Welcome to the AAA podcast, the Angry Adam Azer Show.
I'm Jamie Eisenberg, and joining me now is the angriest Giants fan.
AAA, the Eagles are going to need AAA because Doug Peterson is going to fire their bus driver on the way home
because he did too good of a job getting them in the stadium.
How do you feel, Adam? You just watched the Eagles lose to the Washington football team.
I'm not even going to say the Washington football team won.
They do win the NFC East to get into the playoffs as the four seed,
but we know how this game unfolded.
Eagles had a chance to win.
Pathetic.
Jalen Hurts.
Pathetic.
Nate Sudfeld.
And they probably drove to the stadium because it was a home game,
so that joke didn't work.
It was pathetic, Jamie.
It was embarrassing.
And everyone agrees, except for Eagles fans who
were like, hell yeah, man. I'm glad we got the sixth pick instead of the ninth pick.
But this was bad for football. You just don't see this. And this was different than what the
Chiefs did. And it was different than what the Steelers did. And it was different than what the
Bills did. And it was different than what the Eagles said they were going to do, which is maybe
play Nate Sudfeld if the situation was right.
And you know what?
They evaluated Nate Sudfeld, and they evaluated him,
but the first second he stepped on the field,
and he just wasn't good enough.
And he was, what was he doing?
What was he doing?
And Al Michaels is angrier than I am.
This guy was really pissed off.
And you could tell he was just making fun of Nate Sudfeld, basically.
This was disgraceful. Do whatever youfeld, basically. This was disgraceful.
Do whatever you want, man.
Do whatever you want.
It's your franchise.
But that was ridiculous.
And the players are probably furious about it.
They just quit.
Doug Peterson or whoever made that decision,
whether it was Peterson himself or whether it was the front office,
they just quit on the players.
And they threw the game.
They threw the game.
They, honest to God, threw the game.
I mean, they had a really good chance to win. It was a three- the game. They threw the game. They, honest to God, threw the game. I mean, they had a really good chance to win.
It was a three-point game.
And, you know, Hurst, was he lighting it up?
No, but he was doing enough.
He scored their touchdowns.
This is, they threw the game.
They threw the game.
It's absurd.
It's just absurd.
They threw the game.
Drop a niff, Bob.
No, I'm not doing,
I don't have time to edit that.
So, I just, they threw the game. No, I'm not doing... I don't have time to edit that. So I just...
He threw the game.
Like, what are you doing?
What are you doing?
And I feel supported in this
because on Twitter,
like everyone with a brain...
That's an exaggeration.
But most people were agreeing.
And most people were like,
this was not done to
win okay maybe i'm taking it a little too far and saying they threw the game but they did not care
about winning this game if they had they would have kept jalen hurts in there it was it was
embarrassing this to troll the giants no i think more like if they were doing it for some reason
like that it was probably to get Ron Rivera in the playoffs,
which would be a very nice thing to do.
But still, that's not football.
Like, I'm happy for Ron.
I'm happy as hell for Ron Rivera and for Alex Smith.
I am.
I have zero against them.
But that's just not football.
That's not the way football is played.
So let me address a few things.
One, the Giants are 6-10.
The Washington's 7-9.
And the Giants beat them twice.
Stupid argument. Don't bring them twice. Stupid argument.
Don't bring it up.
Stupid argument.
Okay?
Two, how is this any different than what the Bills and the Chiefs and the Steelers did?
They didn't want their guys to get hurt.
This had nothing to do with them protecting Jalen Hurts from getting hurt.
Nothing to do with it.
And it's extremely different because those teams are resting guys for playoff spots.
Okay?
For playoff games.
Did the 49ers rest George Kittle?
Did the Broncos and the Raiders try as hard as they could to win a meaningless game?
Did the Chargers bench Justin Herbert?
No, you don't do that.
And you're talking about evaluating Nate Sudfeld.
Don't you think it's more important to
evaluate Jalen Hurts and every snap he takes, especially against a really good defense in a
close game in the fourth quarter? That's something you'd want to see, isn't it? This was a really,
really non-competitive, really bad for football decision.
And wow, I'm obviously upset as a Giants fan,
but mad as a football fan.
I want you to take me through the emotions of the game
as it's unfolding,
because the Eagles were very much in this game.
Their defense played better, I think,
than a lot of people expected,
knowing what the injuries were.
And Washington was basically doing everything they could to give the game away.
So you tweeted at the time. I want to see if I get the tweet correct here. You tweeted something to effect about I'm tired of people saying that the Eagles are trying to lose this
game. Yes. And right about that time, you heard Nate Sudfeld's warming up. Yeah, that was weird.
When you saw Nate Sudfeld come into the game, your first reaction was?
They're trying to lose the game.
I thought he would come in for one series after his first series, which was so bad.
My reaction was, OMG, they're trying to lose the game.
I've never seen this.
I'm sure I have.
I just don't remember.
But I've never seen it in a spotlight like this,
you know, and they don't want to win. I mean, either, either to say they don't want to win,
like they were trying to lose. They threw the game. And, you know, I said that it's more like
they didn't prioritize winning. If they did, they obviously would have left Jalen Hurtson.
It's just not my, my, my emotions were so okay. I was hopeful. I thought they had a good chance
to win before the
game started they get down 10 nothing i was like they're horrible like they're beat up they
obviously you know washington's much better whatever i'm not gonna get that invested they
come back they take the lead you know i'm pretty invested at this point and they definitely could
have won the game they definitely could have won the game And they didn't want to. That's not what they cared about. Alright, so then
you see Sudfeld start to
turn the ball over, make mistakes,
look like
a third string quarterback.
But then Alex Smith starts to turn the ball over. But are you
still hopeful at that point? No, not until there was that
fumble late in the
game that Washington recovered.
And I was like, you don't even want to know it.
Oh, you do want to know what I said,
but I can't say it.
But it was, you know, pick it up.
Let's say it, but bleep yourself out.
No, it was so vile what I said.
It was great.
What I said was-
We need the vile.
Give us the vile.
No, Jamie, I can't do that.
It's fireable.
I can't like even-
All right, so let's replace the vile words
with sandwich.
So tell us what you said
using the word sandwich. Oh, pick it vile words with sandwich. So tell us what you said using the word sandwich.
Oh, pick it up, you sandwich sandwich.
Something like that.
I don't know.
What kind of sandwich is it?
As really, I just, I feel, I feel,
at least I feel better knowing that almost everyone agrees and the people who don't
agree I think have the wrong argument if the argument is like yeah of course go lose we want
the sixth pick like I don't think teams should ever do that but fine but if the argument was
like this is no different than what the Steelers and the Chiefs and the Bills did it absolutely is
it is very that's that's obvious because there's playoff implications
involved there.
But if Doug Peterson knows he's coming back,
why not try to get a better draft pick?
I mean, it's just like if Kyle Shanahan knew
he's coming back, you know, they played to win.
That's just what you do.
You go out there and you try to win.
And the ironic part is like the Giants did that last year.
They beat Washington in a meaningless game late in the year.
They could have tanked that game and gotten Chase Young,
and they didn't.
They went out and won because that's what franchises are supposed to do.
They're supposed to try to win.
You go out there, you play football, you're supposed to try to win.
It's just, that was just wrong.
Adam Herm Edwards.
What do you think? I think it was just fun. Adam Herm Edwards. What do you think?
I think it was just fun watching you implode.
I'm sure it was fun.
I stopped paying attention and just started watching your tweets.
You can't do that.
You can't do that.
It's not competitive.
It's against sports.
It's against what sports should be.
And there are other teams that do that stuff.
That's the NBA.
That's what people hate about the NBA.
You know, if teams did what Doug Peterson did tonight
and what the Eagles did tonight,
we'd have a lottery system
because you'd have so many teams tanking
and not trying to win games.
No, that's just, that's my two sandwich sets.
Nick Costas does a great job.
He's more fired up than I am.
Platforms.
Had a great tweet.
He's a Giants fan also.
He said, I feel like the game is going to end
and Doug Peterson is going to take off his mask
and get a lot from New York.
It's Saturday night.
Yeah, that was a brilliant tweet.
Well, I'm sorry that you're upset about the Giants.
I'm sorry that you're upset about the competitiveness of the Philadelphia Eagles.
I'm very happy, though, that you agreed to do this because a lot of people were excited to hear your thoughts.
And I'm sure this was a little cathartic for you to.
Not as cathartic as I thought it was.
I'm angrier now than I was nine minutes ago.
By the way, I said I haven't been this excited since Nando's last show.
And Nando,
I tweeted that Nando said he wanted to listen to the year.
You ran.
You got to understand,
like you got to,
for me,
it's just,
I don't know how to feel because it's not like,
you know,
all of my teams are terrible,
but I mean,
the Yankees ripped my guts out.
The,
the hurricanes humiliated by UNC. and then their quarterback, their star quarterback
just tore his ACL in their bowl game. They didn't, did they bench him? No. They went, they tried to
win. And then their basketball team has lost basically on like two buzzer beaters in a row,
like two. So I've just had this run of bad sports luck. Somehow the Knicks are three and three.
So I'm just kind of down on my luck in terms of sports. The Giants
win today and I'm very
happy and excited and then
you just don't like...
Then this other team just basically just tries not to
win. So honestly,
I just obviously hate the Eagles.
If there was one show that we needed to be on camera
for, it's just that people need to see
how animated you are.
And obviously I have to censor myself.
Every word I say is not what I want to say. It's a sandwich.
Just like, let's get the sandwich out of here already.
All right. Well, thank you for agreeing to do this, Adam. I'm sure everybody's going to be
excited to hear your AAA rant. We'll have our usual schedule of podcasts.
You'll be back hosting as normal.
But I'm sorry that the Giants did not make the playoffs.
Don't apologize.
It's football that needs the apology.
We're sorry for football.
I think football got some good entertainment out of this.
I guess that's kind of true.
We thank you, Doug Peterson, for providing us this entertainment.
The worst sandwich I've ever had.
