This is fantasy football today from CBS Sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
No, I can't.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Off to the races and he stays on his feet.
This is gonna go the distance.
Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie and Heath.
Holy cow, just in on my phone.
Khalil Herbert to the Bengals. Did you see that?
No, I did not see that.
Khalil Herbert to the Bengals. That's going to change things. Welcome to the show everybody.
Is it?
Well, it's going to change the Waverwire show. It's going to change the Waverwire show a little bit.
Sure. Sure.
This is Fantasy Football Today presented by BedMGM, the sportsbook born in Vegas.
And I am Adam Azer with Dave Richard,
Jamie Isenberg will be joining us shortly,
unless he is rewriting his column,
because with this Khalil Herbert news,
let me just make sure it's a Tom Pelicero tweet.
So we'll go with it.
Bear's probably legit.
Yeah, Bears are sending Khalil Herbert to the Bengals
and Zach Moss out indefinitely.
So this is an interesting move here
and they play on Thursday.
All right, so today we'll talk about
the quarterbacks running backs, wide receivers,
tight ends and DSTs and kickers
that you need to add to your roster.
It's not the best waiver wire week,
but as always, there's some quarterbacks,
basically everything but running back.
You've got some options here.
And if you're desperate for a running back,
because there are four teams on by, we've got your back. Okay, let's take it away,
Dave. Who are your top three waiver wire priorities?
Dave Korsunsky Kaleo Herbert will not make my top three,
but I want to preface by saying that if obviously if you've got a buy week that you need to fill in
for, then you need to be active on the waiver wire. If you want to prepare for the buys in weeks 11 and 12,
because four teams on buy in week 11, six in week 12,
go ahead and do that.
If you've got a wart on your bench
that you just want to wipe off
and start with somebody fresh, you can do that too.
Otherwise, I kind of feel like this is a good week
to just skip the waiver wire.
So if your team's loaded, you've got playoff aspirations,
maybe you want to play off proof your roster a little bit. You could go in that direction too. Top three.
That's what you asked. That's what I'm going to give you. Quinton Johnston, Xavier Ligette.
And for now ahead of both of those guys, I mean, who else would it be other than Mike
Gassicki, who somehow is still available in 76% of leagues.
And a Gassiki plays on Thursday.
Obviously his excitement will be dependent on T Higgins, but T Higgins did not practice
on Monday.
So we're not expecting him right now.
Quentin Johnston, Xavier Liggett and Mike Gassiki.
And we've got...
Gassiki first.
Okay.
Gassiki and then Quentin Johnston and Xavier Liggett.
I do have...
But be fair, like if you're loaded at tight end,
say for Brock Bowers or David Njoku,
you're not making a move for Gissicky.
Jamie, you saw the Khalil Herbert news?
Yeah.
Okay.
Finally got traded to the team we wanted him to go to.
Woo.
Hate it, hate it, hate it.
You hate it?
Hate it for Herbert.
Oh, yeah.
Any impact on Chase Brown, you think?
No.
I mean, he takes his Zach Moss role, you know, so I'm sure eventually he'll have some opportunities.
You can't imagine it's going to be Thursday.
So you know, still Chase Brown is going to have, you know, the opportunity to play on
every down.
But yeah, eventually it's going to be a little bit of an impact.
Now look, granted, I haven't checked his grades recently, but Clio Herbert has never been
a good pass blocker.
So no, you want to know how many third down snaps he played last year? Look, granted, I haven't checked his grades recently, but Cleo Herbert has never been a good pass blocker. So, no.
You want to know how many third down snaps
he played last year?
I mean, I know he just doesn't play,
he's not going to play that role.
He's just going to probably be a change of pace back.
He's a good running back though.
So he's always been an efficient running back.
So we'll see how it plays out.
This is obviously just to replace Zach Moss on the roster.
He's most likely done.
Yeah.
I hope that, you know, hope for his sake that-
Yeah, hope he's okay.
And I just want to say that if I had listened to you guys,
you know, I'm in a good season, I've got some good teams,
but going Zach Moss over Chase Brown
is going to end up being a mistake.
You guys said it over and over, he gets hurt.
You like Brown better. And if I had done that, I'd have some real championship contenders.
So kudos to you on that call. Sorry that it ended up being an injury, but it was trending
Chase Brown anyway.
And you knew that like in September, like we were talking about that months ago. Bears
played over 233rd down snaps last year.
Herbert was on the field for 49 of them.
I don't think he's necessarily a one-to-one replacement
for Zach Moss.
I think Chase Brown-
He's a death replacement for Zach Moss.
Actually replaces Zach Moss.
He's a death replacement for Zach Moss.
I mean, look, something happens to Chase Brown.
They have their insurance.
That's it.
I think he's at I think
he's at best. Once he gets up to speed, eight, nine touches a
week. You just have to you just have to guess wonder how much
work are they willing to give Chase Brown? He's got so much
work. But he's I mean, he is let's just say, is it gonna be a
league winner? We'll find out but he is set up to have a good
good finish for your fantasy team. And right now it doesn't sound like you guys are too concerned about
Khalil Herbert ruining that opportunity for Chase Brown. So Jamie, let's get back to the
waiver wire for David was Mike Kosicki, Quinton Johnston and Xavier Liggett, who are your
top priorities?
I believe the same. I'm just trying to make sure I check what I sent in. Yep, exactly
the same. You know, obviously Kosicki was a guy I was highly recommending last week,
and he delivered a strong performance.
It's pretty clear now with the sample size of
no T Higgins what Kaseki is capable of doing.
I'll say the same thing I said on Sunday while we were getting over your foul language.
If you're in need of a tight end or you've picked up Mike Kaseki, or your foul language that, you know,
if you're in need of a tight end or, you know,
you've picked up Mike Koski,
you want T-Hackens to sit another week.
Yeah, absolutely.
So, if I could just maybe push back a little bit
on Quinton Johnston.
He had five targets.
His final line was four catches, 118 yards on five targets.
He was left completely uncovered on a 66 yard touchdown.
It was a complete bust, broken coverage.
Denzel Ward took the heat for, took the blame for that.
And I don't know, that doesn't really do it for me,
I guess is what I'm saying.
They've been throwing a lot lately.
I have some stats on Justin Herbert,
but like I know quarterback is deeper than wide receiver
and we need bodies at wide receiver.
Herbert's a more exciting player to add right now to me than Quentin Johnston.
I don't know.
Just the fact that it was that one big play that basically made his day.
I guess to your point, you know, long term versus short term factors into this.
But if I need a quarterback for this week and I'm receiver
needy and I could pick up two players and I'm first or second in a waiver priority or
have more FAP to spend in my league and I can control that I'm probably taking Quinton
Johnston and Daniel Jones or Quinton Johnston and Drake May and missing out on Justin Herbert
and trying to figure that out moving forward.
It's not just one week for Johnston.
It's what he was looking like at the week two, week three mark where he was starting
to build towards something.
The hope would be is that stays healthy, continues to develop as a second year receiver in an
offense that's opening up things a little bit.
Yes, you don't want to just chase a one play scenario, but pedigree matters for him. Opportunity matters for him.
Yeah.
And there's just a lot of things that play here that I think make
Quinton Johnston attractive.
Is he somebody that should be a must start receiver across the board?
No.
But is he somebody you want to have on your roster just to see what happens?
Absolutely.
And he could become that must start receiver because we saw before he got
hurt that he was doing a lot more than just running downfield he was, he,
his route tree, it's gotten better.
He's become a better wide receiver.
This week he plays Tennessee at home,
then Cincinnati at home,
then Baltimore at home,
on the road at Atlanta,
and then at Kansas City.
It's a great schedule for Justin Herbert.
It's a great schedule for Quentin Johnston.
All you have to do is hope that the Chargers stay
true to what they've been since the buy,
and that's a team that's willing to throw the ball
anywhere from 27 to 35 times a game.
And it should work out for Quinton Johnston.
Okay, then fine.
Let's do this bet.
I'll take Lee get over Quinton Johnston.
You guys can have Johnston and see.
I only have three weeks to home in Florida.
So lunch on the loser.
That's probably fine.
I don't have a problem if you want to go to get over Johnson for anybody that's, you know,
trying to add a receiver.
I think they're very similar.
You know, you have, I mean, obviously for the charges, the run based team that, you
know, is starting to throw the ball a little bit more, but there's a crowded receiving
core there for Lee get there's more of a path.
Are you doing this with the idea that Bryce Young is going to stay the starter or
not stay the starter? Cause I think that sways the upside of, of we get.
Yeah. There's also, are you doing this for one week or are you doing this rest of season?
Rest of season, rest of season. Right. So, but if it's one week, I'd probably take Lee
get against the giants, assuming that he's healthy and he should be, but he's got to buy after
this week.
Yeah.
So there are you, are you picking up Lee get to keep them on your bench and then you're
cutting them because he's on by, I don't like that idea.
That's why I sent ahead of league.
I can't imagine that with, with the way, you know, it's funny cause, um, I don't know how
many people that listen to us or watch us, you know, actually read the entire waiver
wire column, but I list all the injuries at the position.
And so what I do is when I open up the, our, one of our leagues, uh, our, our fans leagues
on CBS sports and I go to the injury page, I try to keep it, you know, uh, mostly to
20, 30% rostered players or more, you know, sometimes depending on the position, it goes
to 10%.
I have to keep scrolling and scrolling and scrolling at wide receiver. There's so many injuries, you know, sometimes depending on the position, it goes to 10%. I have to keep scrolling and scrolling and scrolling at wide receiver.
There's so many injuries, you know, so I can't imagine anybody that's
picking up either of these two guys.
Unless you're in a 10 team league or just really lucky, like you're dropping them,
you know, so by weeks, not by weeks injuries, you know, you're going to
have to make some tough calls, but I think for, you know, kind of going back
to what we said on Sunday, you know, the Elijah Moore example, you know, if you
pick up a player like Elijah Moore
in a competitive league, you're probably rostering him
for a few weeks just to see what happens.
So in the case of these two guys,
they're 50% rostered in that range.
It's very difficult to imagine them getting dropped.
Okay. Well, listen, if you haven't signed up yet
for BetMGM, let's get that going here.
Let's start that up.
Let's use that bonus code fantasy on BetMGM,
and you're gonna get up to a $1,500 first bet offer
on your first wager with bet MGM.
Download the bet MGM app
and sign up using the bonus code fantasy.
Deposit at least $10 and place your first wager
on any game, and you'll receive up to $1,500 in bonus bets
if your bet loses.
Just make sure you're using the code fantasy when you sign up. All right. How much
fab is this a this is a light fab week, right?
Unless you're desperate. Okay, so only thing I can think of.
Yeah.
I mean, you're not into life and you need a tight end real bad
then do what you got to do to get a sickie I suppose.
Tight tight end is the one position. The only thing plus and minus for Gassicki is you may spend
big on him Tuesday and then we find out Wednesday that Higgins is active. So just keep that in mind.
That would be the case if he's playing Sunday also. But that's a position you can see yourself
spending on. I think in Superflex, two quarterback leagues, you're going to spend on Cooper Rush
if you're stuck with the bye weeks.
So he may cost you a little bit.
I know it's not pretty, but still,
he's a starter that might have to give you 12 to 15 points.
And then if you feel good about your Oscar
and you wanna make sure you get one of these guys,
there's a lot of handcuffed running backs that are out there.
So you don't have to spend a lot on them,
but just guarantee that if you want Blake Corum or Kamani Vidal or, you know, Braylon Allen.
Clay Benson, Cam Akers.
Yep. I mean, any of these guys, you know, that are widely available, you know, there's
reason to go get them on your team if you can afford to carry them and certainly want to make
sure you lock it up. That's what I meant by playoff proofing your team. If you're relying on Aaron Jones, James Connor,
Kyron Williams, you know who we're talking about here,
J.K. Dobbins, and you're headed to the playoffs,
you've got that seven and two record or better.
First of all, nice.
Second of all, go ahead and get that handcuff now
while they're cheap, because you'd hate to be the guy.
Just think back to the fantasy managers that had McCaffrey
and then didn't have Jordan Mason.
And then they had to spend all their fab then
to get Jordan Mason after week one.
So who is the top that you could choose one handcuff
or who two like you were the top two you think?
I've got Benson at the top.
And I go back and forth between Braylon Allen and Cam
acres. I'll put Allen ahead of acres.
So I have three really that I think all fall in the same category.
It's Blake quorum one, Kamani, Vidal two, and Trey Benson three. Uh,
you got guys that are playing either behind injury prone running backs or have
an injury tracker. I don't say injury prone injury track record. Uh,
in the case of all three of them really.
Kyron Williams is getting so much work that just worry about breakdown as we saw last year,
could he miss some time? That's a great offense right now. Vidal obviously playing behind JK
Dobbins getting so much work. He's never had to do this before It's a very you know strong rushing offense and then Trey Benson obviously behind
Behind James Connor who we know has missed time and you'll got a little bit banged up in the game
On Sunday, so you know all three of these guys to me are very similar
You know you could see one getting a chance all three getting chances none getting chances, which will be ideal
We have Braille now is in the conversation
you know can makers now is established himself as the second guy for
For Minnesota so they're all have the chance to be helpful for you and look even in Chicago now now
We know it's Roshan if there's no Deandre Swift for for any period of time, you know
So that's another one that's got to be put in the mix too
So all these guys and and Dave's Dave's point is right,
but you could also flip it the other way and say, OK,
I'm going to take a chance on Blake quorum, even though I'm not the current manager.
I'm going to take a chance on Benson, even though I'm not the Conor manager,
because now I may end up with with two or three,
you know, starting options that I didn't have before.
Yeah. And I would obviously I throw Ray Davis in there.
We know if James Cook is out what he could do.
All right. He's just rostered. Well, David's could do. Right, he's just rostered in two.
Davis and Algier on a different level.
Right, agreed.
I don't know, I don't think they're on a different level.
Different roster level.
Different roster level, yeah, yeah.
Davis is 67% rostered, so he's close.
And then you've got guys like Jalen Warren,
and you definitely, I mean, Tajay Spears is a guy
that may be the only running back
I'm gonna actually be actively trying to pick up this week. I agree said that Tony Pollard is getting too much work and they have to take something
off his plate.
So we're hoping that Taji Spears comes back and you can't tell me that he doesn't have
big upside if Tony Pollard gets hurt.
So that's he's about 50% rostered.
And then I think Khalil Herbert goes right into this conversation too.
When Khalil Herbert gets work, he is good.
Oh, can you make the case that Herbert
is the top running back ad?
I mean, I don't really see why he's better than Spears,
but sure.
Yeah, I mean, I'm not prioritizing Clio Herbert unless.
No, I'm just saying could you make the case for it?
You could.
I guess so, but.
If you say they're gonna use two backs,
because they have been using two backs all year.
Right.
And here's one who's fresh legged and on a team that,
I mean, their offensive line still has some issues,
of course.
I gotta take a break here, guys.
My apologies.
Don't forget Gainwell.
Gainwell?
Yeah, I mean, the second one just did a crazy play that injured his back.
Is there like a Shipley, you know, split?
I'm not sure it'll all fall on Gainwell.
No, I don't think it'll all fall on any of these guys, to be honest with you.
I mean, Trey Benson is going to most likely lose to Amari Di Mercato.
You know, there's a lot of ways that these could get, you know, diced up.
But I mean, Gainwell is somebody that the coaching staff seems to trust.
And he was the first one in when Saquon
did his little loop-de-loop and got hurt.
All right. Hopefully Barclay's injury is nothing serious, by
the way. We'll be right back. And we'll give you the news and
notes, talk about the coaching firings, give you the top three
at each position. Recap, Monday Night Football is Patrick
Wilhom's back. Is Deandre Hopkins back, but also maybe
going to get shut down by Patrick Sertan this week?
We'll tell you when we come back on fantasy football today.
All right, folks, welcome back.
Let's go through the news and notes here.
The Raiders fired their offensive coordinator,
Luke Getze, their QB coach,
and their offensive line coach going into their bye.
And the Saints fired Dennis Allen.
Dave, do you think this has any fantasy impact?
Well, I'm curious what the Raiders will do. It sounds
like somebody with the last name Turner will take over their play calling, whether it's Scott Turner
or his dad, Norv. Maybe they'll work together to put together this POS offense and find something
decent out of it. No, nothing there. And the Saints, it's a combination of injuries and
nothing there. And the the the Saints, it's a combination of injuries and really just not great players left over that's
capsizing that team. I don't know why they're not sellers
today. They should be dumping every expiring contract they
can.
And by the way, if there's any big news, we'll be here for it
with a with a breaking news podcast, because there's
nothing else going on today.
Quarterback news, Dak Prescott left with a hamstring injury and he could miss multiple weeks.
So Cooper Rush in five starts in 2022, he was okay. He didn't throw all that much,
but he seemed competent. 28.6 pass times per game. He only completed 58% of his passes, 6.7 yards per attempt. But there was a lot of,
well, Cooper Rush really isn't that bad.
So I think you could do worse as a backup quarterback.
Other quarterback news,
Caleb Williams has an ankle injury,
but seems to be okay.
Joe Flacco is going to be the starter
going forward for the Colts.
They have Buffalo and the Jets.
So that's not gonna be easy.
And Daniel Jones is gonna start this week
and tomorrow on the sell, the buy sell show,
I wanna talk about the Giants and all these teams
that are two and seven, there are seven teams
that are two and seven right now, it's crazy.
And what's the future holds?
Cause this could be Daniel Jones' last start.
Not saying it will be, but they're on the hook
for big injury, a big number if he
gets injured for next year.
So they're going into a buy after that.
And then I really want to talk about Camara and what to do with him like on a terrible
deal.
You know what's happening with Daniel Jones, they're winning the game and then they're
going to play him out and then something's going to happen.
Yeah.
But but if they fall for Daniel Jones every time we We talked about it on the Beyond the Box score yesterday,
but something to revisit.
Running back news, Jordan Mason is back,
but so is Christian McCaffrey.
Yeah, Christian McCaffrey,
hopefully going to play this week at Tampa Bay.
Jameer Gibbs has an ankle injury.
He seems like he's fine,
but I think that was one of the reasons
he didn't play that many snaps in week nine.
I mentioned that the Titans would like to decrease Tony Powards workload.
Audrick Estimé is expected to get a bigger role going forward for the Broncos.
Jonathan Brooks... Down the stretch. He didn't say when.
Okay. Jonathan Brooks expected to play this week. Baltimore running back Keaton Mitchell
could play this week. Sell high on Derrick. No. And Zach Moss out
indefinitely and they have acquired Khalil Herbert in trade. Wide receiver. It was mostly good news,
but not with CD-Land, but Drake London could play this week. He's got a hip injury. T Higgins
would have been listed. He was listed as it did not practice yesterday. So it doesn't look great
for him right now in a short week at Baltimore for T Higgins. No, they'll practice again on Tuesday. So before waivers run, you'll know whether or
not T Higgins has a chance to play. That'll obviously impact your decision to go after
gets sick.
Key on Coleman is going to have an MRI on his wrist and Amari Cooper is day to day.
So they've got the Colts. You really want these guys healthy for the Colts. It'd be
great if Cooper could get back for this game.
AJ Brown could play this week.
He looks like he avoided serious injury.
They're at Dallas and then there's CD Lam.
And he also could play this week, but we just don't know.
So Dave, you working on the trade chart yet?
Nope.
Where do you think CD Lam will be?
A top 10 wide receiver?
We've got no DAC and we've got an injury situation.
Is he a top 10 wide receiver rest of season?
I'm not sure if we can list them quite that high.
Top 12 seems a little more sensible.
I'd be buying CD-LAM wherever I possibly can right now.
Even if there's no DAC, let's say the rest of the season.
So you got to gamble that DAC's going to return, you know, and that's the that's the choice you have to make. But if he does the playoff schedule is great.
So I would not be opposed to trying to get him cheap, but you got to get him cheap. Yeah.
And I'm in a situation where I mean, I feel like I have a really good team in this league,
but I lost Dax and lay I'm in super flex and I'm going to sell I'm going to I'm putting
on a block. So you know, you know, I need help right now.
So it depends on your situation.
But like the other thing is,
he really just hasn't been that good this year.
And this offense looks like crap.
I just asked Dak Prescott.
So I don't wanna pay for CD Lamb
thinking he's gonna be CD Lamb going forward.
That's that you can't pay original price.
You can't pay full price.
You know, you have to go to the discount market
and hopefully get the discount aisle and hopefully that he's gonna be, you can't pay full price, you know, you have to go to the discount market and hopefully get the discount aisle and hopefully that he's going to be, you know, available there
for someone who's desperate. And so like in your case, Adam, so what are you looking to get for C Josh Downs and and Chuba Hubbard Josh Downs and a little take Josh Downs and Chuba Hubbard. No, I don't know about Chuba Hubbard
I mean, I feel like he'll be good, but you have Brooks coming back, but let's say if you take would you take Josh Downs or
Rashad white
mmm
Josh down we think the running back I would take Josh Downs and
Man who's a little bit better than that?
Sorry, I really, I struggle with thinking of players
off the top of my head.
Would you take Brian Robinson and Josh Downs for-
If you told me Brian Robinson was coming back this week,
then I probably would.
Yeah, because you have to win right now.
What are you doing?
Like, you gotta win, go get a win.
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Like, you gotta get players
that are gonna help you immediately.
So-
You gotta go win your league.
Hey, Jacob's last week had the same value
on the trade chart as the number 12 receiver.
I would much rather have Jacobs and C.D. Lamb at this point.
So Lamb, that kind of makes me think Lamb will be lower
than a top 12 receiver.
All right, Jameson Williams is back.
Adam Thielen has a chance to play this week.
Juwan Jennings back at practice,
still waiting on Chris Olave.
And Cedric Wilson Jr. left with a shoulder injury.
I don't know if he's, I know he's in your waiver wire column.
Jamie, someone's gonna have to catch passes
for the Saints against the Falcons.
So he's a name to know, Cedric Wilson Jr.
He's also banged up though, you know,
so he left the game with a shoulder injury, came back.
But yes, this is more of the desperation variety. If
you're looking at Cedric Wilson, because no worries guys, the saints have Marquez Valdez
scantling will be fine. It's a, let me look, hopefully Chris Olavi clears the concussion
protocol based on his history and things that are going on there. You'd be surprised if
he does. But, um, I, again, there, there was, there's a one game sample size of Chris Olavi
missing time recently
and Cedric Wilson at 17 PPR points.
Let me answer this.
With garbage time touchdown, yes.
Is this a crazy question?
I don't think this is a crazy question.
So I'm gonna ask it.
Would you rather have CD Lamb or Chris Olave rest of season?
Well, they both have bad quarterback situations
and one's maybe missing weeks, who knows.
What, right, we don't know when Olavi's coming back and what happens if he takes another
hit to the head when he does come back.
Yeah, but we don't know when Lam's coming back. And honestly, if he takes another hit
to the shoulder, it seemed pretty painful for him last week.
They could both be absolute scrubs.
Eric Altour's ACL, Isaiah likely was listed as a DNP with a hamstring injury. The Cardinals
acquired pass rusher Baron Browning
from the Broncos for a six round pick.
The Lions acquired Zedaria Smith.
I feel like that was-
I didn't see that one coming.
Yeah, that was one that like Twitter willed into existence.
Micah Parsons is expected to play this week
against the Eagles.
The Titans, their pass defense has been pretty good
this year, but they lost Quandary digs to potentially a serious.
They've been playing without Snead.
Yeah.
And hopefully he gets back against the Patriots.
Oh, sorry.
It's the Chargers.
They just played the Patriots and they also lost Lloyd Cushionberry, their center for
the season.
And that's pretty much it for the injuries that we need to go over.
So let's go to the top three quarterbacks at each position. Top three players at each position.
We'll start with the quarterbacks.
There we go, we'll say it like that.
And Jamie, quarterback is always an interesting position.
Who are your top three priorities this week?
You mentioned Justin Herbert.
He's rostered a little bit too high
in what we tend to talk about, but he's close.
So if you want to put him top of the list,
I have no problem with that.
For me right now, it's Aaron Rodgers, one.
He saw the full potential of what he can do
when his top two receivers are producing a high level,
just had a season high in fantasy points.
Two would be Trevor Lawrence,
just upcoming matchups I think are somewhat in his favor,
and he's actually been playing well.
And then Drake May, I mean,
talk about running quarterbacks.
He had 46 yards rushing in a touchdown
and a half against the Jets,
then 95 yards rushing against the Titans. So we like that tough matchup in Chicago,
but then the schedule lightens up very, very much.
So I have a different order, but it's also based on week 10 and my order. It's Daniel
Jones first because he's taken on Carolina. But after that, I don't want them on my team.
Don't do it. Rogers is next. And then Russell Wilson deserves some credit.
He's really played well the last two games
where he started for Pittsburgh.
And I like him both this week and moving forward
if you need a number two quarterback
or a bi-week quarterback coming down the line.
Yeah, if you don't feel good
about your quarterback this week,
that's, you got kind of some,
maybe you're at a deep league,
but we haven't even talked about like Tua could be available
in some leagues, he's at the Rams, Stafford's 80% rostered,
so those are not guys who are widely available,
but you should feel pretty good.
I'm guessing your top 12 is pretty robust this week,
even with Cleveland, Green Bay, Las Vegas,
and Seattle on by.
Okay, so we'll have some interesting quarterback to start sit decisions, I would and Seattle on by. Um, okay. So, so we'll have, uh, some interesting quarterback to start sit decisions.
I would think this week, uh, Dave, who are your top three running backs?
Spears is the number one.
And this is assuming that you can't get your clappies on Tyler
Algera, Ray Davis.
They're both rostered and at least two thirds of CBS leagues, but I don't
know what they are on ESPN, Yahoo, et cetera.
So double check to make sure. Spears won.
And then after that, it's gross.
I go back to the well with Justice Hill
and then Jeremy McNichols after that,
assuming that Brian Robinson is out.
But I still really liked the idea
of going after one of those handcuff running backs.
We talked about it during draft season.
Why not get into it now?
Listing some names off again. For me, Benson is at the top of the list.
Braylon Allen, Roshan makes sense. Jamie's right now that Khalil Herbert's out of
town. Khalil Herbert makes sense. And Cam Akers is the number two running back in
Minnesota. Aaron Jones hasn't looked amazing the last couple of games. So I
wonder what's going on there. And if the
wear and tear is starting to catch up with him, I'd like to have acres if I've got Aaron
Jones.
And you said McNichols, Jamie and I were texting about that this morning and wondering if,
if Chris Rodriguez is the better option there, cause it seems like they just sort of lost
faith in McNichols. He just wasn't getting it done against the Giants. They went to Rodriguez
and Rodriguez closed the game out
for them.
So we weren't quite sure.
We don't know how that's going to play out.
I guess he's been moved to the practice squad, Jamie, but
you know,
that's just procedural.
You know, he was on the practice squad prior to the game.
When Robinson couldn't go, they activated him.
And then they sent him right back to the practice squad on
Monday. You're right.
He did look better. He did close the game.
McNichols has clearly been the better of the two over the course of the season. Neither one had to target against giants
So um the way that I frame it in the column
I think it's probably the same thing to say here
I wouldn't go crazy for either one because robinson was close to playing so this is more end of week type of move, you know
So if we get to you know, thursday friday and robinson's still not practicing then take a flyer on whichever one you think is going to
Be better Uh, you know mcnickels played four more snaps than rodriguez Friday and Robinson still not practicing, then take a flyer on whichever one you think is going to be better.
You know, McNichols played four more snaps than Rodriguez.
But like you said, Rodriguez was better and closed the game out.
So who knows where the commanders decide to go.
I wish we had some certainty because it's a valuable spot to have because you know,
you could be looking at maybe 12 total touches in a matchup that's not great, but you know,
still could have some ed zone potential.
All right, let's talk about our top wide receivers, Jamie.
And we've already spoken about a couple of them,
but we'll get some more names.
And I want to throw the Browns wide receivers in there
in case Cedric Tillman or Jerry Judy is available.
And Elijah Moore is definitely available.
And they are going into their buy
and their schedule is about to get a lot harder.
But I gave this stat out on beyond the box score yesterday.
And I think tie your your shoes, guys,
it might knock your socks off.
Here are, over the last three weeks,
the top five players in routes run.
And I don't have this in front of me,
so I might get the order wrong,
but players, routes run over the last three weeks.
Is this every position or just receiver?
Every position.
Cedric Tillman,
Jerry Judy, Elijah Moore, Kaishan Booty, and David Njoku. It is four Cleveland Browns
and Kaishan Booty. Those are your top five in routes run. And it's kind of, it made me feel a
little bit worse about them. They are throwing the ball so much. They've had favorable matchups. None of them are really getting a huge target share. They're all getting a lot of targets, but it's all three of them.
And then the Nijoku factor is in as well. But with the schedule getting tougher, if you see
Quentin Johnston or Xavier Lee get out there and you can get Cedric Tillman or Jerry Judy,
then what would your order be?
Tillman would be one. Then the same other two guys that we talked about.
And then, yeah. Okay.
Okay.
And if you sort it by route, great. So routes by drought routes over dropbacks, only Judy
is in the top like 15 amongst wide receivers over the last three weeks. All positions, wide
receivers, running backs and tight ends. But he's got the highest route per drop back rate
in the league at 99.4% over the last three weeks.
Okay. So, tell me what you have.
Just some context, just something we talked about. According to the NFL network, Zach
Moss is going to miss the rest of the regular season.
Right. Okay. So, Tillman, Quentin Johnston, Xavier Lee get for you guys. And then if the,
if we go a little bit deeper to Mario Douglas would be on, on the list as well.
And we'll give you some more names later, but there's a lot of like,
this guy could be good or has done something recently players you can add, you know, so
DeMarcus Robinson and Nick Westbrookbrook Aquina have scored touchdowns recently
it's worth looking at them given their situations clearly when the Rams passing
game is flowing the Marcus Robinson's is playing better it's just frustrating
that he wasn't doing this when the guys were absent earlier in the season Westbrook
Aquina has now scored a touchdown in four straight games and just had I
believe a season high five catches so you know somebody that could continue to step up in the absence of DeAndre Hopkins.
You mentioned Douglas, two full games with Drake May, two games with nine targets.
So something to buy into there.
There's just a handful of receivers that we'd love to have the main guys that we were counting
on healthy, but clearly that's not the case.
So you might be taking some dark throws and hopefully they hit.
And arguably the two best matchups for a wide receiver are Minnesota and Detroit. And those
are Parker Washington's next two matchups and he's only 7% rostered. So if you're in
a deep league, Parker Washington is a name to know. All right. Let me just ask you, let's
throw Joanne Jennings in the mix guys. If Joanne Jennings were available, is he ahead of Cedric Tillman?
I would say yes and no. Yes.
If you need a receiver this week, clearly because someone's on a bi-week.
So if you need to win, you're taking Jennings first of both are available.
If you are looking long-term, I'd probably go tillman. It's funny because, uh,
in, uh, one of my father's son leagues with my 12 year old, he had Jennings.
He wanted to pick up Tillman.
I said pick up downs instead.
He picked up downs and immediately both the other receivers were added.
So we'll see how that plays out.
You did the right thing.
Okay, Dave, who were the top three tight ends?
Gassicki is number one.
Hunter Henry is number two.
And then clearly a tight end,
not a running back, not a quarterback,
definitely a tight end, Taysom Hill number three.
Taysom Hill, what'd he have, four or five targets last week?
I gotta check it.
Some people catch it in that neighborhood, I think.
They need to throw the ball to someone,
and he had a short yardage rushing touchdown as well.
Five targets, four catches, 41 yards,
all season highs for Taysom.
I was wondering if that was a career high for him
in targets, let's check.
It was not, he had eight targets in 2023.
Okay, and DSTs, Jamie, who we streaming?
It's not the best week.
The guys I have, the teams I have at the top are the Lions.
They get Houston with that banged up offensive line, you when Nikko Collins coming back,
the Giants get Bryce Young who's got three interceptions in the last two starts.
And the Falcons, if you want to trust them, they get the Saints and what's left of that
offense.
Okay, the Lions.
I feel like they've been good, right?
I mean, they're just a good defense.
And there's 56% rostered.
Yeah, these are all teams that are rostered
in less than 65% of leagues.
You know, you could see if somebody dropped the 49ers,
the Steelers coming off their bye week,
you know, those would be favorable teams to carry.
I don't love the matchup for the 49ers this week
because Bakers is still playing great.
But the Steelers are the Steelers.
And you can look at the Bills, you can look at the Vikings, any of these teams that are potentially under way, but these are the ones that we you know, you can look at the bills, you look at the Vikings, you
know, any of these teams that are, you know, potentially underway everywhere, but these
are the ones that we go with our range.
In case you were throwing up at the idea of getting the Lions, they've given you at least
eight fantasy points every week this season, 12 plus in each of two games without Aiden
Hutchinson.
And now they're taking on Houston.
Houston's allowed 12 plus to two of the past three
DSTs that they faced. It's because of that offensive line more than anything else.
But it's also because they haven't had Nico Collins and Nico should we're hoping back this
week. We don't know that though. We don't know that he'll be back. He's eligible to come back
this week. We're ranking him. So he's expected. The Lions have scored a touchdown in two straight
games defensively. Can't rely on that, but they just are.
So that's why I think they're winning the Superbowl.
Although that team in Kansas City is pretty good.
We'll talk about them in a little bit.
Here goes the mush.
Sorry, Lions fan.
You know, I've always been a big Lions fan.
All right, Jamie, who are the kickers to get?
Well, everybody cares about the kickers.
Chris Boswell coming off his bye week has been awesome.
Cameron Dicker gets the Titans and Blake group
groupie groupie groupie
pukey
The Falcons are second and most fancy points allowed to get to opposing kicker
So we'll see if they can move the ball enough to give him some opportunities, right?
Would you be excited to add groupie knowing that the Saints offense is so I would not be surprised
It will first off the Falcons defense stinks.
So I would not be surprised if we get a lot of movement
between the 20s for the Saints and no touchdowns.
So as long as they still have Alvin Kamara,
they're gonna be able to, I think, have some success
because again, the Falcons are awful.
So field goal opportunities, yes.
Touchdowns and extra points, no.
Okay.
And we'll take a break.
And we've got shallow leagues.
Less no weather concerns.
Yep, shallow leagues, deep leagues, Kansas City,
Tampa Bay, Dropo meter, and a recap
and some more names to know from the waiver wire.
We'll be right back.
If you haven't already, please go vote today.
Make your voice heard.
Be part of our system.
I remember the first time I voted
and it changed history for all of you kids
out there who are opening your Halloween candy and you're eating a blue M&M. I just want you to
know that I had a lot to do with that. That was the first time I voted for anything. You know,
you may not know this, but there wasn't always a blue M&M. But I don't know, maybe 25 years ago or
so, maybe a little more, they
said, hey, we're going to do a phone campaign for the new color of M&M. You can call in
and vote. And I did it and we won. And forever now we're going to have blue M&Ms. So you're
welcome. And in my opinion, they taste just a little bit better than the other M&Ms in
the bag. So that's my voting story.
Right for artificial coloring.
I didn't get I didn't get a sticker for that one.
But yeah.
All right, Jamie, the shallow league guys, I did bring up some of them.
I brought up Joanne Jennings and Cedric Tillman and a little bit of Tua and Stafford.
But like who are some of the guys that are available in I don't know, somewhere between
65 and 80 ish percent of our leagues that you think are must ads right now.
Stafford, too, and Herbert a quarterback.
Stafford, you know, despite punching Nakua getting thrown out, still got over 21 fantasy
points and to a tough matchup, 21 fantasy points, much better situation for both those
teams taking on each other.
Herbert has been very good the last two weeks, 23 plus fantasy points.
So hopefully keeps it going and continues to throw the ball around 33 times per game at running back it's not
as robust as it has been the last several weeks but Tyler Algier and Ray
Davis are both in the range of guys that we tend to talk about both guys are
getting you some production in tandem with their starters but we see the
upside in the path to success if their starters in Atlanta and Buffalo
respectively were to get
injured. Wide receiver is a little bit better of a list in terms of guys that could help you now.
You mentioned Jennings who's hopefully going to play this week and then Cedric Tillman
coming off of there by next week. Jerry Judy also 67 percent. Keenan Allen just had 13 targets,
he's at 79 percent. Romo Dunze had maybe a breakout game for him. Hopefully it's something to build off of 66%
So those guys are in that range of you know players that we tend to talk about
Titan is not so good as it has been because most of the guys have started to get roster a little bit
I'll go back to Zach Ertz this week not as a must-start player, but somebody to pick up, you know
Just based on what he was doing prior last week. I didn't like the match against Giants play itself out
I only had one target
And Colcomet I don't want to trust him, but the matchup is fantastic. The Patriots have been
miserable against tight ends lately. So if you are stuck, you know, again, four teams on a buy,
no Nijoku, no Tucker Craft, no Brock Bowers, you know, so you might need a tight end in a desperate
situation. Colcomet might be helpful for you. Behind those other guys that we're going to talk
about that are available, you know, so don't take them over Gosecki or Taysim or Hunter Henry,
but you know, certainly can be useful if you need.
Yeah, I gotta say, I have one league where I have
Trey McBride and Jake Ferguson,
and I haven't been able to trade one of them, tried.
I think I'm gonna drop Ferguson.
You know, for a while I was like,
I don't wanna put a really good tight end on the waiver wire,
but now with this DAC injury, I don't know how you feel about that.
Yeah.
So he's at 85%.
It may have shifted with some of the numbers that changed overnight.
But just keep in mind McBride's bi-week is in week 12.
And you know, you may need a tight end replacement.
So you know, if you can't get your hands on somebody that's better than Ferguson, is anyone
going to pick him up?
Are you guys going to even pick up Ferguson if
he were available on your waiver wire?
If I miss on Gassicki and I need a tight end this week, then yeah. And then it's a week
sooner than week 12 when Arizona's on buy. So if you've got that specific situation or
if you've got McBride and another tight end, I might wait to let go of that other tight
end until after Arizona's week 11 by.
All right.
I'm just, I didn't want to make it about my team.
I just want to know your thoughts on Ferguson going forward.
Where is he's part of the streaming conversation now, or is he still a must roster guy?
He's, yeah, I'll say maybe roster guy, you know, right?
It depends on what you're looking at.
And again, multiple weeks with a hamstring injury could just be two, you know, it sounds worse, but it could just be two weeks. And so, you know, you may, you may get to a point where week 11, there's Dak Prescott. Again, I think that's being very optimistic, but who knows? And look, Cooper Rush, we know how times that at times young quarterbacks or inexperienced quarterbacks lean on their tight ends.
There's not a lot of great options in this passing game.
So if there is no, what happens if Jake Ferguson and again, huge stretch, but what happens
if Jake Ferguson becomes Kate Otten if CD Lamb misses time.
Well, that's, you know what?
That's a great point.
I think you have to see the lamb, the lamb update before we, before we move on from Ferguson.
Right.
That's why he's a maybe drop and not just a straight out now drop.
And the same advice with, you know, McBride and another tight end, it goes for Otten and
another tight end too, because Otten's on by in week 11. The only problem for you, Adam, is
I'm pretty sure Houston, I know it might be a little bit of fake statistics, but I think their
first terms of fantasy points allowed, fewest fantasy points allowed to tight end and that's
who Ferguson gets in week 11 when McBride's off
That's okay. I mean crushing that league anyway. I don't even need to win that week. Let's Dave
Here's the thing about Jake Ferguson that that nobody's saying right is Dave Ferguson is available in my league
None of these guys are to the deep lead guys Dave Richard
Get ready for a bunch of Panthers everybody deep league at quarterback, I'm skipping over guys like Daniel Jones and Drake May.
To give you Bryce Young,
Cooper Rush, Gardner Ritter, or Desmond Minshew.
It's that bad at quarterback,
but Bryce Young's played okay in his two starts.
I can't imagine the Panthers are
going to pull the rug on him again.
I don't think he's played that bad.
At running back, again, digging deep,
Khalil Herbert is now probably at the top of
the deep league ad list at running back, 88 percent available.
Cam Akers is out there.
I guess Audrick Estimé and Ty Johnson or other guys,
but again, this is deep league type of stuff.
All these guys are available in 80 plus percent of leagues.
At wide receiver, Demar of leagues at wide receiver.
Demarcus Robinson at 81%. Jamie, you've talked about Nick Westbrook, Akina touchdown in each of his last four games. He's playing a lot.
He's basically the number two receiver in Tennessee.
So I think that he's an option. Of course, now when everybody rushes to him,
he's going to give you a two for 30 type game.
I like what I saw from Jalen Coker.
Although he didn't play, he didn't run as many routes last week, but just again,
big bodied slot receiver type for Carolina.
He's out there in 89% of leagues.
Um, Josh Brown, Josh Palmer, rather 82% of leagues, Cedric Wilson, 99%
Parker Washington, 93%, okay.
You get it.
And then at tight end,
Jatavion Sanders had some really nice plays for Carolina. He's 96% availability. And then
John Smith, Theo Johnson to round it out at tight end. Yeah, Sanders is interesting. The giants are
actually on paper. They're good against tight ends. They give up the third fewest points. They see
the second fewest targets per game. They haven't allowed a touchdown to a tight end. I don't really know if they're
actually good against tight end, like good at it, but they're not going to. Here's a player that
plays a lot for Carolina. Yeah. Uh, well, and like he played more than Coker did. And I know
everybody's all caught up with the backwards hurdle that, that Saquon did. There was a nice
hurdle from Sanders over a defender when he caught a
like a sideline pass, jumped the dude and gained extra yards after the catch. So his athleticism
is starting to show he's a nice young player for Carolina. If you whiff on all those other tight
ends, you know, Jatayvion Sanders could be somebody that you use against the Giants.
He's been solid in three of the last four games. And I think if you're really in deep leagues,
I think one of the questions is who's going to catch passes other than Alvin Camara for the New Orleans Saints in
a very favorable matchup against Atlanta.
Are we looking at Joanne Johnson?
Are we looking at Cedric Wilson?
I mean, and we've been chasing Joanne Johnson every week, every week they've had an injury
where she goes down.
Okay, Joanne Johnson, Chris Olavi misses time.
Okay, Joanne Johnson.
It just doesn't seem like it's going to materialize for him.
Now, this might be the time that he does something because it's just, you know, that fluke of a season certainly for the Saints.
But I would just look at deep league.
Cedric Wilson probably going to be the guy that Derek Harlan's on first. Mason Tipton could be that guy.
They may add a wide receiver. They mentioned MBS.
He may get a player to down the field that he does something and we say, okay, we should have, you know, played him in DFS. But I think the only real
Saints player that you really that you should be adding is Taysom Hill because you know he'll get
carries, you know, he'll get opportunities. He scored two rushing touchdowns against the Falcons
in the first meeting. So, you know, he's the one that if you're looking at it from who's the best
in New Orleans, it's Alvin Camaro, skip a lot of space, it's Taysom Hill, forget about the rest.
Okay.
All right, let's talk about last night's game.
I think most people seem to feel like
they should have gone for two.
And Todd Bowles didn't like the field conditions,
decided to kick the extra point.
And no one's ever lived to regret that
against the Kansas City Chiefs going to overtime.
And the Chiefs win 30 to 24, but I'm good for Baker Mayfield scoring 22 fantasy points in this game. And it's really pretty impressive. But Dave, give me your thoughts on the on the Bucks offense right
now. I love that Baker is doing this sort of with smoke and mirrors. I mean, even Jalen McMillan
didn't play last night.
And it took until the last drive of the game for him to really get his receivers going.
But he's finding a way to get decent production and kind of defying what we've been saying.
The upside wasn't there this week, but who's to say it's not there moving forward.
And eventually Mike Evans will be back and Baker will be Baker. So it's good on Baker good on Baker. Uh, I don't really like trusting any bucks running back, moving forward, but
Rashad white would be the one, especially in leagues where catches count and Kate Otton
is a beast. He's absolutely like a top five fantasy tight end for now.
And imagine what Deandre Hopkins can do if he played more than 60% of the snaps, which
is what he played in this game. He barely played last week, played 60% this week.
It was awesome.
By the way, he was started. DeAndre Hopkins and Xavier Worthy had the same exact start
percentage. They were both started in 47% of leagues. There was about a 28.6 PPR point
difference between them. So if you had to choose between Hopkins and Worthy, hopefully
you made the right decision.
Hopefully you started Adam Ailer over Xavier worthy because worthy didn't give you positive
fantasy points. And he obviously almost did. He should have
had at least the catch down to the two yard line if not a touchdown, but didn't get a
foot in bounds. So Jamie, looking at my home's huge game, 30.5 fantasy points. He was actually
started in 85% of leagues. He goes from the Bucs this week to the Broncos and the Bills next week. But do you think Deandre Hopkins makes Patrick
Mahomes a top 12 quarterback going forward?
No, this was a layup matchup and he took advantage of it, you know, gave us a hell of a scare,
you know, with what looked like what what could be a scary, you know, non-contact injury there
on touchdown to Samajah Perrine.
But no, I mean, this is a, you said it at the start of the show.
This is the type of receiver that Patrick Sertane shuts down in DeAndre Hopkins.
So it's going to be tougher for Hopkins to continue to make plays.
The nice thing is that Travis Kelce is Kelce again.
So you know, that'll help Mahomes.
But I mean, given some of the quarterbacks that we're talking about, I would start Daniel
Jones over Patrick Holmes this week.
I know that's not.
I don't mean this week.
I mean, rest of season.
I'm just going to take it week by week because, you know, we may get Juju back at some point.
We may get, you know, Marquise Brown at the end of the season if he's able to get healthy.
So that will change, I think, some of the things for my homes.
But at this point, no, I don't think it's a it's it's not a blanket statement. It's not
he's he's back to being a must star quarterback. There's too
many players this position that are playing just as well, if not
better. And I'd rather take my chances with those guys and
some favorable schedules. I'd rather take Aaron Rodgers over
Patrick Holmes rest season or I take Justin Herbert over home
dress of season. You know, so it sucks to say that or even even
think it but it's just the case right now. Okay. By the way, Hopkins, You know, so it sucks to say that or even even think it,
but it's just the case right now.
Okay.
By the way, Hopkins, you know,
one of the things we look at a team's,
can you do well against Patrick Sertan
is what is your slot rate?
He played 38% of his snaps in the slot last night.
Unfortunately did almost all of his damage out wide.
He had one catch for 35 yards on two targets.
But if he plays that much in the slot,
it gives him a better chance.
I do think that you'll see, just a guess,
you'd see Surtan follow him into the slot
on maybe half those snaps.
That's kind of what he's done against guys
like Mike Evans and George Pickens and whatnot.
Anybody that he probably thinks he can run with.
Yeah, I mean, Zay Flowers is just,
that's why he just wasn't the kind of guy that, that
Patrick Sertane was going to cover, going to shut down.
He's just a different type of receiver.
All right.
No.
And slot guys that have really been hurting Denver lately.
If we're qualifying Zay as a slot guy.
When?
Yeah, I mean, 40% slot rate.
It's close.
It's a borderline.
When Pacheco comes back, Kareem Hunt is blank.
First week, still a flex.
Second week, probably on your bench.
I hope this isn't true.
Look at this comment from the chat.
I created Adam Azer as a flanker in NCAA on PlayStation.
I inserted him on the 87 canes and Bosworth flattened him out for the season.
Man, Bosworth was such a beast.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure we embarrassed Bosworth that year.
Dave, I don't know if you could back me up on that, but we had our way with Oklahoma.
Okay, drop-o meter.
Deontay Johnson, 90% rostered.
10.
No, I'm not ready to say 10, but it's up there.
It's like a five or six.
Keon Coleman, 87% rostered.
Even lower.
Two.
Dalton Kincaid, 90%.
Even lower, zero.
Kyler Murray, 98%.
Two zero.
He's got the Jets this week and then a buy though. I don't have to start them, but zero maybe in a 10 team league.
You could, you could let them go.
Okay.
What do we got here?
Sam Laporta, 98% rostered.
Two, three, four.
If you need to win this week, you're dropping him for Gassicki, right?
Right, but that might be the type of player in your situation where you're carrying two tenants.
Christian Watson, 58% rostered.
Ten.
Bon voyage.
Romeo Dobbs, 89%.
Five.
Five.
How about Michael Pittman? 92%.
Bon voyage.
Two.
What do you think Dave?
Will you give him another chance here?
He's pretty good with Flacco before.
I know, but I don't think he's the number one receiver and I think he's playing hard.
TJ Hawkinson,% 6.5. Job for Kisiki if you need to win.
Right. I'm I don't like it. I want to see Hawkinson succeed.
But I you got to do what you got to do to win right now. This
week though, it should be a layup. Should be. Is it gonna
play enough? I hope so. Yeah, you'd hope so. Right? I mean, only played about half the snaps in his first game back,
TJ Hawkinson. So let's finish.
Yeah, it's a little sad that Josh Oliver had a dominant game and Hawkinson didn't.
Let's finish up.
Maybe my expectations were a little too high.
You ready to finish up now? Let's finish up with the quarterbacks,
with all the positions on the waiver wire and just go over it again here with Stafford and Tua
facing each other on Monday Night Football
and Justin Herbert being the shallow league guys.
If they were all available,
Stafford, Tua, Herbert, who are you picking up?
Stafford first, Herbert second.
I'll tell you this about Herbert.
He has in the last four games,
now some teams have been on by,
but he has the third most pass attempts in
the NFL, second most passing yards behind Lamar Jackson, but he's only 23rd in touchdown rate.
And another thing I like about this in these four games in which again, Justin Herbert has the
third most pass attempts, the Chargers have given up 16, 17, 8 and 10 points in these games. They're
throwing and it's not like their defense has
been bad. So it's just a really interesting twist in a Greg Roman offense. They're just throwing
the ball right now. They might be running a lot of plays. That's one thing I have to look into.
All right. Then we've got Aaron Rodgers. Is Aaron Rodgers ahead of those? I think you said he was,
right, Jamie? Would Rodgers be number one ahead of Stafford Herbert? No. I mean I like him this week. I started over
Herbert this week for example. But they're all in the same mix. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones
on 105.3 the fan says it's likely that Dak Prescott will be moved to injured reserve.
So there's four games.
At least, and then they got nothing to play for. Impossible, possible.
Yeah, I wonder if it's, where's he on the droplet meter?
Oh, he's got a hundred.
Unless you've got IR spots, you can throw them IR.
But if you don't have IR, then send them to,
I can't think of anything clever that ends with R.
One, R with R.
Okay, someone's saying, Adam, you said the Chargers were awful six weeks ago.
You said they shouldn't be on prime time.
So I don't know what I said,
but they are such a boring team.
Like they're starting to be less boring,
but this is a team that during the Brandon Staley era
was just shoved down our throats on prime time
and they were always so
bad, they would always lose. It's like, I feel bad for all of you. I have to watch the Giants
all the time on primetime. The Chargers are boring. That huge play that Quinn Johnson was so awful to
watch. Touchdown to Josh Palmer was terrible to watch. Who wants to watch multiple Jake Dobbins
touchdowns? When was the last time the Chargers were on primetime? Do you remember?
No. I believe it was the lowest rate.
I think I saw it was like the lowest rated
prime time football game ever.
It was a few weeks ago
when there were two Monday night games.
They played it.
It counts.
They played it.
It was streaming.
No, it was.
Oh yeah, right.
It was.
It was awful.
It was everything I said about the Chargers in prime time.
All right, Rogers, you missed it, if you missed me on the box score
yesterday, we did best quarterback schedules going forward.
He's one of them.
Although as we dive into this,
I think you have to actually wonder
if the Cardinals are that easy of a matchup.
They faced some very good quarterbacks this year
and they're 20th against quarterbacks.
But after that, it's so good.
I like that they're adding to their defense too.
Yep.
Browning is a good ad for them.
Trevor Lawrence against Minnesota, who can be a good matchup because teams
throw a lot on them. Typically Drake may don't love them against the bears,
I'm assuming. But after that schedule gets much better, much easier.
And for Lawrence, three rushing touchdowns in his last two games.
Daniel Jones, is he in your top 12 this week?
Just outside. Right. Would you start Daniel Jones, is he in your top 12 this week? Just outside.
Right.
Would you start Daniel Jones or Bo Nix?
Jones.
Jones.
Daniel Jones or Trevor Lawrence this week?
Jones.
I believe if I have Jones, spot it.
Daniel Jones or Brock Purdy at Tampa Bay?
Purdy. Brock. Did you see what my homes just did? Yeah.
See what four of the last five quarterbacks have done to Tampa?
Daniel Jones or Baker Mayfield. I think it's three of the last five day because cousins did it twice.
Daniel Jones or Baker Mayfield. I hate betting against Baker.
Yeah, me too.
So I just want to, you guys missed this yesterday.
Unfortunately, you didn't listen to me on the box score,
which is very rare for you guys.
I know it's appointment viewing for you typically on YouTube.
Daniel Jones has the best quarterback schedule
going forward in the NFL.
It's so amazing.
And I don't care,
because I honestly think he could get benched, but.
But the worst part is I know he got over his home woes, but most of those games are home.
Wonderful. All right. Then there's guys like Jameis Winston, Bright Young.
It doesn't make you in Super Flex leagues want to pick up Drew Lock.
I saw some speculation that they would go with Tommy DeVito. I don't know if it was credible at
all. But again, we got to talk about Malik neighbors tomorrow. We got to talk about it.
It was credible at all. But again, we got to talk about Malik neighbors tomorrow.
We got to talk about it.
And then we might get Will Levis back this week.
And whatever, that could hurt Calvin Ridley.
Running backs.
It's a bunch of handcuffs.
But what are you doing about Jordan Mason versus Isaac
Guarendo?
Mason's got to be the number two best.
Just in case.
I mean, we know how this has gone with McCaffrey all season long, where at
first Shanahan said if this was a playoff game, he's playing.
I'm stashing Garendo.
If I don't need anything this week, that's the one player I'm putting on my bench because
in two weeks, three weeks, a month, he may be the best running back in San Francisco.
So I want to have that team in two weeks, three weeks, a month, he may be the best running back in San Francisco. So I want to have that team in two weeks, three weeks, a month.
He's doing that.
That's the that's the gamble.
Right.
So yeah, do you feel like the same type of gamble as every other running back that were
for sure.
But the two guys ahead of him right now are coming off Achilles problems and shoulder
injury that
he can't stay healthy. Like why would you, if you're talking about waiting out a Kyron Williams
injury or a James Connor injury or an Aaron Jones injury, these two guys are banged up right now on
the best running team in the last five years. Like why would you not have that? So, but it's
two guys. It's not one guy and they're both. All right. Other running backs.
Are you smashing him ahead of, uh, Trey Benson?
Yes.
Okay.
Okay.
Jalen Warren 63% roster.
I mean, you want to say two guys, it could be DeMarcato and Benson.
Like there's no guarantee of the Benson.
Uh, yeah, no, it's just, it's really just a matter of if, if McCaffrey
were to get hurt again, would they go to Mason?
You're saying Mason's playing through this.
His shoulder injury, we don't even know, but he did practice yesterday.
So I understand where you're coming from.
Jaylen Warren is a running back that is not only a handcuff, but someone who's going to
get probably about 10 to 12 touches.
So
Warren and Spears are the Spider-Man meme.
Yes.
And one's healthy.
Right, exactly.
Jamie's got Jaleel McLaughlin on here you stay here. I changed that I'm
sorry when you when you brought up the estimate news and you
texted me this morning I took McLaughlin. You know, I kind of
combined the guys so I dropped estimate a few spots below where
McLaughlin is and just if you want to take a chance on
McLaughlin who's a you know, smaller Spider-Man, you know,
he's a multiverse Spider-Man compared to Spears and Warren.
He'll get you some work, some production, but it's just too crowded to say Mustad. Justin Hill, you never know with him, he could always also multiverse Spider-Man guy
plays for the Ravens could always score. You got Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez,
if Brian Robinson doesn't play and then just a bunch of handcuffs.
Okay, it is honestly the stretch that we're in and you said it last week, which is a thousand percent accurate
We don't want good running backs on the way, right? Yes. I loving this is this is the year of the running back so far
Oh god, it's just it's just said that out loud. Sorry. It's just stash stash these guys
You know, it's we're in November. So stash these guys
For as as much as you are able to And if something happens, then you're okay.
And if you have a lot of fab left,
don't spend it on guys that you don't really feel you need.
You wanna get to the playoffs and there's a handcuff,
this happens all the time.
There's a handcuff running back available
that we think is gonna be really good in a given week.
You wanna be able to outbid everybody.
And also, if you have,
I have the tendency to overspend a little bit.
You gotta get to the playoffs, right?
But you get to the playoffs and you've got $3 in fab
and someone who's been in first place all week
has $50 in fab.
Every single waiver wire player that you want,
the other guy or girl could get.
So right now, like plan for the future
if you know you're making the playoffs,
keep your fab and wait for a week
where there's actually someone that you really, really want.
I don't think this is the week.
Maybe the best advice of all on the show,
it comes an hour in.
What you said earlier, you said, you know, don't.
Yeah, right, right.
Yeah.
You said maybe sit out the waiver wire this week, right?
If you don't need it.
You could.
Have we gotten to the receivers?
Can we talk about the receivers that are out there?
What do you want to hear?
What do you want to say about the receivers that we have? Well, Romo Dunze is out there in a little less than 40% of leagues. He had a good game. And I
wonder if the Bears are trying to get him going a little bit more. With Keenan Allen,
it's worked out in one game and we love DJ Moore. We want to see DJ Moore succeed.
I wonder if a Dunze could be the one that just kind of has that connection with Caleb
moving forward and he finishes his rookie year strong. That's somebody I'd be interested in
putting on my bench right now. Okay. So we've talked about Quinton Johnston, Xavier Liggett,
the Browns wide receivers. I'm putting him behind. He would be my number four player to add this week.
And then you've got DiMario Douglas, DeMarcus Robinson, who only had three targets in the
game that Puka played.
He had nine targets last week, but he's got four touchdowns in the last two games.
Parker Washington, I mentioned, got Minnesota and Detroit coming up.
Minnesota allows the sixth most receiving yards to slot wide receivers.
Detroit allows the most wide receivers to most yards to slot wide receivers,
sorry if I said that wrong earlier,
by 250 over the next worst team.
It's unbelievable how bad Detroit's been
against slot receivers.
It could just be a competition thing,
but that's eye opening.
So that's Parker Washington over the next two weeks.
There's Elijah Moore, still got nine targets last week.
He's 23% rostered, he's going on a buy. Jalen McMillan. Look, Jalen McMillan, if he plays against San Francisco,
he had seven and eight targets the previous two games. He didn't do much with it, but
he still could be their number one receiver. And then Nick Westbrook-Akine. Jalen Tolbert
could be a number one receiver. Brandon Cooks, I guess we should probably mention too, because
he's probably eligible to come back soon.
Oh, great.
If you think about him.
Cedric Wilson and the rest of the Saints, Ricky Pearsall,
Ray McCloud, if Drake London,
Ray McCloud already plays almost every snap
because they're always in three receiver sets,
but obviously a lot of targets freed up
if London misses time.
And Noah Brown for the commander,
six to eight targets in three of his last four games,
including that Hail Mary catch.
Your thoughts on Wondell Robinson,
58% rostered against Carolina this week.
I think he's droppable,
but it depends on what you're looking at.
Darius Leighton's injury may help,
because Leighton's seen a little spike
in targets the last two weeks.
Is he officially in the concussion protocol?
He suffered a concussion, I don't know if he was ruled out with a concussion.
I don't know if he's in the crush broke.
I assume so.
I can't imagine.
No, I'm sorry.
I didn't know he was ruled out happened really late in the game.
So that's a pile of those for that.
Yes.
And Wendell had a touchdown called back last week.
Yeah, a bad call.
It should have been a touchdown.
tight ends.
You got Zach Ertz and Jamie kind of made the case for Colcomet, but Ertz in shallow leagues
and then you got Gesucchi.
Gesucchi is the prize this week.
But Hunter Henry, man, eight targets last week.
We like him with Drake May.
Bears haven't been great against tight ends lately.
Yeah.
And he's the best long-term tight end because Gesucchi could turn to Gesucchi when Higgins
comes back.
And Taysom Hill, I don't know if we can count on him to be
a lot of target volume,
certainly five targets from week to week.
That feels like the floor for Hunter Henry.
And he's been good with Drake May.
So if you need a tight end rest of season somehow,
Hunter Henry is who you'd get.
Oh, do we get another trade?
Well, we look at that.
Was I the only one during the Bengals game on Sunday going, can you please stop stop
throwing to the other tight ends and throw it to Mike Gassicki?
It took a while for a Gassicki to pay off.
They paid off.
I mean, look, you know, to Dave's point, he's right.
We're not going to trust Gassicki once T Higgins comes back.
Eric All's injury does open up some more opportunities for him, even small, but some more opportunities
for him. So he, but some more opportunities for him.
So he may not produce like this.
He's most likely not going to, but we could be, uh, we could be getting some still better
production than what we were getting when Higgins was healthy.
Yeah.
But you also had Sample and Hudson getting, I think six targets, which was weird and all
getting, or I think they had seven targets.
All right.
Taysom Hill.
Taysom Hill is really interesting.
He gets Atlanta and you really shouldn't look at
how Atlanta is against tight ends necessarily.
Look at how they are against running backs.
But we know Taysom Hill's role.
And John New Smith has six to eight targets
in four straight games.
The Rams are really bad against tight ends.
So are the Raiders.
That's his next two matchups.
So John New Smith needs to be taken seriously here.
And Jutatavian Sanders,
Theo Johnson going head to head to rookie tight ends.
See, you know, I think if you have them in dynasty, certainly you're pretty happy with
the potential future for Sanders and Theo Johnson.
I guess I just throw one more name out and it'd be Grant Calcutter.
If you're in a deep league, you have eight fantasy points,
two straight weeks with eight to nine
fantasy points and gets the Cowboys this week.
Obviously it depends on Dallas Goddard, the lions, the giants and the Falcons are the
three teams that Jamie listed as defense, as DST streamers, Chris Bodwell, Cameron Dicker,
Chris Boswell, Cameron Dicker and Blake Groupie are the kickers. That's it. Have a great
day everybody. We'll see you at 1 PM Eastern on CBS Sports Network for some more waiver wire reaction
and some buy lows and sell highs. And of course, who has more? We'll be back tomorrow on our podcast
on FSDTCF.
