Two touchdown catches this season.
The Falcons have only thrown six touchdowns this season.
But anyway, Drake London.
Drake London or...
Let me get you.
Or Ramondre Stevenson.
Ramondre.
I'll go London and full PPR Remondre and everything else
although
depending on how this game script goes Remondre might have as many
targets
that's an issue right
is this going to be a 22-25
pass attempt game for
Desmond Ritter they've thrown the ball
a decent amount
and they're not bad
it's hard to run on Tennessee.
You know, I know that's
not necessarily carried over
to the exact degree
that we thought it would be,
but they're still
a pretty good run defense.
And so can can
be John stay on the field?
And if he's on the field,
will he have a dominant game?
Will Algier have a dominant game?
Will they have a dominant game together?
So they may have to throw.
I didn't say this
earlier, but if you're in the chat right now on YouTube
and you have any questions about the game we're talking
about, in this case Atlanta at Tennessee,
please fire away and I'll read some of your questions.
There's not any chance
that Tennessee is going to protect
Henry and Hopkins this week because they
are trying to trade them, right?
Wow, that's a good point.
It's not really something that you can plan for.
No, but we may hear something.
Yeah, we might.
All right, someone just asked,
should I start Bijan Robinson?
Do you guys feel good about Bijan?
Yes.
You got to start him.
All right.
Although Arthur Smith hates fantasy football.
Tennessee's got a good run defense, but Bijan will catch some passes. Drake Yeah, we know although Arthur Smith hates fantasy football. Tennessee's got a good got a good run
defense, but Bijan
will catch some
passes.
Drake London, we
talked about Kyle
Pitts and Jonu
Smith.
Who do you prefer?
And by the way,
Jonu's had a better
season than Kyle
Pitts.
He's had eight fewer
targets, but three
more catches and
nine more yards.
So slightly
revenge game.
And it's a revenge
game.
Who do you prefer?
Pitts or Jonu?
Pitts. Would you start Pitts or dalton schultz uh pitts i think i have pitts one spot higher so pitts schultz john who uh schultz pitts john who
schultz okay pitts schultz john schultz john Jonu. Schultz and Pitts are not names I should say back-to-back.
That is going to get me fined, I think, if we do that.
You're afraid you're going to say Pultz?
Yeah, exactly.
Nobody wants to hear that.
How about Jonu Smith or Jake Ferguson against the Rams?
Ferguson.
I like Ferguson better than Pitts.
I've got Jonu.
Jonu or Taysom Hicks?
Hold on, I'm sorry. Pitts better than Ferguson.
Pitts, Ferguson, Jonu.
Jonu over Taysom for me.
I do have a question from the chat.
Any guesses on Heath's Halloween costume tomorrow?
I bet Adam dresses up as Dan.
Bad haircut, tight shirt, big muscles,
no answers on movie trivia.
I could do that.
I could be Dan.
That would be okay.
Maybe I'll dress up as Dan on Monday.
I'd be on the box score.
I am guessing that Heath is just going to go
as Otto Hightower,
which really would just require a shirt of some sort
because he already looks just like him.
And Heath's wife will be one of the
main blonde
dragon lady, whatever her name is.
He's growing the mustache, so I'm going to guess
he's going to do Kelsey and Taylor Swift.
Oh, that's so obvious. How did I not get that?
It's so clearly going to be
Kelsey and Taylor Swift.
Alright, so let's go
to the Titans here. Sit the quarterbacks.
Derek Henry.
I think, you know, he hasn't had that bad of a year.
He scored 13.9 or more points PPR in four of six games.
He was terrible at Cleveland.
He was bad at Indianapolis.
But basically, I think the biggest number for Henry,
25, 22 carries in their two wins,
15 or fewer carries in their four losses.
And they are underdogs in this game.
So, Heath, how do you feel about Derek Henry?
I think you're probably starting him.
Like I said, I've got Deontay Foreman just ahead of him right now.
But if Roshan was back, that wouldn't be the case anymore.
I've got Jonathan Taylor ahead of him, which I haven't i've got um i've got jonathan taylor ahead of
him which i haven't had all year i've got isaiah pacheco ahead of him like it's it's possible you
could have a couple of guys raheem mostert obviously that you drafted after him that
would cause you to sit him but he's a mid-range number two running back still has the possibility
to score from basically anywhere on the field probably Probably the most likely Titan to throw a touchdown pass.
And he can catch a pass or two at some point as well.
So you're probably starting him as a number two.
Okay, let's see some of the guys you have Derek Henry ranked ahead of.
Madison, Henderson.
We've got three guys who are really, really tough for me this week.
They're 17, 18, and 19.
It's Jacobs, Henry, Mixon.
Jacobs, Henry, Mixon.
Yeah, Henry would be last for me.
Probably has the best matchup, right?
Yeah.
Jacobs. Yeah. Jacobs.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I am worried about the Titans is getting blown out in this game,
but I got to say a running back sucks this week.
Doesn't it?
Well, considering there are no buys, man,
I am not enjoying running back right now.
I don't think it's this week.
It feels, it feels yucky to me.
It feels like there are 15 running backs. I don't think it's this week. It feels yucky to me. It feels like there are 15 running backs I like.
Can the Falcons blow somebody out?
I don't know.
I mean, I don't know.
The Titans are bad.
They've not scored.
They scored 24 points against Carolina.
That's a good point.
So how do you rank them, Jacob's mixing Henry that way.
Jacob Henry mixing Jacob's Henry mixing.
Okay.
Hopkins.
We talked about a lot of receivers.
We don't like today.
Like Deontay Johnson.
I know you guys don't really want to start him.
Would you start him over Hopkins?
Uh,
I would start Deontay Johnson over Hopkins
and PPR. I'd start Hopkins and none.
Atlanta's giving up the sixth fewest fantasy
points to wide receivers.
They did get pretty beat up by
Mike Evans. They haven't been so good lately.
Kirk, 84 yards.
Curtis Samuel, touchdown. McLaurin,
81 yards. Evans, 82
yards and a touchdown. Godwin, six for 66.
But Hopkins has had one good game all year,
and he has not caught a touchdown.
All right, Falcons DST.
You guys don't love that much.
I think Jamie has them 10th.
Dave and Heath, not starting the Falcons DST.
Houston's at Carolina.
And I don't know if you want to get into it again,
but Damian Pierce rankings dispute.
Jamie's like 10 spots higher than Heath is.
They talked about it earlier during one question for each game,
but we can bring it up again because the Panthers are giving up the second
most points to running backs.
Six running backs have scored 15 or more points against the Panthers in six
games.
Every running back that's had 15 or more carries
has gained 75 or more rushing yards against the Panthers, and four of them have scored,
four of the five have scored at least one rushing touchdown. It could not get any better than this.
Jamie, you have more optimism for Damian Pierce. I hate to make you repeat yourself,
but you can repeat yourself. I just think that if Singletary had been great in the game before the bye,
then we're going to see a switch.
Singletary is definitely going to play more.
To what degree, we'll find out.
I'm going to just bank on this matchup
and the fact that he's been their guy for the majority of the last two years,
still carrying enough weight that you can buy into him as a number two running back.
As you see, there's not a ton of confidence because he's just 24th,
but I still think that there's an opportunity here.
After all of those miserable matchups, this is the one landing spot that we said.
Remember, we said if you're going to trade for him, trade for him before the buy,
get him for the buy, have him through the buy, you have this game,
and then maybe you sell him after he has his game.
So I'd even toyed with the fact of him being the start of the week.
If Singletary had not had the – if Pierce had not had the game that he had in week six,
I would have considered it because this matchup is fantastic.
So maybe they both have a good game and then we sort of see what comes out of
it.
But I still think Pierce is the better of the two and I would start him as a
number two running back.
I do still have Pierce ranked higher than Singletary.
I just have less confidence that he's going to be the guy.
The snap trends going into the bye were moving in Singletary's favor.
Singletary played more and his highest snap rate in their last game.
And so just coming out of the bye, I don't have confidence.
Again, I think there's still upside for Pierce.
He's just a wide range of outcomes.
I think there's upside for Miles Sanders because I think it's a upside for Pierce. He's just a wide range of outcomes. I think there's upside for Miles Sanders
because I think it's a decent matchup for him as well.
And if these guys come out and look like themselves from last year,
then I don't know that Singletary or Chuba Hubbard
is going to stand in either of their ways.
But as bad as the matchups have been,
I'm pretty sure that against almost every team,
Damian Pierce's efficiency has been worse
than what
those teams give up to his 3.5 yards per carry against Baltimore was his highest mark of the
season. Yeah. Um, 24 carries for 81 yards against Pittsburgh. That was very inefficient. Um, and,
uh, let's see. And what did he do? He had, uh, it doesn't matter. But I said you guys were like 10 spots apart.
That's not the case.
You're five spots apart on Damian Pierce.
24th.
I'm sorry.
We know he went to college.
You're counting.
29th.
Look, don't blame me.
I knew they should have taken a knee.
I could do the math.
29th for Heath, for Damian Pierce.
Nico Collins and Tank Dell.
How do we feel about them, Heath Cummings?
I think that this, another one of those situations
where we're going to find something out,
and it relates to Dalton Schultz, it relates to Tank Dell,
it relates to a guy that I didn't think was going to matter,
but Noah Brown played in their last game, right?
When Tank Dell was out, he came back off the IRR
and was pretty
involved. Dalton Schultz has pretty much only been good when Tank Dell was out. Tank Dell's only been
good when Noah Brown was out. Robert Woods and Nico Collins are probably still going to run the
most routes. So I'm starting Nico. I am starting Schultz. I'm kind of taking a wait and see approach
with everyone else. Let's see how the routes and targets work out for everybody else.
I definitely want to have Tank Dell on my team.
I don't want to start him this week.
Do you consider Nico the number one receiver for the Texans?
Yes.
I do.
I do as well.
Here's what number one receivers have done against the Panthers since week two.
Chris Olave, 14.6 PPR points.
DK Metcalf, 17.2 PPR points. Justinlave, 14.6 PPR points. DK Metcalf, 17.2 PPR points.
Justin Jefferson, 26.5 PPR points.
Josh Reynolds, when Amara St. Brown was out,
17.6 PPR points.
Tyree Kill in their last game,
28.3 PPR points.
Let's go, Nico.
Yeah, it's true.
I mean, unfortunately,
you do have Justin Jefferson
and Tyree Kill in there,
but still, I mean, Metcalf with 100.
Yeah, Reynolds had 76 yards and a touchdown on only five targets.
It's a great point.
And like we already said, they have two more injuries,
a pass rusher and a safety.
So, Nico, the problem with Nico is like I've said,
I think last time we spoke about the Texans,
I can't find a rhyme or reason to when he has his 80-yard games
and when he has his 30-yard games.
It's just Stroud just kind of distributes the ball around,
and sometimes it's good, sometimes it's bad for Nico.
Do we have some Nico questions?
Nico or Kirk, half PPR?
Nico.
Nico.
Nico or Christian Watson?
Nico.
Nico by a lot. Nico or Zay Flowers, full PPR? Nico. Nico. Nico or Christian Watson? Nico. Nico by a lot.
Nico or Zay Flowers, full PPR?
Nico.
They're both pretty close to must starts for me.
I think I'd Nico just barely a little higher.
Tank Dell or Christian Watson?
Watson.
Watson.
Okay.
These are good questions here.
Yeah, that was a good one.
Dalton Schultz is top 12 in both formats.
Three straight games with 42 or more yards and a touchdown,
and it has coincided with the absence of Tank Dell.
But Dell's only just missed one of the games.
He's missed one and a half.
Like three games ago. Like three games ago,
but three games ago, Dalton Schultz had
three catches for 42 yards and a touchdown,
but he only had three targets. The last
two games where Dell got hurt in one
and missed one entirely,
17 targets in two games
for Dalton Schultz.
Sit Bryce Young.
Sit Miles Sanders, right?
Yeah.
He's a flex.
Adam Thielen's top 12.
And that's it.
Jamie likes the Houston DST.
I think Chuba's a flex too, though.
Jalen Warren, Najee Harris, Miles Sanders, Chuba Hubbard.
Who's the best running back in that bunch? Jalen Warren, Najee Harris, Miles Sanders, Chuba Hubbard. Who's the best running back in that bunch?
Jalen Warren.
I have no idea.
Literally no idea.
If I was giving advice, I think I'd say Najee Harris.
Dylan says, Jamie looks exquisite today.
Thank you, Dylan.
Dalton Schultz or Taysom Hill?
Dalton Schultz. Yeah.om Hill? Dalton Schultz.
Yeah. Jamie looks cold today. Is it cold out, guys?
It's a little overcast. It's a little breezy.
But
I'm displaced from my
home currently, so whatever I
find when I came back here to do the show,
I just grab it. I got you.
I got you. Yeah, we have...
It's 70 degrees today in New York. It's
gorgeous. And it's going to in New York. It's gorgeous.
And it's going to be basically 70,
it's highs of about 70 for Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday.
And then on Tuesday,
when all the kids have to go outside and put their costumes on,
it's going to be a high of 50 degrees.
You know what they did here, which is nice,
but also a pain in the butt,
is they made Wednesday, November 1st, a teacher work day.
Oh, that's great.
They should do that for the Super Bowl.
Listen, they should do that for the Super Bowl,
but also it's so obvious that Halloween, like no one cares that it's October 31st.
Just make it the last Friday or Saturday of October.
Just Thanksgiving it.
It makes too much sense.
I just have all these great ideas
and nobody will listen to me.
Kansas City is at Denver.
I got an idea.
I'd be a great president.
You and Dan.
Let's start a campaign.
We would be great presidents.
We would definitely be the shortest ticket
in the history.
I really thought, like he talked to Dan on the podcast.
I thought Dan was taller.
No, he's not taller.
He's my height.
I lowered the spread on the basketball game.
To what?
It's like 17 and a half now.
You're playing at 21, right?
Yeah, yeah.
I got to figure out my implied point total there.
I don't think I like it very much.
Four.
Could Dan and Adam beat Heath and Dave in basketball?
Zero percent, I think.
If we played full court, we could basically be two on one, I think,
and just run Dave on four.
How many times do you think you're going up and down the court in a full court two on two game?
You really you underestimate me.
No, you you think you have the endurance and speed from like 20 years ago the last time you ran.
I don't need to run, bro.
I'm just I'm fit.
All right, let's go to Kansas City at Denver here.
As I mentioned, Denver is last in time of possession in plays per game.
Week six, these two teams played.
Kansas City won 19-8.
Start Mahomes. Start Pacheco.
Start or sit
Rasheed Rice.
I feel very similar
to him like I do about Josh Downs.
In a three-receiver league, he should be starting
at this point. In a two-receiver league, he's not there yet.
We'll see. He had four for 72 last time these in a two receiver league. He's not there yet. And we'll see.
He had four for 72 last time.
These two teams met.
I think that's a safe number.
I would start him over down.
I'd start him over Deontay Johnson,
but it's like wide receiver,
37,
38,
39 or something.
Uh,
Calvin Ridley or is she rice?
Really?
Not there yet.
Ridley.
Would you trade from Jarvis wad, and Rice for Puka Nakua?
Yep. I think you have to.
Okay, I'm looking for more questions about this game here.
Cortland Sutton or...
Hey, you know what? I'm not sick right now, everybody.
People are killing me for saying that I'm fit.
Yes, I've been sick. I had a bad run. I'm good.
I'm good. Would you start Cortland Sutton over Rasheed?
One elbow to the ribs and you're done. Oh, forget it. One cough. I'm good. I'm good. Would you start Cortland Sutton over Rasheed? One elbow to the ribs and you're done.
Oh, forget it.
One cough and I'm done.
I'm sorry, but the elbow is probably not going to hit you in the ribs.
I meant from Dan.
From Dan.
Rasheed Rice or Cortland Sutton?
Sutton.
Yeah.
Rasheed Rice or Jerry Judy?
Rice. Rice. I'm not going to be... Yeah. Uh, Rashi rice or Jerry Judy. Uh,
right.
Right.
I'm not going to be like,
Matt says I'm going to be wheezing up and down the court right after the
tip off.
I'm not,
I'm not that bad.
Sutton or Josh down.
You do a tip off in one-on-one.
Yeah,
exactly.
How do you think you know?
Like,
I don't understand why you think that you could just run and play
basketball for 30 or 45 minutes or 10 minutes. You remember when I joined a gym? You don't understand why you think that you could just run and play basketball for 30 or 45 minutes or 10 minutes.
Do you remember when I joined a gym?
You don't ever do that.
Remember when I joined a gym for two weeks?
And didn't ever go?
I went once.
I played basketball.
I wasn't tired.
I was just shooting around by myself, but I was running up and down the court a little bit and pull it up for Jays.
I would pay $1,000 for the security footage.
I airballed the first shot,
but I did get pretty good by the end.
I was surprised.
How far away from the basket were you?
Two feet?
All over the place.
I was shooting everything.
No, on the airball.
Oh, at least two feet.
At least two feet.
This is 100% The Office episode.
Oh, gosh. The basketball game. least two feet. This is 100% The Office episode. Oh, gosh.
The basketball game.
Yeah, I'm Jim.
Start Kelsey.
Sit Russell Wilson.
Heathfield Wilson, 14th.
That sounds about right, yeah.
Just don't like quarterbacks this week.
Let's see, who do you have him ahead of?
You have him ahead of Sam Howell, Joe Burrow, Baker Mayfield.
Why does football suck?
Can we have any good players? Youell, Joe Burrow, Baker Mayfield. Why does football suck? Can we have any good players?
You start Russell over Burrow?
Yes.
Yes.
It's a tough matchup for both of them, right?
Maybe.
It's been a bad match.
The Niners haven't been very good lately.
All right.
Well, I'm in Jamie's camp.
I'm not starting Wilson over Burrow.
To be clear, the Niners haven't been very good lately.
They gave up 25 points to Cousins.
Mostly because Jordan Addison stole
an interception. It's true.
The game before that when they lost, the opposing quarterback scored
three. Yeah, okay. It was PJ
Wong. Their defense has not been bad lately.
Well, they have no
sacks in their last two games or something like that.
They're not getting pressure.
I don't think they'll get sacks here either.
It's as close as healthy as it's going to be.
All right.
Denver.
Oh, Denver running backs.
Okay, so Javante Williams would be the favored one.
Would you start Javante or Ramondre?
Ramondre.
Stevens.
Yeah.
Javante or Rasheed Rice?
I might go Rice and PPR, yeah.
Rice and PPR, but Javante everywhere else.
Javante or Deontay?
Same, Deontay and PPR.
Yep.
And the thing about Javante is he does not play on passing downs,
but he's still catching.
Well, he caught three passes last week.
He caught zero passes the week before.
But he usually gets three to four targets, two to three catches.
Who do we, and I think it's like
completely up in the air who the running
back is if they get inside the five or ten.
I would think Javante.
McLaughlin's still the only guy who scored a touchdown for him.
Well, that doesn't count the almost touchdowns
because Javante had one called back last week,
but he was in inside the five yard line.
I think he had a three yard touchdown run. It was called back on
holding, I believe.
All right, again, we're just not super enthused about Denver.
Kansas City's DST, you're starting.
Chicago is at the Chargers.
Okay, let me talk to you a little bit why I'm concerned about Deontay Foreman because we talked earlier, and it was Rashawn Johnson coming back,
and that is a bit of a concern.
But really, if you look at Deontay Foreman,
he is an extremely inconsistent player. In fact,
in two games with the Bears, he has had 7.7 points and 33 PPR fantasy points.
That's a hell of an average.
Yeah. But last year when he took over basically after the McCaffrey trade,
he had four games with 16.5 or more points, all PPR. One game with 11.3,
six games with 8.5 or fewer.
That's just what he is.
He usually doesn't catch the ball,
although with the way Tyson Bajan is barely throwing the ball downfield,
I think maybe he will catch some passes,
but three would be a blessing.
And if he doesn't score,
you could easily be looking at 15 carries for 60 yards
and really a six or seven fantasy point game.
I still consider Foreman a touchdown or bus player. He scored three of them last week.
But, but I, one receiving. Yeah. So I just can't be comfortable starting him. Like I have to choose
between him and I think Jerry Judy in a PPR league and Judy, I think is going to get 10 points.
I'll probably go for him and much better chance to score.
But I,
I see seven point potential here for Foreman.
Unfortunately,
I see that downside.
It's definitely there.
I mean,
and you go back two games ago against Minnesota,
right?
When the first game that he got an opportunity to play and it was,
you know,
fields getting hurt.
So take that into account that they lost their quarterback mid-game but i think you just look
at it the chargers yes their their defense has seemingly been a little bit better against the
run for the most part though and brandon staley's time there they've been bad against the run
you know foreman's probably looking at even the roshan plays 16 to 18 touches i don't think
they're going to give roshan a huge workload coming back from the concussion. Again, he's missed two games for a rookie.
So if he gets involved in the passing game like we saw last week, which I think he will, two or three catches I think is safe,
then he's got an opportunity to still make some plays.
So matchups still somewhat favorable.
Production and opportunity I think is favorable.
So I'll still consider him a top 20 running back.
And that's even if we do get Roshon back.
Question. You're Foreman or Jacobs, Heath?
There's a group
of probably seven or eight running backs that will
be, is Roshon back
or not? Jacobs is one of them. If there's no Roshon,
then it's Foreman over Jacobs. If Roshon's back, then it's
Jacobs over Foreman.
I can't tell if this is a
joke or not. Adam looks like the guy that used
to get slimed on Nickelodeon when I was a kid.
That was my brother who hosted
Slime Time Live. James Cook or
Aaron Jones is the question. I don't know. We can answer that real
quick. I'll get back to the Chargers game.
But that comment caught my eye. Cook?
Cook.
Back to this game. Sorry.
All right, so that's Foreman, Sit Bajent.
You guys said DJ Moore, you're starting him.
Top 15 in both formats.
The Chargers allow the most fantasy points to wide receivers.
And by the way, the Chargers have been good against the run.
Why are they still giving up points to running backs? They give up the most receiving yards to running backs
and the most fantasy points to wide receivers.
They just stink against the pass.
And they've given up the most big plays in the NFL, the most 20-plus yard completions in the NFL.
I mean, they are—I'm sorry.
There's too much talent on this team for them to be this bad.
I don't understand.
It's inevitable what's going to happen there.
Starter Sid Cole-Komet, who did not have a target last week.
That's it.
Do you guys like Justin Herbert this week?
Yes.
Start.
All right, he's top six.
Bears allow the fourth most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
I got to give the Bears credit.
The last three games,
their defense has been a lot better.
They're two and one.
They're one of only two teams allowing less than 3.5 yards per carry.
Yeah, it's weird.
I mean, they replaced their defense coordinator.
It's true.
But last three weeks, 20 points against Washington,
19 points against Minnesota, 12 points against Las Vegas,
and they are 2-1.
But still, we like Justin Herbert.
Just start Eckler and Keenan Allen.
And what about Josh Palmer?
I gave this stat last week.
Palmer had a tough matchup last week, and he came through.
Gets seven to eight targets every week, but the Bears, let's see.
Mike Evans is the only wide receiver with more than 65 yards against the Bears.
Starter set Josh Palmer.
High-end number three receiver, but yes, you should consider starting him.
Yeah, I'll take the 7-8 targets.
Rasheed Rice or Josh Palmer?
Palmer.
I would start Palmer over Ridley.
Yes, agreed on both.
Palmer or Pittman?
I would go with Palmer and non-PPR
and Pittman and PPR.
But it's close.
All right.
I am not Stanley from the office basketball episode.
No, you're Michael.
100%.
Complete confidence.
I don't need to run.
I'm fit.
100% Michael Scott.
Jamie, grade my basketball skills. I don't need to run, I'm fit is 100% Michael Scott's quote.
Jamie, grade my basketball skills.
I mean, considering it's been, what, 10 years
since I've seen you play basketball?
They're all the same, Jamie.
All of his athleticism is exactly the same
as it was a decade ago.
I would say as a guy,
like your air yards would be great.
You run up and down the court very well.
Thank you.
No wheezing.
You have, I'd say, scale of 1 to 10,
your jump shot's about a 4.5.
Finishing at the rim, 3.5.
Finishing at the rim, you're being way too kind.
I don't even go near the rim.
I'm the guy who gets the wide open layup
off a turnover and misses it.
And your defense, you, your scrappy defender, but
you definitely, definitely, definitely
should not be playing anybody down low.
No, but I'm a solid seven on defense.
I have a few Palmer questions here from the chat.
Palmer or Chris Godwin?
Palmer.
Okay, I just...
Yes, Palmer. The Bears
last three games,
and they're against bad running teams,
but 38 carries for 99 yards to running backs.
Wow, that's really good.
They do, however, give up the second most receiving yards
per game to running backs,
so maybe we can get some...
I don't have Eckler as a number one running back.
He's a high-end number two guy this week
because he's been struggling,
and he's not 100% in the matchup. I don't think it's a slam dunk, one running back. He's a high-end number two guy this week because he's been struggling and he's not 100%.
And the matchup, I don't think it's a slam dunk.
But it's got to be in the pass game.
That's where it's got to come.
Yes, I did see Kristaps.
That was good.
You know what?
I'm fine with it.
The Knicks obviously show they can compete
with arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference.
Four-point game.
And Milwaukee?
The Knicks blew it.
They blew it.
They couldn't make a free throw.
They missed like 12 free throws. We're fine. I'll tell you this right now, and I'm not even going to let Heath get in a word. I mean, the Knicks blew it. They blew it. They couldn't make a free throw. They missed, like, 12 free throws.
We're fine.
We would have beat.
I'll tell you this right now, and I'm not even going to let Heath get in a word.
I'm just going to end the show.
The Knicks would have beaten the Celtics in the playoffs last year if they had gotten past the Heat.
And the only reason they didn't make the NBA Finals is because Julius Randle hurt his ankle.
And we can leave it on that.
