This is Fantasy Football Today from CBS Sports.
What a play!
Can you believe this?
I know I can.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
This is going to go the distance.
Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
Wow, that was an exciting way to finish off the Sunday games.
Of course, not including Sunday night football.
A Hail Mary victory for the first place Washington Commanders.
Unbelievable.
And Jaden Daniels, I think he was started in fewer than 30% of leagues.
26%, he finishes with 24.2 fantasy points.
About nine of them coming on
that play. Welcome everybody to Fantasy Football
Today presented by BetMGM, the sports
book born in Vegas. Adam and Heath
here. Dave and Jamie will be joining us
shortly. We are
trying to sort through this madness
here. Heath, in the first 4 weeks
of the season combined,
first 4 weeks combined,
there were only nine tight ends
who scored 16 or more PPR fantasy points.
Right.
Eight did it today.
It's National Tight End Day.
It is National Tight End Day.
And you know what?
I was like, damn, this is crazy.
You know how many did it last week?
Seven.
It's actually been quite a bounce-back season
for tight ends.
Well, I think just for everything, like Patrick Mahomes
scored 22 fantasy points for the first
time in a regular season game since
like
the 2022
season or something. Third time in his last
20 games, I think. 19 or
20 games. And he's not a top 12 quarterback.
Yeah, man.
Scoring is back. Scoring is back.
We don't live in that horrible
world anymore where nobody was good. So speaking of which, who's the biggest winner for you this
week? Who loves the Knicks more, me or you? I love the Knicks more. Bo Knicks, 35 fantasy points
against the Carolina Panthers. And yes, it's the free space Carolina Panthers but it was just everything that we'd hope for big passing numbers rushing touchdown and he gets the pass funnel Baltimore Ravens
next week there's no way Denver is going to be able to run against them and their secondary is
not any good Jamin Jameis just had a 300 yard day against him Bo Nix is going to be a top 12
quarterback again on week nine 63% rostered at Baltimore.
36% started.
I was pretty impressed with that.
No.
36% started?
That's what I showed in my app.
Wow.
I have a big typo then.
Let me check here.
Let me make sure I have his roster percentage right.
Yeah, 63%.
You're absolutely right.
63% rostered, 36% started.
I don't know what I was typing there.
Yeah, so he goes for 284-3 passing
and a rushing touchdown as well against Carolina.
Now he has scored 24.7 or more fantasy points
in three of his last four games,
so something we're going to have to take seriously.
And Baltimore's defense is just not good.
I mean, it's just a terrible pass defense.
All right, biggest loser, Heath.
Who you got for the biggest loser?
You know, there were a lot of losers.
It might be that the answer is actually the Packers pass catchers
because we've got an injury to watch with Jordan Love and a groin.
But I'll say, like, non-injury related, it has to be Amari Cooper.
We thought after that first game they're like oh man look what he did in just 16 snaps maybe he should only play 16 snaps
because he was not very good in this game great day for keon coleman great day for james cook
great day for the bills offense and amari Cooper did almost nothing. He was one
of those guys that I kind of thought would maybe moved into the just we don't think about it. He's
a must start wide receiver. We don't have to consider him anymore. And he is right back where
he was. One catch for three yards on two targets. You didn't even say the name of their leading
receiver. Khalil Shakir. Big game. Khalil Shakir had a good game too. Pretty sure he was their leading receiver.
He had nine catches for 107 yards.
He has caught 36 of 38 targets this year, Khalil Shakir.
That's incredible.
Yeah, Cooper, that was bizarre.
I was really surprised by that.
I have him in a couple leagues.
I'm going to start him next week.
Yeah, that's all I have to say.
I'm going to start him next week against Miami, that's all I have to say. I'm going to start him next week against Miami.
Against Miami.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, just call it a bad game.
But Keon Coleman is another guy we might need to take seriously here.
It's two good games in a row for Keon Coleman.
73% rostered, only 25% started.
We'll have plenty of time to talk about that later in the week.
We'll have more winners and losers for you.
We do have some buy or sell for you coming up.
We have the injuries that we'll talk about,
including Jordan Love and Drake May. But we have BetMGM that we need to talk about, okay?

Jordan Love left in the third quarter with a groin injury. Matt LaFleur said he was concerned
after the game.
There was also a report that they feel like
it may not be super long-term.
I don't know if they, they don't use the word super,
but we'll just wait and see.
He is getting an MRI tomorrow, I believe.
Yeah.
Figured as much.
Drake May left with a concussion
and Jacoby Brissett led them to victory.
And the Jets are in a dark place,
according to Aaron Rodgers.
They are, which is Aaron Rodgers' favorite place. I think it was their coach that actually Jets are in a dark place, according to Aaron Rodgers. Which is Aaron Rodgers' favorite place.
I think it was their coach that actually said they were in a dark place.
And Rodgers was like, yeah, I'm good with this.
Yeah, Coach Brick.
But Drake May left, and we hope he's back next week at Tennessee.
Chase Brown, this was a big news item that I didn't know.
Chase Brown for the Bengals and Sidney Brown for the Eagles.
They faced each other today. Do you know what I'm about
to tell you? I believe they are twins.
Identical twins.
Yeah. They weren't today.
They were wearing different uniforms. Maybe they switched, though.
Yeah. No one knows.
No one knows.
Josh Jacobs. Dave mentioned that
he may have left late. Oh, here comes Dave.
I'll ask Dave. Hey, Dave.
What's up, foo did josh jacobs leave
he walked off with a trainer at the end of the game but then was interviewed by
by the broadcast after so i don't think there's anything there he had a little limp he did yeah
mary had a little limp is that? I think that's kind of funny. Yeah, it's not fun to make fun of injuries.
By the way, hey, congrats to the Chicago Bears on their win against Washington.
I saw that Rochon touch, and I said, that's it.
Turned off the TV.
Went and got some buffalo chicken dip out of the fridge.
Awesome game.
Had the dip and came right to the show.
All right.
Crazy finish.
Okay.
Kendrick Miller left in the second half.
Christian Kirk.
Oh, this is actually
a pretty big deal.
All three Jaguars wide receivers
left with injuries.
Oh, my goodness.
That actually happened.
Yeah.
Christian Kirk's looked not good.
Yeah, that one seems like
it might be the worst.
It's a shoulder injury for Kirk.
But all three,
Gabe Davis, Christian Kirk,
Brian Thomas,
they left with injuries at Philadelphia next week. Sterling Shepard left with a hamstring
injury, but he returned. Calvin Ridley got dinged up late. He had 100 yards in the first quarter,
and Stefan Diggs hurt his knee, and that one could be bad. Yes, that one looked bad too.
Yeah, so we'll keep our fingers crossed for Calvin Ridley. I think Tank Dell had two catches
at the time of the injury, and I believe he finished with four catches in the game. Thankfully, one of them was in the end zone.
Cincinnati offensive tackle Orlando Brown left with a knee injury. Houston,
already a bad offensive line or a struggling offensive line. Jarrett Patterson left with
a concussion for them. The Jaguars lost two linemen in the game, but one of them came back,
but both guards left. Brandon Scherf left for Jacksonville, but Ezra Cleveland came back.
So rough day for Jacksonville in that game against the Packers, a three-point loss.
Who also had a rough day if Jordan loves out for a while.
Linebacker C.J. Mosley for the Jets.
He left with a neck injury.
Cleveland linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Karamoa was also left with a neck injury. He was carted off. And cornerback Denzel Ward left with a neck injury. Cleveland linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Karamoa was also left with a neck injury.
He was carted off.
And cornerback Denzel Ward left with a concussion.
I think that's his fifth concussion.
Jacksonville cornerback Ronald Darby left.
Jacksonville, geez, tough one for them.
Miami safety Javon Holland.
Green Bay safety Evan Williams.
Houston defensive tackle Tim Settle.
Baltimore nose tackle Michael Pierce.
Philadelphia cornerback Darius Slay.
They all left with injuries.
We're going to do one buy or sell.
Then we'll take a break.
Then we'll do more buy or sell.
But let's start with this buy or sell from Julio.
Buy or sell.
Just start Baker Mayfield no matter what.
28.3 fantasy points against the Falcons today.
Started in only 36% of leagues.
I'll be nervous doing it next week against Kansas city. I don't know if I'm going
to rank them top 12 next week against Kansas city. And I didn't watch enough of that game to know,
but I can look in the box score and definitely see that he was leaning on his tight end and
his running backs a lot. And I don't know if that's, can you think of somebody, Heath? I mean, maybe somebody like, I don't know,
where they were able to put up huge points week in and week out
with just tight ends and running backs, no wide receiver contributors.
Mahomes.
Tom Brady.
Tom Brady did it for like half a decade.
Well, yeah, and he had multiple times.
Wait a minute.
He also had some good slot receivers along the way
i'm not willing to say that brady was the one that did this like he got nothing out of his
receivers oh that's i mean somebody named rakeem jarrett had 58 yards
no you're right and he threw two interceptions but he he threw 50 passes. And listen, I can think of three examples.
I know there were three.
I feel like I can only think of two.
But three examples where a quarterback threw 50 passes,
and the following week the pass catchers really let us down.
It was the Packers one week.
It was the Cousins game against the Falcons in that first game.
The following week they let us down.
Against the Buccaneers.
Yeah, sorry, against the Buccaneers.
And then what was the third one?
I know there was a third one.
Jano?
Caleb Williams, maybe?
Caleb Williams was one.
I think Caleb followed up his 50-pass game with another good game.
I actually don't think so.
Well, okay, it may have been.
Okay, honestly, it may be the quarterbacks, but the receivers were not.
But the bottom line is you buy into anything after a 50.
No, he didn't, by the way.
He had 23 pass attempts the next week for 13.5 points.
Geno in week six had 52 pass attempts.
Okay, but I don't know if it was one of those where all the receivers went.
It wasn't that great of a game.
Okay, whatever.
50 pass attempts.
Be careful buying into a 50 pass attempt game.
I think that's got to be the lesson here.
James had two
50 pass attempt games this year.
What'd you say, Heath?
I agree with Dave. I don't think Baker's going to be a top
12 quarterback next week.
Maybe in three weeks he gets
well, it's really four weeks.
He'll get Mike Evans back and you can roll with him
through the rest of the season with a really good schedule.
Alright, we'll take a break now.
And when we come back, a topic that came up on this morning's Q&A.
We'll be right back on Fantasy Football today.

It's easy. It's the law. Data sourced from the ORCGA 2023 Dirt Report.
Okay. Buy orself from Mendel.
Buy Yourself that blue-collar workers must wash their hands pre-urination.
It's straight-up dangerous not to.
I would extend it to all workers.
Agreed.
We all should wash pre.
Definitely chefs if you handle a lot of jalapenos.
Oh, gosh.
Yikes, Heath.
I believe the argument was that it was more important to do it before than after i agree it is more important to do it before and after it they're both very important but if
you had if you had to pick one it's after it's before i i know you're insane i agree with my
argument uh i'm looking at you differently now.
And I'm never shaking your hand again.
You know, well, fair enough.
Buy or sell from...
I don't even know if I want to be within a yard of you.
Buy or sell from Cat Dad.
Jalen Hurts.
Okay, just to clarify.
I didn't say that I don't wash after.
I just said it's more important to wash before than after.
But I do wash after.
Cat Dad says, buy or sell?
Jalen Hurts is QB1 rest of season.
Not buying that he's QB1 rest of season, but he's up there.
And this was a really great game for him.
But it's kind of fluky because of the rushing touchdowns.
But one of them was not a tush push.
That's kind of nice. And he had some rushing touchdowns, but one of them was not a tush push. That's kind of nice.
And he had some big strikes to Smith and A.J. Brown.
I know it wasn't Brown's best game, but he had some good catches too.
And they played Cincinnati.
So some of that gets taken away,
but it was still three rushing touchdowns for Jalen Hurts.
I think he's close to 30 fantasy points per game
in the four games that he's played with A.J. Brown.
Is that right?
I'm looking.
So it was the first two weeks of the season.
He had 20 and 25.8, right?
It was 20.4 plus 25 plus 9 plus 24 plus 8.8 plus 37.1 divided by 4, whatever that's going to get you to.
But that's three games with 24.8 or more.
That's 28?
Weighted heavily by this one.
But how would anybody put anyone ahead of Lamar Jackson?
He weighted heavily by this one.
This one's nine points away from 28.
His worst game is 20, which is eight points away from 28.
Like, it's just his average.
Okay, but who put him ahead of Lamar Jackson?
No one's putting him ahead of Lamar Jackson.
It's ridiculous.
Jamie, talk some sense.
Stay learned.
It's not QB1.
I mean, he's in the conversation.
You know, you look at Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson,
and I think when Jaden Daniels is healthy, he's going to be there,
Hail Mary notwithstanding.
There's a lot of good quarterbacks at the top.
Kirk Cousins, every time he plays Tampa Bay,
he's going to have that happen a few more times.
All right, from Rob Thomas. Buy or sell? I have no idea what to do with Ramondre Stevenson. cousins every time he plays Tampa Bay. Let's have that happen a few more times.
All right.
From Rob Thomas.
Buy or sell? I have no idea what to do with
Ramondre Stevenson.
Yeah, join the club.
Bye.
20 carries for 48 yards,
but he scored two touchdowns against the Jets.
He had three catches for 17 yards.
He was started in 39% of leagues.
There are two quarterbacks that have
averaged more fantasy points
over the last three weeks than Jalen Hurts.
Lamar Jackson and Baker McAdams.
Yes, very good.
And Russell Wilson.
Well, I mean, Russ has the one game, and he's behind Hurts.
He's behind him.
Really?
Yeah, 29.3 for Hurts, 28.9 for Russ.
Oh, right, last three.
Sam Darby, 20.3 for Hurts. 28.9 for Russ. Oh, right, last three. Right, right.
Sam Darby, 20.2.
Yeah, where do you think you'll have Ramondre Stevenson ranked at the Titans next week,
in theory, with Jacoby Brissett at quarterback?
26.
Probably around 20.
Yeah, I'll go higher than 26,
probably around the low-end RB2 range.
And that brings us to our winners and losers for Fantasy Week 8.
And Jamie said, I said, who are the winners?
Jamie said, all tight end, every tight end.
It was an amazing week.
And I said to Heath earlier, I know you guys weren't on,
eight tight ends scored 16 or more fantasy points.
And that's before Sunday night and Monday night football, by the way.
So eight tight ends scored 16 or more fantasy points.
Combined, nine tight ends did that in the first four weeks of the season.
So a great week for tight ends.
But anyway, Jamie, what stands out to you when you look at the tight ends?
And I'm sorry, let me just, before you say it, let me just give you the top.
Let me give you the eight that scored 16 or more.
It was, come on now kate otten chelsea kyle pitts jay mcbride
adam troutman david nojoku sam laporta and tucker craft there you go i was about to say that but
yeah everybody started adam troutman what what do you think man what do you think about tight end
i mean the the kate otten performance was exactly what we needed to see you know clearly it was an
exceptional day you know when he catches two touchdowns needed to see. You know, clearly it was an exceptional day, you know,
when he catches two touchdowns.
But to see him get second game in a row with ten targets,
to see him score at least once, to see another, you know,
heavily involved game in the first game without Godwin and Evans is,
you know, justification of what we were saying on Tuesday.
Like he could be a league winner and a must-start guy moving forward.
Njoku, second straight game for him with the basically lead role
or complementary role, if you want to say.
Cedric Tillman's in the lead role.
But first game without Amari Cooper last week was fantastic.
Second game was pretty solid as well.
But really, I think it was just about the guys that we've been
either wanting to see some big games or needing to see some big games.
Kyle Pitts has a nice little stretch here, and then he comes out with the multiple touchdowns.
Sam Laporta, we've been begging for a good game.
And first game without Jamison Williams, he has, you know, finds the end zone.
Both tight ends scored for the Lions in a game where, once again, Jared Goff didn't have to throw very much.
But it was just really, you know, nice to see these guys on National Tight End Day step up and perform well.
Why can't National Tight End Day be every day?
Every day, yeah.
And even the guys beyond 16 points,
Don Kincaid getting in the end zone.
It seems like just every tight end was taking part.
Yeah.
And I was wondering, I don't know if there's a way to look this up,
what are the fewest passing yards in a three-touchdown performance
for a quarterback?
Today, Jared Goff.
Is it?
It's got to be.
Right?
I have no idea, but...
At one point,
they had 42 points as a team,
and he threw for less than 50 yards
with two touchdowns.
He had 85 yards
on 15 pass attempts
and three touchdowns.
I got...
AI has to be able to answer this.
No, I can do this.
I've got the, I have the
tools. Okay. All right. So then we'll go to Dave's winners. Marvin Harrison, Jr. 62% started six
catches, 111 yards and a touchdown. Um, and Kate Otten was your other winner, but go ahead on
Marvin Harrison, Jr. Seven targets and six catches. That's a nice thing to see. And I want to look up
the numbers. I meant to do this before the show to see what the metrics were like.
What was the A dot?
I thought the touchdown throw and catch was very nice.
That was against Jalen Ramsey, I believe.
And Marvin Harrison back on the fantasy map.
And I would lean into him as a number two receiver.
Could be like around 20th.
Not top 15.
Not yet.
We'll see how many of these receiver injuries
might push him up a little bit,
but an encouraging step forward to say the least.
So look, the Dolphins were number one
against wide receivers and quarterbacks, I believe,
but I think we didn't really buy it necessarily.
They've had a pretty soft schedule.
His next two games are the Bears,
and they struggle with Hail Marys,
but they're pretty good otherwise,
and the Jets, and then a bye.
So given the struggles, now coming off this big game,
it's not the first big game he's had, right?
No.
Do you want to hang on to Marvin Harrison,
or do you want to see if you can turn him into something consistent?
No.
I mean, if you can sell high, as we say all the time, you've got to get something good for him.
You should. But I don't think anybody's buying high on Marvin Harrison. sell high as we say all the time you've got to get something good for him you you should
but i don't think anybody's buying high on marvin harrison i don't think anybody's that
desperate at receiver where they might do such a thing his adot was 19.4 yards today
very so the jared golf did not break any records today oh what do we got maybe in the like in in Maybe in recent history, but Gene Ronzani.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah, 1944, 51 yards, three passing touchdowns.
Sure, yeah.
In the 70s, the Chiefs had a quarterback named Mike Livingston.
Sure, yeah.
And twice in the same season, he threw for less than 90 yards
and three passing touchdowns in the same season.
That's right.
Same game.
Sure.
Okay, Dave had Cade Otten as his other winner. He threw for less than 90 yards and three passing touchdowns in the same season. That's right. Same game. Sure. Okay.
Dave had Kate Otten as his other winner.
So how about this?
Just to ask about Kate Otten.
It's obviously very topical.
What do we do with this Kate Otten performance?
Nine catches, 81 yards, and two touchdowns on 10 targets in context of it was a 50-pass attempt game for Baker Mayfield.
A 20% target share is still really good,
and I think he's going to continue to be
a good short area option for
Baker Mayfield. I would not expect 10
targets, but 6, 7?
I would expect 50 again next week.
You expect 50
again next week? Yeah, I mean, they're not
going to run on the Chiefs, so
it's going to be a lot of Baker probably throwing
as much as... 50, though?
40.
I mean, you know... 40, yeah.
I've got Kyler
throwing five deep balls
to Marvin Harrison on Sunday.
This was the third time this
year that Baker Mayfield had thrown at least four or five
passes, so
he does this.
Good. All right, Heath's winners were were bo nicks who we already talked about
and they call he absolutely great yeah you know that was fun devon achan uh six catches for 50
yards and a touchdown 10 carries for 97 yards imagine if he had gotten a rushing touchdown
mostard got two of those but it really was awesome yeah the bit and the big thing like
the rushing efficiency as we've seen
over the last few weeks maybe kind of is going to come and go but the big thing the first two
games with tua he had seven targets in each game this week to his back he gets eight targets in
this game like he looks like alvin camara and not to shortchange your thoughts on devon hn but that
probably goes into one of Dave's losers,
which is Jalen Waddle.
You always talk about Waddle and Achan
and how they're not usually good at the same time.
No, it's rare.
And he had a bad drop in the game as well.
Had what?
Did he even have 10 PPR points?
Waddle had four catches for 45 yards on six targets.
And I think the other part of it is
a chance part of it. Yes. But we thought, or at least I did kind of thought John who might just
go away with two coming back and John who had the same number of targets as Waddle.
Yep. So that's the thing. So John who is kind of like Cole commit in that his role has grown
since those first two games. So I don't, I don't have it in front of me,
but I'm not saying he's gonna have the same amount of targets as Waddle,
but even in week one,
Waddle only had five targets turned it into 105 yards.
And he's been terrible.
He hasn't even had 10 PPR points since then.
And obviously a lot of that has to do with Tua not playing,
but here's a game where Tua plays.
And I don't think Tua,
did he look very rusty?
Did he look sort of rusty?
I don't even know if he looked that rusty.
Even ran for a first down.
I'm getting very nervous about players who have that upside.
We talk about the upside, and the upside's great, great, great,
and then we never really realize it.
He's at best a number three receiver for me.
Would you guys rather have Jalenlen waddle or amari
cooper amari cooper i thought i think i'll take waddle like he might it would not surprise me at
all if jaylen waddle had six catches for 150 yards next week like and and i'll go back to something
i'll go back to something he said at the beginning of the season tyree kill goes down jaylen waddle's
top 10 receiver yeah Yeah, okay, but
I guess, but do you take
that into consideration when we're asking Waddell
versus Cooper? No, but it's just a factor.
Okay.
Whether you'd rather, like, not on a regular
week-to-week basis, like, who do you want
to start, but on a who do you have rest of the season,
I think you ought to consider it a little bit. Yeah, right.
I mean, there's that hidden upside.
Keon Coleman gets hurt.
DeMar Cooper doesn't really change that much.
Yeah.
Caleb Williams is Dave's other loser.
46% started, 93% rostered. Hold on, hold on.
If we're going to make the upside case for Jalen Waddell,
if something happens to Tyreek Hill,
can we make the downside case of what happens
if Tua misses time again?
Sure.
Or even if Tua doesn't miss time, here's a game
that he's played in
and there's a slew of them from last year.
I think he outscored Amari Cooper, though. Yeah, he did
this week, but I don't think he's going to do that
rest of season. I think Amari Cooper
is going to be just fine. It's a very fair question.
Whoever you think is better, you take that
receiver. Caleb Williams
may as well have been Andy Dalton today.
Scored 9.3 fantasy
points at Washington. We might
now have to really start taking Washington's
defense seriously. Yes.
Okay, Dave, are you going to trust
Not so much Dallas as when they put a linebacker on
Debo Samuel.
Caleb Williams at Arizona next week,
Dave. He's one of your losers. Is he going to
be a top 12 guy for you?
I'm going to have a hard time putting him in the top 12.
And the one thing that I will say is that he did play better in the fourth quarter.
And the whole Bears offense in the first half was extremely flat coming out of the bye.
And that was frustrating more than anything else.
So maybe he got his act together a little bit more in the fourth quarter.
Hopefully, DJ Moore is just fine. I know he left for a little bit more in the fourth quarter. Hopefully DJ Moore is just fine.
I know he left for a little bit in the second half.
He's got to play better.
Commanders were getting in his face and he was making mistakes.
It was a mess.
Never have him throw a corner fade again.
No.
Oh my gosh.
What in the world was that?
It was terrible.
Almost threw it in the stands.
It's such a bad throw.
Does anyone ever catch that?
I did my early quarterback rankings.
I usually try to do that on Sunday.
And he's behind Bo Nix and Jameis Winston.
Who's Jameis have?
Jameis has the Chargers at home.
That's going to be a tough one.
Going into a bye.
It's Jameis, baby jamis baby yeah i love to
see it i'm a fan of his okay uh i know sometimes it can be really ugly but i'm a fan i know well
there's that whole off-field stuff that probably we've forgotten about it's been a long time but
um there anyway uh you're going there well no i mean. I mean, it's like you say you're a fan of Jameis.
I didn't want to leave.
Maybe I shouldn't have said anything.
But I'm not a fan of Jameis Winston.
I'll just say that.
But I know Dave wasn't referring to that.
I'm referring to his game on field.
I wanted to clarify that so you didn't get any heat for it.
That's what I was trying to do there, believe it or not.
Thank you.
Thank you.
I appreciate it.
All right, Heath.
Javante Williams was a loser for you and Amari Cooper.
But Javante Williams, he got 21 touches,
turned it into 52 yards against the Panthers.
That was terrible.
And he gets Baltimore and Kansas City in his next two games.
Yeah, which is just absolutely as bad as it gets.
I'm not dropping Jamison Williams,
but I think it was just probably a lesson
that there's not a matchup that causes Javante Williams
to be a must-start running back.
He is a borderline number two that you start at running back
if you can't do any better, or he's a what-the-heck flex.
It's interesting, though, because why were you so high on Caleb on
Bo Nix in this matchup but not Javante because it's you know if if Javante can't be a must start
on a with a good matchup why can Bo Nix well Bo Nix wasn't a must start he was QB 11 okay that's
not but I I would say I got what I said before the game was that they had the highest implied
total or the third highest implied total,
and Bo Nix has scored eight of their 11 touchdowns this year.
Who do you think will be better rest of the season,
Javante or Travis Etienne?
Javante.
How healthy is Etienne?
What team is Etienne on?
They're not trading Trevor.
Yeah, trading for him.
I mean, I assume ETN will be back soon.
He's practiced both weeks.
I think they're both in that RB 24 to 30 range.
And there's like 12 running backs in that range.
It feels like there's competition for both,
but more competition for ETN at this point. Yeah.
All right, so let's go to Jamie's losers.
Jamie is in the darkness right now.
He's got Brees Hall and Devontae Adams as his losers.
I mean, what a terrible loss for the Jets.
You know, how do you lose that game?
I mean, and Brees Hall and Devontae Adams did not show up
for what we were expecting them to do.
Look, I hope Devontae can start to get on the same page with Aaron Rodgers
and produce like we are expecting him to produce the minute that he came here,
came to the Jets.
But it just doesn't feel like it's going to happen.
And thankfully, Garrett Wilson is continuing to be the guy there.
We'll see if there's a shift at any time soon.
The schedule gets fantastic for the Jets coming up.
So it's not that you're cutting Devontae Adams,
but I don't know how anybody can start him with any confidence
in two receiver leagues right now.
Then for Brees Hall, this was supposed to be a layup.
This was similar to Devontae Williams, but on a much different scale
because everybody's confident in Brees Hall.
We love Brees Hall. We expect him to dominate.
Losing the goal line touchdown to Braylon Allen was annoying, but
really just to not have
a dominant game was
just craptastic.
For what it's worth,
I don't know if anyone's going to care, but
Christian Gonzalez did shadow Devontae
Adams. Garrett Wilson
benefited from that, for sure.
I think I know who he was
matched up against, but I don't want to say it just in case I get the wrong person. I don't want
to embarrass anyone who didn't deserve it. He was crushing the other guy who was covering him.
And that's, you know, that's kind of interesting. I don't know if that's going to happen in a lot
of matchups because not that many teams have cornerbacks that shadow, but the Patriots do.
Anyway, that's, that's what happened in that game.
And Brees Hall, 16 carries for 80 yards, which isn't so bad.
And one catch for nine yards, just didn't have a huge play
and didn't have a touchdown.
But yeah, it was disappointing for sure.
All right.
At least we benched Aaron Rodgers for two quarterbacks
who scored fewer points than him.
Are we going to win?
Let's TBD.
Hope we don't need those four points.
Good thing you cut Caleb Williams.
He sucked.
I know, exactly.
Heath and I disagreed on who to start.
We had Tua, Burrow, and Aaron Rodgers.
Heath wanted us to bench Tua.
I had them ranked Rodgers, Burrow, Tua.
I had them ranked Burrow, Tua, Rodgers.
Right.
And I said, you know what?
Let's let Twitter decide.
And Twitter overwhelmingly chose to bench Aaron Rogers.
So blame the people.
That is the For the People League.
At least it used to be.
Yeah, I'm just not asking next time.
I'm just, while you're asking questions on here,
I'm going to go set our lineup.
Fair enough.
I really hope we don't lose by four points.
All right, we're going to talk about the games in a bit. Some goal line
stuff. Dolphins running backs kind of switched
around the goal line. So did Detroit. So did
Cincinnati's. Chase Brown
did get a goal line touchdown. Zach Moss had a chance.
I think he got a carry from the three yard line. He did not
get in. Seattle.
You know, I don't really
know why Ken Walker didn't play in the fourth
quarter. I think it was I was watching that game. I think
it was just score and they were just running the the you know hurry up offense and charbonnet
was in for the entire possession they got the goal line touchdown there um same thing with the
patriots they had antonio gibson get some goal line work that was in hurry up offense in the
fourth quarter and that's pretty much all i have there. What was your favorite almost touchdown today?
Anything jump out?
It seems like all the touchdowns got scored.
Gervantes.
What was Gervantes?
I don't remember Gervantes.
He got tackled at the one.
I mean, you need to get in there against Carolina to justify what we were hoping he would do.
What's his name?
Anthony Richardson had some bad luck.
He made some good throws near the end zone.
One was dropped.
One was called back to the one yard line.
He had several drops today.
The,
the,
the play that he made to get out Pierce,
the touchdown that was taken away.
Yeah.
It was,
it was great.
Uh,
who else?
Jalen McMillan could have had a huge touchdown,
but Baker Mayfield through the ball.
McMillan like wasn't really looking.
That could have been a huge play.
Uh,
Lamar Jackson, Mrs. A That could have been a huge play.
Lamar Jackson missed Zay Flowers wide open for a deep touchdown,
and then he missed Isaiah Likely,
who was wide open.
Lamar Jackson, from what I saw,
didn't play particularly well,
and he still scored like 28 points
or something.
Yeah.
Kind of 76 points, whatever it was.
First half was pretty bad.
All right, we'll take a break.
When we come back,
we will look at the games.
Yeah, we'll do the top five in each position,
and then we'll get into the games.
We'll be right back on Fantasy Football today.
The top five players at each position at quarterback,
it's Jalen Hurts, Kirk Cousins, Bo Nix,
Matthew Stafford, and Jameis Winston.
Four of those quarterbacks scored 33 or more fantasy points.
Jalen Hurts, Kirk Cousins, Bo Nix,
Matthew Stafford, and Jameis Winston. Jamie,ts, Kirk Cousins, Bo Nix, Matthew Stafford, and Jameis Winston.
Jamie, how about Kirk Cousins?
23 of 29, 276 yards,
and four touchdowns.
What does this mean to you?
And then he's got Dallas next week.
Be a Hall of Famer if he gets to play the Bucs
every week.
Look, he's had some really good moments
this season. Two of them have come against Tampa Bay.
You saw
a couple of big plays to Kyle Pitts. another big play to Darnell Mooney.
Unfortunately, when you get a performance like this, you want Drake London to do more,
but he didn't.
But I think that just shows the diversity of this passing game.
I hope it's a game that he can build off of and continue to play like this.
And the Dallas defense, at least at this point, shouldn't necessarily scare you away from
using Kirk Cousins. So if he's been your starter, you stick with him.
If you have somebody else that you feel is better on your bench or you want to pivot to another
quarterback, I don't think we're going to get consistency from Kirk Cousins like this because
we just haven't seen it. So next week he will be a top 12 quarterback or in the conversation,
but I just don't know what we're going to get on a week-to-week basis from him.
How often is he going to throw three touchdowns of 30-plus yards?
Wow.
That's pretty impressive.
He ran today.
He had a few scrambles.
He did.
He had 16 rushing yards.
Way to go.
Three for 16.
Shout out Stone Cold.
Dallas next week at New Orleans after that.
These aren't tough matchups for him.
I could see him being a decent starter.
I don't want to go gaga over this stat line.
I think it's more of an indictment on Tampa.
51%.
I think that's the percentage I told you, Jamie.
51% of Kirk Cousins' fantasy points this year
in six-point for passing touchdown leagues
came in the two games against Tampa.
Wow. All right, running backs. came in the two games against Tampa. Wow.
All right.
Running backs.
He's the top five running backs.
James Cook, who got, Oh, what?
You okay?
The other thing I want to say, and I'll double check the stat, but Tampa is known for blitzing
a lot.
Like that's a Todd bull staple.
And according to the broadcast, they barely did it in this game.
And I don't know why I can't explain why they didn't do that.
And I think that could be another reason why Kirk cousins had a bunch of touchdowns of 30 plus yards
james cook devon achan josh jacobs joe mixon remandre stevenson there's your top five joe
mixon i think this is his fourth game out of five uh where he scored 22 or more ppr fantasy points
and the only time he didn't he left with an injury j. James Cook, Devon Achan, Josh Jacobs, Joe Mixon,
Ramondre Stevenson.
Heath, there's your top
five running backs.
Yeah, I mean, Mixon is just like
in the conversation for RB1
on a per game basis, I guess.
He just keeps doing it
whenever he's healthy.
He scores a ton of fantasy points.
It was a big sigh of relief for me
because, you know,
I've got a lot of James Cook
and I did not like the trend
last week in terms of the way they were using
all three running backs with both Ray Davis and
Ty Johnson scoring touchdowns.
I think it must have just been the
toe wasn't quite 100%
because at least early in this game for the
first three quarters, it was pretty much all James Cook.
Yeah. There might be a lot of
Joe Mixon moving forward if Tafon Diggs is
missing time.
There's already been a lot of Joe Mixon the last two weeks.
And the top five wide receivers.
Let's talk about Ladd McConkie.
Six targets.
Caught them all.
Catch them all.
He Pokemoned.
One of the greatest catches ever.
Can we call that a Pokemon?
When you catch all your targets?
He caught all his targets?
Yeah.
I'm into that.
Okay.
I don't get it. Got to catch them all. That's All his targets? Yeah. I'm into that. Okay. I don't get it.
Got to catch them all.
That's the Pokemon thing.
Okay.
That's what you're supposed to do.
Okay.
Vlad McConkie is number one.
Cedric Tillman is number two.
Marvin Harrison Jr. is number three.
If you're ever going to play the music,
it should be for the guy that finishes
wide receiver two for the week.
Hey, Michael Pittman
had a catch today.
I'd rather have Cedric Tillman
than Michael Pittman rest of season.
Well, hold on. Who's the Colts
quarterback rest of season?
Oh, that's a good question.
If Flacco's the quarterback,
I'm much more interested in Pittman.
Did something happen to Anthony Richardson?
It's not happening unless Richardson gets hurt.
Yeah, something happened. He completed like 30% of his passes.
They're not benching Anthony Richardson.
I don't think they are either, although
never mind.
What was I going to say?
How many mans
would you rather have over
Michael Pittman? He might be like the worst
man.
No, he's better than Mikko Hardman.
I guess so, yeah. That was the one
that I would get in trouble for doing
the sound for.
But anyway, it's
McConkie.
I've done it before.
McConkie, Tillman,
Marvin Harrison Jr.,
Calvin Ridley, and Josh Downs.
This is actually a very fascinating list, Dave Richard. McConkie, Tillman, Marvin Harrison Jr., Calvin Ridley, and Josh Downs. This is actually a very fascinating list, Dave Richard.
McConkie, Tillman, Harrison Jr.,
Calvin Ridley, Josh Downs. I'm going to ask you
to rank them after Marvin Harrison.
He's obviously number one. Rest of season,
McConkie, Tillman, Ridley, Josh Downs.
I'll take
McConkie next.
And then
I don't
know, man. I really want to go back and see how Cedric Tillman put it all together.
Cause if he's going to keep getting targets like this and Jameis is going to be the quarterback, that could be a lot of fun.
Downs got really lucky on his 69 yard touchdown.
Um, two Texans defenders crashed into each other in the middle of the field and Downs was wide open. No one was near him.
But he also had six points taken away on a reversed touchdown.
He was down. No, it was a deep throw.
It was called a touchdown and then they reversed it.
I thought that was a throw, not a run. It was.
Listen, he's doing great and I know that he's the, not a run. It was. Okay. So that was close. Listen, he's doing great.
And I know that he's the one like I would pick downs over Pittman for
however long that Richardson's the quarterback and maybe even when
Flacco is the quarterback, but Harrison McConkie.
Downs Tillman Ridley.
Ridley that low.
Yeah.
I'm not ready to trust this.
All right.
It's three straight.
15 targets.
I mean, he had a great game.
He had a great half.
I'm not ready to trust him.
Three straight games with nine or more targets, I think, for Ridley.
Obviously, he's garbage.
And some of them were really terrible.
Yeah.
All right.
Let's get into the games.
Start with Atlanta 31, Tampa Bay 26.
You had Rashad White
and Bucky Irving,
both with solid games here.
Rashad White,
six carries,
five catches,
but he had five catches,
38 yards and a touchdown.
Bucky Irving,
nine carries,
seven catches,
but he had 84 total yards
and those seven catches.
So these guys were good.
Rashad White played 12 snaps
on third down.
No other running back
played a third down snap. But that's, I think, an interesting place to start, Jamie. Rashad White played 12 snaps on third down. No other running back played a third down snap.
But that's, I think, an interesting place to start, Jamie. Rashad White,
Bucky Irving. We didn't see a lot of Sean Tucker today, just three touches.
But how do you evaluate these guys going forward? Six carries for one of them,
seven carries for the other, but they did everything in the passing game.
I think that's going to be the norm, you know, at least until Evans returns.
Why would they not lean on their best players if that's what they're going to
try and do to win games, which is that's their goal.
So I, and, and, you know,
I said this going into the week that I want to see what McMillan does.
I want to see what Shepard does.
You know, Jarrett was a little bit of a surprise,
but to, to, to expect them to lean on their best players and their best
players are Kate Otten and Rashad White and Bucky Irving with the injuries. bit of a surprise, but to, to, to expect them to lean on their best players and their best players
are Kate Otten and Rashad White and Bucky Irving with the injuries. So is it going to be consistent
like this for these guys in the passing game? Probably not, but I could see three to four plus
catches for each of them moving forward. And so they're both going to be in the, in the flex
conversation at, at running back most weeks. And then, you know, if one starts to separate,
then you consider him a starter.
So I still give a slight nod to White because I think he'll have more chances
in the passing game.
I don't know how many routes were run by each guy.
So that'll be interesting to see once we get through the week.
But sure, there's opportunities here for both these guys to be playmakers.
What do you think about Jalen McMillan, 73% roster?
Should we give him another week?
He had seven targets.
Or do you think he's cuttable?
He had four catches on seven targets for 35 yards.
Is he cuttable?
Yes.
He's not necessarily a must-roster, must-start type of player
because he didn't do that.
Tillman goes out and does that last week,
and then he comes back and follows up this week.
Now he should be 100% rostered and potentially started.
McMillan, I think it just depends on what your team looks like.
And let's see how everything shakes out between the Sunday night game.
And let's see what somebody like Ricky Pearsall does,
what Jalen Tolbert does in this game.
What happens Monday night, you know, with Wondell Robinson still,
for example, you know, he's somebody that you can see getting cut
for some of these guys also.
So, no, he's not a must start, must roster guy,
but you don't have to cut him.
McMillan had the most routes per dropback, 92%.
He ran the most routes.
I guess that's an easier way to say that, 46 routes.
White ran more routes than Bucky Irving, 27 to 16.
And White had almost all the high-value touches too,
four or five snaps inside the 10.
All the third down work played 56% of the snaps.
I agree.
I think Rashad White is the better running back right now in Tampa.
I don't know.
There's much to say about the Falcons.
Kyle Pitts continues to be a must start.
I think it was very weird that Drake London had such a nothing game.
Considering Kirk Cousins is one of the best quarterbacks in fantasy.
Drake London with four catches for 34 yards on six targets.
Well,
well,
because he had a bunch of big plays,
right?
If,
if I told you that there were three 30 plus yard touchdowns for Atlanta,
how many would you guess Drake London would have won?
But he didn't.
He usually has like the seven yard touchdowns.
Yeah,
that's fine.
I mean,
I think my point is like,
we don't care,
right?
We're going to go right back to,
we're still going to start Drake London. Great players have bad games from time to time. Yeah, it's fine. I mean, I think my point is like we don't care, right? We're going to go right back to we're still going to start drinking London
players have bad games from time to time. It
does happen. Obviously, Tampa
blitzed at the lowest rate of
any game this season. I don't get
it, man. You got to you got to make the cousins
uncomfortable. The guy can't move. All right. Arizona
28 Miami 27
and Kyler Murray
26.2 fantasy points. He was started
in 63% of leagues to a not so good. I mean, like the thing to it didn2 fantasy points. He was started in 63% of leagues.
Tua, not so good.
I mean, like the thing, Tua didn't play poorly.
He just kept handing it off to Mostert
and he ended up with 16.7 fantasy points
and he was started in 26% of leagues.
Heath, any big takeaways from this game?
I mean, we already talked about A-Chan and Waddle,
so I think it has to be on the Arizona side.
It was nice to see Kyler perform
against what had been a
difficult matchup. I think the answer we
probably have is that Miami's not
a must-stay-away.
Yeah. Also,
it's nice to see what happens when he throws 36 passes.
You know,
was that a season high? I think
it was.
Might have been. Yeah, it was a season high.
It's easily the best game for McBride and Harrison at the same time.
Yeah.
Okay, and then I really think this game's pretty.
We talked about Waddle.
Tyreek Hill was a little disappointing,
but six catches for 72 yards, whatever.
And we're good.
Let's go to Cleveland and Baltimore.
Cleveland 29, Baltimore 24.
See you later, Jamie.
Justice Hill had more snaps than Derrick Henry.
They were playing from behind a lot of the game.
10 of 10 on third down, but King Henry is inevitable.
Short yardage touchdown on top of the minimal rushing yards.
I think if you went up
against derrick henry this week you were pretty happy with the result absolutely honestly if i
went up against lamar jackson he scored 28 points i'm happy about that yeah i'm less happy about
that than i am derrick henry having 14 cpr points i didn't say that but yeah i'm not happy about
going up against Dave Flowers.
Hey, what about Mark Andrews?
Is this three straight games with a touchdown?
So yes, it's four touchdowns in his last three games,
and he has had four to five targets in four straight games,
and he's come through every time.
And his worst game in that stretch was four for 55.
It wasn't his worst game in terms of yards,
but he had the touchdowns in the other games.
Basically, you give the guy five targets, he's pretty productive. Yeah, he's
breaking the rule of six targets for a tight end. But I'm glad he's back
on the fantasy radar, and I think everybody's starting Andrews as at least
a low-end tight end one. Yeah, it's interesting to think about
him, like if you picked up Kate Otten, or
if you drafted Andrews and Brockck bowers or like there's
definitely some guys that you might still just not be starting or david nojoku got dropped and
you picked him back up yeah like there's there's some guys you're starting over him if you're
struggling a tight end is otten the guy to trade for i don't think you should expect to pay that
much for him but someone who's gonna get a lot of targets each week it looks like.
I picked up Otten in a league last week and I traded Mark Andrews.
Right, but I'm saying if you've got
a tight end, who would
you expect to give up less for?
Otten or Andrews?
Otten.
And I might rather have Otten
than Andrews the rest of the season.
Rashad, do you think you can start with one catch?
Yeah, Bo Bateman dropped a deep ball.
It was exactly what he does.
He makes one big splash play.
He lost it in the sun, and he dropped it.
And like I said about Bateman, he's going to have these bad games,
but this could have been a 50-plus yard game.
But Nick Chubb, you know, Nick Chubb got almost every carry.
Foreman had five.
Chubb had 16.
He had two targets and it was a terrible matchup, but obviously it's going to get easier.
And there's another terrible matchup next week.
And then a bug.
Are they terrible?
The chargers as a matchup?
I don't think they are.
I don't think it's a good matchup.
I wouldn't call it a good matchup, but I, you know, but can you, can you buy low on Nick Chubb?
Or do you think everybody's sort of expecting him to have a big second half? Are you expecting it? I think you you buy low on Nick Chubb? Or do you think everybody's sort of expecting him to have a big second
half?
Are you expecting it?
I think you can buy low on Nick Chubb.
He's got the Steelers in week 12,
the Broncos in week 13,
the Steelers in week 14,
the chiefs in week 15.
That's bad.
It's a rough stretch.
All right.
Moving on.
Well,
actually,
honestly,
we talk about Tillman.
Elijah Moore had eight for 85.
Jerry Judy had five for 79.
It's going to be an interesting waiver wire week.
It's the Browns passing game, one that we're buying into.
I think they're going to continue to throw a lot.
They were kind of scared to throw with Deshaun Watson for a few weeks.
And when there are tough matchups for Nick Chubb, I don't think Kevin Stefanski will have any reservations whatsoever about
letting Jameis throw.
I would point you to Jameis' last two throws of the game.
However,
his second to last throw was directly to Kyle Hamilton who dropped the
interception.
And then the very next play was the 38-yard touchdown to Cedric Tillman.
So that's the Jameis experience.
There's good and there's bad, and they can come one right after the other.
And there could almost certainly be a game down the line
where none of the receivers do anything amazing for fantasy purposes.
All right, Green Bay 30 and Jacksonville 27.
I know that it's going to be a huge downgrade for all of them if malik willis is starting for any extended period of time but what about josh jacobs uh i forgot to put in the notes his two
games i will look it up two games with malik willis but what do you think about him? I'm starting Josh Jacobs, no matter who the quarterback
is. And I'm preparing to find a replacement for any other Packer that I was planning on starting
next week. I might start two Browns wide receivers over any Packers wide receiver.
How do you feel about starting Jacobs against Detroit next week with Malik Willis as the quarterback?
I'm starting him.
Here's the one thing I'd push back on, though.
He had one target in two games with Malik Willis,
and he did have a 32-carry game, but he also had a 14-carry game.
So he's just not almost certainly going to be much less involved in the passing game.
Obviously, there are going to be fewer pass attempts.
It's going to be much less of a passing game.
He's not a top 12 running back.
He's probably not a top eight,
15 or 18 running back,
but he's not falling for me into the Javante Williams,
tank Bigsby,
Rashad white,
whatever.
No,
no.
So he's a start.
Okay.
But what I'll point to is against Indy,
that was a favorable matchup at the time.
He averaged 4.7 yards per carry at 32 carries.
It's the type of game that we dream of.
Next week, he was at Tennessee.
Titans run defense is tough, totally inefficient,
3.1 yards per carry, only 14 carries.
Those were the two games with Malik Willis.
I'm a little scared that next week against Detroit
could be like that Tennessee game.
Okay, and then on the
other side of the ball, Trevor Lawrence is
actually playing pretty well right now.
Well, I mean, look, he had two turnovers,
so it really hurt his team,
but for fantasy purposes...
Three total touchdowns is nothing to sneeze at. Heath,
I think you nailed Trevor Lawrence
in your rankings as
well. You know, it was a good week at quarterback. But yeah, I think the problem is it's almost the
exact opposite. Like, can we put these two teams together, please? We could have Trevor Lawrence
and the Packers wide receivers moving forward. I'd be pretty excited about this whole group,
but if it's Trevor Lawrence without any wide receivers,
then you can't get too excited.
And then the weird thing about this game, and I saw quite a bit of it, but I didn't notice this.
Brenton Strange had more catches and yards than Evan Ingram?
Yeah.
I think a lot of it came at the end.
Ingram's touchdown came at the end.
That was their last.
That was a great catch by Ingram.
That was one of his four catches in the game.
So what if we put Malik Willis with the Jaguars?
Yes.
Yeah, that would be.
And then who would be streaming the defense next week?
All right.
Houston 23, Indianapolis 20.
Where are you guys on Tank Dell?
Brent Strange had almost all of his numbers in the fourth quarter.
Where am I with Tank Dell?
And CJ Stroud, for that matter.
15.4 fantasy points for CJ Stroud.
I'm ready to find somebody else for CJ Stroud for at least a week. And I'm,
I kind of like tank Dell is at least the top 30 receiver.
Cause I think the volume is going to be turned way up.
Who else is going to catch passes?
It's Robert Woods.
It's it's a John Mechie.
It's the two tight ends that they have.
What,
what seemed to really work for Stroud today was getting rid of the ball
quickly,
obviously to try and negate the pass rush when he did it.
And then he leaned on the tight ends in the first half,
and I'm surprised they really got away from that in the second half.
I just think this is a terrible spot to emerge as the number one option
for a guy that's really struggled to be as good as he was last year.
You're going to all of a sudden get all of the defensive attention when
you're playing the jets.
So I,
it probably a top 30 wide receiver,
but I,
I would have thought if you had told me we're going to have a week with no
Nico and a week with no digs,
like tank Dell's top 12.
And that's not going to be the situation.
Yeah. And, but but i think you know
he might have he might have the rest of the season without stefan diggs it's possible so
yeah it did not look good it looked non-contact right it was non-contact so i don't know we'll
see what happens but it's funny i feel like i'm going to keep starting him until he just lets me
down so many times but he does get end zone targets I want to say it's three weeks in a row because he dropped one
last week and he caught one this week. He did. Both of them were inside the 10 last week was a
gross one. And then this week it was right after a Colts turnover. So it was first and goal on the
seven and Stroud hit him for a touchdown. It was a nice play. Let me tell you something here.
This is something that I sort of noticed and now I have the stats to back it up. I feel like
Anthony Richardson is deferring to Jonathan Taylor near the goal line very frequently.
And so I'm looking at it now when Anthony Richardson's been on the field their carries from inside the five yard line 10 for taylor
and four for richardson and taylor has four touchdowns inside the three yard line it's
jonathan taylor seven anthony richardson two carries haven't like most of anthony richardson's
injuries happened inside the 10 yard line like going towards the goal line? Not sure.
The one last year was at the goal line, right?
First week, yeah.
And then this year it was at least in the red zone.
I don't know.
But if that goes away for Jonathan Taylor,
if that becomes more Richardson,
he's been sort of, I don't want to say lucky,
but a little lucky, right? He's made 100 yards rushing today.
I know, but he doesn't really catch the ball
when Richardson's playing.
And so he needs those touchdowns to be great.
I think that the other way to look at it is
this is the explanation for why Anthony Richardson's
been so completely awful for fantasy purposes
because he's not doing that.
And I don't know. I don't know that there's much to. And I don't know.
I don't know that there's much to it.
I don't want to put you guys in a tough spot
because I don't know that there's much analysis to give there,
but I did think it was something worth pointing out, that trend.
No, I think this is what the Colts want,
is to lean on Taylor near the goal line
so that their quarterback doesn't get hurt.
That's possible.
So I think Heath's right.
You've got to factor that in,
that Anthony Richardson's rushing upside isn't anywhere near as big
as we thought it would be.
All right.
New England 25 and the Jets 22.
And Spire Cell, you should sell high on Garrett Wilson.
No.
Sell. No, sell. I don't know if anybody's going to I don't know if anybody's buying
I don't know if anybody's buying any jet
other than
Brees Hall
right now
is Garrett Wilson clearly ahead of
Amari Cooper and or Jalen Waddle for you
guys rest of season?
Like my expectation.
I think we were all pretty close on this.
We had Garrett Wilson somewhere between like 18 and 22,
18 and 24 rest of season.
When that signing happened,
you can only feel better about him than we did when the trade happened.
Oh,
from two weeks ago.
Yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Like it can't be worse.
No Hunter Henry,
59% rostered.
Yeah.
Obviously we were hoping for Drake bank,
but you know,
is,
is he worth hanging on to Hunter Henry?
Yeah.
Okay, let's go to the next game then.
Philadelphia 37, Cincinnati 17, Jalen Hurts, huge game.
I think, you know, another thing worth pointing out,
Saquon Barkley has, I want to say,
eight targets in four games with A.J. Brown,
and he has scored 13.6 or fewer fantasy points
in three of his last four games.
So if you were someone like Heath
who was worried about Barkley
because Jalen Hurts doesn't throw to his running backs
and Jalen Hurts steals a whole bunch of goal line touchdowns,
this is kind of what it looks like right now.
It's three disappointing games in his last four, Heath.
Yeah, it's kind of like the Malik Neighbors thing.
I saw somebody tweet about Malik Neighbors.
I think it was Sigmund Blum.
If you thought that Malik Neighbors could overcome Daniel Jones, you were right. If you thought Daniel Jones was going to hold back Malik neighbors, you were right. We've just seen both of those things early in the year. I still mostly think Barkley is going to be fine as a top eight running back, but you probably would feel pretty good if you'd sold high after the first couple weeks.
Maybe.
And the problem is that if you try and go to the Barkley manager
in your league and say,
hey, this guy hasn't been well three or less four games,
they're going to tell you to kick rocks.
He's still one of the easiest starts in fantasy at running back.
And how do you feel about Dev or Devante Smith or Garrett Wilson?
Rest of season Smith with a 45 yard touchdown,
cat six,
six for 85 and a touchdown in this game.
I'm kind of,
well,
not interested in jets players right now.
I'll go Wilson too.
All right.
Two,
two to one Wilson and chase Brown brown 12 carries 32 yards and a
touchdown two catches for two yards i think he's pretty much that's exactly what you were expecting
that's like low end running back two or flex right yep yeah maybe my crazy or is this like
the third week in a row i'll double check this come back to me in a minute. It feels like he's, we were, go ahead,
Dave.
We were,
we were talking about somebody who we were not like Josh Jacobs.
He's definitely still a start and he didn't fall into that.
Javante Williams and others range.
Chase Brown might be the bridge between those two things.
Yeah.
Okay.
He,
he did not.
Zach Moss played more snaps. I think game script had something to do
this is with joe burrow on the field because they eventually pulled burrow but with burrow moss 55
percent of the snaps obviously almost all the third down snaps two of three snaps inside the five
and it wasn't in the two minute offense so that made me a little bit nervous i was going to say
i think this is the third week in a row where Philadelphia has been really good against the run.
That's true, but they've played against the Bengals, Giants,
and Browns before Nick Chubb got there.
Detroit 52, Tennessee 14,
and nobody seemed too impressed with Calvin Ridley's,
well, I don't know that everybody got a chance to speak,
but 10 catches for 143 yards on 15 targets.
It's not to say that it's not impressive.
It's can it last?
Okay.
This was his first game without Deandre Hopkins.
And this can't last,
but could he be a 70 yard guy?
It's not meaningless at all because this is someone who has extreme pedigree and has shown us flashes of elite play
as recently as last year for at times and then just showed it again and so with it still exists
at least i think you can put calvin ridley in that and i had a terrible game today very
disappointing tyler lockett i think you can put him into that Tyler Lockett group of, you know,
the second you count him out, he's probably going to score some fantasy points.
And the second you put him in your starting lineup,
he's probably going to upset you.
But he should be – there was plenty of talk about dropping Calvin Ridley.
I don't think you should do that.
And during the bye weeks, you might need to start him.
He had an 11.1 yard a dot.
That's a three week low for him.
Good.
Yeah.
I mean,
that's a step in the right direction.
And obviously 15 targets is insane.
Thank you for bringing that up.
It's been eight plus three straight weeks.
Now his ADOT was insane.
It was like 17 yards or something like that.
Right.
So that cut down a little bit and that's a good thing.
Can't be successful like that.
That's ridiculous.
And then last question on this game.
If we were drafting again today,
would Amon Ross St. Brown be a first-round pick?
Probably not.
Man, I hesitate, because last week I had him ranked outside the top 12,
and he finished as the number one wide receiver.
But that's the reason why was this game because it's
just been a really low volume season from jared goff um but this was just a weird game too so i
don't know how much to make of it it reminded me of that guy on the chiefs in the 70s who had those
two games where he threw for three touchdowns mike livingston yeah Chargers 26. Right. Yep. Yep. Yeah.
26-8.
Chargers over the Saints.
Strange.
I wonder if that was a score-a-gami.
And Spencer Rattler got pulled for Jake Hainer.
Score-a-gami is what they call it when we had a final score.
That's what I wanted to look up.
Final score that we've never had before.
Yeah.
Nice game from Kamara with the six catches.
Obviously, always going to be better in PPR.
Chris Olavi came through with a hundred yards.
I don't really have much to say about the saints because hopefully they'll get Derek
Carr back.
How much, how confident are we, Jamie?
Welcome back, by the way.
Welcome back.
And JK Dobbins, who's just not running the ball super efficiently lately, but he did
score a touchdown and have four catches today.
I think given the landscape of what fantasy running backs have been and will
continue to be,
if he stays healthy,
it's hard to say he's anything short of a number two running back at worst.
Um,
we're still top 10 upside.
No,
I mean,
look,
this,
this is still,
I think a run based offense.
I know Herbert has played much better of late,
multiple touchdowns today,
300 yards last week.
You know,
will he start to get a little bit more freedom to throw the ball?
I don't know if that's something Jim Harbaugh and Greg Roman want,
but in terms of what Dobbins has been,
until Kamani Vidal emerges as a legitimate threat or maybe Gus Edwards comes back and can be that guy,
how would you not be starting J.K. Dobbins week to week?
I'm just steaming mad i know why dave knows why what happened ezekiel elliott
is replacing rico dowdle tonight and i have rico dowdle in one of our leagues
for some reason that league is set up that you can't make any ad drops after the first game
starts so i was unable to pick up Ezekiel Elliott and start him.
And I'm losing to somebody that's on this show,
who's also the commissioner of that league.
Oh,
wow.
Jamie,
Jamie switched that.
Jamie switched that when he saw the,
he probably switched it right after he picked up.
Um,
yeah.
Which league is this?
Super flex.
Congratulations on your win.
Oh man.
Would you,
so would you have won if you had picked up the game?
No, probably not.
Deebo will probably score some more points.
I think I would be ahead right now.
That's funny.
All right, so that's it for this game here,
and we'll talk a lot about McConkie, I guess, on Tuesday,
even though he's 71% roster.
He's probably available in 10 team leagues,
maybe ESPN Yahoo leagues.
Buffalo 31, Seattle 10.
Buffalo had the ball for over 38 minutes in this game.
It was just a...
News on Christian Kirk, by the way.
Yeah, broken collarbone for Christian Kirk.
So I don't know if that's a season ender,
but it's going to be...
Oh, he will miss the rest of the season.
That sucks.
Okay.
Yeah, we talked about James Cook.
We talked about Amari Cooper.
Dalton Kincaid had a nice game.
Anything stand out to you on the other side of the ball
for the Seahawks, Dave?
No.
Okay, yeah, honestly, we don't have to force it.
Jackson was good.
What'd you say?
Chino sucked.
Chino was not great.
Yeah, and Ken Walker sucked too.
And Ken Walker recovered a bad snap,
made a great play,
kept the ball for his team,
scramble for like eight yards.
And it counted that counted as a negative run,
right?
Like 19 yard loss or something.
I don't see that in the stat book.
Oh no,
no.
Okay.
I thought it was,
um,
and then JSN six for 69 on seven targets.
He led the team in receiving.
Denver 28, Carolina 14.
So we've talked about the Broncos.
But how about Cortland Sutton?
Eight catches for 100 yards after a zero target game last week.
The Broncos are hilarious.
He gets the Ravens next week.
Yeah. Start him?
Yes.
Yes.
Alright.
Do you think Chuba Hubbard
is going to be a top
24 running back rest of season?
Not with Bryce Young.
I would say no.
But what if it's Dalton?
Then yes. But that just factors in Jonathan Brooks I would say no. But what if it's Dalton? Then yes.
But that just factors in Jonathan Brooks, yes or no.
We don't really know what's going to happen.
How about Jalen Coker?
Nice touchdown late, sure.
Did you start him?
I did.
You did?
No, you didn't.
No, I picked him up in the Scott Fish fishbowl oh wow i had a couple entries
four catches 78 yards and a touchdown for jaylen coker second game this year with 10 ppr fantasy
points if deontay johnson gets traded oh yeah it'll be feeling leigh yet and coker
i mean attorneys at law washington 18 chicago 15 drop or hold caleb williams
oh of course you're asking this after you dropped caleb williams however many weeks ago it was
you're holding out to be a league but it'd be crazy to do that in a super flex completely
agree i would hold him on the team no no so so get wait the the whole history of the
transactions you drop caleb williams for tank bisbee drop dalton for who who do we drop him for
just it just happened it was uh you, right? You dropped him for someone.
It seems like it.
Yeah.
Go ahead.
Maybe who?
No, we had Jacoby Myers.
The award winning podcast for best sports podcast.
Yeah.
No idea.
We'll figure it out.
You only have two quarterbacks.
Oh, we know we have three.
Um, we had Aaron Rogers.
Oh, that's Joe Burrow.
We picked up Aaron Rogers.
Okay. So I see. Aren't you happier that we have Aaron Rodgers
on our bench this week instead of Caleb Williams
okay anyway
what do you think about DJ Moore
he only had four targets
I know he did miss a little bit of time he came back in
but Keenan Allen had seven targets
Roma Dunze had six targets DJ Moore had four
how does DJ Moore compare to Amari Cooper and Jalen Waddle?
I would say more.
Yeah.
I'd rather have Cooper than DJ Moore.
He's closer to Waddle than to Cooper for me.
I think he's a borderline number two wide receiver.
How many receivers can fit on that border?
A lot.
Yeah, there's going to be a ton of them.
Last game is Kansas City 27.
That's a bad joke that I'm not going to say.
Kansas City 27, Las Vegas 20.
And do you think Kareem Hunt is going to keep his job?
No, not when Pacheco's back, but before Pacheco's back.
Or do you think they're going to start mixing in someone else?
Who else do they have to mix in?
He is awful.
21 carries for 59 yards and a touchdown.
He just get ball, run into defender, hope to score.
He doesn't have any passing game that the defense has to respect.
They're just stacking the box against him.
All right.
You know what?
Fine.
Let's just say he's going to be fine.
You're going to keep starting up.
He's going to keep scoring every week.
Deandre Hopkins or Xavier worthy rest of season.
The stats today,
Hopkins,
two catches for 29 yards on three targets worthy,
four catches,
37 yards and a touchdown on eight targets.
Who do you like better?
I would take Hopkins.
I thought worthy score that till worthy score that touchdown.
He had a terrible day.
I mean,
he did not that,
you know,
Deandre.
It's so surprising that the 30 year old Amari Cooper,
the 31 year old Devante Adams and the 32 year old Deandre Hopkins are not
producing consistently with their new teams.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's a fair point.
Deandre only ran around 34% of the snaps.
Okay.
So not the type of game that we would expect from him.
He will get better.
He obviously will get better as he gets more used to the offense.
And the one thing that you want to see with Hopkins,
which I don't know how much of a factor it is,
like if Juju's back,
what
is his upside?
Touchdowns?
This could be wrong,
but I think he has more left than
Juju. I think if Juju
comes back, he's behind Hopkins
in the pecking order.
I would hope so.
I have a ton left.
But like, okay.
I think we all probably
would be in agreement
with this.
If you have Hopkins
or picked up Hopkins
because he was dropped,
you're dropping him
for Tillman
in a heartbeat.
I hope that there's
somebody else I can drop,
but, yeah,
I'd rather have Tillman.
Okay, what was
the snap count
for Hopkins?
Because that will factor in here. I'm not
going to give up on it. Overall snaps that he played,
he played 22 snaps.
Okay, so that's nothing. And they
played something like close to 60
snaps. I can double check. There were multiple times where he was
basically a deke. Like, he came into the game and they ran a
pass play and Mahomes did not look to his side
of the field. Like, he just came in to go run a route
over there. Alright, so then I don't know.
68 snaps and he played 22
out. His first game,
not a lot of practice time. We know this is a
complicated offense, even for a veteran like him.
Look, you don't want to give up on him,
but if there are better options out there,
you're dropping him.
Jacoby Myers or DeAndre Hopkins,
rest of season.
Yes. Nice game from Alexander Madison. 14 carries for 15 you're dropping him. Jacoby Myers or DeAndre Hopkins, rest of season? Yeah.
Yes.
Yeah.
Nice game from Alexander Madison, 14 carries for 15 yards
and five catches for 29 yards.
The Chiefs' run defense is no joke.
That goal line stand was insane.
Right.
Madison got some chances near the goal line,
and they just turned him away.
All right, that is it for this game and this show
and this evening.
We will talk to you tomorrow on Beyond the Box Score. Thanks a lot, everybody. Have a good one. All right, that is it for this game and this show and this evening.
We will talk to you tomorrow on Beyond the Box Score.
Thanks a lot, everybody.
Have a good one.
