This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
No, I can't.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
This is going to go the distance.
Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
Welcome to Fantasy Football Today, presented by BetMGM, the sportsbook born in Vegas.
You know, earlier today, there were some injuries, and A.J. Brown was ruled out, and Evan Ingram got hurt,
and I was calling week two, week poo. But now, I think I'm going some injuries, and A.J. Brown was ruled out, and Evan Ingram got hurt,
and I was calling week two, week poo.
But now, I think I'm going to call it week woo-hoo.
It was pretty good.
There were some injuries, but it was a good week.
It was like a normal, felt like a normal week.
Right? Felt normal?
Felt normal, felt fun.
I don't know if necessarily quarterbacking is back yet.
There's still some wonkiness going on around the league with some of the quarterbacks that are out there.
The kids are all right.
The kids are all right.
Okay, let's see.
Who's the highest scoring quarterback this week?
Only one 30-point scorer so far.
It's got to be Derek Carr?
It is not.
It is Kyler Murray.
It's Kyler Murray.
Yeah, all right.
Here's some wow stats about Derek Carr and the New Orleans Saints.
The Saints scored on each of their first nine possessions in week one
and scored touchdowns on each of their first six possessions in week two.
Derek Carr has scored more than 25 fantasy points
and six points for passing touchdown leagues
in five of his last six games dating back to last season.
And this one from the AP, actually the first one was from the AP as well.
The Saints are the first team to score 44 or more points
in each of their first two games since the Saints in 2009
when they won the Super Bowl.
So with that said, let's get some winners and losers.
We're hoping Jamie's able to join us in a little bit.
Who's the biggest winner of week?
Woo-hoo, Heath.
Well, it's funny because I put on my winner's list the Saints.
So we're back to doing that thing where you talk about the thing
that I'm going to talk about before I talk about it.
Yeah, it was a lead-in.
Great for Derek Carr.
And what I wrote that will be published later is that he may be the surprise
QB1 of the 2024 season, but also like stop sleeping on Rashid Shahid,
please.
He's a top 30 wide receiver and Alvin Kamara might be the best running back
in fantasy football.
And,
and,
and they like,
there's no,
there's no reason to doubt them anymore.
They did it to the Panthers.
Like,
Oh,
yawn.
Um,
they do it to the Cowboys that They were like, oh, yawn. They do it to the Cowboys.
The new offensive system
seems pretty freaking great.
Do you still doubt them against
Philadelphia in week number three?
I don't. I don't either.
The new offensive system, I don't have
all the fancy numbers about how much
motion they used or
play action or anything like that. All I
know is that offensive line neutralized Michael Parsons.
And that's not a small deal.
Yeah, that's great.
And they just destroyed the Cowboys.
And Derek Carr is only 45% rostered.
And next week he gets the Philadelphia Eagles.
I was going to say my biggest winner.
I was looking up the offensive coordinator or the quarterback's
coach or the passing game coordinator
for the 49ers. I was going to say,
in a year or two, he's going to be
the next guy, but they don't have one.
They don't have a quarterback's coach.
Yeah, but usually they have a guy.
Anyway, Dave, who's your
biggest winner? I don't know, guys.
You think Marvin Harrison can really
hack it in the NFL?
Looked kind of slow last week.
Not sure if he can really do this.
Eight targets, four catches, 130 yards, two touchdowns in the first quarter
against the Rams.
That's what we were drafting.
That's the guy that we saw at Ohio State.
That's the dude who looks like a difference maker in
fantasy football uh one of our listeners sent me a post on x and said that I made trade offers in
three leagues to get Marvin Harrison I got him in all three feel like a champion and if you've got
Marvin Harrison on your team you should feel like a champion and I know that Kyler was the number
one QB in fantasy and all that stuff and he only threw 21 passes but man you're going to continue to see that connection between harrison
and kyler it's going to grow it's going to be even better than this i don't know about two
touchdowns better but you get my point must start fantasy wide receiver don't even think twice about
it i'm going to go ahead and talk about my other winner because jsn just say no to starting him in your lineup this week no luck it doesn't matter apparently um maybe the seattle offense is not going to be super
predictable on a week-to-week basis which is great if you're a seattle seahawks football fan
it's not as great if you're a fantasy manager with one of the wide receivers on your team but it was nice to see that jsn is still alive he is still capable
and um is still a part of their plan 14 carries for zach charbonnet 16 targets for jackson smith
and jigba i'm wondering if there's going to be a correlation moving forward where if if the seahawks
feel like they can't run the ball jsnSN will be an extension of the run game,
and he's going to have monster numbers like this.
Yeah, 16 and 14 targets for Metcalf.
Lockett had only two targets, but Lockett, unlike last week,
last week Lockett didn't play that much.
This week he played over 50 snaps.
They all played 50 to 55 snaps at the top three wide receivers,
and Geno Smith threw the ball 44 times in an overtime win at the Patriots.
I was hoping you would have a segment today called like what's real because there were several of
these week one versus week two things like Jerome Ford and I think he was on Jamie's losers being
a complete workhorse running back in week one and then Deontay Foreman starting week two and
handling two-thirds of the rush attempts.
Well, I mean, I don't have a segment called What's Real,
but certainly we can do an impromptu segment of What's Real.
I just saw a note that Isaiah Pacheco is getting evaluated for an ankle injury.
He limped off late in the game against Cincinnati.
Right at the very end, yeah.
So that's wonderful.
I'm going to throw that in the notes.
Let's go to some losers real quick here. Who's the biggest loser?
You want to go first Heath um well I mean I you I you guys I shouldn't go first because I was third and sending the names in fine I'll go first I got two guys Rico Dowdle and Ezekiel Elliott
if Dallas is is not going to be able to get a good foundational run game going
and they're going to end up in a bunch of blowouts like this,
they're not going to get a lot of work.
They combine for 13 carries.
We saw Dowd will get four catches for 29 yards.
That was a little surprising, I guess, five targets.
I'd like for him to keep that job, but Zeke had three targets and two catches.
And this was another game where, for the most part,
it was all about Dak to Lamb.
Now, Jalen Tolbert made a nice deep catch.
He had nine targets, six catches, 82 yards.
Maybe he's somebody we think about.
Brandon Cooks went back to being irrelevant.
That kind of stunk.
But I'm not feeling so good about either of the Dallas running backs right now.
Yeah, are you dropping Rico Dowdle?
Or do you want to hang on longer?
Or Zeke, for that matter?
I mean, I don't mind them being on the bench,
but if I'm making a move for somebody off the waiver wire
who I think is going to be a competitive fantasy player,
like let's say Isaiah Pacheco's injury is serious
and Carson Steele becomes a becomes a thing yeah i'm pivoting
off of one of the cowboys running backs for carson steel okay heath who's they are droppable but don't
just drop them to drop them no spike cutting here with the cowboys running backs heath who's a loser
for you um i will i think the biggest loser was on jamie's list and it was jerome ford because his
value was the fact that he was the dominant back in that backfield.
And just right from the get-go, he was not at all.
And the funny thing is, he was much better than Deontay Foreman all day long.
Deontay Foreman had 14 carries for 42 yards.
Ford had seven for 64.
Deontay Foreman doesn't look good, but there's something that Ford did in week one that they didn't like.
And so you can't view Ford as a safe starter until Chubb returns.
I wonder if it's more about them not wanting to overwork Jerome Ford.
Because they know they're going to need these running backs until Chubb comes back.
If Chubb comes back and if Chubb is himself.
Their offense is so bad and so desperate for anything resembling good.
I can't imagine they're going to settle for Deontay Foreman running two yards
and falling down.
No, but at least he can take some of the work off of Ford.
Ford still led the way in terms of playing time, but it wasn't like last week.
It was only 42% of the snaps.
He had a slight edge on third down snaps.
Foreman had both the snaps inside
the five. I think that
is something you could have predicted.
You couldn't have predicted it.
It's not a good offense.
I will agree with you
on that. They're also missing
both tackles, but it was weird.
I thought Foreman didn't have
a touch last week.
Did he have one?
I don't know. I think he might have... I'll double check.
I don't think he did. I don't think he
had a single touch last week, but regardless,
it was a big surprise.
It made no sense to me. And Pierre
Strong got hurt in that game as well. We have a lot
of injuries to talk about. Cooper Cup,
Justin Jefferson... Foreman played one snap last week. Yeah, Amon Ross Strong got hurt in that game as well. All right. We have a lot of injuries to talk about. Cooper cup, uh, Justin,
Norman played one snap last week.
Yeah.
I'm on Ross St.
Brown.
Uh, it's,
it was an ugly day.
Rashad white.
And now Isaiah Pacheco.
Uh,
so Jefferson,
I said that one.
Yeah.
So we'll,
we'll talk about that in a moment,
but if you haven't signed up yet for the bed,
MGM app,
now is the time and use the bonus code fantasy.

Great deal. Let's do it here.
All right, we're going to take a break and come back and talk about the big news.
Man, it's just like we could spend the whole show on the news
because you've got McCaffrey and Puka and all this stuff.
Fun.
Yeah, but we're not going to.
We're not going to.
So we'll talk about it, though, after this on FFT.

Love the Star Trek references in the chat. I do appreciate that. Thank you for getting us to
100,000 subscribers, by the way. But we welcome you back. Let's go to the big news.
Christian McCaffrey is on IR
and it doesn't necessarily mean he's only going to
miss four games. Jordan Mason
with another big performance. We're going to talk
extensively about the values for these players
on
Wednesday's show, but I'll ask you what I asked you this morning.
Who's more valuable right now? Who would you rather
have in trade, McCaffrey or Mason?
McCaffrey.
McCaffrey. And what running back would in trade, McCaffrey or Mason? McCaffrey. McCaffrey. And what running back
would you trade for McCaffrey? Would you trade
Ramondre Stevenson for McCaffrey?
Oh, if I could
make that happen, I would do that.
If I'm too high.
Yeah. Okay.
Would you rather have...
I don't know. Would you rather have Chris Olave or Christian McCaffrey?
Still McCaffrey.
Yeah.
All right.
Would you like to know where he is on the trade chart?
Is it updated?
I made an updated trade chart.
Yeah.
He is RB11.
Okay.
Like stranger things.
Puka Nakua could miss five to seven weeks,
and now Cooper Cupp has an ankle injury,
and he was walked out in a walking boot.
Yeah, that one did not look good.
Yeah.
And neither did the Rams.
Their offensive line is beat up.
It'll get a little healthier starting next week.
Well, not healthier,
but they're getting a starter back from suspension.
Jamie's here. I'm going to bring him in in a moment
here, but Heath, what's
your advice here when it comes to the Rams passing
game? Demarcus Robinson
is a priority,
but it looked pretty gross.
I don't want to start Matthew
Stafford really in any leagues.
And
I mean, you probably need to pick up tyler johnson and
and like jordan whittington's out there i guess but the priority is demarcus robinson
mostly i think it's going to be gross okay uh rashad white left with a groin injury and jamie
eisenberg arrives with a healthy groin hello jamie uh you've checked my groin? I just assumed. You sauntered in.
It might be a little bothered.
You don't know.
I hope not.
I hope not.
Well, you had Rashad White on your losers list.
Was it just the injury or what's the...
No, he sucked.
But he got hurt.
Didn't he come back?
He came back in the game.
He came back?
Yeah, he came back.
And he did suck.
How much time did he miss?
He played 70% of the snaps, I think.
Okay.
So 10 carries for 18.
Yeah, he sucked.
Yeah.
I mean, what else do you want to say?
Well, you know, here's the thing.
They didn't really have – it's not like Bucky Irving got a bunch of carries.
You know, so –
Yeah.
It's like none of them did.
Neither of them did.
But this is now two weeks in a row that he sucked.
Yeah. You can't mask it with his receiving numbers this week. Neither of them did. But this is now two weeks in a row that he sucked. Yeah.
You can't mask it with his receiving numbers this week.
Weird that he only had one catch.
All right.
So great, great role in the passing game for those two schmucks.
Jeez.
Ornery Jamie on Sunday.
Well, you know, you got to cut Jamie a break.
He's got a sore groin.
Yeah, he does.
It's true.
So what do you think?
So White was started in 84% of
leagues. He gets Denver next week, which
could be good. What's your confidence
level?
Could be. Awesome.
Yeah, but he's not.
I don't know what to say. I'm really
afraid of Jamie. We're going to start Rashad White one more
week.
I am not going to live long or prosper
with Jamie on the show.
All right. Jonathan Taylor.
Dave, did we ever find out what happened to Jonathan Taylor?
Jonathan Taylor just did
not play in the fourth quarter. They are not saying
that there's an injury related to it. Don't be surprised
if he shows up with an injury
on the practice reports next week, but he
did not play a single snap in the fourth quarter.
Got a comment from the chat from Robert.
Come from the fantasy advice. leave with a prostate exam.
I hope it doesn't feel that way.
Justin Jefferson has a bruised quad,
and Matthew Stafford apparently was banged up.
I heard on the broadcast.
I think Jefferson did say he would be ready to go next week.
It wasn't serious.
He just had to get in the training room and get ready for next week.
Did he say that after a hamstring injury too last year?
Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Fooled you.
Think about the first round
so far. McCaffrey,
dead. Tyreek Hill
lost his quarterback.
St. Brown, now hurt.
Brees Hall was on an exercise
bike for part of the game today.
Jefferson, now hurt. Braylon Allen's better
than Brees Hall.
Allen Lazard is better than
Garrett Wilson.
AJ Brown, missing game.
Yeah, so what happened to Garrett
Wilson? We'll talk about it. He got shadowed
by LeGarrius Sneed from what I saw.
So we'll talk about that. I got to worry
about that. He had a good matchup, like once.
Garrett Wilson? Yeah.
Sounds like a buy low to me.
I don't know, guys.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The number one overall pick the last eight years,
David Johnson in 2017 missed 15 games.
Todd Gurley in 2018 was great, missed two games, but he's RB3.
2019, Saquon Barkley finishes RB10, missed three games.
2020, Christian McCaffrey missed 13 games. 2020, Christian McCaffrey missed 13 games.
2021, Christian McCaffrey missed 10 games.
2022, Jonathan Taylor missed six games.
He was RB31.
2023 was Justin Jefferson.
2024, Christian McCaffrey going to miss at least five games.
Really weird.
That's it for the big news.
We are on CBS Sports Network with more entertaining action.
I'm ranking a kicker first overall next year.
I don't care.
You could have ranked
Graham Gonneau first overall
because he left today.
Oh my God,
that killed a lot of people.
Bets.
Yeah, the Giants
pretty much lost because of it.
But CBS Sports Network,
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday,
1 p.m. Eastern.
Actually, we have
different times this week.
I'll update you on Monday
about that.
But usually we're
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday,
1 p.m. Eastern.
I think we're 1130 on Tuesday. I think that you could
just look to the right a little
bit on the screen. 1130 Tuesday,
12 o'clock Wednesday, 1 o'clock
Friday. Thank you very much.
1130 Tuesday, 12 p.m.
Wednesday, 1 p.m. Friday, CBS
Sports Network. If you miss it on the network, you can watch
it at youtube.com slash fantasy football
today. Let's get to the Worry-O-Meter.
I'm very happy.
Start of the week did go well, yes.
We're responding to some comments here.
All right, Worry-O-Meter, 0-10.
Zero not worried at all.
10, freaking out.
Sam Laporta, two catches for 13 yards on three targets.
One week after having four catches on five targets.
Zero to 10 for Sam Laporta.
It's like a four.
FFE.
FFO.
What is that?
Freaking F out.
Oh, no.
I mean, he's a tight...
Yeah. Can tight ends even go on this list? I mean, he's a tight, but yeah.
Can tight ends even go on this list?
Because I think he's probably going to still score seven points a game,
which is good enough to be a starting tight end anymore.
So it's fine for.
Not to mention, I forgot.
Trey McBride recovered a fumble in the end zone.
You should at some point, if your league has that setting on CBS
where offensive fumble recovery touchdowns count,
that has not shown up yet.
It should at some point show up.
So I have a question for you.
Let's say a league was just started this year
in the last two years,
and whoever set it up did not turn that setting on but absolutely intended for all
touchdowns to count as fantasy points they should just change it now no right no especially no one
was planning for fumble recovery touchdowns nothing to do with every drafting or projections
no they should just fix it that's the way everybody thought that it was.
All touchdowns should count.
I can fix it after this week.
I'm not fixing it now.
I'm not saying you.
I'm saying everybody that's listening,
if it didn't count, you should go fix it
because everybody in your league
thought that all touchdowns counted.
Well, I don't know if that's true.
Also, I'm definitely not doing that to you
because I traded Trey McBride to you,
so I'm not going to help you out.
So you didn't turn that on in the Big Burger Dynasty?
I have no idea.
The way you're talking about it, I don't know.
I don't know what's going on in the Big Burger Dynasty.
I don't know.
Is that even still going on?
I don't know.
All right.
Travis Kelsey, 0-10 on the Worryometer.
You should fix it.
Tight ends don't count.
Heath got it right.
Travis Kelsey, one catch for five yards on three targets.
He had an almost touchdown.
He came a yard short of a touchdown.
He also had a big catch and run call back on a penalty,
but still it's concerning. The refs were really hard on the Chiefs
today. One for five
on three targets, zero to ten on Kelsey.
Six.
Five. FFO.
I would be less concerned
if they had lost that game.
Jabbar Chase, four
catches for 35 yards on five targets.
Whatever way you can find to wager on Jamar Chase,
whether it's DFS or it's trading for him
or it's like any time touchdown next week
or catches over or yards over or whatever you can do,
Jamar Chase next week, you would like to do that.
What did he do against Arizona last year?
I don't know.
50 points.
Yeah.
He's playing the Washington Commanders next week.
Yes.
And FFL.
Not freaking out.
George Pickens, 0-10.
Two catches for 29 yards on four targets.
10.
And FFL.
Yeah.
Zero.
Go ahead, Heath. You're the only one concerned. Justin Fields is keeping this job. yards on four targets. 10. And FFO. Yeah. Zero.
Go ahead, Heath.
You're the only one concerned.
Justin Fields is keeping this job.
Arthur Smith is well in command and running things he wants to.
They're going to have 18 to 20. He had one of the toughest matchups of the week.
Yeah, tough matchup of the week, and he had a touchdown called back.
They're going to have 18 to 20 passes a game.
And a deep ball called deep.
Yeah, he had two plays called back.
He had 23 passes last week and six of them went to Pickens.
Or six receptions were for Pickens.
How many targets did he have last week?
I think he had eight.
Seven.
Yeah, that's what you should expect.
You know, Fields, for those of you who didn't watch,
Fields actually played pretty damn well.
He had like four or five really good plays called back on penalties.
Or, well, some called back on penalties. Two really
good passes that led to pass interference
calls. So he could have had a...
He played well, and he took care of the ball.
He had a fumble that wasn't really his fault.
So I did get a little nervous about that,
too. But I don't think it's... It's not the
Sertan thing. He got Sertan'd.
We're fine with that. Heath, you're nervous
about the pass volume. Yes.
The pass game. Amari Yes, the pass game.
Amari Cooper, another bad game.
He's got 17 targets this year,
five catches for 27 yards and no touchdowns.
Amari Cooper will have the Giants next week, though, at least.
But 0-10.
I'll be higher than 4 next week if he stinks.
NFFO.
That's a good date.
JB's not freaking out.
Heath, 0-10 on Cooper?
Five.
Okay.
Patrick Mahomes has now scored more than 21 fantasy points
in two of his last 15 games.
He scored 16.9 fantasy points this week,
17.1 fantasy points last week. This is 6 points
for passing touchdown leagues. 0-10
Worryometer on Mahomes.
It might be a good thing
if Isaiah Pacheco misses time.
Right.
He's only got 25 and 28
pass attempts in two games.
He's a game manager.
Are we reevaluating him as an
elite fantasy quarterback?
Yes. I don't think we can as an elite fantasy quarterback? Yes.
Yeah, I don't think we can call him elite,
but we can call him startable. I don't know who currently is
elite, but it doesn't feel like he
is. It's Baker Mayfield
and Derek Carr and Kyler Murray.
I definitely take Josh
Allen ahead of Mahomes now, and I was not that
way. Yes, that's true.
I know what just happened with Allen, but I still would rather have him.
How are we feeling about Allen versus Mahomes?
Allen.
I had it ranked that way anyway, so yeah.
How about Richardson or Mahomes?
Richardson had a bad game.
What the hell?
Breaking news.
A bad game?
Awful game.
I know, but it's the first time that he's played a full game and,
and not a huge game.
Well,
it was the second time he'd played a full game.
What do you mean?
Or should we play one full game last year?
No.
He said he played a full game and looked bad.
And had a bad,
he looked bad.
Yeah.
Had a bad fantasy game.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Um,
I would rather start Richardson than Mahomes
right now.
Yeah, I would too.
Jared Goff,
zero to 10.
He scored...
I'm surprised that
you would say that though, Heath,
because you're usually
take the high variance plays
that over the course
of the season will be,
you know, bigger.
Right, but wait,
I didn't have Richardson
ranked ahead of Mahomes
before the season.
And Richardson, like one great game, one awful game didn't have Richardson ranked ahead of Mahomes before this season. Richardson, one great
game, one awful game, didn't change my mind.
But Marquise
Brown is out for the year. I don't know if that matters.
I think it matters.
Jared Goff, 0-10
on the Worry-O-Meter.
F-
3.
This is another one I'm not that worried about. We didn't have him F had to save like three.
This is another one I'm not that worried about. We didn't have him ranked as a top 12 quarterback before the year,
and we expected him to start off with two great games.
So we basically expected him to be like QB 20 from this point forward.
I think he's probably going to be like QB 20 from this point forward.
QB 20.
Maybe 18.
It's just a shame because the whole thing was like,
well, he's got all these home games and this and that. Now he's failed to take advantage of two home games. It's just a shame because the whole thing was like, well, he's got all these home games. Now he's
failed to take advantage of two home games
of the year. It's true.
How about this? If I told you before the game
he was going to throw 55 times and not
get stacked once,
you would have been like, oh, he's going to be QB1
this year. This was home against
a battered secondary and then
Vida Vea left in the middle of the game. There
should have been layup after layup for him.
And if you were to say that
not only
does he have St. Brown and Laporta,
who are hopefully both healthy,
but now Jamison Williams is this?
This should be on 5, Jericho.
This is awful.
Well, thank you guys for telling me to start
him over Mayfield.
I didn't tell you to do that.
You should have checked rankings, buddy.
Everyone told me to do that.
Not on this show.
I asked Twitter. I left it up to the people. They let me down.
Zemir White, 0-10.
Good. Blame the audience.
We'll go back to begging for subscribers.
F-F-O.
Zemir White, 0-10.
I'm not freaking out about Zemir White. I-10. Jamie's a fan. I'm not freaking out
about Zemir White.
I'm putting him on the bench.
I'm dropping him.
Yeah.
Yeah, he's droppable.
Ah, hold on.
He's got Carolina next week.
Oh, that helps.
Joe Boo game.
It's weird because
he got, obviously,
a lot more carries than Madison.
Madison didn't have
a single catch.
White had three.
He didn't have a lot more carries.
But he had nine carries. I don't know if Madison had four or something. Madison didn't have a single catch. White had three. He didn't have a lot more carries. He had nine carries. I don't know if Madison
had four or something. Madison didn't have a catch,
but for some reason, Madison got the
goal line touchdown. He had four
carries for one yard and a touchdown. That's fantastic.
That was just weird, because if Zemir
White would consistently
have the goal line work, then he'd be,
I don't know, a bi-week replacement or
something where he needs a touchdown, but at least he has a
chance to do it.
If Madison starts mixing in there, that's a huge problem.
He had six of seven snaps inside the 10 Madison did.
Wow.
That's a problem.
All right. News and notes.
Marquise Brown likely out for the season.
Pierre Strong injured.
Tank Bigsby injured.
New England linebacker Juwan Bentley left with a shoulder
injury. Bigsby came back, I thought.
Did he?
I don't know. I don't think he had any
stats. No, I don't think
he... No, he did not.
He was on the sideline after he got hurt, so I don't
know if he came back in. We've got a Pacheco
problem. Big one.
Crutches in a walking
boot carson steel it's your turn this is a lot of the bowl good for my homes right i mean yeah
i would think so i think this would have a shot at salvaging my homes uh deforest buckner and
vita vea two very good defensive tackles vita vea Vea for the Bucs, Buckner for the Colts.
They both left with injuries.
Marshawn Lloyd got hurt again.
Buckner was hurt coming into the game.
Detroit linebacker Alex Anzalone left in the second half.
Jets, so the Jets DST, man.
They don't have Redick, we know that.
And now Jermaine Johnson tore his Achilles.
That's awful.
He's really having a nice game.
And C.J. Mosley, their linebacker, he left in the second quarter.
So they get the Patriots and then the Broncos in their next two games,
but they're not the same.
And D.J. Reid didn't play today either.
Taysom Hill left with a chest injury.
Calvin Ridley, we may have had the throw of the year in week one
with Richardson.
May have had the catch of the year in week one with Richardson may have had the catch of
the year in week two with Calvin Ridley's 40 yard touchdown catch.
Great catch.
I thought it was picked off.
When I first saw it,
it looked like,
I think it was Chuck Clark was coming in and taking the ball away,
but his arms were too high up.
The ball went under them,
I think.
And Ridley had his eyes on it and caught it and went in the end zone.
Ridley had a great game.
He had a touchdown on a run, the deep ball touchdown on top of it.
If he had a more consistent quarterback, I'd be thrilled with Calvin Ridley moving forward.
Yeah, but I mean, I feel like he had a total fluke touchdown catch and he had a rushing touchdown.
I think you should give him credit for
the touchdown i don't think it was a fluke i mean it was an amazing catch but it's not the kind of
play you can rely on and i know but what have we seen a lot of from will levis in his first year
and a half yolo crappy place a lot of yolo calvin ridley is not just is calvin really someone you
want to rely on no i think you've got to view him as like a number three receiver.
A high end number three.
Cincinnati lost two defensive tackles in this game.
BJ Hill and Sheldon Rankins.
A lot of big guys went down today.
And Washington is their next opponent,
so Brian Robinson will have another good matchup.
I wonder if this means there will be more rushing moving forward.
And let's go to some angles.
Yes, for sure.
Some more winners, some more losers.
Jamie, your winners were J.K. Dobbins,
who was your start of the week, started in 86% of leagues.
And D.K. Metcalf, who was only started in 63% of leagues.
He had a 56-yard touchdown catch on busted coverage.
He ended up with a huge game, 10 for 129 on a touchdown.
But let's start with Dobbins.
17 carries 131 yards,
one touchdown and one catch for no yards at Carolina.
Just stay healthy.
If he stays healthy,
he's going to be one of the best picks in fantasy this season because he was,
you know,
not considered even the best chargers running back coming into the season.
Maybe at the end of the process,
some people were picking him to be that, but you see what he's capable of when he stays on the field i mean
back-to-back games with over 130 yards rushing on not exactly a heavy workload uh still i think
going to be their third down back gus edwards got a lot of work that's a problem but gus edwards is
ineffective that's a plus so with the way that this team wants to operate and how he's looking right now,
he should be starting 100% of leagues.
They both played 48% of the snaps, but Dobbins had all, not all,
but the majority of the high-value touches.
9 of 16 on third downs, 2 of 3 snaps inside the 10,
and Gus just doesn't look good.
He averaged 3.3 yards per carry this week.
That's an improvement for him from last week, whereas Dobbins is just making break look good. He averaged 3.3 yards per carry this week. That's an improvement for him from last week.
Whereas Dobbins is just making breakaway plays.
He can do so much more for them.
I would expect,
I would expect this to move to a 60,
40 split in favor of Dobbins.
Yeah,
I,
I hope so.
But at the same time,
I also don't want them to overwork him because you don't want him to run
into the same problems that he's had,
which is to get hurt. So, you know, be smart. Don smart don't you know run him into the ground if they don't have to
and so he's clearly explosive you know when he's doing what he's doing the touchdown run was nice
for Metcalf did we overvalue Christian Gonzalez a little bit maybe after week one how much that
was Jamar Chase being you know a little bit... I don't know because the touchdown wasn't on Gonzalez.
You know, 56-yard touch.
He had a solid game other than that,
but total busted coverage, 56 yards, untouched.
Okay, I'll rephrase it.
Maybe we overvalued the Patriots' defense a little bit
from a pass defense perspective
after what they did to Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase.
So it is funny.
Like Tyler Lockett was the best Seahawks receiver last week,
and the other two guys did nothing.
And then here the other two guys come out and are absolutely amazing,
and Tyler Lockett does nothing.
So we have probably what we said about the Texans receivers.
There's going to be weeks where there's probably two guys that do something
of significance, and most likely one guy gets left out. I would much prefer it to be the two guys who went off today
metcalf and jason yeah amen and heath's winners were jsn and derrick carr we talked about them
dave you had marvin harrison as a winner but you also had brian robinson jr 71 started for i think
it's the first 100 yard rusher in like 25 games for the Commanders.
Is that the number, 25?
I believe so.
17 carries, one catch, 136 total yards.
Can't quite find the end zone in this game, but he was close.
But, yeah, he's crushing it.
He's doing great.
He's made our winner list for the second week in a row.
Last week, Heath had him as a winner, and I like that he led the way with 17 carries.
I wish he had more catches.
Still had three targets in the game.
Played 60% of the snaps.
Did lose out on third downs to Eckler.
Actually lost out on snaps inside the 10 to Eckler as well.
I wonder if they were kind of pulling back on Robinson a little bit toward the end of the game.
But I think that he is definitely going to be the main.
He's going to be their main running back downs guy.
He'll still be able to pick up a few targets along the way.
The touchdowns will come just like they did last week.
And now you saw what he's capable of doing.
Good efficiency working alongside Jaden Daniels.
Yeah.
I mean, I was obviously watching a lot of that game.
He did lose some snaps inside the 10, but I didn't really get the sense he would have lost snaps at the 2 or the 3.
He just looks so explosive. He looks really
good. That's Brian
Robinson. How would you rank
Christian McCaffrey,
Brian Robinson,
J.K. Dobbins, and Jordan Mason
rest of the season?
McCaffrey's
still at the top of that list, Adam.
Yes.
I think Dobbins is probably earned being next on that list.
I would take Robinson second just with the health factor.
Even though he's sharing a little bit?
They're both sharing.
They are, but all right, fine.
They're both probably going to be around 60%.
I still feel like Dobbins is a little better.
I'm going to stick with Dobbins, then Robinson, then Mason.
Okay.
But if I'm Owen too,
don't kill me.
If I trade McCaffrey for Brian Robinson or something like that,
I'd aim higher.
I would aim higher.
If you wrote about this,
didn't you?
Well,
I did,
but that was before the,
that was before the,
it might be six weeks.
I,
like I was saying,
aim for, and I think you ranked him at 11,
which is exactly what I was saying.
Aim for a low-end RB1.
I think you should still aim for that.
You should only train him if you're 0-2,
but I'm not sure you're going to get it.
You might have to settle for an RB2.
Can I take you guys back to last year?
This is how it was in so many of our leagues,
where one team was
like four and oh let's say week four is over one team's four and oh one team's oh and four and
everybody else it's just jumbled mess of mediocrity and if i've got a team with christian mccaffrey
and i can somehow squeeze out a win or two while he's gone. And I'm not saying I got to be 3-2 or 3-3 when he comes back,
but even 2-3, 1-4, something like that.
Think about the piece you're adding to your team.
Yeah, he can't go to win three there.
Is it a panic move to turn him into Brian Robinson after starting 0-2?
I kind of feel like that's a panic move.
Yeah.
You got to know the landscape of your team, though. I mean, if it's just McAfee that's missing feel like that's a panic move. Yeah. I think you got another landscape of your team though.
I mean, if it's just McAfee that's missing,
then that's a different story.
If we've got a lot of injuries right now that are pretty crucial,
you know,
and it's not just to the specific player.
I mean,
the Packers receivers are tough to trust with Jordan love out.
The Dolphins receiver is going to be tough to trouble with tough,
tough to trust without two of there.
Uh,
by the way,
my,
my team in our Yolo league,
holy cow,
Dave would have killed me if everybody was healthy today because he had Alvin Kamara, but
Tyreek Hill, Justin Jefferson,
Christian McCaffrey, Puka Nakua,
Isaiah Pacheco. You'd sign up for that team
a thousand out of a thousand before
the season starts. I just lost them all.
Yeah, that's bad.
You know what? I'm going to say something about karma here
because just thinking about one of my teams.
I have Evan Ingram in a lot of leagues.
Oh, the Colby Parkinson, Mike Kosicki thing.
So we were on the air this morning
doing our Sunday morning show,
and I'm facing Heath in a league
where I have Evan Ingram.
So he goes to the waiver wire
and he picks up Colby Parkinson,
which would have absolutely been my pickup
if I had my chance.
Like seconds before you picked him up.
I clicked add and it said, Colby Parkinson is no longer available, whatever. Like seconds before you picked him up. I clicked add and it said,
Colby Parkinson is no longer available or whatever
because Heath had just picked him up.
So I picked up Mike Kosicki
and I was like a 15 point swing or something like that.
So karma is a big winner today.
You know what?
It's the only reason you're still alive.
It is.
Yeah, I know.
Yeah.
But all right.
So thank you, Heath.
Anyway, let's take a break
and we'll come back, talk about the losers and the games,
and we'll be right back on FFT.
Let's go to Heath's losers.
We'll do the losers quickly so we can dive into the games here, Heath.
Christian Kirk, holy moly.
One catch, negative one yards.
That's two catches for 29 yards in two games this year.
Trevor Lawrence said, I think he said, we suck right now.
Yeah, that's actually right. now. Doug Peterson expressing frustration. So your thoughts on Kirk?
First off, that was the most accurate Trevor Lawrence has been this year.
No, I mean, I don't know what else to say about it other than week one was bad. Maybe overlook
it a little bit. Week two, he's getting out-targeted and out-played by Brian Thomas
and Gabe Davis and Brenton Strange.
I think you're probably benching Christian Kirk
until he gives you reason to do otherwise.
Does it help a little bit that he had a touchdown callback?
Well.
I mean, at least you know know, he's out there.
He's getting opportunities.
I'm glad that he was on the field.
I mean, I would have a hard time starting him moving forward.
Okay.
Next week, you've seen what they've done to receivers so far this year.
Deontay Johnson's your other loser.
Is he dropping? He Is he droppable?
He's probably droppable.
Oh, yeah.
Jamie's losers were Jerome Ford and Rashad White.
And Dave, I think I deleted your loser.
Oh, no, there they are.
Cowboys running back.
Cowboys running back's Ann.
Michael, oh.
Cowboys running, I mean, Pittman.
That was, yeah, that was the guy I went to type in, and then I saw David already responded with him.
Pittman, again, the targets weren't bad.
He had seven targets, three catches for 21 yards.
I don't know how many of the targets were off-target throws from Anthony Richardson,
but I do know that through two games, he has zero explosive plays.
He has one red zone target.
He has zero end zone targets, and he's averaging under eight yards per catch.
He had one bad drop, and I think the rest of them
were probably off target.
Well,
are we just sitting Michael Pittman? Are we buying
low on Michael Pittman? Because his
value couldn't go much lower than this, right?
Well, I'm certainly not cutting
Michael Pittman, but I'm not excited to start
Michael Pittman.
I would trade for him if I could get him for a bench player,
but I don't think anybody's going to give him up for a bench player.
Scott also has the Bears and the Steelers in his next two games,
so that's not ideal.
Like in some miracle world, could I trade Deontay Johnson for Michael Pittman?
Yes, I would do that.
But we don't live in such a magical place where there's...
What about Wandale Robinson?
Calorie-free pizza?
No.
What?
You wouldn't trade Wandale Robinson for Michael Pittman?
No, I would.
I would say no to that if I had Pittman.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You'd give up Wandale.
But nobody would give up Jameson.
Oh, well, I know St. Brown's hurt.
Let's say St. Brown's playing.
No one's giving up Jameson Williams for Pittman, right?
No way.
Just throwing it out there.
I'm just thinking of a receiver that...
How about JSN? How about JSN for Pittman? No? No way. Just throwing it out there. I'm just thinking of a receiver that... How about JSN? How about JSN
for Pittman? No.
No. Alright, because we're talking about
a four-round discount on Pittman.
So...
Draft capital right now doesn't matter.
I might take it back on
JSN for Pittman.
Okay. Let's not lose sight
of what happened to JSN in week one.
At least Pittman has at least seven targets. Two straight games with Anthony Richardson. Let's not lose sight of what happened to JSN in week one. And at least Pittman has at least seven targets.
Two straight games with Anthony Richardson.
Let's go to the games.
Targets could go haywire if Joe Flacco ends up.
I always miss Thomas's comments.
They need to be out in the public.
Buy him now and stash him until Flacco starts later.
Yeah.
All right, let's go to the games.
Somebody else's potential misery.
Cleveland 18, Jacksonville 13.
And it was every bit that gross.
Yeah, we talked about most of this.
How about Jerry Judy, though?
It's two good games in a row.
We could call it a touchdown last week, but five for 73.
I don't know.
What do you guys want to talk about in this game, Cleveland-Jacksonville?
And if there's not much to talk about, we'll just move on. We don't have to.
Don't force it. Is Tank
Bigsby okay?
I don't know. We don't think
he came back in. Is Amari Cooper
okay? Because he has more targets
than Michael Pittman through the first two weeks of the season.
And he
might have fewer yards.
Yeah, he's been horrible.
Okay, well, how about this?
Let's talk about Brian Thomas Jr.,
who had two catches for 94 yards on four targets.
Would you rather have him than Christian Kirk?
Yes.
Yeah, there's more upside at this point with him.
Okay.
And that's something that the Jaguars can get behind, too,
is, all right, let's get the kid
more involved add that dimension to our offense some more and brenton strange might be someone
we pick up off waivers uh three catches for 65 yards on six targets that was evan ingham's
replacement at green bay 16 we know how long it was going to be out no no idea but just you know
one percent rostered could be a deep league option.
All right, Green Bay 16, Indianapolis 10.
The Packers had the ball for 40 minutes and 11 seconds.
Anthony Richardson with 11.9 fantasy points.
Jonathan Taylor with only 14 touches but for 135 total yards.
We talked about Pittman.
Anybody interested in Alec Pierce, his second good game in a row?
The only problem with both these guys is that Josh Downs was 50 50 to play this week and sounds like he's on the verge of returning so what happens when Downs is back how much does that even make
Pittman worse and Pierce somewhat irrelevant I wonder if he dials down all the targets to the tight ends
and Ashton Doolin goes back to the bench.
I feel like we should have put Malik Willis on this graphic.
He outscored Anthony Richardson today.
It's unbelievable, man.
Malik Willis threw for 122 yards, but he was 12 of 14.
Rear high.
Yeah.
Touchdown pass. Next week. So next week they're at Tennessee, right? for 122 yards, but he was 12 of 14. Rear high. Yeah.
Touchdown pass.
Revenge game next week.
So next week they're at Tennessee, right?
Revenge game, yes.
Josh Jacobs, 32 carries.
I think we can start him with Malik Willis.
How about that, Jamie?
Remember I gave that stat about Derrick Henry?
You know, it was funny.
We do our show on CBS Sports HQ with Logan Ryan, former cornerback with a few teams,
last play with the 49ers.
And he was saying how
Josh Jacobs is going to have a huge game today,
especially with Buckner banged up for the Colts.
And that's
the first thing that came to my mind was that,
and I said this on the air, that Malik Willis
helped, or Derek
Henry was great with Malik Willis.
Yeah, a lot of work.
And I credited you. Thank you.
Chargers 26,
Carolina 3.
And this is another time of possession game.
Chargers had the ball for 36 minutes and 18 seconds. Josh Palmer, I think
his snaps were a little bit limited. I don't know
if you want to check that, Dave, but Palmer came
into the game beat up. He was bad again.
Good game for
Chuba Hubbard. I mean, is there anyone
on the chargers
that you'd be hesitant to drop other than jk dobbins including mcconkey including palmer
including herbert i wouldn't drop mcconkey yet everybody else i think is droppable yep palmer
played less than half the snaps ever since he dropped the touchdown in week one he's been buns
quentin johnson had two touchdowns he palmer's an easy drop we're moving
not just two touchdowns either from quentin johnston dominated targets had like a 30 percent
target share yeah no it's it's it can't be nothing right i mean oh it's good money like
dominate targets when he doesn't throw that much that's his funny point. Six targets.
Johnston over Johnston?
Wait, who? What?
You dropped Deontay to pick up Quinton?
I mean, you're probably cycling
through that roster spot
until further notice anyway, so sure.
I wouldn't do that
personally. I do wonder if Josh Palmer,
I mean, the snap counts were down, but also
he came in hurt. He was questionable, so I feel like he's still working ahead of counts were down, but also he came in hurt. He was like questionable.
So I feel like he's still working.
It's fine that he came in hurt, but now it's two
straight weeks where a different receiver on the team
has shined. But it's also, they're
not going to throw very much and he's
not going to be the clear
cut guaranteed
target leader or leader of
the receiving core. So if
you are looking at it from players
on the waiver wire, like Josh Palmer is an easy guy to
move on from. Yeah, but for Quinton Johnston?
If
you're not starting Palmer,
which I don't know how anybody would be at this point,
like why would you not take a chance to see if Quinton
Johnston, who's a former first round pick,
might be something that
can develop into a player that
could become a
starter.
I wouldn't feel good about putting them right in your lineup though.
They play the Steelers in week three.
You're not starting it.
But that's,
that's better than Josh Palmer last week.
Like this is not like a one week thing.
Josh Palmer is just not one of the top two wide receivers.
Yeah,
it's true.
But so I'm not trying to make the case for starting Palmer over Johnson.
I'm saying if you pick up Johnson,
he's probably going to be on your bench for a over Johnson. I'm saying if you pick up Johnson,
he's probably going to be on your bench for a little bit at Pittsburgh in week three, maybe Kansas city week four.
They're on by in week five at Denver in week six.
Okay. That's enough.
Twins and Johnson talk.
It's just, it's just, who would you rather stash?
And at this point, the easy call is Quentin Johnson.
Chuba Hubbard did have a good game.
He's 70% rostered.
He only had 14 touches, but he did enough with it.
Vegas 26, Baltimore 23.
Holy moly, great win for Antonio Pierce and Las Vegas.
Now the Ravens and the Bengals are both 0-2.
The Steelers are 2-0.
Browns are 1-1.
All right.
Anyway, just looking at that division.
So we talked about Samir White.
He needs that goal line role, and he did not have it.
How about Adams and Bowers?
Big games for them.
Dave, your thoughts on the passing game for the Raiders?
It was good.
I don't know how many of the throws were that deep for Bowers.
I know Devontae had at least one.
And listen, let's give credit to Minshew.
38 pass attempts, completed 30 of them against a tough Ravens defense
with a good pass rush. That offensive line has been a huge question mark for the
Raiders. It stood up today. And it was really more of a second half thing. I know the first half
a lot of bad numbers in the first half for a lot of players in this game.
But he came through. Adams came through. Bowers has looked good now two straight weeks.
I think Bowers is a winner for sure.
We didn't talk about him as a fantasy football winner,
but two straight weeks with double-digit PPR points from tight end.
He might be tight end.
Could he be tight end two now?
Does he have more or fewer points than likely?
Oh, he's tight end one.
Is he?
Because likely had that monster game.
Yeah, I don't know.
I think likely might still have them.
So he had what?
Six for 68 last week.
So I think it was 58.
So let's call it 12 just to round up.
And then today it was nine for 98 on nine targets.
Well,
and a better question is how,
where would you rank Bowers amongst tight ends?
Rest of season.
Now he's top five.
I was going to say six, but five or six.
Yeah, I currently have likely at 30.7 and Bowers at 30.6.
Which side of this trade would you rather have?
Dalton Kincaid for Brock Bowers.
Oh, Bowers.
Okay.
I don't know.
I get it after two weeks, but you are talking about Josh Allen versus Minshew.
Let me say this about Minshew.
Last week, he was eighth.
Who did you rather have last year,
Stephon Diggs or Michael Pittman
at the way he played out?
Diggs.
What do you mean?
Diggs was better.
At the end of the season, who was better?
Are we comparing the first two weeks for those guys and then who was better at the end of the year? I mean better? Well, are we comparing like the first two weeks for those guys
and then who was better
at the end of the year?
I mean,
you're saying
you'd rather have the guy
for Allen
versus the guy for Minshew.
I agree,
but the way it played out,
the guy for Minshew
was better.
Yeah,
but,
okay,
so,
what was I saying?
Oh,
Minshew,
Minshew with eighth
in the NFL
in passing yards
in week one.
Right now,
going into Sunday night,
he's fifth.
Yeah.
So, it's good.
Like I always said.
You can't run.
Remember when we said they're going to be great running the ball?
Yeah, they can't do it.
You can't run the ball.
Yeah.
Okay, and then for the Ravens, Jackson with 18.4 fantasy points.
Derek Henry scores again.
Gets 18 carries, one catch.
Zay Flowers, a big game.
And Mark Andrews was just, eh.
And then likely was a dud.
What are you talking about? Mark Andrews scored
nine fantasy points.
That's a great day
at tight end. That offensive line
for Baltimore is so bad. It's a problem.
Four deep targets for Devontae today.
All right, but like
Flowers now has 21 targets
in two games. So I
know we were disappointed in his production last week.
He had a ridiculously low ADOT, but are we...
We said he was getting drafted too soon?
Yeah, were we wrong?
Is he going to have a big breakout season?
So far, we're wrong.
Yeah, we say so.
Mark Andrews is currently tied at eight for the week.
Right behind Britton Strange.
Just like we called.
Saints 44, Cowboys... What did they have? I i put nine but i don't think that's right i think they had 19 19 44 19 saints over the cowboys
so derrick carr is 45 percent rostered is he a must roster player in a one qb league
oh i would imagine every two a tongue of iloa fantasy manager is looking at Derek Hart right now.
Yeah, you should add him.
It's not a question.
Sell high on Alvin Kamara or just ride it out?
We're riding
this out.
I mean, if you could turn Kamara
into McCaffrey, would you do it now?
Hell no!
No way!
Who would you trade him?
Obviously, Brees.
Who else?
Who's ahead of Kamara?
Is Brees better than him?
I would trade Brees all.
The thing that's a little bit different
with Kamara this year
is that he's not losing
high-value touches
to Taysom Hill.
Not yet.
But that doesn't mean
he never will.
Right.
And now Taysom's hurt
on top of it.
Well, the other thing is
that he averaged
almost six yards
a carry today.
He's making huge plays.
He's just been a
catch volume-based guy
the last couple of years.
And now all of a sudden
everything in New Orleans
is awesome.
I know who won
coordinator of the year.
It's over after two weeks.
Olave.
We're cool with Olave.
He is a yard away from a touchdown. Four catches, 81 yards.
Another day. Derek Carter threw
16 passes. Right.
Is that right? We're cool with Olave,
but we're still happy with his defense dominating the way
it did two weeks in a row. Yeah, that's very
cool. Shahid's at least
a flex moving forward, too.
He continues to make big plays.
When you think about it. We have
Pittman,
Amari Cooper,
Kirk.
Right. So this is what I'm
saying. Are we trading...
Are we starting him? Yes.
But would you trade Rashid Shaheed
for those guys?
The only one would be probably...
I guess Pittman and Cooper. Not Kirk or Deontay Johnson,
for example.
I agree.
Okay.
And then,
on the other side of the ball...
I mean,
take your victory lap.
Alvin Kamara's awesome.
No, we don't do victory laps.
I mean,
you really went bold
when you called him a sleeper.
I said,
I qualified it.
I said,
people are sleeping on him.
And I believed they were.
And I think that is true.
Yeah, so I'm obviously happy with Kamara.
I wish I had more of Kamara.
Yeah, all right.
Other than that, what's that?
So does everybody.
So does everybody.
Dak Prescott, any concerns here?
He has not reached 15 points in either of his first two games.
FFO.
Yeah.
I don't know.
I'm not really freaking out.
Who are you starting
rest of season? Baker Mayfield or Dak Prescott?
Dak Prescott.
He's not reached what?
15.
There are only 14 quarterbacks
averaging 15 fantasy points per game right now.
Which is awful.
It's a bad stat.
Awful.
Like last week was forgivable for Dak
because he got a blowout win at Cleveland, right?
That's not a great setup for him.
This week was bad.
But I don't know.
I remember last year that he stunk
and then things changed so quickly.
He turned it up, yep.
All right, so what's the answer for you?
Baker Mayfield or Prescott, rest of the season?
His touchdown was also extremely lucky.
What are you saying?
Whose touchdown was lucky?
The touchdown at St. Lam was lucky.
Yeah, it was.
It was a breakaway.
I'm going to make you answer it, Jamie.
You've got to be on the record.
I'm sorry, what was the question?
Mayfield or Dak, rest of the season.
I'll take Mayfield.
Okay.
All right, Washington 21, Giants 18.
I was never a big Dak guy, though, this year.
Washington had the ball for 37 minutes and 32 seconds.
They kicked seven field goals, and they won the game.
All right, So believe it
or not, now is the time to sell Malik
neighbors.
No.
I could be
convinced. What am I turning them into?
Am I turning them into Michael Pittman?
Please don't do that. Hell
no. Well, why would
you like? Of course you're not the guy just had 127
yards and a touchdown was being drafted before michael pitman all right so mike evans coming
off a bad game would you rather have evans or neighbors move forward i would prefer evans
evans is probably the right answer there i don't know
what about gary wilson or malik neighbors oh wil Wilson in a second. Like, Wilson had more points.
Nabors had more points in this game than Wilson has in two.
Two games, right.
That's easy, right?
You guys would do that too?
Yeah.
Correct.
Yep.
Are we paying too much to Nabors' matchup in week two?
That's what I'm saying.
Like, you just try to sell everyone after Washington.
He had five for 66 in week one.
And that, I think think is probably the floor.
That's kind of what I was thinking.
Yeah.
I'm thinking that he can be better than that in PPR.
I would agree,
but our targets,
but he,
look,
what do you have last week? He had a 64% target share today.
This is their offense.
That's double what, at least double what it will be rest of season.
Is this not the Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb thing all over again?
They're just going to throw it to neighbors?
No, it's not the Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb thing.
Not at all.
They have no other choice but to throw it to neighbors.
You know what
ZDLAM's target share is?
Half of what neighbors was today.
But neighbors could have a 30% target
share. Absolutely. If he has
that, you're not going to want to sell him. But if you cut his stats
in half today, it's not quite
as impressive.
He also had a terrible drop that cost
them the game. Alright, Terry McLaurin,
buy low or heck no?
I'd buy low.
No, thanks.
I would buy low, but very low.
Rashid Shaheed or Terry McLaurin?
McLaurin.
Terry McLaurin.
I'm not making that trade either way.
Fair.
Seattle 23, New England 20.
This is a nice game if you had Walker and Charbonnet because Charbonnet got you the points, but probably didn't do enough to threaten Walker when Walker comes back.
14 carries, 38 yards and a touchdown. He also had five catches for 31 yards. That's the appeal. That's 19 or more touches, I think, in every game where he's filled in for Walker, either leaving early or missing the game. I agree with you, but it also feels like
every time Charbonnet gets a chance
to start, it's a not easy
matchup for him.
This Patriots defense is going to be better than we
give it credit for coming into the season.
He played the Cowboys and the Niners
last year, and they were not good run defenses.
They weren't bad, necessarily.
But you say that, though.
But they weren't.
Were they the Ravens?
No.
Are they still two of the better defenses in the NFL?
Yes.
Well, yeah, no, I get that.
But he's not facing, like, he didn't face the Texans.
He didn't face the Bears last year.
He didn't face these teams that give up three points.
He also didn't face Denver, like Walker did in week one.
Yeah, all right, fine.
So you're worried about Ken Walker?
No, no, no, no.
Like I said, I agree with you. I think what you said
is right. I don't think this was the game like you say,
oh my God, Ken Walker lost his job. No.
This is just...
I think every time Sharvin gets these chances,
it's like last year when
Roshan Johnson didn't get a chance to play because he was concussed
when...
What's his name? Khalil Herbert was hurt.
Right. I hear you.
It's just like he just falls into these tough spots.
Well, the story in this game to me is Ramondre Stevenson, guys.
21 carries, 81 yards and a touchdown, two catches for nine yards.
I was calling him a sell high.
Heath, you called him a sell high on Wednesday.
Sell high on Stevenson or keep it going?
I don't think he's as much of a sell-high now as he was then.
He's their best offensive player.
That you knew going in, but it's just obvious now.
The carries were a little more evenly split between him and Gibson this game.
Gibson had 11 carries.
He had 21.
And they had time of possession on their side.
So I wonder if that played a role in Gibson.
It feels like this is how they're going to play most weeks,
unless they're playing like a juggernaut and that's not happening next
week.
The jets,
they're playing a team.
They can't stop the run next week.
Yeah.
So Stevenson is going to continue to be a must.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's go.
I've had huge high value touch edge today over Gibson.
It was 25-7 in Week 1,
so that's a pretty significant difference
in terms of ratio.
That's fine.
Yeah, let's just move on here,
because Gibson was injured going into Week 1.
All right, Tampa Bay.
Oh, I'm sorry.
I might sell out on Stevenson after next week.
We've got to talk about Hunter Henry.
Hunter Henry, eight catches, 109 yards on 12 targets.
Jamie?
I think it's Jacoby Brissett.
Jamie, you're going to write the waiver wire column.
How are you going to be feeling about Hunter Henry?
I think between him and Mike Gusecki, they're must-add players.
Except Gusecki could get screwed by Higgins coming back.
Oh, for sure.
Yeah, I mean, there's circumstances for both of them.
But until Higgins comes back, why would. Yeah. I mean, there's, there's circumstances for both of them, but you know, until Higgins comes back,
why would you not be starting Mike a second?
And certainly Henry,
this is somebody we talked about in the preseason,
like has an opportunity to be a sleeper tight end,
no clear cut,
you know,
anything in the receiving core and then pelts coming from the Stefanski
coaching tree,
which is a tight end friendly offense.
And Bursette has this track record of leaning on his tight ends.
We saw that in week one. It just didn't work out for
Henry. It was, what's his face?
Hoopa. He had four
targets anyway.
Seven targets combined between the two
of them. Tampa Bay with a 20-16
win. Big win for the Buccaneers.
2-0. Detroit
ran 83 plays.
Tampa Bay ran 47.
My, oh, my.
Okay, Baker Mayfield.
Jamie's obviously buying into it a little bit
based on what he said earlier.
We like the matchups to start the year
with Washington and Detroit.
So, what do you think about Baker Mayfield?
Is he someone that we can rely on
as a top 12 guy rest of season?
They got to fix their right tackle.
Aiden Hutchinson nearly killed him.
It's true.
Yes. I mean, look,
this wasn't a great game, but
when you start to get to
quarterbacks that
produce, it's
not always how they do it.
It's just that they're doing it. And this is
now eight of nine games
going back to last year, including the playoffs with 20 more fantasy points. And I know Detroit
secondary, not great, but this was a Godwin game last week. It was a Godwin and an Edmonds game.
You're seeing, you know, um, uh, McMillan making plays in the 21-yard catch here was
the touchdown reception last week.
Rashad White's going to make plays
in the passing game most weeks.
This isn't a team I think
that you're going to say they're going to let him beat you running the ball.
It's going to be a lot of Baker Mayfield.
Why not take advantage of him when he's playing like this?
I made
the point this morning that the reason why
I was leaning Mayfield over Goff
is like when Goff gets near the end zone,
it's David Montgomery or Jameer Gibbs
running it in too much.
That just doesn't happen for the Bucs.
They tried a couple times
with Rashad White, as I recall today.
And he just,
they're not going to run
for that many touchdowns.
I think I called Mike Evans' goal line back.
It didn't work out today, unfortunately.
No, not today.
Godwin looks awesome.
Yes, he does.
Godwin was amazing, and we know that Evans is going to be fine.
He didn't have a big game this week, and they can't run the ball.
All right, let's go to Minnesota 23 and San Francisco 17.
What do you think about Brandon? Iuke four catches,
43 yards on five targets.
Debo had 10 targets.
Kittle had eight targets.
Those guys are having good seasons.
I use off to a slow start.
It's been a slow start for the,
for the one,
a new contract guys,
right?
Maybe,
maybe,
maybe,
well,
maybe,
maybe practice mattered a little bit.
Man was not great in week one. You're not going to do anything different with Brandon. I am. Maybe, well, maybe practice mattered a little bit. Man was not great in week one.
You're not going to do anything different with Brandon Ayuk.
You're going to start him again next week.
I don't feel very good about it, but he's going to remain a start.
I'd love to buy low on him.
Yep.
What do we think of Ty Chandler getting more carries than Aaron Jones?
Well, Jones left the game with an injury.
He came back from it.
But you should absolutely roster Ty Chandler.
My gosh, he looked great.
Oh, yes.
Jones played 12 more snaps and ran 15 more routes than Chandler,
so I guess it was pretty favorable for him.
And then Jalen Naylor, any interest there, 4% rostered?
Absolutely, if there's something wrong with Justin Jefferson.
I mean, Jefferson said he's playing next week, so hopefully that's the case.
That's a good thing then. That's good.
Jones had a catch and run, and then he fumbled at the goal line.
If he holds on to that football, no one's complaining about his stat line today.
All right, we're going to do one more game,
and we'll get to the late ones in a minute.
But Jets 24, Tennessee 17.
So we're feeling
good about Garrett Wilson as a buy-low.
Braylon Allen, man, stealing a couple
of touchdowns. Good game for him.
Anything else from this game?
Tajay Spears got hurt,
so obviously that's going to help Pollard.
Pollard's the guy.
Pollard's definitely the guy. He's looked great
the first two weeks of the season. He's dominated playing time. It's all good with Pollard. the guy. Pollard's definitely the guy. He's looked great the first two weeks of the season.
He's dominated playing time.
It's all good with Pollard.
And then one of Braylon Allen.
Braylon Allen, I think it was the short touchdown,
the 12-yard touchdown from Rodgers,
came while Brees Hall was being evaluated for an injury
and riding the stationary bike.
So I don't know if we should expect multiple touchdowns from Braylon Allen
that much,
but if Brees Hall has something,
if he's got an injury that's lingering and we'll know that from the practice
reports,
then yeah,
Braylon Allen can get in there and take some away from our Brees.
That would stink.
Definitely one of the top stashes.
Let's take a break.
And when we come back,
we will get into the late game starting with Arizona and the Rams.
We'll be right back on FFT.
Three games to go.
Rams and Cardinals.
It was a shellacking here,
and the Cardinals gained 489 total yards.
The Rams gained 245,
so the Cardinals doubled them up in total yards
and won by 31.
We already talked about the Rams receivers earlier.
Heath said Demarcus Robinson would be the guy he's most interested in.
All right.
James Connor.
Sell high or no thanks guy?
If you can sell high, go for it.
But otherwise, he's a no thanks guy.
He's going to continue to be the main cog of the run game.
This was a week where he didn't do anything target-wise.
Conor or McCaffrey?
McCaffrey.
It's almost like
the only reason to sell Conor is
if you just expect him to get hurt, which
is not a bad expectation because he's hurt every
year. If I'm 2-0, I
think I'd probably do that Conor for McCaffrey deal.
If I'm 0-2, I'd be thrilled to do the McCaffrey for
Conor deal. It's clear that he's going to I'd be thrilled to do the McCaffrey for Connor deal.
It's clear that he's going to be really good when he plays,
right?
I mean,
it's fair to say.
Yeah.
I don't think there's much else to say about Marvin Harrison,
Trey McBride. Again,
you're going to get those six points if you have that setting turn on.
And then are you worried about Kyron Williams right now with,
why am I hearing an echo?
I'm hearing an echo somewhere.
Are you worried about Kyron Williams with Kup and Nakua Hurt?
His targets went way up, right?
He had five targets.
They might have to throw to their running backs again now.
Yeah, I mean, that's a positive,
but the negative is that he's going to be easier to defend,
and the offensive line is still going through it right now.
They might be a little bit better at the tackle spots, haven't seen played. Eric Johnson will be
back next week. So maybe they can start to solve that problem.
But moving forward without Kup and Nakua, if that's what ends up happening,
is going to be a big-time problem for this Rams offense. And that goes
without saying. I don't think we can like Demarcus Robinson as the number one receiver
there. That's not a one-to-one
replacement by a long shot
over Kup and Nakua.
They don't have any way they can do what those two guys
do, and defenses are going to adjust accordingly.
And the Rams' defense isn't very
good, if you couldn't tell by the fact that they
gave up 41 points to the
Arizona Cardinals. Yeah, it was good
week one. They got really just a terrible day
for them. Pittsburgh 13, Denver 6.
What sucks about this Fields thing
is that like he's playing
well enough to keep the job
because he's not turning it over
and he's just like
letting the defense win.
But he's not giving us
any fantasy points.
It's like the worst of both worlds.
All right.
Najee Harris has 37 carries
in two games,
only two catches.
But are you optimistic or pessimistic for Najee Harris? And would you rather have Najee Harris has 37 carries in two games, only two catches. But are you optimistic or pessimistic for Najee Harris?
And would you rather have Najee or Javante Williams,
who did have five catches today, rest of season?
It's gross for both of them.
I would probably lean Javante in full PPR.
I do not really want to have anybody on these offenses on my team.
Oh, Pickens, Pickens.
Come on.
Justin feel I'm not cutting George Pickens, but I'm very unhappy about drafting George Pickens.
Okay.
I do not want to.
I wish I had not picked him when I did.
Although if I hadn't, I probably would have just taken T Higgins again.
That wouldn't have been great.
But he's thrown for 275 yards, Justin Fields, in two weeks.
It's going to be really bad.
I can't tell you how screwed he got.
He probably lost 100 yards at least in penalties today.
Right.
And a touchdown.
Right, but then the whole game would have been different.
He wouldn't have had all of those things. I understand what you're saying, but it's not like Justin Fields.
Justin Fields wasn't just created two weeks ago.
Yeah.
No, it's bad.
And Arthur Smith wasn't either.
We've put Arthur Smith and Justin Fields together,
and we're supposed to be excited to have the number one wide receiver
in that offense no instead we're crying about it i would rather have naji because i just don't
trust this denver offense cut or i know two pretty good defenses to start the year i i don't i don't
see them coming out of this giovante could get replaced at some point if he continues to average
one and a half yards per carry.
I just, I can't do it.
They're trying to replace him.
Who are they playing today?
Tyler Beatty?
I know that Sean Payton kind of digs Tyler Beatty.
Of course he does.
Of course he does.
That sounds exactly right.
Drop or hold Cortland Sutton.
Oh, I think he's droppable.
I'm going to try to hold him for another week and we talked a lot about the chiefs and the bangles 26 25 chiefs great finish look i bangles fans people gonna be like oh the chiefs get all the
calls was a penalty what are you supposed to like it was a pass interference penalty it was the right
call watching it live it did kind of feel like a call
just to go Kansas City's way.
And then you could see that it was absolutely pass interference.
The league kind of killed Dave's mic there
when he started talking about it.
Yeah, yeah.
Watching it live, I thought, oh, he hit him early.
Oh, he just gave him a forearm shiver to the back of the head
when the ball was near.
I thought he was making a play on the ball,
but instead he was mugging the guy. So that's why you get the benefit of the head when the ball was near. I thought he was making a play on the ball, but instead he was mugging the guy.
That's why you get the benefit of replay during games.
We talked about Mahomes.
We talked about Kelsey.
Let's talk about Zach Moss and Chase Brown.
Moss did not have a good game.
No, I think Chase Brown is the future there.
What?
I mean, come on.
How many games in a row is it going to be so clear that Zach Moss is the starting running back?
He's the goal line running back who didn't get into the end zone,
but he had his chances.
And yet it's always,
is that Jason?
Chase?
Why?
Come on,
Dave.
Why?
Because he's,
he looks better.
If you watch the games,
there's nothing that's really good about Zach Moss.
He struggles to gain ground.
He's not as elusive as Chase Brown.
There's something that's holding this coaching staff back from giving Chase
Brown more work.
And it might be that they both stink.
And if that's the case,
then this is going to be a problematic offense moving forward.
They're not just letting Joe Burrow throw the ball 45 times a game.
There's some really bad vibes on this Bengals team.
Jamar Chase needs to chill out.
I guess the sideline reporter said that he was mad because he felt like it was a hip drop tackle.
I didn't see anything wrong with the tackle.
Did you?
No.
I don't know.
But yeah, he and Burrow were yelling at each other, and he and Burrow were yelling at each other,
and he and the coach were yelling at each other.
You see what he said about Justin Jefferson a few weeks ago
when they were asking him about, like, what was that all about?
Yeah, he's really angry.
They should give him a new contract and see if that fixes things.
All right, we're out of here for today.
Thanks, everybody.
We will talk to you tomorrow with Beyond the Box score
at noon Eastern
at youtube.com slash fantasyfootball
today. Have a good one.
