Bonus pod, big news today.
Will Fuller going to the Dolphins,
Kenyon Drake going to the Raiders.
It's Adam, Jamie, and Heath here on Fantasy Football Today.
So Kenyon Drake gets a two-year deal,
Will Fuller a one-year deal,
and he will serve a one-game suspension to start the season.
Heath, which is bigger news to you,
the Drake signing or the Fuller signing?
I thought I was coming on a Kyle Rudolph podcast,
but I think the bigger news is,
I guess it's probably fuller.
I do.
The Drake news is just bad news all around.
At least there's some positivity to the fuller news.
Yeah.
Jamie,
how about you?
Which is the Rudolph news as Heath mentioned,
or the fuller news of the Drake news.
What's the biggest item here?
Mitchell Trubisky news.
What are you talking about?
Oh,
to the bills.
That's right.
Handcuff.
Team QB.
I mean,
they both kind of stink,
to be honest with you.
Fuller does have more upside,
but this is not the best destination for him.
And Drake stinks.
This is terrible.
Drake stinks like he has no fantasy value.
Well,
he has fantasy value,
but he loses fantasy value.
I mean, this was, it's bad for Josh value, but he loses fantasy value. I mean,
this was,
uh,
it's bad for Josh Jacobs is bad for Drake.
You know,
not that Drake,
I think had many options to be a featured guy,
but he could have been now he's going to be in a,
in a 50,
50 split.
That's what you think.
You think it's going to be a 50,
50 split.
Yeah.
I don't think this is,
he's going in just to be a backup.
I think he's going into play.
Heath,
what are you going to, what are you going to project to be a backup. I think he's going into play. Heath, what are you going to, what are you going to project?
Oh, I, I think he's going into play.
Um, I, I can, I, it does sound like the Raiders want to use Kenyon Drake a lot in the passing game, which, um, is bad news for Drake or Jacobs who finally got 45 targets last year.
Um, I, I wouldn't say 50, 50, but let's see. There were 115 carries and 44 targets
that went to Devante Booker and Jalen Richard last year.
Those are scrubs.
I would expect he's going to get slightly more than that.
Josh Jacobs got the lion's share of the work. He had 273 carries in 15 games.
Devontae Booker had 93 carries.
16 of them came in one game without Josh Jacobs.
So if we had 273 carries in 15 games for Jacobs,
how many are you thinking this year, guys?
215 to 220, if he's healthy.
Yeah, I think a very first guess came
out at
252.
I'll take the under for sure.
It's not 50-50.
I didn't know what you meant by 50-50.
Not 50-50 in terms of their carries.
I think it's 50-50 in terms of what their playing
time is going to be close to that.
Drake is going to be on most passing down situations.
Drake is going to get more carries than any of the other backups that they had before.
This is bad news for both these guys.
So Josh Jacobs, top 24 pick?
Or is he a third round guy now?
He's a fourth round guy for me.
Fourth round guy.
Okay.
Heath?
Not a top 24 pick.
I think I'd probably still lean third round but i like
fourth round i think is um they just lost their entire offensive line that's true hey they got
incognito they just lost their entire offensive line is uh miles sanders over josh jacobs that's
not even close jk dobbins not close for. I will still probably take Jacobs over Dobbins.
Dobbins in non-PPR, Jacobs in PPR.
So, Jamie, who are you ranking Jacobs with?
I put him behind Melvin Gordon.
And so he's ahead of David Johnson for me.
Okay.
Let's talk about Will Fuller now.
Where are we going to be ranking him? Heath?
Will Fuller to the Dolphins. It's funny.
I didn't hardly move him. In my
Dynasty worksheet, I keep a point
projection for free agents just
because I don't actually have a projection, and I'd put
210 in for him, and I think
the first run I came up with was
206 PPR fantasy
points, so I've got him at wide receiver
33.
There's upside beyond that, but he's not going to play week one. You probably
can't count on him playing all 15 games
after that. He's
an upside boomer bust number
three wide receiver. No respect.
Didn't I just tell you that he's the best wide
receiver in football? Were you listening? Yeah, you know what's going to be
great is this is hopefully a precursor to
trading for Deshaun Watson. That would change everything.
That would be the hope. Look, he's going to be great is this is hopefully a precursor to trading for Deshaun Watson. That would be the hope.
Look, he's going to a situation where he's,
he's probably better than Devante Parker.
But that doesn't mean he's going to get more targets than Devante Parker or
have better production than Parker.
And they're not done.
They're going to probably draft a receiver.
So this is not a great landing spot for him by any stretch.
And the quarterback, as we saw last year,
has a lot of room to grow.
I hope he does.
This is a big signing to help him get there.
But this isn't the type of quarterback
that's going to make Will Fuller better.
I was sort of hoping for Juju Smith-Suster to end up here.
I thought he might be a better fit for Tua Tungavailoa
than Will Fuller.
Okay, so would you guys rather have Will Fuller
or let's say Odell Beckham?
Fuller or Beckham?
Fuller.
If Beckham's healthy, I'll take Beckham.
How about Curtis Samuel or Will Fuller?
Fuller.
Samuel Heath?
Samuel.
This is very productive.
Okay.
We're waiting for the dominoes to fall here.
Are you getting excited about Tua Tungvaluwa, Jamie?
I mean, if you expect them to add a wide receiver,
hey, it could be with the third overall pick
or maybe they trade back a little bit.
But if they get one of those big three wide receivers,
then all of a sudden it looks like a pretty interesting receiving core.
What do you think about Tua?
Then he improves.
Yeah, and I think he will.
Again, I think Tua's got a lot to show, clearly,
but it's not fair to compare him to Burrow or Herbert, mostly Herbert.
He's going to get a full offseason.
He's going to hopefully get a guy that he potentially is familiar with,
if it's Devontae Smith or maybe Waddle.
So they've made two significant moves today.
They also got their center and they upgraded there.
You know, so this is an offensive line that will be better.
You know, I think they're going to add another running back.
So that running game will be better.
So they're putting pieces around it.
You know, it's not like what the Bills did with Josh Allen quite yet,
but there was a building process to that.
It started with John Brown and Cole Beasley.
It ended up with Stefan Diggs and you've seen the growth.
So can Tua have those type of strides?
Maybe not to the same heights, but those type of improvements?
I hope so.
You know, so I think Tua's got a chance to be in the streaming conversation,
a guy that you'll take with a second pick, a second quarterback,
if your rosters are deep enough and you want to carry two.
But he's not going to be a starting fantasy quarterback.
Like I'm not moving him ahead of Ryan Fitzpatrick, for example.
You know, you want to talk about guys that I think have more upside. I think Fitzpatrick has more upside, but, you know, Tua's not going to be a starting fantasy quarterback. I'm not moving him ahead of Ryan Fitzpatrick, for example. You want to talk about guys that I think have more upside.
I think Fitzpatrick has more upside.
But Tua's not going to be far behind.
Heath, last question.
What do you want to see the Cardinals do at running back?
And do you believe that Chase Edmonds could really be a workhorse as the Cardinals,
I think it was Cliff Kingsbury, said he thought that he could be.
But I'm not sure that the evidence is there to say that he can.
What do you want to see at running back?
What do you think about Edmonds?
I think at this point what I might hope for
is something like what the Chargers are doing,
where you have Austin Eckler's not going to be a 300-touch guy
and maybe not by definition a workhorse,
but you get Edmonds in a situation where he could see
four or five targets a game
and maybe handle the ball 10,
10 to 12 times in the running game.
And they can add a plotter,
a short yardage back to go with him.
That,
that would be my preference,
but they could also just go at it.
And there's not been a big rush to go add the other running backs.
So maybe Chris Carson or someone sees this and lowers their demand and ends
up in Arizona.
That's Heath and Jamie.
I'm Adam.
Thanks for tuning in, everybody.
Hopefully, we'll have another bonus podcast for you soon.
Talk to you then.
