Sunday morning, week 17. If you're ready for some DFS or if you're setting some championship lineups, here we go.
I'll help you out right now on Fantasy Football Today in 5.
Good morning, Adam Acer and Heath Cummings here. One final time to set your lineups,
although we will have off-season shows on Fantasy Football Today in 5, three episodes per week.
Make sure you're following us and streaming us on Spotify.
Alright, we actually had some pretty big news over the weekend, Heath. Let's start with the New Orleans Saints.
No Alvin Kamara, no Latavius
Murray, no Dwayne Washington. They're all
out at Carolina today.
Ty Montgomery, start or sit?
Oh,
I really hope you don't have to, but it's not
a bad option. I would
expect we're going to see a more pass-heavy
approach from New Orleans than what we've seen as
of late. I wonder if we see a few more runs
for Taysom Hill,
but Montgomery's a borderline starter.
Okay, so are we bumping up Drew Brees?
I bumped him up a little bit.
I didn't quite get him into my top 12,
but I did bump him up just a little bit,
and he's a fine borderline starter in the Matt Ryan range. Do you feel like Montgomery is too obvious in DFS
or a must-play in DFS?
I don't think anyone is a must-play in this monstrosity of a week 17 slate.
I mean, we've got a dozen running backs that are not priced as starters
that are going to get 15-plus touches probably.
Okay. All right. Well, he's in my lineup.
Miles Sanders is also out Sunday night game against Washington.
Your interest in Boston Scott, who had 15 or more touches
in weeks seven and eight without Miles Sanders.
Yeah, the only thing is, I wonder what percentage of those touches
he's going to get now.
I would expect it's going to be more of a committee-type approach.
This is a bad matchup against a very good Washington defense.
I like Montgomery slightly more than Boston Scott.
Okay.
Alex Smith and Terry McLaurin could play tonight.
Is it too risky?
As of right now, as of 8 a.m. Eastern time,
is it too risky to start Terry McLaurin?
You know, we generally go with what Adam Schefter
or Ian Raffport tweets out, and Schefter tweeted out this morning that he expects Terry McLaurin? You know, we generally go with what Adam Schefter or Ian Raffport tweets out,
and Schefter tweeted out this
morning that he expects Terry McLaurin to play.
So, I don't want to use
Terry McLaurin. I think he's a borderline start
even if you do. Alex
Smith has not thrown the ball downfield very much,
and Washington's not thrown very much when they've had
a lead, and I expect them to have a lead.
But as a number three wide receiver, there's a ton
of upside there.
Christian Kirk is on the reserve COVID list.
They're at the Rams.
Does that change anything for Kyler Murray?
I was already pretty skeptical of Kyler Murray as a top 12 quarterback,
and now I am even more so.
I would rather start Mitchell Trubisky
than Kyler Murray.
How much faith do you have in the Lions passing game
with Matthew Stafford expected to start
against Minnesota today?
It's a good matchup.
They're going to give up a ton of points.
They're going to be chasing the score.
If you could guarantee me that Stafford was going to stay healthy the whole game,
I would like Marvin Jones as a high-end No. 2,
borderline No. 1 type wide receiver.
I think he's safe for as a low-end No. 2.
I'm starting TJ Hawkinson. I'm starting DeAndre Swift.
Okay, Alexander Madison
cleared from the concussion protocol.
How high are you on Madison today
with this matchup at Detroit?
He's a mid-range number two running back.
I think he has top 12 upsides, certainly.
I would not expect him to do
as much as Dalvin Cook does
in the passing game.
And we do have to keep
in the back of our mind
how much Madison struggled
the one time Cook was out earlier this year. But I think you're probably starting Madison I definitely like him
more than Boston's got time at Gunnery that range okay finally last one the Buffalo Bills
as of right now we still don't know what they're going to do so what what should you tell fantasy
players who are thinking about Josh Allen and Stefan Diggs etc. I would tell them that unless you have another starting option
that you like, I'm probably starting them.
I think that they're going to play at least part of the game.
Probably half the game is my guess.
Why would you start them if that's your guess?
You don't really know.
Well, I'm not going to go start somebody.
Stefan Diggs in half a game is probably still a top 15 wide receiver.
Okay, so you wouldn't start Emmanuel Sanders?
I would rather start Stefan. I think there's more risk in Terry McLaurin than there is in Stefan Diggs.
Sure, because McLaurin, you know, he's reportedly he might be limited.
But what about, you know, a Nelson Aguilar or Mike Williams or Emmanuel Sanders, somebody like that who, you know, could have a big game or Stefan Diggs?
Yeah, I'm probably starting Diggs over those guys.
All right.
Well, that's your final Starter Sid episode
of Fantasy Football Today in 5.
But like I said, we've got off-season content for you.
We're going to give you some NFL draft profiles,
things like that.
Any breaking news, we'll cover it on Fantasy Football Today in 5.
So follow and stream us on Spotify.
Thanks all season long to Heath Cummings and all of you for listening.
Good luck in week 17.
Go win some DFS money.
We'll talk to you later this week.
