This is fantasy football today from CBS Sports.
Swat play! Can you believe this?
It's a no idea.
It's time to dominate your fantasy league.
Now here's some combination of Adam, Dave, Jamie, and Heath.
Coming up on today's show, who is this year's Justin Jefferson?
Could it be Justin Jefferson again?
Who is this year's Jackson Smith and Jigba, that wide receiver or any position breakout
that's going to win you your fantasy league?
who is this year's Chris Oliva,
who's going to finally catch some touchdown passes.
Welcome to Fantasy Football today.
It is Monday, May 11th,
we are fired up for another week of FFT.
And before we get to the show,
the news and notes, the superlatives,
happy belated Mother's Day to everybody.
Sorry I didn't say anything on Thursday,
but I hope everybody had a great Mother's Day.
So, of course, let's get out the Mother's Dayometer.
Heath, how was your Mother's Day?
9.5.
Dave, how was your Mother's Day?
10 out of 10 because my wife didn't end up crying because of something the kids did.
That's a very low bar.
Jamie, I wish I was joking.
How was your mother's day?
Eight.
I ate as well.
I ate a lot.
It was great.
Thank you very much.
All right.
Good stuff.
Anyway, for all of you, ladies.
That was your mother's day.
It was great.
We had a really good time.
Where does that rank?
What number are you giving your mother's day?
8.5.
Yeah.
Are you wearing like an airport pillow?
No. It's just a hoodie. It's the same color as the airport pillows. Anyway, let's get to the show. News and Notes. So later this week, we're going to have... Airport pillow? We're going to have airplane pillow. We're going to have players we don't talk. So what do you think? Is it players we don't talk enough about or players we don't talk about enough?
Don't talk about enough. Okay. So we're going to talk about Breeze Hall on that show. That'll be Wednesday.
Players we don't talk about.
What if he's one of the guys in one of our categories?
Oh, then I'm going to have to change Wednesday's lineup a little bit here.
But Brise Hall did sign a three-year, $43.5 million contract extension with $29 million
guaranteed with the New York Jets.
So congratulations to Brise Hall.
Instead of playing under the franchise tag, he gets the long-term deal.
Dave, Minnesota-
The list of players talking about Wednesday so we could ruin your day.
No.
That's the kind of thing I do to Heath.
It's not going to happen to me.
Minnesota signed Juan Jennings, Dave,
to a one-year $13 million deal.
They also, according to Tom Pelliserro of NFL Network,
they're going to have J.J. McCarthy and Kyler-Marie
compete for the starting quarterback job.
But they signed Joanne Jennings.
It's not great for Jennings, obviously.
Keep in mind.
Oh, yes, it is.
He's got $13 million on his contract.
Not great for his fantasy value.
No.
Jalen Naylor never had more than 53 targets in a season.
Last year, they just didn't throw to T.J. Hawkinson.
But what do you think about this?
What does it mean for Justin Jefferson to a lesser extent for Addison and for Hawkinson?
I'm not lowering those guys in my rankings because of this, but you've got to assume that Jennings will command a few targets per game.
It's going to be closer to what Naylor was doing rather than what Jennings has done in the past.
I think part of the reason why he's there is for his run blocking ability.
Part of the reason why he's there is because he kind of knows this offense.
I am not a believer in John Jennings being some big-time fantasy factor unless something were to happen to Justin Jefferson or Jordan Addison, maybe even T.J. Hawkinson along the way.
Does anyone downgrade Justin Jefferson after this news?
No.
Yeah.
Okay. Go ahead, Jamie.
Well, I mean, again, you're talking about another mouth to feed in an offense that has some uncertainty with who the quarterback's going to be.
So not a significant downgrade, but enough to put him behind a couple of receivers who, you know, were in the mix with it.
him. I think we had this conversation during the mock draft about CD Lamb versus Justin
Jefferson. I had Jefferson ahead of Lamb prior to this. Now Jefferson's behind Lamb.
So he went from like wide receiver six to like wide receiver eight. He went from a back end of round
one pick to, you know, early round two. So he dropped like five or six spots overall, one or two spots
in the receiver rankings. It's just looking at where he was last year. At his best with Carson
Wentz was about 16.8 p.pr points per game.
I don't know if that's what he is. So can he get to that high end level that we're, you know,
we're used to seeing from him, you know, pre-20205.
I'm hopeful.
He obviously still, as, you know, Joe Pisa Pia said, totally great.
One of the most talented receivers in the NFL.
But you are asking now Kyler Murray to support Jefferson, Addison, and Joanne Jennings.
And it's a little bit too much of a crowded receiving one.
Dave doesn't seem to agree.
Just, you know.
No, no, no.
I'm just saying I do agree with you're asking Kyler Murray to support all those guys.
We're going to talk about Justin Jefferson later on.
We don't have to get into it now.
Okay.
More news.
And by the way, I think Jamie probably also move Rishu Rice ahead of Justin Jefferson, my guess.
Is it the other guy?
Yeah.
Okay.
That was already.
It sounds like you might have been the high guy on Jefferson.
And now you're kind of thinking the same way that I'm thinking him maybe Heath's thinking, too.
I don't want to speak for Heath.
Yeah.
I guess so.
Yeah, because now you all have a eighth or ninth.
Okay.
ESPN's Brady Henderson wrote an article about Judari and Price for the Seahawks, and he said,
quote, in projecting where Price will fit into that mix, it's best to view him as the Seahawks
replacement for Walker as opposed to their clear-cut RB1.
That's because the defending Super Bowl champions also plan to use free agent addition to Manuel
Wilson, as well as George Halani, with Charbonnet expected to return at some point.
So he also continues, it's not as though the Seahawks are going to ask Price to go from
an RB2 in college to a high-volume starter in the NFL right away.
Just be aware of that.
Mike McDaniel wants Justin Herbert to have more quick throws.
Mike McDaniel also praise Quentin Johnston's growth.
I think it's interesting, Heath, that if he's going to, if Justin Herbert's going to get the ball out more quickly, isn't that you would think on paper on the surface bad for Quentin Johnston?
I mean, yes, but no.
Because we're not projecting Quentin Johnston to be the number one target in this offense.
He's not being projected for a large number of targets.
It doesn't mean they're never going to throw the ball down field.
I still think when they do, it will often be to Quentin Johnston.
So I'm not lowering his projection.
If there was somebody that might be impacted by this, I think it would just be more love for Amory in Hampton.
Because those quicker throws, a lot of times in Miami went to the running back.
And I think they probably will in Los Angeles as well.
And I'm sorry.
Adam, did you miss the news this morning?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
David Najoko, going to the Chargers, forgot to mention that.
One-year deal worth $8 million up to $8 million.
So how does that, how does Najoku factor into this crowded receiving room now, Jamie?
Well, I mean, look, it's a pretty significant piece to, you know, I think what this offense is going to look like.
It sucks for Ronda Gadsden.
Right.
So, you know, you're looking at, you know, a more established tight end.
I don't know if at this point he's a better tight end.
but I'm going to guess they're going to treat him that way.
And so, you know, I don't think this necessarily changes things dramatically for McConkey or Johnston or Hampton.
It's a great addition for Justin Herbert.
So if you're like me and you were excited about Justin Herbert, you know, he's gone anywhere between five and eight in my rankings so far this offseason.
You know, I might put him back at five.
But just excited about, you know, having Slater healthy, alt-healthy McDaniel there, another piece of the, you know, offense that gets better.
if McDaniel gets more creative with multiple tight-end sets,
then it's going to hurt one of the two receivers.
Probably Quentin Johnson would be my guess,
just because I think McConkey's versatile enough
that he's going to be on the field more so than anybody else.
I hope this is the only addition that they make,
and we don't have a Keenan-Allen reunion as well.
But looking at it again, you're going to have one of the more creative minds
as the play caller.
You're going to have a quarterback that he has never had the ability to work with
from a talent standpoint.
And so there's, you know, a lot to love about Herbert's upside.
I just think that all signs are pointing in the right direction for the Chargers.
So I'm excited about almost everything related to this team.
I mean, you've heard me say it, and I've done it.
In every draft that we've done, I have taken somebody from the Chargers offense in some way, shape, or form.
And now, you know, one of the late tight ends for me will be David Najuku.
Remember how Nogoku was used in Cleveland, too.
Short area guy, easy target to get the ball out to, let him make a play after the catch.
I am sure that that's part of,
and this goes hand in hand with what that rapport was, Adam.
This is somebody who can be just an easy,
I don't want to say checkdown guy for Justin Herbert,
but just somebody that he can hit over the middle
if downfield targets are covered.
And he'll make plays after the catch.
In theory, it sounds great.
It's just a matter of whether or not Nojoku still has that explosiveness
and will still warrant getting five targets a game for him to matter in fantasy.
Yeah, I will be making some dynasty offers for Rwanda Gadsden, I believe.
there you go.
Okay.
So who's going to be your highest ranked Chargers tight end this year?
Nogh.
Gadsden.
Probably Gadsden for me, but neither one of them are going to be ranked in a position
to where I'm going to be probably drafting them in a normal league.
And I was kind of afraid of this.
Gadsden was never in my top 12 to begin with,
and now it just makes it easier to keep him out.
And Nogoku, you know, he might feel a little old.
He's been in the league since 2017.
He's going to be 30.
I think in a month or two.
When's his birthday?
It should say on there.
It's over the summer.
July 10th.
And,
Goddard, you know, Dallas Goddard
had a great year at age 31 last year.
Kittles 32.
So he's not old, per se.
He's been around.
If ever there was a tight end
who had shown signs of aging
at that age 28, 29 range,
it would be him.
Hard time staying healthy.
The efficiencies really cratered
the last couple of years.
Could bounce back
because it's a much better
quarterback than he's been playing.
us.
All right.
So a lot of news coming out of Los Angeles.
Let's see.
What's next?
Oh,
this is an interesting note on Xavier Worthy.
Andy Reid said that they,
Xavier,
really heard his shoulder early in week one last year.
And when he came back,
they were limiting his routes.
So he wasn't fully healthy.
They wanted to protect that shoulder.
They also didn't give him the ball as a,
as a rusher as much.
So maybe we can get a little bit of a bounce back for Xavier Worthy.
I think it's kind of fascinating,
two guys that are kind of in a similar spot because of lack of targets around them,
and that's Worthy and Matthew Golden.
You know, two essential busts so far in their careers.
Very hard to say because it's so early, but, you know, just looking at the draft capital
and what they've done or lack their own.
But, I mean, the receiving core in Kansas City, you know, you're asking a lot of Rushy Rice,
you're asking a lot of Travis Kelsey, worthy should have a chance to make some plays.
You're asking a lot of the guys in Green Bay that have moved on Tucker Crafts coming
off a, you know, ACL tear. We've gotten different reports about when he'll be ready.
You know, Jane Reed gets the contract extension. Obviously, you know, we're excited about
Christian Watson, but look, there's opportunities for those two guys. You know, this is a very big
prove it year. I wonder from a dynasty perspective, Ethan, these two guys you're looking to acquire
just with the, with the chance, because you probably get maybe as cheap as they'll ever be.
Yeah, as long as they're really cheap. Like, I think I would probably rather have these two guys
than just about any 2026 second round pick.
Right.
So if you could do that.
I have so many 2020s.
How about 107 or one of these guys?
Oh, no, no, I'd take 107.
No, it's 108 is where the problem starts in that.
That's why I said 107.
Yeah.
Okay.
All right, anywho.
I literally, before the show started,
it was why I was a couple minutes late getting to a friend of mine who never asked me
fantasy advice before to said, hey, I'm on a clock and I see like, I have 108.
And I was like, oh, sorry.
It's super flexed.
Oh.
Yeah, so just a reminder, Xavier Worthy scored 19.6 or more PPR fantasy points in five of his last six games, including the playoffs, as a rookie.
And got hurt in week one.
So we haven't seen, hopefully we haven't seen the best of Worthy.
Tank Dell, he was awesome as a rookie.
According to Aaron Wilson of NBC Sports Houston, Tankdale is still not 100% healthy.
But he's getting, you know, he's making progress.
Daniel Jones could participate in OTAs later this month.
not going to be, you know, full participant or anything, but that's encouraging.
Sean Payton said Bo Nix is going to be limited in next month's mini-camp, but full speed for
training camp.
He broke his ankle in the playoffs.
He had two ankle surgeries, Bo Nix.
Atlanta head coach Kevin Stefanski does not see Zachariah Branch, their rookie third-round
pick as just a slot guy, says he can play all over the field.
Tampa Bay rookie wide receiver Ted Hurst was apparently a rookie minicamp standout,
according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.
That's an interesting player, small school, but a lot of talent.
And the NFL schedule is going to be released on Thursday,
which reminds me, we've got a special programming announcement for you
on Friday.
1 p.m. Eastern, we are on CBS Sports Network.
So tune in Friday afternoon, 1 p.m. Eastern CBS Sports Network.
Yeah.
Special edition of fantasy football today.
We'll be right back, predicting fantasy superlatives for 20.
2026 after this.

Who is this year's Jackson Smith in Jigba?
Let's get our first guesses at this.
This is going to be the biggest non-quarterback breakout because our next question is going to be who is this year's Drake May?
But who is this year's Jackson Smith and Jigba Heath?
Nobody, but I will.
Sorry, I won't do that on every question.
I won't do that on every question, but I'll go with Louisville.
their burden.
Okay.
Dave?
I got a long list and there's a lot of veterans on the list.
That's a perfect encapsulation.
My name, Dave, pick your favorite one.
I am picking my favorite one.
I'm picking Jalen Waddle with Denver.
Wow.
Okay.
Jamie.
I'm going to go much more obvious.
Rashi Rice.
Oh.
Oh, I was, we're doing this so early.
I talked, I talked twice last week on different podcasts about how mad
Adam was going to get at me for calling Rashi Rice a breakout and then saying he's just going to do the same thing he's done in three partial samples over a full season.
Yeah, I mean, he's going to be a top 15 pick probably.
But, you know, JSN was like a late third round pick.
You didn't give us criteria on this one.
What did you say?
You didn't give us any criteria on this one.
That's fine.
It's fine.
The point stands.
I was to say Brock Bowers.
I think, yeah, another guy got hurt in week one.
All right, Dave, who are some other guys on your list?
Some other interesting names.
These are going to be younger names.
Alec Pierce, Pierce, Paul, Parker Washington,
Carnell Tate made my list.
And then some veteran, well, Ted Roan McMillan's on the list.
He's obviously in the second year.
Some veterans, Devante Smith,
Ladd McConkey, who already kind of touched on the Chargers passing game.
And DJ Moore, I don't necessarily love his game.
at this point in his career,
but he can't deny the opportunity
that he's got now in Buffalo.
Devante Smith and Garrett Wilson
and Lab McConkey are three receivers
who were going in that range
where JSN was going last year
and have, you know,
great opportunity to really bust out.
Smith takes a ton of sense.
Devonte, yeah, Smith,
the case, we've made the case so many times.
I don't know that McConkey
can get the target volume, though.
You know, Garrett Wilson certainly can.
Who's got the,
You know, I think so.
I mean, he does it every year.
I just don't like the additions that they've made.
Yeah, I don't know.
I could see that.
I can see that.
Yeah, I get it.
They drafted two offensive players in the first round, but.
Well, it's not that Garrett Wilson needs to have the huge target explosion like JSN does, did it.
It's that Garrett Wilson needs to do something with those targets.
He did it last year.
It was awesome last year.
All right.
Who is this year's Drake May, biggest quarterback breakout?
Jamie.
Caleb Williams.
Dave.
Williams topped my list, but the most interesting name to me is Tyler Shuck.
Oh.
I'm very excited about Tyler Shuck, but I think the answer is Jaden Daniels.
Okay.
Interesting.
Kind of had a great rookie year, Jada Daniels.
Well, I think the other issue, looking at ADP,
Caleb Williams, I was a little surprised because he goes.
later than this in our drafts, but
Caleb Williams, QB6 and Fantasy
Pro's ADP right now, QB8 and draft sharks.
Drake May was QB 16 last year.
So,
um,
okay.
Well,
yeah.
Was he,
he didn't go,
wait,
he was QB 16 and ADP?
Yeah.
In August.
I mean,
that's what I looked up this morning.
Gosh,
I feel like he was never drafted that late in our leagues.
I thought he was constantly going,
Well, I think in our leagues he wasn't because I think you guys were more excited about him.
But our leagues rarely reflect home league reality.
Yeah.
Let me see if I, you know what?
I'm going to look at the show that we did, the quarterback preview that we did in August.
And I'm going to tell you where his ADP was because all I'm looking at is what I saw this morning.
Drake May.
Yeah, he was round 13.
He was after Justin Herbert, Jordan Love.
He was after C.J. Stroud.
He was one quarterback before J.J. McCarthy.
One, two, three, four, five, six.
He was right around 13.
I won't do the counting.
But yeah, that's accurate.
Or 16.
Yeah, he was not a top 15 quarterback in ADP.
Okay.
So you were asking for which QB outside of the top 12 could be a top five.
I think that Caleb Williams is a perfectly fine answer.
I don't know that Jaden Daniels meets the criteria because he's already kind of done it, no?
Or like, what do you think?
He was only not getting a draft.
per game as a rookie.
Okay.
I think if he averages 28 to 30 this year, then he certainly qualifies.
Sure.
It could be a top six pick among quarterbacks, pretty much every draft anyway.
So I don't know if he necessarily, I agree where you're coming from on this.
I think he could have a monster year.
But I don't know if he qualifies as like.
I don't think ADP has anything.
Well, and we disagree about this all the time, but I don't think ADP has anything to do with whether someone's a breakout.
No, I agree.
That's fair.
I don't disagree with that.
I just, yeah.
Yeah, for the specific Drake-May comparison,
you were not using ADP that is perfectly fine.
If there were a quarterback going, you know, 15th or later at the position
that you thought could have a huge year,
it doesn't have to be his breakout year,
because I would say Mahomes, you know, might be in this position.
He's probably going to be like QB 13 or somewhere around there.
Kyler.
Kyler.
I was going to say Kyler, yeah.
And Shuck, too.
That's good call.
Shuck.
You guys really think Shuck?
Like, Drake May was the, what, fourth pick in the draft?
Tyler Shuck was kind of a nothing prospect.
He had a shockingly good year last year.
I don't see Shuck with that kind of upside.
I'm sorry.
And he was on pace for like 19 touchdown passes.
If we saw somebody with that type of upside,
we wouldn't be drafting them at QB 16.
No, I disagree because it's such a deep position.
We thought May had huge upside last year.
We probably also thought he had a big downside.
And I think, I think, I'm sorry, let me just look at where Mahomes is going right now.
Because he obviously has big upside.
But he can't be, you can't, like, you can't call Patrick Mahomes a breakout if he goes and scores 30 points this year.
It doesn't have to be a breakout.
It's just a guy going late.
He's QB 12 in Fantasy Pros right now.
Purdy is QB 13.
Bo Nix is QB 14.
Stafford is QB 15.
Golf 16
I'll change my pick to Stafford.
Kyler 17.
Jordan Love 18.
Okay.
Who is this year's Justin Jefferson,
wide receiver held back by bad quarterback play?
I'm waiting for the rest of the qualifications.
I'm going to add after we're saying this.
Teddera-Roming milk.
Teddera-Robabit, okay.
M.K.
Garrett Wilson.
It's interesting that you guys all went with rounds three, four guys, basically, because I think you could look at rounds one and two and be concerned about Jefferson, Drake London, Nico Collins.
There are a lot of guys there.
Well, I mean, it's hard to say Nico Collins when his best seasons have come with the quarterback that he has.
But I think you could argue that he was held back by CJ Stroud last year.
I mean, it's fair.
But, again, like, you know, if we're ranking Nico Collins there, it's because we expect him to at least be.
close to the level that he's been at, and he's been at this level with his current quarterback.
He had a down year, was that 15.1 PPR points per person?
I just took it as, like, when I looked at it, the top 20 receivers for me, like, who's the one that I don't think will get necessarily better from his current quarterback situation?
And the one that stood out to me was McMillan.
I think Maynillan could be just as good as he was, but it wouldn't surprise me if it takes a little bit of a step back as well.
Would it surprise you if he took a little bit of a step forward?
No, no, no.
But, I mean, again, you're looking at, I think it's still going to be a run-heavy offense, even without Rico Dattle there.
I still think you're looking at the limitations that Bryce Young has.
You add Brazel, who, you know, will take away a few targets.
You still have, you know, what I would assume is a player that's going to get a little bit better as well in Jalen Koker.
They're still going to give Liget opportunities.
So while McMillan is definitely the alpha, no question.
I just don't know if he takes a step forward.
and part of that is because I think
Bryce Young is limited.
It's weird that McMillan only had 122
targets because he's my answer to
a superlative we have a little bit later.
Yes, he's mine as well.
Yeah, the Marvin Harrison one.
Yep.
Yeah, it's weird that he only got 122 targets.
If you look at some of his advanced metrics,
it's really exciting stuff.
He did some good stuff on paper,
but he had a 22.3% target per route run rate,
which is good, not amazing.
25.4% target share.
I mean, I think you'll take that.
Just have to have to throw more.
So you already alluded to it, Jamie.
You still think they'll be run heavy.
I don't know.
The loss of Rico Dowdell,
who was a big physical guy
that they smashed in between the tackles
all game long,
it might mean that they just can't be
a high volume run offense like they were last year.
And maybe he gets to 140 or more targets
or something like that.
There's really no reason why he should be great.
Yeah.
I don't see it, but it would be great.
Yeah.
See, and I don't see it would be great.
I'd lean the other way.
I think that he does have a chance at it.
I think there's a better chance that he hits than misses,
but it might be 60-40,
not like slam dunk,
for sure,
stud wide receiver.
And it's because of Bryce Young.
It's because we don't know if Bryce Young can elevate his game.
They're trying to make it happen.
They're protecting them.
They've done things with their offensive line to make it better.
I think Dave Canals,
giving up playing duties might actually end up being a good thing for the Panthers this year.
I do think their defense will be better.
I don't know if that means their run game.
certainly they might get more opportunities.
I don't know if it means they'll be just as efficient or more efficient as they were last year.
And that might force the issue for Bryce Young to have to make plays.
They didn't add a lot to their receiving core.
We can talk about Jalen Coker all day long.
I still think McMillan is clearly the best guy there.
You guys have said as much.
I think everybody agrees that he's the alpha.
Last year, they lowered his target per route run rate after the first five games of the year.
And he started to have better efficiency then.
I wonder if they'd give him even more.
I wonder if they just put more on his plate and kind of do to him what the Seahawks did to JSN.
Yeah.
And that could make that could be very exciting.
It's worth betting on.
It's worth making him, you know, in that range of a top 15 wide receiver and full PPR.
Heath, Tyler says, Abuka is a spicy answer from Heath for this year's Justin Jefferson held back by bad quarterback play.
Yeah, I don't.
I don't know how spicy it is just because Baker Mayfield was that.
guy last year in the second half of the season. And Baker Mayfield has been that guy like four
different times in his career. But I just chose him because I think Mayfield is probably one of the
more unpredictable quarterbacks. And more people seem to be excited about him in that offense
bouncing back. I maybe should have chose Tampa Bay for an answer later in the show.
Okay. Oh, yeah. Who is this? You know who else could be this year's Justin Jefferson? And you alluded to
this is Justin Jefferson. Yes.
because of Kyler Murray.
Like is an upgrade over J.J. McCarthy?
Yeah, but I mean, the track record of Kyler Murray helping out wide receivers and fantasy isn't exactly grand.
He's had moments with DeAndre Hopkins.
He had, I think, like a few games with Hollywood Brown, but otherwise, it's been ugly.
And I don't know if he's going to be any better.
I don't know if this Vikings offense is necessarily going to be much better than they were last year.
I think it's a huge question mark.
and it makes me a little nervous to take Justin Jefferson,
even where I have him ranked right now,
which is top 15 overall.
Seems a little high.
Obviously, he's had some great years.
He's only, let me just take a look here at his career.
He had one year with Hopkins in the same age range as Jefferson,
and it was the best year that Hopkins had in Arizona by far.
And so, you know, if you're looking at it,
Kyler was healthy, Hopkins was 28 years old.
It was an insane season.
And so hopefully it's a similar type of,
deal with Jefferson who's actually a year younger than Hopkins was during that year.
It was the first year that they were together.
So the hope would be, and obviously Dave's not wrong here because we saw what Colorado
looked like, really post-ACL.
He hasn't been the same type of player.
But this is his prove it year.
If he does not do well this year, he's never getting a mega contract again.
He may not be a starter again.
So he's got to go out and have a productive season.
What that means, we'll find out.
You know, but you are talking about, and again, I don't know how you want to, you know, rank the sample size.
But the quarterbacks that O'Connell has worked with not named J.J. McCarthy have all been productive in some way, shape, or form, whether you're saying fantasy production, whether you're saying NFL production, whether you're saying, you know, just volume, you know, but we saw it with the year that Cousins was injured.
And it was almost anybody that got an opportunity to play that season put up decent numbers and Jefferson put up numbers after coming back from a significant hamstring injury at the end of the season.
So there's just a lot to like about what the scenario can be.
However, now you're throwing another wrinkle into it with Jennings being there.
So it just makes it a little bit more uncomfortable for where Jefferson's high-end production can come from.
All right.
Who is this year's James Cook?
He was a – this doesn't have to necessarily be a third-round pick,
but he was a third-round pick last year, played like a first-rounder,
and he just got a lot more usage.
He went from 207 carries in 16 games to 309 carries in 17 games.
it did not increase his third down routes or anything like that.
It really was just an increase in carries mostly for James Cook.
So who is this year's James Cook, Heath?
So if we're going with the third round pick angle,
and we don't care if it's someone who's had the similar jump in the past,
I will say Josh Jacobs.
If you're wanting a guy who is kind of doing this for the first time
and greatly outproduces his value based on increased workload,
I'll say quench on Judkins.
Okay.
Dave.
I knew he was going to say Quinshon.
The first name that came into my mind is somebody who you're not going to get in the third round,
and that's Amari and Hampton.
So if I've got to go third round or later, I had a tougher time with this.
You know the name that I put at the top of my list?
He doesn't really qualify for this either, not because of the round,
but because he's never played in the NFL before, but it's Judarian Price in Seattle.
Okay.
Jamie, who's this year's James Cook?
for me it's Ken Walker
you know going to Kansas
City
too I like it yeah
you're going to Kansas City
you know getting a chance for
hopefully not coming off the field
as we saw with you know
Charbonnet
but I just think you're looking at
a guy in the same range
draft wise draft capital
feels as if
Kansas City is going to be more run heavy
than they have the past couple of years
mostly because they have more talent
in the backfield but I think spending the money
on Walker
Mahomes coming off the injury trying to
protect them at least early in the season.
You know, even the addition of Emma Johnson, Johnson's going to get some work too.
But I think Walker's just in a spot where proven guy, Super Bowl MVP, we saw the run when he was the featured guy there for Seattle.
I just think it's a good opportunity for him.
So for me, he's the guy that falls in this category.
Okay.
And just looking at where Walker's going, I don't know.
Some round, like Jacobs.
He could go anywhere from the second round or the third round, you know, in that range.
And, yeah, Walker, the snap shares, you can't help but see the similarities.
James Cook went from 49% snapshot in 2024 to 60% in 2025.
Ken Walker had a 47% snapshot last year, but it was 63% in the postseason.
Give this guy a 60% snapshot or better.
We could have a really awesome player.
Stay healthy.
Yes.
Who is this year's, oh, man, there's a player I haven't talked about yet as a breakout,
but I'm just going to say, I won't even get into it,
but a guy who could be a minor version of JSN,
a minor version of James Cook
just by playing more snaps
and being used out wide
instead of in the slot all the time,
it's Josh Downs.
I just want to throw that out there.
Who is this year's Chris Olave, Dave Richard?
This is a wide receiver
who finally scores the touchdowns kind of thing.
I'll go back to DJ Moore
as being a candidate for this
because he's had seven plus touchdowns
twice in eight years
and I think he could find the end zone
seven times.
Heath
Zay Flowers
And Jamie
I was wondering who you're going to go to first
Because that was my answer too
I know it's going to be the guy Heath was going to say also
So yeah it's safe flowers
I mean look
Five touchdowns four touchdowns
He kind of just lives in that
His entire career
You take away
Isaiah likely
You know you're looking at Rashad Bateman
And a couple of rookies
I think
The move to
The move to move on from John Harbaugh
speaks to trusting
or wanting to trust Lamar Jackson a little bit more
if that was the narrative and allowing him to throw the ball a little bit more.
And so I think Flowers, this is an opportunity to shine.
So, you know, Heath has been sort of banging this drum for a while now this off season.
I totally agree.
I think it's, you know, Flowers getting in the end zone two or three more times,
gets him in that seven to ten range.
You know, we're looking at, you know, a guy that's going to have a good breakout season.
Flowers was almost my pick for this year's Jason.
Yeah, I mean, the thing about Flowers is that he is small.
He's five, nine.
And there is, I only.
bring that up because touchdowns and end zone targets, there's obviously a correlation there.
And Olave had a lot more end zone targets last year.
I think you should say that he is short.
Yeah, he's short.
Because he's actually thicker than Olavee.
He's the weight difference isn't big at all.
It's a three, three inch height difference.
Yeah.
He's five.
Dave Lowers is five nine.
McLaurin two years ago when he had all those touchdowns, he had a lot of end zone
targets.
They're not, not a lot of five, nine wide receivers who are getting a,
ton of end zone targets.
And he did have,
Zay Flowers did have nine one year.
I think he's had five,
nine, and five,
four, nine, and five end zone targets
in three seasons.
But there is one guy I wanted to bring up.
Marquise Brown in three seasons in Baltimore,
had nine,
13, and 13 end zone targets.
So can we just get,
if we had that,
imagine Zay's Tet Flowers
had 13 end zone targets.
I think we have a pretty good year.
All right,
let's take a break.
Who is this year's Javante Williams?
A mid to late round pick
who gets the starting job
and is a fantasy steal.
We'll tell you after this on fantasy football today.
Every time we play a landman promo on the show on YouTube,
I have to take my headphones off because I don't want any spoilers.
I'm still in episode five of season one.
I'll get there someday.
All right.
Who is this year's Giovante Williams, Jamie,
mid to late round pick who gets the starting job and is a fantasy steal?
Yeah, I'll go back to, I guess, the narrative that I laid out before.
For me, it's Chuba Hubbard.
I'm hopeful we're going to get a healthy Jonathan Brooks.
You know, it would be great to see.
We're talking about a year removed from football coming off two ACL tears in the same knee.
So there's a lot for him, I think, to have to prove.
But the offseason has been great for Chuba so far, you know, as Dave alluded to,
you know, beefing up the offensive line once again for the Panthers this off season.
He loses what was his toughest competition, at least as of now,
Enrico Dowell leaving and nobody of significance coming in.
So this kind of feels very similar to Giovante.
You know, we were maybe it's going to be Jaden Blue.
Maybe it's going to be Malik Davis.
And Javante's kind of been this guy that's never really done what he was expected to do
after hurting himself as following his rookie season.
And then he got the chance to be that guy and was a really good fantasy option.
So Chuba was really good in 2024.
Huge disappointment in 2025.
I think he can get back to that 2024 level of production just given the circumstances
with what the lack of competition is, at least as him now in the back.
Dave, who's this year's Giovante?
Bacial Tutin in Jacksonville.
Good offense, strong offensive line last year.
Coming back, I believe all five spots are four of the five spots.
They didn't really do much to add to their run game.
They got rid of ETS.
They brought in Chris Rodriguez.
One thing that's kind of spooked me on Rodriguez is that the commanders had him in their,
in their camp for a couple of years, and he was a restricted free agent.
They just let him walk.
And I know that the Jaguars, obviously,
Obviously, Liam Cohen has a relationship with him.
And I see all the reports.
I just think Tutin is a better athlete than Chris Rodriguez.
And I think that can show out.
And they were both good in short yardage situations last year.
And so as far as mid-round picks go, I'm going to draft Chuba ahead of Bachel Tutin.
But I'm going to want to have some Tutin across my teams this year because I think he does have some huge breakout potential.
That was kind of a quote.
Heath, let's see if you stole my guy.
So far, my guy is still on the board.
Who is this year's Devante Williams?
So I think, I don't even know if I believe this,
but if I'm just going with the narrative of a veteran running back
who we think is going to come in and play in a pass-down role
but actually turns into the guy, maybe through attrition,
that just gets a whole bunch of touches and is good
and an offense that's better, I will go with Rashad White.
Okay.
Don't hate it.
That wasn't my guy.
I'm going to go with Jalen Warren, who, you know,
I almost said Rico Daudal.
The thing is Warren out carried Gainwell by a lot last year.
What happened was Gainwell became the primary receiving back.
Dowdell is not going to do that.
So if we can just get, Warren, Warren had 40 catches last year.
I think Douddle has more targets than Jalen Warren and has been better on passing downs than Jalen Warren.
I don't know.
I'd be surprised.
I think Warren's going to be, go back to the third down roll.
Aaron Rogers at the second highest running back target rate.
on third down last year.
Now they have Pitman this year.
I get that.
I'd go with Warren,
but these are all,
these are good answers,
good running backs in the mid-rounds.
Man, Javante was such a steal last year.
He was going later than all these guys.
Who is this year's Marvin Harrison, Jr.?
That is a popular breakout call who didn't really break out.
Jamie,
I think you and I had Tederoa McMillan.
Yep.
And you're just worried about everything you talked about,
the quarterback.
I just think he's going to be in this.
same range that he was, which was a very good fantasy receiver.
Obviously, a down year for fantasy receivers.
I don't have him ranked as a bust, for example.
He's not on a bus list for me, at least as him now.
But I just think, like, there's going to be a little bit over-hyping Tedroa McMillan
because year two, coming off a good season, can he get better?
And the concerns for me are Bryce Young, mostly.
So to go back to your other superlative quarterback holding back high-end talent,
I think we get a little bit of a limitation of the ceiling for for tetaroa just because of the offense that he's in and Bryceham.
Yeah, for example, with McMillan, he may not be any better or much better than Luther Bird and Garrett Wilson, Ladd McConkey, Devante Smith, Emeka, Bucca, Jalen, Jalen Waddle, DJ Moore, Terry McLaren.
And those guys are going, you know, a lot of them are going around later than McMillan.
So just a choice you have to make.
Dave, who's this year's Marvin Harrison Jr.?
I don't have a good answer for this one, but knowing that the bears have a stud tied end in Colson Loveland and a former first round pick who started last year Red Hot in Romo Dunzee, I'm wondering if we're overvaluing the role that Luther Burden will have in Chicago.
And is he going to lead this team in targets?
I have a hard time believing that.
And so can he be drafted as a top 24 wide receiver knowing that there's a little bit of a ceiling there.
And it makes me just a little bit nervous that maybe we're all just kind of going crazy on burden.
I know the metrics are great.
And I know the offense is great.
And I think they're going to throw a lot.
But I don't know if burden is going to like run away with this thing target wise, touchdown wise, maybe even catching yards wise.
Heath, this year's Marvin Harrison Jr.
The breakout that just doesn't really happen.
Probably will be the least popular pick of the group, but I will say Ladd McConkey.
because of what,
TARC too many cooks
and too many mouths to feed?
Yeah, I don't think they go to a path
I think they're going to be good.
I don't think they go to a pass heavy scheme though.
I think Amarion Hampton's going to have a large role
in the passing game.
Quentin Johnson's still going to be
not too far behind Ladd and targets
and they're signaling that they're going to use
their tight ends a lot as well.
Anybody give consideration of Marvin Harrison Jr. for this one?
I don't think people
or were that excited about him as a baby?
I don't think anybody's calling him a breakup.
No?
Yeah, probably not, I guess.
Going a little bit later.
I just calling him broke.
Well, Jamie, you seem to like him.
You draft him a lot.
Oh, I do draft him a lot at his cost.
I think, to me, breakout is, you know, top four rounds.
And, you know, somebody that you're expecting to get significantly better.
I think he's going to be better than he was last year, you know,
and I've said this time and again that had he not got an injured during Jacobi Bresset's run,
that Michael Wilson's production may have been Marvin Harrison's production
because he was starting to get going a little bit in those three games, he looked good.
But in the case of like what we're, the context we're talking about here, you know,
somebody who you expect to be, I think a top three-round talent,
I don't think Harrison's going to be viewed that way at all.
Oh, yeah.
Okay, next up, who is this year's Colston Loveland slash Luther Burden?
That's a rookie that will eventually contribute, but you have to be very patient.
Who is this year's Colston Loveland slash Luther Burden, Dave?
I don't know if there is one.
If I have to give an answer, I'll say Jordan Tyson.
That was the guy I was going to say.
I was going to say, Michael Newman.
You think it's going to be that long of a wait for these guys?
I think in the case of Tyson, you know, you already got the report that he's dealing with a hamstring injury or lingering hamstring injury or an old hamstring injury.
So for a guy that had injury concerns coming out of college, could he struggle a little bit to be consistent early in the season, then gets healthy?
and by the end of the year, we're starting to see the benefit of why everybody was hyping him up.
Could it just be a matter of getting enough targets, getting up opportunities, getting on the field?
I mean, the path is there, you know, as Dan and Jacob alluded to on the show he did with them a couple weeks ago,
and I think anybody can see, is the second receiver in New Orleans is miserable.
So, you know, drafting Jordan Tyson gives him the chance to play right away.
And talent-wise, he may be up there, if not better, than Chris Hollabe.
So there's the easy path to success.
but there's also a history here of injuries
and again, struggling with it now
leading into his rookie season
just makes me a little bit concerned about what he'll be
at the start of the year.
I'll let Heath talk about Lemon, but I think,
again, you're talking about sometimes rookies
just take time to get acclimated to the league
and for a guy going to Philadelphia,
that could take some time giving that offense.
I'll also let Heath talk about Lemon.
Oh, okay, I'll talk about Lemon.
No, I just think that it's
a new offensive system,
once again in Philadelphia, and there's, assuming A.J. Brown's gone. There's two guys that Jalen
Hertz is really, really comfortable with. One of the things we've heard a lot this off season is that
Jalen Hertz hasn't been really fond of doing things he's not comfortable with. So I think we could see a
huge target share for Devante Smith and Dallas Goddard early in the season. Lippon might even have a
little bit of trouble like the first month of the year with their increased depth at the wide
receiver position, Dantavian Wicks and Marquis Brown, but then the town.
talent wins out in the second half.
All right.
Can I give more just based on the news you gave?
Yeah.
Deering Price?
Yeah.
Well, unless...
Yeah, I don't know if we have to wait that long for him, though.
Yeah, but the thought that they're not going to rush him to be the lead guy right away.
Like, we could see a lot of Emmanuel Wilson and George Halani mixed in with Price at the start of the season.
And then it could just be middle to the end of the year.
It's like, okay, we can't hold this back anymore.
And here we go. Now that could coincide with Sharbonnet getting healthy, and then it's a big problem.
But I do think that it could be a couple weeks into the season before Judarian Price looks like the guy that we were waiting for.
And look, last year, it wasn't just Loveland and Burden. It was RJ Harvey.
You know, we had to wait for J.K. Dobbins to get hurt. And then Harvey was a stud at the end of the season, fantasy-wise, not the way he was producing.
Trevionn Henderson was miserable to start the season. And then he had the three games where Ramondre was out.
Looked like a superstar. Unfortunately, Ramondre came back.
but sometimes it happens with running backs too.
It's not just receivers.
Do we all have Tate as the highest ranked rookie receiver?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's kind of funny we didn't say him here.
Because I don't think you're going to have to,
you shouldn't have to wait that long.
Look, I mean, Burden and Loveland were not worth rostering,
especially Burden, right?
They just, burden barely played.
Loveland was splitting with Commet and, you know,
he had that big game against the Bengals.
Those guys were really doing basically nothing for your fantasy team.
I'm not really talking about Carnell Tate, who is going to be rostered for much of the year.
You'd have to think.
I mean, look, all the three rookie receivers, Tate being the third of the two guys we mentioned,
they're all going to be rostered and drafted and nobody's dropping them through the first month.
At least I would expect, you know, barring injuries or whatever your roster may look like,
but you're probably going to hold on to those guys.
It's, I mean, how often do we get rookies just being dominant right out of the gate?
You know, like you look last year, McMillan was good.
Obviously, Abuka was red hot.
Bucca was, and then he fell apart.
Right, but nobody drafted Abuka in a range where you were expecting him to be a superstar.
He was more in where Tate and Lemon and Tyson are probably going now, you know,
because we didn't know when Godwin was going to be healthy.
That was a big part of the storyline for Abuka last year.
But, you know, Tyler Warren was great last year, you know, right out of the gate.
You know, Gentie and Hampton were clearly going to be started in some capacity for your fantasy rosters,
Henderson and Harvey, unless you were me,
or you're drafting them to be reserves.
So I think in the case of a lot of their rookies,
you're drafting them in this year's draft,
aside from love and price,
you're not drafting them as starters.
Well, this guy,
Happy Hudson in the chat has my answer,
and it's Chris Bell.
recovering from a torn ACL, hopefully.
Can we keep the rhymes going?
Chris Bell, recovering from a torn ACL.
I think it's just going to take some time for them to gel.
But if you keep them in your lineup, it'll be swell.
Okay.
Don't keep them in your lineup.
Keep him on your bench until the whole thing.
All right, two more superlatives.
Who is this year's Indianapolis Colts?
Offense we expect little from, but we get a lot from.
They were eighth in scoring.
They were first in scoring with Daniel Jones.
Jamie, who's this year's Colts?
Dave mentioned one of their guys just now.
I think it's the Titans.
You know, I think we see a scenario where Cam Ward,
significant improvement in year two,
started to show a lot of signs of positive production
at the end of his rookie season.
You get Brian Dable, who has been a good offensive coordinator.
You get two significant pieces in the passing game added in Wondell Robinson and obviously Cardinal Tate.
And a team, I think, that's going to be able to, you know, certainly improve their scoring and their offensive production.
To this level, we'll find out.
But I do think we get a much better offense to Tennessee.
Heath.
The chat knows.
Saints?
Yeah.
Okay.
Dave.
Could it be the Colts?
I don't know if the expectations have changed because of how well they did last year.
And now we're just thinking they're going to go right back to it.
But the quarterback is coming back from injury.
One of their top receivers isn't on the team.
They didn't replace him.
So I wonder what everybody's expectation is for the Colts.
Did you think that they were going to be a top 10 offense when the day started,
when the offseason started?
I don't know if I did.
And I'm not sure if I'm ready to rule out them not getting back to being top 10.
Where's all the Giants love?
Come on, here we go.
They're next on my list.
I think people are expecting the Giants to be a good offense.
I think people might be expecting the Saints to be a good offense, though.
I mean, I took it as like who's going to surprise us.
Yeah, yeah.
I appreciate that.
Heath, who do you think the average fantasy fan has higher expectations for it?
The Giants or the Saints?
The Giants.
Without a doubt.
See, I would, I'm not sure that I disagree,
but I think the Giants are going to be more run-heavy than the Saints,
and that could hold them back from a fantasy perspective.
Just don't think they want to throw the ball that much.
It doesn't really seem that way.
I think the Saints are going to probably be better than the Giants.
In football or offense or what?
Offense.
Not defense.
Offense.
Okay.
All right.
The key to this, though, is you want a team that's going to have a last-place schedule.
Yeah.
Okay.
in a bad division too.
We know the strength of schedule stuff, don't we or do we not?
That would be the Saints.
Well, what sanctions of schedule stuff are you looking for?
Based on last year's records, you're wasting your time.
No, you are not.
Based on.
Yes, you are.
Oh, my gosh.
Go ahead.
Tell the Patriots and the 49ers that.
Tell those fantasy offenses that.
They had the easiest schedules in football last year, and they were fantasy steals.
They played horrible teams.
Did they have the easiest schedules based on 20-24 records?
Yes.
We went over this a thousand times.
You kept poo-pooing it, and they played garbage teams.
The Patriots played garbage teams all year.
They went to the freaking Super Bowl.
Everybody probably stays exactly the same.
There's no difference year over year.
You're right.
No, it's not that.
It's still like the best, you know, obviously things change.
But what happened a year before is still the best predictor that we have
for what's going to happen this year.
See, I would argue that the way Warren Sharp does it is better,
which is he uses the wind totals from Las Vegas.
I try and put a different spin on it by grading every defense.
That's worked for me.
And I think both of those are better than going back and looking at last year's records.
Well, yeah, but I bet you they're pretty similar to last year's records.
I bet the wind totals this year are pretty similar to last year's records, you know.
We have news.
Can I interrupt this fun conversation?
No, my shoulders are reaching the sky right now.
No, no, no, your airplane pillow is getting in the way.
What's our news?
My son is still playing football.
What's your son?
Oh, where?
In Jacksonville.
Who's this?
Amir Abdullah.
Yeah.
It has to be.
Is that who it is?
Wow.
Amira dabble do you?
One of the best ever.
Who is this year's?
Who is this year's Tampa Bay Buccaneers?
Offense we expect a lot from.
But get, I said get very little from, but that's not fair to Tampa Bay.
They were 18th in scoring.
So let's say an underachieving offense.
Who's the underachieving offense this year, Dave?
Let's start with Abdullah's team, the Jaguars,
taking a step back this year.
Oh, Heath?
I was just going to say it was going to be Tampa Bay again.
Okay. Jamie?
All right.
I have a little different spin on this,
but it's kind of injury-related, but the 49ers.
Okay.
A lot of old players that they're counting on
if they all do what old players do at times.
It could be miserable.
Dave, the Jagu.
Who said the Jaguars?
You said the Jaguars.
I did.
Yeah, what's up with that?
Just figuring that last year they overachieved and this year they take a step back.
Just kind of basic regression there.
I still like a lot of the components of the offense.
But having them, can they play like they did in the second half of the year for a full season?
I don't know if I can buy into that.
Heath, the bucks were 18th in scoring.
You think they'll be worse than that?
I think that everyone expects them to be better than that.
And I don't, that's right about where I would expect them to be.
Maybe a little worse.
I'm worried about the Giants.
Give you three reasons.
One, their best wide receiver is coming off a major injury.
Two, their best running back is coming off a major injury.
And three, their offensive coordinator has a pretty bad track record.
So, I really-
They were one spot better than that.
Tampa Bay last year in scoring.
They were 17th.
Tampa Bay was 18.
Wow.
Yeah, I want to buy in.
I want to get all optimistic.
I think I could see the Giants struggling this year,
firing both of their coordinators,
getting like really good hires in 2027,
and then being better than the chiefs
for the rest of Patch Mahomes' career.
We're going to add it there.
But before we do that, chat, we need your help.
Who should we talk about on Wednesday?
show, which is players that we don't talk about enough.
Who do you think we don't talk about?
I think it's not talk enough about.
No, we just, we already decided it's talk about enough.
You and Dave decided.
Heath and I didn't have a say in it, so maybe we have a difference.
No, Heath said talk about enough, right?
No, that was Dave.
I didn't speak.
I didn't weigh in.
Okay, Dave and I think it should be talk about enough.
Players we don't talk about enough instead of players we don't talk enough about.
Heath, what's your vote?
I just know that whatever suggestions I make we're going to qualify.
why it's not quite the right thing.
I'll say talk about enough.
Good.
Okay, three to one.
Sorry, Jamie.
Also, yeah, so in the chat right now,
if you have any suggestions of players,
we don't talk about enough.
I see a Barkley one there.
We talked about him a few weeks ago
on the, like, what went wrong episode.
Jackson Dart, that's not bad.
Chase Brown, yeah, right.
Jamie, how do you not criticize or like comment
on what looks like an ironing board
that Heath is sitting on,
the pink and white it's the reason that my my mother's day was a nine and a half and not a
tin what happened i uh got a little sunburn oh so i use that to keep the uh coconut
oil off the chair oh okay that's just a towel yes um all right see if we get any any good
ironing board too got it well doesn't it look like an ironing board who here has an ironing board
in their house.
I have an ironing board.
You don't have one?
It doesn't look like a towel.
No.
But the shape of this chair is ironing board shaped.
It's like a...
Do that with your hands again?
That's the shape of your ironing board.
I'll do the YMCA.
I do the A.
The YMCA.
All right.
I don't know if we got any...
Tell me you've never ironed in your life.
Oh, the jokes I would make if this was after hours.
Jalen Waddle.
Do you think Jailen Wattel?
Waddle is a lot. We just talked about Waddle a lot. We just talked about him.
Yeah. RJ Harvey. All right. RJ Harvey's a good one.
Tony Pollard. Is that a good one?
Yeah. Yeah. Okay. I'm going to put these in the notes. So are we doing Jackson DART?
Sure. Jackson Dart.
You know who we don't talk about much is Derek Henry.
We don't talk about Derek Henry. That is great. Derek Henry, Jackson Dart.
DeAndre Swift, great one. Tony Pollard.
and then who is the oh, Breece Hall.
Breece Hall is a must.
Okay, so that's mostly running back.
So let's get some non-running backs in here who we're going to talk about.
This is setting up to be an awesome episode.
Isaac Tesla, yes, exactly.
How about Amon-Ross St. Brown?
Sure.
Okay, we'll do Amman-Ross, St. Brown.
And we'll do one more.
Nico?
Yeah, sure.
Nico Collins.
Excellent.
That's eight.
Perfect.
All right, we'll talk to you on Wednesday with eight players
that we don't talk enough about enough.
on fantasy football today.
Thanks for watching this,
and everybody will see you next time.
