This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
I had no idea.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Off to the races, and he stays on his feet.
He's just going to go the distance.
Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
In less than 12 hours, football begins.
Welcome to Fantasy Football Today, presented by BetMGM,
the sportsbook born in Vegas.
And tonight, Chiefs and Ravens will kick things off.
Okay, Heath, is this boring to you?
Like, yeah, we're just going to win another Super Bowl.
What's the point kind of situation?
No, I'm really torn in between, like, the idea that the Ravens,
like, trying to prepare myself that the Ravens are obviously going to win tonight.
They've had two more weeks of extra rest.
Like, it's September.
I had to think about that.
Or also thinking, you know, the Chiefs might go 20-0.
So I'm just kind of going back and forth.
I like that.
I like that.
All right.
It is Chiefs-Ravens tonight.
Yesterday we previewed Chiefs-Ravens and Packers-Eagles.
So if you want those games, that's on yesterday's show.
Jamie with the week one haircut
looking good my friend hello thank you yeah you ready you ready to rock and roll um i told uh
kelly who cuts my hair and used to cut your hair about your um attempt to shave the line in your
head and she was very embarrassed for you i'm not embarrassed as I am. I was with some adults yesterday at soccer and had to be like, this was for charity.
Had to do it.
Sorry.
But it's growing back.
Anyway, today we're going to talk about Tennessee at Chicago.
Why are we talking about that game?
Is that game in Chicago or in Tennessee?
Mid-season form.
Wow.
Oh, I know why.
No, I know why.
Because there was an imbalance between the AFC
home games and the NFC home games. So I took an AFC team in an NFC home game. Tennessee at Chicago,
Dallas at Cleveland, Houston at Indianapolis, Las Vegas at the Chargers, New England at Cincinnati,
Jacksonville at Miami, and Arizona at Buffalo. Some interesting players we'll talk about today.
The Bears running backs, the Titans running backs, the Bengals running backs, basically all the running backs. Ramond
Dre Stevenson, what could be a pretty good matchup for him. Josh Palmer with DJ Chark
questionable. We'll talk about it all, but let's start with some players we love. And Jamie,
who is our first start of the week? Jared Goff. Two of my favorite narratives for Jared Goff. First, you get the home Jared Goff, which is fantastic.
His last 21 games in Detroit, 16 of which he's been above 20 fantasy points. So pretty solid
track record there for him. You have no Aaron Donald, no Ernest Jones, no Raheem Morris. So a
lot of changes in this Rams defense and then you get the revenge game
narrative so the last time he played them was the first season with Detroit which was 2021 he was
bad 13 fantasy points in Los Angeles but now he's going to light them up so very excited about uh
this game it's the highest point total of highest expected point total of the week based on what
Las Vegas has told us I think it's still the highest at least that's my check 51 um so looking
forward to seeing Jared Goff golf light up this Rams defense.
All right.
Give me like two or three quarterbacks.
You'd start him over.
Oh,
he's top five for me.
So I have a tough decision in one league where I have golf and Anthony
Richardson.
I'm going to start golf.
I would start him over Joe Burrow over CJ Stroud over.
I mean,
basically the top four quarterbacks that we were drafting.
Those are the only ones I would start over. Okay. Fair enough. Heath, who do you love this week? No, I mean, basically the top four quarterbacks that we were drafting, those are the only ones I would start over.
Okay, fair enough.
Heath, who do you love this week?
No, first off, I agree completely with Jared Goff.
I'm going to give two.
It's week one.
I'm excited.
A couple of running backs who were outside of my top 30 in redraft rankings
and inside of my top 20 in week one rankings.
I'm the high guy on both Chuba Hubbard and Jerome Ford.
Obviously, the reason
they were outside the top 30 in redraft rankings is because Jonathan Brooks, Nick Chubb coming back
at some point, but I think both these guys are going to be pretty close to workhorse backs
to open the season. I expect 16, 17, 18 plus touches for both Hubbard and Ford on a weekly
basis. I think you can count on them as RB twos until their backfield mates return.
Okay. We'll talk more about Jerome Ford against the Dallas Cowboys who had a good defense last
year, but not a very good run defense. And they didn't really change, change coordinators,
but they didn't change their personnel all that much players to avoid Heath. You can start who's
a player we're sitting this week. Can I just give like a handful of quarterbacks that not only would
I start the start of the week,
but I don't want to start them at all?
Justin Herbert, Aaron Rodgers, Kirk Cousins, Brock Purdy.
I don't want to start any of those quarterbacks.
That San Francisco Jets game on Monday night,
I don't want to be waiting for my quarterback on Monday Night Football on week one.
Go ahead and start somebody else.
I'd start Baker Mayfield and Geno Smith
over almost all of those guys.
Okay. Jamie, how about you? A player to avoid?
DJ Moore
if you can. I think we're
going to see a pretty improved Titans
defense with Legereus Need and
Awuzie and
Quadre Diggs in the back end of that
secondary. I hope Jamal Adams does not play because
that would probably be a plus for offenses.
New defense coordinator
as well, Denard Wilson, coming over
from Baltimore. They were
miserable last year. I believe
the sixth most fantasy points to opposing wide receivers.
This is not going to be fun
for a lot of opposing receiving course.
We know DJ Moore is going to share with
Keenan Allen and
Romo Dunze. So target share could be an issue here.
So I would try to avoid him if he can.
Three receiver leagues are starting him without question. But two receiver
leagues, I think he's a sit.
Yeah, I actually watched every
snap of DJ Moore
against the Chiefs last year
this morning. I watched this
against LeJarius Sneed
who shadowed him, and
he had no catches
on three... No, I think he had
one catch for three yards
on four targets or something like that
against LeJarrius Sneed. Yeah, one catch for
three yards on four targets. He did have
a couple plays where he had chances for deep balls.
He dropped a deep ball. It was kind of a tough catch.
And then he beat Sneed on a deep route,
but Fields made a terrible throw. But yeah, Snead took him out of the picture. DJ Moore then had like 38 yards and a touchdown in garbage time. The score was 41-3 at that point against backup cornerback. So I don't know if they're going to shadow DJ Moore with a Jerry Snead, but last year Snead absolutely dominated in that matchup for what that's worth. Better quarterback this year for Moore.
I will say that.
Here's my stat of the game for that game.
I have four stats of the game.
I'm very interested in that game. This is from
CBSSports.com. The last
15 quarterbacks to be
selected number one overall
are 0-14-1
in their first career start wow yeah well and
they're favorite that makes sense yeah the team did have the number one pick for some reason
but that's different right because the bears didn't earn this number one pick the bears are
they had carolina's pick they're actually favored in this game right i think like three point
favorites four maybe four last time i saw. And yeah, three and a half
according to what I'm looking at.
So that's kind of interesting.
Caleb Williams is trying to buck the trend for sure.
We have an exciting Sunday morning opportunity
for you to get your start, sit questions answered.
Join us live at 1130 a.m. Eastern until kickoff.
Kickoff for the one o'clock games.
I don't think we're going to do the 4 o'clock.
No, kickoff 1130 to 1 Eastern.
YouTube.com slash fantasy football today.
We're going to have a live stream every Sunday morning.
We want thousands of you to be there with us answering.
We're going to answer your start to sit questions.
It's not like a very produced show.
It's not segments and this and that. It's really just a Q&A. So we're going to answer tons and tons of questions.
And we're going to have a good time. YouTube.com slash fantasy football today. That's going to be
me, Dave and Heath for the most part, every Sunday morning, 1130 to 1 p.m. Eastern. One more time,
YouTube.com slash fantasy football today. And you can see all of our content at that website, news and notes, Joe Burrow on the injury report with the wrist. He's going to play.
You think this was just procedural or any alarm bells for Burrow?
I think procedural. I mean, you saw a video of him throwing to Jamar chase yesterday,
which was the best news of all. So, um, you know, look, we heard from our buddy, Marty,
our, our fantasy doctor that joined us a couple of times this off season that So, you know, look, we heard from our buddy Marty,
our fantasy doctor that joined us a couple times this offseason,
that it's probably something that was going to linger for a while and, you know, may have some soreness, may have some issues.
But if he's playing through it, I think you've got to start him
unless you just have an overwhelmingly great replacement option.
And he's getting chased back, so that's fantastic.
He is getting chased. Is he definitely getting chased back. So that's fantastic. He is getting chased. Is he definitely
getting chased back this week? I would be surprised if Chase is practicing and doesn't play. He may
not be his full allotment of snaps, but if Jamar Chase is out there, I'm starting Joe Burrow,
especially against the Patriots. Yeah. As you said, especially against the Patriots,
are you expecting the Patriots defense to not be so good? Well, I mean, they're down arguably the two best, you know,
defensive players up front from a year ago with Judon and Barmore.
So is the secondary that good? Is Gerard Mayo that good?
You know, is he going to create that much magic with what he has?
You know, I don't think so.
I think that's one of the questions I want to have answered in week one.
How bad are the Patriots?
Yep. And look, barmore played like four games
last year right so um no judon judon played like four games last year he's on the falcons now
barmore is a big loss i don't know about for their past defense but for their run defense for sure
uh kyle pitts people were people were oh man twitter went nuts kyle pitts has his hamstring
issue but it's from a couple of weeks ago. What's the deal? Right.
Like, it sounds like maybe it was just a rest day. Like, I'm not sure that the Kyle Pitts sky is falling.
What about the Justin Herbert sky?
He says he's 100%.
His foot's fine.
He even said it wasn't plantar fasciitis, right?
So what's going on with Justin Herbert?
I'm not sure but i i think the the bigger thing
is we're going to find out how much or how little he's going to throw the ball so if you know i have
him in a in a super flex league i'm perfectly fine starting him there in a one quarterback league i
can't imagine many people are confident starting justin herbert which is sad to say but that's
just the nature of i think the Chargers offense and where we are.
Yeah, and the other thing is that Daniel Popper,
who we cite a lot from The Athletic,
he gives a really good, you know,
he doesn't specifically write fantasy columns,
but good fantasy notes in his columns about the Chargers.
He said J.K. Dobbins had a great camp, was explosive.
So we'll see.
It's Dobbins and Herbert versus the Raiders this week.
Could be a very good defense.
We'll see.
But DJ Chark mispracticed with a hip injury.
Chargers receiver DJ Chark.
So we'll keep an eye on him.
Todd Bowles was asked about his run.
I hope Quentin Johnson just comes out and has a huge game.
That'd be fun.
Oh, not with all the Josh Palmer I have.
Well, I mean, they both can coexist.
You know, wouldn't it just be fun?
Look, look, I'm sure there's a lot of Gus Edwards, J.K. Dobbins truthers out there.
Wouldn't it be fun if Justin Herbert just comes out and throws the ball 45 times?
Just, hey, sorry, we fooled you.
Yes, it would.
Todd Bowles was asked about his running backs, and he said, normally you go with the hot hand at running back.
But since nobody has played yet, Rashad White obviously starts,
and then we'll kind of go from there.
Okay.
Tennessee wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins is questionable,
but starting to look like he's going to play.
We have him ranked outside the top 40, DeAndre Hopkins,
this week against the Bears.
Buffalo wide receiver Curtis Samuel practiced in full,
so he should play.
Jordan Addison and Jalen Naylor, the two and three wide receivers for the Vikings,
they both have ankle injuries, but Addison, they're optimistic about him playing.
I would assume Naylor as well, but Addison optimistic about him playing against the Giants.
I did say they said Naylor was a couple of days behind Addison, so I don't know.
Okay. Thank you then.
And it's funny with Addison. We'll talk about this game tomorrow,
but nobody drafted him to be a starter.
No one wants to trust him,
but this might be the best matchup he has all year.
The Giants secondary is just terrible.
I will say this.
If he comes out and has a good game
with TJ Hawkinson out
for who knows how many more weeks,
you can either, okay, now I have something
because of where you were able to draft him
or you try
and flip them.
Miami cornerback,
Jalen Ramsey's on the injury report with a hamstring injury.
That's a big one.
We'll keep an eye on Jalen Ramsey against the Jaguars.
The Broncos signed Patrick Sertan.
Their star status yesterday.
No,
no,
I don't look it up.
I'm going to guess limited.
Patrick Sertan contract extension for the Broncos,
Tyler Lockett, Noah fan. We're limited in practice. Looks like they're going to guess limited. Patrick Sertan contract extension for the Broncos. Tyler Lockett and Noah Fant were limited in practice.
Looks like they're going to play.
Jerry Judy practiced in full.
And Pittsburgh updates.
Roman Wilson, their rookie wide receiver, he was limited in practice.
Jalen Warren was limited.
We're expecting him to play.
And guard Isaac Sayamalo is out for week one at Atlanta.
Heath, do we have a Jalen Phillips update?
Looks like he was not a participant.
It says Achilles slash vet rest.
And Teron Armstead and Calais Campbell were both not participants
because of fully because of vet rest.
Calais Campbell, the only football player I ever hung out with in college.
Do you think he remembers that day?
I remember it now.
He probably doesn't remember it.
It wasn't very meaningful for him.
Bad MGM.
Let's do it.

One question for each game when we come back on Fantasy Football today.
Did you know that across Ontario, utility damage happens 19 times a day?'s over 4222 incidents a year don't let your next dig be one

If you're new to the show or you just don't remember,
we preview the games pretty extensively,
but we'll start with one question for each game
just to get the most important topic out there.
We kind of cover it quickly.
And also, you should reference the time codes
in the episode description.
Now, I'll say this.
The time codes, I do try a little bit
to account for commercial breaks,
but the time codes
are definitely not exact.
They're not all that close,
unfortunately,
because I don't know
how long the commercial breaks are,
but they should be within
two minutes, I'd say,
of the segment.
So at least,
like if you want to skip ahead
to a game,
click on the time code
in the episode description,
and you'll get close.
You might have to fast forward a little, but we also want you to listen to a little show, but the time code in the episode description, and you'll get close. You might have
to fast forward a little, but we also want you to listen to a little show. But I understand your
time is limited. So with that said, one question for each game. Tennessee at Chicago, do you trust
any running back in this game? Looks like we have two pretty good, very good run defenses here. Do
you trust any running back in Tennessee at Chicago? Not trust. Pollard is a low-end RB2,
maybe even mid-range RB2.
DeAndre Swift is a flex.
So is Pollard your favorite running back in this game?
Yes.
Jamie, yes?
Yes, slightly above Swift,
but once I adjust my rankings,
all of them will be outside the top 24.
Are you going to put a time code in
for explaining time codes?
Well, no.
I explained it because I don't know that people are actually aware that there are time codes.
But also, I needed to say that they're very inexact because of this.
What if somebody did know that there were time codes and they were looking and wondering
when you explained whether you put factored ads into the time codes?
No, I didn't put that in there.
I think that the running backs, we talked about the top 17 or top 18 running put factored ads into the time codes. No, I didn't put that in there. Yes.
I think that the running backs,
you know, we talked about the top 17 or top 18 running backs, whatever it was.
I think the running backs drafted after that
are going to be maybe every week,
but certainly this week going to be
the toughest start or sit decisions
for fantasy managers.
Well, there are a couple like for me
that I was not thrilled about,
mostly because of their age.
When James Conner and Aaron Jones are healthy
and don't have scary matchups, you're starting them.
Yeah.
Dallas is at Cleveland.
How many players are you confidently starting in Dallas and Cleveland?
CeeDee Lamb, Jake Ferguson.
Cooper? Not confidently, but yeah starting okay and maybe jerome fort but he's in that flex range i'd put ford in the conversation and like if david like no joke is my only tight end
i'm not looking for anybody else i'm just starting him but not But not Dak Prescott. We're not confidently starting Dak Prescott.
He's not a top 12 quarterback.
I would say Prescott and Najoku fall in the same category of
I'm not looking to replace them, per se,
but I'm not starting them with confidence.
Houston at Indianapolis,
how many Houston-wide receivers are you starting over Michael Pittman,
who combined for 100 yards in two games against the Texans last year?
On 20 targets.
Wow.
No, 18 targets.
12 and 6, yeah, 18 targets.
I would start all three of them over Michael Pittman.
In full PPR, I would start none of them over Michael Pittman.
Oh, wow.
In half PPR, I would start two of them over Michael Pittman.
Okay.
All right.
All right. All right.
I'm looking forward to breaking down that game.
Las Vegas is at the Chargers.
Start or sit Josh Palmer?
Start in three receiver leagues.
Sit.
Like Josh Palmer versus Tony Pollard and DeAndre Swift.
What are we doing?
Start the running backs.
It's tough.
I probably would still start the running backs because I'm chicken,
but I think Palmer
has a better day in PPR.
New England's at Cincinnati.
You feeling Ramondre Stevenson?
He's in that same
canoe of running backs.
It's a big canoe.
Yeah.
High influx.
A yacht.
Yeah.
Is he better than Pollard and Swift?
I'll keep going back to them.
Stevenson.
I would go Pollard, Stevenson, Swift.
I would go Chuba, Ford, Pollard, Swift, Stevenson.
Okay.
Yeah, I mean, my argument would be Bengals were bad against the run.
They allowed 4.58 yards per carry to running backs last year,
and they lost DJ Reeder, who's now on the Lions but injured.
My question is, is Antonio Gibson the passing downs back,
and are they down by 21 points in the second quarter?
That's a great point.
Gibson, yeah, I mean, Stevenson hasn't really been the passing downs back,
you know, that much.
I don't think so, really.
He's not really a third down guy,
but they threw to their running backs all the time.
We don't think that's going to happen as much this year.
Jacksonville's at Miami.
Who's a better flex in a half PPR league,
Christian Kirk or Raheem Mostert?
Mostert.
Yeah. Mostert. Yeah.
Mostert.
Okay.
Arizona at Buffalo.
How many wide receivers are worth starting in this game?
Arizona and Buffalo.
One.
Okay.
Well, two in three receiver leagues.
I think I only have one in my top 48.
I did such a bad job
in my auction the other day because I was the auctioneer
that I didn't even realize
that Keon Coleman never got nominated.
I could have gotten him with any of
my when you get to $1 bids.
I just didn't get him. I took
the worst players in the world instead of Keon.
I'm so mad at myself.
Can you pick him up on waivers?
I had the first nomination, so I had the 12th waiver wire priority, and he went
to someone else. Wow.
Yep. You may get another chance
at him.
Tennessee's at Chicago. Here we
go. Loving this matchup of
Chicago's trio of wide receivers
and Tennessee. Jamie already
mentioned all the names that they've added. LeJarius Sneed,
Chidobie Awuzie, Condre Diggs,
and Jamal Adams, and a new defensive coordinator. It is possible, right, just to throw this out there, Jamie, that. LeJarius Sneed, Chidobe Awuzie, Quandre Diggs, and Jamal Adams, and a new defensive coordinator.
It is possible, right,
just to throw this out there, Jamie,
that only LeJarius Sneed is any good
in that group of four.
I mean, you already said Jamal Adams.
He is what he is.
I don't know about Diggs.
Awuzie, apparently, his grades
weren't good last year.
His coverage, I don't know about his school,
but his coverage grades.
So, you know, it might just be names.
I don't know if it's going to be a good secondary. is correct well sneed's going to be good i mean look i don't think
he's um leaving the magic of kansas city and falling apart could happen but i don't expect
that to be the case uh so but it's better than what they had and you're talking about you know
wilson coming from a ravens defense that led the nfl
interception if i'm not mistaken compared to a titans defense that was miserable and turning
the ball over so you know they're going to play i was reading a story this morning you know they're
going to do a lot more press coverage which will help you know in creating some you know havoc back
there and so i just look at it, rookie quarterback, first NFL start against
a defense that I think is going to surprise some people with a very good corner taking on, uh,
a good number one wide receiver, but I think can, you know, limit his production in terms of more.
And I don't think anybody is rushing to start Keenan Allen or Roma Dunze this week. So Caleb
Williams, not a must-start guy by any stretch.
And DJ Moore for me is a number three receiver.
Heath, I'm going to look at this comment here.
I don't know if this is true, but I trust it.
You would know, probably.
Why is Chicago the seventh highest implied team total this week?
That seems optimistic.
That is something that Jacob Gibbs talked about a lot this summer, that just looking at their numbers, he was higher on the Bears' offense
because Vegas was higher on the bears offense because vegas was higher on the bears offense um i agree that that seems optimistic i think that
vegas is very optimistic about caleb williams and the bears offense i and like it's tough to know
how much these new corners matter you would have thought just looking based at last year's numbers,
that this is a pretty great matchup.
Yeah.
And they had,
they had Jamie mentioned they had the fewest interceptions in the NFL.
They had six that,
that should turn.
I mean,
those are kind of fluky stats,
but they also lost the Nico Autry who led their team in,
in pressures last season,
according to sharp football analysis.
So this is a really interesting game could go in any direction.
Heath,
do you have confidence in any of the Bears receivers?
I was just trying to think of who I have confidence in,
period, in this game.
Like Tony Pollard is just inside.
I think he's RB 19 or 20 for me.
And Calvin Ridley's ahead of DJ Moore for me.
So those might be my two most confident plays.
I have DeAndre Swift just outside of the top 24 running backs.
DJ Moore is just outside of the top 24 wide receivers.
Caleb Williams is not a top 12 quarterback.
I'm not in lockstep with Vegas as much,
but part of that's because we don't know
what the split's going to be like between the wide receivers.
If we come out of this game and two of these guys are 20
plus percent target share, we're going to
feel more confident starting them next week.
It's just we don't know which two it will be.
And here's
a stat that's kind of interesting. Another stat
of the game, number two. So the Bears
had a great run defense. They saw the fourth
fewest running back rush attempts in the NFL.
Only three running backs all
season had more than 15 carries against the Bears.
That's wild.
But the Bears were also really good against wide receivers.
One of the reasons why might be
they were so bad against running backs in the passing game.
They allowed 59 receiving yards per game to running backs,
which was by far the most in the NFL.
14.6 yards per game more receiving to running backs,
receiving yards per game more to running backs,
than number two, which was the Chargers.
I look back, I mean...
Second most receptions, right?
Behind Jacksonville?
Very possible.
I'm sure.
I'm sure they were up there.
I look back at this stat,
like who, you know,
teams that are giving up the most receiving yards.
It's a little bit fluid.
It's fluid.
But there are teams that stay there, you know?
And they don't have a new scheme.
I don't think they have a new scheme or anything.
So I wonder how that factors in for Spears and Pollard. They both
should be in the mix for catches. I think it comes down to look week one is always tricky because
you drafted certain guys to be starters for your team and how many people have that quality of
players on their bench that are going to, you know,
be worth starting.
So,
you know,
there are people that drafted Rashi rice late that could be starting over
some people,
you know,
we could have situations where,
you know,
you got lucky with running back X or whatever.
But I think in terms of like the,
the Titans running backs and even Deandre Swift,
like if you went here,
RB zero RB,
you know,
and they're your RB two,
you're RB2,
you're probably just starting them and hoping for the best.
You'd start Rasheed Rice
over everyone in this game, basically?
Oh, that's not close.
Yeah, for sure.
He was drafted behind DJ Moore
for most of the year.
Ridley's in a tough spot.
Moore's in a tough spot.
The other two Bears receivers
are tough to trust.
You can't play DeAndre Hopkins
coming off the injury
if he starts.
It's a really wild card game two bears receivers are tough to trust. You can't play Deandre Hopkins coming off the injury. Like if he, if he starts like there's just,
it's a really sort of a wild card game because you have,
you know,
a whole new offense in play for Chicago and you have basically a whole new everything in play for Tennessee.
So I think we're going to be surprised one way or the other.
Like if the Titans defense comes out and like shuts down this passing game,
it's going to be a,
whoa.
Okay.
Can't play against them.
Or will it be panic on Caleb Williams?
I don't think so.
I mean, you know, based on what Adam said, you know, rookie quarterbacks clearly struggle
in their first couple of starts.
Yeah.
Go look at Stroud last year.
It was against the Ravens, but he wasn't great.
Yeah.
It's a great point.
Calvin Ridley or Deontay Johnson.
I'll read some questions from the chat if they're relevant to this this game calvin ridley or deontay johnson ppr
both are sits for me but i would lean ridley slightly i would go ridley and ridley's a start
for me right now if deandre gets a full practice in then he probably moves into that wide receiver
three range two fair actually only four wide receivers had more than 69 yards against the
bears last year only seven wide receivers had more than 69 yards against the bears last year
only seven wide receivers had more than eight targets because they like i said they just threw
to running backs against the bears and the bears jalen johnson's really good yes he is they also
added safety kevin byard and they were sixth in points per game allowed from weeks 9 through 18
10th and yards per game 15th and yards per play that was after they traded for montez sweat
all right i think we're done here.
You're sitting the quarterbacks.
I have to start Caleb Williams in a couple leagues,
but I'm thrilled about it.
We talked about the running backs.
Pollard's like RB20-ish.
Ridley, going to be a number three receiver for everyone
if Hopkins plays.
Right now, he's a low-end number two receiver for Heath.
I want to clarify, not if Hopkins plays.
If Hopkins is a full go at some point.
If Hopkins is going to go out there at 60%, then I'm still starting Ridley.
Sid Okonkwo, DeAndre Swift is a little bit behind Tony Pollard, but he's in the RB2 slash flex conversation. We'll start comparing him to other players. We already talked about the Chicago wide
receivers at nausea, ad nauseum. And the Bears DST is 12th for Jamie,
16th for Dave, 15th for Heath.
We go to Dallas at Cleveland.
Cleveland's defense, number one in yards per play.
They gave up points, but number one in yards per play.
They were the best third down defense.
They were terrible in the red zone, though.
They allowed touchdowns on 71.4% of red zone trips,
the worst red zone defense in football last year,
the Cleveland Browns.
That's wild.
Dallas is defense fifth in scoring last year,
but lost Dan Quinn.
Okay.
So you said you guys both have Dak Prescott 14.
I think one thing we just keep saying this and I'm guilty of it too.
Mike Zimmer is pretty good.
He is.
He's kind of at this point.
I don't know.
I mean,
he's older,
obviously like as a coordinator though, he's older, obviously.
As a coordinator, though, he was always very successful.
Very.
And, you know, again, Jimmy's in Joe's and X's and O's.
Like, we'll see if he's got the players, which he does, you know, to make it work.
Is he Dan Quinn?
Probably not.
But it's not like they just went to, you know, Joe Schmoe off the street.
And I think, like, it's something to keep in mind for everybody except for CeeDee Lamb because nobody cares.
But the Cowboys have an implied total in this game of 19.5.
Wow.
And there were two or three teams that scored, I think it was two of nine, scored more than 20 points in Cleveland last year.
Yeah, they were a lot better at home than on the road defensively.
Let me just see Rico Dowdle's roster percentage.
He's 89% rostered.
Right now, Rico Dowdle's 6% started.
People haven't set their rosters,
but he's not going to be started.
Just don't do it, right?
He's not going to be started by the Cowboys.
Yeah, don't start either one, right?
Zeke or Dowdle?
Right.
But this was the weakness
for both of these teams last year.
Their run defenses
were their weaknesses.
So as good as they were,
they were not great against the run.
They were better against the pass.
I don't want to.
I would start Zeke over Dowdle
if I had juice.
I don't want to overcomplicate this game.
I mean, I feel like
the toughest call here is Dak
because people drafted him
obviously to be a starter.
Oh yeah, Cooper too.
All right, let's talk about
Dak and Cooper. Well, Ford also.
I mean... Okay.
Let's overcomplicate.
And Ferguson.
Well, that's the thing about Ferguson and Njoku.
Even if you don't like their matchups, you're not streaming someone over them.
We already said that, right?
Most likely, no. Okay.
I'm starting Ferguson.
So, Len, let's go to...
The Titans got targets against the Browns last year.
They did well.
Yeah.
They gave up the seventh fewest fantasy points
to tight ends, but the good ones did pretty well.
I believe it was seven tight ends had at least five targets
against the Browns, and four of them
scored at least 13 points.
Nice. Dak Prescott.
Any streamers you'd start over him?
No. If you consider Goff a streamer.
Would you start Tua over him?
I would start Tua and Trevor both over him.
100% agree with that.
Tua and Trevor Lawrence over him.
You know, I was looking at secondary rankings from PFF.
They do their preseason rank list and sharp football analysis.
Both of them had the Dolphins top five.
PFF had the Dolphins secondary fifth, and sharp football had them third.
Obviously, Ramsey needs to play.
But just saying for Trevor Lawrence.
Just saying.
It's not just the secondary, though.
The pass rush is not going to be the same.
You have Wilkins missing in the middle.
You have Phillips potentially out.
You have Bradley Chubb definitely out.
Like you could talk all you want to about chop Robinson and how good he can
potentially be as a rookie,
but that front is not going to allow the secondary to cover for as long as
they will.
Yeah.
Okay.
Sorry.
So start Lawrence and Tua over Dak Prescott,
sit the running back,
start CD lamb.
Don't start Brandon cook,
start Jake Ferguson,
sit to Sean Watson. Although obviously this is a guy I'm very interested in seeing here. over Dak Prescott, sit the running back, start CeeDee Lamb, don't start Brandon Cook, start Jake Ferguson, sit Deshaun Watson,
although obviously this is a guy I'm very interested in seeing here.
He averaged a little more than 20 fantasy points per game
in his five healthy starts.
So yeah, Jerome Ford, big difference in the rankings.
Jamie's got him 28th.
He will move up for me. I need to adjust it.
Okay, Heath has him 14th in PPR, 10th in non-PPR.
18th.
Okay, it was the case. This happensPR, 10th in non-PPR. 18th. Okay.
It was the case.
This happens when I preview a game early in the week.
The rankings get updated.
So you settled on him at 18th, Jerome Ford, in PPR.
Go ahead.
Make your case here.
I just don't think like Deontay Foreman or Pierre Strong
are going to see more than five to eight touches in this game. I
think the better way to attack this Dallas defense is on the ground. And he is a running back on a
home team that is a favorite. That's generally a good recipe. And Ford was very good when he was
the full-time starting running back last year. Yeah, probably around 18th per game, something
like that. And Jamie, where do you think you'll get on Jerome Ford?
He'll be somewhere between 20 and 24.
Okay, so he's a low-end starter.
Amari Cooper or Jerome Ford?
Ford.
Ford for sure in half PPR, in full PPR.
I've got 13.3 on the projection for Cooper,
and I've got 13.9 for the projection for Cooper, and I've got 13.9 for Ford.
So Ford and everything.
Yeah, it's hard to really look at this Cowboys matchup
from last year,
because Diggs tore his ACL early in the year,
but now Deron Bland is out.
Bland had five pick sixes last year,
six pick whatever it was, set a record.
Cooper was unstoppable last season,
unless it was
Dorian Thompson-Robinson, quarterback.
All right.
You guys heard it. He's a flex?
Cooper? Yeah. Must start guy in
three receiver leagues. Borderline starter in two receiver leagues.
I just think Ford might have a higher ceiling.
He is one spot
ahead. We were talking about DJ Moore.
He's one spot ahead for me,
but they're like.02 points difference in the projections. Basically tied about DJ Moore. He's one spot ahead for me, but they're like.02 points difference in the projections.
So basically tied with DJ Moore.
Very high-end wide receiver three.
I would start him over Moore.
I would start him over Pittman too.
You wouldn't start any...
Are there any receivers who were drafted after Cooper
that you'd start over him?
Would you start Christian Kirk over Cooper?
Yes.
Would you start...
I know it's going to sound crazy,
but just because he's paired with your start of the week,
Jamison Williams?
No, I wouldn't do that.
But I would start Godwin over him,
who was drafted after Cooper.
I would start Kirk over him.
And if you're looking for the most upside,
I might consider Christian Watson.
I mean, technically,
Rushie Rice was drafted after him, right?
Yeah.
Yes.
I'd start him over him for sure.
Tank Dell?
You and your technicalities.
Tank Dell, right?
Yeah, same time.
Yeah.
Dell or Cooper?
Dell.
All right.
Would you start the DSTs in this game?
This is one of those situations like we talked about yesterday.
If I drafted the Ravens, I'm not dropping them.
I don't want to carry two DSTs.
So, yes, look, it's a low point total.
Look, the Browns should do well.
You've got the Cowboys with two new offensive linemen,
so Miles Garrett may have a field day.
And we know Dak can be turnover prone at times in his career.
And Watson still, to me, he's got to prove it.
Like shoulder soreness as early as two weeks ago
recently as two weeks ago like that's not encouraging and some of the most hilarious
terrible throws in his limited action in cleveland so like he might just hand them a pick six uh yeah
and good news for the browns jack conklin and jedrick wills their tackles they were both limited
in practice coming off injuries.
All right, we're going to take a break here.
And when we come back, Houston at Indianapolis,
a big game in the AFC South.
We'll be right back on FFT.
As we learned from our email yesterday and from that promo that anyone watching on YouTube just saw,
this podcast can actually help get you out of traffic situations.
It's true.
Good stuff.
Houston at the Colts.
The drafts were great last night.
Absolutely fantastic.
Oh, good stuff, man.
Three 16-team leagues run by Jamie.
That is...
With three overlapping drafts.
World-class stuff.
Stat of the game number one,
the Colts allowed the fewest receiving yards
to wide receivers out of the slot in 2023.
I hesitate to say slot receivers.
It's just wide receivers who were lined up in the slot. The Colts, their best cornerback is Kenny Moore. He to say slot receivers. It's just wide receivers
who are lined up in the slot.
The Colts, their best cornerback
is Kenny Moore.
He's a slot corner.
Does that have an impact in this game?
I mean, is it like,
like Tank Dell lit them up last year
in the one game he played,
but he only played 20% of his snaps
from the slot.
Do we know how that's going to shake out
for the Texans?
And does that matter at all?
If there is a bad mashup against the Colts,
it's slot receiver.
I think that they
like, I know that Tank Dale mostly played
in the slot in the preseason. What they did last
year for the most part was just move guys
all over the place. And I think
they're going to do that again. I'm not
not necessarily downgrading anybody
because of that. Dale is my
third favorite Texans receiver this week.
Slightly behind Diggs. Obviously, Nico's the best one.
He destroyed this team.
Oh, my God.
Just absolutely lit them up
in two games.
Nico, yeah, Nico had,
yeah, he had like 700 yards
in two games.
Tank Dell played in one of them,
and they both had great games.
What do you have,
nine for 195 in the second one?
He had seven for 146
in a touchdown in the first game, and nine for 195 in a touchdown in the second one. He had seven for 146 and a touchdown in the first game and nine for 195 and a
touchdown in the second game.
He averaged 31 points per game.
Basically it's just insane in two games against the Colts.
The,
uh,
the thing about digs this week is you,
you,
it just right now,
everything's positive.
Made him a captain first game,
show off your new toy,
big,
you know, match up up here i think he has
for me it's enough to start him um not necessarily slam dunk in two receiver leagues but like i said
for me i would put him ahead of of dell just for this week but i think all three are better than
pitman um this texans defense is no joke it's like richardson is is a start based on uh i'll
use our buddy robert turbin's word hope because of what he brings with his legs it's like Richardson is, is a start based on, uh, I'll use our buddy, Robert Turbin's word hope because of what he brings with his legs.
It's not a good matchup for him by any stretch either,
because the pass rush is going to be tough for him.
And the secondary is definitely gonna be tough,
but you're hoping he does enough as a playmaker just to overcome that.
I,
I I'm a little nervous about the Colts offense this week,
aside from,
you know,
you're starting John to tell you.
Heath.
Yeah.
And this was by the way,
the best run defense in the NFL.
They allowed the Texans, they allowed four carries to running backs
that went for 20 or more yards last year,
and two of them were Jonathan Taylor in Week 18.
So he actually had a huge game in Week 18 against them,
but this was a terrific run defense.
Heath, do you have these concerns?
You said earlier that Pittman is your highest-ranked receiver in the game
in full PPR, but not in half.
Yeah.
I generally start the week with what does Vegas say in terms of score.
And 48.5 over-unders, one of the four highest over-unders in the slate,
and the Colts are only three-point underdogs.
So that's a 22, 23-point implied total,
which puts you in a pretty decent spot.
I'm not shying away from Pittman or Taylor.
It wasn't very good last year against the Texans,
but he also had 13.6 fantasy points in one of those games,
even with 56 yards.
He's going to be peppered with targets.
We don't think Josh Downs is going to be there.
Better in PPR for sure than in half PPR.
But I also expect that Anthony Richardson
is going to be more efficient this year
than Gardner Minshew was.
And by the way, you talk about what a guy did
against the team last year.
Anthony Richardson had two rushing touchdowns
and 35 rushing yards in a little bit more than a quarter.
That's why you start.
Yeah.
Right.
Like it doesn't necessarily matter what he does as a passer,
how many sacks he takes.
I mean,
it matters.
It matters,
but obviously we know what Richardson is.
So I don't,
the way I look at this game is like Joe Mixon has a tough matchup.
The Colts allowed 3.4 yards per carry to running backs with Grover Stewart on
the field.
He had,
I think a six game suspension and 4.6 yards per carry with Stewart backs with Grover Stewart on the field. He had, I think, a six-game suspension.
And 4.6 yards per carry with Stewart off the field.
But he's playing.
Taylor has a tough matchup.
Pittman has a tough matchup.
If guys struggle in this game, don't panic.
But you're obviously starting just about everyone.
I mean, I could see the Texans receivers, Dell and Diggs,
being tough calls for people,
especially in two receiver leagues.
And Pittman, and Pittman.
But the running backs are obviously,
they're starting.
The quarterbacks are starting them.
The tight ends, you're not.
No, it's hard to trust Schultz.
He didn't have two good games.
He didn't have a good game in the two matchups against the Colts.
And you threw another receiver into the mix as well.
So, yeah,
stay away. I am, like, I'm still, like, I drafted Schultz and Hawkinson
in several leagues towards the end.
I'm starting Schultz over one of the
finish. But you wouldn't do that if you could pick
up Noah Fant, to be like, right? If he's healthy.
I've got Schultz ahead of Fant.
You do? Okay. Yeah. So, how
about, like,
where do you rank Nico Dell digs?
Nico is a top 12 receiver.
Digs and Dell are inside the top 30.
Nico, 16.
Dell, 24.
Digs, 30.
Okay, some questions from the chat.
Digs or flowers?
Digs.
And that's it from the chat. Diggs or Flowers? Diggs. And that's it from the chat.
If you have any questions about this game, go for it.
Oh, here's a Tank Dell question.
This is a trade.
Tank Dell for George Pickens.
Who would you rather have?
Pickens.
Pickens.
Yeah, do that.
I got so mad at my friend, I told him to take George Pickens, and he drafted last night.
Who did he take?
Someone else.
Now I'm pissed at him.
Now we're not friends anymore.
Oh, Nico or Higgins?
Nico.
That's a question.
There we go.
I was just buying time.
Nico.
All right.
I think we could be done here.
Texans DST?
Low end starter.
I don't want to.
I feel like you're going to get some sacks and maybe some
turnovers against Richardson this year.
I don't think... Richardson
didn't look to me like... I mean, maybe turnovers,
but he did not look like a guy who was going to take a lot
of sacks last year.
I feel like Justin Fields took a lot of
sacks, right?
Anthony Richardson has much better pocket presence
than Justin Fields.
Yeah, just the guys who try to extend the play a lot.
You know, sometimes it works.
Hold the ball, you get sacked.
Yep.
Las Vegas is at the Chargers.
Is this an interesting fantasy game for you or no?
I guess because I want to see what the Chargers do.
But mostly it's just gross.
I don't want to start a Charger
and like Zemir White and Devontae Adams
are low-end starters.
Why is Devontae Adams a low-end starter?
Because I feel like the Chargers,
unless you think the Chargers defense
is going to be good,
they could.
They have to improve.
I think they're going to play slow, ugly football.
This game has an over-under of 40.5,
and the Raiders are three-point underdogs.
So, Zamir White is in this big group of those running backs we talked about,
the big canoe, the yacht, the flex yacht.
Does anybody feel strongly about him compared to Tony Pollard and
Ramondre Stevenson and Jerome Ford and this and that?
Better than all those guys.
Yes.
I like Hubbard and Ford better than him.
I like white better than Swift and the Cowboys.
Okay.
Devante Adams did very well
against this team
last year
15.5 fantasy points
in week 4
24.1 points
in week
whatever it was
oh and the last time
they played
the Raiders scored
63 points
so take that
take that boring
that will not
that's not gonna happen
this week
that was the Austin Eckler first down.
What was that?
They were down like 40 points, and he had a big run.
And he popped up, and he went.
And then Brandon Staley got fired after that game, right?
Starter said Brock Bowers.
I would sit him.
First game,
still dealing with the foot injury.
Chargers were good against tight ends last year.
They were not good against quarterbacks.
They were horrible against quarterbacks.
Do you think Minshew is a good super flex start?
Do you think he's a good DFS start?
I don't think they're going to be a bad defense.
I don't think any,
any statistics that they were bad at last year,
defensively,
I would throw out.
I agree.
Okay.
And then Dobbins or Edwards, who do you guys rank higher?
Edwards, but I don't like either one.
I don't have either one currently in my top 36 running backs.
But Daniel Popper really makes me want to rank J.K. Dobbins
ahead of Gus Edwards.
I could get excited about J.K. Dobbins ahead of Gus Edwards. I could get excited about J.K.
Dobbins. I have zero
excitement at all about Gus Edwards.
Half PPR league, Jordan wants to know
Zemir White or Ramondre Stevenson?
White.
Josh Palmer or Brian
Robinson? Robinson.
Half PPR.
Moss or Ramondre? Zach Moss or Ramondre?
Zach Moss or Ramondre?
That's not this game, sorry, but answer it anyway.
Ramondre.
Ramondre.
And is Justin Herbert a start?
No.
Justin Herbert is not in my top 24 quarterbacks.
Okay.
Would you start a DST in this game?
Chargers.
Yeah. Speaking of DSTs,
did I miss anything from this game?
Raiders, Chargers, are we good?
Jacoby Myers.
Yeah, I didn't feel like I missed him.
Vlad Mikhalky.
It's a wait-and-see game.
Palmer's interesting.
Can we say if you feel comfortable
about getting 12 points,
you just want to make sure you get
a decent start at your flex.
Those stats that I
cited a lot this year were in a different
environment.
I need to see...
It's possible they throw the ball
27 times.
You don't think Josh Palmer's a safe
bet for 12 fantasy points? No.
I mean, he scored 13 or more in
two of his last three games against
the Raiders.
Again, I agree with Heath. You can't necessarily look
in this situation year
over year, but
he still should lead the team in targets.
So what did you say? 27 passes?
Yeah. I mean,
seven targets? Eight targets? All right I mean, seven targets, eight targets.
All right.
People think one person thinks we've talked about this game too much.
And I think I agree.
So let's go on to a game of the week,
new England at Cincinnati.
Now I was going to say,
speaking of DSTs,
you guys have the bangles as a top two.
You still have them as a top two DST.
Yes.
Number one for me.
Yeah.
So let's talk about that because this defense
was the worst in football
in yards per play last year.
Doesn't matter.
It doesn't not matter, though?
Like, are we really?
They were not good.
They were not a good defense.
How was the Patriots' offense
in yards per play?
I mean, it's terrible.
Well, but still,
you're not the kind of guy
to stream bad defenses, Heath.
We get to this argument
like five times a year.
Dave, me, and Jamie,
we've got this bad defense facing this crap offense,
and you've got them ranked like 15th.
There probably is one of those this week,
but it's not the Bengals against the Patriots.
Okay.
It might be the Giants against the Vikings.
To be honest, the most shocking thing about this game
is that it's only eight and a half points.
Patriots to Bengals. Yes, it's Bengals minus eight and a
half over under 40 and a half.
They added
Geno Stone and Von Bell to their secondary.
That's a big deal for the Bengals.
They should be better. Here are
some wide receivers who had fewer than
60 yards against the Patriots last year.
Devontae Smith, Tyreek Hill
once, Garrett Wilson twice, CeeDee Lamb,
Chris Olave, Devontae Adams, Stefan Diggs twice,
Keenan Allen, and Deontay Johnson.
Is this a tough matchup for the
passing game for the Bengals?
No.
I don't love Tee Higgins.
I do.
I mean, I'm actually a little
nervous about Jabbar Chase,
not in a fantasy-relevant way.
There's no way I'd sit him, but I've got, you know,
I wish he had been practicing more.
Yeah.
How do you see this game?
Obviously, Vegas does not see the Bengals destroying the Patriots here.
Eight and a half is a big number, but, you know,
40 and a half is a low total.
I wonder if that gets bumped up a point if Chase is guaranteed to play.
So what does this mean for Moss and Brown?
I think they're both worth using as flexes this week.
You're talking about a situation where they should win this game, no bar more.
We don't know who's going to be the lead runner.
I would lean toward Moss early in the season based on just being just being a veteran and healthy right now so must start no but wouldn't surprise
me if both of them get you know 12 to 15 total touches and both find the end zone they're very
close to rb 30 for me 31 and 33 i think um ahead of theboys, ahead of the chargers behind most everybody else we've talked about.
And behind Ramondre Stevenson,
obviously.
And,
um,
would you flex T Higgins Heath since you're a little hesitant or Zach Moss,
Chase Brown,
Higgins,
T Higgins or Ramondre Stevenson,
Higgins,
Higgins,
sit. One of these guys,
Higgins,
Debo or waddle Higgins. Higgins. Sit one of these guys. Higgins, Debo, or Waddle?
Higgins.
Debo.
I have so much T. Higgins. No, Higgins.
I have too much T. Higgins.
I have a bunch of T. Higgins.
Let's go T. Higgins.
I feel like he's our guy.
I feel like he's our FFT guy.
We've been talking about him so much.
Great value.
We love T. Higgins.
Hooray.
I think I'm my most rostered
best ball receiver.
If you're wondering
about Christian Gonzalez,
first round pick
for the Patriots last year,
cornerback,
he did not shadow.
I think he played
only four games.
He did not shadow A.J. Brown.
He did not shadow C.D. Lamb.
He's good,
but they didn't use him
in that capacity last year.
Any interest in the tight ends in this game?
Revenge game for Gusecki.
Yeah.
But no.
Henry, flyer at best.
Henry is my favorite tight end in the game.
Okay.
Out of two.
It's an endorsement.
No.
Austin Hooper's there.
Oh, Hooper.
Hey, Hooper.
And any interest in a Patriots wide receiver?
Okay, no, we'll move on.
All right, I think I'm good with this game.
Jacksonville's at Miami.
Your stat of the game.
So Jacksonville allowed the third most receiving yards
to running backs last year.
And they also added... Oh, they added, who did they add, everybody?
They added Armstead to their defensive line.
So, yeah, maybe this is a good, better game.
It seems funny saying this because I know everyone's drafting
and ranking A-chan ahead of Mostert.
It's quite possible that's a huge mistake,
but maybe this matchup is a better A-chan matchup than Mostert matchup.
What do you think, Heath?
I think that it may be a better A-chan matchup than Mostert matchup.
My favorite stat of this game is that the Dolphins are missing 26 sacks from last season.
Last season's defense, 26 sacks on that defense are not going to be playing in week one.
Is that including Jalen Phillips?
No.
So it might be 32.
Wow.
Okay.
So this game you guys like
in terms of starts here,
like we're getting excited?
Oh, yeah.
All right, let's go.
Dish, what do we like?
I mean, every relevant dolphin.
You like Mostert better than Ramondre?
Oh, yes.
And better than Swift and Pollard?
Yes.
Better than Swift, not better than Pollard.
How about Mostert versus Ford and Hubbard?
Much better.
I don't like Hubbard this week,
so much better than Ford also. I've got Ford and Hubbard? Much better. I don't like Hubbard this week, so much better than Ford.
I've got Ford and Hubbard higher.
All right.
And A-Chan, is he top 12 guy this week?
13.
All right.
Who do you like better, Lawrence or Tua?
Tua slightly.
It is basically a coin flip,
but Tua is slightly ahead.
And you like them both better than Dak, as we said.
Both better than Caleb Williams?
Yep.
Yes.
I like both better than Jay and Daniels, and I like Daniels.
Yep.
Brock Purdy?
Yep.
Much better than...
Okay.
Start Travis Etienne.
Yep.
Christian Kirk.
Jamie, did you move him up?
Because you had him in the 30s.
I will, yes. Top 24 guy, or right around him? you had him in the 30s. I will, yes.
Top 24 guy or right around him?
He'll be in the top 30 in that range.
Better than Pittman, better than DJ Moore for me.
Start Ingram.
And what about Brian Thomas and or Gabe Davis then?
Thomas is, I think, number three receiver.
But you got to be a little bit nervous to start him his first game.
But like he said,
this pass rush is going to be a little bit shaky.
So there'll be some opportunities there.
There'll be a big player too.
He may find the end zone.
Um,
if you have a,
a solid receiving core,
I don't think you start them,
but if you don't need a three receiver in a flex league,
uh,
not a bad option.
I, I would prefer to sit Brian Thomas this first week. You don't need a three receiver in a flex league. Not a bad option.
I would prefer to sit Brian Thomas this first week.
I would start JSN over him.
Yeah, we had a question.
JSN or Brian Thomas half PPR?
How about this one?
Brian Thomas, Romo Dunze, or Josh Palmer in full PPR?
Palmer.
Palmer.
See, this is why Mike's in this league.
It's a second flex.
This is why I like second flex.
These are tough decisions.
This requires some work, some thought process.
I like this stuff.
Start more players, people.
Start more players.
What? I don't think this was supposed to be a joke.
It says, why no John O. Smith love?
There were reports the Dolphins wanted to slow down the offense,
which I guess would mean involving John O. Smith more. There were reports the Dolphins wanted to slow down the offense, which I guess
would mean involving John O. Smith more,
would slow it down.
He was listed as an F
on the team's first depth chart.
Apparently, Mike McDaniel
said that's a football player,
but he is their second team F
behind Alec Ingold.
Okay.
By the way, the Dolphins wanting to slow it down.
I do remember reading a few months ago,
they realized they are a little too reliant on the big play.
They need to be a more balanced offense.
So it could look a little bit different this year.
Yeah.
Kirk or McCoy?
I really, I think I know what they mean by that.
I hope they're not trying to have fewer big plays.
The big plays are what you need.
Kirk or McLaurin?
You don't want to cut back on the big plays, guys.
I don't think given the state of their defense,
they want to go and grind it out and try and, you know.
No, but it would be interesting if we had lower A-dots
and more catches for these guys, or more running.
Kirk or McLaurin is the question here.
Kirk. Kirk. Ramondre Stevenson
or Christian Kirk? Kirk.
Kirk in PPR. Half PPR?
Kirk.
All right. We're done with
this game. Jalen Waddell, sorry, where's
he ranked for you? Top
15. Stored him.
Wait a second. Is this our last game? Oh my gosh.
One more game. We're flying through it today. Iored them. Wait a second. This is our last game? Oh, my gosh. One more game.
We're flying through it today.
I love it.
Arizona's at Buffalo.
Stat of the game number one.
Only four wide receivers had double-digit targets against Arizona, and they actually were pretty good in their last eight games.
They held Drake London, Nico Collins, Pukunukua, Cooper Cup,
Deontay Johnson, George Pickens, Brandon Ayuk, DJ Moore,
A.J. Brown, Devontae Smith, and D. and DK Metcalf to fewer than 14 PPR fantasy points. It doesn't really
matter because you're not starting a Bills wide receiver, but last year it was kind of weird.
They ended up being pretty good against receivers. Here's something that I'm keeping an eye on for
Buffalo and their defense. I don't think you can carry anything over. I mean, their secondary is
so different, but one of the things the Bills do every year,
they are so good at eliminating the big play.
They have been top three in fewest completions
of 25 or more yards allowed in three straight seasons.
Can the Bills keep doing that under Sean McDermott?
It's going to be a real test for them
because they just, I don't know.
I don't really buy their secondary.
PFF has their
secondary ranked third. Sharp football has their secondary ranked 19th. PFF, I think, basically
does it, I think, mostly based on their grades from last year. But like, I don't know. Is Rasul
Douglas really going to be good? We'll see. That's my long rant about the Bills defense.
Is this game difficult at all?
Are there any tough calls in this game?
Are there any tough?
I mean, I think Shakir and or Coleman
are worth using in that similar range of
if you have three receivers and a flex type of format
just because he's going to throw to somebody.
I mean, it's not like there's going to be
no options in the passing game that are going to be worth anything.
So depending on what your team looks like,
you could be starting one of those guys.
Obviously, Kincaid's a must-start guy.
James Cook's a must-start guy.
James Conner?
I'm a little bit worried about Conner.
Okay.
Let's talk about that, Heath.
You have highlighted his lack
of involvement in the passing game.
They're six and a half point underdogs.
If they're playing from behind
and throwing a lot in the second half,
is it James Conner catching those
passes?
They pretty much used
Trey McBride as the nump off guy last year.
Okay. Well, where do you have him ranked? Where do you have James Conner
ranked? He's around 20.
24. Okay.
24.
So I know for you he's behind Chuba Hubbard and Jerome Ford.
He is. Jamie?
He's ahead of those guys.
Okay.
Kyler is an easy start this week?
Yes.
I'm starting him.
Start Harrison. And DST? is an easy start this week? Yes. I'm starting him.
Start Harrison.
And, yeah, DST?
I'd avoid them if you can,
but again, most people drafted the Bills to be starters, so... Yeah, I...
I did, and I'm not...
I did in one league,
and I've kind of been feeling like,
why did I do that?
I think I might just drop them and pick up somebody
that has a good matchup.
Am I just wrong about the Bills DST?
I mean, I've been wrong a few times before.
Not the DST, their defense in general.
I'm just concerned about it.
So it goes back to, again, you know,
how much you trust the system and the coach,
and the coach has been very good.
Their pass rush may be very good especially if von
miller can return to form which is hard to ask of the player in his age but if he does then that's
going to cover up a lot of mistakes yeah i like up front yeah they're good up front but milano's out
for a while and they're secondary i mean they had micah hyden joined poor back there forever
and now it's just different they don't't have Tredavious White anymore.
You know, not that he was so good, but it's just
the guys that made them great are gone.
And it's a new
cast of characters for the Bills.
Wow. One hour
for a Starter Sid episode
on a full slate.
Except Thomas hates you right now, but sure.
No, Thomas is thrilled. Are you kidding?
He gets to start editing earlier.
OK, thank you, guys.
Thank you, Heath and Jamie.
Let's have some fun tonight.
Huh?
What are we eating?
What are we eating tonight, Heath?
Wings.
OK.
Should I order wings?
I'm making wings, but yeah, you should probably.
You're making wings.
I'm not making wings.
I could.
You know what?
I could make wings.
If I have time, I'll go buy some wings and I'll put them in the.
You would microwave your wings. I bake them and they're good. I could, you know what? I could make wings. If I have time, I'll go buy some wings and I'll put them in the oven.
You would microwave your wings.
No,
I bake them and they're good.
You know,
they're good.
All right.
You know,
I had a burger the other day.
I love the burger
that has that like charred taste
on the top.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
I love that.
Don't get that in the oven.
No,
you don't get that.
Did you buy it or are you?
No,
I went,
when I was drafted,
when I was doing the auction
at the bar the other night.
So good.
All right.
I'm done.
We're out.
We'll talk to you tomorrow with the NFC home games,
and we will review Thursday Night Football.
Let's go football.
See ya.
