Starting point is 00:01:39 I had no idea. It's time to dominate your fantasy league. Off to the races, and he stays on his feet. He's just going to go the distance. Now, here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath. Yeah, week three. Hope it's been a good one for you. Welcome to Fantasy Football Today, presented by BetMGM,
Starting point is 00:02:00 the sportsbook born in Vegas. Adam Azer, Dave Richard, and Heath Cummings, who feels like a winner today?mings. Who feels like a winner today? Juwan Jennings feels like a winner. Well, one of you is going to give me the big winner, and one of you is going to give me the big loser. So whoever's feeling like a winner.
Starting point is 00:02:16 The Carolina Panthers are the big winners. Andy Dalton's back. The league is better for it. Like, where'd all the passing touchdowns go? Where'd all the passing production go? Well, we didn't have Andy Dalton's back. The league is better for it. Like, where'd all the passing touchdowns go? Where'd all the passing production go? Well, we didn't have Andy Dalton. We get Andy Dalton back.
Starting point is 00:02:31 The passing game's restored in the NFL. Deontay Johnson's value is saved. Chuba Hubbard's value is saved. There's hope for Jonathan Brooks on the horizon. Welcome back. Play the music. Welcome back. I wish I don't have the horizon. Welcome back. Play the music. Welcome back. I wish I don't have any music.
Starting point is 00:02:47 Welcome back. I have other music that I can maybe... Hold on, let me see. This is what we need to do. Yeah. Hey, we're on a tight schedule today. Remember? Welcome back music.
Starting point is 00:03:00 Chuba Hubbard, yay. Deontay Johnson, yay. Dave, who's the biggest loser? Well, I'm glad you asked, Heath. I think the biggest loser is going to be Javante Williams, who only had five carries for the Broncos. Welcome back. Did it work? All right. Well, who's your big loser? Sorry. We waited 45 seconds for that. Awesome. Javante Williams, man, like brutal game for him. Broncos were on fire. Bo Nix played great. We saw Jaleel McLaughlin in on a fourth and one, and he scored Tyler Beatty at 70 yards on nine carries. He looked good. And Javante Williams was kind of bad and
Starting point is 00:03:38 I'm being nice. So I don't know how you can feel confident starting Javante Williams moving forward and they've got the jets next week. So you're probably not going to want to do that. The only thing I wasn't sure of is like, weren't almost all of Beatty's carries and snaps after there was a three score game pretty much, but he still showed them something. And I know that Sean Payton had kind of talked about wanting to get him more work and now he showed him something. And I know that Sean Payton kind of talked about wanting to get him more work. And now he showed him something. And I wonder if this is just going to get messier as we go along. I'm not saying, listen, Javadi
Starting point is 00:04:12 still led them in snaps played the running backs, but how do you trust him? Okay, I can get to 15 fantasy points with this guy. No, so Beatty had seven carries for 70 yards in the fourth quarter. He was the only Broncos running back that had a carry in the fourth quarter. They went into the quarter with a 23 to seven lead. So it wasn't, I mean, look, obviously they were winning, but that's
Starting point is 00:04:33 not garbage time yet. I thought there were three running backs who, you know, where their teams possibly took a step toward replacing them. Now, Javante was one of them. And Dave, you mentioned McLaughlin getting in the one-yard line, made a great move. That sequence of events was first and goal from the one, I believe. It was Javante right around the one. Javante on first down, McLaughlin on second down, Javante on third down, McLaughlin on fourth down.
Starting point is 00:05:00 But Beatty's really the only one who's run the ball with success, I think, this year for the most part. And then, so that's one situation. The other two situations are the Bears, where Roshon Johnson came out. I don't think he started, but he had carries on the opening drive, and he had a solid game. And we kept talking about pick up Khalil Herbert. Maybe it's actually Roshon Johnson.
Starting point is 00:05:21 And the other one is Rashad White, who just continues to get outplayed on handoffs anyway. I mean, the passing game, he still got his role, but Bucky Irving continues to outplay Rashad White. So I look at White, Swift, and Javante, and I feel like their roles are in jeopardy here. I'll give you one more, but it's going to make you want to play the Heath Blarg sound.
Starting point is 00:05:41 That I have. That's in Vegas with Alexander Madison. He actually led them in snaps play. A ton of high-value touches. 8 of 11 on third down. 2 of 5 inside the 10. He had the short yardage touchdown. Zamir White was third in snaps played among running backs this week.
Starting point is 00:06:02 24% of the snaps. I want to talk about the the, sorry Heath, I'll let you jump in. Just want to clarify on the Madison touchdown run. It's the second week in a row, but in this particular game, I'm not saying he would not have been in there, but the touchdown was from one yard out. It was preceded by a third down play where Madison was in. Cause he's always in on the third downs where Gardner Minshew scrambled. I think he dove for the first down marker.
Starting point is 00:06:26 He got the first down. They went hurry up so Carolina couldn't challenge it. So who was it again? Alexander Madison stayed on the field in that situation, and he got a quick handoff and a touchdown. But it's the second week in a row where Javante actually, or Zemir White actually got the carries relatively to Madison, but didn't get the goal line touchdown. All right, so we were talking about losers. Dave said, Javante, I wanted to bring in all those running backs into the discussion.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Heath, and you can talk about that. No, I mean, we're basically doing our losers list because the other two losers I had were White and Swift. And Swift's been awful. One of the worst running backs in the NFL this year. We all kind of hoped that Khalil Herbert would get a shot. It's disappointing if you picked him up this morning, but I think we have to pick up Roshon Johnson. The most likely scenario, though, is they're not,
Starting point is 00:07:18 like DeAndre Swift's not completely going away. It's just going to turn into a gross three-headed monster. You made the comparison to Miles Sanders last year. He might be worse than Miles Sanders was last year. Yeah, it's been bad. All right, so listen, we had a pretty weird, kind of weird day.
Starting point is 00:07:35 I was thrilled, not personally, just for fantasy managers, that Dak Prescott pulled a rabbit out of his hat in the fourth quarter, and he came back and was good. Great win by the Rams coming back. We had Derrick Henry with a huge day. We had, like, Jamison Williams with a really quiet day.
Starting point is 00:07:56 Josh Jacobs was terrible, but Malik Willis was really good. Justin Fields not doing anything to lose that starting job as the Steelers go to 3-0. So we'll break it all down. Reminder, beyond the box score tomorrow at noon-ish. Yeah, noon. We'll call it noon Eastern, Beyond the Box score. And then Dan and Jacob have their own little, what do they call it? Cooking with Dan and Jacob? No, what's it called again? Inside the Lab. Inside the Lab. It's Tuesdays. And it's only in the FFT. Well, we're going to try to get the audio in the FFT Express. But the best way to see it is YouTube.com slash Fantasy Football Today.
Starting point is 00:08:31 Right now, I think it's a YouTube exclusive where Dan and Jacob really go deep. And they bring in guests, too. So check that out. Let's get to the big news. Now, you might be saying, oh, we didn't really have big injuries, like anything terrible like last week. Well, if you played in an offensive line fantasy football league, then we would have lost like five first round picks. We'll get to that later. But if a fantasy relevant guys, Justin Herbert left with an ankle injury,
Starting point is 00:08:54 came in with the ankle injury. He was replaced by Taylor Heineke. So Justin Herbert hurt. They have the chiefs and they have a buy. He said he was hoping to play next week, but man, I can't imagine a high ankle, re-aggravating a high ankle, and then playing the following week. Right, especially when you have a bye after that.
Starting point is 00:09:13 Devontae Smith left after a big hit. Hopefully he's okay. Justin Jefferson jammed his finger. X-rays were negative, so he's probably okay. Adam Thielen made an amazing touchdown catch late in the second quarter, and then he left the game after that. Sam Laporta was carted off, then he came back, then he immediately left. So Laporta got hurt. Trey McBride was being checked for a concussion. He took a big hit to the head. And I'm sorry, did Brock Bowers return,
Starting point is 00:09:40 right? I believe so. Okay, so you had Laporta, McBride, and Bowers all getting hurt today. I think Bowers came back. He was evaluated for a concussion. Laporta, yeah, ankle, I believe, and McBride being looked at for a concussion, and Skyler Thompson got knocked out of the game. I mean, we talked about the losers. We could have talked about the Dolphins, but we will talk about them pretty soon. Now, if you haven't signed up for BetMGM, it's not too late, not even close. It's only week three. Sign up for BetMGM and use the bonus code FANTASY, and you're going to get up to a $1,500 first bet offer on your first wager with BetMGM, and here's how it works. Download the BetMGM app, sign up using the bonus code FANTASY, deposit at least $1010 place your first wager on any game.
Starting point is 00:10:26 You'll receive up to $1,500 in bonus bets. If your bet loses, just make sure you use the bonus code fantasy when you sign up. All right. You remember that song, Dave? Should I say, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:10:37 I can say, yeah, I don't really want to sing it, but you know, back to life, back to reality. Remember that song? That's a Frisco favorite.
Starting point is 00:10:47 That's our next segment. Back to life, back to reality. Carolina Panthers back to life. New Orleans Saints back to reality. Dave, what do you think? I think you might be on to something, especially with the Saints being back to reality. Oh, no, I don't want to hear that.
Starting point is 00:11:03 Well, I listen, Eric McCoy left. You talked about offensive line injuries. So Eric McCoy left very early in the game against Philadelphia. And then Jalen Carter, the Eagles, awesome defensive lineman. I'm using awesome loosely,
Starting point is 00:11:17 I guess, but he was awesome today, really started to wreak havoc and it impacted how the saints offense was maneuvering. And I can't help, but think one of the, what it impacted how the Saints' offense was maneuvering. And I can't help but think, what was the biggest thing I said about why the Saints were rolling early on through the first two weeks of the season? It's their offensive line. Cesar Ruiz left for a little bit in the game.
Starting point is 00:11:39 He came back in. He wasn't at 100%. It's an issue. And so I wonder if, if, if McCoy's injury is serious and they can't get that offensive line, right, then we're going to get this version of Derek Carr more often than not. That's reality. Carolina had a great game against the Raiders and their back was against the wall and Andy Dalton took over and Dalton was phenomenal. And I don't know if this is going to be the new, I don't think they've gotten like, you know,
Starting point is 00:12:06 the green mushroom from Mario to, to go and have an extra life. Now I still think that they're going to be one of the worst teams in the league. They just happened to play one of the other worst teams in the league in week number three. Yeah. I mean,
Starting point is 00:12:19 how seriously should we be taking Deontay Johnson? I, is he a must start now? Oh, he's at least a number three wide receiver. I think we had him ranked as a number three this week, didn't we? Somewhere in that range. And you know what?
Starting point is 00:12:33 Heath Bizer coming up, he'll be a number two receiver. And if the target volume keeps going, then he'll be a number two receiver at minimum. So what about, you know, just to compare the two teams, Rashid Shahid, who had a bagel i wanted it by the way i was gonna have a bagel this morning um they were so moldy you ever oh it was disgusting i had to throw up some bagels but again great information yeah thank you bagel for rashid shaheed on five targets bagel for rashid shaheed uh yeah or dionay Johnson, rest of season.
Starting point is 00:13:10 This game should make you encouraged with Deontay Johnson. How many total targets? I can look it up in about four seconds. 14 for Deontay Johnson. Well, it felt like that. Eight catches, 122. This is his best game of the year, but wouldn't surprise me in the least if he started having games with 13 14 ppr points
Starting point is 00:13:25 that is a number two wide receiver not even a number three okay that did not answer the question so rashid shaheed or the moldy bagel it's dionte oh okay i'm more encouraged by dionte now okay and shaheed had a couple of deep balls that were knocked away at the end he seems mad he's not talking i'm not. I'm just as nervous as Chiefs are about to play. What are you disappointed about? What are you disappointed? What did I do? You know, there's some people
Starting point is 00:13:52 in the chat that are very upset at me for telling them to sit Juwan Jennings. And I just, I don't really feel like anybody liked Juwan Jennings. Jamie had him 37th. I got to give Jamie credit for that. Jamie talked about him on Tuesday in the Waiver Wire show.
Starting point is 00:14:09 He finished as wide receiver 37, right? Very close. Yes. I'm sorry that Juan Jennings was so good and he's on your bench. I started him. Now people are going to pick him up and they're going to hope for more. And then two or three weeks from now, when Debo's back and George Kittle is back,
Starting point is 00:14:30 you'll drop. Well, maybe like it might not even take that. Like, let's be honest. He scored three fewer fantasy points today than he scored last year. Wow. All right.
Starting point is 00:14:41 I got to take a break, but we will talk more about Jennings a little bit later and we'll have more back to life back to reality. When we come back on Fantasy Football today. You want me to sing? I'll sing it when I come back, baby. We'll be right back. Starting point is 00:15:12 Eligibility requirements apply. See shopify.com slash POS20 for details. Back to the show. Okay, back to life, back to reality. Amari Cooper back to life with seven catches, 86 yards, and two touchdowns against the Giants. Jamison Williams back to reality. One catch for nine yards on three targets for Jamison Williams. Jared Goff threw only 23 passes in this game.
Starting point is 00:15:45 But Heath Cooper back to life. Jamison back to reality. Who do you like better rest of season? I like Cooper better rest of season. And like I think when David Njoku's not there and you're facing the New York Giants, you should expect Amari Cooper to have a great game. Although the Giants defense was spectacular today.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Congratulations on the big win. It's going'll be an awesome 12th pick this year um and i i don't really want to get too down on jamo for having a bad week because i do think like his profile is to be like a tyler lockett who's going to win you probably six or seven weeks and put up a few of these. Okay. Well, also we'll reevaluate him if Laporta misses time. It's a low ankle sprain for Laporta, which is good news. Dave, Brock Purdy back to life. Baker Mayfield back to reality.
Starting point is 00:16:40 Mayfield with 10.5 fantasy points against the Broncos. See, this is why I sat him. I knew they'd have a big lead and he wouldn't have to throw. Baker Mayfield with a fantasy points against the Broncos. See, this is why I sat him. I knew they'd have a big lead and he wouldn't have to throw. Baker Mayfield with a bad game against the Broncos. Purdy with a huge game. 30, almost 32 fantasy points at the Rams. What do you make of those two? Who do you like best rest of season?
Starting point is 00:16:58 I'm not ready to say that I like Purdy better than Baker Mayfield rest of season, but I'm super impressed with how Purdy played against the Rams and it's the Rams. It's not one of the best defenses in the league by any stretch of the imagination, but going into this game without Kittle, without Debo, and he was just an absolute beast,
Starting point is 00:17:14 made some great throws. They needed him in a big way to come through to at least build a lead in the game. I don't think he's the reason why they lost the game and he, and he had that connection with Juwan Jennings. It would be nice if he could build that connection with Brandon Ayuk. And he gave Ayuk the opportunity, 10 targets in that game for Ayuk. I think it's good news for Purdy moving forward.
Starting point is 00:17:43 However, you know what the MO of this 49ers offense is. They like to run. They like to be balanced. They don't want Brock Purdy throwing a ton of passes like he ended up doing. Only 30. A ton. Are we buying low on all the holdout wide receivers that are just absolutely killing our fantasy teams? That's a great point. You could if you wanted to, but I'm worried that they're... You can't... Yes, you can buy low.
Starting point is 00:18:07 I don't know why it took me... No, I'm glad you brought that up. Purdy only had 30 pass attempts, but he also had 10 carries for 41 yards, and that's out of character for him. Yeah. All right, last one, Heath. Back to Heath.
Starting point is 00:18:21 Derek Henry, back to life. Henry with 25 carries, 151 yards, two touchdowns, and a 23-yard catch at Dallas. James Conner, back to reality. Conner with his first stinker. 10 touches, 25 yards, 3.5 PPR fantasy points, I guess, against a very good run defense in Detroit. But yeah, Henry versus Conner.
Starting point is 00:18:44 Best game yet for Henry and by far the worst for Connor. Yeah, I'd probably take Henry rest of season. We liked Henry more for the season before this, before the year. This, we talked about it. There's going to be games where the Ravens build multi-touchdown leagues, and those are going to be the Derrick Henry games. And this turned, I mean, this was a game that was a one-point spread, so maybe we didn't necessarily expect this would be one of those, but it turned out to be.
Starting point is 00:19:12 As excited as Jacob Gibbs was about the Arizona Cardinals' offensive game plan last week, I was disgusted watching the Cardinals today. Oh, how come? Kyler had a bad game. Well, Kyler had a bad game game but it seemed like we were back to a lot of marvin harrison on on the sideline and they had some two-man game going on with trey mcbride and michael wilson and i don't know if that means marvin harrison on the sideline
Starting point is 00:19:38 um that was it was like week one it was just him going up and down the sideline right not doing much across the middle of the field. What's the there's one of the teams has an offensive scheme called the numbers or lava, but they run everything between the numbers. And it kind of looked like he was playing the numbers or lava, but he was just outside of numbers. Oh, wow. Okay. Well, he at least he came through with 11 targets and a touch 64 yards and a touchdown, I think, for Harrison. But yeah, disappointing.
Starting point is 00:20:06 The Cardinals scored, what, 13 points? I think they lost 20 to 13 against the Niners. News and notes, Sam Darnold limped off in the third quarter, but he's fine, and he scored over 30 points. He had a great game. Anthony Richardson threw it just a—I mean, these are the types of plays that could swing fantasy matchups. He threw an interception in the end zone, a horrible play from about the five-yard line. Yeah, terrible. You can say the same thing for Jalen Hurts,
Starting point is 00:20:30 who's done that I think twice this year. He threw a pick in the end zone against the Packers, threw one today. Turnovers are really getting to Jalen Hurts' fantasy production. Is Jalen Hurts even a must-start quarterback next week if he doesn't have A.J. Brown or Devontae Smith? I don't remember their play. And honestly, if he doesn't have A.J. Brown or Devontae Smith? I don't remember their plan. And honestly, if they don't have their right tackle,
Starting point is 00:20:49 Lane Johnson, who left with an injury. Because you go look at how they... Remember the one game Lane Johnson got hurt last year? They lost at the Jets, one of the worst losses of the season for any team. They are much worse without Lane Johnson. Well, there's not a huge sample size, but yeah,
Starting point is 00:21:05 the odds are stacked against them a little bit. All right, running back news. I mentioned Roshan Johnson played on the opening drive. Tyler Beatty was the only Broncos running back with a carry in the fourth quarter. Bucky Irving had five carries in the second half. Rashad White did not have one. Bucky Irving, again, five nothing in the second half carries over Rashad White. You saw Trey Sermon scored a touchdown.
Starting point is 00:21:28 Jonathan Taylor was off the field catching his breath. He had made a couple of big plays in a row shortly before that. And so I guess something to keep an eye on. Devin Singletary fumbled for the second straight week. I didn't realize how big of a fumbler he is. He has like 15 or 16 fumbles in his career, Devin Singletary. So we'll keep an eye on that. Darius Slayton left. I think, I don't know if anybody got a chance to see this. I think Jair
Starting point is 00:21:50 Alexander may have been shadowing Calvin Ridley. Every time I saw a highlight, he was on Calvin Ridley. He had the pick six on Calvin Ridley. So we'll go back and look at that. Ridley was awful today. And then Adonai Mitchell barely played today with Josh Downs back. Tight end news. Tucker Kraft left in the third quarter. Offensive line, it is brutal. Going back to Thursday, Morgan Moses right tackle for the Jets. He's out two to four weeks. Pittsburgh put right tackle
Starting point is 00:22:15 Troy Fautano on IR. Seattle put their second string right tackle George Fant on IR, but he's been playing. He's been starting for them. The Chargers lost Rashawn Slater to an injury, their left tackle, and then their right tackle, Joe Alt, limped off in the fourth quarter. I think he's okay. I mentioned Lane Johnson for the Eagles.
Starting point is 00:22:35 Dave mentioned Eric McCoy for the Saints. Teron Armstead for the Dolphins is in the concussion protocol. Trent Williams, did you know if he came back, Trent Williams? I can check he let he uh left in the second half or second quarter and then cleveland terrible day for cleveland bad loss of the giants but guard wyatt teller left in the second half left tackle jedrick wills got got hurt shortly after that and they lost another offensive tackle in that game and they were already playing without their starting right tackle. So it was bad.
Starting point is 00:23:05 And then on defense, I won't go through the defense stuff here, but I guess I've got two missed snaps for Trent Williams. Okay. That's, that's a relief. He came back. Good.
Starting point is 00:23:13 All right. So we'll do some more winners and losers here for Heath. The winners were Carolina, Juwan Jennings and Malik neighbors. You want to start with Jennings or neighbors? Neighbors is the number one wide receiver in fantasy. Period. For the season you're saying for you or currently no he is currently wow wow um and i think like you said to me when
Starting point is 00:23:35 we were backstage at one point dave and jamie weren't here and you said i think dave and jamie are way too high on neighbors this week you've got it right and we were wrong he was uh he's the best wide receiver in fantasy this week the cleveland browns did not attempt very often to put more than one person on malik neighbors and they did not have one person who could cover malik neighbors yeah so you you feel like just gonna rank them in the top 12 or close to it every week probably top 10 all right uh juwan jen, you're going to rank him in the top 30 next week? Same thing. Even better than Malik Nabors.
Starting point is 00:24:08 Yeah, I thought you said he was number one this week. He's number one for the season. Jennings, of course, number one for the week. And in our hearts. So next week for Jennings is the Patriots. You think he'll be in your top 30? That makes me angrier than telling someone to sit him to days. I don't have any idea how to rank Juwan Jennings' career 15-yard-per-game guy
Starting point is 00:24:37 that puts up a performance like this in year four. I'll probably put him somewhere halfway in between dave and jamie well uh look he's never played without mcafree debo and kittle but seriously this was a rare opportunity for him so it was something weird happened last week he ran 30 routes in week two against Minnesota, and he had 5.7 PPR points. Today he had 34 routes against the Rams, and it was 46.5. Holy moly. Yeah. So this is obviously going to just absolutely make his average look wacky
Starting point is 00:25:19 for the rest of the year. I think he's fine if you want to use him as a number three receiver, assuming that there's no Debo, I think he's fine. If you want to use them as a number three receiver, assuming that there's no Debo, there's no Kittle status quo for the past catching unit for the 49ers. Are you going to 20? He's 28% rostered. Are you going to start Jawan Jennings or Tyreek Hill next week? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:42 You're just trying to make me curse and make Thomas have to reedit the podcast. Nobody has time for that tonight. But it's a legit question, isn't it? You don't have to answer it now, but it's. Stop it. I don't think it's a legit question. I think it's a legit question. Are you considering it?
Starting point is 00:25:59 Are either one of you? Did you watch the Dolphins? Yeah. They were awful. Four games with, with Thompson starting. And now it's could. Actually, I don't know if it'll be worse than Thompson. If it's.
Starting point is 00:26:11 Who was it? I'm sorry. Was it Tim Boyle who came in? It was Tim Boyle. Yes. And Tyreek was talking in the locker room about how much he likes him. Okay. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:20 This Dolphins season is about to. Oh, man. What a question. All all right let's go to dave's winners then dallas goddard oh so bad he was available one of my leagues that i didn't pick him up i did so stupid didn't even realize it was available uh goddard goes for a career high 10 catches for a career high 170 yards at new orleans aaron jones big game second straight game with five catches he had 148 total yards and a touchdown he almost had a second touchdown he's a yard away 70 yards at New Orleans. Aaron Jones, big game, second straight game with five catches. He had 148 total yards and a touchdown. He almost had a second touchdown. He's a yard away. And Justin Fields scored 20.4 fantasy points in a win against the Chargers. So Goddard,
Starting point is 00:26:54 Aaron Jones, Justin Fields, go for it, Dave. So let's start with Aaron Jones because he's the easiest one. He's already started in over 60% of leagues, but no more questions about him. At worst, a number two fantasy running back. He's got green Bay next week. He's got the jets after that, and then a buy and then Detroit. So it's going to be a tough schedule. Um, one of the offensive linemen that you didn't mention was Brian O'Neill. He missed time and Darisaw might've missed time too. I can double check on those guys for the Vikings, but assuming that line's okay. I've got trust in this Vikings offense moving forward. I think Kevin O'Connell's doing a good job.
Starting point is 00:27:28 Sam Darnold's really doing a good job, and I'm okay with Aaron Jones. I think Justin Fields has the job for at least one loss, if not three losses moving forward. He's going to need to put up a stinker of a game, total two touchdowns against the Chargers, and I don't think the Chargers are a defense that you can just walk over. I think that they're kind of tough. They did lose Joey Bosa early on in the game with a hip injury. That made things a little bit easier. He started to connect with Calvin Austin that had a big
Starting point is 00:28:00 game for Pittsburgh. Maybe he's their number two pass catcher moving forward. Pickens, obviously we know that he's their number two pass catcher moving forward. Pickens, obviously we know that he's capable of having good numbers. It's still going to be a conservative type of offense. They're still going to want to run the ball a lot, but Fields will still be a part of that. He had six carries, just no yards with it, six yards, two total touchdowns.
Starting point is 00:28:19 I think I mentioned that. Maybe he can work his way back into being a top 15 ish fantasy quarterback for us moving forward. And then give me my third name. One more time. Dallas Goddard. I didn't even need you to tell me. I remembered it. Awesome game for him.
Starting point is 00:28:34 Don't expect it to happen. Obviously, because this was a career eye for him. It was helped by a saints defense that like had a Keystone cops moment late in the game where three defenders ran into each other playing man coverage and Goddard broke free of all people for a long catch and run that set up Saquon's touchdown I think that uh I think that Dallas Goddard is going to be worthy of starting without Devontae Smith there and without A.J. Brown there he's going to be the number one target guy he's going to get double digit targets must start type of of fantasy tight end. And even when one of them comes back, if there's even the
Starting point is 00:29:08 case that they both miss next week, then he'll still be good. He'll still be able to get you somewhere around 10 PPR points. It's when both Brown and Devante are there at the same time that I would expect Goddard to turn into a pumpkin. Okay. so good stuff. And yeah, our winners, just to recap, the Panthers for Heath, Jawan Jennings and Malik Nabors for Heath. For Dave, it was Dallas Goddard, Aaron Jones, and Justin Fields. Okay, losers.
Starting point is 00:29:35 Let's go over to the losers. Dave, you can start. Anthony Richardson, man, last week was bad with only 11.9 fantasy points at Green Bay. Pretty much less than half of that this week. 5.1 fantasy points at Chicago. Only 24 rushing yards. And Javante Williams, a loser for you, as you mentioned.
Starting point is 00:29:53 And then you put Isaiah Likely. Can I volunteer Mark Andrews for that one as well? Let's say the Baltimore tight ends. But Anthony Richardson, I thought people overreacted a little bit with his start percentage. It was only 64%. And I was like, come on, the guy's had one bad game in his career that he's actually finished.
Starting point is 00:30:09 But I was the one who was wrong. I think, you know, well, not just me, but yeah, horrible game for him. Pittsburgh next week. What's going on with Richardson? He's thrown five interceptions in his last two games, and they've been some of the most laughable interceptions that you'd ever see. And he's not rushing as much as we thought he would. 24 rushing yards against Chicago, 37 the week before against Green Bay. It's rough. And now seeing how bad he is of a passer combined with the lack of rushing, I think he's a huge question mark. I don't know if you can feel good starting him.
Starting point is 00:30:47 He faces the Steelers next week. That's a tough matchup. So I'm not even sure he'll be top 12. It's really going to depend on what other quarterbacks are available to you. I still think he's got great upside, but man, just the passing is really like worst case scenario for him. We talked about Javante. I'm not getting into that again. You can talk about Mark Andrews as well. If you want as a total dud, uh, this game was, was a lot of Derek Henry and Adam.
Starting point is 00:31:13 You, I know that you read my story this week about what's going on with the tight ends and the, the basic gist of it was whenever the Ravens were efficient running the ball, the tight ends did nothing, and likely especially does nothing, because Andrews is supposed to do more than he is. And all the luster has fallen off likely. You're going to see him hit the waiver wire in a bunch of leagues.
Starting point is 00:31:35 And you won't... Let me see a schedule. Is there a game coming up where we think that the Ravens are going to have a hard time running next week against Buffalo? Don't know if I see that. Not in a while. Not for a while. After that,
Starting point is 00:31:47 no way. Washington after that, no way at Tampa Bay in week seven. Maybe if the Bucks D line is healthy by then, but we've got a few weeks coming where I think Derek Henry is going to have some big games. And that means that Isaiah likely is unlikely to have big games. And how many pass attempts for Lamar Jackson today?
Starting point is 00:32:04 16, 15. I think that's the fewest ever for him in a start that he did not leave with an injury. I'm looking at his pro football reference. Yeah, that is the fewest pass attempts. He had some 16s, 17s, but 15 pass attempts for Lamar Jackson, the fewest in his career. So that didn't help either.
Starting point is 00:32:24 For Anthony Richardson, when I, of course, made my now infamous prediction that he would be, quote, hot garbage last year, this is kind of what I expected. And I really thought he'd be the guy that you sat, you know, a lot of times you'd sit him in his 30-point weeks and you'd start him in his eight-point weeks because I didn't think he'd be a good thrower at all.
Starting point is 00:32:43 He was a better thrower than I thought he would be last year. But we still have to remember the guy's got very little experience. He's still learning. He's basically a rookie. So I don't know. I mean, I would have trouble telling people to sit him, you know, because I know what the upside is. Just because he didn't run this week doesn't mean he won't run for 100 yards next week. You know what I mean? So I don't really know how to approach Anthony Richardson. I think you still have to have a pretty damn good option to sit him, in my opinion. What do you do with him versus Dak next week? Dak, I think, is a pretty damn good option.
Starting point is 00:33:19 At the Giants. Yeah, I mean, I'm concerned that they get three pick sixes and they win 40 to nothing like they did last year and Dak doesn't have to do much. But yeah, I mean, Dak's a great quarterback. When you start to get to the streamers, the Genos of the world and I don't know, the Darnolds of the world, I know he's playing outstanding. Well, we just saw this week, we got so excited about the great start to the season for Baker Mayfield and Derek Carr, and then they just... Yeah. So I'm not going to start any guys like that over him, probably. Over Richardson.
Starting point is 00:33:52 Right. All right. Well, let's hear... We didn't do Heath's losers yet, did we? I feel like we have. Okay, Heath's losers are Jalen Hurts, Rashad White, and DeAndre Swift. So it's just Jalen Hurts, and we're going to talk about him after this quick commercial break on Fantasy Football Today.
Starting point is 00:34:08 We'll be right back to talk about Jalen Hurts and his 10.9 fantasy points and six points per passing touchdown, and four points per passing touchdown leagues after this. All right, so Jalen Hurts has Tampa Bay on the road next week, and then a bye. All right, so yeah, I mean, look, I think it's pretty easy to say if A.J. Brown's back and whatever, you know, then a buy. All right. So, yeah, I mean, look, I think it's pretty easy to say if AJ Brown's back and whatever, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:26 then start them. But if he's not back for Tampa Bay next week, are you going to sit Jalen hurts? I think you have to consider it. If he doesn't have his number one or his number two wide receiver. And I know we just saw Brock Purdy score like 30 fantasy points, but Jalen hurts doesn't have Juwan Jennings. And so that makes things more difficult.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Like the turnovers are a problem and it doesn't seem like he's adjusting to the new offense as quickly as I would like. There's times when things still look really good, but it looks maybe if not a little bit confused, then just uncomfortable at times as well. And it's hard to get super comfortable when you don't have your number one or number two wide receiver. So if you're telling me that both of those guys are missing next week, I'm probably starting Anthony Richardson over him. Now, from a long-term perspective, you know, I, I, sorry,
Starting point is 00:35:19 I don't have these numbers in front of me, but I'm assuming that the Eagles are rapidly approaching last year's running back rushing touchdown total in three games, right? Like Saquon Barkley's got what? Five rushing touchdowns in three games, something like that. Did he have three in week one? He had one of them receiving. Maybe one of them was receiving.
Starting point is 00:35:39 Yeah. So four in one. But are you concerned about anything other than just the current situation? Like, would you still call him a buy low? That he's still going to be great, you know, say after the buy week, beginning in week six? I think after the buy week, he's still going to be great. And he's still going to be one of the top four fancy quarterbacks. Okay.
Starting point is 00:35:58 All right. Cool. Agreed. Our top five at each position. This will be fun. Six point per passing touchdown. Give me the top five quarterbacks. Who do you think?
Starting point is 00:36:08 Andy Dalton. He's number four with 30 points. Non-decimal scoring is number four. This is a good week. Dak Prescott's one, 33. I was already preparing to be like, I am going to buy low on Dak Prescott. He is going to turn his season around.
Starting point is 00:36:25 Then he did it in that quarter. Sam Darnold and Brock Purdy scored 31 fantasy points. Unbelievable. They both threw 30 or fewer passes. Darnold threw 28 passes. Four of them went for touchdowns. So it's Prescott, Darnold, Purdy, Dalton, Lamar Jackson, and Malik Willis actually tied with Lamar Jackson.
Starting point is 00:36:45 Let's talk about Sam Darnold. Yeah, Schaefer. Woo. Skol. What is legit buying it? I feel like you have to. Well, based on what we've seen so far, we haven't seen Sam Darnold melt down yet.
Starting point is 00:37:06 As he made. Yeah, he tried. But I don't think he's maybe the meltdown game is coming, but he's being schemed. Well, he's connecting with Jalen Naylor. Naylor is a touchdown now in three straight games. Jefferson's amazing. He's really the one that's carrying the load right now. And his offensive line is pretty good, assuming they're
Starting point is 00:37:26 healthy. I believe in terms of him being an average NFL passer, yes. Believe it in terms of him being a top five or six fantasy quarterback, no. No, I don't think we can go there. Top 12
Starting point is 00:37:42 though? It's too far. If we compare the quarterbacks that we've gotten excited about, I don't think we can go there. Top 12 though. It's too far. I, if we compare the quarterbacks that we've gotten excited about Baker Mayfield, Derek Carr, Sam Darnold, am I missing anyone? I feel Darnold's turn at the top. We'll put him at the top.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Sure. And then he's going to wet down his leg and then we're going to move somebody else to the top. Darryl saw an O'Neill played most of the snaps. Darryl saw him as six snaps. O'Neal played most of the snaps. Derrisson missed six snaps. O'Neal missed three. So call that a false alarm on them. Wet down is like, you know,
Starting point is 00:38:10 there was a debate in the office when I used to work there like 10 years ago, whether it was, you know, go number one down your leg or go number two down your leg. Well, it depends on how bad you mess up. Well, I always thought it was go number one. I never heard the go number.
Starting point is 00:38:24 I think it's pee down, you know, whiz down your leg or whatever. I think wet was the better way to say it if you're on a podcast. Yeah, it was okay. All right, so those are your top five quarterbacks for week three going into Sunday night. Dak Prescott, Sam Darnold, Brock Purdy, Andy Dalton, and Lamar Jackson, Malik Willis. They're tied for fifth.
Starting point is 00:38:43 Top five running backs. Any guesses? Well, Saquon is going to be up there. Derrick Henry is going to be up there. Kyron Williams is going to be up there. Yeah. Those are the top three. Chuba had over 100 yards.
Starting point is 00:38:56 You got the top four. You're crushing it, Dave. Can you go five for five, folks? Zemir White. Jonathan Taylor. Jonathan Taylor. Yes. Two touchdowns and over 100 yards for him.
Starting point is 00:39:11 All right. So it's Barkley, Henry, Kyron, Hubbard, and Taylor. Where was Charbonnet? Seventh. Tied for six with Aaron Jones. Excellent. Yeah. Those guys,
Starting point is 00:39:26 those top seven were all well ahead of number eight, David Montgomery, who scored 20 points. The other scored 25 or more. But yeah, is anything interesting to say about Barkley,
Starting point is 00:39:33 Henry, Kyron, Hubbard, or Taylor? You can enjoy Chuba Hubbard while you can. Once Jonathan Brooks comes back, I don't think Hubbard's going away,
Starting point is 00:39:44 but there will be a workload split to some degree where Brooks is eased in, and then theoretically Brooks will have the talent to just kind of take over. It is pretty amazing that Chuba Hubbard was a top five running back this week and Miles Sanders scored a touchdown. A goal line touchdown. That's up to the Raiders' run defenses. Yeah. Cincinnati next week for them. Do we up to the Raiders' run defenses. Yeah. Cincinnati next week for them.
Starting point is 00:40:08 Do we still think the Bengals are a bad matchup? They're a great matchup. They're a bad run defense. That's what I mean. Yeah, I think I'm going to start Chuba next week. I think so, too. All right, let's go to our top five wide receivers for week three.
Starting point is 00:40:21 Juwan Jennings, 46 fantasy points. My gosh. 11 catches, 175 yards, and three touchdowns. Sonings, 46 fantasy points. My gosh. 11 catches, 175 yards and three touchdowns. So it's 46.5. Amari Cooper's two Malik neighbors, three Deontay Johnson for no chance. You get number five.
Starting point is 00:40:38 I'll even give you the division NFC North. Jalen Naylor. No, no. Oh, that's a great guess. It can't be a Munra. There definitely wasn't Naylor. No. Oh, that's a great guess. It can't be a Munro. There definitely wasn't a Packers receiver.
Starting point is 00:40:49 Oh, I got it. Romo Dunzay. Romo Dunzay. Jennings, Cooper, neighbors, Deontay. What do you think about this? Romo Dunzay. You know, remember someone said, beat the waiver wire.
Starting point is 00:41:01 Who should I beat the waiver wire with? I said, Romo Dunzay. Don't be dropping him. Six catches, 112 yards and a touchdown. What's his roster percentage? It's like 64 or something. Okay. Too low.
Starting point is 00:41:13 64. Made me pretty, I mean, I've got him on a lot of benches, which really felt great to beat the waiver wire and see that on your bench. But I'm not going to necessarily feel very confident in throwing him back. No, not at all. Next week.
Starting point is 00:41:23 No, I definitely stash him. Would they they throw 54 times i had it at 52 uh caleb anyway but i i don't know if you guys agree with this it felt like caleb williams we just know this links to a doomsday 363 yards two touchdowns two picks some of the emptiest stats of the year right yes yes Yes. Yeah. Yes. He was at times, like at times it was like he and Anthony Richardson were having a duel to see who could look the worst. A stink off. Yes. All right.
Starting point is 00:41:53 So doomsday we'll, we'll say pick them up, but don't be too excited to get them back in your lap. Remember Keenan Allen did not play tight ends. Number one. I think, you know, Dave. Yeah. Got her. Yeah. Number one, I think you know, Dave. Yeah, got her. Yeah. Number two.
Starting point is 00:42:08 I was going to mess around and say something. Ferguson's got to be up there. Number two. I'm going to even give you the division, the NFC North. It's Cole Komet. Cole Komet, huge game. He was one of my favorite streamers this week, so nice job for Cole Komet.
Starting point is 00:42:21 And then Ferguson. Ferguson was up there, right? Yeah, then Conklin and then Noah Fant. Noah Fant had a game, huh? Yeah. I always think of Heath when... What did he do? Did he score?
Starting point is 00:42:32 Six for 60. And that's good enough to be a tie. That's tied in five. Tied in five. Oh, I hate this position. Yeah, well, if you picked up Ferguson, because people did drop him as well or if you just you know held him i think i don't see a scenario or tony to sit jake ferguson anytime
Starting point is 00:42:49 soon so that's good he was started in only 42 of cbs leagues if we're redrafting today jake ferguson is tight end what my gosh if we're redrafting tight ends today, he's probably going to have to be like maybe five. I don't know. Don't ask me to name the four ahead of him. Five. Yeah. Right now, Kit,
Starting point is 00:43:13 Kit, no, not Kits. Pits and Kelsey are playing right now. So we have a sort of an incomplete picture, but I, yeah, I mean,
Starting point is 00:43:21 Ferguson is going to. The Chiefs are employing the do not cover Drake London coverage, so I don't think Pitts is going to get a lot of targets. Saw that. All right, let's go to the games here. I'm going to start with the late games because, you know, they were just better. Unless anyone cares about almost touchdowns. Nothing too big.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Sure, lay it on me. No, I don't need any more sadness. Rasheed Shahid nearly came up with a deep ball. D.J. Moore had a 44-yard catch on a Hail Maryary he was like a half so he got lucky with that but a little unlucky was a half yard short of a touchdown bucky irving carried to the one yard line um and then i think rashad white scored after that no no it was the chris goblin touchdown i think after that uh daniel jones missed theo johnson wide open but then he threw it in the league neighbors for a touchdown. He neighbors could have had an even bigger day. He was, may have had like a 35 yard touchdown, but Daniel Jones again, missed him.
Starting point is 00:44:12 David Montgomery came up inches short of a touchdown. I think he scored right after, if I'm not mistaken. So my bad. Cortland Sutton had an almost touchdown. Aaron Jones came up a yard short of a touchdown and, uh, let's go to the games. Okay. Carolina 36, Las Vegas 22. That's what I'm starting with.
Starting point is 00:44:29 That's an interesting choice. But I think we've pretty much talked about Carolina all we need to. So let's talk about Las Vegas. Big day for Jacoby Myers. Bad day for Devontae Adams. Dave, you were saying so high after last week. He did have nine targets, but only eight fantasy points.
Starting point is 00:44:45 There was a quarterback change in the fourth quarter. Minshew was benched. Sorry, Heath. I'm sorry to make you sadder than you already are. O'Connell came in and he had a bunch of dangerous throws, but he finished 9 of 12 for 82 yards. A touchdown to... Was his touchdown to Tucker?
Starting point is 00:45:01 Tucker, yeah. Pretty sure. Yeah, listen. It's not going to be a great year for Devante Adams. I think he's still going to have some big games along the way, but I think he's really had one good half of football through three games. And that makes me a little bit nervous. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:20 So rest of season, Devante Adams or Jawan Jennings. All right. Devante Adams is the answer there. But is he a top 20 receiver rest of season? I'm feeling a little shaky about that. I would say no. Devante Adams or Deontay Johnson rest of season?
Starting point is 00:45:42 Devante Adams. Yeah, I don't think I'm ready to let go of Devante Adams. Yeah. I don't think I'm ready to let go of Devante. All right. That's it. Johnson had a great game with Andy Dalton's first start against the Raiders. A little context here.
Starting point is 00:45:58 I mean, I think if we compare Andy Dalton's performance against the Raiders to Lamar Jackson's and Justin Herbert's. Oh, sure. That's true. Andy Dalton looks pretty good. Andy Dalton played great.
Starting point is 00:46:12 I don't really know. I didn't see the tape, but yeah, I know. I'm sorry. Heath. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:17 My home's pick, but yeah, Andy Dalton play great. No, no question. All right. Baltimore 28, Dallas 25.
Starting point is 00:46:24 It was the game of the week. The fourth quarter was. Except for people who started CeeDee Lamb. Or Zay Flowers. Or Mark Andrews. Yeah. As I said, 15 pass attempts for Lamar Jackson. That's insane.
Starting point is 00:46:41 Andrews still only got one target. No catches. catches by low or heck no the one thing I'm worried about is if you buy low what's the ceiling from week to week I'm not selling low. Are you starting them? Because the next few games should be Derrick Henry games. Now, I would imagine that eventually the Ravens are going to say, hey, we've got this great tight end. He's got this history with our quarterback. Why not try and find a touchdown for him?
Starting point is 00:47:22 Kind of make him happy a little bit. But I think the Ravens can get their run game going. This is six straight quarters that their run game has looked pretty good. I don't think they're going to let it up. I'm probably, like honestly, if I'm a Mark Andrews manager, and I am in a couple leagues, I'm probably just starting him and just not doing anything. And it might just continue to suck.
Starting point is 00:47:49 But I'm not going to pick up Noah Fant and start him over Mark Andrews. I'm not going to do it. And another game with a big target share. I know it was only four targets for Zay Flowers, but he had a 25% target share. He's a focal point for sure. All right, Dave, we'll go to the Cowboys side of it.
Starting point is 00:48:08 And maybe, you know, Dave, if you could pull up the snap counts, maybe the first time we're seeing Rico Dowdle kind of push ahead a little bit here. Eight carries, three catches. You're not going to like what you hear. Really? Because he had a lot more. He had 11 touches
Starting point is 00:48:24 and Zeke only had four. Okay, so the good news is Rico did have more than... Rico played 46% of the snaps. Zeke played 20%. Rico looks like the better running back. Four different guys ended up playing running back for the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. Okay, Hunter Lupke. Is that his name?
Starting point is 00:48:45 Yeah. He played eight of nine snaps on third downs as the only running back on the field for the Cowboys. Oh, geez. Their only snap inside the 10 might have happened on a third down play. And then Deuce Vaughn at 7% of the snaps. Four guys. That's annoying.
Starting point is 00:49:01 Yeah. I don't know if you can feel good about Doudle getting to 10 PPR points in a game. Is CeeDee Lamb still... Is he the number one wide receiver in fantasy? Who's the number one wide receiver in fantasy from week four on? Besides Juwan James.
Starting point is 00:49:17 Yeah. From week four on, who's the best receiver? I would put Justin Jefferson ahead of CeeDee Lamb. And as silly as it sounds, man, because the last two weeks have been awesome i'd think about malik neighbors i think about it he's amazing he's really really i don't see you gotta put nico collins ahead of malik neighbors right i don't think you have even in a bad day for for Nico Collins, he had double-digit targets, I think. I was so angry with them. They pulled C.J. Stroud, and they got Davis Mills throwing hospital balls
Starting point is 00:49:50 to Nico and Tank Dell and Stephon Diggs in the fourth quarter. If you're going to pull C.J. Stroud, then Nico Collins and Stephon Diggs and Tank Dell should not be in the game. I would definitely take Lamb over Malik Neighbors, though. I'm just going to say. I would, too.
Starting point is 00:50:04 And Nico. I think you made a great point, Heath, just. I'm just going to say. I would, too. And Nico. I think you made a great point, Heath, just bringing up that all of the holdout wide receivers, the big three of Lamb and Chase and Ayuk, they're all just off to terrible starts. So hopefully better times ahead. All right. I'm good with this game unless you guys, well,
Starting point is 00:50:19 we can talk about Jalen Tolbert on the Waver Wire show. All right. Seattle 24, Miami 3. Can you even trust A-Chan next week? You will. Yeah. Here's the thing. I don't think you can necessarily call A-Chan.
Starting point is 00:50:41 I was viewing A-Chan as still a must start, and Tyreek as still a must start. Yes. But I could absolutely have Devon A-Chan and Zach Charbonnet and Jordan Mason on a team. And now I don't think I'm starting Devon A-Chan anymore. Yeah. Well, I could have Malik Neighbors and I don't know.
Starting point is 00:51:00 Right. But we did. Even Dave and Jamie liked Malik Neighbors. I think they had Tyreek kill ahead of neighbors this week. Like we had Hill ranked as a, as a must start wide receiver. Yeah. And I,
Starting point is 00:51:11 I think maybe, maybe there's not any must start dolphins. Three catches for 40 yards on five targets. He did lead his team in receiving though. That was cool. A Chan had, uh, you know,
Starting point is 00:51:23 11 carries three catches, 58 total yards. So tough game. That's not the same. I want to be very clear. That's not the same as saying that I'm saying you should sit A-chan or Tyreek Hill next week. I'm just saying I'm not sure you should view them as, oh, I can't take those guys out of my lineup. You might have two better options. Right.
Starting point is 00:51:41 So there's that. You might have two better options, and your example is a really good one. And the other reason why we start Tyreek Hill and Devon Achan and to a degree, Jalen Waddle, and this is independent of the quarterback is we know what they're capable of. We know that they could have 20, 25 PPR points and we want that in our lineup. We don't want that on our bench. and so is it getting a little too cute even with the bad quarterback play well how do you sit juwan jennings next week then you know he could score 46 fantasy points bro well but it's the first time he's a man or you heard about did juwan jennings like cut your ac at your house or something
Starting point is 00:52:21 what's going on with you no it's okay. He had a game of his life. Yeah, I think that you can... The Dolphins, I hope they make a move. This is unbelievable. They just can't proceed with this. Their season's going to just spiral. On the other side, Jackson, Smith, and Jigba was started in 62% of leagues.
Starting point is 00:52:41 I think that was a pretty responsible reaction to last week, to the combination of the first two weeks. And he stunk three catches for 39 yards on three targets. Gino Smith threw for 289 yards. It wasn't like they just ran the clock out and he just had a bad game. Jason Dave. I think you're usually pretty good at this.
Starting point is 00:53:01 I'd like for you to tell me, Dave, like what's the Tyler Lockett week and what's the Juwan Jennings week? But I have to go now. So maybe you can tell me later in the week. Heath's going to hop off and do HQ and Dave and I are going to finish up. I don't know what that meant. Sorry. So I meant to mute
Starting point is 00:53:16 my cough. No. Which one's the Juwan Jennings week? No, he wants to know the Lockett JSN week thing. How do we know? I think JSN had a big game last week because for a while, Charbonnet was inefficient running the football. And I think they just had it in their minds to use JSN as a short area target. And he did get loose for a couple of longer throws against the Patriots.
Starting point is 00:53:39 It was also a competitive game. They won in the end, but it wasn't a blowout. This week was a blowout. So it's kind of surprising that Genino even threw the ball 34 times. Oof, man, this person in our chat bench Jennings for JSN. You did the right thing. You did the right thing. You didn't do the right thing, obviously, but it's really hard to make the case. It was so hard to make the case for John Jennings for the game and say something like, oh yeah, he could go off for, you know fantasy points you could look at jennings for the game and say
Starting point is 00:54:09 five for 50 no problem he's gonna get you that so that's a nice safe floor but this this is what fantasy football is like sometimes players are gonna come out of nowhere and they're gonna have huge games and then the next week you you just know that three weeks from now, Juwan Jennings is going to be like on 75% of waiver wires because people are going to leave him. Well, but yeah, but I wouldn't leave him. It would be terrible even if there is no Debo or Kittle back for the Niners. Yeah. Again, though.
Starting point is 00:54:38 This happens. Isaiah likely happened. Yeah, I understand that, but we're also missing the point. You talk about Kittle and Debo. The other guy is McCaffrey. That is so many targets. They don't throw to Jordan Mason. No, no.
Starting point is 00:54:53 It's true. I think I only had Jennings in one league. I did start him. I'm going to freaking lose in my Jawan Jennings league. Jawan Jennings plus Rashid Shahid wasn't really that good at the end of the day. But, all right, Dave, we're not going nearly fast enough here. So Detroit 20, Arizona 13. Gosh, I mean, I guess it wasn't a bad game for golf because he only threw 23 passes,
Starting point is 00:55:15 and he did well. I did not know how the hook and ladder was going to be scored. It was scored as a passing touchdown. He threw a pass to St. Brown, who quickly lateraled it to Jameer Gibbs, who scored on the hook and ladder, and that counted as a touchdown pass for Goff, a catch for St. Brown, and a touchdown for Jameer Gibbs, who had one receiving touchdown on zero catches. Jameer Gibbs.
Starting point is 00:55:43 So that was interesting. Imagine losing your fantasy matchup with Jameer Gibbs in PPR by one point. Yeah. I don't think, I'm pretty sure David Montgomery has outscored him for the year. I can look it up. It's really close. They're basically putting up the same amount of fantasy points like every week. So they're like around
Starting point is 00:56:05 17 points in ppr and montgomery had three more catches today anyway just keep starting them do you have anything to say about this game montgomery is averaging 18.2 ppr points per game jameer gives is at 17.1 this game was a disappointment i expected it to be much more high scoring there was only three points scored in the entire second half of this game. I expected a better game from both Kyler and Marvin Harrison. Still, you love the targets from Marvin Harrison. There's 11 of those. Trey McBride, disappointment, three catches for 25 yards. I think he can bounce back. I don't think there's anything to chase with Michael Wilson for the Lions side.
Starting point is 00:56:45 It's three games of Sam Laporta being brutal and now he's hurt. The injury could end up being a blessing because now you won't start him. You'll stream another tight end. And I would expect Jamison Williams to bounce back from this bad game. Yeah. And you get a matchup of maybe the two best tight ends and they both leave with injuries. So McBride's getting checked out for the concussion. Honestly, I'm getting a little bit tired of us acting like McBride has had some really great season. The best thing he's done is fall on a fumble in the end zone,
Starting point is 00:57:17 and he got hurt in the fourth quarter with three catches for 25 yards. So even the guy who we think is the number one tight end hasn't really been that good Rams, 27, San Francisco, 24, you know, Jordan Mason wasn't amazing, but he still had 21 touches, no issues there. So Brandon, Iuke, you're down with that by low thing. I'd buy law on him, but I'm not, I'm not acquiring him thinking of him as a top 20 fantasy receiver. It was great to see Kyron Williams score three touchdowns. I mean, the rush average might be a struggle this year, but he is just their guy, bottom line.
Starting point is 00:57:54 Any thoughts on the Rams wide receivers? It wasn't pretty. Atwell, though. Atwell had four catches for 93 yards on five targets. He had a 50-yard grab, and I think he kind of established himself as the new replacement for puka so that's bad news for tyler johnson uh whittington played a decent amount he had three catches parkinson forget about him as a streamer i think your choices are atwell and robinson moving forward and i don't know if i feel really great about either one of them
Starting point is 00:58:23 to the early games, the Giants. Is this a typo? Did they win? I'm still like not really. Not only did they win, but we had Darius Butler on CBS Sports HQ today. And he called this. He said that the Giants would win outright. It was his bold prediction of the week.
Starting point is 00:58:42 Darius Butler nailed it. Awesome, John. I got to tell you something, man. I don't think Daniel Jones is the worst quarterback in the NFL anymore. I don't think he is either. Because the guy he played against today might be worse. Oh, and that's your boy. I know.
Starting point is 00:58:57 He's so bad. Now, he did make a great throw on a fourth down late in the game that was dropped. And he made some good plays in this game. But Deshaun Watson, he has no pocket awareness. He got sacked eight times. His offensive line stinks. It stinks right now. It's going to be a problem.
Starting point is 00:59:15 But can we trust Amari Cooper? Or is this a great chance to sell on Amari Cooper with seven catches, 86 yards, and two touchdowns? But this is the classic, you want to sell high on Amari Cooper with seven catches, 86 yards, and two touchdowns. But this is the classic, you want to sell high on Amari Cooper, but everyone else in the league knows that he's not as good as these numbers say. Okay, first of all, the Giants spotted the Browns a touchdown because they fumbled the opening kickoff, and that touchdown was scored by Cooper. And then Cooper did next to nothing for like the next three quarters of the game.
Starting point is 00:59:44 And he came back alive in the fourth quarter. He left the game with an injury at the very tail end, but he talked to the media after the game. He said that he himself felt like he was moving in a good direction in terms of like getting back into the swing of things. The first two weeks, he did look terrible. I think if you view Cooper as like a low-end wide receiver three, you'll do okay.
Starting point is 01:00:05 But I'm getting bad vibes about the Browns offense in general. Because of the offensive line, because they're going to have a hard time running the football, because their quarterback is a problem, this is not the type of offense that I want to trade. I want to acquire pieces of if you trade. It was good to see Jerome Ford reclaim his, his role. He, yes,
Starting point is 01:00:27 he wasn't bad, but he just didn't get enough work because they didn't have the ball that long, 26 minutes with the ball and they were trailing, which was when, when a running back plays, I'll get you the snap share in a second, but he played a ton and he didn't even get you.
Starting point is 01:00:42 Did he get you 10 PPR points? I think he did right about that funk soul brother uh yeah well like devin let's talk about devin singletary real quick snaps for jerome ford and right about 10 ppr points devin singletary started in only 36 percent of leagues he now has two games with four catches he now has two games with 14.5 or more ppr fantasy points here come the cowboys who just got run over and it's on a short week my reindeer devin singletary will be a top 24 running back no you're falling for it oh no he's falling short week short week running backs cowboys run defense is terrible. Cowboys, Giants, we'll get into that history, but it's usually
Starting point is 01:01:25 a 70-point game. Green Bay, 30, and that's not like total points. That's the margin of victory. Green Bay, 30, Tennessee, 14. Good job, Malik Willis, but I am ready for Jordan Love to come back. But what about this horrible game? I was actually concerned about Josh
Starting point is 01:01:41 Jacobs because I knew he wasn't going to catch passes. He only had one catch. He had no targets the week before. And this was by far the best run defense he was facing. So are anything to worry about here or just chalk it up to a bad game? 48 total yards, 5.8 PPR points for Jacobs. This feels like the second game in three weeks where he was outplayed by his backup. And Emmanuel Wilson looked like the better running back. He had a better rushing average. He had a great catch and run for 30 yards in the game. That stuff kind of makes me a little nervous,
Starting point is 01:02:15 but I'm still willing to roll with Jacobs as at worst a number two fantasy running back, especially when we get Jordan Love back under center for the Packers. Yeah. All right. And then for Tennessee, what'd you make of the Hopkins-Ridley split? Ridley, one catch for nine yards on three targets. Hopkins, who still hasn't played a full snap share, but finally starting to play more, six for 73 and a touchdown on seven targets. So this guy's only 67% rostered Deandre Hopkins.
Starting point is 01:02:49 I don't know if it's a by-product of Jair Alexander erasing Calvin Ridley, or if the Packers did more than that to try and limit Calvin Ridley and we'll live it. We'll let us did a good job of just throwing to the guy who was open. And that was Deandre Hopkins. It could have been that way. But I didn't see enough of this game to make a educated guess on what happened all i can tell you is that will levis is is a rough mess a quarterback yeah i would say that you know i said to heath on um the morning show that i really wanted to
Starting point is 01:03:19 sell high on remandre stevenson and i knew i missed my chance you know i was like that you know it's over I can't do it now and I said going in I was like I was like I'm gonna feel the same way about Calvin I feel like I'm gonna feel the same way about Calvin Ridley and I do uh but I decided not to be too aggressive because I actually felt like you watch all the tape I actually felt like Will Levis you know going going into this game in week two he He makes horrible mistakes. He did it again with the pick six. But he's actually not throwing the ball that point. It's not like Bo Nix here.
Starting point is 01:03:52 He can give you wide receiver production, I think. So I hope it was just a Jair Alexander thing. I'm a little more hopeful. After I watched Will Levis, I was a little more hopeful for Calvin Ridley than i was before when i was just like oh this is obvious so high but but he still hasn't really seen a full snap share of deandre hopkins and we'll see how much that hurts him all right bears and colts
Starting point is 01:04:16 no talk of the titans run game i don't know if there's anything to really say about it give me 30 20 seconds well pollard and Spears combined for eight carries Tennessee definitely got away from it pretty quickly in this game and I think that's part of what put more pressure on Levis and did them in all right I don't think it'll be like this moving forward by the way I think Pollard will be okay the Colts it would surprise me if Pollard is the start of the week next week for Mr. Jamie Eisenberg. Against Miami. That's right. The Colts, 21.
Starting point is 01:04:49 The Bears, 16. Bears had the ball for 10 more minutes than the Colts. Major takeaways from this game. How did the Colts win? It's crazy to me because of what Richardson was like as a quarterback. And there are going to have to be some conversations had about Richardson and whether or not we trust him for our fantasy teams, because I don't know what the formula
Starting point is 01:05:12 is going to be for the Colts moving forward. It should be, let's try to not have Richardson throw the ball. That should be their plan. Let them run, let taylor run be a run heavy offense stick with it and then gradually try and like give him easy throws to make but he just was brutal and we talked about it we talked about the interception the end zone he basically threw it to triple coverage yeah completely missed the mark on where he was supposed to go with the football no idea what he was thinking i think we pretty much covered this game just throughout the show, but I will ask you this. Would you,
Starting point is 01:05:48 if someone dropped Michael Pittman in a 12 team league, would you pick him up? Sure. I don't know if I'd start him, but is he a good bench receiver? Definitely. Okay. Five weeks are coming up.
Starting point is 01:05:59 You can use them then. So let the team or tied for the team leading targets with five. But this is, this is part of what was really worrying me about Michael Pittman this year and why I didn't draft him. Yeah. Was because not only is Richardson a question mark just in general as a quarterback, but when they get near the goal line, he's got like no chance of scoring.
Starting point is 01:06:18 And he's not the type of receiver that's going to break a bunch of long plays for touchdowns. He's done it, but he doesn't do it all the time. He's not in the same type of tier as other wide receivers in the league. I think Roshan played, by the way, as the third down back for Chicago. Travis Homer was that guy. He's on IR. And so Roshan got that opportunity to be the third down running back.
Starting point is 01:06:42 And he did pretty well in the game. Khalil Herbert barely played, and he still almost scored a touchdown. Don't ask me to pick the third down running back. And he did pretty well in the game. Khalil Herbert barely played and he still almost scored a touchdown. Don't ask me to pick the big front. We got to take a break here. We got a few games left. Denver and Tampa Bay when we come back on Fantasy Football today.
Starting point is 01:06:56 Four more games. Four more minutes. Heath is back. Denver 26, Tampa Bay 17. We talked about the Broncos, their run game. Passing game, Cortland Sutton, 76% rostered. Finally had a decent game, 13.8 fantasy points.
Starting point is 01:07:10 On the other side of the ball, are we worried about Mike Evans? This is two stinkers in a row. This was a horrible game. Two catches for 17 yards on three targets. Heath, worried about Mike Evans, or we just chalk it up to Sertan? I'm prepared to be worried about Mike Evans, but I am just chalking this up to Sertan. If we get a third straight bad game in a row,
Starting point is 01:07:28 then I will be worried about Mike Evans, but he is kind of the profile of player. While he's been really consistent with double-digit touchdowns most seasons and 1,000 yards every single season, it's not like he's been super consistent on a week-to-week basis because he's a big play guy that scores a lot of touchdowns. You have to live with weeks like this. I'm still starting him next week.
Starting point is 01:07:48 All right, Minnesota 34 and Houston 7? Did I get that right? Sometimes I have to check these scores. The Vikings have given up 30 points this season. Their quarterbacks have combined for two touchdowns, five interceptions, and 15 sacks against this defense. Yeah, it's a matchup to avoid. Well, Cam Akers scored.
Starting point is 01:08:14 Woo! Yeah, Tank Dell did not. Dave, what's your panic level for Tank Dell, who had an okay game, five for 62. Did he get hurt? I don't think he got hurt. He was on the sideline with someone looking at his chest or shoulder, but I guess it was okay.
Starting point is 01:08:31 He limped out of that game at the end of the game. Like you were saying, Davis Mills came in and was throwing lobs. Yeah, he came out. Good. He caught one of those hospital balls? Is that what happened? Yeah, he did. He was air-milled. He didn't catch the ball. When do we start Tank Dell? caught one of those hospital balls is that what happened yeah he did well that's his air meld he
Starting point is 01:08:46 didn't catch the ball when do we start tank dell do we need to see something first either that or else is a bi-week replacement so yeah i think it's interesting comparing him to somebody like jsn because we've seen it once from jsn this year but also like twice in two years and we've seen it four times from tank dell in the last two years but zero times this year i kind of view them the same give me dell dell so rank tank dell juwan jennings and jsn next week oh next week uh probably jennings yeah jennings is going to be at the top of that list if there's no Debo and Kittle. Yeah, if Debo and Kittle are out. Jennings, Dell, JSN.
Starting point is 01:09:28 Okay. I mean, it's very clear he's the number three receiver, and it's not going to be a rotation of one week Collins and Dell, one week Dell and Diggs, and so on and so forth. I take it back. I would try to get – I would move Dell – I would move Jennings to super flex. I would bench Hertz for him,
Starting point is 01:09:45 and then I would get Dell in my lineup at receiver. All right, so that's Dell. And Aaron Jones, sell high because he's got this injury history. Is he a sell high for you or just ride it out? I'm riding it out. I'd like to sell high if I can.
Starting point is 01:10:01 Okay. Pittsburgh 20, Chargers 10. Maybe, maybe. Is it time to drop Jalen Warren? Is he just a handcuff? I don't even know if he would be the handcuff. Yeah, Cordero Patterson
Starting point is 01:10:15 exists. Yeah. Najee Harris has had 17 or more carries in all three games. Will he ever score a touchdown? He should have scored
Starting point is 01:10:23 a touchdown at the end of the game today. He was tackled down at the one charges were out of timeouts there was less than two minutes on the clock it was a ball game they took kneels knee down kneel downs after that this is a fantastic suggestion i appreciate this what happened a volunteer mod got a volunteer mod. What's a mod? For the chat. Moderator. Oh, a moderator. Oh, yeah, we had a lot of spam in the moderator. Schaefer's been banning people left and right,
Starting point is 01:10:54 and he said, what I do have are a very particular set of skills. He went all taken on the spammers. I love it. All right, last game is Phil. All right, hey, real quick, give me your thoughts on George Pickens. He's a top blank wide receiver rest of season.
Starting point is 01:11:09 30. At minimum. Okay, he was okay today. Pickens had five catches for 57 yards on seven targets. Basically the same as Tankdale. Philadelphia 15 and New Orleans 12. So anything we didn't cover here? I mean, well, okay.
Starting point is 01:11:26 If you picked up Derek Carr, because he's 91% rostered, do you drop him or do you just say, eh, bad game? I think a lot of people will drop him. And the thought will be
Starting point is 01:11:39 that he's gone back to being the Derek Carr of old and that what we saw in the first two weeks of the season is not the real Derek Carr. But this is still a changed Saints offense just in general. What I don't like is that it was a competitive back and forth game. This is going to sound funny. I didn't like that Carr only threw it 25 times and that Alvin Kamara had 26 carries. I agree. Okay, but I like it as an Alvin
Starting point is 01:12:06 Kamara manager. Not me, man. Keep him healthy. That's too much work. I'm sorry, Dave. What'd you say? It's too many carries for him in general. 20-year-olds shouldn't be getting that much work, but why didn't Carr throw a little bit more
Starting point is 01:12:22 and Kamara a little bit less? Maybe they just thought that Kamara was good. He averaged 3.3 yards per carry. He had some nice runs, but he had a lot of crappy runs too. That sounded funny. Derek Carr is probably not going to be a top 12 quarterback next week. No. All right.
Starting point is 01:12:40 Well, I wouldn't mind hanging on to him. I would like to give the Saints another look to see how legit they are. They've got Atlanta next week, and then they're at Kansas City after that. I think Taysom Hill is a fairly important player for them, especially with just the amount of tight ends. They use a lot of tight ends. I think I read that they use three receiver sets less than any team in the league. So they run their offense with tight ends, and Hill was not in the game.
Starting point is 01:13:05 So maybe that was one of the reasons they struggled, and they struggled to in the league. So they run their offense with tight ends and Hill was not in the game. So maybe that was one of the reasons they struggled and they struggled to run the ball. Okay, thank you all. We will talk to you. We'll stay tuned for FFT Express if you'd like. And we got Beyond the Box score tomorrow for Heath and Dave. I'm Adam.
Starting point is 01:13:17 Talk to you tomorrow on Fantasy Football Today. Paramount Podcasts
