This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
No, I can't.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Off to the races, and he stays on his feet.
He's just going to go the distance.
Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
Good morning, everybody.
Happy Friday, and welcome to Fantasy Football Today,
presented by BetMGM, the sportsbook born in Vegas.
I am borderline offended by how poorly the Saints played last night.
It was an insult to football, and really just a boring, boring game.
It's going to get so much better, folks,
we promise. But hey, big night for Javante Williams, big night for the Broncos DST. And
let's talk about it here. We also have six games to take a look at today. And those games
are pretty good ones. Detroit at Minnesota, Houston at Green Bay, Seattle at Atlanta,
Carolina at Washington, Philadelphia at the Giants. And Las Vegas at the Rams.
Good morning, Dave and Jamie.
Happy Friday, guys.
Yo.
Good morning.
Detroit 33, New Orleans 10.
How about Denver 33, New Orleans 10?
Also them.
Denver 33, New Orleans 10.
I thought you were about to get me on Game of the Week with that.
No, this was anything but.
Yeah, just really.
I love Detroit being in the Game of the Week.
I know.
Right.
I don't know if they're the Game of the Week.
In fact, I completely forgot about it until just now.
I sure you did.
Right.
I swear.
Every week you forget about it, and then it comes up in the show, and it's fine.
But just get the right game.
I remember, like, eventually. I'm going to look in the show and it's fine. But just get the right game. I remember like eventually.
I'm going to look at the schedule and figure that out.
But what are your fantasy thoughts on yesterday?
You said it.
We can move on.
That's it.
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
Yeah. Well, okay. Give me your thoughts
on Javante Williams who had
14 carries, 88 yards and two touchdowns, three catches for 23 yards. And give me your thoughts on Javante Williams, who had 14 carries, 88 yards, and two touchdowns,
three catches for 23 yards.
And give me your thoughts on Alvin Kamara,
who has now been less than 40 yards or fewer in three straight games
and was a mega dud yesterday, but he did have six catches, thankfully.
I would love to see them trade him.
If you're the Saints at this point, Cam Jordan, Marshawn Lattimore,
Alvin Kamara, get some assets and just blow up the whole thing
in time to rebuild.
This is not going anywhere.
Derek Carr is certainly not going to lead you back to the playoffs
or anything of significance.
I mean, look, Javante is in a good spot.
It's funny.
I do a prop segment for the Thursday night, Monday night game,
and I said, oh, he's going to get 80 to 90 yards rushing.
And he's going to score his first touchdown.
So I was happy to see that come through.
It was a very low number.
It was like 44 and a half was his rushing prop, which was weird.
The Saints are now the free space.
That's the running back you want to start against almost on a weekly basis. I mean, look
what the Bucks did the week before. Look what Javante just did. It's a good spot for Javante
because they get Carolina next week. So he's serviceable as a starter for at least the next
week. And then if you want to sell high, you sell high after that. I'm going to say Carolina is
still the free space, but New Orleans is rapidly gaining ground on them to be
another free space. And listen, this is 300 yards rushing in the last two weeks. It's terrible.
And they played almost 80 snaps on defense last week. And now here they are again on Thursday
and you could just tell they were beat up and Pete Werner, I don't think played.
They'll get some guys healthy eventually in their front seven, and that'll help them be a little bit better.
But it's not I'm not here to tell you that the Saints defense is about to rebound and be great.
But I do think that this is the best it gets for Javante Williams.
I started thinking about the teams that Alvin.
If you say Carolina is the free space, that's what he gets next week.
Oh, yeah, I love it.
Oh, listen, I want I want Javante on my lineup next week for sure.
And then after that, like you said, you could sell high teams that Alvin
Camara makes sense for.
No.
Okay.
I don't think they're going to trade Alvin Camara.
Like a contract here.
So it does make.
Yes.
Unless they're going to pay him.
Fine.
They should go ahead.
Go ahead.
Go ahead.
Kansas city, Denver.
If they're serious about trying to make a run,
and they're four and three, so they might.
And I don't know if I can even name a third one.
Oh, Dallas.
They're kind of in the same boat as New Orleans right now.
Jerry's not giving up.
I just bit my tongue.
I'd love it for fantasy, but I don't think Dallas is going anywhere.
He stinks.
And let's – hold on.
Let's update the stats now on Alvin Kamara.
He stinks?
This was your sleeper of the year?
No, but he stinks.
He's now gone 48 straight games without a carry longer than 30 yards,
and now it's 20 straight games without a 20-yard carry.
He's good for fantasy in New Orleans
because they will throw him the ball a bunch,
and his lack of rushing ability doesn't matter.
That was always my case for Alvin Kamara.
In terms of his fantasy value with him staying on the Saints rest of the season,
I mean, everything's going to get better with Derek Carr coming back,
which might be as early as next week.
So are we panicking here?
Because, I mean, this just seems... I'm mad at myself.
Not that I had anyone that I could bench him for
in the leagues that I have him in,
but, like, I knew he was...
I just knew he was going to be horrible.
I knew this offense was going to be dreadful.
Denver is a seriously good defense,
and this was embarrassing.
It just...
It feels like, duh.
So, but going forward,
I mean, isn't he still a must-start guy?
He's still a must-start guy, you know,
unless you're completely loaded at the position.
It's just, you know, you're going to have to deal with some down performances.
And certainly if it's half or non-PPR where, you know,
you're not getting the full benefit of what his game typically is.
But, yes, Derek Carr will clearly make things better for this entire team.
But they just lost Shahid.
You're hoping Carr comes back next week.
It's no guarantee.
And so is Olave going to clear the concussion protocol?
You know, there's a lot of play here with this offense that's, you know, kind of miserable right now.
How about when the offensive line gets healthy?
And that could take longer than Derek Carr coming back.
But there's still a pathway where if Kamara stays in New Orleans,
he can be a top seven, eight fantasy running back in full PPR.
I did think that, you know, I feel like his snap share was a little bit lower.
They were mixing in Kendrick Miller and Jamal Williams a little bit,
even in the first three quarters.
But still, it was good enough.
All right.
I don't know that there's much else to say about this game.
Harlan Sutton is definitely on the cut list if you need to.
Yeah, that stunk.
He'll still have some games where he scores.
Yeah, it's not an auto drop.
But it's, you know, depending on how this weekend looks
and whoever steps up and that's the worst player on your team,
then you can cut him.
And congratulations, Will Lutz revenge game.
He came through.
And Bo Nix is now
on pace for 619 rushing
yards this year.
More than his passing yards, which is impressive.
3,026 passing yards.
I saw somebody tweet.
I wish I gave him credit. I'm sorry. It was funny.
That
Sean Payton drafted
a smaller, slower Taysom Hill in the first round.
Yeah.
Drew Brees said something like that on the broadcast.
The way he threw that first drive or second drive, whatever,
where he had two guys wide open.
He underthrew and overthrew somebody in the exact same throw.
It's crazy.
Yeah, yeah.
All right.
Sunday is always a great day, always a fun day.
You know we're here for our Sunday night recap at 8 p.m.-ish Eastern.
But early in the morning, London game.
So we've got a 9 a.m. show.
So, yeah, 9 a.m.
It's only on YouTube, I think, this week.
YouTube.com slash Fantasy Football Today.
And then we're at it again at 12.
So it's 9 to 10 a.m.
and then noon to 1,
youtube.com slash fantasyfootballtoday.
Let's do some news and notes.
Drake Mays seems like he's good to go
and it seems like Russell Wilson's
going to be the starter,
but not official yet.
All right, all the running back.
I mean, based on what Justin Fields was saying,
it sounds like it's official.
Okay, so let's just assume it's going to be Russell Wilson. All right, All the running back. I mean, based on what Justin Fields was saying, it sounds like it's official. Okay.
So let's just assume it's going to be Russell Wilson.
All right.
That said, the running back news is what we really have to follow here.
And Ramondre Stevenson missed practice again,
but he's apparently making the trip to London.
So that's encouraging.
Aaron Jones was limited.
You know what?
Why don't we just go this one by one?
All right.
Jamie Patriots backfield.
Go.
Stevenson or Gibson would be a number two running back if one,
if Stevenson is active, he's number two running back.
If Gibson is starting without Stevenson there, he's number two running back.
Okay.
And remember.
Around 20th, 20 to 24.
We have a mailbag.
We have a mailbag at 2.30 p.m. on Friday.
So we'll have updated injury reports for most of these situations,
and we'll review this again.
Dave, Jacksonville running backs.
If there's no ETN, I like Bigsby
as a low-end number two fantasy running back.
I would like him better than Antonio Gibson.
This Patriots run defense has been terrible.
If ETN plays, it kind
of ruins everything. And I think that Bixby would be more of a flex and ETN. I don't know if we can
trust it because we don't know how much it's going to play. Okay. Aaron Jones was limited. We're going
to talk about that game in a little bit. James Cook practiced in full and Ray Davis was limited
with a calf injury downgraded to limited Jamie James Cook practicing in full is a great sign.
If he plays, where are you going to rank him?
He's right around 15, you know, so a good number two running back.
Very tough defense that he's facing.
And as we discussed yesterday, the injury notwithstanding, if Ray Davis is healthy,
he's going to probably get more touches than he has previously when the two
were working together because he did a great job last week against Jets.
So I would assume they should give him an opportunity to still play a little bit more.
But we'll see now.
But you're much happier to have James Cook on the field.
Rashad White was limited.
Todd Bowles said the Bucs are going to ride the hot hand.
Another game that we talked about yesterday.
Can we just say if Rashad White plays, we should sit,
try our best to sit our,
any bucks running back against Baltimore.
That's a fair thing to say.
That's fair.
I I'm fair.
The one thing I would tell you is we know the Ravens run defense has been
very good this year.
They do have some weaknesses as far as allowing pass.
We're running backs to catch passes.
And that's a role that I think Rashad White will retain.
So you might be able to squeeze out a floor of like eight PPR points,
and maybe it could get into the double digits without issue with Rashad White.
He would be my highest-ranked Bucs running back if we knew he was going to play,
but none of them would be top 24.
Jordan Mason was limited.
Jamie, your thoughts on the Niners against the Chiefs?
I'm guessing they're going to try and get him out there if they can, but they're going to be
smart about it based on what Kyle Shanahan said coming off the game last week against Seattle.
He's had extra time to get ready and get healthy because the last time he played was on a Thursday
night. So if he starts, I think he's a number two running back. I don't think you put him at the top
of the list like we have been. It's a tough matchup as well because Kansas City has just been so good
against opposing running backs, but it would be great to have Jordan Mason
out there as opposed to trying to figure out if Isaac Arendo
or Patrick Taylor is going to get more work and who would be better.
Mason or James Cook in the scenario that they both play?
Cook.
Cook.
Okay, Mason or Chuba Hubbard?
Hubbard, that's not close.
Yeah, I can't wait to tell you how good Chuba Hubbard has been
with Andy Dalton.
It's going to be our stat of the game.
Devon Achan practiced in full, so we're expecting him.
Brian Robinson practiced.
We're going to talk about that game.
Could be a good game for the running backs.
All right, Nick Chubb.
Workload's going to be a work in progress,
according to offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey.
They get the Bengals this week, Dave.
Nick Chubb, James Cook, Jordan Mason.
Where is he with those guys?
He's at the bottom.
I don't want to run Chubb in my fantasy lineup unless I am just out of other options.
And although I want to buy into him coming back and getting 20 carries for 150 yards
and two touchdowns and having a monster game, I'm nervous.
I don't know how much he's going to play.
And he could be limited to 10 touches.
And even 10 touches for Nick Chubb, we've seen that before.
It's not bad necessarily, but what's the floor?
As Heath would say, it's zero.
So I would be very cautious to use Chubb this week.
Okay, just a few more.
Zamir White was limited.
We're going to talk about that game a little bit later.
And finally, I think, Jamie, let's end it with the Colts because Trey Sermon did practice yesterday.
Still no practice for Jonathan Taylor. Can you trust any running back in this dream matchup
against the Dolphins? I think both Sermon and Goodson can be flex options depending on what
you need. I still think that Sermon will get the chance to have more carries. Goodson will
certainly have more opportunities in the passing game. I'm with you.
I would like to see the more explosive running back
at this point get more touches,
but I don't know if the Colts necessarily feel that way.
So just something to keep an eye on there
with both of them.
But Goodson should be rostered in more leagues than he is.
And Sermon, for the people that dropped him,
I think made a little bit of a too hasty move
because if Taylor is out, this matchup is too good.
There could be an opportunity here for Sermon to have a
similar type of rushing game where it was, I don't remember the exact numbers, like 10 carries for
like 30-some-odd yards. I'd put a little bit more on that. I'd take the over on that, but find the
end zone and maybe a couple catches, which he did not have last week. Maybe the efficiency goes up
a little bit for him with Anthony Richardson under center instead of Joe Flacco. I don't know. I'm
just trying to make a case to make Trey Sermon look decent.
He stinks.
But I feel like the ceiling is around like 11 non-PPR points,
and I don't think either running back could necessarily get a ton of catches
because it's Richardson under center and not Flacco.
Richardson just takes all the fun away.
Well, he sucks up all the fun for himself.
Yeah, that's what mobile quarterbacks do.
They really, they're selfish.
They're not in a mean way, but they're fantasy selfish.
Final question there.
Would you start a Bucs running back or a Colts running back?
I would start a Colts running back.
Well, I mean, I would start Jonathan Taylor
if he makes a miraculous recovery.
He's out there on the field.
I might lean toward Rashad White if it's full PPR.
What do you think Rashad White's going to do, though?
Catch four or five passes.
In the game of the week, yeah.
Oh, no.
The Bucs and the Ravens.
It's a shootout on Monday night.
It's the game
of the week. Hey!
Alright, okay. I was hoping you were going to go
Lions-Vikings as the game of the week, but
that's not a bad second choice.
You were waiting. Yeah, I had to throw you off,
man. I have to zig where others zag.
Okay, sorry about that extra question
about the running backs.

Data sourced from the
ORCGA 2023 Dirt Report.
Rashid Shaheed is out
for the season.
Tough break there.
Cooper Cup was limited.
That felt like so callous.
Like, oh, he's out for the season.
Tough break.
Next news item.
Now that stinks.
He was having a really good year
and, you know,
wish him a speedy recovery and he'll be an interesting guy to evaluate next year. And, you know, wish him a speedy recovery,
and he'll be an interesting guy to evaluate next year.
Okay, now, Cooper Cup was limited.
Jordan Whittington still limited.
Marvin Harrison Jr. still in the concussion protocol.
They have the extra day.
They have the Monday night game.
He did practice, so that's a good sign.
Yeah.
Yeah, so how – okay, let me get the rankings out right now.
Kyler Murray is 18th for Jamie, 19th for Dave, 14th for Heath.
If Marvin Harrison plays, where would you move Kyler Murray to?
At best is where Heath has him.
Yep, not a top 12 quarterback.
Okay, that would be 14th.
And Malik Neighbors is out of the concussion protocol. He's good to go. Jacoby Myers missed practice
again, so he missed last
week's game and not looking good right now.
Mike Evans missed practice with a
hamstring injury. Anyone concerned about
this one? A little bit.
We know that he left for a spell
last week, and he's not
exactly a burner to begin with, so if
he's got a hamstring injury that slows him down even more,
I think that could really cap his upside and a game where the,
the bucks clearly need them every week.
It's silly to say that,
but if Tampa is not going to be able to run the ball there,
they absolutely need Mike Evans to be at his best.
And it sounds like he's not going to be at his best.
Oh boy.
That's not going to be good for the game of the week.
Dontavian wicks still practicing DJ shark limited in practice for the Chargers. Deontay Johnson missed practice again.
So that stinks. Yeah, that's something to keep an eye on too. If he practices on Friday,
he should be fine for the game. But if he doesn't, then it might be injury. It might be for another
reason. He has been missing Wednesday practices, but I don't think
Thursday practices too often.
He did miss one day of practice earlier
this year because it was raining,
and he just didn't want to practice in the rain. He didn't
want to slip or something like that, and he ended up
playing, and I think he was just fine that week.
Oh, man. He's had one bad
game with Dalton. It's the Bears game where everybody was bad.
Right.
Bears are good against the pass.
Last four games, he's been number 11 per game.
You're starting him if he's
active against the Commanders. It's not even a question.
Yeah, on pace for, I think, 180 targets.
Juju Smith-Schuster was limited with a
hamstring injury. That's a midweek downgrade,
so we're going to keep an eye on that one.
Tyler Lockett, same thing. He missed practice.
We'll keep an eye on that one.
Josh Downs and Michael Pittman practiced, so they're back.
And still no decision.
No decision on Amari Cooper, right?
Not yet.
I'd be surprised if he didn't play.
Yeah, why would they not play him?
And Ricky Pearsall practiced in full, which is interesting for the Niners.
That doesn't mean he's going to play this week.
And Juwan Jennings mispracticed again.
So maybe Ricky Pearsall fills in for Juwan Jennings.
Tight end, we still don't know if TJ Hawkinson is going to play.
He's been limited in practice.
And Dallas Goddard missed practice again.
And on the offensive line, the Patriots are going to be without an offensive tackle.
Tampa Bay Center, Graham Barton practiced.
That was good.
The teams that are pretty beat up on defense would be Houston at Green Bay.
Legereus Sneed missing another practice at Buffalo.
That's a big one.
Another reason to use Amari Cooper.
The biggest ones.
These guys say they expect to play, but they have missed Wednesday and Thursday practice.
Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence for the Giants.
That's enormous.
Things are going great for the Giants lately.
And the Seahawks are getting a little healthier up front,
but really beat up in their secondary
and still Reek Woolen and Trey Brown missing practice.
That's about it.
All right.
One question for each game.
Detroit is at Minnesota.
Start or sit, Jordan Addison and Jamison Williams.
And let me just tell you an interesting note on this game, Detroit at Minnesota. Start or sit, Jordan Addison and Jamison Williams.
And let me just tell you an interesting note on this game, Detroit and Minnesota.
These two teams so far, they see the fewest running back carries per game and the most wide receiver targets per game in the NFL.
So that's been what teams have done against them.
And Detroit is the exact opposite.
They run the ball all the time and don't throw much.
But this looks on paper like a great game for receivers.
But starter sit Addison and or Jamison Williams.
You're going to want to try and find ways to put these guys into your lineup.
Probably more as like number three receivers, flexes, things like like that maybe you ran into the broncos defense
already and you need some upside these are the perfect guys to bring it and i believe adam what
is it that i sent you the vikings and the lions are the number one and two teams in ppr points
per game allowed to wide receivers this year yeah yeah that's yeah this this this is a beautiful
matchup this is a high scoring game This is a game of the week.
You know, I'll make this a joke.
This is Dave's game of the week, yeah.
Sorry, I hit the wrong button.
Come on, Dave.
Oh, yeah, I got a little karaoke there. Oh, you were singing?
Oh, the music drowned you out.
I'm sorry.
I thought you were lip-syncing.
My bad.
All right, Houston at Green Bay.
C.J. Stroud rankings dispute.
Jamie has him 10th.
Heath has him 16th.
He's not here to dispute.
But Dave has him 4th.
So, Jamie, you got him as a low-end number one.
It's a good week for quarterbacks.
You know, I mean, look, you got C.J. Stroud.
You're probably starting him.
I do think Darnold has a higher ceiling.
I also think Baker and Kirk Cousins have higher ceilings. Clearly,
Baker's been great. Mike Evans will
probably sway that based on his injury.
We just haven't seen
top-end CJ
Stroud yet, and still without Nico Collins.
So,
I think 10th is appropriate. That's at least
how I feel. He looked pretty good last
week. I see this game
as a shootout as well and easily him having three,
three touchdowns and plenty of yardage.
I think Stroud and love are going to go back and forth all game long.
They're both top five quarterbacks for me.
Love over Stroud.
Adam Lee says the game of the week theme song sounds like the intro music to a
mid eighties sitcom.
So,
Oh yeah yeah it does
i've told you like in my mind's eye what i see when you do that this sunday on fantasy football
today dave and jamie are at it again and they're at each other's throats tune in at a special 9 a.m
edition of fantasy football today see when the when the theme hits that part with the upbeat music going on
after the dream sequence beginning,
that's where I picture you dancing down the street,
holding a bag of groceries.
It's like Full House.
Yeah, okay.
Everywhere you look.
All right, Seattle and Atlanta.
Who's a better, by this one also, potential game?
Seattle and Atlanta.
Darnell Mooney or JSN?
Who do you like better?
Mooney. I like Mooney better, but I do like or JSN? Who do you like better? Mooney.
I like Mooney better, but I do like both of them.
Yep.
Especially at Lockett's out.
Ooh, yeah.
If Lockett's out, would you still like Mooney better than JSN?
Yes, slightly.
Mooney could have had two touchdowns.
He had the poorly thrown ball by Cousins,
should have walked into the end zone,
but he also had an end zone target.
That was kind of a tougher play, but he did get an end zone target.
Yeah, it was a high ball, but it bounced off his hands.
Carolina at Washington.
Any interest in Andy Dalton?
Not if Deontay Johnson does not play, but I think if you're stuck,
he's not a bad pivot play.
I'd still rather go with either of the quarterbacks in the London game
over Andy Dalton,
but I, I see, I see more upside with him than I do with Patrick Mahomes. Oh my God. I can't
believe I just said that. If Johnson plays, not if, yeah. Oh man. If there's no Deontay Johnson,
then you can kick Andy Dalton with a curb like four other NFL teams have done. But I think that
if he does have Johnson, he's, he's got a great matchup, and I assume that the Carolina Panthers will be trailing,
if not in a competitive game.
He's got potential for a good game.
Yeah, and if there's no Deontay Johnson, even if there is,
Xavier Liggett is 41% rostered.
He's a bit of a sleeper, I guess.
Quick shout-out, by the way, to Jatavian Sanders.
Got to just pay a little bit of attention to this.
He's played 75% and 73% of the snaps in his last two games.
Sanders has, this is Carolina rookie tight end. He has 12 targets in his last two games. He has,
he had six targets in his first four games. All right. Philadelphia is at the giant starter
sit Wandale Robinson. I mean, at this point, he's like an auto start in three receiver leagues.
I think in two receiver leagues, you could still start him as well. He's getting, you know, his,
his buddy back who should draw some coverage in the league neighbors.
And so why would you go away from him against this defense?
Raiders at the Rams.
Can the Raiders offense get going against the Rams?
No.
Without Myers, I think Madison without Zam Zamir White, is a decent sleeper
just because he'll catch the ball, as we saw last week.
And obviously, you're starting Brock Bowers.
But the offense as a whole, no.
That's an interesting question for the one question for each game for that game.
Why?
Because who's using anybody on the Raiders other than Bowers and maybe Madison?
I mean, what tough call is there in this game?
You're going to start.
There are three receivers for the Rams who carry some appeal
that fantasy managers might want to consider starting.
Well, if Cup is out, if Cup is in,
I don't know how many people would be trusting Whittington
or Atwell at this point.
Trusting.
You may be stuck in needing them.
Fair.
But I think if he's out,
then it becomes a definite question of
who do you trust?
Who do you trust?
I think that Kyron can be 10 points better
than Javante Williams was on Thursday.
And Stafford becomes an interesting play
if Cup is back.
Ah.
All right, so fine.
So I'll change the question.
And Parkinson is an interesting play without Cup.
If Cooper Cup doesn't play,
who are you starting in the Rams passing game?
I still like Whittington the best based on what he's done his last two
games.
Atwell has certainly been consistent,
but I don't think he has the same type of production just because his
targets have not been the same as Whittington's.
And then Parkinson's a decent,
you know,
sleeper.
If you need a tight end and PBR,
didn't they both have a bunch of targets last game?
Yeah.
Yeah.
They both targeted everybody in the last two weeks.
Right.
Right.
That's true.
He has two more targets than that.
Well,
I've got Whittington higher too,
but he's like a low end.
Number three receiver at well,
more of a,
like a bi-week flex type of guy.
If there's no Cooper Cup,
I don't mind either of those guys as DFS plays.
Totally.
Yeah, it's kind of weird.
Both these teams, Raiders and Rams,
I feel like they should be worse against the past than they are.
The Rams are 16th against wide receivers.
The Raiders are actually 9th against wide receivers.
That's because everybody runs on them.
Mm-hmm.
Yeah, that's partially true. partially true uh panthers last year they did well against george pickens last week they did
well against the marty cooper those guys had eight targets and not not a lot with it but
all right any more about those guys quarterbacks as opposed to those guys being shut down yeah
yeah okay anyway um let's move on okay so if the Waiver Wire, we're going to do a special edition of FFT Express.
Check that out.
FFT Express.
We're going to do that right after this show.
And if you haven't subscribed to that feed, you can, but we'll get to, you should, we'll
get to Beat the Waiver Wire on FFT Express.
So we get to the games in Detroit at Minnesota.
And all right, starter sit Jared Goff,
who has scored 31.1 or 31.2 fantasy points in two straight games.
Jamie, starter sit Jared Goff.
He's a low-end starter.
You know, like behind Stroud for me, I'd start him ahead of Kyler.
I'd start him ahead of Mahomes.
I think there's an opportunity here for him to continue to do what he's done.
You mentioned how the running backs have been so successful,
but he's still been as productive as he has been in those last two games
because he's been efficient.
And so the thing that you'd be a little bit concerned about
is he's still throwing 23, 25 passes and doesn't get multiple touchdowns.
Then you're going to be in trouble.
But look, this offense is humming right now.
I think it's going to be a shootout based on how these two teams are operating,
especially without Aiden Hutchinson to help the defense on the other side.
So it feels like this is going to be without the interceptions.
You know, Jordan Love said the best game against the Vikings.
It was really a lot of second half production.
I just think Goff is going to have an opportunity here to continue to do what he's done.
Not to 31 points, but probably 20 to 25.
I started the week with him outside of my top 12. And even right now
he's outside of the top 12, but you've got to give him consideration just based on the last two
games. The fact that he was so efficient, almost 300 yards or over 300 yards from one over, over
301, almost 300 and the other multiple touchdowns and 25 or fewer pass attempts in each of those
past two games. The one thing that does hold me back a little bit is that this is a Vikings
defense that blitzes like crazy.
And the one thing we know about Jared Goff is that when he's under pressure,
he's just not as good.
And so will that efficiency still stand up when the Vikings are coming after
him all the time,
it's going to be like a 50% blitz rate.
They're going to come after him.
And so that makes me a little bit
nervous. But if he were taking on his
own defense this week, he'd be top five.
It'd be amazing because he wouldn't be under pressure.
He'd be as efficient as he has been.
Yeah.
Someone actually gave me, this is the first time, I
think, a listener gave me a stat
of the game. And it's from Frank.
Actually, Dave, I got this.
I borrowed this stat from Frank.
He said
Jared Goff is down
5.8 pass attempts
per game from last year.
And if you exclude the game against the
Bucks where he threw 55 times, he's down
12 pass attempts per game for last year.
That could explain the decline of Laporta
and Amon Russ St. Brown. And it is interesting.
Amon Russ St. Brown is not even a top 15 wide receiver per game.
His target share is great.
His yak per catch is super low, which is weird.
That will probably fix itself.
But he had four targets last week.
So no one's going to sit Amon Ross St. Brown.
And no one's going to sit a Lions running back.
They're the best.
Who's been a good first-round pick besides Barkley, Chase, Jefferson?
On a per-game basis, A.J. Brown's been pretty good.
A.J. Brown, yeah.
But he missed a bunch of games.
Doesn't mean McCaffrey, obviously.
Brees Hall and Bijan have not lived up to expectations.
I feel like Brees Hall has actually been pretty good.
He had two terrible games.
Where is he? He's RB6.
Yeah, no, he's been disappointing.
No question, disappointing.
RB14. Tyreek, we know.
CeeDee Lamb, no. Amon Ra, no.
It's been bad.
All right.
Trading my first round pick for 2-2s next year.
For Atwell? It's good. All right. Trading my first round pick for two twos next year.
For Atwell?
That's good.
Why is this not going to be a big game for Jordan Addison?
I like him.
I think, you know, Dave's right.
He's only a number three receiver because it's hard to fit all those guys into 24 spots.
But you've heard me say this a billion times. Like 36 is basically a still number two receiver.
So it's a great opportunity for him. You know, you've only seen one really productive fantasy game, but I do like the fact that in the jets game where they
were having to throw the ball a little bit more because the run game was suspect. He had eight
targets. And so Jefferson's going to get his, the Hawkinson scenario is still at play here.
So keep that in mind. They may activate him, but just given the opportunity to play against this defense right now,
I think Jordan Addison has got a chance to help your fantasy team.
So this is a good week to be excited about it.
I mean,
the one thing that holds me back on Addison is that he's made two good
plays all year.
And one of them was rushing.
He's also been hurt for,
you know,
a couple of games,
no doubt one came back rusty game.
That's the game. He actually scored twice, but didn't have a lot of opportunities. No doubt. One came back, rusty game. That's the game he actually scored twice,
but didn't have a lot of opportunities.
You know, if there's no, I'm sorry, James,
if there's no Aaron Jones, I'll like him more.
Because they'll have to throw more.
Okay.
And Jamison Williams, Addison or Williams for you guys?
Williams, but it's, you know,
more based on what his upside is,
as opposed to, you know, Addison's going to get more
targets. It's just been somewhat lucky that you're getting the games from Williams that you are,
but he's only had one bad game this season. So his big play potential is always there.
And I think just in a game where they could actually be chasing points, that's going to
allow Jared Goff to throw some more. So if you believe in the Lions passing game,
which, you know, it's hard to say they're bad,
I think you're going to get another opportunity here
for Jamison to come up big
and maybe we see, you know, seven, eight targets,
which would be fantastic.
They're going to win this game, by the way.
So just the other side of Dave's point,
which is accurate,
that they're going to send a lot of people at Jared Goff
that lends to a lot of one-on-one coverage. It lends to a lot of, you know, if Goff, you know,
reads the blitz correctly, you know, some open plays. And if they leave that guy open in any
stretch, good luck. Guess who are the two top quarterbacks in the NFL in yards per attempt
when blitzed? Darnold and Goff.
Correct.
Goff is averaging 13.3 yards per attempt,
completing 73% of his passes when blitzed.
Wow.
Yeah, he's a better quarterback now than he used to be.
He's amazing.
And Darnold is almost as good, 13.2 yards per attempt,
70% completion rate.
When they're blitzed or when they're pressured,
what was that set?
Blitzed.
Okay. Yeah. Okay.
Keep in mind,
those will include numbers where
a team blitzes, but the offensive
line protects golf. Yeah, well, that's part of it.
He might not be under
pressure. I can look it up
if you don't want to do it. I can look and see
how he does just under any type of
pressure. Yeah, that's fine, but
he still benefits from having a good offensive line, right?
That they're going to—
Oh, for sure.
Running backs, I can pass protect.
All right.
So then the big thing here is Aaron Jones and Ty Chandler, right?
Because there's going to be a lot of starts in this game.
Well, actually, before we get to that, let's just do Sam Laporta.
Jamie, where do you have Sam Laporta?
Still a top-12 tight end.
You know, you've seen some better signs the last couple of games.
The thing that was disappointing last week was he did have the big touchdown, but it
was only target.
So you want to see more involvement.
I think that will happen this week.
So I'm certainly not benching him unless I have somebody better.
Uh, you can make a case for Tucker craft.
You know, if you, if you picked him up along the way, just because as Dave said, I think
he's right.
There's going to be a shootout between the Texans and the Packers, although it's a brutal matchup for Craft.
The Texans have been really good against tight ends.
Kyle Pitts, I like better this week just because of the injuries for Seattle.
But Laporta's still right there.
It's hard to say he's an auto-sit or a guy you must sit.
I agree.
I've got the numbers on Goff.
When he's pressured, it's only been on 52 dropbacks, 25 of 39. That's 64% completion rate, 8.4 yards per attempt on an eight out of 8.2 yards. That's one and a half more yards than when he's not pressured. Um, higher interception rate. Um, it's pretty good though. Lower off target rate. It's about the same. His quarterback rating is much lower, but this is, you're right.
I'm, this is a better guy.
I'm going to move golf up.
This is a better golf than what we've seen in the past.
Cause in the past, when he's been under pressure, I mean, he goes into the fetal position.
It was terrible.
Now it's not as much.
So this is, it's going to be a tough nut to crack for the Vikings pass rush, just as much
as it's going to be for the lions offensive line.
Golf should be a top 12
quarterback. And you know what? I'm sorry. I've shortchanged because we haven't talked about
Darnold. And that is the big difference, I think, between Goff and Darnold. Goff has the third best
yards per attempt when pressured. Darnold is great with a clean pocket. Great. He stinks when he's
pressured this year. His yards per attempt is 4.7
yards per attempt when pressured,
whereas Goff is at 8.4.
Huge difference. Now,
if Aiden Hutchinson were playing, it would be more
concerning. So, you guys
are pretty high on Sam Darnold.
Where do you have Darnold?
I like him better than Stroud.
Wow. Obviously,
I like Stroud top five. Darnold is 10th for me. I like him better than Goff. I like him better than Stroud. Wow. Obviously, I like Stroud top five.
Darnold is 10th for me.
I like him better than Goff.
I like him better than Mahomes.
I like him better than Kyler.
I like him better than Drake May.
Yeah.
Well, Drake May could be good.
All right.
I mean, I'm being silly about it, but yeah.
It's not that silly. Yeah, Darnold's 9th or 10th for you guys.
Okay. All right. Now, Jamie, let's talk about aaron jones and ty chandler i think if jones plays he's at least a number two running back you know he's not going to be at 100 but still the
upside there is is always on the table it's a brutal matchup the lions have been really good
against running backs and hutchinson's absence will certainly be felt but i don't think it's
enough to say okay they're not easy to run on.
So,
you know, Jones will be involved in the passing game if he's healthy,
but it just feels like there,
you know,
I know Kevin O'Connell said the,
the trade for cam acres wasn't about Jones's availability or long-term
health.
It was more about depth,
but still why make that move right after you have a significant injury to
the player at that position.
And we know what's been the history for Jones.
Even last year,
you go back to it.
He came back, I think, from the first injury he had,
whether it was his ankle or his hamstring,
and then he got hurt again.
I wouldn't fully trust Aaron Jones unless you're stuck.
And I don't really love Ty Chandler. I mean, you know, he's been more of a pedestrian backup for a reason.
He had some good moments last season in some favorable matchups
when he got a lot of volume.
I don't know if we'll get that volume now that Cam Akers is there. Remember, this isn't a guy walking off the street that doesn't know the team. He was with the team last year,
you know, before he got the Achilles injury. So he was also with O'Connell with the Rams.
So they, they know what he's capable of doing and he's done Ty Chandler like things, you know,
been a pedestrian running back in his time in Houston. So, uh, it just feels like a scenario you want to avoid if Jones is not there.
Cool.
All right.
And that's,
I think that's it for this game.
If TJ Hawkinson plays,
would you start him?
Right.
I thought that was it for that game.
Yeah,
no,
it wasn't.
I thought so too,
but it wasn't.
Would you start Hawkinson if he plays?
Yes.
He would be a low end.
Number one,
he would be in that,
um,
Hunter Henry,
Dalton Schultz,
Mark Andrews range of somewhere between 10 and 14.
And that is it for this game.
And now we're going to take a break.
What about Will Reichard?
Houston at Green Bay when we come back on Fantasy Football today.
Welcome back.
Houston at Green Bay.
So we had a C. a CJ Stroud rankings dispute
Dave has him 4th, Jamie has him 10th
and Heath 16th
if you want to hear it, go to the one question for each game
but you can start CJ Stroud
there were some questions that I missed from the last
game so I apologize for that
I'll just read them real quick, Darnold or Purdy
I thought we were done with that game
Darnold, Sam
Darnold or Cousins?
Cousins.
Cousins.
All right.
Then Darnold or Stroud?
I think you already answered that, but I'll do it again.
Darnold or Stroud?
Darnold.
Okay.
Stroud for Dave, Darnold for Jamie.
Start Joe Mixon.
Start Stefan Diggs.
He has scored 14.2 or more PPR fantasy points in all but one game.
He has scored 18.5 or more in all but two games.
He has been phenomenal start or sit tank Dell,
Dave Richard.
I think he's the number three receiver,
maybe even a borderline number two and non PPR love the volume,
love the activity last week.
The short area touchdown was really nice.
And this was the dude who was on the same page with Stroud when push came to shove in games last year before he
got hurt. Not to say that Nico wasn't either, but this is who Stroud leaned on a lot. And now he's
just getting an opportunity to play with Collins out. So I think that Dell is absolutely in the
range of start receiver, number two receiver.
Dell, is he ahead of Jamison Williams and Jordan Madison?
Yes.
Okay.
Would you start Tank Dell or Chase Brown?
No.
I think I've got Dell ahead of Brown.
There's somebody I was thinking of. I think I've got Dell ahead of Brown. There's somebody I was thinking of.
I do.
Because Tank Dell is basically,
he's almost a must start based on last week.
But I think a lot of people were writing him off
before last week.
I understand.
Even with the Nico injury,
I don't think the expectations were super high
going into last week.
I do feel like he's changed people's minds
with a big game,
which is fair.
I mean, you need to see it, right?
He hadn't done anything.
Well, I mean, look, opportunity presented itself when he stepped up.
Targets were there, season-high targets.
And so the touchdown was great.
It was a beautiful catch and a great throw from Stroud.
It was not the type of yards you want to see for Tank, though,
because he's typically been more explosive when he's had his big games.
But still, when you're getting those chances and performing and you know those chances will be
there again why wouldn't you start him he hasn't had a big play yet this year like his longest
catch on the year so far is 23 yards that's crazy i feel like this could be the game where he can
have one of those massive plays you know what i feel like? I feel like next July or sometime in the offseason,
Tankdale is going to say,
yeah, you know,
I broke my leg.
I wasn't really 100% last year.
No, it'll be week 11,
like Tony Pollard.
Yeah, right, exactly.
It's like everything,
I have no idea.
Maybe he is 100%.
Everything was like,
oh, he's totally fine.
He's completely back to normal.
Maybe he's not because that's what they said about Tony Pollard in the preseason
and then revealed, nope, he's actually not back to it.
But, yeah, you see what I'm saying.
Okay.
I have a feeling by next July we're ranking Tank Dell as a top 15 receiver.
Ooh.
Yeah.
If no digs, you're saying.
Start or sit, Dalton Schultz, who had eight targets last week,
six targets the week before that three
straight games though with pretty bad production despite having six to eight targets in two straight
games anyway second most fancy points allowed to tight ends that's Green Bay so starters at
Dalton Schultz it's a great replacement option if you're stuck you know the the Ferguson and
commit managers that need a bi-week replacement he was available in about 50 percent of leagues
so you know you're banking on on targets and the chance for him to take advantage of this matchup so
if the game is going to be a shootout i think we all expect that there's going to be probably the
chance for six to eight targets again for dalton schultz and hopefully he delivers this time so
it's not a slam dunk because we've seen it before he had a game without tank dell and he got six
plus targets i think it was six targets exactly and he struggled he had eight targets last week without nico collins and he struggled
so in this case kenny's question schultz or no joku i was starting to joke oh interesting dave
schultz or no joku i have no joku over schultz i i would start hunter henry over schultz i would
start k dot and over schultz where i might get a little tricky is like noah fant versus schultz because Fant's going to be in a shootout too and if there's no Tyler Lockett I
like it better for him but once you get to like Ertz, Fryermuth, Colby Parkinson, Johnnie Smith
they all kind of look the same who do you think can score and I would hope that Schultz is ready
to finally score and the volume as far as targets goes is nice, but he could leave you hanging. But he's in that range for me.
He's like no better than top 15 among tight ends.
You guys have Jordan Love as a top four quarterback, so start him.
He has the second worst completion rate in football
ahead of only Jacoby Brissett,
yet he has the fifth lowest off-target rate.
Jordan Love has the seventh highest drop rate so far.
And he's just been really good. So start him.
And Houston is beat up defensively.
Like I said earlier, they are beat up defensively.
Jimmy Ward is out. Their rookie
cornerback, Lassiter, is out.
And they give up the eighth most fantasy
points quarterback. Start Josh Jacobs.
When we look at all
these replacement running backs
from all that injury segment
that we did earlier,
is there anyone that you would start
ahead of Josh Jacobs?
No, I don't think so.
OK, Joe Mixon or
Hubbard still an injury
replacement, right?
No, Joe Mixon or Josh Jacobs?
Mixon.
OK, Jaden Reed, a must start.
Easy guy.
Easy start.
Yep.
Yes. And let's get into the fun ones here. Romeo Dobbs and Christian Watson start. Easy guy. Easy start. Yep. Yes.
And let's get into the fun ones here. Romeo Dobbs and Christian Watson.
We've talked about Addison, Jamison Williams,
who was the guy from the last game that we talked about tank Dell. No,
was it tank Dell? That's from this game. Oh,
this is only the second game we've done. Okay. Yeah.
Where's a Christian Watson and Romeo Dobbs compared to those guys behind them.
But Watson's still in the injury report.
If for some reason he's out and
wicks is out then dobbs would be certainly in the same conversation with them but these are more low
and number three receivers that i think you should have the have the ability to use if you need them
because of what we saw last week you know there's there's still volume concerns for these guys
because they haven't been getting a lot of targets, but there's also a lot of touchdown potential.
I've seen it happen for Dobbs last year,
happened last week with two scores happened for Watson last week with
touchdown.
So I think when we get red zone touches,
red zone targets,
Dobbs is going to have those chances because that's where Jordan love seems
to go.
And then big play potential.
That's where Christian Watson tends to step up.
I have Christian Watson in like five leagues.
You want to hear my,
some decisions.
Sure. Sure. All right. Watson versus to hear my, some decisions? Sure.
Sure.
All right.
Watson versus Jamison Williams already answered that.
I'm starting Watson.
I'm starting Jamison,
Jamison.
I've got Watson one spot ahead of James.
Oh,
I'm sorry.
That'll change.
If Dontavion Wicks is active,
but I,
not that I expect Dontavion Wicks to take Watson off the field,
but I,
on the year,
I just happen to have this open in front of me.
He's got a 41.7% route rate.
So he's not a full-time player for Green Bay.
But like Jamie said, the dude is a touchdown magnet.
So is Williams.
I would take Williams.
Watson or Juju Smith-Schuster?
Juju.
I have Juju.
I'm assuming that he's playing playing football he popped up on the injury
report on thursday watson or amari cooper cooper i have cooper ahead of watson especially if sneeds
out watson or brandon aubrey no he's on my bench this week ramondre stevenson or watson
uh stevenson plays i play against Jackson agreed okay
I just by the way saw for the first time
I played against Javante Williams in at least three leagues
last night so now I'm in a really crappy mood
so Romeo
Dobbs
I mean double digit PBR points
for Dobbs
sure he averaged 10 per game last year
stop me if
you've heard this before.
He led the Packers in route rate last week.
Yeah, he's always out there.
He plays a ton and just doesn't get crazy volume compared to other receivers.
I'll put it this way. Reed gets more targets.
Christian Watson gets about the same amount of targets,
but they're valuable targets. They're end zone targets.
One of Dobbs' touchdowns last week was pretty fluky.
He's very difficult for me to trust.
Watson or Wandale
from the chat?
Wandale, PPR.
In PPR, it's Wandale
by a mile.
Watson or Christian Kirk?
Watson.
CWOT.
Jamie, you mentioned Tucker Craft with a tough matchup here.
The Texans give up the third fewest points to tight ends.
Good against Komet.
Good against Kincaid.
Gave up a touchdown to Henry last week.
And only five targets, no, four targets last week.
Five targets the week before for Kraft.
So do you trust him?
It really comes down to who you have.
So if he's been someone you picked up
to pair with Ingram during his injury,
you pivot back to Ingram.
If he's been somebody you picked up
with the struggles of Andrews,
I would stick with Kraft over Andrews.
I would start Pitts and Laporta.
Laporta's tougher. Pitts, I would start Pitts and Laporta. Laporta's tougher.
Pitts, I would start over him.
I'm hoping, look,
he's a little banged up right now, so that's something to keep an eye on.
He's been on the injury report.
I hope everything's okay. And then clearly, you've got to keep an eye
on the injuries for the Packers. If Reed's
ankle's bothering him, if Wicks is still dealing with
the shoulder injury, if Watson's got the ankle problem,
then it should help Kraft.
Dobbs was number one last week in route rate. Tucker Kraft was number two. That's on the Packers. If Watson's got the ankle problem, then it should help craft. Dobbs was number one last week in route rate.
Tucker craft was number two.
That's on the Packers.
83% of the time he was running a route.
Interesting.
All right.
Watson or Trey sermon from,
from the chat.
Watson.
Agreed.
Read or Malik neighbors.
Neighbors.
Won't you be my craft Kraft or Hawkinson?
Kraft.
Yes.
Dave, what should I have for dinner tonight?
You should have a Fiesta-size sausage pepperoni pizza done crisp
from the Aurelios in Homewood, Illinois.
All right.
Seattle's at Atlanta.
Stat of the game number one.
The Seahawks have allowed
255 yards, multiple touchdowns and 25 or more fantasy points to three straight quarterbacks,
Jared Goff, Daniel Jones, and Brock Purdy. And that was on 18, 34 and 28 pass attempts. Jamie,
you have him as your start of the week. Who are you starting Kirk Cousins over? C.J. Stroud, Patrick Mahomes, Kyler Murray, Goff, Geno Smith,
who I think still leads the NFL in passing yards.
He does.
So, look, he's clearly had the one huge game.
He's had one other game over 20 fantasy points.
He's coming off a game where he only had 14.5 fantasy points
against the Panthers, so he did not take advantage of a great matchup.
But I think this is one of those opportunities where you're looking at
what Seattle's allowed the last three weeks with the injuries
that they have in their secondary.
The chance for Cousins to be a superstar once again is on the table.
So love the setup for him.
Stat of the game number two.
Look, I know you're going to start Bijan Robinson,
who we started in almost every league,
but they're getting Byron Murphy back on the front for Seattle.
They allow 3.8 yards per carry to running backs with Murphy on the field
and 5.7 with him off the field.
And some of that is like he and Leonard Williams both missed time at the same time.
So it sucks. It's like you look at this matchup on paper, it looks like an amazing matchup for the same time. So it sucks.
It's like you look at this matchup on paper,
it looks like an amazing matchup for Bijan Robinson.
Maybe it still is.
But if he does struggle, maybe it wasn't such a good matchup.
Anyway, Bijan, yes.
We'll just stick with the Falcons here.
Drake London is an easy one.
Kyle Pitts at this point I feel like is going to be started in most leagues.
Kyle Pitts or David Njoku?
Pitts.
Pitts. Pitts.
And then, yeah, let's talk about Mooney here.
He's in the top 24.
He's got three games with 8.6 or fewer fantasy points,
and he's got games of 17.8, 14.6, and 31.5 fantasy points.
I waxed poetic about him last week, and he did not come through,
although I think Cousins was partially to blame for that.
But, yeah, we're feeling –
obviously, if you think Kirk Cousins is the start of the week,
you've got to feel pretty good about Mooney.
Feel good about all three of the guys.
I mean, you know, clearly Drake London's been awesome.
Mooney's had one down game in his last four.
You've got to really just trust that the rapport that he has with Cousins is there.
He's not going to get 16 targets unless just Cousins goes nuts,
like we saw in the Tampa Bay game. but i think if he catches the touchdown last week
nobody's blinking an eye about darnell mooney and just keeping him in your lineup across the board
the uh the setup for pits is is pretty good you know you look at what tight ends have started to
do against the seahawks a lot of that is injury related which these guys are still banged up
and when's the last time we said kyle Pitts had back-to-back games with 10 plus
PPR points, which is what he's coming
off of going into this game. Crazy.
College? No, just kidding.
It doesn't happen very often.
He had three catches for 70 yards.
The problem, his target share
is bad. He has
not had a target share above 18.5%
in any game this year.
He's had a couple of chunk plays lately, 59 or more yards in three of his last four games. But Pitts, it's just, he's, it's Mooney.
Mooney is the number two guy. Pitts, again, repeat that stat, has not had a target share above 18.5%
all year. That is really concerning. And so what's been pushing up his numbers lately have been big plays,
right? 32 yard catch against Tampa. Uh, went for like 50 at Carolina. So he's starting to
do something that we really haven't seen from him in a long time. Yeah. And that's make big
time explosive plays. If he can do anything to add to his target share, then he'll end up being
one of the best tight ends in fantasy.
We just, I, this is something I didn't anticipate with Fitz is that he would make
these explosive plays. It's been one a game, three of his last four games. The other thing
that I'll tell you about this game is that I'm not convinced that the Falcons defense is very good.
They've got names on their D line and edge, but they can't get to the quarterback. I think they're
last in sacks this year. I think they only have five sacks and Gino not only leads the league in
passing yards, he leads the league in attempts per game.
So there, there's a real chance that Seattle kind of forces the issue.
And I think push comes to shove.
I think the Falcons kind of like leaning on, on Kirk cousins.
And so Kirk to me is an easy must start type of fantasy quarterback.
Um, had a hard time keeping them out of my top five. He's six. I'm starting them over Burrow Baker, Jalen hurts
and all the other kind of fringish guys that we talked about. Wow. Wow. I just going into last
week, Kirk Cousins had negative two rushing yards. He has one game this year where he's been credited with a scramble.
So he's just, that's just a funny thing to say.
He's just at a disadvantage when you compare him to quarterbacks who run.
So starting him over Hurts to me is like bonkers, but it could happen.
You would only do that in six points.
What'd you say?
Okay, sorry, sorry.
It's a Saquon game for Philly.
No, he's not going to do anything.
Just kidding.
Ken Walker, start him.
Geno Smith, the low-end starter.
DK Metcalf.
Lead-wide receivers have crushed Atlanta.
So DK Metcalf is someone that you're going to start.
All right, so let's finish with JSN and Tyler Lockett.
How about this?
Tyler Lockett has had 61 or more yards in four of six games.
He did that six times last year.
How many times has JSN had 61 or more yards once?
And it was in week two.
Week two in the overtime game, he had a bunch of targets.
He did it before overtime, though.
Yeah, I know, but he had 16 targets that game.
But you guys consistently rank him ahead of Lockett.
Why?
I think his points per game have been better when he's been better, right?
Like when both of them have been at their best.
And he gets more targets and more catches,
so I wouldn't be surprised if he's just averaging more points per game.
I think he's coming off like two of his last three
with at least 13 PPR points, right?
Three of his last four.
Yeah, so there's a reason for that.
Yeah, but right at 13, 13.1 in two straight games.
Yeah, he's kind of like a Wandale.
You can make the case that if Atlanta can't put pressure on Geno,
he'll have more time to look downfield,
and that would help lockett and hurt JSN.
Jamie, you were right.
It's two of his last three and three of his last five.
He had 10.3 fantasy points on nine targets last week.
Don't disrespect Wondell.
Wondell's better.
And the only reason why JSN has more targets than Lockett on the year
is because he had that 16-target game against New England.
You guys would start Wondell over JSN?
Yeah. In PPR, yeah. I think we're done with this game. New England. You guys would start Wandale over JSN? Yeah.
In PPR, yeah.
I think we're done with this game.
Noah Fant, you guys have as a sit,
although the Seahawks, forget it, never mind.
I mean, the Falcons.
He's got six catches in two of his last four games.
He's just so inconsistent.
All right, moving on to Carolina at Washington.
Oh, sorry.
Updated stat of the game.
The Commanders have allowed 75 yards or a touchdown and now 37 wide receivers in their last 23 games,
but only two wide receivers in their last three games.
So we're going to keep an eye on that.
New stats of the game.
Since Andy Dalton took over, Chuba Hubbard is RB6 per game.
He is on pace for 2,074 total yards, 76 catches, and 12 touchdowns.
And since Andy Dalton took over, Deontay Johnson is wide receiver 11 per game,
and he's on pace for 183 targets.
Would you trade today, even if you need him, Chuba Hubbard for Tyreek Hill.
Yeah.
Yeah. Have to, right?
Yeah.
But boy, he's going to be good this game.
Of course.
That's the risky. And this isn't a
personal thing. I was just thinking, which receiver
who's got a chance to be amazing,
which we know Tyreek can if Tua's back.
And you know that no matter what happens with Jonathan Brooks,
he's going to get work in a much different level than Miles Sanders
and take production away from Chuba Hubbard.
Are we sure about that?
That he's not going to take production away from Chuba Hubbard?
That he's going to get much more work than Miles Sanders.
If they activate him and don't do that,
then why are they activating?
Well,
sure.
There's that,
but Carolina doesn't have much going for themselves right now.
So if,
if they've got a player who's good and he's performing every week,
how do they take him off the field?
Anytime between now and week 17,
he's not coming off the field,
but he's going to lose work to Jonathan Brooks.
If he's active. So he'll be on the field while Jonathan Brooks is playing. He's not coming off the field, but he's going to lose work to Jonathan Brooks if he's active.
So he'll be on the field while Jonathan Brooks is playing.
He might.
That would be cool.
That's fair.
That could happen.
So like what,
how many touches per game?
Let's say it's two weeks after Jonathan Brooks is back.
Okay.
So Brooks is in the swing of things kind of learning his role.
How many touches per game for Chuba?
I would say,
what is he averaging now?
22?
Yeah.
Would you go to 15?
Yes.
That's still a really good
fantasy running back.
Oh, he's not going to be terrible.
And he'll still have
a lot of high value touches
because they're going to trust him
in those roles.
In that role.
Those roles.
What the hell am I saying?
I think Chuba's going to be good.
All right, we're going to go through this game pretty quickly here. You ready? Dalton is a, you know,
desperation option. Chuba is a must start. Uh, Dante Johnson is a must start. If he plays,
what about Xavier league? It he's, he's in that, you know, borderline number three,
better off number four receiver range, know unfortunately touchdown dependent he had the one big game the first game after uh dalton started with 10 targets
six catches six or i don't know that's first game dalton started the first game adam thielen got
hurt yeah um 10 cat 10 targets six catches 66 yards in a touchdown then he hurts his shoulder
comes back the next week scores a touchdown doesn't have a lot of targets. So is he going to be closer to that first performance?
It's hard to say, but if Deontay Johnson's out,
then he's close to a must-start receiver in three receiver leagues.
And Ian wants to know, league it or JSN?
JSN.
JSN.
But if Deontay's out, what would your answer be?
Then I'd probably move to league it.
All right. I'd probably still go JSN, but it's closeay's out, what would your answer be? Then I'd probably move to Liget. All right.
I'd probably still go JSN, but it's close.
Team name Tuesday and Friday.
Liget to Beaver.
Nice.
Love it or Liget?
Nice.
Adam, I think you should just Liget alone.
Okay.
A Liget of their own.
Dave, thank you.
Jatavian Sanders, I said just keep an eye on him.
He's 3% roster.
He's getting more involved.
Stashable is a potential bi-week tight end down the line.
Although, if you need him this week,
this is a pretty good matchup to have a bi-week tight end.
All right.
Start Jaden Daniels.
I'm in Denver.
Let's talk about Terry McLaurin.
Not even to ask, right?
Start him.
Don't even need to ask.
Okay.
And let's talk about the running backs then.
Dave, your thoughts on
Brian Robinson and Austin Eckler it looks like Robinson's gonna play we've known him to be the
lead back for Washington this is an amazing matchup for him fully expect him to see 15 plus touches
including a couple catches in there he's a top 15 ish type of fantasy running back and if the
game script goes like I think it will, we'll see
Eckler get a chance to put up
maybe 10 PPR points.
Okay.
And yeah, Liget
my ego from Rob.
That doesn't work.
But Liget of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
That was good. That does work.
Good job to no thank you in the chat.
And Zach Ertz, any interest in Zach Ertz? I mean, look, he's got 13 targets in his last That was good. Schultz to me is much better than Ertz at this point. Otten would be better than him if there is no Mike Evans at this
point. Otherwise, I would start
Ertz over Otten, and I would start Schultz over
Ertz. I think Pitts is the only
tight end to have a decent
game against Carolina this year.
Alright, when we come back,
we'll talk about the Giants-Eagles
and the Rams and
Raiders, and
kind of a quirky note about the slate that we've talked about so far.
All right, we'll be right back on FFT.
So we've talked about Detroit, Minnesota, Houston, Green Bay,
Seattle, Atlanta, and Carolina, Washington.
And in those four games, I don't think there's a single DST we like.
Hmm.
All the DSTs that we like are on Thursday's show, it seems.
All right.
With that said, let's go to Philadelphia at the Giants.
The Commander's defense would be very interesting if no Deontay Johnson.
Yeah.
Stat of the game number one.
Good enough even then.
Stat of the game number one.
Saquon Barkley had 18 carries for 145 yards,
two touchdowns and six catches for 35 yards and a touchdown at the Giants in
week seven for 42 fantasy points.
This is a looking into the future.
Stat of the game.
Can you imagine if there's no Lawrence,
what he's going to do?
No.
Oh man.
Stat of the game.
Number two.
Jalen Hurts has completed only four passes
of 20 or more air yards,
but three of them were to A.J. Brown,
and Brown has played in two games.
So if you're sitting there, you're like, what's wrong
with Jalen Hurts? I can give you some stats,
but I really think
he's just going to be so much better
with A.J. Brown. That being said, Eagles
offense just has not looked great this year. That being said, Eagles offense just hasn't,
has not looked great this year.
Even last week they were getting booed because it was all a lot of late production.
They were getting booed.
They were just terrible at home against the Browns.
The Giants defense for some reason is really good lately.
Good lately.
So anyways,
it's like a smash game for the Eagles.
Just huge games for Hertz,
Barkley,
Brown,
Smith.
I hope so.
I really hope so.
And look, Smith benefits because Goddard's most likely going to be out.
So you know that there's always the potential upside for him.
A.J. Brown's just an easy start.
There's no way around it.
Barkley should be awesome.
You know, this was the game you drafted Saquon Barkley for, right?
You know, to face his former team.
Well, one of them.
Yeah.
So there's a lot to love about all of this.
And the one question mark, and it's frustrating,
is Jalen Hurts going to be awesome?
Because he could still get his one touchdown
to one of the receivers,
and the other guy has a 7 for 80 type of game,
and he's still awesome.
And you're just being a little bit,
you know, left with why didn't Jalen get more? And that's, I think where we've kind of been at
with him, right? Because we've seen these guys. It's almost like what we talk about Mahomes,
right? Mahomes gets the one score and the receivers have been good sometimes.
And we're just left with, okay, you know, they're getting what they need out of their
quarterback, but we're not getting what we need for fantasy.
So this should be one of those games, though,
for Hertz.
It just feels like there's a huge,
huge game coming, and why
wouldn't it be against the Giants?
I agree for the most part.
The one thing that would have held me
back is if the Giants' defense
were healthy and the Eagles.
I mean, there's no Jordan Mailato.
We shouldn't overlook that.
Yeah, that's the left tackle for Philadelphia.
And the offensive line has been okay for Philly this year.
If they were healthy, I would be a little bit more nervous about everybody not named Saquon.
There's a chance they won't have any of their big guys up front.
We know there's no Thibodeau.
Brian Burns hasn't practiced.
Dexter Lawrence might not play.
Wow.
That could really make things a heck of a lot easier for Philly.
Oh, yeah.
To do kind of like what Jamie laid out.
Big catcher, too, for A.J. Brown.
Moderate yardage and volume for Devontae.
And then you see Saquon kind of take over.
I think Saquon's taken over either way.
But you know,
we've talked about like,
like tank Dell has been the best kind of fringy wide receiver we've
talked about.
I'm would definitely start Devontae Smith over tank Dell.
Would you?
Yes.
Okay,
good.
Cause so we're on the same page.
Like as long as Dallas got her is out,
which looks like he will be,
you're starting him.
Would you start Devontae Smith over Tyreek Hill?
Yes. Yes.
Yes.
Okay.
Imagine saying that.
All right, so the Eagles are pretty easy.
But the Giants have the best pass rush, arguably, in the NFL.
They lead the NFL in sacks,
and the Eagles have given up a lot of pressure this year.
So if anything derails them, it would be that.
How much does that factor in the game Lane Johnson missed?
I don't know. I just know that
their pressure rate... Did that number spike
with that game? Probably not enough to make it
where they're one of the worst in pressure rate
allowed so far this year. If you want
me to look it up, I'll look it up. Yeah, sure.
It makes some sense. I mean, look, they've had often...
Johnson's missed a game and a half, and
left tackle's been an issue. New center. I mean, there's
a lot of things that have changed for him. Yeah, and now they're not going to have their left tackle.
But the Giants, if you're wondering, how are they doing this defensively the last four games?
Teams are averaging 24 minutes and 44 seconds of possession against the Giants in the last four weeks of the season, the most recent four weeks.
That is the lowest mark against any team in the NFL.
I don't know how they're doing it, but they're just keeping the ball and keeping it away from other teams. All right. On the giant side,
don't start Daniel Jones. Yes. Start Malik neighbors. You guys are pretty high on Wanda
Robinson, especially in PPR. He's like a borderline number two receiver and don't start
Theo Johnson, but the giants running backs, Jamie, how do you see this playing out with
Devin Singletary getting limited practices in? If Singletary plays, I would try to avoid both
flex options at best, just because I'd like to see how this all plays out. If there is no
Singletary, then Tyrone Tracy is a top 20 running back. I mean, you know, he's been productive in
the last two weeks. You saw him step up in the passing game last week, which was fun to see because of what his upside is as a
former receiver. So knowing that there's going to be an offensive line issue for the giants,
it's going to hurt the running backs running the ball without Andrew Thomas there. I do think that
will lead to Daniel Jones dumping the ball off a little bit more. So the guys combined will hopefully be involved in the passing game. If there's only one being
Tracy, then I think he's got a chance to, you know, be five plus catches.
Giants should want to leave Devin Singletary on the bench, let him get healthy and let Tyrone
Tracy continue to show what he's doing because he's in two weeks, he's had over a hundred total
yards in two very different ways. So I like what I've seen from Tracy.
Wish he were a little bit more patient as a runner, but man, he's got some upside.
Okay, without Lane Johnson, the Eagles have a 50% pass rush pressure rate allowed.
One out of every two dropbacks, Jalen Hurts is feeling pressure.
Wow.
With him, it's 40%, which is still really high.
Right.
But obviously, it's better. Yeah, but now they're not going to which is still really high. Right. But obviously, it's better.
Yeah, but now they're not going to have Maialata.
Right.
So the last thing I'm going to look up is how have they done.
It's going to be a tiny sample size, and the number might not be significant enough.
Honestly, look, it doesn't really matter because you're starting all these guys anyway.
Let's just see what happens.
And we don't even know if Brian Burns and Dexter Lawrence are going to play.
Tyrone Tracy, by the way.
Yeah, forget it.
Oh, gosh. All so so hold on it's a i don't know how many plays this was but 60 percent pass rush pressure rate without mailata with lane
johnson questions from the chat wandale or amari cooper wandale uh yeah i agree uh hn or neighbors
holy single how are you sitting one of those guys oh my goodness single terrier naji harris Yeah, I agree. A-Chan or Neighbors? Neighbors.
Singletary. How are you sitting one of those guys, though?
My goodness.
Singletary or Najee Harris?
I would go Najee.
I'm not expecting Singletary to play.
I think if Singletary plays, I think I'd still go Najee.
Oh, for sure.
But I don't like Najee this week.
I don't like it.
And guess what?
Jamie has the Eagles 7th.
Eagles DST.
Dave has him 14th. And Heath has him 7th as well. Ra don't like it. And guess what? Jamie has the Eagles seventh. Eagles DST. Dave has him 14th.
And Heath has him seventh as well.
Raiders at the Rams, our last game here.
Stat of the game.
The Rams have allowed 73 or more rushing yards
to five running backs and six rushing touchdowns
in five games. It's the Rams.
The Rams. Can I summarize this one?
Yeah. Start all Kyron.
Sit all Raiders and Rams.
You're saying Bowers? Oh, no. Kyron Bowers? I would never sit Kyron Bowers. Kyron sit all Raiders and Rams you're saying Bowers oh no Kyron Bowers I would
never say Kyron Bowers Kyron Bowers is awesome no but seriously Atwell and Whittington if cup does
not play have been very reliable I mean sure low low double digit PPR fantasy points so yeah you
can you can go to them but and you got to keep an eye on Whittington's injury, too.
That changes things for everybody.
Imagine if there's no Cup or no Whittington,
then Atwell's got a chance to hopefully be a safe number three receiver.
And even Demarcus Robinson comes back into play,
who's been very disappointing since the Cup Nakua injuries.
Based on how he finished last year, he scored a touchdown in his last game.
But the targets, the production, has just not been there consistently for him.
And then Colby Parkinson becomes, you know, a borderline starter based on what we saw against
the Packers. You know, he was heavily targeted in that game too. I think it was backwards, right?
Yeah. Um, and listen, if Zamir white doesn't play, you gotta at least consider Alexander
Madison, right? Oh, he's, he's a definite flex option for you. And if you're stuck, a number two running back.
His production has been somewhat fluky,
how he's gotten it over the course of the season.
But at least in the last two games without Zemir White,
the touches have been there.
The nice thing was last game, there was no Devontae Adams.
There was no Jacoby Myers.
He had five catches.
And I think that's something that you can sort of hang your hat on
based on how Aiden O'Connell will play.
So he's going to be involved in the passing game to whatever extent.
So yes, he's got a chance to be very good in this matchup.
How good? That depends on the team's course.
How much will you lower Alexander Madison if Zemir White does play?
A little bit, but I don't really think Zemir White is that much of a factor at this point.
He'll get carries, but Madison, I think, will still be involved in the passing game.
So he'll drop a few spots, but it's not like it's
a runaway from Madison just because
Zemir White is there.
I mean, just to
present the possibility here,
the first four games of the season, Madison
had no more than, I think,
five carries in any game.
So, I don't know that he actually
took the job from Zemir White.
It seemed like it was trending that way.
But that was what the thought was before White had the groin injury midweek.
It was the thought, but we didn't know it for sure.
And Madison has been so unimpressive.
What, 29 carries for like 80 yards or 70 yards or something like that
in his last two games.
So I don't think he's –
It was against Pittsburgh and who before that?
Denver.
No, tough, tough. Yeah, I mean, come on. No, I games. So I don't think he's against Pittsburgh and who before that Denver. No,
tough,
tough.
Yeah.
I mean,
come on.
No,
I'm just saying,
like,
I don't know that Madison,
like we don't,
Madison's not that good.
I can't say for sure that when Zemir white's back,
that,
that Madison's still the lead running back.
Sure.
All right.
And that's it.
And no interest in like Trey Tucker.
It was frustrating that he didn't get any targets.
Yeah.
That is frustrating.
I agree.
He had two targets last week, no catches.
It's frustrating when my fantasy players score zero points.
Yes.
If Jacoby Myers plays, where are you ranking him?
Flex range, PPR.
If Jacoby Myers plays, he would be in the,
between like JSN and Christian Watson.
Rams or Colts DST?
Jordan wants to know.
Rams.
Rams or Vikings DST?
I saw that.
I think I have the Rams higher.
What did you say?
Rams or who?
Vikings.
Rams.
I want Jamie's t-shirt. What that tom and jerry oh that's a
cool one i was watching uh my son was watching space jam for the first time the original and
i was like you watch bluey but when we were growing up this is what i watched looney tunes
like these are these are my my six-year-old is obsessed with both space jams like he will he
will watch it anytime it's on and he will will, hey, I want to watch Space Jam.
Like, you've seen it 30 times.
Like, why?
I was enjoying it.
I mean, I didn't really watch it.
I only watched the first 10 minutes.
The original or the new one?
The original.
Yeah, of course.
Yeah.
Have a great day, everybody.
