Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers Podcast with your hosts, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore
and Mike Wright.
Oh, welcome in.
It's baseball time.
Oh, redo it. Redo it. Redo the show! Start over! It's not baseball time?
No it's never baseball time! Look at your compadre over here, your best
friends wearing a... It's hoodie time, I'll grant you that! You're wearing a twins hoodie!
Yeah. I thought that's what he was trying to say! People wear Yankees gear all the
time just for fashion. They're not baseball fans. I mean, like, you know, what?
You just see Kirby Puckett fan over here.
The pitchers and catchers is, like, tomorrow, right?
Probably.
Is it really?
I don't know.
It's got to be soon.
It's got to be February.
I mean, I just assumed.
That's the MLB.
That's when they're like, you know what, football?
It's February.
We're going to take over.
Pitchers and catchers.
Why doesn't anybody else show up?
Why is it just them?
You ever think that I literally I literally have no idea Maybe you could hit a little better if the hitters showed up. Is there a part of baseball where only pictures?
Yes, it's always it's the spring training spring training starts and pitchers and catchers show up first. I don't know why I
Don't know why I mean, I guess you got OTAs and football where it's just the offense
It's like why is the defense there? It's cuz like well the office is more important. So wait OTAs is only offense
No, that's not true. No weirdo. It's
Not that's how you think of it because it's your players are paying attention to rookie rookie camp. Okay, that's better. All right
Pitchers and catchers first. I don't know. I don't know why.
Yeah. They need more practice.
Welcome to the baseball hour.
Wow, because I mean, like, if you're playing outfield,
I mean, how many plays a game do you actually do anything?
You come in one day before the season starts.
You still know how to catch? Yeah. Okay.
It's good enough. Man.
Well, this is all because Mike's wearing a twins
Hoodie yeah, and I'm looking good
Favorite twins Blair is Kirby Puckett all time. We got like some Tori Hunter in my favorite
Johan Santana is my favorite welcome to twins talk Jason. What are your thoughts?
I think I'm gonna circle tune in the wrong channel nasty Joe Maurer our yeah all right we we're actually
gonna still talk football that's what we do year-round and congrats to
everybody that just brought home a title in week 18 the 10% hopefully that's a
full 10% of champions and I thought thought week 18 was, I watched Red Zone
pretty much the entirety of the day.
I wasn't in the office doing the bajillion screens
melt your brain, but I Red Zoned the whole day.
I thought it was a fun day of football.
The morning started really slow and wonky,
but towards the end of the morning games,
especially when there was the back and forth
between the Falcons' outcome versus the Buccaneers' outcome,
there was a lot of exciting stuff.
Unfortunately, the incredible, much-anticipated game
that we were waiting for between the Vikings and the Lions
did not come to fruition.
Offensively, it did not.
And I know it goes against everything I say,
because I want high-powered offensive games.
But when it's like the one is on the line,
I'm OK with a lower scoring game,
because the stakes are so incredibly high.
And I have no fantasy implications.
We would have gotten a more exciting game
if, much like you watching Red Zone, the Vikings could handle their business in the red zone.
Yeah the Vikings Sam Darnold was not good. Justin Jefferson was missing. He was
missing players high very often. Justin Jefferson was not an elite wide receiver
that he needed to be multiple times during that game. So it was,
I'm sure that opinions on the Vikings making a move in the playoffs has shifted dramatically for people. Well, they're the five seed now, right? So we're-
Correct. Well, I'm saying, but just look, like, how can you, I'm sure, I'm just saying people,
how can you have faith in this team and Sam Darnold? When the lights were the brightest
for Sam Darnold, he- You were the brightest for Sam Darnold,
he even, I'm not saying they were,
I'm just saying the general public.
No, I get what you're saying.
I'm still in on Minnesota.
I think they're a great team.
I still feel like it's just a play or two.
You know what I mean?
It really was.
Like those red zone conversions,
we didn't get the high scoring game.
We're gonna talk through NFL news.
We'll talk through the studs of the week.
And we've got the footy nominations on today's show.
Oh baby. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr studs of the week and we've got the footy nominations on today's show.
Oh, not yet. Not yet. No singing yet. That's just a,
it's baseball time. It's baseball time. That's enough. Um,
he's like really upset. Uh, so we've got, we got that going on. A couple of headlines at the top here. I want to let people know.
We did this last year. We're doing it again. Our DFS pass, which is the single greatest value in the entire universe, is free making it,
is it a value if something's free? Yeah, it's an extreme value.
So we make it free during the playoffs so that those of you that didn't get to use it during the year get to get in there and use the DFS tools and read the articles and see all of the amazing
content put out by our DFS team, our DFS embedding team, dfspast.com. You can use the optimizer.
It's all free right now. Just go to dfspast.com. You get it free for the playoffs and you can try
it out and see if it's something you want to use next year so check that out and
then I'm gonna throw a shout out to a couple guys here at the studio because
they put this together last year they did it again everyone wants to make a
playoff bracket we've all made them here mm-hmm I think I made some people freak
out because my Super Bowl pick.
But.
It's a pick.
They built a tool.
They're not even in the playoffs.
That's how crazy it is.
That's right, it was the Bears.
No, myplayoffpicks.com completely free.
It's a tool that lets you make a playoff bracket.
It just pops up with the matchup and you choose the winners
and it gives you a bracket and you can compare with your friends.
And it's really nice because you can't just do the classic like March Madness bracket because the NFL recedes.
So depending on who you pick, it doesn't just always go like your classic piece of paper bracket where well then that team goes and plays this team from that side of the bracket.
So it makes it really, really nice for you. very easy. Brooksie and Schneider did a great job
putting that together. And so that's just a cool tool. I will ask you right here
right now, having used that tool, who are your finalists and who is your
Super Bowl champion? Because I will save my controversial pick till the end.
I have, after going through the bracket,
I have it being Baltimore v. Philadelphia.
And who wins it?
I have Baltimore winning.
OK.
I have it Philadelphia v. Kansas City.
Boo.
Hey, I know, and I've got Kansas.
Big Raph over here.
I've got Big Red winning another over here. I've got big red winning. Another one.
Kansas City.
Basic.
I just did what I think's gonna happen.
You know, Jason.
Oh, I know.
Lad minus 310.
All right, I am taking the Detroit Lions,
who were my preseason pick to get there.
That one makes sense, yeah.
And I actually, I have the-
He doesn't even wanna say it.
I don't, I have the Chargers in the Super Bowl
via upsetting the Chiefs in the divisional round
and then upsetting the Bills in the conference championship.
For whatever stupid reason,
I'm not just trying to be hot takey,
I just feel like the Chargers are kind of built to win in the playoffs and we will see what happens that is not
I the odds of that are plus 2800 or something ridiculous right now so not
high odds and how long did it take hardball to get there the first time two
years was it too I mean it was really fast. I have Detroit, though, winning against the Chargers in the Super Bowl.
So if you're still with us, we'll move on.
Yeah, it was year two.
They were 13 and three when you took over for San Francisco.
And then second year, they got to the Super Bowl.
So Chiefs, Mike, you have the Ravens?
I got the Ravens, yeah.
That'd be fun to see.
And I'm going Lions, winning it all.
All right, let's talk some news. News and notes from around the league presented by
USAA Insurance. I see we fixed our graphics today. Oh, okay. That was going to be pretty
fundamental to your employment. Um, no, congrats on the
trophy that's sitting there and will sit there apparently for the rest of the entire calendar
year.
Why would it not? Good point.
All right. The Patriots have fired Gerard Mayo.
Yeah, it didn't go well.
They could have. It didn't go well, but then it didn't go well. They could have, it didn't go well,
but then it didn't go poorly enough either
because they should have had the number one pick.
Now they have the fourth pick and no head coach.
He, coach said we're going out, we're playing to win.
You know, draft pick be darned, I don't care.
And that was not the reason he got fired.
He got fired not because he, you know,
wasted away that first pick,
but because he was not a wasted away that first pick but because
He was not a good enough head coach. I mean that was just the truth Yeah, was not ready for this job even you know craft came out and talked about how
When the interviews when he was coming up drawed Mayo was coming up for other interviews
He got scared that he was gonna lose him and that he was the heir apparent
It was kind of that hand-picked guy so he put him in and I mean the truth was he just wasn't, he wasn't that guy and
if you know it, you know it.
The, I mean you know what, if you weren't paying attention Sunday, it was the Patriots
versus the Buffalo Bills.
So division rival laid down and the Patriots lost their number one pick
I mean that and you tell your seat doesn't change for the Buffalo Bills like that is
That's that's winning. Yeah, that's that's some good. That's long good ball by the bills
Yeah, it's funny though to think I mean we've been doing this long enough to know when the roles were perfectly reversed
I mean they were it was the New England on top of everything doing everything right and Buffalo was
I mean they were it was the New England on top of everything doing everything right and Buffalo was
Laughing stock. Mm-hmm, but they also I mean it's easier to win when you put in your star rookie quarterback And that's what happened for the first time all season
For the Patriots, mr. Joe no Milton bazooka Joe. He didn't make a couple
Joe's great. I hope he's now the starter for that. That one's not mine. I saw that one on Twitter
Well, he does have a bazooka. Yes, nobody can throw he's now the starter for that. That one's not mine. I saw that one on Twitter.
Well, he does have a bazooka.
Yes.
Nobody can throw the football.
It was very Josh Allen-esque.
He had a couple throws.
One was called back, touched down to Mario Douglas.
That was incredible.
Doug Peterson fired, goodbye.
Oh man.
They have the fifth pick.
Oh, Doug Peterson.
Yeah. You hired Doug Peterson.
What is it?
Is it two years?
Is that the run?
Bring him in.
Like a year or two.
Give him a couple years.
And let him go out on top.
Yeah.
Tell him to retire.
Like, well, I'm not going to fire you, but just retire,
because you're doing awesome.
It's like he comes in and he cleans the locker room up
real nice and sparkly clean.
But then never.
Yeah, it doesn't maintain.
Doesn't maintain doesn't maintain ah the Giants
they're gonna retain Brian Dable and their general manager I definitely
think retaining Brian Dable is the right route here he he appears to me still to
be a good coach he's been working with not a lot so I don't know about the GM
situation but Dave all is the type of guy that I think if they let him go he he's been working with not a lot. So I don't know about the GM situation,
but Dayball is the type of guy that I think
if they let him go, he would be interviewed immediately
for at least that coaching jobs or go get another OC job.
You imagine they're going to bring in
their new quarterback of the future,
and it's hard to want somebody, you know,
get somebody as good as Dayball to potentially
help that quarterback alone.
They have a weird navigating though. They are pick three. Tennessee is the first overall pick.
I can't imagine they don't take a quarterback. Yep. And then the Cleveland Browns are number two.
Quarterback. Maybe. Maybe. Yeah, maybe. They should. They definitely should.
And then they could be a trading team, too.
That's more what I mean.
Is it better for the Browns to just trade down,
acquire a bunch of assets because they're not
ready to get on the rookie quarterback contract?
The Colts will retain Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard.
That one was surprising.
I don't think the vibes there were good all year.
Chris Ballard is pretty proven, Shane Steichen.
I don't know if he knew what he was doing this year.
He felt very similar to Gerard Mayo to me.
It's from press conferences and decision-making.
It's like two years, though, of collapse.
Right at the end.
Yeah.
Down the stretch, I mean, you had
one of the worst games of the season, of the whole season,
one of the most surprising outcomes in week 17
to let the Colts just get annihilated by a team
they were super favored over where they had to win.
When that game ended, I thought Stiken would not be back, but this is also a team that
has not been that bad.
They were in the playoff hunt last year and this year.
It didn't happen, but this isn't a team that... I think continuity also matters, so probably
a good move.
Yeah, if you're talking about keeping somebody there, you talk about, hey, he had to deal with injuries
at the quarterback position that rotated guys through
and didn't get stability ever.
It's a questionable hire though.
I don't know if he's gonna work out.
Mike McDaniel is staying with the Dolphins.
So it seems like if your quarterback
missed a bunch of games,
Daniel Jones, Anthony Richardson,
Tua, you got like the free pass this year.
Is that the Mike McCarthy prognostication there?
We'll find out.
Cause he's a winner, Jason.
He is a winner.
He wins Super Bowl
a long time ago.
Man, he got so fired up and that clip is just a chef's kiss.
It's so good.
Ken Dorsey fired as the offensive coordinator
of the Browns, Ryan Grubb out after one year in Seattle.
And Lou Anarumo, who has been at one point
a head coaching candidate after the dominant Bengals
defensive years ago when they went to the Super Bowl,
fired bad defenses here in Cincinnati.
And kind of, I mean, if you just,
the Cincinnati years, one of the more disappointing ones,
because you got an MVP season from Burrow.
To me, if they win that division,
they win all those close games, He's the MVP of football.
Oh, for sure. Did you see the... Burrow's the passing leader. Jamar Chase is a triple crown winner.
And then they have the lead... most sacks. With Hendrickson.
Yeah. All on the same exact team. And this team barely finished over 500 and did not make the
playoffs. Doesn't that reflect on the head coach too?
Oh, I definitely think.
Not if you ask him.
Right?
As loose, you go talk to Lou about that.
This is heads got a role with the coordinator first.
Zach Taylor drives me crazy.
I don't know that he is a bad coach.
Like I'm not saying he is just bad, you should fire him.
But he definitely makes very bad decisions frequently.
You do get your feathers.
In game, he drives me nuts.
So I don't know, whatever.
He's got Joe Burrow, so he wins a lot of games,
hard to fire him, but I think they could do a lot better than
Zach Taylor and just imagine just imagine like oh there's all these coaching openings right and it's
like the coaches right Ben Johnson is the belle of the ball this year he's gonna get to pick where
he wants to go now just imagine one of these spots has Joe burrow yeah it could have a lot to do
who burrow wants right now. Yeah, I mean.
Borrow my T Higgins is the answer to that question.
No, he does.
Yeah, yeah.
Zay Flowers left the Browns game knee-spraying,
not considered long-term,
but could miss the wild card game against the Steelers.
Can I change my pick?
I don't think they need Zay Flowers
to beat the Steelers. Oh yeah, they don't need Zay Flowers.
I think they're the biggest favorites.
They are.
Last I saw was nine and a half point favorites
over the Steelers.
They need Ze Flowers,
assuming that it's gonna be the Bills.
They would need them there.
Blake Corum out for the playoffs.
That's a bummer.
Broken forearm in the Sunday game.
Christian Watson.
Broken forearm in the Sunday game.
Christian Watson, I don't want to be trite with injuries.
It's tempting with Watson's history to look at, look, they can't figure out how to help him run properly.
He tore his ACL, suffered additional damage.
It had always been soft tissue issues
and banged up all year and now
towards ACL and could miss well into 2025. So much promise, so much talent. And the
playoffs obviously. And it really sucks man. The Packers are legitimately so much better when
Christian Watson plays. Even if he's not the one making the big plays, the offense is
just objectively better. So this is, the Packers are limping into the playoffs
yeah they are and Jordan love he had exited with a right elbow contusion
could have returned you that numb hand yeah just super cold I said yeah like I
knew what that meant oh no no I mean you he couldn't feel his hand. Yeah. Yeah. No I know what a
numb hand is. Okay so what were you saying you were acting like you did? He said he's got that numb hand like that's a thing. Well it just
happened to Josh Allen. Oh did it? Yeah. Oh okay. So it's that numb hand? Yeah. Alright. Come on. It's the numb hand.
Jalen Hurts still in concussion protocol. No new information. I have new
information that he will not be in the concussion protocol for this weekend.
Yeah, it's funny how those things... And he might still be in it, but he will
be playing this weekend. Four and a half point home favorites against Green Bay.
Yeah, they're guessing that Jalen Hurts is gonna play. It's so not fair, because I mean,
I would be impressed if somehow
they kept him out of this game,
because if in the situation where he would need to not play,
that they would actually not play him,
but the whole world knows.
Did either of you pick the Rams to win their wild card game?
That was very, very close to me, but I did not.
They are the, that's the closest game.
One of the closest line?
Minnesota minus one and a half.
The second closest game, Chargers are favored on the road
against Houston.
Two and a half point favorites.
Oh, Houston.
Then Tampa's favored by three.
I actually took Washington in that game.
Did either of you take Washington?
I think I did.
I did not.
The Bucs, they're a weird team, man.
They're, like to me, they're one of the lower seeds
that can actually, like I think they can make a run.
Sure.
I think that the Bucs are good enough,
but they're, sometimes they show up. Sometimes they don't. I mean, they haducks are good enough but they're they're sometimes
they show up sometimes they don't I mean they they had barely showed up they had
to pull off a comeback win against the Saints and Spencer Rattler. They had two scores
right? Yes it was it was like it was dire for a little bit and on the second half
I finally turned it on so it they're such a strange team. With Mr. McMillan. Getting it done. Touchdowns that's all he does.
That was today's news and notes presented by USA insurance learn more at
USA.com slash insurance we'll take a break we'll hit the studs.
All right, let's talk studs. This week's fantasy stud muffins.
This is a fun group of quarterbacks to talk about.
By the way, no duds today.
It's all studs today.
And then we'll get into the footy nominations, the fantasy football awards.
The greatest awards in the known universe.
Yes.
Yes. Bryce Young. Yeah, baby. This is so good for football.
Week 18 36.4 against Atlanta. I knew Atlanta would Atlanta. They did. They did
Atlanta. They lost. They did lose. They were in overtime before they knew
Tampa. Yes. I think they were like they got the note like paging Atlanta the Bucks have won as you're going out for the coin toss
So yeah, you're still 38 points of mistakes before that, but I'm saying in overtime. You gotta be
Crest forward. Your hearts are broken, but Bryce Young
Not only like this wasn't just a he was good for fantasy. It was Bryce Young balled out.
Like he was awesome, including a full Steph Curry,
no look after he threw the ball.
He's like, this is a touchdown.
I'm turning around, it's gonna be a cool celebration.
And I think it was to Sanders who double caught the ball
if you actually watch what happened.
But this is, it's so exciting.
If Bryce Young.
You have been Mr. Bryce Young.
Because I want every single,
I want all 32 quarterbacks to be awesome.
When a quarterback comes out and they're drafted
and then they suck, it hurts me.
It hurts my heart,
because I want that kid to be good
and I want an entertaining product.
And it all starts with the quarterbacks,
and two games into this year, he got benched,
and it was, this is the end.
This is the end of Bryce Young,
and he came back with an absolute fury,
and it wasn't just this week.
I mean, it's been basically since he got unbenched
that he's been playing extremely well.
It's weird.
The transformation from what he was in week one and two
to this guy is, you can't even recognize him.
I don't want to take any credit away from his mental change
and transformation because he had to go through
what he went through, but Dave Canales.
Oh, sure.
It's all part of it.
Dave Canales is, it's cool to see that come to fruition.
Putting your players in a position to win.
I love that he got benched
when he wasn't playing well enough
and got brought back
because really it's a confidence thing.
That's when you watch Bryce Young play
the last month and a half, two months.
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah.
He looks so much more confident.
Free.
Yeah, he's like having fun on the field.
And he looks like, no, I can make that throw.
He looks like when in his head he's doing the Brett Favre,
I can complete any throw on this field.
Bo Nix was number two.
Holy moly.
Which this was a just whooping,
including a hilarious catch.
I mean that.
Yeah, the veilei.
If you watch that double deflection catch by veilei, it seems improbable that they could
have stayed in bounds, but they did.
Bo Nix, the first month of the season, had one total passing touchdown.
And now he has the second most for a rookie quarterback.
Let me ask you this the last eight games so the second half of the season
bonix how many passing touchdowns do you think that pace would be the whole the
entire second half of the season so what how many games eight or eight or the
last eight games 17-game pace I'm gonna guess 35 that would would be so many. 44.6 with 4,300 passing yards. Let's go.
I mean the offense has been... So Mike's talking about he wants them youngsters.
We need it. We need it. We've had so many crops of quarterbacks that were
these guys can't miss. I'm guessing. And then they're whiffing. Jason I'm guessing
with a 44 touchdown pace that's got gotta put Troy Franklin on pace for.
Dozens of targets.
Marvin Mims, two more touchdowns.
Dude, he's coming alive.
I loved him coming out of college.
It's nice to see them actually use him.
He's gonna be so impossible next year.
He played on 31% of the snaps.
He is making the most of his opportunities.
Justin Herbert, 346, got the dub, good efficiency. Kyler Murray, when it doesn't matter. Yeah,
thanks for nothing Kyler. Put up four, one to McBride, one to Harrison, a couple to Dortch.
Thanks buddy. The Foody Awards has a players that let you down category,
right, based on their draft position and where you took them
and who hurt you the most.
I mean, prequel or a preview of that,
you know, Travis Etienne's in there, right?
Mm-hmm.
Kyler's not on that list
because there's a lot of names that are more worthy.
Yeah.
Kyler is in the ring of honor of that list. Kyler. He's been
the most frustrating for the most people that I've seen. For the, I mean, because the first half,
yeah, there's a lot of, there's a lot of bad games in there, but there's actual
really good ones before the bye week. And then he did, then it all just,
it felt a part for fantasy. You just talked about Bo Nix's pace what was the touchdown total that 44 point something so Kyler's last seven games played 21 touchdown
pace with four 19 interceptions that includes this past week where he threw
no picks it's been a bummer so I mean that is if you if you take out this week
14 touchdown pace with 22 picks.
Yeah.
That's not good. That's out of the league numbers.
Geno Smith against the Rams second group.
Got his millions of dollars.
Yeah, 223 and four.
And the win.
Michael Pennex Jr., 312 and two.
What'd you think of Pennex Jr. this week?
Mike, you're the...
I thought it was, I mean, he's 21 of 38. It was... I think I've seen enough from Pennex
to be confident moving forward that he can become a franchise quarterback. I mean, there
are already the rumors of how they're going to try and trade Kirk Cousins or they're fine
with him being the backup.
Which Cousins will not be fine with.
It's like he's already, he's not doing that.
I would imagine teams would want Kirk Cousins.
He may not have a choice because he signed the contract and has all that guaranteed money,
but I'm excited for PENIX, but it's not completely there yet.
Yeah, I agree.
He still looks like a rookie, but he showed enough to where your glass half full going forward
Jameer Gibbs B John Robinson Derek Henry miles
Sanders yeah, man and Jonathan Taylor the final five are the top five running backs
I'm gonna be completely honest when the game came around and Sunday morning started
You know we were talking about Blackshear,
and all of a sudden Miles Sanders was in the game.
I was like, Miles Sanders?
I didn't know he was active.
That he was active or gonna play football this week,
and not only did he play football,
but he got 17 carries, 50 receiving yards,
two touchdowns. Okay. Yep. John the
Taylor finished the year on fire. Yeah, that's that's very
18 and 3125 and 2177 and one. We need that for next year. That
will there's no question the end of this season has moved his
ADP way up. Yeah. Uh Damian Pierce had a 92 yard touchdown.
Yeah, he did.
That was fun.
I saw the replay of that, and I thought at first
it was a kick return.
Then I realized all the offensive players were there,
because the 92 yards is a long way,
the longest of any player this season.
Devon Achand, 11 for one, 21 and one.
And all on the ground on the ground he had
Literally not a single target in that game, which feels stupid Bucky
Irving he's so good. He is going to be really interesting in draft season next year and
Michael Carter scored wide receivers Drake London. How dare you Rico Dowdell scored Rico Dowdell scored. Yeah, he did
Are you are you good now Breeze Hall scored?
He did Rico he didn't make it to my top 20 bold prediction
But he's about points per game though, I'm not sure where he is points per game
No, Kyle says no, but it's like it's he's RB he is points per game. I'm willing to give you no Kyle says no, but it's like it's
He's RB 24 and points per game. It's go look at his numbers and look at Najee's they are like
Identical except Najee has a couple more rushing touchdowns man to those are two running backs
Yeah, that I don't want they're both. 1,000 yard rushers. I know they are.
But they are actually very similar in how
they feel on your football team.
Yeah, that's fine.
They're not Gibbs and HN.
They're going to get theirs, and they can handle volume.
Top five wide receivers, Drake London, Quentin Johnston,
Jacobi Myers, Kaishan Bhutai.
Dude, the huge. 14 targets yeah caught 13 of them for 186 yards this was that mean
this was he dropped one I don't I don't know if he dropped it or not but I'm
saying that future Super Bowl maybe wide receiver he will be fun to like if
this can somehow carry through the playoffs and you like oh no the Quinton
Johnson was a first-round early wide receiver. We need to figure this out
What is the message on huge after we had a lot of talk in the offseason they lose?
Mike Williams they lose Keenan Allen they lose Austin Eckler
We talked a lot about Quinton Johnson going into the year. What is like the summation of the season?
Compared to what we thought going in?
I think he's a talented ancillary piece
of a wide receiver core.
Yeah, I can agree with that.
That equates to wide receiver two?
Would he be a good two?
Yeah, two-ish.
Because you look at, I mean,
McConkie's not a traditional one.
Right, are you speaking NFL landscape or famous?
Yeah, NFL landscape.
I still think probably a three.
Jamar Chase at number five this week.
Corland Sutton, five for 98 and one,
hit his bonus.
Got that shmoney.
Got the shmoney, got into the playoffs.
Did you mention Drake London's 18 targets?
We did not.
I mean, in the games with Michael Pinnix.
This is the game, these last three games with Michael Pinnix.
Go ahead and give me the numbers.
Yeah, he's targeted on 41% of his routes, which is number one in the NFL.
So that's going to mess up people for next year.
I don't know how high he'll go, but it will be higher than he would have a couple of weeks ago.
Mooney was out of this game
Keep that in mind
It was Carolina, but like are you going to be all in on Drake London next year? I'm pretty in on Drake London
Yeah, I think Pinnix can get the job done. I mean he was he's the wide receiver six this year
Yeah, so it's you know in the end. You think he's a wide receiver six by ADP?
I think next year he'll probably be more like wide receiver
eight or nine, but he'll be a wide receiver one
by ADP for sure.
Okay, Jaylen McMillan, seven receiving touchdowns
in the final five games.
He'll be interesting in draft season as well
because Godwin will be gone.
Mike Evans will be a year older.
Godwin could be gone. He's a free a year older. Godwin could be gone.
He's a free agent.
We don't know if they're gonna bring him back.
You don't think the Bucs have any interest
in bringing him back?
I think it's very unlikely that he'll be back, yeah.
I think you've seen what you needed to see
from Jalen McMillan, and there's other places
to invest on that roster,
that I would be shocked for them to bring him back.
Godwin was so good this year.
He was, but I get it, he's older, coming off of an injury.
McMillan's breakout, you're going to have a lot of conversation down the road of, you
know, is this Jehan Dotson scored more touchdowns than he should have or is this Amon Ross St.
Brown the end of year breakout where he just couldn't be stopped?
Well, and that'll be connected with Baker and throwing over 40 touchdowns
and whether he'll do that every year.
And McLaurin, with two seconds left,
scoring McLaurin with the backups.
I don't know if you saw Cliff Kingsbury
high-fiving up and down the sideline.
But that, combined with the Green Bay loss,
secured Washington's seeding in the playoffs.
Top tight end scorers, the Muth was Luth,
number one on the week, Trey McBride, number two,
Jordan Aikens, Noah Fant, and Johnny Smith.
Wasn't Brock Bowers.
But Brock Bowers finished with 112.
Yeah.
And McBride with 111.
It was insane.
McBride had seven for 65 for a long time.
They just stopped throwing to him.
Yeah.
I think he had six catches in the first half, if I'm remembering it right.
Because I peaked you guys.
And you said you thought they were going for the record.
And I tweeted it out.
It was like, because the target disparity between Trey McBride and everybody else was like, this
is fishy.
It seemed like they were going after it,
but if they were, they aborted that plan in the second half.
Trey McBride led the entire NFL in receptions
since week 12.
That's more than Jamar Chase, Puka.
Trey McBride is very good.
Yeah.
Who would you rather have next year between McBride and Bowers?
Whoever's drafted later.
Yeah, probably.
I mean, to me it is a 1A, 1B thing.
You gotta hope that these last two weeks were...
Probably McBride.
...were figuring out that we can get McBride touchdowns, because that will be everything.
Probably McBride for quarterback situation. I don't know. Yeah we don't know who the quarterback of the Raiders is. Is it going to change the landscape of the Raiders if they bring in a high profile wide receiver which they desperately need.
I mean this season went like Brock Bowers is a unique talent maybe he puts up
these exact numbers anyways but the fact that this season goes the way it did
where they literally get rid of Devonte Adams in the middle of the year, had injuries to
Jacoby Myers early in the year. I thought Myers missed some time, didn't he?
Yeah, Myers missed a couple games. I thought he missed some time. So, you know, it went pretty well for
Brock Bowers. Yeah, Jacoby missed two weeks. All right, and shout out to Mike's
start of the week in week 18. Yeah, baby.
Hey, we got that, Tutty.
That's all that matters.
That's all we need for the drop, baby.
Will Disney.
Yee-haw.
He's going to the Super Bowl, too.
Well, he'll probably get tickets.
Yeah, he's an NFL player.
I think a lot of them will be there.
You got an inside track.
Oh.
Hey, Rog.
Yeah, yeah.
You guys want to get into these funny numbers?
Is it time?
No.
I'm just going to just hold on.
It's just a quick throwaway tidbit.
But we are in, look, it's dynasty season.
And you're looking for nasty boys who
could be on the waiver wire.
And Jawan Johnson, tight end of the Saints,
he is an unrestricted free agent,
and he was six for 80 this past week.
He to me is a guy that could land on a team
where he becomes a true part of the offense.
It's not, this is a long shot.
He mobs week 17, 18 every year.
Yeah, the second half, he's been able to show up,
but just saying, this is a player who I think has the,
he has the skills and ability,
should he find an offense that features a tight end,
that he could sneak in and be a quality guy.
It just, he might be on some waiver wires
out there in dynasty, because he just dynasty because he's a second half guy.
All right, we'll take a break and we'll hit the footy nominations.
All right, the time has come. We're going to present you with our footy nominations for 2024
you with our footy nominations for 2024 and you'll get the opportunity to go and vote the footy awards most prestigious awards it is are you handing it to me I
am passing it around of all the trophies that could be weaponized it's the best
this is the one that you would want.
It was made by a blacksmith.
Yeah, go ahead, Mike.
It's fine.
This is, if you had pulled off a first down in the NFL
and you held this thing up, you would get penalized
15 yards for a violent gesture.
Yeah, but you might be ejected for having a weapon on the field
very sharp and made of
What is that steel? I don't know is of course it's steel. I know a thing or two about metal
Okay, that is that is pure steel. All right, we're gonna share our
Nominations, I think we have 15 categories this year. You can go to footyawards.com
and we will announce the winners on next Tuesday's show. So you have until Monday to vote.
I voted. I did as well. So why don't you read the first category for us Jason? All right. I'll kick
us off with the performance of the year. Which single week performance was the most impressive. You had
Josh Allen's week 14, where he put up 51 fantasy points. You had Saquon Barkley's crazy 44
points. We had actually this year a lot of these massive 43 point performances, like
Alvin Kamara in week two, Jonathan Taylor's week 16 explosion makeup for his
uh, dropping the touchdown. Jamar Chase put up a 50 burger in week 10 versus Baltimore
and Brock Bowers as a rookie had a 25 point performance in week 13.
By the way, the 2023 winner of this award was Amari Cooper who had 11 for 265 and 2
in week 16. Yeah, that was awesome.
I found maybe more than years past, more categories were more difficult for me to pick a winner.
That's good.
It was hard to decide between a lot of them for me.
Who'd you decide on this one?
Oh, no, no, no.
Oh, you don't wanna sway the vote?
No, no, no, no, no.
Okay.
I'll ask you after.
We don't do that, Jason. The Fantasy to sway the vote? Okay, that's we don't we don't do that Jason
The fantasy reapers man of the year, which is which players injury hurt fantasy managers the most
In 2023 it was Nick Chubb with his catastrophic injury this year's nominees
Christian McCaffrey. I
Hear he was drafted fairly high Isaiah Pacheco Jason's my guy
Which turned sour Chris Olave, who did not return in week 18.
And Chris Godwin, who was on fire.
I found that.
If your name was Chris.
Yeah.
Or Christian, watch out, man.
Yeah, I mean, Chris Olave's name is Christian.
It is.
So Christian Watson.
Oh no. Oh no.
Oh no.
Oh, we have stumbled upon something.
We just found something.
Kyle, get on it.
Oh man.
Get on it.
Are there other Chris's that have gone down this year?
Has anyone done a full correlation causation report
on fellers named Chris or Christian?
Kyle's on it.
Yeah, good.
Oh, thank goodness.
All right, we got the Poopiest Pants Award,
which is despite high expectations,
this player let fantasy managers down over and over and over
again.
You had MrTravisETN drafted in the second as the RB7.
Marvin Harrison securing my pants to be on forever
at wide receiver eight.
Patrick Mahomes drafted in the back of the third at QB3
and then Jalen Waddle, wide receiver 18.
Yeah, last year the winner was Austin Ackler,
who was the poopiest pants award,
who was drafted as the RB2 and who Jason wouldn't trade me
for two firsts in St. Juan Barkley.
Yeah, unlike the big performance of the year,
which I feel like we had five of them
that were bigger than the biggest last year,
this year we had the Waverwire Wonder,
which, undrafted Waverwire stud,
was the best pick up of the season.
Last year, Kyron Williams was great.
I didn't feel like this year was as strong.
You had Baker Mayfield, Sam Donald,
good at the quarterback position,
Jawan Jennings, Darnell Mooney, and then John New Smith at tight end, and Bucky Irving,
a later season pick up who...
This one was tough. Yeah, that one was a tough one for me to pick too, because I feel like
it's going to be a little bit subjective with who you grabbed in your league, which is the
point of the award, but...
Who did it for you? with who you grabbed in your league, which is the point of the award, but.
You know, finding. Who did it for you?
Finding quarterbacks on the waiver wire
that you can always start.
Like we always talk about streaming the quarterback position,
but not because we want to.
Right.
We'd like to find your Baker Mayfield.
You wanna find Baker.
Oh man.
Christian Kirk!
Christian Kirk!
Christian Kirk.
Christian McCaffrey Kirk Watson, Godwin, Olave. Are there any? Okay, so let's focus on! Christian Kirk. Christian McCaffrey Kirk Watson Godwin Olave.
Are there any, okay, so let's focus on the Christian here.
Come on, man.
Are there any other fantasy football relevant humans
named Christian?
Or are they all down?
Or did we go four for four?
Did we take them all out?
Christian Gonzalez just got hurt
for the New England Patriots!
Doesn't count, this was a fantasy show. but that's a good point. Did he? Yes
Look at oh, all right. There's none left. I'll get on it
Let's see if there's any left and then we can get some only four guys were named Christian offensively
Oh my god all four of them are
down Christian Watson Christian McCaffrey,
Christian Kirk and Christian Olave. You can change your name at any time. Wow.
Ocho Senko did it. Oh man. You might need to protect your body. We discover important facts.
Rob Anderson did it every two weeks. Chosen whatever. Whatever his name is today. I don't know.
Changed the spelling, rearranged which name went where.
Mad Libs Anderson.
Fantasy quarterback of the year, we're looking at the draft position of the player, the big
game performances, their impact to fantasy teams.
Last year's winner was Dak, if you remember, picking him up back half of the year.
Oh, goodness gracious.
He brought a lot of people to the championship.
This year's winner, not Dak.
Nominees, Lamar Jackson, a third round pick.
Drafted as the QB4, finished at one.
Josh Allen, second round pick, finished as the quarterback two.
Joe Burrow, sixth round pick, finished as the quarterback three.
Jaden Daniels, 10th round pick, finished at QB4.
And Baker, undrafted to the QB5.
The fantasy, running back of the year last year,
Christian McCaffrey was able to win
because that was one of the years he played football.
This year's nominees, Saquon Barkley,
drafted as the RB6 finish.
Well, where are we getting these finishes from, Kyle?
Is this week 17?
Because I thought Jameer Gibbs took over.
I thought Gibbs shot up to the running back one.
Well, whatever. Saquon Bark to the running back one. Well, whatever.
Sikom Barkley running back one right around there.
Derrick Henry drafted as the RB9, running back two finished.
Jameer Gibbs drafted as the RB4, finished as the RB3.
Chase Brown was drafted as the RB40,
took over and became the RB11.
Chuba Hubbard running back 43, finished as the running back 12. And then Joe Mixon, drafted as the 15th running back, finished as the running back
13, but did have big impact when he was not hurt.
Yeah, he was better at the start of the year. The wide receiver of the year, last year was
CD Lam stacking with Dak. This year.
That was a good year.
Yeah, for you.
Jamar Chase, who finished as the wide receiver one,
drafted as the wide receiver four,
was obviously outstanding.
Taryon McLorin, drafted as the wide receiver 32,
finishes the wide receiver six, finally got himself
a quarterback.
And then you got a couple of breakout rookies, Brian Thomas
Jr., who finished as the wide
receiver four in his rookie season as the wide receiver 47 drafted, and Malik Nabors,
wide receiver seven finished, drafted as the wide receiver 22.
Yeah.
Jamar Chase was, he was separated from everybody.
But it's interesting to note of this category the only one who
was drafted with any sort of early capital was Jamar Chase I would like to
take this moment briefly in the middle of the footies to announce that I will
be franchising and keeping Jamar Chase on my dang it on my roster it's probably
a good move case you really open you're yes
That's the way I'm gonna go. Would you rather have him or a Mari Cooper? Oh?
Man can't believe that
Man me to that trade whoopsie doozles alright. Where are we tight end? Yep, is it it's to me the fantasy tight end of the year last year Sam Laporta a rookie this year
You got a rookie in the nominees Brock Bowers seventh round pick finishes the tight end of the year last year Sam Laporta a rookie this year You got a rookie in the nominees Brock Bauer's seventh round pick finishes the tight end to George Kittle deserves some respect here
49ers went six and eleven but the George Kittle fans out there got the tight end one in the fifth round
Trey McBride a fourth round pick late fourth finished at tight end three and Johnny Smith undrafted, finishing tight end four.
By the way, apology, public apology to Arthur Smith.
You were playing the better tight end than Johnny Smith.
We were all wrong, as was your general manager.
In drafting Kyle Pitts.
Yeah, who decided that we're gonna take Kyle Pitts
over some players who are doing really, really well. From our Chase, Penne Sewell.
Yeah, yeah.
The breakout player of the year,
last year it was Puka Nakua.
This year on the docket you can vote for,
Jaden Daniels.
Brian Thomas Jr.
Malik Neighbors.
Oh yeah.
Chase Brown.
That's right.
Chuba Hubbard.
Broke out.
And Brock Bowers. I like that guy Brocked out
All right. We also have rookie there who was also puka nakuka last year
Who go is dominant? I'm surprised puka wasn't the waiver wire wonder
I mean Kyron was great too last year, but yeah last year
He could have done the clean sweep there. The rookie
of the year this year, the names are obvious. A lot of the names that we just talked about as a
breakout. Jaden Daniels, Brian Thomas Jr, Malik Neighbors, and Brock Bowers. Four studs. You know
what? I guess shouldn't Bucky Irving be in there? Shouldn't Bucky Irving be in there? Let's get him
in. Bucky Irving. Okay. Okay Let's get him in. Bucky Irving.
Okay. Okay, that's fine. Yeah, we haven't voted yet. Yeah, that's fine. We're just talking.
Well, I voted. Well, I've just two votes, honestly. Yeah, but mine's worth like 50.
Oh, is that how you have them programmed? Yeah. Comeback player of the year, which
fantasy player amazed you the most in their return to relevance? Last year was
Raheem Mostert and his 20 touchdowns. Yeah, what? What last year was Raheem Mostert in his 20 touchdowns yeah what what happened there Raheem Mostert
turns out father time yeah he was hurt all year long when I was in the end JK
Dobbins the nominee this year Kareem Hunt had the midseason special moment with the Chiefs. John Ouse Smith and Adam Thielen.
A chance for an award.
I can't believe it.
That's right.
No one can.
No one can.
He also won't remember that he was nominated.
Maybe don't vote for him because he won't know.
Well, I mean, it'd be a special thing.
Like if he had the trophy that he could remember
every, each and every morning.
Oh, because he could see it. Yeah, isn't there something neat about
Bryce young yesterday throwing to the oldest yeah, I don't I mean little young old I like it
I like it the steal of the draft which player was the absolute best value in the draft compared to their ADP
Raheem most heard also won this award love around pick before he just
Threw the smoke bomb down and set him out
This year the nominees are we got Jayden Daniels in the 10th round as was chase Brown
Chuba Hubbard in the 11th Brian Thomas jr. Was drafted in the ninth
Chuba Hubbard in the 11th, Brian Thomas Jr. was drafted in the 9th, George Kittle was drafted in the back of the 5th, and Brock Bowers was at the back of the 7th.
Good luck with this one everybody.
Yeah, that's tough.
We have the Playoff King Award who drove fantasy managers to a championship during the most
important weeks, 15, 16, and 17.
Last year was Kyron Williams who was the the running back 5'11 and 1 through those
weeks. This year at quarterback we had Jared Goff, Jayden Daniels, Baker Mayfield, all
hitting top 10 performances in all three weeks. You had Jonathan Taylor, who was running back
17. That was the first week of the playoffs where he dropped the ball, had a minus 8 point
play. Right. But then he was the running back one, and the running back one, so if you were in the playoffs,
you knew it.
Jameer Gibbs, running back three, seven, and two.
Brian Thomas Jr., four, three, and 14 wide receiver finishes.
T Higgins, he was the wide receiver 14-16,
but championship week he was the number one wide receiver.
Or Sam Laporta, who you kind of forgot about early on but
top six wide receiver each of the
Three playoff weeks including a wide receiver or tight end one finish and oh my gosh. I forgot last year's winner
Oh, yeah, baby. The most important two categories. Yeah, here we are
The nickname of the year award I cannot
believe this one last year. So the winner was Brett Rippon
nicknamed Rippon Farts. Oh Brett Rippon Farts baby! That's all he was doing out there.
Is that really that one last year? It is and it says a lot about the state of things.
Yeah well you know what? And our show. Can't beat them, join them. Here's the
nominees for the nicknames now with this on
Go to footy awards comm and vote you vote for your favorite three nicknames

It was one time on the show
The butter man in here and then you know a fantasy relevant guy Mike
Sticky guess sticky also a nominee so vote for your favorite three

Go ahead, because I'm not sure what the protocol is here.
The final one here is the show moment of the year.

Mike, when he inducted himself into the Ring of Honor,
if you remember, it was Arthur Blank of the Falcons
who nominated himself for the Ring of Honor. And Mike came in here and surprised us by nominating, just who nominated himself for the Ring of Honor and Mike came in here
and surprised us by nominating,
just inducting himself into the Ring of Honor.
Number one, it was an amazing moment
and it truly is an honor being the only person
in the Fantasy Footballers' Ring of Honor.
Amazing job.
There was the Golden Ticket Surprise
where at the Megalith Show Jason finally used
his Golden Ticket to make me agree.
I got a Golden T golden ticket to make me agree
He made me agree with any take of his yeah, and it was pits right I don't remember I don't remember But it's yeah, you made me like Kyle
Bad take
Another moment was the my guy where I was trying to talk Jaden Daniels,
and you guys put Tank Bigsby in there as my my guy,
which was fun because he had like.
It worked out.
He was OK.
In the beginning at least.
And then the debut of the J Gris theme song.
Go ahead.
I know it's coming.
We're not going on until you go on.
He's not doodling back there.
The J Gris theme song debut.
Tell me who.
Too busy with his trophies.
I'm J. Grizz.
I'm J. Grizz.
Apparently, Andy's looth tooth.
So I did go through losing a freaking tooth
during the entire season.
Yeah, you did.
Hey, I believe that's all rectified.
Yeah, I got a tooth now.
It's great.
I can talk and everything.
Hashtag Spatchcock.
The Megalodon.
The Megalodon Spatchcock.
The Falcon slash deucers poop jokes throughout the year.
Falcon, current reigning show pooper champion right now.
They are.
What's that trophy doing off the side, man?
Yeah, I'm gonna give it to Jeremy for a second. No, he's there. You know, he didn't I just went to blow my nose
Then Jason if you remember Jason versus Dennis Allen at the beginning of the year was
Being laughed at by Dennis Allen through two weeks and then Dennis Allen was the first coach fired and I still shaved my head
That's yeah, but that was a good take. You got him. The Halloween costume fake out. Oh
yeah. When we pretended like we forgot to put costumes on and we had the blue
medical tent and we all got dressed up. That was fun. The YouTube comments of
people being so mad that we didn't dress up and all they had to do was
wait 10 seconds before firing off a comment.
Yeah the next comment would be oh wait my bad good job you got me.
And the final nominee for the show moment of the year none other than the ruthless
meticulous that was that was savage thorough trolling by our League of Record champion Al Borland
who got my entire family to record voicemails praising him for his championship as it was
as my repeat opportunity was destroyed. This will be an interesting race. And there you
go. I want to watch the top ten video clips. So if you want to watch the top ten video
clip as well go to footy awards.com
