Starting point is 00:00:00 This is fantasy football today from CBS Sports. What a play! Can you believe this? It's a no idea. It's time to dominate your fantasy league. Up to the races and he stays on his feet. It's just going to go the distance. Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
Starting point is 00:00:19 Week 2, waiver wire. We've got some good ones for you here. We got a rookie who just had the 10th most receiving yards in the last 20 years in week one. for any rookie wide receiver, that's pretty cool. We've got Devon Bailey. We've got, I think actually, look, it might be Fool's goal, but maybe a decent running backs week,
Starting point is 00:00:41 which we don't always get here. And we've got Dave Richard and Jamie Eisenberg. I am Adam Azer. Welcome to the show. We also have a show at noon Eastern on CBS Sports Network to help you out more. If you don't see it there, you can see it on CBS Sports HQ at 2 p.m.
Starting point is 00:00:52 And on YouTube.com slash fantasy football today. Good morning, Dave. Yo. Good morning, Jamie. I love Ken Walker. Wow. Broncos couldn't tackle last night. I told you'd be a stomping. I was thinking about you the whole time with that. I think I can tell you now I made a bet, you know, not a big bet, but I made a bet two team parlay. I was like, these two underdogs are definitely going to win. So we're going Packers Money Line and Broncos money line and we are cashed in. So it's $10. I'm not getting back. Let's jump right into it. Top three.
Starting point is 00:01:29 waiver-wire priorities, Jamie Eisenberg. Yeah, Devon Vela, you mentioned him. Strong start to the season. First game without Jordan Tyson. I don't know they're going to have that many pass attempts on a weekly basis, but I think they're going to throw the ball a lot. I think it's going to be one of the more fun offenses. So must add and potential must start as long as Tyson's out.
Starting point is 00:01:48 Caleb Douglas will probably have a different Dolphins receiver on a week-to-week basis, but for right now he was the best one in week one. We'll see if Chris Bell gets going and if Malik Washington continues to lead them in targets. But he should also be a must-ad. And then Kalyn Black, you might be able to start him this week against the dolphins because the dolphins are bad. So we know what his potential is if something happens to McCaffrey. And as we saw in week one, feels like they're going to use him quite a bit in tandem with McCaffrey.
Starting point is 00:02:12 So potential flex play on a weekly basis. All right. We got Valet, Caleb Douglas, and Kalon Black for Jamie. Dave, who are your top three priorities? I would sub out Caleb Douglas for the Bucks, DST. They're out there in a ton of leagues and they play Cleveland. And so I would rather have the DST rather than taking a chance. And Jamie said, we're going to be picking a different Dolphins wide receiver.
Starting point is 00:02:33 For what it's worth, I did think Caleb Douglas's speed was a differentiator for him. I just hated the fact that Malik Wills was just throwing it willy-nilly, 20 plus yards downfield in the second half. That was just odd to me. There are some people that are going to see Jalen Koker and Debo Samuel on the Waver Wire in their shallow leagues. Yeah, prioritize them. Coker for sure. And Debo probably over Velae. That's a close call.
Starting point is 00:03:02 But those guys should absolutely be rostered in 100% of leagues. Yeah, Matthew Golden, too. He had a 30% target share. He did run 25% of Matthew Golden's routes were go routes, which is not a good route for fantasy. So that's not great, but definitely some shallow league-wide receivers that, like, who's your favorite? Is it Coker's number one of the shallow league?
Starting point is 00:03:23 Coker's number one. I mean, you're not to ask me. yeah, and then Debo or Golden? I would take Golden. I think I would too. What's his roster ship? It's pretty high.
Starting point is 00:03:37 He's less than Debo. He's 77 and Debo's 80. Okay, so I figured that Golden was drafted more often than Debo, but sure, if Golden's out there, you should take him ahead of Debo. I liked a lot of his role. The Go-Rots obviously were a problem, but he got peppered when they were chasing
Starting point is 00:03:54 points. Yeah, you could play a lot. If you're getting 12 goal route targets, I'm fine with that. You know, I guess that's okay. No, he wasn't getting 12 goal route targets. I know. I'm just saying, he got 12 targets in the game. 12 targets is great.
Starting point is 00:04:07 30% target share for a team that was very, very pass heavy. And I think I'd be remiss to not mention Chris Brooks. You know, he didn't have a good game, but there wasn't really, he started. He played, I think, the entire first possession. trying to figure out the rotation there. I don't really think there was one, except for Brooks on passing downs. But, you know, you might.
Starting point is 00:04:29 Which didn't really matter. Yeah, they combined for two targets, those two. But Marshawn Lloyd, I didn't think did great in pass protection. One play, he got run over a little bit, and ball got tipped and intercepted. I think Chris Brooks. This will be a more telling game for the backfill. I mean, they're going to be able to run against the tight,
Starting point is 00:04:46 against the jets. And, you know, we'll get an idea, and hopefully we get an idea this week about Josh Jacob. and what his status is, so you know what is the situation for the Packers' Backfield moving forward. All right, so you both said, Velae and Kalon Black.
Starting point is 00:04:59 Jamie said Caleb Douglas and Tampa Bay DST for Dave. And I'll just, just to read real quick here, the top 10 rookie wide receivers over the last 20 years in yards in week one. Did I say it?
Starting point is 00:05:15 Does that make sense? Yep. Marquis Brown, Eddie Royal, Terry McLaren, Pooka Nakua, Alan Hearns, Will Fuller, Deshawn Jackson, Jamar Chase, A.J. Brown, Caleb Douglas. Pretty good list. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Yeah, Eddie Royal. Funny you say Eddie Royal. I was taking one of my son's friends to basketball practice yesterday, and he said Eddie Royal is his flag football coach. Oh, really? He was wide receiver 12 per game as a rookie. Crazy. Also, a couple things. You think if Davis Webb was calling place for him, he would only give him two targets,
Starting point is 00:05:51 like he gave Jalen Waddle. Oh, man. First waiver wire week, so just a few things. Jamie writes the waiver wire column and the threshold that we use for players that we say, oh, go add these guys is 65% rostered or less. And we'll tell you about the shallow league guys too.
Starting point is 00:06:06 And we'll tell you about the deep league guys a little bit later. But 65% or less. Now, if you play on ESPN or Yahoo, a lot more 10 team leagues there. So the roster percentages are much different. I'd be curious to know what Jalen Coker, we'll find, I'll find out for you in a minute, what Jalen Coker's roster
Starting point is 00:06:23 percentages on ESPN and Yahoo, because he's 70% rostered on CBS. So a lot of the guys that we talk about here is shallow league guys. If you play on the other websites, might be available. I'm not, sleeper's kind of in the same boat. CBS, I think, has, you know, more 12 team leagues and deeper leagues. How much fab are we spending Jamie on some of your favorites? Well, I mean, if we're going to factor in Coker and Golden and some of those guys, then it changes the conversation because those guys are, I don't want to say break the bank, but there are more than 50%, certainly in the case of Coker, as long as his ankle's okay.
Starting point is 00:06:54 In the case of the guys that we're going to talk about, probably not much. So I would spend maybe 10 or 15% on Velae, maybe at most 10% on Douglas. Kalin Black is probably a 10% or 15% guy, depending on if you have McCaffee or not, if you need running backs. The one thing about this week is that's a little tricky
Starting point is 00:07:11 for fantasy managers, and there's some people that have multiple guys in this scenario, is wide receiver got really beat up. And we have two guys that are must-starts when healthy that we don't know their status yet in Latin Mocque and Zay Flowers. So you tack that onto A.J. Brown and Dijon Stribling and, you know, Jacoby Lane as two as three guys that are going to miss significant time. Brown clearly the one that you have to replace from a must start standpoint.
Starting point is 00:07:36 So receiver is probably the one position that you may have to spend a little bit more than you want to just to make sure you get the guy that you need. And Velae would be that guy just because of his roster percentage is 7%. So you could get into a little bit of a bidding war there. otherwise I think the most spent fab guys will be probably Carson Wentz and maybe if he's available, Michael Penix and then Drew Locke because we know Super Flex leagues to find quarterbacks is tough. And Donald could miss multiple weeks. We don't know the situation with Kyler Murray and maybe Wentz keeps the job all season if the Vikings like what he does in week two.
Starting point is 00:08:11 So I think those are the probably players you spend the most on. And Dave mentioned the Bucks. That's a great DST to get. there are other ones out there also that have good matchups. So remember when you're streaming, you know, you don't want to overpay for just one week, especially if you're O&1, people get a little nervous and they panic. But those are, you know, good units, you know, good fantasy options to spend some money on. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:33 So Dave, any, I'm sorry, before I move on, any thoughts from you on Fab this week? I would go even lower than 10 to 15% on most of these guys. Just save it up. Okay. Now, looking at some roster percentages on the other. websites here. Jalen Coker is 60% on Yahoo, about 50% on ESPN,
Starting point is 00:08:52 about 70% on CBS. Jordan Love on ESPN or on just on Yahoo. Jordan Love, I think, was like 45%. No, that was ESPN. Whatever, it doesn't matter. He's available in a lot of leagues. That could be a guy that could really help you.
Starting point is 00:09:06 I mean, he just scored 23 fantasy points against Minnesota. He is 68% rostered on Yahoo, but not even 42% rostered on ESPN. So there are some shallow league guys that I guess it would be Coker, maybe Jordan Love. I don't know if there's a running back that fits that mold. No, there really wasn't any in the shallow leagues for us.
Starting point is 00:09:28 Yeah. Okay. Well, anyway, Packers' offense looked pretty damn pass-heavy, and that's exciting. We'll see what happens, though, if Josh Jacobs comes back at some point. Some news and notes for you. Deshawn Watson, likely to start. We got the Kyler Murray concussion. We don't yet know who at least.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Atlanta's quarterback is going to be. It could be, I guess I would say, any of the three of them against Carolina this week. Trayvion Henderson, did he officially practice yesterday? They didn't have to have a practice report yet. So it was basically he's going to be out there is what the reports were prior to practice. So we'll see what they list him as. But I believe Rayble said he has a chance to play this week. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 00:10:11 And they're playing Pittsburgh this week. Isaiah Pacheco is going to be out several months after. back surgery. Jordan Mason has a sore thumb. If there's ever somebody who mushed a player with you, it was just your auction strategy. That's all it was. It was,
Starting point is 00:10:26 I'm going to let everybody know that I want Isaiah Bacheco. And then you, the tweet yesterday, the post on X from Ian Rappaport was, there was a body in his back. And I was thinking, is Adam? Oh, Jesus.
Starting point is 00:10:41 I didn't want Isaiah Pacheco. I wanted Javier Gibbs. Jordan Mason has a sore thumb. So Aaron Jones could be a must start this week at Chicago if Jordan Mason's out. Buffalo running back Ty Johnson was listed as limited in practice. They're playing Thursday against Detroit. We were curious to see what this would mean for James Cook's passing totals. He did not run a single route on third down in week one.
Starting point is 00:11:04 Jeremiah Love apparently was not on a snap count, which is not super encouraging in the short term against Seattle this week. Dylan Samson is going to be out for a while, and Rahim Sanders was basically the third down back for Cleveland. Cleveland. A.J. Brown, IR could be out for six weeks. Zay Flowers. We have great news on Zay Flowers. Doesn't seem like it's a big deal with the hamstring, hopefully playing this week against the Saints. And Jacoby Lane, on the other hand, does have a broken wrist, unfortunately. Lad Mokonki, we're still waiting to hear. He has injured ribs. And Brian Thomas Jr.
Starting point is 00:11:36 is expected to play this week. Jalen Coker did sprain his ankle. We don't have to mention that. If you want to put in some fab and it may... But he said he sprained it in the first quarter. Right. He was in a walking boot. He expected. to play, you should be fine. So, you know, good stuff. Dejohn, Stribling, could be out four weeks. Omar Cooper Jr. left for the Jets. Brock Bowers is day-to-day.
Starting point is 00:11:56 They're calling him day-to-day. So keep that in mind if you are thinking about picking up or starting Michael Mayer this week. Chigo-Conquo, hamstring injury. You've got Detroit, how many, you know, how much attrition can they afford on their offensive line? Offensive guard, Christian Mahogany may not play this week. I don't think he's going to play this week on the short week
Starting point is 00:12:15 against Buffalo. And then Landon Dickerson on IR for the Eagles, who didn't do great up front. I think Jacob gave a stat on Beyond the Box score yesterday that Sequin Barclay, all but one of his rushing yards, were after contact or something like that. Yes, yes, I saw that. That was crazy.
Starting point is 00:12:34 It's tough. Yeah, so Landon Dickerson being on IR is not a good thing for them. He's a fantastic guard for the... Ashen Gentie can relate. Yeah, exactly. And then I'd say the big defense, We don't know about Aaron Donald's status this week. Kansas City cornerback Munster Delane had an interception and then he left in the first quarter.
Starting point is 00:12:54 And the Texans have two linebackers who are hurt, one an inside linebacker, one an outside linebacker. And the Cowboys, actually not the worst news for them with Malik Hooker and Damarian Overshone. They're not going to play this week unless Overshow makes a miraculous recovery, but they don't have super long-term injuries. And then the Jets have two defensive backs who are banged up facing the Packers this week. let's go to our top three players at each position. So we'll give you a little sneak peek of the waiver wire,
Starting point is 00:13:21 and then we'll go more in depth later. Jamie, who are our top three quarterbacks this week? Top three quarterbacks this week are Jacoby Brissette, Bryce Young, and Malik Willis. So for Brissette, you kind of know what you're getting. 19 plus fantasy points in 10 of 11 starts last season, just shy of 19 fantasy points. In week one, 37 pass attempts.
Starting point is 00:13:43 They're going to be in most games, either chasing points or having to throw. I know Jeremiah Love is going to get better, and the run game, I thought, was significantly better than what we saw a year ago. But we know what this defense is, and I think we're going to get some better offensive showings against them than what would happen with the Chargers.
Starting point is 00:13:59 Bryce Young, six of his last nine games going back to last year, he scored 20 or more fantasy points. And that kind of coincides with when Jalen Coker got healthy. So you get Coker on the field. Hopefully he's going to be okay. Bryce Young may be a better fantasy quarterback than we were giving him credit for coming into the season.
Starting point is 00:14:14 and if this defense is as bad as it looked in week one, we may get 30 plus pass attempts for him as well. So not a bad sneaky option there if you want to stash him on your bench. And look, Malik Willis did not play well against the Raiders. That was going to be one of his easier opponents for the season. That said, 39 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. He's going to give you those type of – he's going to give you the potential for those type of numbers on a weekly base, certainly the yards.
Starting point is 00:14:37 And so if he can cobble together 220 and maybe one as opposed – or one-in-one or 220 and one with that. out a turnover, there's going to be some flaws in his game. Like Dave said, he's going to, you know, be under duress. He's not going to look good. The receiving course still clearly work in progress. But we love running quarterbacks. And so still the upside there for him, especially when they're chasing points so much like he's
Starting point is 00:14:59 going to be doing. Okay. So again, it's Jacoby, Brissette, Bryce Young, and Malik Willis. And I love Jamie pointing out that even in a, what we expect to be a rare win for the Cardinals, maybe we're wrong. He's still through the ball so much. So that's very encouraging. And you had a good game against Seattle last year.
Starting point is 00:15:17 I don't know if Jamie mentioned that. He did. Yeah, not only did he have a good game against Seattle last year, and then he scored the sixth most points of any quarterback against Seattle, including their playoff run. He scored the most fantasy points of any quarterback against Houston last year. He was just really good. And then Bryce Young, man, I just can't shake it.
Starting point is 00:15:35 He was so good that I'm wondering, you know, who to drop for him, you know, which backup quarterback? Do I drop Bow Nix for Bryce? Sean? I mean, when we're talking backup quarterbacks, first off, check the by week of your starter and see what is going on that week. Because if you like the match up for your backup or whoever's on the waiver wire, clearly that's the smartest thing to do.
Starting point is 00:16:00 If you're dealing with, I think, a struggling starter, you know, so Justin Herbert, for example, I don't know who else was a must-start guy that had a bad game that might be a little bit cause for panic just because Herbert might not have his number one guy for a week or two. then you might want to just take the chance on the quarterback with the most upside. And so if you're weighing Bryce Young versus Boe-Nicks, that's a fair comparison. So those would be the first things I would look for.
Starting point is 00:16:24 I would much rather have Jordan Love than Bryce Young. But I think at this point, you could take a chance on Bryce Young over Bo Nix. Knicks probably has a better season, but after week one, like, there's reasons to be concerned, and there's certainly reason to be encouraged by Young. With the win this next tough matchup, Bryce Young. Look at his schedule and tell me when he's got a matchup where he's going to be under pressure.
Starting point is 00:16:47 He's taking on a tough secondary. When do you see that either? Philadelphia, I don't know what Cleveland is going to look like. They're week three, but Philadelphia is week six. Yeah. He also is early by week five. I do think part of the success that the Panthers had in week one had to do with the bears, not being able to get a lot of pressure on Bryce Young and their secondary.
Starting point is 00:17:06 They have one great corner, and their other corners got smashed. So I look at the schedule for Bryce Young and I'm encouraged. I just don't know when would I start Bryce Young in a 1 QB league? And who am I going to start over? We talked about some of the names that were a little freaked out by. Maybe you could pull it off there. But at least if you want to have the option, if you've got Justin Herbert, if you've got Drake May and you want to go and you want to pick up one of these quarterbacks
Starting point is 00:17:32 and Bryce Young certainly should be an option, just in case you want to have a plan B if you get cold feet with plan A. Okay, let's take a break here. I think Apex Fuzzy, just had the, or Fusey, whatever you say, had the best comment. Just don't carry a backup quarterback. Yeah. So there's that. You could do that. Okay, we're going to take a break and come back.
Starting point is 00:17:53 Dave's going to give us the top three running back priorities for you after this on fantasy football today. My companion for this summer season has been Z biotics. Let me tell you why. Just headed out to a concert at Pier 17. Howlmouth? What a show. I got home at 3 a.m. and I realized 8 a.m. tea time, what am I going to do? I got a big match. No worries at all.
Starting point is 00:18:14 I took Zbiotics the night before, had a few drinks, woke up the next day like nothing happened, got to that course at 7 a.m., warmed up, and won my match. Zbiotics, pre-alcohol probiotic drink is the world's first genetically engineered probiotic. It was invented by PhD scientists to break down acetaldehyde, a byproduct of drinking alcohol. Pre-alcohol produces an enzyme that is designed to break down this byproduct. Make pre-alcohol your first drink of the night, drink responsibly, and enjoy your next day activities. Zbiotics has sold more than 14 million bottles and earn the trust of thousands, including us. Try for yourself today and if you are unsatisfied, they will refund your entire order. No questions asked. Head to Zbiotics.com back slash FFT.
Starting point is 00:19:02 Code FFT for 15% off your first order. We are back. All right, Dave. who are the top three running back priorities? I think Kalon Black makes sense as the top guy available just under our threshold. 38% of CBS leagues, you'll find them available a little bit more often in those ESPN and Yahoo leagues. I would have Emmett Johnson second. I don't really have a good third one. There's names like Devin Singletary, Tajay Spears, Tyler Algier, maybe if you want to go deeper,
Starting point is 00:19:33 there's Ketron Allen and Braylon Allen. Why not Tyler Algear? He had 17 carries. Because I don't know how often that's going to be the case. I don't think it's going to stick. And so am I really going to start Tyler Alger? Anytime soon with the schedule that they've got. We've talked all offseason about how tough their schedule is.
Starting point is 00:19:53 Yeah. I would love to have Algeria if I have Jeremiah love. Otherwise, he's going to take up a spot on my bench. I would almost think that Kalon Black is an upgrade. Anyway, I have Devin Singletar is my third favorite running. back, but not married to it. Would you drop Jonathan Brooks for Kalon Black? Yes.
Starting point is 00:20:15 I don't know. I don't know if I'm there. Dave, would you take a look at that avatar or whatever for Gabe or Eric? Yeah. Okay. Jamie, you said you would drop Jonathan Brooks for Kaylee? Yeah, I mean, I know it's one week and you don't want to panic after one week, but we're talking about the amount of
Starting point is 00:20:38 work that they gave Kalon Black in their first game against the Rams, and he looked as good as he did. And then you have the, oh, bleep, I won't say the word for you, oh, bleep, Christian McAfee gets hurt. I want that. Makes sense. Makes sense. Okay. So Kalon Black, Emmett Johnson, Tyler Alger is a possibility. Tyler is also the most rostered of all these guys. He's 65% rostered. If he were 66%, he'd be in a different discussion, I guess. Yes, and going back to the quarterbacks, for example, Tyler Suck is 66% rostered. So if he's... Oh, yeah, Bill get him.
Starting point is 00:21:13 Tyler, Alger, 42% rostered on ESPN and on Yahoo, Alger is 51% rostered. Okay. Wide receivers, Jamie, top three. Yeah, this is a lot of guys that you'll see in the column. I don't think we'll get to all them today, but Velae would be the first one to go add just because of what he looked like. And again, going back to last season, 11.9 PPR points in now three of his last four games.
Starting point is 00:21:44 We don't know when Jordan Tyson is going to be back. So I think Velley makes sense for what he looked like in week one against Detroit and going back to last year. Caleb Douglas, again, would be second for me. And a priority ad just because the Dolphins receiving court right now is clearly a work in progress and we'll see how this goes. And then I have Trey Harris third just because of the Ladman-McConkie injury. You can put a Patriots guy here if you want.
Starting point is 00:22:06 You could put a Texans guy here. You could put Trey Tucker still here. There's just a lot of different options at wide receiver. Again, we'll show you the whole list if you want. But if McConkey's out, Harris is going to get a bigger role. And I think we'll see a much better Chargers offense, especially taking on the Raiders this week. Dave, top three tight.
Starting point is 00:22:25 So Devon, Vela, Caleb Douglas, Trey Harris, or Jamie's top three waiver wire wide receivers. Before I get to tight ends. Where do you have to Mario Douglas? Because he's in my top three for sure. If I knew DeMario Douglas is going to have a better opportunity, given the fact that the Patriots are so stubborn and still love Matt Collins, and I'm going to guess we're going to get a better Romeo Dobbs.
Starting point is 00:22:47 Douglas is much further down the list. I would, if I'm picking up, and the way I wrote this in the column, is I would love to see DeMario Douglas get more better targets, a little better opportunity. Matt Collins has been just this guy that they love. he's one of these veterans that does all the right things. So Douglas is not the Patriots receiver. I would add first if I need somebody from a floor standpoint.
Starting point is 00:23:12 And let's put it this way. Let's say I needed a wide receiver to start this week because you talked about it. Like there's a bunch of wide receivers that are banged up and people might be desperate or they're unhappy with the receivers that they had in their wide receivers three spot. Vela is number one with a bullet. Douglas makes sense as the number two. But if we're trying to put a little. You're saying Caleb, Douglas, not tomorrow. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:34 I met Caleb Douglas. Thank you. It's early. Tomorrow Douglas would be one of those receivers. I'd want to stash and see what happens for a week or two. And I think it's got to be full PPR. But he's absolutely somebody that's on the list. Adam,
Starting point is 00:23:48 I know you've talked in the past about big opportunities for him last year when there was no Stefan Diggs on the field. I know that without AJ Brown on the field, he had the same target share as Matt Collins. It was 22% in that quarter and a half about against Seattle last. last week. And there have been good before way back through training camp in New England. And I would imagine that he's still going to see a role
Starting point is 00:24:12 at least as like a short area receiver. But he lost him a little bit more. And I can't rule out that he's not one of those guys that could be in the neighborhood of 11 PPR points. Yeah. That's what we're looking at here. Five catches for 20 yards. You expect more than 20 yards. But I feel like every year
Starting point is 00:24:28 there's some period of time where we're excited about DeMario Douglas. But last year he had a 29.1% target per outrun rate when Stefan Diggs was not on the field. They basically played the same position. So that wasn't really a good setup for Pop Douglas. Now he doesn't have Stefan Diggs. Obviously, he doesn't have A.J. Brown.
Starting point is 00:24:49 I can certainly see the appeal. But Dave, how about, you know, maybe Hunter Henry's on this list here. Who are your top three tight ends on the waiver wire? The only one that I really would care about would be Michael Mayer, and that's under the assumption that Brock Bowers doesn't play. We don't know if that's going to happen. I guess guys like Dalton Schultz, Pat Friermuth, would make the list. But I'm not too enthused about many tight ends.
Starting point is 00:25:16 Jamie's got Schultz, Mayor, Hunter, Henry. I do think that you have to throw David Najoku in there right now with the McConkey injury. He's not far down low. Yeah. So not terrible options. I mean, Mayor was so disappointing in this game against Miami. Should we even go back to him? Again, seven targets in a game where they're playing with a lead, we're not going to see that very often, I think, for the Raiders. Now, depending on what you think of the Chargers, that probably changes your mind a little bit. But his track record, small sample size, going back to last year when Bowers has been out. And I'm happy that Kubiak said Bowers is day to day. I'm going to guess it's more week to week still. So I think Mayer is a good short-term answer. I was,
Starting point is 00:26:01 encouraged by Dalton Schultz getting eight targets again against the Bill's defense that different personnel but still very good against tight ends at least in one game. So if he's going to continue to be second on the Texans and targets, it's going to be much like we saw last year. So for me, he's an easy ad if you need a tight end for this week. I'll give you one more. I'm going to look at a lot of Bucks players in that matchup against Cleveland, but Kate Otten could potentially be low end, lower than the guys that we've said.
Starting point is 00:26:27 But maybe he can find the end zone if you're really, like streaming tight ends, looking for matchups, that's somebody that I'd look at. So before we get to DSTs and kickers and stuff, is there any player that you think might be a potential league winner on the waiver wire? Or if that's too strong, then a must start. A lot of times waiver wire, you're just looking for a guy that we can stream in good matchups, whatever.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Must start guys rest of season. Vailay. I'm not quite there with Vailay. All those shallow guys, like the two that make the most sense to me are Coker and Shuck, but they're already rostered pretty highly in a lot of the leagues that we have at CBS. But if they're out there in your league, absolutely going to get them. They could be those guys. And obviously, Kailon Black has some huge contingency upside.
Starting point is 00:27:21 What about Caleb Douglas? I don't think you need to be there yet or should be thinking that yet because as Chris Bell gets healthier, he could take a bigger target share and have a bigger opportunity. I think, you know, you heard me say there's plenty leading into week one. Like, Chris Bell was somebody I wanted to stash. Like, you can easily pivot from Bell to Douglas now because Douglas was the one of the started training camp to look awesome before Bell was cleared. Douglas looked awesome in week one.
Starting point is 00:27:48 Douglas joined a pretty impressive list, as you alluded to Adam with the Ricky wide receivers to have week one performances. So that's an easy move to make. But to say league winner now, it's probably a little bit too soon. And you might be rotating that Dolphins wide receiver on an off the whiverwire all year. I know. He looked,
Starting point is 00:28:05 he looked pretty good in the preseason. He did. I agree. He looked good against the Raiders. I think he's a, I think Caleb Douglas might just be a, a steal that we all thought was like, like, kind of like stribling,
Starting point is 00:28:15 but around later, you know, that we thought was a reach, but it's actually a good player. You're not, you're not wrong. And, you know, again,
Starting point is 00:28:22 I trust his evaluations a lot. Pete Priscoe said post-draft, everybody's excited about Bell. I like Douglas better. Mm-hmm. And you got to change. to see why. Like the the sideline catch that he had where it looked like it was out of bounds at first. He dragged his right toe as he's catching the ball. Like that's that's a veteran play.
Starting point is 00:28:43 You know, like you see those type of things like he's going to, I think they have a good nucleus, you know, so when they get the quarterback right, fix some offensive line stuff still, they're going to be in a good spot. Right. And the quarterback is part of the problem. That was not a good game for Malik Willis throwing downfield. And speaking of downfield, I don't love this for Caleb Douglas, and it was only one game, but he did have a very high average route depth. So
Starting point is 00:29:09 so did everybody for Miami. Like even Malik Washington had a crazy eye route. Okay, okay. It's probably... Or at least a dot. I'm not sure about route depth. Yeah, his route. But that's somebody too. Like, we talk about receivers that might be able to get you 10 p.PR points. I think Malik Washington can still do that
Starting point is 00:29:25 even if Caleb Douglas continues on the role that he's on. Do you think Jordan Love and Matthew Golden are potential must-starts going forward? Who is the first name? Jordan Love. Jordan Love. Oh, I mean, you know how I felt about this when Jacobs was injured. Jordan Love, when he averages over 30 past attempts per game, when he throws over 30 past
Starting point is 00:29:50 attempts per game, is typically a 23-point-per-game quarterback. That's what he averaged in his career. So if you give him those chances and you give him those opportunities, he's going to reward you. And so when Jacobs comes back, we don't know what that timeline is. That might change. But I thought Jordan Love played really well. The interception was off a tip. His offensive line fell apart almost immediately after they took the points off the board.
Starting point is 00:30:15 So take that into account. That's still a really good Minnesota defense that he was carving up to start the game. I don't know. I'm very encouraged. And we saw, didn't see the best of Jaden Reed, didn't see the best of Tucker Kraft. We might have seen the best of Matthew Golden. And Christian Watson looks like a monster. So, like, this could be a really fun passing game.
Starting point is 00:30:34 I'm not sure that this run game will ever be on track this year. And that's enough for me to certainly roster and have optimism for both love and golden. I don't know if I'm ready to say that either one will be a league winner. However, we talked a little bit on Sunday about the contingency upside with valet. Let's mention that again real quick. Vele right now, clearly the number two wide receiver in New Orleans. We saw Chris Olive leave the field a bunch of times. We don't know when Jordan Tyson will be back.
Starting point is 00:31:01 We don't know how effective Jordan Tyson will be or how long it will take him. So there's some huge contingency upside with Devon Vele. We know that Christian Watson is not exactly the man with perfect health. And if he were to miss time, who's the number one wide receiver for Green Bay? So there's some huge contingency upside for a guy that just had double-digit targets. So I think I'd probably lean closer to Golden than Love as being one of those league winner types that you're talking about, Azer. One last guy here for shallower leagues or if you're playing Yahoo, he's 49% rostered. Debo Samuel had six catches for 48 yards and a touchdown.
Starting point is 00:31:37 He also had a 12-yard carry. And is this a guy that's a massive priority if you see him on the waiver wire? Debo Samuel. Yeah. I mean, stripling's out for probably a month, if not more. And Mike Evans was banged up a lot in camp. So we saw it last year with Deal. We got up to a great start with Washington.
Starting point is 00:31:55 You know, and there's still the potential for him to be good. You take the touchdown away. It's not a great game. But, you know, I think you see what the 49ers are, again, another great offense as they continue to show in week one. So as long as Debo is healthy, I think he's going to be in play as at least a number three receiver. Yeah. Miami and then Arizona next two weeks. He's given me like Keenan Allen vibes in the sense that he might, he might mess things up for George Kittal.
Starting point is 00:32:25 or Evans or something like that. He's not a bad player, and he's going to get his targets. That's a lot of malice defeat in San Francisco. Thankfully, they're going to score a ton of points. Okay, so we've given you our top three at each of the four major positions here. We're going to give you DST kicker,
Starting point is 00:32:44 also going to recap last night's game. But right now, it is time for coverage you can count on, sponsored by Nationwide, just like your fantasy roster is more than just your offensive starters. Nationwide is a good. great insurance company and one of America's largest financial services companies. So don't forget about the defensive side of the ball.
Starting point is 00:33:03 And remember, Nationwide is on your side. Jamie, who's the DST that should be on our side this week? Yeah, Dave mentioned the Bucks. I'm going to go a different route. And I'm going to go to 49ers. Dave just said, why? Because they get the Dolphins and the Cardinals in back-to-back weeks. And while the Bucks matchup is absolutely amazing this week against Cleveland,
Starting point is 00:33:22 you might have a starting DST for the rest of the season with what they just did against the Rams, knowing that Abosa's healthy, Warner's healthy, like, that's a difference-making group. And so if I can get them for the rest of the season, plus, oh, hey, they're taking on Malik Willis and this week, and then I know the Cardinals' offense looked great,
Starting point is 00:33:39 but Jacoby Bresek can, at times his career, as we've seen, get turnover prone. So I'm going to take the 49ers from a short-term and long-term approach, and I think that's the DSTU go target first. And the Niners' DST is only 19% rostered. The Bucs DST is only 12% rostered.
Starting point is 00:33:55 So you do have some options there. And that was coverage you can count on, sponsored by Nationwide. Nationwide is so much more than a great insurance company. They're one of America's largest financial companies, too. Take your game to the next level with Nationwide. For your insurance and financial needs, Nationwide is on your side. Nationwide Investment Services Corporation member Finra, Columbus, Ohio.
Starting point is 00:34:19 All right, Jamie, now the Kickers. Who we got? Yeah, it's always a great week for Kickers. so let me get the right list for you. So Cairo Santos, I think he's definitely in the conversation, taking on the Vikings, Tyler Loop, taking on the Saints, Tyler Bass, taking on the Lions, and Trace Mack, taking on the Jets.
Starting point is 00:34:40 Love it. Make those kicker moves. Yeah, a lot of extra points coming for Cairo Santos this season. Or just eliminate kickers from your league? I could do that too. We'll be right back on Fantasy Football today with the rest of the show. Be right back.
Starting point is 00:34:55 A couple quick stats for you here before we talk about shallow leagues and deep leagues, although I think we've covered much of the shallow leagues. Watching the tape of the Packers running backs, personal opinion was even though the yards per carry didn't reflect it. I thought Lloyd ran better than Brooks, but neither guy was really able to break any tackles. And that was a huge issue for them. And I looked on true media and they were both given one avoided tackle. And if they broke a tackle, I'm pretty sure that would counter as an avoided tackle. They were both given one.
Starting point is 00:35:24 It's not a huge deal. You know, like Kyron Williams didn't have any. But Marchion Lloyd won and won for Chris Brooks. Kenneth Walker, how many avoided tackles was he credited with last night? What do you think? A billion. 14. 14.
Starting point is 00:35:42 Bejohn Robinson 10. Jamir Gibbs 10. Sequin Barclay 7 was impressive. Bejal Tootin 7. But 14 for Ken Walker. Man, what a freaking game for him. And we'll get to that in just a moment. moment. Jamie, I think we covered the shallow leagues quite a bit with Jalen Koker and the Packers
Starting point is 00:35:59 guys that we mentioned and Debo Samuel. Is there anyone I'm missing here? Johnson, 76% roster, so right around the same as Matthew Golden. I think if he's out there in a 10-team league knowing that no Jordan Tyson, the fact that this team is going to throw the ball a lot and have some success, you know, you like to see more than three catches on seven targets, but touchdown catch was great, and he's going to be one of the go-to guys for Kellen Moore and for Tyler Shuck. So he's an easy one.
Starting point is 00:36:30 I'm trying to think anybody else. The running backs really weren't anything exciting. So I think you're just looking at if you can find Jalen Coker, if you can find Matthew Golden, if you can find Tyler Shuck, if you can find Jordan Love, those are league-winning type of guys. You like Shuck or Love better?
Starting point is 00:36:46 I like Shuck better, but they're both close. Like they were both close in my preseason rankings. also. Was this the highest scoring week one ever? I believe it was the highest scoring week one since like 2000 something like 10 plus years. So it's hard to find a deep matchup right now that looks like, oh, you don't want to start guys against this, you know, this team. Maybe Seattle, but I'm sure there are going to be some. But I was pretty impressed with Baltimore.
Starting point is 00:37:15 So I just, I want to see what New Orleans can do against the Ravens. I thought, you know, it was a little disappointing than New Orleans took them so long. to get going on Sunday against that Lions defense that we thought would be kind of a layup. Baltimore played pretty well after the first drive against the Colts in the game of the week. And I'm not saying to sit them. I'm just saying I wouldn't be shocked if they took a step back in week two. Ravens looked pretty damn good defensively. But just kind of like on my radar, not a lot of defenses look good on Sunday.
Starting point is 00:37:45 Let's just say that. Chiefs look great. I thought a lot of the offenses that didn't look good, especially early on, the offenses that weren't on the field during the preseason. And I wonder if that's going to be a talking point in about 10 months that, oh, the Lions got off to a slow start and the Saints got off to a slow start. And those teams, I don't think they put their off. Yeah, the Rams are obviously and, but they never put their guys out there.
Starting point is 00:38:09 And boy, did Stafford take a while to even look remotely good. So there's, there's that. And I wonder if maybe now that a lot of these offenses have played a game, every offense has played a game, some have played a game, some have played more than one because of the preseason. I don't mean a whole game. You know what I mean? They've kind of on the field.
Starting point is 00:38:27 Like Denver. Denver got on the field during the preseason and they look great in the preseason. So I guess there's always the case of an offense that goes through the preseason and then sucks when they go out and play in a real game. You had a few defenses that were good last year that looked good week one. Jaguars played a JV team. So take that into account, but their defense look good. The Patriots defense, you know, I know they lost the game and everybody's
Starting point is 00:38:50 about Drake May, but their defense still played well against the Seahawks, and they should do well against the Steelers this week. The 49ers give them credit for what they did to the Rams and two easy matchups coming up. And I think just one defense that's going to be dramatically different is the Bengals. And they looked really good against Tampa Bay, you know, four turnovers and, you know, really limited that passing game. I think Baker's going to bounce back in a big way, taking on his former team. But that defense could be one of the ones that we don't say that's a layup because I don't think this is going to be the case anymore. And I think if you just look at Bucky Irving's yards per carry and you're going, well, this run defense hasn't gotten any better, that's when we got to watch the tape because I thought Bucky Irving had one of the best games of any, I haven't watched everything, obviously. I haven't watched that much. But of all the players I've seen, I thought Bucky Irving look better than just about anyone. He was so good.
Starting point is 00:39:40 And they were getting in the backfield and he was just making a miss. So I actually curious to see what David Montgomery does this week because I think Cincinnati's run defense. This guy who had like 18 carries for 60 yards or something. something like that, Dave Montgomery. He loved his work in the passing game, and I hated the fumble. What is that? The fumble.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Loved his work in the passing game, just hated the fumble. Yeah, but I think could be a tough matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. Agreed. Yeah. Okay. Dave, what are we talking about Tyler Shuck and Jordan left? None of these guys are available in my league. Who are the deep league guys that we need to be looking at here? At quarterback, I think the list starts and ends with Carson Wentz, who's available in 99% of leagues.
Starting point is 00:40:20 I'm sure you can make the case for Bryce Young, who's available in 78% of leagues. I think I'd rather have Young than Wentz just because of the schedule coming up. And we don't know if Wentz is going to be the rest of season starter. I'm thinking more about those Super Flex leagues. And in those leagues, Bryce Young's already rostered. And so it just goes back to what we were talking about earlier. Like how badly do you want to carry a second quarterback? And then if you, that's if you can't get your hands on Tyler Shock.
Starting point is 00:40:45 That's where Young would make sense. Wentz makes sense. Malik Willis makes sense. But Willis is already rostered. in too many leagues. The only running back that I think is worth the darn that's going to be available in a lot of leagues is Devon Singletary. And when I say worth a darn, I mean like seven PPR points.
Starting point is 00:41:00 It's not a lot. But he's got a role as the passing downs guy for the New York Giants. And if the game script goes wrong for the Giants, you'll see him on the field more than Scadaboo well into the second half. A couple of other names of running backs that you could stash. Ketron Allen got some playing time after Jacoby Crosky, Jacori, Crosby Merritt, had a fumble late against. Philadelphia. You might want to stash him and just see what happens there. You mentioned Chris
Starting point is 00:41:26 Brooks. Maybe that's about it. There aren't a lot of other running backs that I would look at and say, oh, deep league, go ahead and stash him. Wide receivers where I think we've got some rich deep league guys. And we talked about a lot of them already. Vele, of course, DeMario Douglas is up there. Caleb Douglas, 28% rostered. So he would go ahead of DeMario. And then we haven't talked about Khalif Raymond. I loved his role in this offense. I hated what it meant for Luther Burden, for Colson Loveland, for Romo Dunzee, but this small, shifty, underneath target, checkdown guy for Caleb Williams on the occasions where Williams was pressured. I loved it for him. And I don't know if it's sustainable. We don't want to believe that it's sustainable.
Starting point is 00:42:12 Yeah. But I wonder if he should be included in that group of wide receivers where, yeah, maybe 10 PPR points per game is a possibility. It would have to be a deep league. He's 1% rostered on CBS. So he's available everywhere. But he's somebody in a shallow league. If you can't get your hands on some of these, or a deep league rather,
Starting point is 00:42:31 you can't get your hands on these other guys. Maybe you don't even put in the waiver claim for him, but you see them at the top of the free agent list on Thursday and Friday. You could potentially add him if PPR matters in your league. That's Khalif Raymond. I honestly, I think everybody hates Raymond right now. And a Kendrick Bourne is basically the same player for Arizona as it is for Chicago.
Starting point is 00:42:56 Right. Two guys that were rooting hard against who might still get a lot of targets. I might even buy into Bourne a little bit more than Raymond, but both of them are serving that same role. You know, the Bears, I'm sure they ran a lot of snaps in this game, but 21, two wide receiver sets. And Jaday Walker played 14 snaps. there. It ran seven routes. Luther Bird and 13. O'Don's- Keep in mind. Burden missed a lot of time in camp with the groin injury.
Starting point is 00:43:25 O'Donzee was questionable going into the week. Right. Right. Their numbers should get dramatically better. Right. At least I hope they get dramatically better. Burdens more so. I'm a little worried about Oduenze not getting, what it was like 50% of the routes, something like that. Yeah, he played 50% of the snaps, basically. I think that's pretty injury-related.
Starting point is 00:43:44 I would hope. I have to think. I got a couple more deeply guys just based on two things. One last night, Pat Bryant, you heard a lot about what he was doing in camp. And I know it came at the expense of both Waddle and Sutton, so just keep that in mind, but still look decent at times. And then, again, there's an injury, and he scored a touchdown. DeMarcus Robinson is a guy that the 49ers love, 7% rostered right now.
Starting point is 00:44:11 He's going to get an opportunity. He played a lot in that game. And you have older receivers there. I know he's not young himself. but you have older receivers there also. Denver 31. No, Kansas City 31. Denver 10.
Starting point is 00:44:25 Whoops. Wishful thinking, I guess. I saw a stat on ESPN that Patrick Mahomes ran faster in this game than he did at any point last season. Amazing. Modern medicine is really incredible. I mean, George Kittled back out on the field for week one. Patrick Mahomes doing that.
Starting point is 00:44:43 And he only threw for 184 yards, seven passes, but he had a very good fantasy game. Yeah. The touchdown to walk, the passing touchdown to Walker is, was fun. And you got lucky fantasy-wise with that one. Yeah, I think the Chief's offense, the Chief's passing game was the same crap we've seen for the last two plus years, but they didn't need to do much, you know, they're very conservative and they just ran every, ran all over the Broncos, just a weird game, unpredictable, I guess,
Starting point is 00:45:11 is what I'd say. But Jamie May I don't know if it's weird or unpredictable. So a little surprising that the Broncos forgot how to tackle. Well, they forgot how to tackle? They, how many, six, eight carries for J.K. Dobbins. How many targets for Jalen Waddle? Two, three targets, one cat? I'm thinking about this more from Kansas City's perspective on offense.
Starting point is 00:45:31 Like, what was the whole thesis of why Kenneth Walker was a good pick in the first place? They wanted to run the ball more. And here was a game where they realized pretty early on that they'd be able to run the ball effectively. And so they just leaned into Walker. like Seattle rarely did outside of the playoffs last year. And man, he looked fantastic. He did. Are we more worried about Rishie Rice, who had a touchdown, but two targets, or Jalen Waddle?
Starting point is 00:46:00 There were mistackles on that touchdown, too. I do not, I'm not encouraged by this passing game at all. And there's going to come, there will come a game where Kenneth Walker isn't averaging seven and a half yards per carry. and a defense will be able to make some tackles. And I don't know if this is going to be, if those will be times where this passing game will suddenly like, you know,
Starting point is 00:46:24 rear its head and be effective downfield. I think it's kind of the same sort of story, like you said, with the passing game. And so they better hope they run the ball well more weeks than not. So it's first game back for him off of a bad injury. It's still a very good pass defense for the Broncos. It was an amazing running attack. for the chiefs.
Starting point is 00:46:44 I don't think you should panic on Rice yet. And now that you see how the chiefs may want to operate, which plays into Andy Reed's hands and Patrick Holmes hands, and so they start to see more loaded fronts, that opens things up a little bit more down the field. They need to get some better play
Starting point is 00:47:01 from their receiving core, not named Rashi Rice. Xavier Worthy did not look good again. I was surprised that there wasn't a little bit more Cyrus Allen just to take some opportunities with it. And a couple shots down the field of Tyquant Thornton. But again, you are playing
Starting point is 00:47:12 one of the best past defenses in the NFL. So on top of the score and game script, like they didn't have to. Plus, you had just a turnover fest for Bo Nix and a defense that could be awesome because there's a lot of young players there, but maybe played a little bit over its head as well in terms of the Chiefs.
Starting point is 00:47:28 So we could get a little bit more shootout potential from this team moving forward. So I wouldn't necessarily panic about them, and I wouldn't panic about Waddle either. My guess is Sean Payton's going to look at this day, that was fun. Congratulations, Davis. Well, that wasn't fun.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Congratulations, Davis, Webb. You had your opportunity and you blew it. And so he's going to take over play calling duties next time? I don't think he's going to do it now. I would not be shocked if he does it now. Like that was awful. Like you can't go out there and say, I told my wife to drive Jalen Waddle in her fantasy league.
Starting point is 00:47:54 And then the guy that you handed the play calling duties does not let Jalen Waddle touch the ball enough. He had a bad drop, take that into account. Yeah, it could have been. This was supposed to be a weakness of the Chiefs. And then you lose what could be their best corner for the majority of the game after you had interception. And they don't give opportunities down the field. Bonnix looked awful. Look, he, you know, fumbled, a couple fumbles that didn't count.
Starting point is 00:48:15 The interception was bad. So I think we're going to get a better Denver offense moving forward. That being said, there is a little bit concerned with Jalen Wattle because this is what we saw last year from this team was spreading the ball out. And Evan Ingram looked decent. And Pat Bryant looked decent. And they're still got to get Coral and Sutton involved. It's not like he's going to also just continue to be a non-factor. So this was my fear about Jailen Waddle.
Starting point is 00:48:40 I'm not panicked yet, but they have to just look better. Like, this just looked absolutely awful. And so I talk it up to week one, bad team, on the road, great Kansas City performance across the board. Kansas City came after Bo Nix's head from the jump. Like, their pass rush was all over the place. And they really hammered the center. Like, they were coming right at them through the A gaps.
Starting point is 00:49:03 And that made it really, really hard on Bo Nix. And you better believe that Jacksonville next week will probably try and emulate that. I thought Waddle still was fast, still was elusive, was separating. He was double-teamed by my count twice. I think he's a great by-low candidate because there are going to be people who are freaking out over this game. One counter to that. One count of that. Go ahead. For Denver in general.
Starting point is 00:49:29 Yeah. Because I was, yeah, like they should bounce back. Jacksonville, Rams, 49ers, Chargers, Seahawks. That's our next five games. It's not good. But maybe I'm wrong, but on paper, Jacksonville, Rams, 49ers, Chargers, Seahawks, it's not a favorable schedule at all. Maybe now is not the time to By-Low, but I don't know, just a counter.
Starting point is 00:49:51 That's fine. The buy-low window is going to be open until he has a huge game. I don't know if the huge game is going to come next week, but it's going to come soon. And the only matchup there that really scares me is the Seattle matchup. Because we know he's going to get the Rams without Miles Garrett. Yes. Okay. That's it for Denver 31.
Starting point is 00:50:10 in Kansas City 10. Moron who were worried about, who we're buying, who we're selling. Yes, moron is a good way to put it. Tomorrow. I can't blame the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:50:19 It's not like Davis Webb was out there throwing passes. You know, it's obviously Bonix did not. No, but you could have had Payne Manning out there throwing passes. That offensive line did him no favor. It's a, if you like,
Starting point is 00:50:30 you know, you never want to just read body language or facial expressions, but that's a guy that's used to calling plays and having success doing it. Yeah. And he tries something different. He looked like he wanted to kill somebody. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:39 And then you make this huge investment in this receiver and you don't give him chances on a nationally televised game in a game where you're trailing the majority of it. Bonix, you know, maybe the ankle is still a problem. I don't think so. But, you know, offensive line is as we alluded to was bad. Chief's defense, again, I think played maybe a little bit over its head, but could be could be great. You know, it's just spags again. So a lot of just different moving parts here. But to me, when I looked at Sean Payton and like just watching it, and then,
Starting point is 00:51:09 And like it almost felt, you know, you don't know what he's looking at when the cameras focus on him and he's just looking to his left. Like, it's like he's just a death stare, Davis Webb. Like, what are you doing? I wouldn't want to work for Sean Payton. I'm just going to throw that out there. Let's get the drop o meter out here. Zero to ten on the drop o meter. Josh Downs.
Starting point is 00:51:28 Three. Yeah, I would say two. I want to see what Alex Pierce's wrist looks. Is this also the overreaction o meter? Well, it could be, but, you know, Josh Downs, he gets, Chiefs and the Texans the next two weeks and he's got this Keenan Allen problem but fair enough.
Starting point is 00:51:44 Rashid Shihid 11. 50 billion. Jonathan Brooks. Two. Carnell Tate. Two. Three.
Starting point is 00:51:55 Wondale Robinson. Two. Ten and non-PPR. Four and full PPR. How many of those guys who should drop for Jalen Koker? Josh Dallon, Shaheed, Jonathan Brooks, Carnell Tate, Wando Robinson.
Starting point is 00:52:07 Yeah. If they're the worst, player on my team that they can all be cut for cocker. All right. Quarterback waiver wire. A lot of this will be repetitive, but just so we don't miss anything, check to see if Jordan Love and Tyler Shuck are available. And then Jamie's waiver wire priority was Jacoby Brissette, number one, not necessary. This is kind of season long here.
Starting point is 00:52:25 We're still going, not week by week. Jacoby Brissette, Bryce Young, Malik Willis, C.J. Stroud, Carson Wentz. And, you know, look, you got to be careful because in a two-quarterback league, if you spend a lot of money, it's not a lot of fab on Carson Wentz, it's very possible that he makes one more start. But Jamie thinks there's a possibility that he could just play well enough and keep the job from Minnesota. Michael Pennix, Jr., it's got to be sooner rather than later when he starts, when he becomes their starter. As soon as he's healthy, he's in there. And, you know, you want to put Tua in that spot in case 2QB Super Flex League?
Starting point is 00:53:03 that he starts this week, anybody's better than Cooper Rush. Yes. Drew Locke could get another one or two starts. They're at Arizona this week. He's definitely starting week two. Okay. At Arizona at Washington, the next two games,
Starting point is 00:53:18 those are on paper good, not necessarily from, yeah, they're good. Shardor Sanders is just, he's not on your list, but could speculate on Shadur's Sanders. Sure. Running backs, the shallow league guys are Woody Marks, Chris Rodriguez, and Zach Charbonnet.
Starting point is 00:53:32 Sharbonnet should be in an IR spot. But as far as Woody Marks and Chris Rodriguez go, are they holds or they drops at this point? I wouldn't be dropping Woody Marks after he played the same amount of snaps as David Montgomery. And I think you got to be encouraged that he ran well. So yards per carry was better
Starting point is 00:53:51 than David Montgomery, different type of carries. And I still think there's a role for him in the passing game. Rodriguez, look, we'll see what goal line opportunities come his way. and this is one of those situations where Jacksonville's offense, I know everybody's excited about the Bears. Jacksonville's offense is going to be very good as well.
Starting point is 00:54:08 That's a huge surprise, but we just didn't see it, and Bears getting all the headlines. See it to the same extent. You want pieces of Jacksonville's offense. And Rodriguez, if something happens to Tutin, last year there was a pretty strong sample size of 10 carries or more, 10 PPR points or more for Rodriguez almost, I think it was like five or six times that had happened.
Starting point is 00:54:26 So he's not going to help you in the passing game. But when you get to those like Jordan Mason, J.K. Dover, type of, you know, Jacori Cross Camarra type of running backs, he's right in that mold if he ever got the starting job. I think I'd rather have black than both of those guys. Oh, I agree.
Starting point is 00:54:39 Yeah. But when we start talking about Emmett Johnson and Devin Singletary and all those other guys, I don't think I'm there. So, maybe Emmett Johnson over Rodriguez. The caveat being, if I have Kenneth Walker, I absolutely have to have Emmett Johnson. In the chat, drop what he marks for Devon Valey? If that's the worst guy in your team to get a receiver because you're stuck, yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:55:00 All right, the running backs on the waiver wire. Kalon Black, 61% rostered in CBS leagues, Emmett Johnson, Tyler Algier, Christopher Brooks, and Devin Singletary. We'll see what happens with Najee Harris this week and what role he has if he's active. But I don't think he's going to be the third downback. Kendry Miller, Ketron Allen. And if you're watching on YouTube, you see the list starting with Jonah Coleman. So what I have in the column is a list of just handcuffs to stash. And so these are guys that aren't going to help you very much while the starter is healthy.
Starting point is 00:55:34 But if the starter goes down, then you could have a league winner. So if you have a roster is about to play with, these are guys to go look for his lottery tickets. I just don't know if I agree about Jonah Coleman anymore. I feel like RJ Harvey might be just the handcuff. He looked good. He looked better than he did at any point last year. I don't fully disagree with you. And Harvey did look good.
Starting point is 00:55:53 Again, another thing that Sean Payton said was we saw enough of him in the preseason. We don't need to see anymore. We didn't see him in week one. Like, their run game was just so disjointed and not having any opportunity to get going. And then I thought on top of Harvey looking good, I thought Dobbins had some good runs, too. They just didn't get enough. Yeah, of course. He always does.
Starting point is 00:56:15 Okay. So handcuffs are Jonah Coleman, Braylon Allen, Tank Biggsby, Ray Davis, Brian Robinson, Jr., Samage, P. Ryan, and Armani DiMarcato is seemingly the number two running back for Dallas right now. Yeah, they signed Tyler Goodson, but I don't know if he's going to elevate. over Demercado. Maybe he would see some playing time if Javante Williams won a big survivor pool contest.
Starting point is 00:56:39 Drop candidates. Rashad White. Disappointing. He just didn't really have much of a role. And then when they benched Jacori Kroski Merritt, he wasn't even the guy who, it was Ketron Allen, not Rashad White. Taj Spears, Tyrone Tracy,
Starting point is 00:56:51 Dylan Samson, Jordan James. These guys are drop candidates if you need to make a move. And just one more note on the Ketron Allen thing. There were, I forgot how many, I have it right here. Chcoracrosky Marit had 175 carries last year and two fumbles.
Starting point is 00:57:06 You know, if there were three, that'd be a lot. I don't know if two on 175 is a lot, but it's not great. He fumbled the consecutive games last year, so we'll keep an eye on that situation. You know, I just wanted to throw George Halani and Rahim Sanders in there in deep leagues. Halani could get you a goal line touchdown maybe. Sanders could be the third downback. He's worse than Halani, but I'm just saying names.
Starting point is 00:57:29 Wide receiver. I don't know about that. I think you can make the case for Sanders over Halani. I'll take the guy who has a chance to score a touchdown. On the better team. Isn't that Emmanuel Wilson? I think it's a lot. It could be.
Starting point is 00:57:44 It may be. There's Emmanuel Wilson in week one. Not exclusive. Listen, I think you're in deep bleep if you're picking between George Hollani and Rahim Sanders for a running back spot in fantasy. Yeah. But Sanders is actually like an interesting prospect. Like, if I had to. The worst nickname in football.
Starting point is 00:58:04 What? Rocket, that guy should not be called Rocket. No, no, no. He should not. All right, wide receivers, wide receivers. We got Debo. We got Romeo Dobbs. If you could choose any Patriots wide receiver, including Dobbs, who's 79% rostered, who would it be?
Starting point is 00:58:20 I would still take a chance on Dobbs. I don't really want any one of them. We got Josh. I think Douglas is my. answer, but it's got to be full PPR. Josh Downs and Jacoby Myers, who are still pretty rostered, but don't give up on them yet. And obviously, Myers scored the touchdown, but only two targets. And Matthew Golden, we've been talking about.
Starting point is 00:58:43 So our favorite wide receivers that are available in a lot of leagues are Devon Valle, Caleb Douglas, Jamie likes Trey Harris. There's Mack Hollins. Trey Tucker always has a chance. Like, Trey Tucker's just an inconsistent player, just because he didn't do much in week one. It doesn't mean he won't do much in week two at the Chargers. Rashad Bateman. If Zayflowers missed his time,
Starting point is 00:59:03 is that your favorite Ravens receiver, Jamie? Yes, and there's no Jacoby Lane now, too. So Bateman's going to get more opportunities. He ran a lot of routes just in getting targets. Khalil Shakir had a, you know, not that bad of a game. If you're just looking for some fantasy points, four catches for 50 yards on six targets. And he gets Detroit on Thursday.
Starting point is 00:59:21 You got Raymond. Khalif Raymond. You got Antonio Williams. Dave, what do we think about him? Only 29% route participation rate, but a great debut for Antonio Williams. Man, that is a wall that keeps me from being excited about him. But I thought he looked good on the targets that he had.
Starting point is 00:59:39 I think he's a really talented receiver who can win in the slot, but they can use them anywhere. And I know that in college he was used everywhere. I hate that they didn't use him enough. And so now you've got to ask yourself, what's his pathway to getting more playing time? Maybe it happens with Oconquo out. They go to 11 receivers a little bit more,
Starting point is 00:59:59 or not 11. 11 personnel, three wide receivers a little bit more. He's a stash, but I can't say he's going to be one of the best ads that you could pick up right now. You might even be able to, well, I don't know, maybe in like casualty, someone will pick him up. I guess he's just a stash, and that's it. Okay. Antonio. What I was going to say was maybe he doesn't even get picked up, and a week from now we're talking about him as a better candidate to add because the commanders make a change.
Starting point is 01:00:27 Kendrick Bourne is 1% rostered and intriguing because they're just going to throw the ball a ton. Don Tavian Wix, you saw he had the long touchdown. That was really bad coverage by Washington on that play for targets for Wix. But he is the number two receiver for, well, Goddard, I guess. But Wix is, you know, 15% roster. The bad coverage wasn't on the touchdown. It was on the deep ball.
Starting point is 01:00:51 Oh, he didn't score in that play. I'm sorry, right? No, his touchdown, but there's a lot of encouraging signs about the touchdown because that was timing with Jalen Hertz. When Hertz read the right coverage through to a spot, Wix was there. And if he's going to continue to be that number two receiver, then you can like them. I don't think there's a lot to be excited about it.
Starting point is 01:01:10 I don't know if I would trust them as anything more than a bi-week receiver. And then, yeah, I mean, I'm just going to read some names. I just don't think that I'm going to put in any bids for these guys or make any claims. My deepest league is 14 teams. Adonai, Mitch. I'm not saying they don't belong in the column, but there's just so many guys. Adonai, Mitchell, Keenan, Denzel Boston, Pat Bryant.
Starting point is 01:01:29 I might consider him. Jalen Noel didn't play enough. DeMargne Robinson. Yeah. You had Xavier Hutchinson get six targets. I'd say DeMario Douglas. I might take a chance of DeMario Douglas over those guys. I don't know how you feel about that.
Starting point is 01:01:42 Sure. Did you get a chance to watch the Jets offense? No. And I had that game on, but I wasn't really paying attention. Got it. Because I'd like to know how Mitchell looked. And if he was, if he looked real good like they were saying in the preseason, then I might be interested.
Starting point is 01:01:57 He'd be on that same list as Antonio Williams. I wouldn't be excited at him. But I think that there's definitely a chance that this offense throws downfield more than they have in the past because of Gino. And he's going to be there. And he's a good downfield receiver. All right. Let's get to the tight ends here. Juan Johnson is the one shallow league tight end.
Starting point is 01:02:17 Dalton Kincaid is 87% rostered. So every now and then you see one of those guys available in your league. Make sure you check to see if Dalton Kincaid's available. Dalton Schultz, you'd rather have Joanne Johnson than Dalton Schultz, I assume, Jamie? 100%. Okay. And Kincaid. You'd rather have Johnson than Concade?
Starting point is 01:02:36 I'd rather have Kincaid than Johnson than Johnson than Schultz. All right, we got Schultz. We got Michael Mayer, who again, may or may not be the starting guy this week. May, I see what you did there. Oh, I didn't. I didn't. Hunter Henry and David Nijoku. These guys are going to maybe take advantage of injuries.
Starting point is 01:02:55 Pat Friamuth ran seven. 74% of the routes. And he ran 70% or more of the routes in three games last year. He had five or six targets in all three games, which isn't terrible. So Pratt Friermouth had a nice role. Do you think Friermouth and Hawkinson could bounce back this year and actually be something? Or is this just a blip in week one? You know, when you look at McCarthy in Dallas, Ferguson had a good year.
Starting point is 01:03:22 Schultz had a good year. You know, there's been about 100 targets for those guys. it wouldn't surprise me if Friarmouth his sneaky low end number one type tight end. Yep. Okay. And then you've got, what about Hawkinson?
Starting point is 01:03:38 Look, there's not going to be many games where Jordan Addison gets two or three targets, whatever it was, and no catches. So that's something I'd consider Juan Jennings was a non-factor also. I don't think it's a bad play. You know, like if you're looking at it, and this is what I struggle with. Fryeemouth Hawkinson versus Sadiq and Ferguson,
Starting point is 01:03:55 And if Sadiq continues to improve, you know, four targets, three catches, had the Russian touchdown. There's so much more upside for him just based on his pedigree. But Hawkinson can get five or six targets and fall in the end zone, Friarmouth again, just looking at the situation. Michael Pittman really wasn't much of a factor like he could be moving forward. So it's just a matter of like what you're looking for when you're talking about a second titan. If I need somebody to start this week, I'm probably going to link Friarmooth or Hawkinson over the younger guys. And the younger guys like Sadiq, Terence Ferguson, Brenton Strange, they're not down. Aaron Waller. He's not young. Or is Gisicki? Gunner Helm.
Starting point is 01:04:29 Dave, when you look at Sadiq, Ferguson, that's Terrence. Brenton Strange, Darren Waller, Mike Gassicki, Gunner, Helm. Anyone here that you want to just stash? Deep League stash would be Sadiq. Okay. Yeah, it's tough to roster two tight ends when one of them isn't really doing anything on a weekly basis. Weird that Noah Fant got eight targets. I think that one we're going to just kind of ignore. He only ran 18 routes, but Noah Fan had eight targets and a touchdown for the Saints. DSTs, 49ers, we love them.
Starting point is 01:05:01 We love them. Tampa. Buccaneer Boulevard. We love them. Packers at the Jets. Panthers at Atlanta if Cooper Rush plays. What's the Chiefs roster ship? That's a great question. Because they've got the Colts. That's not great. But after that, it's Miami and Las Vegas and then a buy.
Starting point is 01:05:21 35%. Ooh. Add them to the list, but I don't think I like them better than the Bucks and the Niners. unless you're lazy. If you're lazy and you just want to get a defense that you can use for the next three weeks and not think about it, then the chiefs would be it.
Starting point is 01:05:34 Are you saying that was cringe about my, we love it thing? Because that was not cringe. Go watch a name. I don't know how many people get the reference. Yeah, it's a, what's his name? Randy Newman, song. Batman with these kids and dog.
Starting point is 01:05:51 Oh, good. That was cringe. My favorite family guy moments. Kickers were Cairo, Santos, Tyler Loop, Tyler Bass, and Trace Mack. Drove into the morning fog. All right, we'll see you later. Hey there, Rova.
