Starting point is 00:00:00 Sunday morning, week 14. Let's get those lineups set on Fantasy Football Today in 5. And good morning, everybody. It is Sunday, December 13th. It is time to win a playoff matchup. Adam Azer and Heath Cummings here on Fantasy Football Today in 5, a podcast that gets you caught up fast on the fantasy news and advice you need to know. Follow and stream us on Spotify, everybody. All right, Heath. So the Dolphins give us the big news with Myles Gaskin on the reserve COVID list. He's going to miss this week, and he's probably going to miss next week as well. DeAndre Washington is only 14% rostered.
Starting point is 00:00:32 Where did you end up ranking him? He's right around number 25 in the running back rankings. I gave him a similar workload in the running game to what we saw the last time that he played, and Gaskin was out, and that was 13 carries. He did have five targets in that game. He wasn't very good with those targets, and they've been using Lynn Bowden more in the passing game, so I'm not sure he'll see as much work in the passing game as he did.
Starting point is 00:00:54 But I've got him right around running back 25, which puts him with all the other replacement running backs. And that was a weird game a couple of weeks ago because Fitzpatrick started, and Matt Breida was playing, and Matt Breida got a lot of the work until he fumbled, and then they turned it over to DeAndre Washington. But Breida's out. It's just him and Laird. So, I mean, do you think there's a chance for the Gaskin role, basically, of almost 20 touches? I think there's a chance for that. I just don't think it's a reasonable expectation to go into the week with. Because if I gave him 20 touches as a projection, he would be a top 15 running back.
Starting point is 00:01:28 I don't think he's... It is a revenge game, though. Yeah. We don't have to... That's always good. We don't have to compare him to Devontae Booker, thankfully. We'll talk about Josh Jacobs in a moment. But Giovanni Bernard and Mike Davis are other replacement running backs.
Starting point is 00:01:43 It's been a while for both of them. But how do we feel about Gio and Davis this week? Davis, I'm pretty much starting as a top 15 back, especially with DJ Moore out. I think that there's a little bit more certainty in terms of the passing game for Davis and seeing a few more targets. And so he's ahead of all the replacement running backs for me. Gio is right in that DeAndre Washington discussion.
Starting point is 00:02:11 I think I'd prefer to start Washington, though. Okay, Ezekiel Elliott's going to play through a bruised calf. Are you downgrading him at all against the Bengals? If I did, it's putting him behind someone like Mike Davis, so probably not. He's still a top I'm still I'm starting Ezekiel Elliott how about Josh Jacobs he's expected to play he gets a tough matchup against the Colts start or sit I would start Josh Jacobs in most scenarios I do have him behind guys like Ronald Jones and Clyde Edwards Hilaire and Jonathan Taylor and Deandre Swift.
Starting point is 00:02:48 So there's a chance that you're sitting in, but he's a top 20 running back. And you guys ended up pretty high on Deandre Swift. You trust the workload. I'm hopeful for the workload. What I did when I went through to the projections, I didn't think it would be fair to give him what he had in his most recent game when he was really dominating touches.
Starting point is 00:03:02 So I did an average of his last four games with the lions so that that gets swift to 12 carries five targets 16 touches at his efficiency this season that's enough especially against a great matchup like the packers that's enough to make him a borderline top 12 running yeah i'm getting getting excited about deandre swift to give some answers yesterday that I wish I could take back because in my mind, Swift was more like RB24, but you guys have him closer to 15, and I think that makes sense. Curtis Samuel is going to play. Where did you end up ranking Curtis
Starting point is 00:03:33 Samuel? Borderline number two wide receiver. I like him quite a bit better in non-PPR than I do in full PPR, just because I do think that he'll have three to four carries in the running game. But I think you could view him as someone in the, I don't know, Cole Beasley range.
Starting point is 00:03:57 If you have two great wide receivers, maybe you're not starting them, but you're probably still flexing them. And finally, do you have, well, we also have an Apple podcast for you question. I'll get to that. But do you have any sleepers for us this week? We still don't know for sure about Jamison Crowder, but if he's out Braxton Barrios with there's no Denzel Mims, it just pretty much be Barrios and Brashad Perryman. That would be a very interesting situation for the Jets.
Starting point is 00:04:21 And there's a lot of guys that I think tech like DeAndre Washington technically should be a sleeper. Kiki QT technically should be a sleeper. But those guys we've just talked about all week long. Well, what about Brashad Perryman? People probably lost faith in him after last week, but he's got a real good opportunity here. Crowder's out, even if he's not. I guess I don't view him as a sleeper, but absolutely.
Starting point is 00:04:43 I've already, with Crowder playing, got Perryman ranked as a top 36 wide receiver in all formats. Yeah. And our Apple Podcast Review question from JMac. Start one in PPR. Cole Beasley, Tim Patrick, Sterling Shepard, or T.Y. Hilton? Beasley, Patrick, Shepard,
Starting point is 00:05:00 Hilton. We've talked about these guys a lot. I'm going with Cole Beasley. He's mostly been awesome when John Brown hasn't played, and this Steelers defense does not look like the Steelers defense we've seen for most of this season. So I've got Beasley at number 27 at wide receiver. Check out CBS Sports HQ at 10 a.m. Eastern for more fantasy football coverage. Thanks a lot to Heath Cummings. I'm Adam Azer.
