This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
No, I can't.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
This is going to go the distance.
Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
Oh, what's going on, everybody?
This is going to be a fun show, and this is going to be a long afternoon or night of making waiver claims.
Welcome to Fantasy Football Today, presented by BetMGM, the sportsbook born in Vegas.
I got to say, I've been doing this.
This is, I think, year 16.
This is the best week of the waiver wire I've ever seen in 16 years.
No, it's not, but it's good.
It's very good.
Best one of the season.
Best one of the season.
I was about to say, best one of the season for sure.
You know, because you got guys who are available in so many leagues.
Like Juju is barely rostered, you know?
And Tracy is pretty available in Tank Bigsby.
So it's pretty exciting stuff.
And we have four teams on by.
We have the Chiefs, the Vikings, the Dolphins, and the Rams.
Chiefs, Vikings, Dolphins, and Rams, they're on a by.
So, yeah, do you feel like it looks exciting, but with the top guys,
who we'll talk about in a second, could it be a total, you know,
where's sad trombone?
Could it be a big setup?
Yes.
Yeah.
Could be a fool-jew week.
Is that what you're asking?
Really, mostly at the running back spot. The receivers, you know, it's the Colts that could be the fooled you week. Is that what you're asking? Really? Mostly at the running back spot.
The receivers, you know, it's the Colts that could be the fooled you guys
just because if Richardson comes back, then it's hard to say,
oh, my God, I'm excited to start Josh Downs.
I think you can still make a case to start him.
But in the case of Flacco, that just makes the whole passing game,
like even Alec Pierce becomes interesting by comparison.
So, yes,
there,
there's definitely the potential of the running backs ruining your,
your excitement of the,
of the waiver wire.
Cause if Singletary comes back to her,
it's Tracy.
And if ETN is healthy,
then Bigsby may not be this good.
He could still be the best running back in Jacksonville,
but he may not be this good.
So yes,
the,
but the receivers,
I mean,
look,
there there's,
there's,
there's a handful of guys that, that could, you can make a case could be starters for this week and beyond.
Did you have a hard time making your top three for the week?
Um, the only guy I have a hard time with really is Juju because they're on a buy.
Right.
And so, you know, like I'm, I'm just finishing up writing the receivers now.
And as I wrote for Smith Schuster, if you don't need anybody for this week, he should
be the number one player to have.
Like he he's got that much potential.
Agreed.
But if you need somebody for this week, then you clearly can't prioritize him because they're,
they're not playing.
So, um, you want to get them, you want to make sure you can roster them, but, uh, at
what expense, you know, if you're, if you're struggling right now struggling right now going into week six well i that's definitely a topic to discuss i just want to make sure adam
you keep this same energy when we talk about the quarterbacks and the tight ends because
i don't know if there's good uh well no i mean there's actually guys i yeah there are guys sure
but it's not as exciting as running back and wide receiver i mean daniel jones is better than
patrick mahomes i thinkousins is, you know,
he's 63% rostered.
I would agree with you. It's not as exciting.
And the problem with the Titans, I don't know
if you care, but with the Colts anyway,
is that they are facing the Titans
this week, and then the Dolphins.
They've had good passes. Joe Flacco don't care who he's facing.
He doesn't. I mean, they were pretty good against the Steelers,
and the Dolphins are in two weeks,
and they just lost Javon Holland. But okay. Anyway, why don't we put it put it on paper here? And if you want to expand your top five this week instead of your top three, you know, you can do that.
In fact, why don't we do that, Jamie? Top. Oh, my gosh. Top. They're going crazy on FFT. Top five waiver wire priorities this week so for those of you who watch us on uh cbs sports hq on tuesdays uh dave and i do a
waiver wire segment where uh we have our fancy wall and it's usually the top five anyway um you
see that in the in the email that i send anyway adam's yeah i know but it's uh it's two running
backs and three receivers it's tank bigsby and tyrone tracy and then it's uh wandell robinson
who somehow still makes the cut for us uh which means he's probably a little bit more available on some other sites. Uh, Wanda Robinson, Josh downs,
and you just miss Schuster. And that's not necessarily the order, uh, for the receivers.
Because again, if you don't need to pick up Wanda for whatever reason, I don't know why,
but if you don't need to, um, and you don't need to pick up Josh downs because you're concerned
about Flacco sitting and Richardson coming back. Like if you tell me right now, Richardson starting,
I would take Juju over Josh sounds regardless.
And you just have to understand that Juju is not playing for you for one
week.
So you might give you,
you know,
if you need points,
he's not gonna help you.
I just want to give a real quick stat on Wandale.
Robinson is facing the Bengals and Wandale's had eight or more targets in
four or five games.
So far this season,
there have been seven wide receivers who have had six or more targets, just six or more targets in four of five games. So far this season, there have been seven wide receivers
who have had six or more targets,
just six or more targets against the Bengals.
And six of those seven have scored at least 15.8 PPR fantasy points.
Five of them have scored.
So the Giants actually,
and that's the other really exciting thing about the waiver wire,
schedules could be a little bit tricky to truly know,
to really figure out only five games in, right?
But the Giants have a really good schedule coming up.
Dalton Schultz and Kate Otten have good schedules coming up.
The Jaguars have, well, Tank Bigsby.
The Bears are a really good defense, but their run defense actually stinks.
So that's good for Tank Bigsby.
Kirk Cousins has a good schedule coming up well at least this week
and then maybe seattle they've been you know bad against decent quarterbacks so that's another oh
and then there's like the bears if anyone's available there the bears have an amazing
schedule coming up caleb williams might be available in some 10 team super flex leagues
and other leagues uh but they took a lot of heat for that one. Yeah, they have the best.
Well, I didn't really explain it well,
but they have the best schedule coming up,
maybe of any team, the Chicago Bears,
even though they do have a bye in week seven.
All right, so for Jamie, it was Bigsby and Tracy,
Wandale, Josh Downs, and Juju Smith-Schuster,
and Juju maybe being the most enticing,
depending on what your needs are for week six.
Dave, how about you?
Your top five.
Same names, different order.
Bigsby is number one.
Tyrone Tracy is number two.
I put Juju at the top of the list for wide receivers.
I know he's not playing in week six.
I know Rushie Rice isn't playing anytime soon.
And this is what I was kind of getting at with Juju Smith-Schuster last week.
And now everybody can go and get them, 93% available.
I think wide receiver is deep enough where you can make Juju the priority,
even if you need a wide receiver this week and you can go back to that well
and pick out another wide receiver with your second go around third,
go around in waivers.
Uh,
Wandale is fourth and then Josh Downs is fifth.
You know,
the one thing that Jalen Tolbert is sixth.
I I'm putting up six. Uh, yeah, Tolbert Tolbert deserves. He was, he was there before Monday night. is fourth and then josh downs is fifth you know the one thing that jalen tolbert is sixth i'm
putting up six uh yeah tolbert tolbert deserves he was he was there before monday night um for
my nice game um the one thing just to keep in mind with juju is if we start to see some trades
happen at the receiver market you know adams gets traded and then the chiefs feel like they have to
jump in and get someone then you may be wasting fab on Juju because they don't play for two weeks.
So they have time to sort of reevaluate themselves,
reevaluate the market.
They probably look at it and say,
we don't need to overspend for a wide receiver.
But if Adams goes and the Browns make it known to the league,
Amari Cooper is available.
And Darius Slayton, let's just say the Giants are,
hey, look, we got this shiny new toy here.
Let's maximize his value because Malik Nabors is going to come back.
You get the point.
Like the receiver market starts to become a little bit more bountiful.
And the Chiefs look at it and say, okay, yeah, Juju was good.
But can we rely on him to get us to where we need to get to
without Rice being there?
So just something to keep in mind.
I don't know if it happens in the next two weeks.
I don't know if it's something that they even do at all.
But never know.
They've traded for a wide receiver each of the last
two years. Yeah, that's true.
Canarius Tony and Meikle Hardman.
So, right, there aren't that many wide
receivers that are really going to be an impact.
They're probably, almost certainly, not going
to trade for Devontae Adams because they would be surprised
if the Raiders gave
Devontae Adams to a division rival. But there was that
report I saw that they're willing to overpay
for him. So we'll see how true
that is.
So yeah, I just want to talk about these guys
a little bit more here. First of all,
I don't think we said it. We said it before
the show. I don't know if we said it on the show, but
Travis Etienne had a
shoulder injury, which is why he barely
played in the second half. In the first half, they both, Tank Bigsby and Travis Etienne, a shoulder injury, which is why he barely played in the second half. In the first
half, they both, Tank Bigsby and Travis
Etienne, had four carries.
The
shoulder injury is something that
popped up on the injury report
or popped up during a game.
Was it last week or was it two weeks ago when they were talking?
It was two weeks ago when he
was standing on the sideline and
Bigsby went off
for seven carries and 90 yards against the texans right and then there was talk coming into the week
about okay he deserves more work like we spent a lot of time on our sunday morning show uh todd
firman was talking about that he's our you know gambling guy about how the market was you know
going up and the prop market was going up for bigsby. And Pete Presco obviously is very tied into that team was saying,
expect more work for him.
And then you saw it.
And then as Dave alluded to, you know,
Peterson said yesterday that the shoulder injury was part of the reason why
they didn't want to overwork him or make it worse, whatever he said in,
in that game.
But Pete's point prior to the game was they almost want to make ETN more of a
third down back and bigs me more of the first and second down guy.
And how do you overlook that after what just happened?
ETN had a six catch game.
Bigsby just second week in a row look dominant.
So do they continue this pattern against the bears,
especially,
you know,
very competitive game against the Texans winning a game against the,
the Colts.
Like, why would you go away from that formula?
So I'm curious to see what they do.
I don't think Etienne had a single catch on third down.
No, he didn't even have a target on third down.
All of his catches were on first and second down.
They still used Dearness Johnson.
They used all of them on third down.
But, yeah, okay, so we're putting it out there.
These guys are not slam dunks necessarily.
Is Juju, though, do you think kind of safe,
aside from a trade for Amari Cooper or Devante Adams or something?
Do you think Juju, who, let's go back to what he was a few years ago
with the Chiefs before his concussion.
Off the top of my head, I think he was something like wide receiver 20 per game.
He was basically a monster.
He was building towards something like in the last three games before the concussion.
He got off to a slow start.
I think he had an ankle injury, if I'm not mistaken, in camp.
And then a little sluggish start.
Remember, it takes a while to pick up this Chiefs offense,
and he finally started to get going.
I know Heath was talking about that a lot.
And then the concussions then came back at the end of the season,
had a couple of decent performances, and here we are again.
So, look, knows the system, knows Mahomes.
Mahomes, trust him.
He's one of the first guys Mahomes mentioned when Rice was hurt last week.
He said Juju.
He said Justin Watson.
He said Noah Gray.
I mean, you look at it.
My biggest concern was when you want to say he dropped the touchdown, but the touchdown goes off his hands and intercept in the end zone uh
was that it for him then he comes back he has a 50 yard catch so um it it looks great it really
looks great and i hope it's it's sustainable you know the the one thing is is like how much fab do
you spend on someone who may or may not be this good moving forward?
Like,
do we,
are we chasing Isaiah likely his best game?
Are we chasing Juju Smith?
Schuster's best game?
You know,
we we've,
we've unfortunately fallen to this a lot as what we do in our position and
what people do when they spend their fab.
Like you don't want to go crazy for someone who may not be sustainable.
The path looks open for him to keep doing great things.
Hopefully it's cool. To what I said earlier,
there are so many interesting stash candidates
at wide receiver that I don't think you have to.
He might be the best of the bunch,
but I don't think you have to go gaga with the fab.
Okay.
Well, do you think he'll be better than Xavier Worthy?
Do you think Juju will be the best chiefs receiver
rest of season?
Wide receiver.
It feels like it for the
interim. Again,
rookie receivers. Look what happened to Rashi Rice last year.
It took him some time before he
was this good.
He was doing it not the same way
he was doing it this year. He was doing it mostly from a touchdown
perspective. At some point,
I'll keep using the same phrase that everybody's using
with the Chiefs. They'll flip the switch.
That will happen with Worthy.
But does it come at the expense of Juju?
That's the thing.
Like, does Juju become a secondary option, or in this case, a third option because of Traps Kelsey? So I don't know if that's necessarily going to happen.
But if Worthy starts to get 7-8 targets consistently, it's hard to expect Juju to keep doing this.
And let's be realistic here.
I know the ball went off of his hands.
Mahomes is not throwing touchdowns.
No.
You know, so in non-PPR, the 100 yards is great.
But if it's a five for 80 day PPR, you'll take that all day long.
Seven catches for 130 yards for Juju.
By the way, Xavier Worthy did have a season high in targets.
He had a season low in average route depth,
barely a season low, but season low,
and a season low in ADOT.
So, you know, without Rasheed Rice,
they use him a little bit differently,
and he did have six targets, which was a season high.
All right, we do have to take a break.
I guess I just want to know what you're expecting. You you know what, we'll take a break and I'll just wrap
up this conversation about Juju, about these five, because these five are big and then there are more,
there are definitely more, but we'll be right back to wrap it up on these guys on FFT.
Did you know that across Ontario, utility damage happens 19 times a day that's over 4222 incidents a year don't let your next dig be
one that causes costly delays or safety risks before you break ground make it a point to request
a locate it's not just the law it's a step to keep your team and community safe visit ontario
one call.ca and avoid unnecessary damages to get the job done right. Data sourced from the ORCGA 2023 Dirt Report.
All right.
Well, usually we do one question for each game.
I'm going to do one question for each of the top five waiver wire priorities.
Okay, so Tank Bigsby.
Do you think he is the best Jaguars running back rest of season?
No.
I think the path is there for him to be the best Jaguars running back rest of
season.
Yeah.
Whether we think so or not,
we know we,
we acknowledge that it's a possibility.
Definitely possible.
Tyron possibility.
The,
the guy that he's competing with for touches apparently has a bad shoulder
and isn't really showing how explosive he once was.
So he's going to need the opportunity to over at Bigsby.
Basically, I think Bigsby will need to make some mistakes or be inefficient and ETN will have to stay healthy.
And if those two things happen, then yeah, ETN is going to blow him away.
But I think there's a real chance that we're starting Bigsby as a number two running back, certainly through the bye weeks, but maybe
rest of the way. Tyrone Tracy, is he the best Giants running back rest of season?
So this one is interesting because what do the Giants do if they fall out of playoff contention?
Because surprisingly they're in playoff contention right now. So do they decide to just go
with the younger player
and give him the chance
to be the full-time guy
because Singletary is not part of their future?
Or do they just try and continue to win games?
It's always a touchy situation
when you have a coaching staff
and a front office that could be fired.
So winning games is important to them.
I would hope,
especially if you're in the Tracy camp,
not in the Singletary camp,
that he's earned a role to whatever capacity he's earned a role.
Whether it's the full-time role, whether it's a part-time role, whether it's the passing downs role, goal line role, he's earned some sort of role because he looked great.
And prior to Singletary hurting his groin, he looked great.
You know, he had two very strong games.
Yeah, he also had a couple of fumbles.
Production-wise, he looked good.
Yeah.
He had two productive games before the stinker where he got hurt.
So I'm hopeful that the Giants look at this and say,
take your time, Devin.
Get 100% healthy, and we can roll with Tracy.
And then fantasy managers benefit as well
because you're getting a guy that could be a number two running back.
Yeah, Tracy, I just want to remind everyone, Tracy did not play on third down it was eric gray they used on third
down uh just don't really think they're going to be using tracy as like an every down back even if
singletary's out all right i just i definitely see we have to acknowledge there's a possibility
that you pick up tyrone tracy and you're dropping him in like three weeks it's definitely possible
i don't like the fact that he wasn't far and away the lead back in Seattle
to start the game.
Eric Gray was that guy.
And then he fumbled.
The goal line in his role got relegated to just third downs,
and I don't even think he had a target after the fumble.
And Tracy is a converted receiver, so there's more that he can do
if the Giants coaching staff likes him enough to do it.
I think what we'll see, though, is when Singletary is back, it could be 50-50 with Singletary
getting a lot of the high value touches.
So Tracy, use him while you can.
He's definitely great.
He's probably going to need to put up another big game or two to really convince that Giants
coaching staff that they can move on from Singletary.
OK, Wandale Robinson.
Nice.
This,
does he feel like the most,
no,
I'd say that's Juju,
but does he feel like the second most predictable one on this list?
Big,
I would say he's more predictable than Juju.
You think so?
Okay.
I guess the followup is like,
are we putting too much faith in the New York giants offense?
If we're making two of our,
I don't,
I don't know if those statements
have to go hand in hand.
You don't have to put faith
in the Giants offense
to put faith in Robinson
because we've seen
a little inconsistencies
from Daniel Jones
in the first five games.
He's been better than anybody expected,
but Wondell's role
has been very consistent.
And so back up a minute
and we're talking about
Devin Singletary and Tyrone Tracy.
This isn't the best running game in the world.
So a lot of it's going to be put on Daniel Jones and the passing game and
the receivers.
And I don't know exactly what the target share is.
I'm going to guess it's probably similar that 65% of the targets were going
to neighbors and Wanda prior to the Seattle game.
I can't imagine it was a big difference between Slayton and Wandale
based on how the game unfolded and the targets that those guys had.
So you're seeing concentrated targets, which is what we love,
and you're seeing a guy who's been extremely productive,
which is what we love.
Three straight games with over 13 PPR points,
two touchdowns now in the season, which is a nice pace for him
given what the expectations were.
So I know this is probably not the popular statement,
but if, if both are available, Wandale and Juju, I'm going to take Wandale.
Is it just because you can use them this week and you can't use Juju or
you're thinking rest of season, it'll be better than Juju.
I'm thinking there's, there's a track record that's been established for five
games.
There's no reason to think that they're going to replace Wanda or at least
bringing somebody to replace Wanda.
And there's still a very talented player behind Juju that at some point
could get going.
True.
It was New York.
We've got a very talented player who is going to continue to soak up
targets.
Not that it's really hurt.
Why?
Wanda has been excellent with neighbors.
He has in full PPR.
I think when you start talking about other formats,
he becomes far less appealing.
And if the running game gets going,
I would get a little bit more worried
about the explosive plays that Robinson can make.
Certainly the target volume has been good for him.
No doubt about it.
And to Adam's point, we're talking about the Giants would it be, would it shock you if three weeks from now we go up, there go
the giants. They're, they're doing what we've known them to do and that's fall apart. And then
on top of all that, we know that Wanda Robinson is a little bit injury prone. He's missed time
with injuries. Um, that's also something that could be an issue. I'm not talking anybody off the ledge of picking up Wanda Robinson,
but I,
I wouldn't add him thinking he's going to be the solution to my receiver
problems.
Rest of the season.
He's a great bandaid right now.
And he might end up being a good number three receiver and full PPR,
but I don't want to overrate them with neighbors coming back with the
running game,
potentially getting better with the giants,
possibly falling apart and with Robinson potentially getting hurt.
Okay.
And then last one's on Josh downs here.
Uh,
just real quick.
Do you,
would you pick him up?
If,
if Anthony Richardson were starting like this week and going forward,
would you,
would he be a big priority for you?
Yes, because what I want to see is what they look like with him
not coming back the first game from an extended absence with an ankle injury.
That's the only sample size we have, and it was against the Bears,
which is a tough matchup.
So what can Richardson healthy, Downs healthy look like?
Because that's – I know I was saying this.
I'm pretty sure Dave was too.
Downs was a big piece of Richardson and the puzzle, healthy look like? Because that's, I know I was saying this, I'm pretty sure Dave was too. Like,
you know, downs was a big piece of Richardson and the puzzle, you know, just another guy who can give him some easy targets and easy opportunities, open some things up for Michael Pittman as well.
And clearly Flacco has unlocked the potential of this passing game. It's a big difference. You
know, you, you see the, the upside of what Pittman was a year ago with Gardner. You see the upside of
what downs is clearly, you know, 17 targets in his last two games,
70 catches last year.
Um, he's, he's been a star, so he, he's not going to do this with Richardson, but can
he be, you know, five for 70?
I think that's realistic.
Can he score every couple of games?
I think that's realistic, you know?
So, uh, I would, I would still have interest in him.
It'd be lower, but I was still interested for sure.
I remember sharing this earlier that downs and Richardson are tight.
They are real good pals.
They work out together off the field and he's such an easy short area target.
Who's a good route runner who can make plays after the catch.
Uh, it wouldn't surprise me in the least.
If this was the top guy in terms of target share for the Colts for the rest of the season,
assuming Richardson is the starter, even if Richardson the Colts for the rest of the season, assuming Richardson is
the starter, even if Richardson's the starter the rest of the season. I do fear the big games for
Taylor and Richardson on the ground, and they only throw like 18 times, and it leaves downs
with four for 40 or something like that. But I put him right next to Wandale as far as
short area targets, guys that can make an impact more so in
ppr than half and non-ppr but i i wonder if he's got maybe just a little bit more staying power
downs does over wandale robinson right now i have robinson over downs in my waiver ranking so when
i go to set waivers i am going to put robinson first but they are very very close okay so let's
talk about just real quick schedules.
I talked about schedules.
Here are some teams
that have good schedules
coming up,
at least on paper.
The Bears,
the Vikings,
the Falcons,
excuse me,
I put Kirk Cousins
on the Vikings,
the Falcons,
the Giants,
honestly,
Cincinnati,
Philadelphia,
Pittsburgh,
Washington,
Carolina,
for their next five games
are really good.
The Jaguars,
I would say, at least for Tank Bigsby,
his next two matchups are very favorable.
Same with Tyrone Tracy.
He's got good matchups coming up.
I mentioned Dalton Schultz and Kate Otten.
They have good matchups coming up.
Bad schedules.
Two teams kind of stood out to me.
The Jets have Buffalo, Pittsburgh at New England and Houston
in their next four games.
And the Colts, we keep talking about Josh Downs.
You'll hear about Joe Flacco at Tennessee,
home against Miami at Houston at Minnesota.
The Colts schedule is not great right now.
News and notes.
Aaron Rodgers should be fine.
Las Vegas is contemplating a quarterback change to Aiden O'Connell.
Anthony Richardson is going to be the starter when healthy,
according to Shane Steichen.
The Patriots could make a change at quarterback.
Derek Carr last night left with an oblique injury.
Jake Hainer came in.
They've got Tampa Bay this week, so big game for them,
and they'd love to have Derek Carr.
Josh Allen seems like he's fine.
That was strange the way he hit his head.
We'll see.
The Browns are sticking with Deshaun Watson,
and the Panthers are sticking with Andy Dalton.
Running back.
So Brian Robinson is still dealing with this knee injury.
He was on the injury report.
He ended up playing.
He barely got any work, but he scored two touchdowns.
But Brian Robinson with Carolina this week, right?
No, no, no, no.
Sorry. Brian Robinson has the Ravens this week. Yeah, the Ravens. Carolina after this week, right? No, no, no, no. Sorry.
Brian Robinson has the Ravens this week.
Yeah, the Ravens.
Well, Carolina after this week.
Carolina after, yes.
And then Chicago after that.
And then the Giants after that.
Big week for the Commanders at Baltimore.
Huge game.
Ramondre Stevenson has a leg injury, but he said it's no big deal.
We talked about Travis Etienne's shoulder.
Joe Mixon may not play this week.
They don't sound super optimistic about Joe Mixon,
so be prepared.
Dario Gumbawale just was the number one running back, period.
And he's got a great matchup against the Patriots.
Would you call it a great matchup?
At least a favorable matchup.
It's definitely a favorable matchup.
The only concern would be is that,
is this a run game for the Texans?
And I know I'm saying this despite the fact that Ogunbowale had 15 carries to Akers 9.
But I would imagine if they need a more physical running back,
they're running Akers as opposed to running Ogunbowale.
But I still have more interest in Ogunbowale.
I think just based on the role in the passing games, two weeks in a row,
you heard me saying it all last week, Buffalo can't defend pass-catching running backs.
Go pick him up, start him if you need him and and he was good uh i think it's 14
plus ppr points in back-to-back weeks without mixing there so he's my favorite texans running
back until mix and come back now the other part of this though is pierce can return yeah but i
still think ogumbo ali in the passing game is not his role is not changing and right and nico's nico's week to week uh zach moss
appears to have dodged a bullet with a with a serious ankle injury there doesn't look like
it's gonna be that bad aaron jones gonna have an mri on his hip and hopefully he's back after the
wide receiver you can drop rushy rice he is likely out for the season uh cooper cup if you've got ir
spots you can that's true yeah cooper Cooper Cup could be back after the bye,
but it is not a guarantee.
So that would be the Raiders in week seven for Cup.
Both Eagles wide receivers should play this week.
Yay!
Nico Collins week to week with the hamstring.
Matt LaFleur looks like,
yeah, he said he was hopeful for Romeo Dobbs.
Looks like Romeo Dobbs could be playing this week
against the Cardinals.
And Xavier Ligette says he expects to play
this upcoming week against the Falcons.
So that's a guy who's still got some appeal,
51% rostered, I believe.
A tight end, you know, David Njoku,
he came back and he hurt his knee.
So I could be another absence for Njoku.
But Evan Ingram will likely play this week.
And I won't bore you with the offensive line injuries,
but Will Hernandez for the Cardinals is out for the season that's two starting offensive linemen right tackle and a
guard right tackle and right guard I believe who are either out for the season or for extended
periods of time Bengals are going to be I think on their third string right tackle Colts have a
couple of offensive line injuries Broncos offensive line injuries Panthers offensive line injuries
and let's talk about fab.
All right.
Usually I talk about fab a lot earlier in the show.
Sorry about that.
But wait, before I do that,
I have to remind you,
if you haven't signed up for BetMGM yet,
let's do it.
All right.
Get on that BetMGM app
and use the bonus code fantasy
and you're going to get up to a $1,500 first bet offer
on your first wager with BetMGM. So here's how it works. You
download the BetMGM app. You sign up using the bonus code FANTASY. Deposit at least $10 and
place your first wager on any game, and you'll receive up to $1,500 in bonus bets if your bet
loses. Just make sure you use the bonus code FANTASY when you sign up. By the way, if you watched our show
on CBS Sports Network on Friday, we gave you
five player props, and we went three and two.
Not bad. Four and one would have been
nice, but, you know,
Gino Smith threw for too many yards.
What was the other one we lost?
Josh, no? Cooper?
Deontay Johnson. Deontay Johnson, yeah.
Alright, how much fab
are we talking about here for these guys, Dave Richard?
For the wide receivers, I wouldn't go higher than like 20% to 25% for any of them.
And I think that's particularly aggressive.
We haven't even scratched the surface on how many wide receivers there are
to add off the waiver wire this week.
But the running backs are where it's at.
And I think if you're desperate for a running back at this point in the year,
I think you got to do what you got to do and go minimum 30% on Bigsby and Tracy.
And if you need to go 40, 50%, I don't mind doing that either.
We're talking about two running backs that showed us a lot.
In the case of Bigsby, it's been two straight weeks.
His metrics are actually insane over the last two games.
I'd love to tell you guys about him.
I'll,
I'll give you a teaser.
His avoided tackle rate in the last two weeks is 60%.
It's that's unheard of for a running back.
And that's far and away.
Number one in the league.
Okay.
So 20% for the receivers,
you said 30 or more for the running 20 or 25 for the receivers,
30 to like, uh, maybe all, I don't, I don't know what the situation is. You might be desperate.
You might have ETN and you just want to make sure that you've got a Jaguars running back.
If you, if you want to plop that down 50%, I say do it. Okay. So let's talk about other names here.
We haven't really talked about the quarterbacks yet. Top three at each position.
Jamie, who are the quarterbacks to target?
You mentioned Kirk Cousins.
I was surprised that his roster percentage is in the low 60s.
So coming off a 500-yard game matchup against the Panthers this week,
it's set up for him to hopefully continue what he just started to look like.
Forget about the production, but he started to look better,
and he's talking about feeling better.
So he's the number one quarterback
to add top 10 guy for this week.
And then it gets interesting
because Daniel Jones
has been a very good fantasy quarterback.
Three of his last four games
over 22 fantasy points
and good matchup this week
against the Bengals.
They just lost to safety in Dax Hill.
So we'll see how the secondary performs.
Hopefully Malik Nabors is back.
You know what that means to this offense. So he's a borderline number one quarterback for this week.
And then Joe Flacco is still available in over 80% of leagues. You know, you're talking about
a guy that has now six straight or five, five straight games of 300 yards passing, going back
to last season and the regular season and multiple touchdowns in those five starts.
So when he's on the field, he's been great. It's a brutal matchup. The Titans secondary has been
good, but if you need a quarterback, why would you not trust Joe Flacco at this point? He's not
a top 12 guy for me, but I still would not bet against him if you need him. So those are the
top three quarterbacks. And I assume you're thinking that neighbors is going to play this week.
I'm anticipating it. The fact that he was in the early stages of the concussion protocol last week,
I would hope that he gets through it this week. Clearly something you have to keep an eye on,
but did they, did Daniel Jones actually miss him? I mean, the Darius Layton stepped up and
played fantastic. So just based on the matchup, I don't think Daniel Jones needs Malik neighbors
to crack 20 fantasy points.
I think if he has neighbors,
you're talking about a guy
that could be north of 25
in this matchup.
He would need him
if the matchup were difficult,
but it's Cincinnati.
Should be a good matchup for him.
Yeah, I can't.
I mean, they just made
Lamar Jackson look like an MVP.
I don't think I said this
on the show.
I was talking to some buddies last night,
and we were just talking about football.
But just since we are putting some stock in the Giants this week,
I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a team that has improved more on the offensive line
from last year than the Giants.
It is really the big story that we never talk about.
But their offensive line is actually borderline good, which is a weird thing to say it's been like 15 years it seems since you
could say that about the giants but it's it's just it's making a huge difference all right
it's a lot to look at and say that this giants right now are just playing very well
playing well yeah i mean they didn't play that well against the Cowboys.
They played very well last week, but yeah.
Okay, let's talk about the Giants for those.
Dave, the running backs, who are the top three running backs to get?
Bigsby, one.
Tracy, two.
I've got Ty Chandler, third.
He's available in 50% of leagues.
He's on bye.
We don't know what's going to happen with Aaron Jones and his hip MRI.
If you need a guy for this week, though,
Daria Gumbawale makes sense,
and it's because of what he's done the past couple of weeks.
Jamie talked about it.
Played two-thirds of the snaps for Houston.
Great matchup this week where he might be able to get,
goodness, man, close to 20 touches potentially.
I just want, before I forget,
if you're in a CBS league and you go to your,
your player stats page to pick up free agents, you're going to be looking at the projections
for the week. You're not going to see Ty Chandler. You're not going to see Juju Smith-Schuster.
These guys are on by, you can just, you know, remember it and look for those guys. But sometimes
I forget, you know, I've, especially if you have multiple leagues,
you can change those projections
to rest of season projections.
That might help you.
What I like to do is I do the weekly projections
and I look at each position, find who I want.
And then I'll change, I'll go to like the flex
and I'll change to rest of season projections.
And then I'll go to the most rostered list,
the players, roster trends, most rostered, free agents, and then I'll look.
So just keep in mind, if you're just looking at weekly projections, you are not going to see
Tua Tungabailoa. You're not going to see Juju. You're not going to see Chandler. There are some
good players who are on by this week that might be available. Can I give you another way to do it,
too? Yeah. Go to, instead of player stats, go to roster trends. Yeah, I said that, yeah.
But you said by sort by most
rostered yeah yeah okay sorry no it's okay it's not like i don't do that to you uh bigsby tyrone
tracy ty chandler daria gumbawale and you might get another week of trey sermon it's a brutal
matchup for him uh but that could be someone that who how what's his roster percentage trey
sermons like three sermons available in 29 of okay. I thought it was a little bit more. Tajay Spears,
his next two opponents,
Tajay Spears, are
bottom five in receiving yards per
game allowed to running backs, as in they give up
the most. That'd be the Colts and the
Bills. That's been kind of his role.
So he's available. It's really
not that bad if you're desperate this week.
Okay, Jamie, wide receivers.
So can you give us three different names other than Juju, Wandale, and Downs? Not that bad if you're desperate this week. Okay, Jamie, wide receivers.
So can you give us three different names other than Juju, Wandale, and Downs?
Sure.
Jalen Tolbert.
I mean, he's gotten 13 PPR points or more
in three of his last four.
You know Brandon Cooks is going to be out
for at least the next three games, if not longer.
So coming off a game with 10 targets,
seven catches, 87 yards, and a touchdown,
Dak Prescott's leaning on him.
Fantasy manager should buy in as well.
Then it's kind of all over the place.
It kind of depends on what you need or if you're looking long-term.
So the next three guys I have right now after Tolbert,
the next two guys would be DeAndre Hopkins and Romeo Dobbs.
Hopkins has a great matchup against the Colts.
I'm hoping that Will Levis is going to be healthy,
but I don't think it really matters because Mason Rudolph I don't think
is necessarily a huge step down from Will Levis based on what
Levis has shown us, but the matchup is just fantastic.
So Hopkins 63% rostered.
I would hope a week off, get that knee in another week healthier.
He could be potentially number three receiver for you.
Romeo Dobbs is after him.
I felt like Jordan Love was missing a little bit more of a reliable target
because Wicks was dropping the ball all over the place.
Seven targets and looked awful.
Jaden Reed had the big cash down the field, but he didn't exactly have his best game.
And it took Tucker Kraft making a couple of big plays toward the end to save Jordan Love.
Romeo Dobbs has kind of been like that safety factor for him.
And I wonder if he'll be motivated now that Matt LaFleur will give him his opportunity
back.
All right.
So Tolbert, Hopkins, Dobbs, those are some some options for you there and tight end
Dave double check to see if you can find Tucker Kraft or Evan Engram they're going to be available
only in like 10 team leagues but Kraft 23% available Evan Engram 31% available and here we
go tight ends if you're streaming if you need a bi-week replacement, you start with Cade Otten. 63% available.
Has been pretty decent for PPR over the last three weeks. Week 5
is worst. I think he was worth like 7 PPR points, but he's starting
to get some target volume in that Tampa Bay offense.
Yeah, Tampa Bay offense, and they're taking on the Saints, and you saw what the tight ends for Kansas City
did on Monday.
Taysom Hill's after that.
Hopefully he plays in that game against Tampa Bay.
And then it's Dalton Schultz, Tyler Conklin.
Maybe I'm missing a guy, but that's what's out there at tight end.
Honestly, I had forgotten about Taysom Hill.
He's at 61% available.
I would honestly say he's as likely to score a touchdown
as maybe any tight end out there.
Right.
He may be their quarterback.
Yeah, exactly.
Wow.
Now, hold on.
I don't think that happens, but if that happens, you got to put him at the top of the list.
The only thing to just keep in mind is he's got cracked ribs.
What's the likelihood of him playing?
Yeah.
All right. Okay. The only thing to just keep in mind is like, he's got cracked ribs. Like what's the likelihood of him playing? Yeah.
All right.
Okay. So let's get the quarterback idea out of our head for now.
Cause that probably is a little too far fetched.
And I like what Ben says in the chat.
He says the touch,
the feel Kate.
Yeah.
Just keep in mind with Otten that,
uh,
McMillan and Palmer could be coming back.
And so he's benefited with those two guys battling injuries the last two
weeks.
That's true.
Yeah.
Uh,
okay.
And DSTs,
JMA,
what do we got?
We have the Eagles coming off of their bye week.
We have the Texans taking on the Patriots.
We have the Buccaneers now taking on who knows who's going to play quarterback for the Saints.
And the Chargers against the Broncos,
that's going to be a low-scoring game.
And the Falcons against Andy Dalton.
Hmm.
I think I like the Chargers
the best. You said the
Eagles? Their defense is terrible. They're playing
Cleveland, right? They're playing Deshaun Watson.
Right. And they're coming off of a bye.
I would bet that they rebound
defensively. God, Cleveland's
so bad. 15
fantasy points or more to each of the past three
DSTs they faced, including
Washington in week five and Las Vegas in week four.
Okay.
How bad could Philadelphia be?
They could be bad.
Well, any chance Nick Chubb's playing this week?
There certainly is.
There is an outside chance.
Chargers have kind of a solid defense, that's why,
and they're facing Denver.
And they're getting Derwin James and Bosa back, hopefully.
All right.
And who are the kickers to get?
By the way, Blake Ruppe, you kind of cost me a week.
You stink.
But who are the kickers to get?
Chase McLaughlin gets New Orleans.
He's been very consistent.
Jake Elliott against the Browns.
They give up a lot of points to kickers.
Austin Siebert's been very good with the offense there for Washington.
Cameron Dicker coming off his bye.
We know he's been very good.
And Greg Joseph has been amazing for the Giants.
Yeah.
Juggernauts.
Okay, we'll take a break.
When we come back, shallow leagues, deep leagues.
We'll recap Monday Night Football
and give you even more names on the waiver board
because we haven't really talked about guys like Caleb Williams
and who are some of the other shallow...
Oh, so many shallow league wide receivers to get
Darnell Mooney
yeah
let me ask before we go to break if Darnell Mooney is available
is he the number one player to add
ahead of Bigsby
there you go
probably we'll be right back
on fantasy football today
okay so just before break
Jamie said that Darnell Mooney would be the
number one guy to get if he's available.
Dave said probably.
What about TJ Hawkinson?
He would not be the number one guy to get, but he would be obviously ahead of all the tight ends that are out there and potentially top five.
Just keep in mind, he's not guaranteed to return next week even though they're off their buy.
They said they may use all three weeks to get him healthy. Now that does not specify,
and I don't know, Dave, maybe you know the rule. Does the three-week window include the buy?
So it was really four-week window and three weeks of active.
I would have to look into that.
Because they are practicing during their buy week. So that's,
I would assume technically considered part of the three-week window.
But if they're going to use all three weeks, and at this point, why wouldn't you?
It's a good question.
We may not see him until, you know, week nine.
Okay.
All right, Jamie, who are the shallow league guys to get?
You mentioned Darnell Mooney.
I'll start with the receivers because there's a lot of interesting names there that can help you.
Mooney's my favorite.
But you also have Calvin Ridley,
hopefully takes advantage of this matchup with the Colts.
Cortland Sutton coming off a bad game, but we know he's been very consistent.
Jacoby Myers, the best true number one wide receiver against the Broncos
so far this season.
Now, Chris Godwin had a better game than him,
and you can consider Godwin obviously a number one fantasy receiver at this point,
but we know Mike Evans is the number one receiver for the Bucs. So that's why, uh, Myers best game against Patrick Sertan's led secondary so far this year.
Uh, two bears that you can make a case could either be dropped or added, uh,
but a great matchup against Jacksonville, as you alluded to,
and then they come off their buy, they get Washington.
So if you want to try and hold them, see what they do against the Jaguars,
maybe hold them through their bye week.
But Keenan Allen, Romo Dunz, they clearly not producing at high level,
but available in just about 25 to 30% of leagues, depending on which one you're looking at.
And Ladd McConkie, I know he's going to have a tough matchup against the Broncos. I'm going to
guess Quinton Johnson has the more tougher matchup against Sertan. So McConkie's two touchdowns so
far in the season and should continue to build moving forward. Um, the tight ends, you mentioned
Hawkinson, you mentioned Ingram.
I put Kyle Pitts, I think I put Kyle Pitts on here.
He's like 87% roster.
Some people were dropping him, understandably so.
Why?
But you want to go back and get him if he's available.
Who else?
Oh, I'm sorry.
Isaiah Likely, who's 70, it was 80% roster.
Tucker Kraft, they mentioned 77% roster.
And Evan Ingram.
The running backs who are available, there's a bunch of them.
Just got to get to the list, sorry.
That's okay.
I'm watching a little tape right now to see if Patrick Churtan shadowed Jacoby Myers.
Oh, there's Jacoby Myers.
Big play of 18 yards on Churtan.
Yeah, Myers lined up wide for most of the game, if I recall.
89% out wide.
You have some guys here
that are more lottery ticket options
than starters at this point,
but they should still be rostered.
Zach Charbonnet,
we already saw what he did in two games.
Braylon Allen, we know what he can do
if something happened to Brees Hall.
And then you mentioned Sermon,
71% rostered.
He would be a borderline starter. Tough matchup, but six catches is hard to overlook what he can do if something happened to Brees Hall. And then you mentioned Sermon, 71% rostered.
He would be a borderline starter, tough matchup, but six catches is hard to overlook and scored a touchdown against the Jaguars. Much easier matchup, but still Jonathan Brooks, we may get his practice
window open this week, 83% rostered. Justice Hill and Antonio Gibson, more PPR options, but
you know, could be flexes at some point when you feel like the matchup's right or if you're stuck.
Raheem Mostert's at 83% roster.
Devon HN goes into their bi-week on a concussion and Mostert had a solid
game,
98 total yards against the Patriots,
but we know what his role will likely be when he's,
when he's back,
even with HN and then the quarterbacks,
I think I have three guys listed,
which are Anthony Richardson's 87% rostered.
I think if he's available on your waiver wire, you want to pick him up,
just see if he can get back on track and be the quarterback we thought he was going to be.
Geno Smith still leads the NFL in passing yards and probably going to be throwing a lot against the 49ers.
And we saw Kyler Murray do a decent job throwing the ball, at least better than I expected,
but certainly he made some plays with legs.
Geno's coming off a 70 rushing yard game career high for him,
but he's rushed for 30 or more yards in three games this season.
And Caleb Williams,
who would ever drop Caleb Williams,
um,
taking on the Jaguars,
taking on the commanders and their next two games.
And he's got the soft part of his soft spot of his schedule that he's
taken advantage of the Colts three weeks ago,
the Jag,
uh,
excuse me,
the Panthers this past week.
And I think it continues against Jacksonville this
week yeah I get gross on the running backs yeah yeah go ahead because I didn't I didn't hear the
name Tyler Algier Jamie oh Tyler Algier 60 66 right right he was he was one of the ones I meant
to mention with the uh the handcuff guys I I think he might be okay as like a desperation
bi-week replacement running back because the Falcons are taking on the Panthers.
He's gotten at least nine
total touches each of the last two weeks.
Caleb Williams
or Kirk Cousins?
Who would you rather have? Oh, Cousins.
It's Kirk.
The drops
are tough this week. Would you drop
Keenan Allen and Romo Dunze for
Juju?
Yes.
Yes.
Okay.
Would you drop Zach Charbonnet for Tyrone Tracy or Tank Bigsby?
Yes.
I think I'd definitely do it for Bigsby.
I don't know if I'd do it for Tracy.
Yeah, how bad would you need?
You don't have to make a move, and you don't necessarily have to.
But what if, you know, it's a groin injury for Singletary.
What if he's out for a month?
Yeah, I know.
It's just obviously we've seen Charbonnet and how great he can be.
But OK, Dave, Dave, none of those guys are available on any of my leagues.
Could you tell me who's available in the deeper leagues?
It's pretty easy.
A quarterback, because you've got Flacco and Jones available in over 80 percent of leagues.
Jamie had Flacco third on his list.
He's first on mine.
I know he's taking on the Titans.
It's a great defense.
It doesn't bother me.
I think Joe Flacco is just going to keep doing what he's doing.
So he's going to be one of my favorite quarterbacks to pick up.
And in the event that Anthony Richardson is clear and he comes back this week,
of course, I'm dropkicking him right to the waiver wire.
I'll go back to try and find another quarterback who's out there. Maybe even somebody like Andy Dalton, Bo Nix, Will
Levis. It's gross. Aiden O'Connell, Drake May. Those are guys who are available in deeper leagues
at quarterback. Not great guys, but I'll take the chance on Flacco. Or if I can find room,
get another quarterback, maybe Daniel Jones too. Running backs, Daria Gumbawale is available in 97% of leagues.
Tyler Goodson's available in 98% of leagues.
Amir Abdullah, who once upon a time was rumored to be Jamie's son,
is available in 99% of fantasy leagues.
Obviously, Gumbawale, the only one you can really trust,
but Tyler Goodson had some modest numbers in week number five.
Wide receiver, Juju, 93%
available. Jalen Tolbert, 90% available. You can set your targets on those guys. Darius Slayton,
if there is no Malik neighbors, I think you'll have no problem starting him. He's 91% available.
We'll talk more about some stash wide receivers down the line, tight ends. There's nobody that's
like widely available that i would consider
starting so if you're in a deep league and you need a tight end i don't have an answer for you
right now trey johnson just had uh five catches and who knows theo johnson yeah theo john excuse
me uh who knows if that coincides with just neighbors being out and you know needing him
to be the third option in the passing game but you know somebody who can you know, needing him to be the third option in the passing game. But, you know, somebody who can, you know, hopefully build off this.
The thing that I'll tell you, Adam, you can, you can co-sign it if you want to,
is that Daniel Jones did a good job of getting rid of the ball when Seattle's pressure got near him.
And they were, Seattle was very aggressive early on to try and get to Daniel Jones and he would just get rid of it.
And it would be these short little flick passes.
Eric Gray had a great gain on one of them.
Theo Johnson had a bunch of short area targets.
I don't know if that's going to be game-dependent
or game script-dependent for Theo Johnson,
but yeah, I guess that would be a name at tight end, Jamie.
Thank you.
I mean, if neighbors play, there's no way.
I'm looking at him, but, you know.
Well, you don't have to start him,
but, you know, you've been playing tight end roulette a little bit.
It's not a bad guy in a deeper league to pick up and just see what happens.
I guess so.
Okay, I guess we can talk about last night's game, although honestly, we don't really have a ton of time.
Okay, first of all, let me just check the Chiefs' schedule.
The Chiefs, in their fantasy playoffs, they have Cleveland, Houston, and Pittsburgh.
This is the team that I do not want
my running back facing. They may have the best run defense in football. It is insane what they
are doing to great running back Baltimore. Yeah. I remember Baltimore. Oh, you mean their run
defense, right? Yeah. Listen, it wasn't great against Cincinnati, but I think there's still
a really good run D and I'm sorry. I didn'm sorry. I thought you said, do you remember Baltimore?
You said it's either them or Baltimore.
Have you heard of a town called Baltimore?
They are so good.
So I am not surprised that Alvin Kamara had kind of a dud game.
But Chris Olave, look, the Saints had the ball for 20 minutes.
They never had any rhythm in this game.
They got outplayed.
But Chris Olave now, two catches for 10 yards.
He had three straight games with 81 to 87 yards.
But he is not having a huge breakout season.
Let's be real here, Jamie.
He's got one touchdown.
What's your level of concern for Chris Olave?
High, especially if there's an injury to Derek Carr
that may knock him out for a couple of weeks.
So it's been frustrating.
Shahid has been better over the course of the season.
He was certainly better against the Chiefs.
Now they put McDuffie on Olave and it felt like Derek Carr was just afraid to throw in that direction.
So, you know, whether it's, how do you say his name, Hainer?
Yeah.
Hainer or maybe Spencer Rattler.
You know, if they decided to go that route, I'd be surprised.
But, you know, it just comes in and says, Yolo, I'm going to throw it to my best receiver and give him opportunities.
But at this point, Olave is one of the bigger busts, unfortunately.
You know what they say, hainers, hainers going to hain.
Right?
That's what they say.
I think Olave will have much better games ahead.
Obviously, we saw it in the past couple of weeks.
I think there is something to it about the coverage that he had.
Carr talked after the game about how there were a couple of plays that he wanted to
throw to a lobby.
They were designed throws to a lobby and he was just pressured when they
take on lesser defenses.
And we talked about the chiefs run defense being great.
Listen,
their whole defense is great when they take on some lesser defenses,
you're going to see all of these numbers go right back to where they were
before this week.
All right.
Uh,
for the chiefs, Dave,
people are saying, I thought I already
did this, but happy to do it again
that we need to
recognize your Kareem Hunt call because this
was like three weeks ago. Whatever.
Those who picked him up, awesome.
Those who didn't, it's okay. There's
Bigsby and other guys off the
waiver wire that you can go and get.
But I mean, this still kind of beat my wildest expectations that he'd have 27
carries and a catch on top of it total over 110 yards.
The short yardage touchdown really was the chicken soup for my heart because I wanted
to see if he would get that role or if it somehow would stay with Samaj P Ryan.
I remember P Ryan had that role last week and instead it went to Kareem hunt.
He,
he had,
I think three or four snaps inside the five.
So he's going to be their main guy.
And the one thing that's funny to me is okay.
Kareem hunt,
Juju Smith,
Schuster,
Travis Kelsey.
It's,
it's like 2017 all over again for fantasy football.
These guys are all coming back.
How long can they actually keep this up?
They're all older.
Like pretty soon there's going to be a,
a soft drink commercial where they're going to be sitting on the couch and
somebody says,
Hey,
why don't we go back for one last run?
And then they go back out and play.
And it's,
it's kind of a mess and we kind of regret it,
but for now ride the wave cream hunts doing great.
I don't see the chiefs replacing him as their lead back.
Okay. And I think that's it. I mean, mean kelsey is obviously you know it's good to see how about i'm gonna spoil something because we are playing we are playing who has more on cbs sports network
today so i'm gonna give you one of the answers right now travis kelsey does not have a single
end zone target yet this season which which i'm encouraged by because I think it's coming, right?
Like they gave him the little shovel pass
inside the five-yard line in this game.
He'll score. He'll start scoring.
But you've got to acknowledge the last two games
without Rasheed Rice, he has just been,
like don't even ask a question about starting Travis Kelsey.
I think he's tight end one. He's tight end one for me.
He's certainly at the top of the conversation.
I mean,
you can make a case without Devante Adams,
Brock Bowers after what he looked like as well,
you know,
could be tight end one.
I still think there's a lot to like about Trey McBride moving forward.
So he'll be in the conversation and I would love to see Sam Laporta get
going again as well,
based on how we performed last year.
But yes,
Kelsey right now is leader of the pack.
Don't forget about Kittle.
Hey, Kittle. Hey.
Kittle's great, yeah.
Tight end's back?
Tight end is back.
What if five weeks from now we're talking about,
man, Kyle Pitts has just been fantastic.
Lesson, he looked great on Thursday.
Yep.
Tucker Craft?
Lesson, he's looked in literally a year.
Tucker Craft, too?
All right, I've got some names on the drop-o-meter for you.
Yeah. Tucker Kraft is, we'll see if Tucker Kraft can keep this up without Christian Watson,
but I don't see why he wouldn't be able to, at least to a degree. Zero to 10 for Mark Andrews. You can look at
last week's game as encouraging and discouraging all at once because he finally got
involved. First catch in over three weeks, but he was outplayed by likely and Charlie Kohler.
Yeah. And he played 55% of the snaps. It's ridiculous. So zero to 10 on Andrews.
He was never a full-time snap guy anyway. And I don't know how many games the Ravens are going
to have where they're going to have to throw the ball a ton. I'm going to give him a six on the dropometer.
I'll say two.
Drop him for Tucker Kraft?
Yes.
I mean, look, anybody who's been outperforming him at this point
that's on the waiver wire, so Kraft, I think if somebody dropped Pitts,
you want to make that move, I'm fine with it.
I'm not dropping him for Tyler Conklin or Kate Otten or Dalton Schultz.
Okay. I'm not dropping him for Tyler Conklin or Kate Otten or Dalton Schultz.
Okay.
Drop-O-Meter for Tank Dell.
Not now.
No way.
Zero right now.
I know.
But again, he played fewer snaps than Hutchinson and had a bad game.
But okay, I'm going to start him this week.
Drop-O-Meter for Sam Darnold going into his bye.
He's dropable. He's more in need based on a want to drop him.
So while he did have a crappy game,
it was against a good Jets defense.
It was in London.
So I'll just play it down the middle and say five.
Schedule after the bye.
Detroit at the Rams.
Colts at the Jaguars. Nice.
Wow.
Yummy. Yeah, that's really good. I think At the Jaguars. Nice. Wow. Yummy.
Yeah, that's really good.
Then it gets a little tougher, sort of tougher.
Two games against Chicago in the double-digit weeks.
You know how I hate carrying two quarterbacks.
I'm in a keeper league where I have Mahomes and Richardson,
and I picked up Darnold, and now I have to drop the third one.
Oh, boy.
You might be carrying four.
By the way, thank you.
I just watched every route of Jacoby Myers
while we were having this discussion,
and I would not say he was shadowed by Sertan,
but he did see quite a bit of Sertan.
I don't think he had a ton of production against him, though.
Jordan Addison is 87% roster.
Drop-o-meter?
One.
Again, I think if you're looking to drop him for Tolbert or to drop him for
Wandale,
if he's still available,
if you're looking to drop him for Juju,
I totally get it,
but that's probably the shortlist.
Dontabian Wicks,
zero to 10.
We're moving on.
Um,
like a five.
I'll say three.
He still got seven targets.
Jawan Jennings,
87% rostered nine.
We,
we were afraid of this.
Jerome Ford,
95% rostered to not ready to fully drop them yet,
but he's kind of higher up on the list than like Darnold and Addison would be
for me.
I'll give him a three.
I'm appreciate my,
my shelf on YouTube says,
I appreciate the heck out of Dave's pronunciation of dropometer as opposed
to drop-o-meter.
But what you don't know my shelf is that if I said dropometer,
he'd say drop-o-meter.
So he's just,
are you kidding?
Do you really think I would do such a thing?
Oh,
speaking of,
um,
speaking of, uh, giving you a hard time about things.
I watched the first full practice of Heath Cummings as basketball coach last night.
Ooh, how was that?
Oh, he was angry.
Really?
I was sitting with a couple of dads and I said, I wonder if he just had a bad fantasy week. You could definitely tell. He's got
he doesn't have a kid on the team.
He's a paid
coach to come coach the team and he's great.
He's absolutely great.
But the Royals and the Chiefs were
playing. He wanted out of there.
Oh, that's why.
That's tough. That's the kind of
story. There was one kid
in particular, I will not say his name,
was not doing what Heath wanted,
and he had them doing suicides after suicides.
Really?
It was so funny.
Oh, this is great for tomorrow.
I cannot wait.
It's going to be fantastic content moving forward.
Oh, that is awesome.
I love it.
It's the Bobby Knight of youth league basketball.
My son, just real quick,
my son had been out for a couple weeks because because of baseball practice and he wasn't feeling well.
And he hadn't run like this maybe in his life.
And he looks over to me and goes, are you okay?
Just go to the bathroom.
He thought he was going to puke.
Oh, my gosh.
Just go.
Heath, wow.
Wow.
I'm telling you, he's great.
He's fantastic.
I can see why his,
his son is so good in basketball, but I want to know, like, if, if he stays angry,
will you go to the next practice and file a report? Um, I probably will not just because,
uh, I coach my, my same son's baseball team. So he'll have to make a choice of where he's
going to go, but I definitely have to go coach the baseball team. Um, but and it wasn't like a mean coach he was just like upset like you know you're not
listening hey go run you know it was it was it was it was good i'm very like yelling at the kids
i hope he was nope he does not raise his voice like he yep all right guys let's uh talk a little
bit more about the waiver wire here okay so quarterback jamie mentioned anthony richardson
gino smith caleb will Williams, and you like Caleb the
best in that group or Geno?
Long term,
so it depends. You need a starter
for... I would start Caleb over Geno this week.
Just matchups too good.
Long term, that's a great question.
I probably would... If I need a quarterback, I'd
probably go with Geno just because I think he'll have a little bit more
safety. Ceilings could probably be
similar. Floor is probably safer for Gino.
If I don't need a quarterback, I just want to see what develops.
I'd rather have Caleb.
And then there's obviously Richardson who factors into that discussion.
But Dalton over both.
I mean, clearly that's the smart move.
Yeah, well.
Kirk Cousins is our top waiver wire priority.
The Panthers, every quarterback or team quarterback that has scored 20 or more fantasy points,
except for Justin Herbert, who only threw 20 passes against the Panthers.
Herbert still had two touchdowns in that game.
Yeah, they are really bad.
And Joe Flacco, Dave likes, actually better than Cousins?
For this week, yes.
Assuming he plays.
Yeah, right, that's the other issue.
I don't know if Kirk Cousins is going to throw 58 times against Carolina
for 509 yards.
This could be a week where, all right, maybe I'm wish casting,
but this should be a week where the Falcons just let their run game run wild,
and they don't have to have Kirk Cousins carry them.
If their defense is any good, that should be the game script for their matchup at Carolina.
Well, remember I talked about this on Friday,
I think, on the network show.
We had the Bears two games ago, I think,
or three games ago,
throw 50-plus passes,
and everyone was great,
and then they came back down to earth.
We had the Packers throw 50-plus passes
two games ago, and everyone was great,
and then they came back down to earth last week.
So just keep that in mind,
you know,
but,
but there's obviously a lot to like about cousins and the matchup and Darnell
Mooney.
It's not just one week for Mooney.
He's,
he is their number two guy.
He's ahead of pits.
True.
All right.
Um,
Will Levis has a great matchup.
If he plays,
then you can always look at Aiden O'Connell,
Jamis Winston,
Drake May,
Jake Hainer,
Aaron Rogers is still available.
He's not playing great. And Buffalo is a tough matchup.
What's Tua Tungavailoa's roster ship?
48%.
All right.
You can still stash him on the IR.
Yeah, and then we're not going to start Dalton or Bo Nix.
Russell Wilson, though, is someone, if you're in a super flex league,
that could start as early as this week, and he is 9% rostered, and he gets Las Vegas,
potentially gets Las Vegas this week.
Running backs, all those handcuffs that are available.
You know, like, do you hold on to Jonathan Brooks?
With the way Chuba Hubbard has been playing,
do you hold on to Jonathan Brooks,
or do you make a move with Tracy or Bixby?
Without an IR spot?
Yeah.
I mean, clearly, if you need someone for this week,
then you're going to drop Jonathan Brooks
if he's the last guy on your roster
to pick up one of those guys.
But I still think when we're looking
at league-winning potential,
he's got league-winning potential
because of what Chuba Hubbard's doing.
If he gets the opportunity to be the lead guy
in that offense,
then he could be that type of player,
if not better, because he's a better talent.
But the concern would be, does Hubbard lose any sort of touches at all or lose significant touches at all?
Because he's been playing great. So it's probably gonna be a committee.
I'll go back to what I said prior to the news that they weren't activating him.
The month of October was probably going to be bad. Now it could be into early November.
But by the end of the season, they may be giving him those touches,
and it could be special.
But, Adam, I think it would be a real dingbat move to draft Jonathan Brooks,
carry him for five weeks, and then cut him
when we're at the closest point to him coming back.
I know.
It's just kind of hard to see Chubber go away at this point.
He's been too close.
No, and listen,
I am 100% sure that the Panthers
are going to ease Brooks in.
So like his first actual game,
like I'd be shocked
if he had more than 10 touches.
Second game, shocked
if he had more than 12 touches.
But we could see a November, December,
you know, Phoenix rise from the ashes of Carolina.
And Jonathan Brooks plays well.
If you're going to drop him.
Oh, don't do it.
Trade him.
Try and trade him for sure.
But if you must drop him, do it on like Saturday so that you have a chance to get him back off waivers before week seven.
Do you guys think Trey Sermon will be good this week
against a very good run defense?
He did have six catches last week at Jacksonville.
I don't think really the Colts' offense
will be great this week against Titans.
Their defense has been fantastic.
And so yes, Flacco is a different kind of quarterback because he just doesn't care
at this point. Why would he? So,
we saw a couple games last year where he was 300,
2, and 3. If you like Flacco,
probably you should expect something like that.
I don't think Sermon's going to have a big game. 300
against the Titans? I'm saying if you like
Flacco, I don't think he's going to go over 300. I think
the streak snaps. I think
he's not a top 12 quarterback for this week.
But, yeah, Titans have been really good. And now the Colts are down another I think he's not a top 12 quarterback for this week.
Titans have been really good.
And now the Colts are down another offensive lineman too. Keep that in mind. Yeah, they lost Will Fries. That does stink.
14 or more non-PPR points to three running backs in weeks two and three
is what the Titans allowed. They've been great against bad running backs.
They've struggled against good running backs. Is Trace Serm backs is trace sermon a good run no good grief no no so like he might by default be a top
24 running back for me uh actually i'm looking right now he will he is exactly 24th in full ppr
all right so sorry i'm just gonna speed it up we like bigs be like, we like Tracy, Chandler, Roshon Johnson is a goal lineback. He gets the
Jaguars this week. No, he was
not the exclusive goal lineback.
No, but he's got two goal line touchdowns.
That's three goal line touchdowns in the last
two games.
Jalen Warren, 53% rostered.
If you ask me, this guy needs to be the
starting running back at some point. I mean, this is a
stash, Jalen Warren. I hope so.
Tajay Spears, I mentioned his
next two opponents have been really bad against pass
catching running backs, and he had 15 carries
last week. So Spears is
59% rostered. Truth or Dare,
Agun Bawale is out there.
If Damian Pierce and Joe Mixon are both
out, I mean, I would
think he would get more carries. It seemed like they
just straight up went away from acres, and
Agun Bawally played more,
had 21 touches
compared to 11 for acres.
Yep, six catches.
He's got 10 catches the last two weeks.
And the Patriots have struggled against running backs the last
two weeks. So Agumbo Wally is 3% rostered.
Sneaky guy.
Jaleel McLaughlin,
you know, he's been lucky. He's gotten a couple touchdowns.
More of a handcuffs lottery ticket type.
Jalen Wright was good.
They're going into a bye.
Amir Abdullah scored.
That was cool.
And let's go to the wide receivers.
So the shallow league guys, Ridley, Sutton, Jacoby Myers,
Keenan Allen, Roma Dunze, Darnell Mooney.
Mooney is the top of that list.
What about McConkie?
I don't know if we've talked much about him.
He does not.
This is another team that doesn't have great matchups going forward.
McConkie, 66% rostered.
Jamie, quick thought there?
Two touchdowns in four games.
Somebody's going to have to start making plays in this passing game consistently.
We saw a couple of good games for Quentin Johnston,
a couple of good games for McConkie. There is a chance DJ chart could return as early as this week. So it's just
something to keep an eye on there to maybe shake some things up. And Josh Palmer, we know has been
banged up, but McConkie is their future. I think he's somebody that will benefit as the year goes
on. And if you have the ability to pick him up and stash him, I would 100% do so. Yep.
All right. So then we love Wandale and Josh Downs and Juju Smith-Schuster.
If Malik Neighbors is out, Darius Slayton has now had four big games in a row
without Malik Neighbors, three at the end of the 2023 season, one in week four.
Jalen Tolbert.
Yeah, go ahead.
Can I give some stashes here?
Yeah, sure.
Okay, and this is why I think it's okay to prioritize Juju
because you're either stashing or potentially starting Okay, and this is why I think it's okay to prioritize Juju,
because you're either stashing or potentially starting some of these names,
not all of them, but some of them in week number six.
Christian Watson's available in half of CBS Sports League,
so he'll get healthy eventually.
Could be the number two wide receiver in Green Bay.
Quentin Johnson we just talked about, definitely not using him this week.
Definitely we'll find weeks down the line where we will want to use him. Xavier Liggett for Carolina,
going to continue to be a part of that offense. I think DeMario Douglas could end up being a decent PPR option. We might be talking about him in a couple of weeks, particularly once Drake May
goes under center for New England. I think he's, it's by default really, but I think he's the best
wide receiver in New England. You could stash him now. And then two, two at well still available in over
half of CBS leagues. I don't know what the role will be once new Nakua and Cooper cup are back,
but with Cooper cup coming back, that doesn't scare me off of, of that. Well, that actually
makes it worse for Whittington. Uh, I think at well, well will actually still continue to play until nakua is back and
then one more ricky pierce all 90 available could go on the ir he will eventually have some sort of
role in that 49ers offense at worst you stash him on your ir on your ir and when he comes back
if you don't really see him having a role on your bench you cut him okay yeah they're just there are a lot of guys
that you could just plug in this week you know i don't have a starting wide receiver i'll get
romeo dobbs bam i'll get tyler lockett who's scored like he's giving you a respectable game
i think in four or five games so he's on a list of four wide receivers that are more deeper
bi-week replacement types lockett's there, but he's not my favorite.
Michael Wilson, 64% available.
He's somebody that could go and get you 10 PPR points.
Lazard can get you 10 plus.
He's 44% available.
And then Alec Pierce, only if Joe, I know this sounds silly because Pierce has had some
big catches from Anthony Richardson, but if Flacco is playing, I don't mind using Alec
Pierce as a boom bus flex. And
he's out there in 71% of leagues. And I bet his number goes up because people keep seeing them
having these big stat lines and they go, okay, eventually this guy's going to go off. So it
wouldn't surprise me if people who aren't listening to the show, um, go after out Pierce a little bit
harder than we might. We'd rather have downs. I think that's pretty obvious, but Pierce is going to be somebody who can fill in in week six if you need a receiver.
Now, granted, the Titans have played one fewer game, but they currently are giving up the fewest
completions of 20 or more yards and the fewest completions of 20 or more air yards. Having said
that, Houston is also very good at eliminating the deep ball. And Alec Pierce had three catches for 125 yards and a touchdown against Houston.
Can you run down the list of quarterbacks the Titans have played?
And if you can't, I can.
Yeah, go ahead.
Caleb Williams in his first NFL start.
He was a mess.
Aaron Rodgers in week two.
Malik Willis in week three.
And I think it was,
was it Huntley in week four?
Yeah.
It was Huntley on like six days of practice.
Yeah.
I,
I would argue that this Titans defense hasn't been properly tested.
Yeah,
no,
you're right.
Okay.
Enter Joe Flacco.
Okay.
And then a tight end.
We've got,
Oh,
don't I'm just one more name is Trey Tucker.
He's 46% rostered as we expect Adams to get traded.
Tucker's going to play a ton and probably have some,
some solid games out there.
Um,
okay.
Just quick updates here.
I'm seeing from Jerry Jones.
Micah Parsons has a chance,
but he's iffy for Sunday left tackle.
Tyler Guyton has a good chance to play on Sunday and Duran bland,
probably not going to play this week.
They're cornerback tight ends.
All right.
So yeah,
like Isaiah likely Adam or ignore him.
Adam,
I think they're going to need,
I think they're going to need to throw against Washington.
And I think they're going to want to throw 40 times last week.
It's three targets.
Yeah.
Two of them.
I'll go back to what he said last week.
It's,
it's a tight end now with two big games out of five.
Why would we ignore him if you're stuck in the position?
Would you rather have Kraft or Likely?
Kraft.
Kraft.
Okay.
Ingram or Likely?
Ingram.
Likely.
Dalton, Schultz, Tyler, Conklin, Cade, Otten.
That's Jamie's order.
Dave likes Otten best. How would you rank Schultz, Conklin, Cade, Otten. That's Jamie's order. Dave likes Otten best.
How would you rank Schultz, Conklin, Otten, Dave?
Otten, Schultz, Conklin.
And Taysom Hill, if we knew he were healthy,
I'd put him at the top of the list.
Okay.
And then DSTs.
Texans at the Patriots.
Eagles against the Browns. Bucks at the Patriots. Eagles against the Browns.
Bucks at the Saints.
That could be a good one. Chargers at Denver.
Falcons at the Panthers.
Kickers. Chase McLaughlin, Jake Elliott, Austin Siebert, Cameron
Dicker, and the wonderful, amazing
Greg Joseph.
We are out of here, folks.
And we will talk to you
on the CBS Sports network at 1.
PM.
I know this was a long show,
but like I said,
best waiver wire week in 16 years without question.
So call that's a callback to a joke from an hour and 10 minutes ago.
Have a great day,
everybody.
Bye.
