happens on Friday, youtube.com slash the fantasy footballers to watch the show, to see what Hughes Jason selects for his new found broader t-shirt variety.
It's not all black.
It's not all black.
A lot of it's close to black.
You were in a tan, dare I say, nearly topless colored.
Skin color, yeah.
Mistakes have been made.
This is all new to me.
Now you don't even know what these colors existed.
I thought only black shirts were allowed. All right. So quick question of the day. What
is your favorite NFL draft memory? It can be fantasy wise. You could just be whatever.
Maybe it's recency bias. I don't know. It was really fun. But it, I mean, it's, it was an incredible moment
last year when Kyle, the Atlanta Falcons fan flew to Arizona to watch the draft with us
and watch his team draft Michael Pinnix with a top 10 selection after having just given
Kirk Cousins that contract and just being there for the shared moment of
shame and laughter. It was so much fun.
It was so wild, man.
And full circle now where it's like, that was probably the right thing to do.
Well, yeah, the full circle is you were going to find out, you were like, is the signing
of Kirk Cousins bad or is the drafting of Pennex as bad?
Because they both can't be good things, in my opinion.
And the signing of Kurt Cousins
looks like an absolute disaster.
If you're Nico Harrison of the Dallas Mavericks,
you are hoping that your trade of Luca Donjic
somehow feels slightly more like
the Michael Peninnock's selection
does now, a year from now.
But to me that was the highlight of recent draft history.
It was glorious.
I do remember Jason being extremely excited for Josh Rosen at one point in time.
Oh yeah, that was great.
That memory did come to mind.
Did it? Yeah.
For sure.
Yeah.
Did you have a jersey?
I don't think I ever got a jersey.
Maybe you just wore your Max Hall jersey.
Maybe.
All right, Mike, do you have one?
I mean, sticking with Arizona, years and years and years ago,
there was a man who I don't think any of us
had ever heard of.
And then he goes to the combine and keeps running these challenges and you're like holy crap did
you see this guy's vert did you see this guy's broad jump you see his 40 at that
size it was unbelievable and then the Arizona Cardinals drafted David Johnson
in the third round and then the meme was born. He was a hit. I mean, his career was short, but it was definitely an absolute fire pick for a couple of years there.
And it was a great time for the show, great time for everyone who had that RB1 season with David Johnson. It's funny because players can be so good, even in a short period of time,
where they dominate more of the fantasy football lore
than they even did in the National Football League.
And David Johnson was one of those players.
Whenever you enter that number one overall pick category
for any period of time, it's memorialized
in fantasy football players' minds for sure.
So that's a good one.
All right, let's talk some news.
News and notes from around the league.
All right, the Jets are picking up the fifth year option
on wide receiver Garrett Wilson.
Yep, he should get signed too.
There was more talk.
I actually didn't see this update. The Athletics reporting that there has, quote,
certainly been dialogue with other teams about Mark Andrews.
Andy, you had tweeted out kind of the season by season.
The last four years.
It was actually mind-blowing to me.
Yeah, the last four seasons of Mark Andrews
and his receptions per game dropping from 6.3 to 4.9
to 4.5 to 3.2.
And his yards per game, back in 2021, 80 yards per game,
then down to 56, down to 54, down to 56 down to 54 down to 39 last year
3.2 receptions a game for 39 yards. He had 11 touchdowns, which really you know for fantasy bailed him out
But it's it's been a trajectory
Yeah
I mean
This is your moment if you if you want value for Mark Andrews and you don't want to go on the ride again in Dynasty
I think you I think he has
value right now.
It's still a big name and it's coming off of a season with a good fantasy finish.
So if you pay attention to the receptions and the yards per game, you know the trajectory,
but the touchdowns give you a moment here.
And it might be literally right this moment because he could get traded at the draft.
And there's nowhere in my opinion that Mark
Andrews goes in is better. Oh, I can see an upgraded path for him if he were to go to say the Chargers and
Go with Justin Herbert. I think that would be a wonderful situation for him
Yeah, I mean it's it's um
It's coming to the end
It'll just be do we get another year or two of something relevant from him. What do we got about Kirk Cousins? What are we hearing about the Kirk Cousins rumors, Mike?
Shifty's out there dropping some bombs for us because the draft's coming up and so we're getting that hot tea right now. And it's, as of right now, the Falcons are aiming for the other team,
wherever Kirk gets traded to, for them to take on the remainder of Kirk Cousins guarantees.
That has been the, like that's the biggest part of the deal for me.
It's not really the draft compensation.
It's will a team take on all the money
for a player that has been benched.
The Falcons are in a really tough situation.
They've already said, he's our backup quarterback.
Michael Pennex will be the starter
for the beginning of the season,
which, I mean, that has its pluses and minuses too.
You get to the entire off
season. You don't have to do a quarterback battle. You just go into all camps and Penex gets all the
reps. But now all teams know that this is your backup and you're paying that backup so, so much
money. He's just killing your cap. But is someone willing to take on last year's Kirk with that
amount of money? I think there's very, very few teams that would be willing to even trade for him and then
add in the money bit it's pretty tough. You still think he's going to the Browns
Andy? Yeah and you think it's already done? I think he's going to the Browns.
All right. I think he's gonna play for the Browns and I think they'll have
Travis Hunter as another weapon in that offense. I can agree with that part.
And who knows maybe Nick Chububb even comes back to town.
I would not be surprised if Chubb came back
on a one-year deal.
There is some rumors today about Brock Purdy
and them making progress towards a deal.
He doesn't have one yet.
There were rumors about the Giants potentially trading up
for Jackson Dart in the first round someplace. Jackson Dart is gonna be so is gonna be so entertaining
to watch what happens. The game of chicken of like once the Saints are on
the clock it's gonna be it's gonna be gonna feel real tense. And then I want to
mention this one because I think it's a more interesting discussion because the
whole universe has been just saying Ashton Gentry's name alongside the Raiders and I've
been feeling like maybe the Raiders are not as glued in on Gentry as some people think
and he and they're teasing that pick for a trade-up from someone behind them.
But then Daniel Jeremiah who's outstanding from NFL.com he came out and here's the quote about Ash and Gentie
it feels like Jacksonville to me which Jacksonville is at five right and so
what you know he said it would be a statement picked for Jacksonville Jags
are not committed to ETN long term in his mind. What about team? And they need to get Trevor Lawrence up and running
to justify that extension. The team, you know, that's kind of like the Falcons going pits in
the first, you know, six picks of the draft to me. It's a very loud offensive selection that has high risk high reward. Yeah I hope that
clearer heads prevail because I think that like even the Raiders which is like
if you go to you know mock draft database it's like 50% of mocks coming
in right now or it's Ashton Gentry to the Raiders and you're like look what
look what Saquon did for the Eagles. Look what Henry did for the Baltimore Ravens.
Those were Super Bowl teams.
Those were Super Bowl contending teams.
My example would be, look what the Giants
did with Saquon Barkley.
They spent the number two overall pick
on this guy who was awesome, but a running back by himself.
But you can't change the destiny of your team,
is how I view football.
No, I think it's an interesting.
He didn't turn Daniel Jones into a better weapon
because you're not.
But they didn't screw that pick up either.
No, no, no, they didn't.
Which it's easy to do.
I mean, it's easy to screw your first.
I mean, Daniel Jones was a screwed up first round pick.
Yes.
If you have the choice to pick.
Like, Gentie can't fail at the NFL level.
I would agree with that.
And so while team philosophy wisewise, I get that.
It makes sense.
I mean, another example would be like, I mean, Zeke was a foundational pick for Dallas and
it changed the trajectory of their team.
But they had the offensive line was already ready for Zeke.
Yeah, yeah.
No, look, you're not screwing the pickup with Gentie.
That's all I'm saying. You can't screw it up.
In terms of the player performing for your team,
I tend to agree with that.
You do screw up value.
Jackson Dahl, I like him.
Could be a complete failure of a pick.
But it's like, salary-wise, if Gentie goes,
if he goes five or six, he's already
one of the highest paid running backs in the league.
So that's, wow, I'm like, I agree with you, I don't think he can fail.
He still is a player who hasn't taken a snap in the NFL, and
you're making him one of the highest paid at the running back position.
It's also hard to invest in a running back that high when you have already
invested in a first round running back.
You've got Travis ETN.
That wasn't this crew though.
Sure, but I'm just saying they have
ETN and they've got tank Bigsby, you know, you look at the Raiders. It's like I
Mean they really need
Don't you have a dynasty team that has ETN and Mark Andrews on it? I do. Oh, no
You might want to send those guys out on a few offers
Quickly. Yeah, dude, if you give me your third, I will take ETN.
Oh, that is, I'm going to consider this.
I'll have to drop somebody off of my team.
Trade offer here, you'd send ETN in a third.
Mike, you would send nothing.
You would have to drop.
Yeah.
But you would have to take the hit of dropping one of your bench.
I'll tell you what I'm going to drop and I'll send it back.
Okay.
Perfect.
Interesting, intriguing offer. Probably you
could do better. I think so. I'm going to hold off until after the draft because I don't
think I'm getting anything for him now and I'm hoping he does. Oh man. Genty to the jegs.
Pick five. It'll be a new all-time draft moment just watching Jason's evaporating ETN. You
got to trade ETN then. You better have something lined up to get you just anything back
What six is he?
Remind me of ETNs contract situation. Well, he was a fifth year option last year
Are they he's in the final year of his deal now? Yeah, I mean it's starting to make sense man
Talk about identity change for that team
starting to make sense, man. Talk about identity change for that team.
I think that the number one thing you could say
the last two years is actually that they didn't have
a working running game.
If they were to take Gentie at five,
which right now the betting odds,
he is tied as the favorite.
I don't know that we've ever seen someone's fantasy value
evaporate more drastically and quickly than Travis ETM.
He was a blue chip, foundational dynasty.
First round running back.
RB3 in fantasy.
Two years ago, the running back three.
Not just the prospect, he delivered an RB3 season.
Right, not his draft, he wasn't drafted as the RB3. He finished as the RB3.
And then it's like never relevant again. He's young on his rookie context.
Yeah, I was saying, it's not Phillip Lindsay. It's not Steve Slayton.
Yeah, it's a first round pick.
It's a first round pick.
And he didn't just miss half the season which I look I still think I last year it's hard to argue that he looked good but the year he
finished RB three that was elite electric stuff that he had so yeah to
see somebody go he would be worth negative oh yeah I mean I genuinely
don't have a running back it's crazy 26. That's crazy. So, Gentie, why don't you just not.
Scooch on back to Vegas.
Yeah, let's not go Duval.
All right, we'll take a break and we'll jump into an ADP price
check segment. You better check yourself before you wreck yourself.
All right, this should be fun.
We are going to bring them some names.
We are going to guess their current ADP, which is average draft position on sleeper. And just, you know, when you guess where players are going,
it's a way of revealing what you think about those players. And so we'll each
get a different gauge of what one another thinks, starting with Brock Bowers.
Brock. Brock. Brock. Brock. Brock. How did this happen? I accidentally said Brock Bowers instead of Brock Bowers. Brock. Brock. Brock. Brock. Brock. How? Brock. How did this happen?
I accidentally said Brock Bowers instead of Brock.
It was more rhetorical.
But I'm saying on this show, the greatness that is Brock
Bowers.
That's the juxtaposition of the student.
Yeah.
What's his nickname?
Well, that's a chicken sound.
You say his name like a chicken says.
Was he a coward?
No, no, no.
He's great.
He's awesome.
He's great.
Brock.
Brock.
Brock. Brock Bowers. That's the awesome rock rock Bowers that's that so
I feel like that's better rock rock rock rock rock all right guess the ADP of
Brock Bowers embarrassing who wants to start he was the tight end one guess the
ADP tied in one last year 112 receptions he feels really easy. He's got to be Early second round. I would have said 202. I'll go
203 Mike. Oh, don't you do me dirty Mike
Myself in a real sandwichable position
I was 201 was what first popped into my hands. Fantastic. So I'll stick with 201. You're the meat sandwich.
If he had,
I've been called worse.
By the way, it's 204.
So if Mike had just done,
If he had just done what you told him not to do,
you would have nailed it.
So is he worth that pick?
I mean, I think so too.
Next player.
I mean, Brock Bowers, last year, no quarterback, 153 targets, dominated as a rookie.
He's 22.
I mean, man.
Where did he go in the drafts last year, eighth round?
Something like that.
Boy, I wish it had been me.
I wish I had made that pick.
Yeah, I mean, all of his stats are incredible
and he has room to go north from a touchdown perspective.
So I talked about recently the fact that like,
too much has been made about,
well, he didn't have a quarterback that could, you know,
throw him an accurate ball, but he did.
You know, he caught, you know, 72% of his passes.
That's a great completion percentage.
The thing that the quarterback he had couldn't do
is in the shortened field in the red zone
is throw touchdowns.
Six total targets inside the 10.
Yeah, and so that's what I expect to be able to go north
while retaining 130 plus targets at a good catch rate,
breaking tackles, doing amazing things things so is he worth it yeah I think him and and Trey McBride in the
second round I will have a hard time passing those two up. Let me give you
your opportunity cost because these are the players going like pretty close to
right after Bowers we're talking about the sleeper ADP. So Tyreek Hill, I think for Jason that's an easy,
Brock Bowers.
JSN.
Bok?
Oh.
How many boks?
Trey McBride, which are you Bowers?
I actually, I haven't stated them out yet,
but I presume I'll be Trey McBride ahead of Brock Bowers,
but they are in the exact same tier to me.
And then the last one that you would even think about would be Ladd or T. Higgins.
Yeah that's Brock.
I think Brock Bowers is going to be pretty cemented where he is and he'll be drafted
on a lot of my teams.
It is a very safe selection.
When you talk about players that have gone around the 204
in recent years, there's been a lot of the Drake London's
and the Garrett Wilsons and the players
that you're hoping have a big season.
And it's like, or you take the guy that just machine-like
outperforms your opposing teams tight end every week.
On he, to look at his stats a little bit deeper,
his targets per route run, same as Trey McBride.
His target share overall is the same as Nico Collins.
His first read target share is the same as Mike Evans.
His first down per route run is the same as Justin Jefferson.
And his YAC was the same as C.D. Lamb.
And this was a tight end on a bad bad team. First
time playing at the NFL level. He is he he's different. Interesting name being
brought up here our second ADP price check maybe the fact that I even said it
that way reveals a lot about the view of this player right now. Tyrone Tracy of the Giants. I mean if you watched
him play, he had a ton of impressive plays. He was a top 25 wide out as a rookie.
Running back.
Yep. He did catch 38 passes, but yes he's a running back. The first four weeks he barely
even got any work. So this was a pretty impressive run for Tyrone Tracy and yet it feels like, I don't know, to me it feels like no one's excited about it. Yeah, because you're all
waiting, you're waiting for the shoe. Right. Which is for the draft. Like if we get out of the draft
it, I think people will look at that Tracy a lot different, but as of right now the Giants have had
like the information we have today Giants have had four top 30 visits at the running back position. Judkins, Caleb Johnson, Scadaboo, and Olly
Gordon. And then we talked about this a little bit on the Dynasty podcast, but Kyle the Borgogons
did some deep diving and he found that when teams use three or more, top 30 visits on a running back,
which the Giants have done, you see a running back drafted by that team in the first three
rounds 64% of the time.
If you go to the fourth round, now you're talking 80%.
So this team is-
They're looking for another piece.
Just based on history, they will be drafting a running back.
The historical good bet to make would be in the first three rounds
Yeah, you know you look at the guys they're bringing in Judkins and scatter
They're looking at more like a first second down a big-bodied banger the Tyrone Tracy was
very
Utilized in the in the receiving game, so I think they view him as
You know that change of pace down change of pace back
So yeah, I mean where we where are we thinking he is ADP wise right now?
Oh, I
would guess I
Would guess I
Don't want to go for no you got to go first cuz you 803 I
Think he's above that. I think I think he's early seventh round
Mmm, I'll go 701 and you were Andy were what oh three. Oh
702 oh
Got him. I'll get you this time. Let's see RB 21 right now six away
Oh, you went on the wrong side again Mike.. I win again. I was gonna guess way later.
It was funny.
I almost went ninth round,
but I'm thinking about where I think I'll end up
more than where he would be today.
Because right now, I mean look, 64% chance,
that's a little bit above 50-50
that they go in and bring somebody in
that would make a huge impact.
He still has the potential to be very valuable on the team
and a starting running back is probably not going
outside the top six rounds until a compliment comes in there.
Now if Scataboo ends up as a giant,
how are you gonna view Tracy?
I mean it's complimentary third down back.
Dead.
Oh, that's one way.
Wherever Scataboo goes, nothing but a cloud of dust and just bodies left in his wake
That's right. That's right Mike
We gotta make this thing happen
The dudes a beast you you're saying you want scataboo to dominate at the NFL level
Think we just want him to keep doing what he's done his entire life
His entire life from high school college just dominate as a running back
Against all odds yeah, yeah, he by the way Devon Singletary still on the roster
wait
That's
Guy yeah, man.
Okay, next name on the list, Chris Olavi!
Chris Olavi, going into
year four, finishes
in his career,
25 as a rookie,
19 as a sophomore,
93 last year, missing half
the season, concussion issues,
quarterback that might not want to play for the team
The concussion issues will always be hanging over all the lobby at this point at least for especially Derek cars the quarterback
For the couple years yet when he plays is a very talented
contributor he's entering kind of a
Terry McClory and DJ Moore stage of his career where you know how good he
is but he never delivers for fantasy. Yeah he never delivers on the promise I
mean he has on a per game basis been very very good. He's an AR consistency score.
Yeah. So he's you know he's obviously very very good. He just it's a risk he's
a risky player with a lot of upside. That's still young
ADP wise
I'll let you guess first this time Jay
Okay, so where do you think he's going right now? I I think he's
You he can't drop too far. He's too good to drop too far
But obviously he's not gonna go in the top 10 wide receivers probably not even the top 15. So I'm gonna say he's
Fourth round smack dab middle for oh, I'll go six. I'm gonna go
305 I was gonna go 308. Okay. So there you go. He is going at 410
For 10 or 10 wide receiver 24. I so I have been living the chris olave
experience you know our
Army like when you traded like a pick in an Addison away. Yes
Thank you Mike picks and
That's a plural s for ch's a plural S. For Chris Olave.
I invested heavily and it feels really bad.
So wait, what's going on with your dynasty team, man?
I know.
ETN, Andrews, Olave?
Don't forget Breeze Hall.
They are dying.
Yeah.
Your team is like, they pick up the wrong...
Your team is the Wizard of Oz, man.
It's this big scary machine,
but in the back is just this lumbering
Oph who's operating on the board.
It's not like we're naming worthless players here.
No.
We're naming the running back three from two years ago.
Breeze Hall, everyone wanted.
Chris Olave, unbelievable.
Mark Andrews, a top five tight end.
They picked up the wrong cup from Indiana Jones
and passed it to one another.
Shows poorly.
This is the one for sure, guys.
I got to look at the rest of my roster,
see who else is about to fall apart.
Good thing you traded for Drake London,
because you had Waddle.
Yes, I had Waddle.
Oh, man.
So 410 is Chris Olave.
Going right around him just before him
would be Rashid Rice and Courtland Sutton.
I would take Olave all day at that spot
because it's far enough down the draft board with enough
reward where basically you know that if he's on the field,
he's going to outperform that spot to me. Now me now it doesn't mean he's gonna be a top eight
wide receiver but he's outperforming wide receiver 24 if he's just healthy
yes so that's a you know fool me twice situation you could you could end up
with a player that look one concussion for crystal of it and he's missing
multiple weeks.
This is not gonna be a one week off thing.
No, I mean, at this point,
I fear that a concussion is a career ender.
Like that's how it feels having him in dynasty.
So I didn't think he would be, you know,
in the third round when there's that much risk
at any moment. I wanna see you offer
Andrews, Etienne, and Olave in a single deal to somebody.
Mike. So put something together.
Jamar Chase.
Oh no.
No.
Are you sure?
All three.
Three for one special.
No, I'm very sure on that.
Three for one, you're gonna have to give them some picks
and more players.
Don't waste your time.
Yeah, I mean, the quarterback situation is up in the air.
I mean, you could have a rookie.
Or a, I mean, the Derek Carr situation. I don air. I mean, you could have a rookie. Or I mean, the Derek Carr situation.
I don't know if we've talked about it enough.
It's been up on the show, but it is really weird
what's going on of Derek Carr.
I mean, news coming out that Derek Carr may
have to miss the season from his shoulder injury.
Then you got reports of, hey, Derek Carr he's there they're letting
this out because they don't like what's going on with the Saints even though the
the Saints gave him just so much money and so yeah like what's going if it's
not a rookie then who is it I mean like who's on the roster right now? Kyle's just Spencer Rattler?
Yeah, it's Rattler.
Oh, and Hanus.
Yes, Hanus is.
That's a great one to remember every time.
I'll forget tomorrow and then I'll remember
and I'll go, oh yeah, it's Hanus.
Next, any-
Which isn't actually his real name, by the way.
What's his real name?
Haner.
Oh yeah.
His name is
not actually heinous yeah all right Brian Robinson jr. ADP price check very
very good team we talked at our running back ranking,
our early running back ranking show from last week,
how important being on a winning team is.
And I think last year at Times you saw
why it was so valuable for Brian Robinson in this offense.
He ended up at RB 29, but he only played 14 games.
There was a time at the beginning of the season
where this was like a top running back.
Yeah, I mean, he was scoring the first seven weeks.
He was 15.4 fantasy points per game.
Looked great on a great offense.
But I've seen, I don't know his ADP, but I've seen him in ADP lists very late.
I imagine he's a late fourth, early fifth.
Oh no.
He's got to be ahead of, I mean you mean you gotta put him ahead of Tyrone Tracy.
No, no, no.
He is, when I've been looking through ADP,
just you know, doing whatever stat stocks we're making,
he always sticks out to me as one of my favorite picks.
It's like, I think he's in the eighth round.
Well I would imagine an underdog,
it would be, he's like the least desirable player.
So I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go 8-0-1.
I'm gonna say 5-0-1.
I will go...
I'm gonna put him in the seventh.
So behind Tyrone Tracy.
Yeah, I'll go 7-0-3.
People don't wanna...
What was Tracy?
Six, 10, was it?
Yeah, so the... Tracy was 6? Yeah so the.
Tracy was 608.
So yeah I'll put them behind Tracy and they,
Washington has had three top 30 visits with the running back
or with running backs and then they also did a private
workout with Bashal Tutin.
So like that doesn't count into the top 30.
That's gonna be such a fun one.
Tutin?
Tutin.
I mean we're gonna do some good work with that.
We need.
That's not on us.
No, we don't.
You know what I mean?
We get dealt the cards, we gotta play the cards.
Yeah, his name is Tootin.
I don't get to pick new cards.
This is just what we do, man.
And when we got.
My lip curled when you said his name.
We got aces right out the gate, boys.
With tootin'.
Brian Robinson's at 710.
That's his ADP.
I win again!
D, what'd you go with?
801.
Oh, you went over, Price is right.
Oh, is that the rules?
Yeah.
710 is, you know, is his dead zone problems.
Brian Robinson isn't gonna get all the work.
He is going to score some.
He was a low end RB1 through the first seven weeks
and got a little banged up.
I mean, if they don't have anybody, he's going up, right?
He's very, very unsexy.
I expect that they will draft someone,
but I think it's important when I look at the lists
of players he is around,
he's usually around other nebulous players in backfields
that you don't really know who's the guy,
but they're on terrible teams.
They can hand the ball to Debo.
This is a team that's going to score a lot of points.
I just feel like, I think Brian Robinson, Austin Eckler,
and some Debo mixed in is enough at running back
for this team to contribute their picks elsewhere.
But if they draft somebody, you're
going to be really doubtful of Brian Robinson's ability
to contribute.
Yes.
And he's not generally the kind of guy
that gives you humongous weeks.
He's so strange, because you can have,
like week two was the Giants, where
he had a big 40 yard run.
He was 17 for 133 yards on the ground.
That's a 7.8 yards per carry.
And you're just like, it's happening.
It's happening for Brian Robinson.
And then the next week, 16 carries for 33 yards
against the Cincinnati Bengals.
I've always liked Robinson just a little bit more
than other people.
And I have always liked him just a little bit less.
Yeah, so I mean, I just think he's one of those players
that plays really hard, a scattaboo, if you will.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Put scattaboo in Washington, see what happens.
Yeah, well.
Cash those Super Bowl right now.
We might, he's 26th in yards per carry, 4.27.
34th in miss tackle rate, 30th in rush success rate among 54 qualifying
RBs. This is just, this is like you've got to run it back.
He thumps. He's big and he-
If you take the default running back in Madden, that feels like Brian Robinson.
Yeah. That's very, and I think that's, it's like a poor man's Nagi.
Yeah, okay.
You know? Sure. And Nagi is not someone that is exciting.
A lot of people know Nagi's a poor man's
Bija, something else.
He's a poor man's Lindale White.
Oh, come now.
All right. Let's take a break and we'll bring up a player. I am.
I don't know. I might be falling I might be falling for him and it's probably stupid
All right ADP price check on
early offseason darling a player I think I might
Early offseason darling a player I think I might be falling for Roma Dunze of the Chicago Bears
Kenan Allen no longer a part of this offensive Dunze last year a rookie
Caleb the offensive line troubles. We've got a new head coach I think this is the year Roma Dunze takes a huge leap forward and I brought it up. I mean it
There are years with Roma Dunze the talent where he's by far the number one receiver
drafted.
If he was in this draft, he's ahead of McMillan.
He is a top 10 pick.
So we'll see what year two brings.
Year one, 54 for 734 and 3 that that's not that bad no it's not
it's not that bad especially when a hundred plus targets went to Keenan
Allen and Caleb Williams forgot how to play football 50% of the time I think
Roma doomsday is a probably gonna be a really good pick this year because I
don't think people are drafting him assuming success they're drafting him hoping for success
and so which is a sweet spot for fantasy taking a chance on certain players now
where do you think he's going ADP wise I I would guess fifth or sixth round is
the top of my head fifth round I think and and if we you know we game of fight
everything because we're competitive and we just like winning but I'm sitting here looking at
How these players were picked out and I'm like, okay, we've got we've got a seventh rounder
We got a fourth rounder. I haven't heard a fifth rounder yet. He's gotta be in the fifth. I'm gonna say
506
All right, I will go five oh two
I will go five oh two five oh seven oh we are way off oh no we are way off right now is it going later um it is but I don't know if I trust it 701 yeah I
win again I mean I I don't think he won't go that's not where he's gonna go in August
But it does show you maybe the apprehension right now. Yeah, I would say I'm
I'm skeptical. I mean give me give me players in the fifth round at wide receiver
Not the ones going around him at 701 but players in the fifth round. Yeah, okay, you got it
DK Metcalf Devante Smith. Yeah, okay, you got it. Uh, DK Metcalf.
Devontae Smith.
Yeah, all those guys are going ahead of Adunze.
Uh, Chris Godwin.
Probably ahead.
Jordan Addison.
Dude, Roman Adunze is gonna end up on my guy.
Mmm.
And it's not, it's against, it's gonna be against my will.
Ha!
Mmm.
Some players just, some players...
Mmm, not sure he can.
Yeah, no.
Have you seen the board?
Have you seen the board, Andy?
What did you do?
I don't know.
I didn't write anything on the board.
I'm just saying, I don't.
There's marker up on the whiteboard.
I don't know.
It's been there for, I saw it happen.
It was a while ago.
Yeah, it's been there for a while.
What the heck are you talking about?
I'm just saying, I don't think you're gonna get it.
I said on the show.
Yeah, but he said it with the board. The is the rules the board is always in the my guy
I don't know what you're talking about. I mean, it's not Mike
Well, I mean, you know don't look at the board
Go look at the board. See what the board says
We send a spy. Okay, Jeremy's gonna go Jeremy. Jeremy will go and he'll report back. All right
Anyways, talk more about my dude. I mean cuz look there's there's no way that we could have gotten that on the board
Since you just said I think he'll be a my guy
Right that had there'll be a magic trick of of incredible proportions unless Jeremy's writing it on the board right now
That's a fair
I Think he's gonna snap a picture and
share it on the show. Okay. All right. Oh come on man. I hate this guy. Roma
Duzai sucks. But like I am I'm hesitant of Rome. All those names. Well DK Metcalf
is gonna be tough. But all those guys I would have taken in front of Rome and
Well, the rookie season wasn't bad. It's just I
Don't know you want to see more than wide receiver 46
finish on the gear of the the guys who
Like we haven't let's see top 10 wide receivers with 100 plus targets as a rookie
Like we haven't let's see top 10 wide receivers with 100 plus targets as a rookie
Rome is the only one who is in the 40s and the lowest finish of guys with 100 targets That would be Drake London at 30 before Rome did it this past year
I mean that it's a and then London season and then London broke out and was was two years later sure
But this was not the next year though
You look at what the offensive line has how that's changed here in Chicago
Ben Johnson coming in the departure of other wider shoes. I think wrong. Yes, the externals should
Point to Roma doons a having a good season. I agree with that
He's going to be under drafted
You know, it's funny because a lot of the picture. Yeah a lot of a lot of comparisons were made rightly or wrongly
Between him and JSN as far as he went to a team where there were other wide receivers that he was behind
You know JSN was drafted
Behind DK Metcalf and Tyler locket whereas Rome came in and you had Keenan Allen and DJ more there already
And then you also had the Shane Waldron, you know, office of coordinator thing.
But JSN this last year was a top 10 wide receiver.
So Rome is just what a great pick.
Just to be clear, he's not on your dynasty team, right?
So we safe?
Yes.
Okay.
Thank goodness.
Let's do some mailbag.
Mailbag. mailbag mailbag first question coming in whatever happened between you and Jason
why aren't you guys friends anymore does it have to do with stealing Roma
doonsay this is a question from the future gene just asked gene just asked
Doc Brown. Yeah.
Here's exactly what happened.
I'm remembering, hold on, I'm remembering
the discussion on the show.
The discussion on the show a few weeks ago,
because I brought up that Rome might be climbing into my My Guy,
and you said, you know what, that's funny,
because I've got DJ Moore as my My Guy.
I love DJ Moore.
Maybe we'll have a competition about it.
Yep, that is exactly what we had said way back then it has been written right behind
you for weeks yeah okay okay a real question from Lex so upset
wax in Maryville Tennessee oh no I don't need a Rome question what is the what is
the question Roma doons air T Hins? In a PPR dynasty startup.
Did you just put this in here?
So this is super ironic.
Rome or T. Higgins in dynasty.
In a startup?
In a startup.
I mean, this is just do you believe or not.
T is gonna be fine and good for your team.
T is 26.2 years old.
Yeah, I think I take Rome.
And Rome is about to be 23.
Yeah, I mean, I love both of these guys dearly.
If this was a redraft, I would flip them,
but that age gap will...
Really?
Yeah.
I'll go, I'll play T.
I mean, T's had his own problems.
You know what I mean?
Yeah, he absolutely has.
If you are drafting to win today, T's the better pick.
The age gap of 23 to 26 is,
that doesn't scare me off of T Higgins
who is now connected with Joe Burrow.
It's not just, the Rome Hope is not just Rome. The Rome Hope is not just Rome.
The Rome Hope is also in Caleb.
I'm not saying I'm betting against those guys, but I know that Joe Burrow is the top five
quarterback in the NFL.
The dude just produces tons of fantasy points for his wide receivers.
Yes, and he has the injury problems, but that's where I would make my bet.
Ryan writes in off of Instagram, what's Drake May's outlook?
Rushing upside makes him feel valuable.
Yeah, but that team is going to be,
I don't know that they're going to turn it around anytime soon.
Yeah.
So it's just like for Drake May, it would.
421 yards rushing in two touchdowns last year in 13 games.
That's pretty nice.
Stephon Diggs coming to join the roster, maybe some stability
in the passing game.
Much better head coach.
We have a tremendous amount of confidence in with Mike Rable.
What is his outlook?
His outlook is he's a contender for a surprise season
at quarterback.
Where you have, we're bringing his name up more often
than you'd expect on the streaming prediction show
on Thursday and you know, to me I think
that's really possible.
Yeah, I would expect him to finish somewhere
around quarterback 15.
The fact that he can run the ball
and is really secure in his position.
Let me guess, is it my guy for you?
Do you wish he was?
Because you could talk me into it.
At a minimum, I'm going to take all that credit.
What about Justin Herbert?
Mike Benjamino writes in, how do we feel about Herbert this year?
I'd like to hear where Jason is on Herbert.
My guy, for Jason.
Yeah, so what we saw last year with Justin Herbert was
quarterback 13 with the first five games being real slow.
Yeah, that's what I was gonna bring up.
There was a shift, This was the first time that G-Row and Hard Dog
come to the Chargers, they wanna establish the run.
They start out and you look at the attempts,
just the passing attempts,
how much they let Justin Herbert throw the ball
at the beginning of the year.
26 times, 20 times, 18 times, 27.
That's like, that is not who Justin Herbert
has been in his career.
And they really unleashed him, completely said,
look, this is our leader, we're going to pass more.
And you know what that unleashing worked out to though?
On a, I'm going weeks eight through 18,
which eight was his first top 12 finish of the season where he put up 24
points so I mean 24 points in your the QB 12s like we had a big week but from
that from those weeks it's 4,200 yards and 26 touchdowns like that's not you
cannot you cannot do special with the current group.
Like receiving. You need them to draft someone?
You have to add somebody more meaningful.
Lad McConkey by himself with Quinton Johnston.
Yeah, you have to, there has to be a,
like maybe you add one of the big tight ends in the draft.
Oh, I mean that's, I think that is who they're hoping.
If Loveland or Tyler Warren can fall to them, I think they would take that.
The other hard part is if their defense plays the way that they want it to, they will not
throw as much as you want them to.
That's true.
That's true.
If they can win, not throwing it as much, they will.
Yeah, so from a fantasy perspective, I don't think that this is a team that would ever
let Justin Herbert be a top three tight end.
I do think though, you know, you talk about what-
Quarterback.
Yes, or tight end.
I still stand by my statement, 100%.
I think you're allowed to go with that one,
it's a good bet.
I'm safe there.
But, you know, obviously 4,300 passing yards is fine.
But obviously 4,300 passing yards is fine.
26 touchdowns would be very disappointing for fantasy. But the touchdowns are the thing where
if he gets another weapon in the draft,
I think the touchdowns can come up.
I was just more talking about the passing attempts,
the fact that after their bye week,
when they kind of turned it over to him he was at 31
passing attempts a game and that's enough for him to be pretty valuable he also was running the ball
a little bit more which is great because he's got the skill set to do that i mean that that time you
know from week six on he was on pace for almost 400 rushing yards we have not seen Justin Herbert
We have not seen Justin Herbert be anything special in the touchdown percentage since his sophomore year.
He has been.
What did he throw his sophomore year?
So sophomore year.
Did he get to 40?
That was 38.
38.
So 5.7% of his attempts.
Like that's a really good percentage.
Keenan and Mike Williams.
The following three years though,
it's league average or below.
By the way. That's a long way, we're wrapping this show up, but I did repost the picture of the three of us
laughing at Kyle at the draft for those that want to revisit that.
