Starting point is 00:00:06 to the fantasy footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Oh, welcome in. The Fantasy Footballers Tuesday, July 28th. Welcome into the show. Jason Moore is here, accounted for, back in Arizona, where it was raining today. Yeah. Well, well, I mean, for like, 30 seconds.
Starting point is 00:00:53 It's like a light drizzle. That'll fill all our lakes. It's a light drizzle and I was like, oh, I wonder, is it nice outside? No. The answer was no. It's all evaporated. It's all gone now. Mike Wright is here.
Starting point is 00:01:07 We are all back in Arizona. Just got back from the FF Expo in Canton, Ohio. Sure did. Had you guys been to Ohio for any reason? To Canton? Well, not to Canton. I've been I think I was at Ohio
Starting point is 00:01:24 As a youth to visit some family I don't even know how this is going to cross But like sometimes Maybe it's association with the Browns But I feel like You know People don't talk great about Ohio No and the
Starting point is 00:01:41 Like the you know We complain about our weather I believe Ohio Frequently complains about the weather Well the time we were there With their justified in doing so. It was quite pleasant. We had a great time. We were
Starting point is 00:01:53 very lucky. Nice weather to walk outside in. And Canton was nice. It was a nice small town. Got to see the pro football hall of fame. The nice thing about Canton, the size of Canton, they're big enough to where it's, we're not talking to a village here. It's a city. But they're small enough where everything
Starting point is 00:02:11 is the Hall of Fame. Like the identity, you're walking through the city and just random buildings have like football players painted on the side of it, you know. Grange. I don't know. It's cool to be in such a football town, see the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Starting point is 00:02:25 That was pretty neat. It took everything in me not to rip out the like bidwell related memorabilia and stuff inside of the Hall of Fame. You did take a picture and put it in our slack and you were not happy about it. No. No, I, you know, you just wonder what life would have been like if somebody else owned the Cardinals. That's all I'm saying. All right.
Starting point is 00:02:49 Welcome into the show. It's a super show today, a super flex mock draft episode, live, the three of us. And an assortment of our producers and writing staff and contributors to the show will be participating as well. So we're going to get right into that mock draft very soon. It does seem like we have some news to catch up on. We just got back into town. Let's do it. News and notes from around the league. Still world foosball champions, by the way.
Starting point is 00:03:22 at any at any fantasy football conference event. I'm talking to you, Matt Walsh. We haven't played in years. We hadn't played in years. And we got down two nothing. And it was 10-3 before you knew it.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Absolutely dominated that. Dominated the golf sim. Yeah. Jason? I wrecked that ceiling. You did. One yard in front of me. That ceiling had a spot that was crying.
Starting point is 00:03:51 So they had a competition. there and I know we're supposed to be talking news, but I do want to share this. This is news. They had a competition there where it was like closest to pin, but it was like 173 yard shot. I think my closest to pin might have been 174 yards. Did you ever see that I put you on the board? That's what... I did
Starting point is 00:04:09 and it was 175 years. Yes, yes. So there's a board where you put in how close you got, and I snuck over there and put Jason's range to the pin, but I was hoping you saw it. How close did you get? 18 yards. Andy was very good. I think I was 40.
Starting point is 00:04:24 Yeah. I mean, we got beat. I mean, there were other people that were people that were within feet of it. Yeah. But, uh, all right. NFL news. Jacoby Berset, the drama is over NFL.
Starting point is 00:04:35 The national nightmare. New deal includes 15.5 million in base salary. Worth up to 21 in incentives that he won't hit. I think the base was essentially like a $10 million raise. So it's good. Good. Get that shmoney, Jacoby. Uh, Mary K.
Starting point is 00:04:52 but reporting Quinshawn Judkins will be full go for Brown's camp. We've seen quite a bit of video of Judkins. He looks healthy. It feels like most people that had some kind of, you know, season-ending injury last year are going to be fine to start this, you know, Camp Scataboo, Judkins. We got news about Daniel Jones. Mahomes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:14 It's everyone but Malik. Who isn't on Pupp? I mean, the news most recently was he's starting camp not on Pup. That does not mean that he will be there. week one, I still will be surprised if he is, but it's great news to see that it's, you know, progressing in a manner that he is participating. If I had them on my team and I got that news, I'd be very encouraged. I mean, Alec Pierce is on Pup.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Yeah. So, you know, they'll put a lot of players on there. The fact that they did not put Malik on there thus far, I think that's great news. But, yeah, Daniel Jones says he's going to be a full go to start training camp. Alec Pierce starts on the Pup list. He's a week or two away from returning, though, according to. to GM Chris Ballard. Tucker Kraft is starting on the Pupp.
Starting point is 00:05:57 So there's one that is not happening quite as fast, but we want to hear camp news about Kraft at some point. Mahomes fully cleared to practice. That's big news. He had comments about the fact that he ran the ball too much last year. That was how his fantasy value was really propped up. And he says he plans to hand the ball off to Kenneth Walker. And let him go to work.
Starting point is 00:06:21 I was reading more positive Walker news just about him spending a lot of time. Because you subs to my blog. Walker only Walker.com. Walker and Senate.com. No, the Walker news is just how much he's working on his receiving chops. Oh, man. And they do have some other people there that can catch the ball if they want to run them out there on third down. But the Ken Walker situation, when you look at what this team did in the draft,
Starting point is 00:06:51 the heavy, heavy investments on a defense that was already a pretty formal defense. I mean, they traded their first, right, for McDuffie? Yeah, and there's just a decent chance that this team's recipe is... Or I'm sorry, they traded him away. Yes, but they... And then they were replacing them. They spent the first on another defensive player. But I don't know, I just feel like the identity of this team, we want to be like,
Starting point is 00:07:18 oh, Mahomes is going to go deep again and find a bunch of... Like, that's not Rashi Rice's game. And who else? You got to wait for Cyrus Allen news to, I mean, the other receiving options, Travis Kelsey, close to the line of scrimmage. Rashi Rice is going to be close to line of scrimmage. Thornton, baby. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:07:36 So we're going to have. Thornton's going to play. He'll be their deep field stretcher, but I do agree that the majority of the work is going to be, you know, play defense, run the ball, pick up first downs in a slow. methodical way and you know you're not going to I don't think you're going to be able to stop the offensive line is very good you're not going to be able to stop Walker and Rice very easily that combo of just like I can get you know I can get six yards all the time yeah I think that if you want to protect Mahomes from himself you get the ball out of his hands quickly you run
Starting point is 00:08:15 the football you play defense there you go Rachi Rice is doing great cleared to go, according to Andy Reid. Okay. Out of jail. Well, he was coming off an injury that we have to also remember. He's going to be really good if he's there and playing, which it seems like he will be. So if you want to buy
Starting point is 00:08:34 low on rice, it might be the time. Kyle Shanahan suffered non-life threatening injuries in a car accident last week. Crazy. It came out. He almost lost his eye. It's a very, very serious injury. This isn't like, oh, no, he got an offender bender.
Starting point is 00:08:50 He's going to be, there's an interim head coach right now kind of taking over duties. I saw one report that there's no timeline on how long that is, including even the entire season. So this is something to really monitor. I would imagine Shanahan will, you know. I think he already made an appearance. Yeah, I mean, he's going to be there leading. But it's something to pay attention to. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:09:16 George Kittal placed on Pupp to start training camp with the Achilles. There's a report that Jordan James appears to be the team's RB2. So that's next man up behind Christian McCaffrey. He's playing ahead of Kalin Black. Gorando is infinitely on the IR. And yeah, we got news that Christian Kirk is dealing with a calf injury. I also saw news about Christian Kirk is a 49er, by the way, right this moment he is. And there's a lot of talk that I was seeing that he won't be on the roster.
Starting point is 00:09:46 Really? Yes, that they don't think I'll be there on day one. Interesting. Dejean's stribling has been, I mean, very, very early into camp, but he's been doing good things. Brock Purdy's spoken very highly of him. So if you've got the young guns, and obviously they brought in Mike Evans as their veteran, maybe you don't need Kirk. And Brandon Ayuk remains on the left squad list. That would be he left the squad.
Starting point is 00:10:10 But he did buy a home in Washington. And I thought I'd saw something about a tattoo. Was that real? Oh, a tattoo by him about being on the commanders or something? what is happening he he definitely has been on social media basically talking about how he is a commander go i don't know how real it was but i mean who knows he is he is currently a 49er and the 49ers have all the cards he can't just he's not allowed to just be like i'm not one anymore no it's it's super super he's just gonna show up it's me washington commander brandon iuk i think friend of the show
Starting point is 00:10:45 Harmon was tweeting out. He's like, there's a non-zero chance he shows up at camp. Oh, for sure. Yeah. Right now while he's under contract for the 49ers. Yeah. All right. We want to jump right into the mock draft. It is a good time to remind you about the ultimate draft kit, which now has our new mock draft tool amongst all
Starting point is 00:11:01 of our player rankings, our stat projections. So many tools and resources in there. 100 plus player profile videos. Sleepers breakouts, bus, values, the values scout tool, so much. We just this morning took another look at all those sleepers, breakouts, bus values, made some tweaks, some changes. We're always staying up to date.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Yep. So check that out. UltimatedraftKit.com. It is part of the ultimate Foot Clan membership as well. You would get that along with everything in season. If you want to check that out, join the foot.com. The fantasy footballers mock draft. It is a super mock draft, 12-team half-pr, super flexed mock on the show today. So, yeah, we get a play around with two quarterbacks. two running backs, two wide receivers,
Starting point is 00:11:52 a tight end and a flex, four bench spots. Mike, you drew the first spot in the draft. I did. Jason drew the four spot. I'm at eight. And away we go. I have the first pick. I know I'm pretty vocal about how I handle my strategy
Starting point is 00:12:09 when it comes to quarterbacks. But if I have the first pick, I'm taking Josh Allen. Yeah, Superflex. You know, Mike, you've talked a lot about where you wait for your second one, oftentimes. Or even my first one. It just comes down to the tiers of like,
Starting point is 00:12:25 I'm not going to take a tier three quarterback over a tier one superstar at a different position just because I have to have two quarterbacks. I believe in figuring it out as the draft goes. After Alan Lamar Jackson goes to Kurt, the Borgogan... So there you go. Kyle's going Gibbs. Yeah, he took Jimmy or Gibbs at 103. Yeah, I don't blame him.
Starting point is 00:12:47 I think that, you know, Gibbs being there, and I'm going to take Bejohn here at 4. I thought I was going to end up with Lamar Jackson. In a super flex, you do not have to have two quarterbacks. It's not a two quarterback league. It's a super flex. Obviously, quarterback score more. You want to have two good quarterbacks, but when you can get an elite at any position, you take it. So I'm going to take Bejohn here above my third ranked quarterback because Bejon is obviously in that elite of the elite tier at a very
Starting point is 00:13:17 scarce position as well. Yeah, I mean, it makes sense. And we're on a run of non-quarterbacks here because of the value. Gibbs, Bejohn to Jason, then Puka and Chase go next. Cash money taking Drake May there. But the 99 in the 2000. The 107 spot puts me on the clock at 108. I've been seeing Drake, man. I brought this up in another mock. You know, go third quite often now. Is that where you guys would take him? Four point touchdown leagues, I wouldn't, but in six point, I have him at two. I would not, but it doesn't. The clump of the next quarterbacks, it doesn't bother me if you want to take May.
Starting point is 00:14:00 Yeah, I'm in a spot where it's a little bit tough at 1-0 way, where I think I'm going to just take a quarterback. I've got options here at the position. A couple of the Russian quarterbacks, Hertz, and Jaden Daniels, Joe Burrow as well. I don't know if I want to wait eight picks and see myself drop down a tier at the quarterback position. So I'm going to take a shot on Burrow and see what happens putting producer Borland on the clock. Four quarterbacks off, four non-quarterbacks off in the first eight picks. And, you know, again, just talking Superflex strategy, it's a supply demand situation.
Starting point is 00:14:37 Absolutely. 75% of the NFL's quarterbacks are starting in a 12-team Superflex league. It doesn't change everything about your strategy. It changes the supply and demand factor for the quarterback position. After my borough pick, Jaden Daniels goes to producer Borland, probably thinking the same thing. Not sure if you wanted to wait through. But value is where the next three picks went.
Starting point is 00:15:02 J.S.N. Amon-Raw-St. Brown and C.D. Lamb, wrapping up the first round. We're moving into the second round. We'll take a break and I'll catch you up. All right. Interesting strategy here by the three. teams at the end of this Superflex mock draft. They went Cook, McCaffrey, Jonathan Taylor with the next three picks. So they will have a long way in piecing together, a quarterback position.
Starting point is 00:15:36 Gentie goes at 204, puts me back on the clock. I'm going to go with a guy. I don't know if I've ever drafted him in a mock draft we've ever done. I'm going to take Kenneth Walker. I'm going to take Kenneth Walker at 205. Jefferson was on the board. I'm I'm still a little bit shaky there. Sure. Maybe that would have been the right pick, but I'm going to go ahead and take Ken Walker and solidify the running back spot.
Starting point is 00:16:07 Brock Bowers first tight end off the board goes next. Caleb Williams goes next. Unsurprisingly to Chicago fan, Jake. Dak, off the board in the second round to Julia. Jason, you're back on the clock. Bejohn was your round one pick. I am pretty thrilled here. the fact that I started with Bijon, my quarterback four in four-point passing touchdowns is still
Starting point is 00:16:33 on the board here in the second round. That hurts? That is Jalen Hertz. In this format, you know, I know he only had eight rushing touchdowns last year, but he's usually up at, you know, 12 to 15 the years prior. And my man, Sean Mannion, going to get that offense turned around. It was so when we did the NFC East show, the comments were so polarizing. Oh, of course.
Starting point is 00:16:56 It was like either you're dumb not to take Hertz super high, you're stupid, or it was like this often sucks, the quarterback sucks, no AJ Brown is going to mean he sucks. Very few people are purely neutral on Jalen Hertz. They either think that he is overrated or underrated. All right, two rounds in the books are about to be, Mike's on the clock. After the Bowers pick, Caleb Dack, Jalen Hurts, and then Jefferson goes at 210 here. A. Chan, Devon A. Chan at 2.11. Mike, you've got two picks back to back here.
Starting point is 00:17:27 You got Josh Allen in the first. It seems like a nice spot to be in a Superflex. Yes, it's not too bad. The running backs, by my estimation, there are still, if you guys left, who can be true top five difference makers. The wide receiver tier of guys right now is pretty compact. But I'm not leaving without a quarterback.
Starting point is 00:17:52 I'm sorry, you have a running back here. So I'm taking Chase Brown. who I just I feel like is about as safe as they come for fantasy with still having massive upside and then
Starting point is 00:18:07 it's funny it's the I think I talked about it on our last mock but just the the click of Rashid Rice doesn't feel great it just like you know when you get the dopamine hit from the draft pick but it's he's gonna be really solid for fantasy so
Starting point is 00:18:25 I'm going, Chase Brown and Rishi Rice as the foundation. All right, Hampton goes next at 302. Wanted him. Sequin at 303, Jason. You're back on the clock, Bijon and hurts. It's funny because I feel like I'm very happy. A lot of times when my Superflex strategies, I'm going to take kind of the hero quarterback.
Starting point is 00:18:48 And if I can get one of the elite quarterbacks, then I will punt for a while. I assumed I wasn't going to do that because I didn't spend my first pick on a quarterback. I feel like I got him in the second in the second round anyways. And then I got Bijan to boot with that. You feel like you got your quarterback in the second round? I feel like I got an elite quarterback in the second. As opposed to
Starting point is 00:19:04 having to spend my first, I was able to get that tier one quarterback. I think that might be the fairest debate on Hertz possible. It's not whether he's good or not. It's just whether he's in that tier. And I would say that it really, he is one of those that is very scoring
Starting point is 00:19:20 format dependent. You know, he takes a hit in six point passing leagues and gets a bonus when it's only four. I was between two players, Amarian Hampton and Drake London. Drake fell to me starting with what I feel like is an elite running back, an elite quarterback, an elite wide receiver gives me flexibility going elsewhere. Well, and I know one of your rules this year is you want as many Falcons as possible. Yeah, you know, a lot of times you're going to avoid a running back and wide receiver from the
Starting point is 00:19:48 same team. There are plenty of situations when you're talking about consolidation of targets where it's like, The whole team is that. You know, similar to I would take Brock Bowers and Genty. I wouldn't even question it. They're a bad team. It's just a consolidation of, you know they're both going to score a ton of fantasy points. Drake London goes at 304, followed by Derek Henry.
Starting point is 00:20:09 Who's next? We got Jeremiah Love and A.J. Brown at 307. Love that pick. Getting the AJ Brown may stack. I assumed. That's fun. I assumed I was going to end up with A.J. Brown at my pick. But you took race.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Well, I have a strategy. in mind here at 308. I'm taking Tray McBride a round later than Brock Bowers as an elite positional advantage. I have a player I'm targeting at 405. I can't reveal it to all these fools on the show.
Starting point is 00:20:38 There's a bunch of clowns. But I want to, I'll let you know if he makes it back around. It's you know, eight picks away, producer Borland on the clock. Tray McBride is the pick to go with Burrow and Ken Walker. I feel good about that foundation. Gentie was the pick by Al last round. Jacobs in the third, and we got a couple more quarterbacks off the board, the first
Starting point is 00:20:58 quarterbacks for these teams at the end of the round. Jackson Dart goes at 310 ahead of Herbert at 311, putting Brooksie on the clock for back-to-back picks. It goes Devante Smith. So only two teams through three rounds have no quarterbacks. I mean, it is, it's a way to go. Brooks has Lamb, Cook, Devante Smith, and one more pick here to start the fourth round. Oh, he's tilting. And he's going zero quarterbacks. Betsy takes Trevor Lawrence at 402. I think that's a great pick.
Starting point is 00:21:34 Nico Collins goes next at 403, putting producer Borland back on the clock. Our team so far, Bejohn Hertz in London for Jason, Alan Brown and Rice for Mike. I'm at Burrow, Ken Walker, and Tray McBride. My plan was... Did the guy make it?
Starting point is 00:21:50 He did. He did. My plan was to wait. Fernando Mendoza. It was. No, it actually was a stack situation that I wanted with T. Higgins. Oh. I was waiting for T. Higgins to come back through. He was going to be in consideration at 308, but with Tray McBride on the board, I took him.
Starting point is 00:22:09 Love that. So I stacked Burrow and Higgins here in the fourth. And, yeah, I feel pretty good about it. I mean, I'm going to definitely be keeping my eye on the quarterback position from here on out. I mean, we all have different approaches to that, but it's going to be tier-based. That's what we put in the UDK. If there is the final quarterback of a certain tier available to me
Starting point is 00:22:30 in any of the next three, four rounds, that's where I'm going to go. So we're on a wide receiver run, though, here. Nico Pickens, I took Higgins. What's going on here? Then Oliva and Tet McMillan go off the board. So pretty heavy running back run from the second to third, and now a pretty heavy wide receiver run here in the fourth round.
Starting point is 00:22:51 so Julia on the clock she has puka, Dack, and Henry, she goes Stafford. She wanted her stack. Stafford would have been, I mean, definitely a target in two quarterback leagues for me. Stafford is. Okay. I feel like the age, he's going to get kicked down a lot of, you know, ADP boards. People are drafting off of ADP. That is definitely a super flex target for me, but we got too many sharps in this in this mock.
Starting point is 00:23:19 Jason. Yeah. I'm sitting here. There's a lot of good players. There's a handful of running backs that I still like that I could pick with my next pick. Wide receivers, you've got the question at this point in the draft. Where do you draft Malik neighbors? That will be interesting in all drafts going on right now. And a handful of guys I like there. In this, because it's a super flex, I'm going to punt the tight end position. I just want to have more shots at either the quarterback or the running backs and wide receivers. I'm going to go super late on my tight end. I'll take that. I'll take the shot. I'm going to have more shots at either the quarterback or the running backs and wide receivers. I'm going to go super late on my tight end. I'll take the last one. I don't care. That means, you know, I don't usually take two quarterbacks in the first four rounds in my super flexes, but I think that in a four point per passing league, Bo Nix is, I mean, we're talking right now, is he, I don't even think he's being drafted as a quarterback one. And I think he's very undervalued. So here, to be able to start with Hertz and Bo Nix in a super flex, I'm going to march along that path.
Starting point is 00:24:23 On your Leporta path to taking a tight in at the end named Sam Leporta. Bo Nix at 409, Brock Purdy at 410. Those were the two guys that I wanted there in the fifth, if I was going to take one right now. Mike, you're back on the clock. Abuka goes right before you. Abuka was the guy. I almost took him there, but I assumed because he was very low in ADP
Starting point is 00:24:44 that he might come back to me. And of course, like you said, we're in a room full of sharps. Before my, before my, Before my makes his pick, in the middle of this round, I wrote down the two picks I thought you were going to take at the end of this draft or at the end of this round. For my four, five turn? For your four five. You did it early. I wrote it.
Starting point is 00:24:59 Yeah, I wrote it down very early. So I bet you'll get at least one. Jason's peeking over. Yeah, I mean, technically I wrote down two combos. Those are the two combos I thought. Well, whoa, whoa, wait a minute. So you wrote down like four guys? Listen, no, I wrote down one guy twice and then I just couldn't decide between the other one.
Starting point is 00:25:17 All right, all right. So I wrote them both down. Okay. If I write enough names down, I will be right. That's where I was getting at. But, you know, you just said you think I'll get it right. So where are you going here at the turn? So I'm taking a tight end, guys.
Starting point is 00:25:32 So I'm taking Mr. Loveland. I want that positional advantage. I know it'll, it's like T. McBride. So you have McBride and Higgins and you're like, wow, are you sure you want T. Higgins as your wide receiver one? He's, it, he is, but he's not. Like, Trey McBride is your wide receiver one. and T. Higgins, it's just a different way to
Starting point is 00:25:54 approach it, but Mr. Loveland at 412 and, man, Malik is interesting here to try and build a team that will just get better and better and better. But I know that Zayflowers won't make it back to me, so I'm just going to take him. Yeah, I mean, my entire prediction was predicated
Starting point is 00:26:21 on you taking Luther Burden. And you went with his teammate, Colston Loveland. Because we say that. Like the, in the gang wars, in the street fight that is Luther Burden versus Romo Dunezay, and we come out, we're snapping. Yeah. I'm a burden guy. And they're like, I'm a Rome guy.
Starting point is 00:26:38 And then Colston Lovelin just shows up with like a nuke. And he's like, it was me all along, you idiots. Well, yeah, I know you love Zayflowers. I know you love Colston Loveland. those are the picks. Neighbors does go next. Tyler Warren, off the board in the fifth round. Three picks behind. Kyle and Shambles because I didn't let him get Loveland.
Starting point is 00:27:02 Oh, he would never. Oh, he would because he's trying to overcompensate for how much he hates him. He hates him so much. Oh, that would have been the, yeah, that would have been like the first step towards redemption in the public eye. It's the, I'm taking him away from you. You don't get to have fun. That's true.
Starting point is 00:27:17 Jason, you're back on the clock. You do have the double quarterback so far. far it for what it's worth through four rounds there are what is this one two three teams that have both quarterbacks yeah and and so for how do you feel with it being so abuka lovelin flowers neighbors warren do you feel like you you you got away with it oh yeah yeah i mean i i i i did i was between two players on the last time i picked other than in the quarterback position it was the guy i'm going to take or abuca oh so the guy i was going to take already felt me, so I'm pretty happy there. But the question that I would be having and that I do have,
Starting point is 00:27:55 when you have two quarterbacks here and you're at the fifth pick, you're going to be weak at one, like by the time it comes back, my running back or wide receiver, I'm not going to like who's left. I'm just not. And so why I'm going to pick a wide receiver is because I've got Bijon. I think I can play more HiroRB here. And so Drake London is a little bit weaker than Bijon, so I'm going to go wide receiver. You guys know. You guys know. how much I love Gino Smith. So I will take Garrett Wilson. I had a feeling Garrett was going to be, I thought he might be the 409. He was the target for me in this round. But so Garrett, I know that's that's the direction you went. Did you consider Waddle there? Like were you,
Starting point is 00:28:38 were you willing to move Waddle up a couple spots to? Because of the stack. Yeah. He wasn't really a guy I was targeting. I because I'm only drafting my wide receiver two, I just really want a guaranteed like 150 targets. I want that volume. I do think Waddle has the shot to be good, and obviously the stack is nice, but I wouldn't take them over Wilson. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:02 After Garrett Wilson, Scataboo, Breece Hall, Jared Gaw, and I did take Luther Bird. I took him here at 5-08. After Higgins in the previous round, we'll see. I have another player I'm hoping gets back to me. I got to wait eight picks.
Starting point is 00:29:20 So producer bowling on the clock, still with one quarterback as well. Jane Daniels in the first has Gentry Jacobs and Pickens. So here we are at 509. That's all the delaying I can do for you. I don't know if you noticed what I was doing there, Hal. I did that actually put extra pressure on me. Well, I do what I can. Baker Mayfield.
Starting point is 00:29:43 Did we share that news? No, I don't think so. He has said he is going to play out the final year of his contract, the negotiations didn't go where they wanted to go. I mean... And that's not a bad strategy as a quarterback where if you don't get the number you want, you're going to be in high demand.
Starting point is 00:29:56 I mean, Kirk Cousins had great success kind of letting himself run out of contract that they get franchised and they get franchised. That on yourself. Make a ton of money. But also, if the season goes poorly, which it did last year, you could end up with a team that moves on from you.
Starting point is 00:30:13 It's not a guarantee that they resigned him next year. So he... But that's fine. I mean, come be a cardinal. We'd be happy. We were happy with anything. Baker, McConkey,
Starting point is 00:30:26 McLorin. One of the reasons I took burden, by the way, was because I was trying to see if McConkey could make it back through his ADP. His ADP wasn't the next man out, but I've risen quite a bit on Ladd-McConkey. Not in the Falcons house. No.
Starting point is 00:30:40 Terry McLoran and then Giovante Williams rounding out the fifth round. Which after, so Brooks, so you can chime in in the, in the chat here. Al Borland takes Baker as his QB2 and then Brooks immediately
Starting point is 00:30:57 shouted regrets. So you were targeting Baker. So he will, okay, he won a copper but that's what I mean of the like, this is the part of the strategy is you can push a little bit too far for how you want to play.
Starting point is 00:31:14 I find that when you are playing the game of how late can I wait on it? When, when you, you're playing the game of how late can I wait on a position it is by far the most difficult strategy to do when you're on the turn you have so many picks between uh your turn to pick that is it's just you've got to get so lucky to be able to play that strategy and have it hit i would much rather you know play with fire if i'm at the the fourth pick or the eighth pick where there's a you know i could see what happens between some some uh some of my picks all right well
Starting point is 00:31:49 Well, Mahomes was the quarterback Brooks he went with to start the sixth. Then Waddle, Bucky drops the 603. So I had thought about taking him at 5 away, and I was surprised he had dropped that far. He went way behind even like Scat and Breece Hall. Man. That could be a steal. Sorry, do you feel like you're in on Bucky? I wouldn't use that language publicly.
Starting point is 00:32:15 Okay. Well, I was saying he, Bucky is shaping up as one of those. I'm somewhat optimistic. Okay. I'm on that side. It's very just nebulous for me. I know a guy who's in, a friend of mine. Of sometimes there will just be players.
Starting point is 00:32:31 You got to make a decision of like, I'm okay being wrong. I'm okay passing Bucky because I know what can happen. Pass the buck? Yeah. I know someone could take him and you're like, oh, Bucky Irving is back. He's back to being a top 10 guy. but the way that I'm feeling all the vibes and what's going on with the team
Starting point is 00:32:54 and the addition of Kenneth Gainwell, I think I'm just going to let other people take it. See, the nice thing about taking Bucky is a lot of times when you're in the middle rounds, like we are now in the 6th, you're getting a guy who's fine and is going to stay in the 6th, but Bucky is the type of guy that, like, you could be getting a steal. You could be getting an actual real good value. Yes.
Starting point is 00:33:12 All right, guys, we're going to play a game for my pick here. I'm on the clock, Borough, Walker, McBride, Higgins, and Burden. I have two players that I'm between, and they are both sort of in the last of a tier to me. Okay. And I want you two to determine my pick, and this is how it's going to work. I'm going to give you the two names, and then you're going to write on your little boards. And if you both write the same name, that's the pick. If you don't, I'll make the pick myself.
Starting point is 00:33:36 What if one of your names is a guy I want, then I'm going to write the other name. I know you would do that. I'm between Jordan Love, who I think is the final quarterback in a tier I like here, or Travis A. Chan Jr., who I think is the final running back in a tier here. I have one running back. I have one quarterback. Ken Walker is my RB1.
Starting point is 00:33:57 Joe Burroughs my RB2, and I'm fine with either pick. So if you guys... You just said Joe Burroughs your RB2. Well, he is also going to play quarterback for me. So go ahead and write the name down that you think I should take. The final in a tier for either one. If you don't agree, then I'll just side myself.
Starting point is 00:34:15 Okay. I wrote Van Wendell. I think you should take. And you wrote different names. Love and that was my way of getting out of that pick. It didn't work. Mike wrote A-chan and then I get to decide which of you I kind of like. Fernando. Mendoza. I'm going to take Travis A. Chan. Yeah, that's right. It was close. That's right. I did it. We'll see what happens at the quarterback position and how much people want to torment me. But I went A-chan because you couldn't agree. Jameson goes next. Adunze at 6-07. I always want to watch and see what.
Starting point is 00:34:46 How, Julia. Julia took Christian Watson next. Mike was targeting Christian Watson, I see. I am thrilled and full disclosure. I definitely would have gone Travis H.N. Jr. You wrote it down because you wanted it. I need a running back. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:03 I knew he'd do it. I knew he'd do it. I told you I'd do it. I know. I'm trying to host a show. Made of my word. Make it interesting and all that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:11 It was great. And then you did the right thing and you took Travis H.N. Jr., which bothered me because I thought there's no way the guy I really wanted would come back to me. A guy I almost took with my last pick and that was a far turn. It was Anchan Jr. No, it was, it was Travo. I am in on Trayvion Henderson. Henderson falling to this point is pretty wide.
Starting point is 00:35:31 I think the upside is my, as, you know, in the late sixth. When you look at all the running backs that are off the board, that is the first name in a committee, in a true committee, that you don't know if he's the one or two. unless Bucky is. Yeah, but I mean, I think, I think, look, when the depth charts come out, I can promise you Trayvion will not be number one. Oh, no, no, he will not.
Starting point is 00:35:55 So Carnell Tate goes next, love that pick. Kyle, love it. Cardinal Tate, sneaky. Baychall Tudin goes at 611. That probably would have been Mike's pick. Yeah, so I was thinking about this, you know, how do I want to handle this turn here? Bachel Tutin and Watson would have There's no way I could have passed on both of those guys
Starting point is 00:36:19 And DeAndre Swift is still there I think that it's a very strong pick But I'm on the turn here I'm trying to look at the landscape You know the quarterbacks are starting to saturate out there And there's a chance that this player might get back to me But this is I mean This is going to feel fun.
Starting point is 00:36:44 So I'm going to... Oh, yeah. Go ahead. Okay, I'm going to take a stack right here. I'm taking Tyler Shuck. Yeah, that's why I said go ahead. And I'm taking Jordan Tyson. I love it.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Nice. That's fun. See? It's exact where it's like, I think Dander Swift for my rankings and projections, that's like it's the more practical thing to do. But I'm in the sixth, seven turn here. Sometimes I'm going to have a little bit of fun.
Starting point is 00:37:08 And of course, Jordan Love just went to Kyle, who lives to, do stuff like that. I thought he might make it all the way back. That was one of the reasons to go A-T-N as well, is that there were three teams now four with Mike and Chuck that already had the combo, so I only had to have three teams pass on love.
Starting point is 00:37:26 They didn't. Tyson, Evans, love to start the seventh round. We'll take a break and continue. Well, Mr. Moore is back on the clock, and I know what you're thinking. You're thinking I compare Trayvion-Hinderson in the sixth with Ramandre in the second. lock up the pass. Let's do it. It's so tempting. It has to be between Ramondre and DJ
Starting point is 00:37:55 more for you. That's what I think. It is between neither of those guys for sure. There's a wide receiver that I really want on the team. Honestly, I was very upset at Kurt here grabbing Mike Evans that late in the seventh. I was going to be thrilled to grab him. But with that pick, I think there's much more depth at wide receiver. The running backs will dry up very, very soon, and there's only a few left that I like. DeAndre Swift sitting there. We know he's going to be a running back too. He's always a running back two.
Starting point is 00:38:30 To grab him as my running back three gives me a little bit of safety with the risk of Trevo pick. So, yeah, I agree with that. Bejohn, Henderson, and Swift, I am solid at running back. Happy with that. Do that solid movement again. I am solid. Is that what that? That looks like a little bit of like a blocking.
Starting point is 00:38:47 Yeah, it's like a tackle. Yeah, it's a tackle. But the camera's very narrow. So I got to get it. Got to get it in here. Got to get in tight. Yeah, you're going inside technique. I'm going inside the man boobs, not inside the armpits.
Starting point is 00:38:59 I got, I'm, I'm separating. You better hope that guy doesn't have a spin move. Yeah. Because I think you're in big, big trouble. You ever ask a guy to make a movement and then he does like 75 times? Yeah. You asked for it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:10 All right. Jason goes swift. I would have taken Judkins. It was between Swift and Judkins, 100%. The reason I went Swift was solely because I went Trayvion Henderson. I felt like Swift was the more safe pick, and Trayvion was a risky pick. Did you just call him Quintan Baskins? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:30 I've been holding back my feelings way too long, and I'm going to let it out. I know, but I'm going to let it out. I am so out. They're wrong feelings. Do you know what I mean? Which part is the part you like? the complete and total lack of a quarterback, potentially the worst offensive line in the NFL,
Starting point is 00:39:50 the fact that their defense is going to stink and they're going to be getting blown out and have to throw. How many of those things were true last year? Two. Two of the three. So you think... The defense was a... I mean, the defense was obviously... ...was very intact last year. ...is going to be impacted.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Yeah. But Judkins was a special player when he was on the field, in my opinion. But I get it. and he goes in the seventh. Sam Darno goes next. David Montgomery at 707 puts me back on the clock. Here's my problem. My problem is that the actual QB, well, it's not a problem.
Starting point is 00:40:27 Maybe it's a solution. The next quarterback for my team is just not well thought of. The quarterback that I actually want is just not somebody I think that anybody really wants. So I guess I'll just keep waiting. No, I know who it is and I dare you. I think I keep waiting. Think I know who it is based on what you're saying, but it is surprising. I'm setting myself up in this draft to be ruined.
Starting point is 00:40:51 But Bryce Young. I'm going to take Marvin Harrison Jr. here. I'm going to take Marf in the seventh. All right. Big Marf. Already getting hurt. I like it. Round. Yeah, all those muscles not helping him with his.
Starting point is 00:41:03 More muscles to get hurt. Upper body is fine. You can be too fast. We used to play in a flag football league. We wouldn't get hurt because. I couldn't injure myself. We're not quick enough, but the quick young kids, they're moving too fast. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:16 If you are slow, it is very difficult to get injured. And your quarterback just went, by the way. Yeah, it's fine. I mean, if anybody... Also, you are so in on Arizona? Yeah, I've got a pair. Gedarian Price goes next. Brian Thomas Jr., Tucker Kraft, Michael Wilson, to round out the seventh.
Starting point is 00:41:39 Daniel Jones, Ramondre, and then Malik Willis, because I should know that the people that were drafting with just, they're those kind of people. Like the Falcon, it's like he's a waste to include here. Because he just lives to troll. I couldn't agree more. Anybody with integrity. Malik Willis.
Starting point is 00:41:58 His icon is a toilet. He would have allowed this situation to proceed. Malik Willis right there. I mean, Malik Willis, it is a four point per touchdown league. It's actually a pretty good pick. Well, of course it is because I gave him the idea. I can't believe he didn't do it. To be fair, when you were saying that,
Starting point is 00:42:15 I thought you were talking about C.J. Stroud, a player that nobody really likes that you might have next on your list. So I don't think it was a guarantee. You didn't say I want Malik neighbors or Malik Willis. Well, maybe you couldn't put the clues together, but that guy could. I promised you that. You're giving him a lot of credit right now. He made it very, very clear.
Starting point is 00:42:34 I'll take Kyler here in the eighth round. Is it back up? Van and went just... before the Falcon would like you to know it wasn't a troll he was never making it back he was in his queue and let me just say this is a better pick than Malik Willis you're a liar you're lying you're lying you're the troll and you troll maybe all right um to pay the toll I took Kyler and I'm not thrilled uh Jalen Warren Blake Corum Sam Loporta now that's a troll too that did feel like a troll trying to snag my Sammy L right before me.
Starting point is 00:43:14 But I said I'm going to take the last one. I don't care. I'm going to show my fearlessness or stupidity by I will take. My last pick will be my tight end. In the meantime, the wide receiver that I wanted last round came back to me. This draft has worked out pretty well most of the time. I want the stack. Mike, you got the Tyler Shuck rookie stack.
Starting point is 00:43:38 with Jordan Tyson. I took Jalen Hertz early. I'm taking Mackay Lemon, the other one of the top three rookie wide receivers this year. And when he is now my wide receiver three, I feel pretty good about it. All right, Mike, you're back on the clock after Leporto
Starting point is 00:43:54 went Lemon to Jason, DJ Moore, Parker Washington. We're back on the clock. I know one of my picks for sure. I have been riding Chase Brown as my hero running back. And then done the skies they just light up r j harvey and jk david david's there for me at 812 he is always
Starting point is 00:44:16 he is always your late round running back that works well for your oh i was sweating it's getting a little sweaty there guys um so then the remains of the the running back position harvey's still there if i just for whatever reason i want all of the the denver broncos Kyle Monongai It feels a bit Too early for For him Although it could work out
Starting point is 00:44:47 Kenneth Gainwell is interesting Um Wide receiver wise The the tier here is pretty flat Of DK Metcalf which Hey it It's not nothing but There was Mike McCarthy was saying
Starting point is 00:45:01 Oh we're going to move DKMetkaff around You're like oh Thank you Like this is like from the field of the bench No no just actually around on the like Nice Get get your giant some mismatches It seems like a really good idea
Starting point is 00:45:18 And We're in a tough spot here I know that he is on the pop I don't love that But it's the ninth And I'm going to take Alec Pierce Well that that's unfortunate It's a great pick this late
Starting point is 00:45:36 in the ninth. If you, if you are one of the believers, like I know both you and Andy are. Just believe in the money. I believe in the talent, but it's like, it's a great pick.
Starting point is 00:45:47 Money-wise, you got to get those targets up unless you are just really, really bad at your job. Yeah, I mean, it's a guarantee. I bet my life on. Oh, whoa.
Starting point is 00:46:00 It is 100% guarantee. I mean, wait, what is the guarantee? That he gets his targets up after getting $100,000-something million dollars and Michael Pimmy gets traded away. Yeah, he'll definitely get his targets up for sure.
Starting point is 00:46:09 Yeah. Or I'm dead. All right, Pierce, Camorne, Jonathan Brooks. All right, we got to wrap this draft up. We got four rounds left, Jason. You're on the clock. We'll speed it up. I didn't take the Wattle stack.
Starting point is 00:46:20 This is the first time I've drafted him. But I'm going to take Cortland Sutton here. In the ninth round to stack with Bo Nix. That's not bad. I'll go Lemon and Sutton back-to-back stack picks. It's too bad. There's not a line. Nice.
Starting point is 00:46:33 Quentin Johnston, Arronday Gadsden, and Tony Pollard. Team Citrus. I will take Chuba Hubbard here, the starting running back for Carolina. John then Brooks went five picks ahead of him. It was kind of interesting. Producer Borland on the clock,
Starting point is 00:46:48 he goes D.K. Metcalfe. And R.J. Harvey at 910. R.J. Harvey at 910 is perfectly fine. Everything about the Broncos situation was just Harvey going in the fourth and Dobbins going later. The ADP has kind of corrected itself, although they both just go later now.
Starting point is 00:47:07 So there's value. Agreed. All right. Next. Metcalfe, Harvey, Pearsall, Kittle. Kittal at 912. That's fun. Good value. Going to have to find another starter,
Starting point is 00:47:20 maybe for the start of the year. Jacoby Berset. I mean, if the, I think a nice thing about George Kittle, which we haven't talked about a ton this year, because my confidence in Kittal being ready to go and being an impact player sooner is, it's growing.
Starting point is 00:47:35 But if Kiddo misses time, Jake Tonjas McBasketball filled in unbelievable for George Kittle. If you have to stream your tight end position and it's Brock Purdy's tight end in the Shanahan head system,
Starting point is 00:47:49 you're gonna get points. Jacoby goes in the 10th round, so Brooks, who didn't take a quarterback for the first five picks, ends up with Mahomes, Daniel Jones, and Jacoby. Honestly?
Starting point is 00:48:00 Not that bad. That's not that bad. Between those three, you should be able to stream your starting two pretty easily. Gainwell. Gainwell goes in the 10th, C.J. Stroud Fernando Mendoza.
Starting point is 00:48:13 Putting me back on the clock. I have both of the backfield mates in Minnesota sitting there. So I could make a decision with Jordan Mason or Aaron Jones. It's a team that wants to run the ball a lot this year. The wide receiver position, Wondale is sitting out there.
Starting point is 00:48:31 Jaden Reed with the upside in Green Bay, or I could take a shot and add a third quarterback. I was going to say you could add the apparently the starting running back for the Arizona Cardinals. Right. James Connor is there. Still available.
Starting point is 00:48:46 We didn't even talk about that because it's not worth talking about. I'm alluding to it right now. Yeah, the fact that the fake offensive coordinator of the Cardinals came out to say oh, Connor, you know, he's good. And then, you know, he's a rookie. I will
Starting point is 00:49:02 That was his voice Oh yeah for sure I will bring it up Because I was Reminded of like He like people like Hey you guys Like Matt Nagy
Starting point is 00:49:11 We give Matt Nagy Just so much crap Of how is this person Getting a job I mean shout out to Nathaniel Hackett How's my man still How are you getting Dude
Starting point is 00:49:21 How are you still getting jobs That was a long time ago When you were good And it was Aaron Rogers It's like It's a little bit less Because He won't be
Starting point is 00:49:29 I know he's the OC wink you know so it won't necessarily be going his way but stop giving him jobs I went with Jordan Mason here in the 10th round yeah that's a great pick Monongai goes next to Kobe Myers and Aaron Jones there was no way I could not take
Starting point is 00:49:46 Jordan Mason if he came to me he is the last I think he's the starter the last one of the league here I have him ahead of Aaron Jones personally I think is a phenomenal pick in the 10th round Well, there's a phenomenal pick available to you in the 10th round, whether you find it or not. We'll see. But there's somebody that is a must pick for you.
Starting point is 00:50:06 You've got to find Waldo. Well, I think there's a handful of guys. I've got four guys in my queue that I really like. One guy that I think will come back to me. But when I look at the quarterback position in the Super Flex League, you're running out of options. I mean, there's very few starters left. In fact, if you want to say how many starters that you're confident, not confident, but like, it's realistic that they finish the entire season.
Starting point is 00:50:32 There's pretty much just... There's one or two. Yeah, Bryce Young, maybe Aaron Rogers. However... Your guy. Your guy. My guy. Oh, Gino.
Starting point is 00:50:43 Bro, the stack? No, I know. And I am doing that. I am taking the stack, but I'm actually... But I'm not taking Gino. I'm taking Tua. I think Tua is better. And he will stack...
Starting point is 00:50:56 Commit to your big. He stacks with Drake London. He doesn't know what his bit is. It's not my bit. It's your guys' his bit. He doesn't know what's going on. My bit is just that the Jets will have a lot more passing yards and opportunities than they did last year.
Starting point is 00:51:11 Will they have more than Elena? Probably not. Which is why I took to it. Pitman and Jaden Reed. Love the Jaden Reed pick there. Mike, you're on the clock. Not last two picks, but... We're pretty close here. Got to make the choice.
Starting point is 00:51:27 on the Washington running back. As of right now, I'll go Bill. And then, ooh, gross. I got to take it. I want to have a third-started quarterback. Because, I mean, we're at the point where most players are pretty gross. I would have taken Tua if Jason had not.
Starting point is 00:51:48 So in the meantime, I'll just take Bryce Young. All right. Bryce Young off the board. And there goes the player that I think was the better difference maker to your roster, Jason. I think if you had taken Kyle Pitts at 1009, that would have been Kyle Pitts as the titan one, two, three, four, five,
Starting point is 00:52:05 six, seven, eight, nine, Titan 10 off the board, but you went Tua. Yeah, I'm committing to my bit of, I will take with my last pick the Tidin, so I will avoid it, I'm not even looking now. But why do that bit? Why decide that you're going to take him with your last pick
Starting point is 00:52:20 and lose the value on Tua? Like Kyle Pitts will make a massive impact to your team. At this point, it would be that's a dumb bit. It could. It absolutely could be or there's, you know, what is the difference between him and
Starting point is 00:52:37 Kelsey this year? But there's actually a there's a tight end I am targeting that I think is a better player and has a chance to be a breakout. So we'll see if I get them. And that's the Falcons only strategy yeah. I don't want. Conception off the board. You're back on the clock. I'm going to take a guy
Starting point is 00:52:53 that, I mean, I think Alec Pierce is a great pick if that's what you believe, I believe it's going to be Josh Downs, which means this is an even better pick. What does that mean? You believe it's going to be Josh Downs? You believe he's going to be better than... I believe that the player who is stepping up as the main possession-wide receiver is going to be Josh Downs.
Starting point is 00:53:12 The larger benefactor of the departure of Michael Pittman. I think that I think that that that play style that Josh Downs takes a larger step up than Alec. Alec Pierce will take a step up for sure. I think Josh Downs takes a much larger step up for what they
Starting point is 00:53:28 previously did. Who's better for fantasy? Who's better for fantasy? That tells the question. I think Alec Pierce, I think Alec Pierce scores more fantasy points this year. I've got him ahead in my rankings, and I would have taken him ahead of Josh Downs,
Starting point is 00:53:41 but I got him rounds later. Gotcha. Okay, I'm taking Matthew Golden here. Ooh, yeah, someone has to do it. In the 11th round. No, no, we don't. Rico, Godwin, Rico, Wondale went first. I went Matthew Golden.
Starting point is 00:53:56 Dobbs goes next Rashad White Jordan Addison and Xavier Worthy and we're on to the 12th round our final round. Britain Strange goes in the 12th round here Aaron Rogers at 1202 Mark Andrews at 1203
Starting point is 00:54:12 and then Al never knows he's on the clock but he is he is on the clock I really let you off the hook for so long but we're here in the 12th it's time to make some moves that's when your hardest decisions come in the 12th
Starting point is 00:54:25 No, I, by the way, I passed on a third quarterback there because I could have taken Aaron Rogers. But to me, the decision that I made was that I'll take McCarthy with my last pick. Oh, okay. I like that. Because then I have the starter. The starter for the Vikings just in case something happens. And I feel like we've seen Rogers for so many years now be like so irrelevant for fantasy
Starting point is 00:54:50 that Kyler or McCarthy seemed better to me. But Gino goes next. Travis Hunter and Jordan James and Jason, your final pick is a tight end. It is and I'm very happy to, nope, it's Dalton Kincaid. I'm looking for upside here. I think that what we've seen on a per route basis from Kincaid has been awesome, but he's been very injured the last two years. The healthiest he's been this year.
Starting point is 00:55:12 And I think he could genuinely be a breakout this year. Like he could be the guy that is in the top five at tight end at the end of the year, ahead of Pitts. That's how I see it. Has he ever had a fully, healthy season yet? No, not really. He's been very bad at a soggy newspaper. He missed three games in
Starting point is 00:55:33 24. He missed like six in 25. And last year he was so banged up that even when he was playing it was like, what was his? His percentage of snaps was crazy low. So that made his per route run metrics were top tier. So Travis Kelsey
Starting point is 00:55:49 is not getting drafted. Not unless you take him right here. I'm not going to. I got Mr. Lowland. Stribling is a really solid pick there. And I think timing of when you are doing your drafts also can influence how you're going to make your picks. So I will take what I think is the best insurance running back in the NFL. I will take Tank Bigsby.
