But you didn't. You didn't lose. Aaron Rogers, two touchdowns played well, 23 for 27. Kenneth Gainwell, you know, you had Jalen Warren report that he was sick. Warren did just enough to beat Jason. Mm-hmm. But not enough to make any fantasy manager happy because Kenneth Gainwell, seven receptions for 46 yards. Kenny Gainwell.

13 for 80. He's been playing so well. Yeah, he really has the, the Steelers do often feel lately it's hot hand. and the hotter hand has been Kenneth Gainwell. Now, Warren can sneak in a touchdown every once in a while, but Warren, Warren's shaping up to be a scarier start to me in the next round of the playoffs. Oh, you had Waller and Pitts on your bench in Dynasty? Yeah, yeah.

And how much you lose by it? What? I lost by two, three, four points, something like that. I lost by less. Yes, in the league I lost. I definitely Look at Mike's face I didn't know you had Waller as well

And honestly If you were just throwing a dart at the wall You would have hit a tight end that won you the game No because I Waller would have been my fourth pick This week Because I was Mark Andrews and Isaiah likely Tell me oh they played who

The Cincinnati Bengals That's who Waller's going to dominate next week I don't believe that Tua only completes eight passes next week That's just my guess Well he completed 22 in this game. No, I'm, yeah, I'm talking about Lamar Jackson, who only completed eight passes. I got you.

Yeah, I mean, I'll be watching. I mean, that'd be fun. What a, that felt, it's a weird game. I mean, what, we hit, what, 43 points, and it felt like, it was basically a 28, nothing shut out. No one was great. Yeah, I mean, D.K. Metcalf started the week, got in the end zone on a, on a great touchdown. Amazing touchdown where he just threw them around like children. Yeah.

That was a really cool play. And it makes you, when you see that play, you think to yourself, like, why don't you just use him more? Like that play was borderline his entire fantasy day. Help me out with this exercise. Three targets for D.K. Three targets? I was kind of doing this mental exercise yesterday, and I didn't go into all the numbers, so I don't know if it's true. But just tell me if you have the same perception.

To me, all Steelers' quarterbacks since Big Ben are the same player. okay that's my that's the thesis yeah okay so whether it's Russell Wilson or Mason Rudolf Aaron Rogers Kenny Pickett even Justin Fields I think they're all the same player and I think that comes down to basically the Steelers offense yeah because they don't like you don't really take advantage of anybody's special ability if you are trying so hard to work Johnny Smith into the office yeah I mean it's funny too because you cars I'm telling you. It's going to work. You can make the argument. You can make the argument, which I think is fair that they don't and have not had a great core of wide receivers. But then you can also

make the argument. You've got D.K. McK., and you just had George Pickens. Yeah, you had enough. You could do more with them. Yeah. This is what, like I said, last week, they were playing a team, the Steelers were playing a team that you couldn't throw to the tight end and all of a sudden they through to D.K. This week, you can use tight ends and all the tight ends were like, I'll get a touchdown. Well, also, Connor Hayward, hopefully you played him. Yeah. It was a, it was a huge bummer. I said, the D.K. Metcalf, that was my biggest takeaway of the week prior. It looked like something was unlocked. Air yards galore, you know, just crushing in the passing game. And they're using DK Metcalf and to come back and have the three targets was a big and they and they won

candidly. So it's like they're not going to change their ways. I'm not that discouraged by it because this game was just a whooping. I mean this game was a defensive dominated game. Next week is 27 pass attempts. So if they need to throw, I think they're still Detroit next week. I mean Detroit's got everything on the line. Pittsburgh's got everything on the line. So that that's more I think that game we got some more optimism. Hope. I don't like that. Why don't you like that? Mike's got D.K. Metcalf. I think that's a very good

matchup for me. Is he in your lineup? Your depth is... You should put him in. He is in my lineup. Fantastic. My final pick will be between Jalen Warren and D.K. Metcalf. So, as of right now, it's D.K. Metcalf. But, come on. When is D. K.K. Metcalfe

ever letting me down this year. D.K. Mikecath. Yeah. You know, D.K. Metcalf is your guy. I mean, everybody knows it. If I win a title, he is. If you're listening for the first time, it's Mike's guy. D.K. Metcalf, D.K. Mikeap.

Let's talk some news. News and notes from Around the League. Presented by Progressive Insurance. Patrick Mahomes will, or already underwent surgery to repair. It got worse. His ACL and his LCL. I think the general opinion is that it complicates the recovery, but not the timeline, is what I've been reading. Yeah, Matthew Betts, our injury guy, also on the Dynasty, DFS, Sharp guy, certified PT.

He talked about the recovery. Mahomes could still be ready by week one, but you should expect a brace on the leg. and that juice we were getting from Patrick Mahomes running this year. He was on pace for 500. Whoa. You're right? 500 throat clears. I'm getting emotional thinking about our matchup. He was on pace for 532 rushing. Yeah, expect that to go away.

Carson Wentz, if you recall back in week 14 of 2017, had a very similar injury. Now, Wence, I believe, had a little meniscus damage. We haven't got a report on that on Mahomes yet. We don't know. But Carson Wins missed two games to start the next year. commanders officially shutting down Jaden Daniels for the rest of the season that left elbow. They wanted to recover. Yeah, it's the right move. The Bengals

said, or head coach Zach Taylor said Joe Burrow will start for the rest of the year because, quote, they want to win? Did Joe Burrow agree? He's a sad boy. I think I think Joe Burrow is an interesting discussion at this point. Yes. Not just

for this week. I mean, obviously him starting the rest of the year not being shut down. probably good. Maybe. Maybe the Joe Flacco world is better. But listen, since he lost an AFC title game or IFC playoffs to Mahomes the year after he went to the Super Bowl, he is something like 17 and 15 in his starts, games that he started. Tua has a better record in games started for Miami since that time.

That is gross. Yeah. And Joe Burrow. Get this man of defense. Well, see, there it is. There it is. Or just an offensive line. I'm just saying, so offense of line defense,

you did give him the best two wide receivers in the game of football. And he did throw for 5,000 yards and 43 touchdowns. But the wins. The wins are what matter. And when, you know, if you look at what Josh Allen has figured out without some of those things at different times in his career, I think the winners win. So, I mean, at some point it falls on him. Did you see the, the video, like, Burrow talking about this particular loss?

Yeah. So, rewind, you know, you had the video that kind of took the internet by storm of a very melancholy Joe Burrow kind of talk. Just the filter went off and it's like, man, Joe Burrow is, he's either having a really, really bad day or like, this guy's having a really tough time right now just with everything the next goal going on with the season. He literally said that. lost season. Why do this if it's not fun anymore? And you know, people, the follow-up question, this was earlier, not post-game.

This was before this bad game. That was his birthday, Matt? And then, oh, man, happy birthday too. Maybe he just felt like he was kind of old. Yeah, I've been there. But he was asked a follow-up question of, is this organizational? Is this personal? And he's like, all

of the above. Yeah. So there's, and then Jamar Chase. How about the $250 million? And then. Hey, money. can't buy you happiness. No. Or love. But it should make you go to your job. Yeah.

You know what I mean? You should probably go to your job. So that was, then that goes to this week after the loss, it was everything. I mean, he was a more angry Joe Burrell. It was there, he's like, he's like the quarterback has to play better. I played to, that might be my, he said zero teams would have won with him at quarterback. Yeah, he's like, I, that was one of my worst games ever. And he just everything, no matter how the reporters tried to steer the.

conversation. Joe Burrow was like, no, Uno card. That was me. I sucked. So I was talking to Jason of so what Joe Burrow do we get next week? Do we get the man who has a little bit snapped out of the funk and now he's just fueled by

the rage and he's going to go out there and he's going to just... I don't think so. Drop 303. Or do we get the... Depressed Saturday? It doesn't matter. I still saw depressed Joe Burrow in this last press conference to me. Okay. That was less anger to me and more depression again.

Not that it's everything, but the over under is still, we got a 50.5 for Cincinnati against Miami. Similar to the Ravens Over Under. Yeah, it's what I said. It's not everything. and I don't always play the best, and it's all mixed together, and, you know, I... We believe in you, Joe. Yeah, I mean, that's the thing. We all like Joe Burrow. love to see him as success. I just... If we could have the Cardinals bring over Joe Burrow, I think we would all be very happy. I think almost every team would say... Almost every team would...

If Joe Burrow magically became available... Do you think if Mahomes or Alan Lamar missed the playoffs three straight years, we would not lay anything at their feet? Yeah, if they are putting up points on the offense, yeah, I think we would forgive him. I mean, Lamar is, like, at least Burroughs made the Super Bowl. Like, Lamar still has his questions of, are they ever going to win? Yeah, last week was a tough one for Burrow. Philip Rivers will start again this week on Monday Night Football.

Just jam-packed of players that could win your title. One, they haven't been playing for anything forever. So we don't have to worry about their playoff scenario. They're as motivated as they have been, which is, I don't know what they're doing. But Jacoby Brissette, Michael Wilson, Trey McBride, maybe a running back, maybe Martin Harrison at some point. All of them are going to be relevant for fantasy. It's great. No defense. Fantastic. Oh, 40 points. They're giving up 40 points, like four out of five weeks or something silly.

I mean, they're head coached. They really need to get a defensive-minded head coach in there. Right, yeah. You see Jonathan Gannon? What's your pitch? What's your pitch for staying with the Cardinals? Did you see that? No. No pitch. I'm worried about Atlanta. Well, yeah. How could you? He doesn't have a pitch. You couldn't have a pitch. What's your pitch for staying with the Cardinals? I've got a contract. I mean, number two. It's nice. Michael Wilson, Michael Wilson is playing for money.

He's in year three. He'll be in year four, able to get an extension or figure that out. Jacoby playing for money. You see the tape on him? And McBride's just playing for records. McBride's going to break the record. Michael Wilson against Stingley. Did you see that? I mean, if you go watch all the reps, his release looks identical on every single rep. And then he does so much with it. It was just like a master class in playing wide receiver. When did he get good? when Marvin Harrison went out. No, he was definitely not always good.

Yes, he was. He was always good. And we have incompetence at the offensive side of the football. Man. And yeah, Marv, take it. Well, yeah, it's funny because you say all this fantasy goodness, which is absolutely true right now. But if Marvin Harrison, Jr., comes back, it kind of ruins it.

I mean, Marv did play well with Harrison before, or with Berset right before he went out. Woody Mark's day to day for the Texans, Drake London, hopeful that he's going to play this week. Why? That was surprising. I really hope he does because I want the Cardinals to lose, and that would be a great thing. And the Bears, a reminder this week for fantasy playoffs, the Bears play on Saturday against Green Bay.

There's two Saturday games this week, right? I believe you're right. Ben Johnson said all options are on the table with Roma Dunzee and that they need to protect him from himself. Like cut it off? No. I mean, he said all options. To cut the foot off?

Yeah. It's not the best option. I thought our philosophy was you could pop a toe off. You can't. But the feet. normally keep. Usually, but when all options are on the table. I guess you've got to take that off the table.

We might put him down. Well, okay, two options are off the table. Okay. Luther burden day to day with an ankle injury. Ricky Pearsall aggravated his PCL injury. Dude, that one. Yeah, you saw it on the field. The pierceal was such a bummer.

And also sprained his ankle. He was finally, he's like, oh, hey look, Ricky Pearsall, you're back. You're in the offense. Hip drop. Rehurt. I don't like this one. Did they, uh, did they call that one? Did they call that?

are up on the website the fantasy footballers.com we're going to talk through some names today you know there is a a high priority right now for managers maybe the highest priority a lot of you are not you've kind of got your lineups locked in.

You might have a flex spot that you're playing around with. That would be one thing waivers can benefit you on. The other thing is going to be defending yourself from your opponent's best options, which means maybe blocking, picking up players, defenses, and keeping them off of their roster. So it's going to be a mix and match of that. If you hear us talk about a name and you don't need that name, but your opponent might need that name. block it like it's hot. Yep.

At running back, the highest opportunity situations, to me, it drills down into two spots. Agreed. Washington and Arizona. Chikori Kraski-Marrett showed what a little consolidation could do. He's fast. Well, he was 18 for 96 and 1, but they play Philly. So that part sucks. But then Dallas in Championship Week, and you don't know if Chris Rodriguez will be back out there,

give him more time. And in Arizona, we have kind of differing opinions there on who we think will be the most productive back. I believe it'll be a Marty Demarcato in the absence of Bam Knight. Mike believes it'll be Michael Carter in the absence of Bam Knight. We have different reasoning for that. I don't disagree with your, you're like, I think you believe Demarcato is the more explosive athlete, maybe a better running back. I don't know that I argue at all with that. I'm on the side of Michael Carter I think he will be the one who gets the most opportunities so I mean highest chance of scoring

the game with Atlanta it might be fun and Carter was Carter was okay you know he had what almost 100 yards from scrimmage that including four receptions 14 carries it's difficult to be the detective and figure out based off of what has happened what will happen

for the Arizona Cardinals because you have it was all over the place of after the the Tray Benson injury Michael Carter ends up being the guy and then Well DiRado had the big touchdown yes that he fumbled and then basically

got benched and then it was like so that but then so Michael Carter's the guy no then Bam Knight's the guy and then Carter gets hurt and that Carter gets hurt demarcato's the guy demarcato does his nonsense and then He also gets hurt, and then this past week it's Michael Carter.

So it's, it's, I don't think it's, it's not like a crystal clear next man up situation. You're just, you're kind of making your best probability. I think they'll see similar snaps. Genuinely, I do. And I think that DiMarcato will be the more productive player. He had a running back 25 and 19 finish before he got hurt. Those were very relevant. That's who I was playing in those weeks.

But I don't disagree that Carter might see the feet. yield a little bit more snap count, but opportunity-wise, I think it'll be similar. Yeah, and Carter will be probably more involved in the receiving game. Like when we have seen them together, it's usually, it's a, it's a tough decision to me as to which one to play. Like I was, before we started this show, before we started recording, we were in a 10-minute, you two are looking up every stat on these two guys debating because you're both like very significantly, you're very significantly on opposite.

You think Carter's a great pickup. You think DeMarcato's a great pickup. And I'm like, I don't know, man. Are either of these truly great pickups if they're splitting? Yeah, that's what does the split come down to? I don't know. But Michael Carter, seven targets, three, six, four, and four. Now, Demarcato missed time in there.

That's what I'm saying of the. It's not, there's not enough sample with them together. Exactly. One game, Carter's coming back from injury, so do you value that? One game, Demarcato's coming back from injury. Both of them are potential spot starts. That's the truth against Elena. Blake Corum,

Blake Corum has been very good. He had a career high in snaps. He scored again this past week. He keeps breaking off big runs. It is Seattle. He is highly rostered. But Corum is viable. Right.

I think personally, one of the most interesting one of the most interesting places to look at running back is the New Orleans Saints. Their offense has been doing well with Tyler Shuck. They are playing against the Jets. Devin Neal is done. Kendrae Miller is done. Alvin Camara is currently injured.

I mean, we don't know for sure that those two guys will be out. But Evan Hull and Adrick Estime are there. And I think someone is going to have good fantasy value against the Jets. The Jets are terrible. terrible. It's the 31st, you know, best defense against running backs. Did you even give the potential names? Yeah, yeah. Evan Hull and Audrick Estime. Well, that's one of those ones where we haven't got to. We haven't got to see what the, the depth chart and path is in a game where there wasn't an injury, which is always a little bit scary. I would put my money on Estimate. Here's what doesn't make sense of this. Evan Hull.

his claim to fame, his production profile. Great pass catching running back. At least huge production of that coming into the league. Adric Estimate, known plotter out of what, Notre Dame? He just big, thick boy. It didn't work out in Denver. So Devonil goes down to the hamstring injury. So of course, Audrake Estimate gets three targets to Evan Holt's none.

Yeah, that one's tough. I agree. I think it feels like Arizona. on a light, but with a better matchup. Odrick Estime, that's where I would go. That's where I would put in. You were always an estimate. I was. I thought I thought he had something. Well, he's a big body back.

I mean, I would imagine if you... A triple B. If you were to get around the goal line, it's going to be estimate in my estimation. Yeah, I know where you're going. Stole it. Important. Is that like a block? It's a preemptive.

Your joke, I'm a tumboed. I was matumboing. And then just pay attention to like, you'd rather pick up Brian Robinson now if you got a midweek CMC surprise. You'd rather pick up Jawor Jordan for Houston if you find out that Woody Marks is going to be out. He will be

if, if Woody Marks is not actually day to day. I mean, we had, oh, he could have gone back in the game. Oh, he's day to day. Who knows? It's Las Vegas. Exactly. Joeor Johnson had 15 for one-on-one against the Cardinals. Oh, sorry, George, Jordan. I said

Johnson. If we found out that Woody Marks, he's going to miss this week, Jordan would be my preferred play of anyone we have talked about so far. The Texans are 14 and a half point home favorites against Las Vegas. And part of the argument, at least that we heard from the coaching staff of Houston was just the backups are playing so well. We don't even need to force Woody Marks back in there. I don't know the full truth about the injury, but that is an an environment at home huge favorite 15 for 101 this past week for Jordan even though we all have no idea who he really is

I would it that's nasty and scary but it makes sense it's the playoffs yeah you figure it out yeah do you guys have any interest in Bill Kroski if uh I mean against Philly is

I mean he's he would be the top of the list for me If Chris Ardukis is out, he's still at the top. Of all those other guys. We just talked about multiple committees, conditional situations. He is definitely number one for me. Yeah, and the Philly defense, they are, obviously they've got this great defensive line, although Carter is out right now. The Raiders' offense was shut down by at least half, half in part by the Raiders themselves. all right tell me what you think here at wide receiver because i i said that i like jaden reed we got six targets five four uh did that underwhelm overwhelm it was good to see it felt like jane reed yeah it did it did feel a lot like just jaden reed but with christian watson um and his chest injury there is more opportunity there now we we saw really Matthew Golden be the one that stepped up more into that role. Please. I know.

I can't. I cannot. Rookie cards I got. I cannot in good conscience tell people to go out there and sign and play Matthew Golden when he's been such a disappearing act as a rookie. But you could see the... So fast he is. You could see the path, you know, more of a DFS dart throw than someone I want to really plug into my playoff lineup.

I would rather have Jayden Reed. He's a veteran that we know is a good wide receiver. It's a great matchup, too. All the, I think Reed does make sense. Golden is so difficult of, I mean, waivers are running right now. I don't know if those guys will be hot commodities or not, but you're, I would want to get more information over this week, number one on the Watson injury. And then two of do we hear anything about who's, who will the two wide receivers be? Like, is it going to be Dobbs and Wicks or is it going to?

I think that would be the most likely. I do think that that's most likely as well. Golden can play a role in those big plays. he had the most yard since week seven this past week, stepping in with the injury. And Wix did nothing. He was one for six, but he just, he shows up from time to time, which makes me just not really want to play Wix, but it makes me more nervous about, should Golden be the guy? I still like Kisham Booty.

Yeah, I agree. Really? I agree. I still like Kisham Booty. Yeah, he comes up with big plays. He scores often. I still like him. Yeah, I mean, I certainly can see a path for success.

but with the way that the Patriots are playing, and they're willing to, you know, spread the ball around. It could be a Hunter Henry game. It could be a Travian Henderson game. You know, I think he had one target last week. I would say one of the most interesting names out there that is scary for sure. But Adnoy Mitchell has been, since his trade to the Jets, he's been involved. I mean, the last three weeks, nine targets, six targets, 12 targets.

Once he was the wide receiver six and... This past week, the wide receiver 17. Hadnan missile? Yeah. Elijah had that. You can't change that? He is fast. If you don't play for like 600 games, you're allowed to retire your name.

But, you know, it's, you know, it's a game. Six for 58 and one? It's a game in a dome. He's looked good. He's got a good target share. So if you're looking, like, I don't think this is a strong wide receiver waiver week. Well, the Luther Burden injury complicates it because it's a big bummer. It's a Saturday game.

and he was six for 84 and you look at that and say, well, Romadunze is probably done. I think that's the implications, not putting him down or cutting his foot off. Okay, I thought that's but I think he's probably going to rest. That's the... Forever, the deep, the long rest.

Yeah, no, I... We'll miss you, Rome. Luther Burden would be really interesting if we know he's active. And if he's not, if he's not, then Loveland... Oh, Mr. Loveland. DJ Moore is going to have a day.

I think the injury situation around him makes DJ Moore a really good play. He's not going to be on waivers. Yeah. But. Yeah, Mitchell, burden, Reed. There's another one. Troy Franklin. Yeah.

I was going to ask Franklin or Adonye. I mean, Franklin is one of those guys. Assuming Pat Brian is still hurt. See, that's the issue. It's like, I would want Franklin very much. The Jacksonville Jaguars are putting up points. This could be a really great, interesting game between the Broncos and the Jacksonville Jaguars.

If Pat Bryant is gone, I'm very much, I'm happy to start Troy Franklin. Still only played 50% of snaps. Yeah, six targets, 85 yards, a touchdown looked good. And he's really, he's the type of player that can, I mean, you look back at the last seven, eight weeks, wide receiver 23, wide receiver 1, wide receiver 20, why receiver 25, this past week wire receiver 10. He gets it done. So, I mean, obviously I love Troy Franklin, but if Pat Bryant is active and healthy, then I'd rather go adenai. It's so weird. Little Jordan Humphrey. Pronounced with an Humphrey. than Troy Franklin. Now the production went to Franklin. It's just. Yeah, the previous two weeks for Franklin, he was on the field 53% finished with two catches. Franklin is too, they have learned he is too wiry to block. They're like, are we going to throw the ball? All right, put Franklin out there. Oh, are we going to run the ball? You don't need to play 100% of snaps when you can't block. He just feels volatile.

But all these guys, I mean, all these guys feel that way. Mitchell probably feels the least volatile of the group. In terms of volume, yeah. Reed and Mitchell feel the safest. Booty and Franklin feel touchdown dependent. Jaden Higgins did nothing this past week. He feels nerve-wracking to me. Jalen Naylor keeps getting it done with McCarthy,

but I can't imagine having the courage to do that. and that kind of is the end of the list of relevance to me. Yeah. We'll take a break. We'll talk the rest of the positions. I'm going to bring up one more wide receiver. We won't let Jeremy say his name, but it's Jalen Coker of the Carolina Panthers.

Over the past month, sorry, past four games, three of them he's been a top 24 wide receiver they're playing Tampa Bay I'd like I like I like I think he's a good player man I like yeah I think Coker is good as well but I'm saying I like Bryce Young and the the Panthers offense this week against Tampa Bay so he is I think he's an option a deep option for could be a low end wide receiver too feels a lot like Jalen Naylor to me where it's like it's good and he's been getting it done I don't know if I can trust it

I mean, nine points, five, 15, and 12. That's his last four games. Yeah. I mean, he got a touchdown in the last two games. And that's great. He's also only, you know, usually getting about four targets. So it's very, very hard to trust. Um, tight ends.

Yes. Go, go, go, get you. I don't know how he's on the wafer wire. I like Darren Waller a ton. I also like Colby Parkinson and a ton. Colby Parkinson to me with the absence of Devante Adams, with his insane touchdown situation. Like Colby Parkinson just scores.

Yeah, the last five games, I believe he's got five touchdowns. Now, Tyler Higby is eligible to return this week, which I think would obviously splash some significant cold water there, but we have not heard whether they plan to activate him or whether he's going to start. And I think Sean McVeigh is dealing with some family problem. Not a family problem.

They might not need, they might play nine on defense.

The Raiders, Carl just posted this, the Raiders are averaging the fewest points per game on the road of any NFL team since 2012. The chiefs are a significantly better defense, but now that they don't have anything to play for, do you think it's a good play? I don't. I think it's medium. covid helped gave him an extra year well like there's rules about eligibility and stuff yeah but he got he had an injury one or two injury red shirts and then he got uh a covid yellow shirted blue shirt every shirt you could wear look tyler shuck here here's what's great about him he can run the football he's extremely tough he's extremely smart and he has elite arm talent He can make throws that other quarterbacks can't make. Now, does he do it perfectly, consistently, instantly with this team? He hasn't, but he's three and three as a starter. Should be four and two.
