Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright.
Tuesday, October 7th, Mike Wright, Jason Moore, Andy Holloway.
Did I miss anything?
When do I get a day off?
Dude, I am so happy for you.
I feel like I need a day off of this stupid, ridiculous sport.
Yeah.
So you missed the Cardinals game?
You are so lucky.
I was at, if you didn't see my tweet,
I was at a weekend punk festival, punk music festival.
We got punked as well.
Yeah.
I mean, Sunday, I was able to take in like, you know, on Red Zone most of the morning games.
And then we get to the afternoon.
And my phone is just exploding.
I mean, it's, it's you guys.
It's my school buddies.
It's my father.
And I'm like, what is going on?
And we're, the service is real spotty out where the, so I'm checking in, trying to figure out what's going on.
like, oh, oh, see this, see this.
But then I got to really see it.
Yeah.
It would have been, it would have been awesome if, like, you, you had seen like 21 to
three in the fourth quarter and then you, like, just refresh your phone.
It says 22, 21.
It was not having to live through it, having a great time while it's going on.
The juxtaposition was, guys, I felt great.
Welcome back.
What a weekend.
Yeah, yeah, it was good.
Happy Tuesday, everybody.
Happy Tuesday.
We've got a pretty exciting Monday night football game to recap.
We got a waiver-wire show today going to get you up to date on who you need to pick up
if there's some big names that interest these gentlemen in front of me.
I will say this.
I looked at it this morning.
We are five weeks in.
There are nine weeks of regular season fantasy football left.
That's nearly two-thirds of the season.
So before you get to playoffs, like most leagues playoffs start in week 15.
And we're only five weeks in.
Yeah, we're one third of the regular season along, and people start quitting.
People in leagues, they, you know, they're two and three, let alone, you know, the O and Fives.
And they're like, oh, well, my season is over.
It's done.
And it's just not true.
We have done this so long.
And we get so many messages if I was O and four, oh, and three, oh, and five, one and four.
And then they make the playoffs and win a championship.
Yeah, I mean, you've seen it.
just the injuries that have taken place in the first five weeks of the season.
Powerhouse teams suddenly aren't powerhouse teams.
Mike went into our dynasty league with darn well a super team.
Oh, yeah.
Unbeatable burrow and chase stack.
C.D. Lamb has got no, oh, good-bye.
Derek Henry.
Yeah, Derek Henry.
I mean, what is he rest of the season?
If you had to set a line on him rest of season finishing inside the top, what?
What's the line?
Tomorrow's show, we are doing a fantasy draft redo of the first two rounds.
So we will find out if Derek Henry's in the first two rounds or not.
Yeah.
I'm guessing probably not.
Yeah, he probably, yeah, we'll see.
I'll bet he squeaks in there.
Does he?
Yeah, I mean, we'll find out.
Yeah.
It'll be exciting.
But it is, it's just a good time.
There's so much weight put into the first part of the season in terms of the emotional impact.
Not that you'd ever witness that from this show where we're very level headed and we kind of just,
we're above it.
We're above it all.
As I want to knock down the chase statue.
shoot in front of me. But yeah, we're not, we're not that far into the season. There's a lot of
football left to be played. And really, the ability to make the best decisions is more
enabled by the data we have now than we had ever, you know, earlier in the season. We have a
streamfinder tool. We have consistency charts. We have ideas about defenses and kickers and
offenses. And, you know, there's just so much more information we have now on how teams are
using players. Good and
bad, right? Emeka, Buka, pretty
good. Traveon Henderson? Lots of questions. Yeah, maybe
better now. Maybe. But
also maybe just a
better laid trap. Could be.
You know, that's where we're at. It does feel like
every week something happens or it's like
it should be. I see how this is the week.
Yeah. I mean, if I told you that Antonio Gibson would
tear his ACL and Ramandre would fumble three times
including a goal line fumble, you'd be
like Trayvion scoring 37 points a week.
now the most recent comments are that they'd like to involve him in the return game.
Did you see that?
No, Romandre?
No, no, no, no.
No, no, no, no.
Oh, yeah, Hindo was, yeah.
Well, the comments after the entry was like, what do you think about getting Trayvon
Henderson more involved?
And he said, yeah, I'd love to get him return, getting in the kick return game.
I mean, it was, it was more.
Cool, just the second round kick returner.
Well, it was the fact that he said they had three kick returns that were like one,
block away from being a huge one. And he wants one of those to break. He wants to get that going in the
return game more. But obviously that is a big part of the team to them. And it's so important.
It does not matter what we think, what we feel. It really matters what the coaches believe.
You know, we might think Ramondre Stevenson is not that guy and has an issue that will upset Mike
Vrabel with fumbling. And clearly, he has an issue with fumbling. And clearly it's not upsetting Mike
Rable. Mike Rable gets to decide.
I will say this to Mike Rable's credit.
I think it is astonishingly stupid
when head coaches punish
players in a disciplinary fashion
to the detriment of your team.
This happened, like Jordan Addison
missing the first quarter. Yes, they pulled the game
out barely with 25 seconds left
to go. How?
With Jordan Addison,
but you take him off the field for a quarter.
That doesn't help your
that doesn't help your ball club.
I thought this was actually quite ridiculous with Indianapolis.
It's an inexcusable mistake you can say with Adonai Mitchell.
Also, the play Adonai Mitchell made was unbelievable.
It was such an outrageously good play.
If you think this player can help you win, discipline them some other way.
Make them carry your luggage.
I don't care.
Find them.
Dude, that would be great.
If they can help you win, it's just going to rest labor.
Like your punishment, we're not fining you, we're not sitting you, we're not benching you.
But you take out the garbage now.
Yeah, you're my butler for a week.
Yeah, you literally around the team facility, you're doing the socks.
You do the laundry now.
Because where do you draw the line?
Like Jordan Addison, him not being out on the field in the first quarter,
almost cost them a ball game in my opinion.
So it's like.
It didn't help.
It certainly didn't help.
And then he won the game for him.
It's just kind of ridiculous to me when you're punishing all the other players.
That's my opinion.
You're punishing everybody else on the team.
And I understand accountability.
Do you help the team or hurt the team?
hurt the team.
It's that I want him.
I just feel like Chick-fil-A's a better place when he works there.
Right.
Do you know what I mean?
He's a good dude.
He's a good personality-wide for Chick-fil-A.
No, I mean, even DeMarcato.
If you thought that he was a difference maker on your team,
figure out a different way.
I don't know.
Players feel like they could be accountable.
And Ramandri Stevenson, back to the point,
really, really helps the ball club.
He just does.
He's a much bigger back.
He's a better goal-line back.
He helps, I mean, he helps everybody.
Helps the other team sometimes.
Do you say every button?
Did I say everybody?
Everybody.
I'm thinking about you.
All right.
Rant over 31 Jacksonville, 28, Kansas City.
And one, proud of Jacksonville.
Two, would have been really upset if they had lost this game after that
egregious pass interference call that was a free touchdown for Kansas City.
That was the worst call I've seen so far this year because it was in, I mean,
it was so plainly visible and right.
leading to an intercession. You don't agree?
No, no, no. I'm just laughing.
And now which one are you talking about, are you talking about the one that Trevor Lawrence
threw or the one where there was the pick play on the Kansas City touchdown?
No, I'm talking about when Trevor Lawrence was at his own 20.
Yes. Okay. And then the route he's running and the guy literally truck sticks,
the receiver. Yeah. And it goes directly to Kansas City. It was just the most, to me,
that was like, oh, great, Kansas City is doing it again. But now they have lost,
you know their own three in one score games now.
After 11 and O last year.
Them and the Cardinals, you know, both two and three.
One score games, man, it gets you
because it overinflates your confidence
of how great your team is.
Now, I don't know if you were aware, Mike,
because you missed, you lucky dog.
The Cardinals are the only team in the history
of the National Football League to lose
on three consecutive game-winning field goals.
Good. Nobody's ever seen it.
Excellent, excellent.
The plan is working, guys.
The plan is the plan?
What is the plan? Misery?
I feel like it's a 100-year plan.
I feel like it's a 100-year plan.
Kyler, too?
Everyone.
Marv?
Everyone.
We didn't get any mic on yesterday's show.
Here's an interesting thing from this game.
One, like I said, shout out to Jacksonville, the 4-1.
Did you hear the clip of Jonathan Gannon saying that no one liked a particular play call?
Yes.
And they were like, yeah, we just didn't call time out.
Also, I would have just let.
the play happen into the sun man i mean jonathan ganon was like he's crazy he's like i don't i didn't like
the play call and then they're like well would you ever override him he goes no i don't overwrite him he's
my play caller it's like it's like we don't know who's doing this yeah and they they also said
hey hey so you're jason you were criticizing keiler yesterday about not checking out you said other
quarterbacks would have checked out they came out and said verbatim he had no ability to check
out of that play yeah well that's smart no that's great there's really there's okay
We were all stuck with the play, the quarterback, the play caller, and the head coach.
So we let the defense know what we were doing.
We said, hey, guys, we're going to run up the middle.
And then we were like, but we can't do anything about it.
Nothing could be done.
You could run a whole chick-fil-A with the staff from the car.
That's what you could do.
Nothing could be done, guys.
All right.
Trevor Lawrence, threw for a touchdown, ran for two.
The last one was the most hilarious touchdown number.
A double fall down?
A double fall down.
It was like his shoes were tied together.
He got stepped on on the snap and then fell down, got up, fell down, got up, and then scored
a touchdown.
Do you guys see Chris Jones on that?
Yeah, I don't know if he was hurt or cramped or something.
You got to hope so.
Chris Jones is standing there doing nothing.
He thought the play was over from the jump.
I think he really did.
I think he thought when Trevor Lawrence fell down, the guys that were near him were going
to tackle him, so he didn't do anything.
He's just standing straight up.
And then it's like, as the play happened, like if he had stayed involved, he could
have absolutely stopped that play from happening, but
he did not. Jason
won in our matchup between
he and I exclusively by
a 44-yard
catch by Travis Hunter. That 44-yard
catch was the differential
in our victory. How do you feel
now about the Travis Hunter for
Woody Mark's trade that we
did last week?
Bad.
I believe if we didn't
make that trade. Oh, I win by so much.
money points. Not because I played Travis Hunter. He would have been on my bench,
but because I would have played Jacori Kraski Merritt, in which case, yeah, I would
have, I mean, we can't have a show anymore. All right, Patrick Mahomes, though, like, is
Mahomes, Mahomes and Matthew Stafford are the two quarterbacks that I'm interested in talking
about in terms of, like, everyone thought they had something with Justin Herbert after one
week. He's been actually quite terrible since then. I think I, yesterday I said on the show,
Mike. He's on pace for like 3,600 yards and 21 touchdowns and 17 picks, the offensive line
being the culprit there. Yeah, that's a problem. But Mahomes has been very good for fantasy.
Matthew Stafford has become very good for fantasy. Both of those guys are really on the radar
for me on a waiver show. Or trade candidates. Yeah, I don't know that Mahomes would be out on waivers.
Stafford will talk about him later on this episode. But the secret sauce with Mahomes is the rushing.
I mean, he has been, he has three games this year where he basically has 60 rushing yards.
That is an outrageous number.
And I worry that when Rushie Rice comes back, like that goes away a little bit because right now it's like he doesn't really have anyone to throw the ball to.
More a result of the running game being so bad.
Maybe.
I mean, I feel like, I mean, he's their leading rush on the season.
You know this?
Yeah, he's on pace for 650 rushing yards, something right around there.
Tyquan Thornton 3 for 90.
Travis Kelsey, 7 for 61 and a touchdown.
Savior Worthy 6 for 42.
He did play.
Brian Thomas Jr. 4 for 80, not into the end zone.
Travis 1003 for 64.
It was nice to see.
And the touchdown pass was caught by Parker, Washington.
Britton Strange got hurt in this game.
So we got Munt.
Johnny.
Johnny Munt took over.
But that was your Monday night football game.
And it was a good one.
It was a fun one.
All right.
Moving on.
News and notes from around the league.
Presented by progressive insurance.
All right.
Amarion Hampton.
This was the big news yesterday.
Not good.
Placed on IR with an ankle injury.
Out at least four weeks.
It's a waiver show.
Welcome to our weekly backup running back discussion.
Based on history, you should play all of them.
Hampton is quite the roller coaster.
of the season.
You know, came out, looked like he was going to be great.
The Naji injury with the eye.
And then it was like, okay, so Amarian's going to be the guy.
And then Najee was active and got really involved.
It's like, okay, so Amarian's going to really be split.
And then Naji got injured.
It's like, hey, I've got Amarian.
That's all.
And then Amariant got injured.
It's a wild ride.
Well, and they've lost two straight games.
They don't look great right now.
Their offensive line is gone.
So Hampton's on IR for at least four weeks.
Commander's head coach Dan Quinn said he's optimistic about Terry McLaren for week six.
Okay.
So that's good news for the commanders who really, I mean, they just buckled down in that game and shut down the Chargers.
It was 10 nothing.
And then all of a sudden it was 2710 and it was just it was over.
Christian Watson returning or designated to return from injured reserves.
He'll have 21 days to be activated.
Honestly, I feel like they really could use him.
you know whether you pick them up now or not you might you might have to because i think
people in a lot of leagues will be picking them up but i would imagine the expectation is he's
not going to play for two weeks yeah i would think they'll use more of the 21 day window it's
i mean that's i think that's more interesting for jordan love who has yeah definitely it's been
okay uh you know over the season but if you put watson on that team and he can
really stretch the field.
It becomes very intriguing down the
stretch here.
I mentioned yesterday, Zach Taylor said
they're going to evaluate Jake Browning
and whether he's going to start in week six.
Jason said he thought he'd start.
They may not have another choice.
It's just the turnovers have been outrageous.
I think that there is a line of thinking here
at this juncture
to sell high on Jamar Chase
after last week.
It's not that you can't get those games,
is that they won't be reliable.
and if Jake Browning stays the quarterback, they won't be reliable.
If they change quarterbacks, it could actually get worse.
So I think that there is an opportunity potentially to trade chase away.
Yeah, I'm perfectly fine with it.
On a double touchdown garbage time game.
Starting Jamar, every conversation this year of Jamar Chase is like,
well, who would you play over him?
And it'll be risky because it's either you'll get just nothingness or you do have the potential
for like what that happens this week because he's Jamar Chase.
Yeah, Jake Browning is, this might sound ridiculous, but Jake Browning is awesome for Jamar Chase.
I mean, obviously he's not Joe Burrow, but by comparison of if they keep losing, which they probably will, they've got a tough schedule the next couple of weeks still.
If they make that change, you guys realize who the current backup is on the depth chart?
I see it.
Oh, man.
What's Brett ripping farts that will not go well?
I don't know what they're stuck.
I mean, Jamar Chase has two weeks of this season where he was absolutely dominant,
but his three games with Jake Browning, you know, five for 50, five for 23,
and then last week, six for 110, but the first three quarters of the game were awful.
Would you trade Jamar Chase for Devante Adams?
Like I said, I would consider trading Jamar Chase.
I think I would do it.
But I don't know if I do that.
I would do it.
I think.
For Devante Adams?
I think I'm actually a no on that one, and I want to say yes.
Okay.
George Pickens?
Um, boy, I guess it's harder to trade Jamar Chase than I thought it was.
It's really hard to let go of something so beautiful.
That's what you'd have to do, probably.
And I don't know if the Pickens manager does it, but maybe you leverage the return of CD Lamb to do it.
So, yeah, what, Papa Josh, you traded Chase for Quentin Johnston?
I did.
Yeah, I'm, I would have done it too.
Yeah, I think that could still be fine for you.
It's just a tough week.
Mm-hmm.
Kyler Murray's foot will be monitored throughout the week, says Jonathan Gannon.
He actually left that game to go to the locker room for a second and came back.
And I think he'll play, but he might not.
And if he doesn't, Jacoby Brissette.
Snoop Huntley.
Where's the beef?
Yeah, I don't know what the beef is.
We don't get a lot of Jacoby Brissette talk on this show.
Jacobi Beef brisket.
There it is.
There it is.
He's to earn it with the start.
Snoop Huntley might be the starter for Baltimore.
Whoop.
Okay.
See you, Cooper.
Yeah, Cooper Rush, you know, Lamar Jackson, if he can't play, it might be Snoop Huntley.
Antonio Gibson out for the year with the torn ACL.
It's a bummer.
Tyrone Tracy Limited.
He may be back this week.
I was a little bummed at the production from Cam last week, Scataboo.
Did you see his block?
His block was amazing.
He pancaked alignment.
That dude is, there's something wrong with him.
Yes, I agree.
In the best possible.
He's a cran eater.
He's a, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he, he,
found his
sport.
Yeah.
He did find his sport.
Did you eat paint ships as a kid?
Yeah. He definitely did.
Seekoine Barkley
did not practice on Monday.
Deestimated. Yeah, because they play Thursday.
Every report I've seen is that he's just
general soreness and going to play on Thursday.
So,
I think they play the Giants on Thursday night football, but you've got to monitor
that. You could always toss somebody on your bench.
We'll talk about who it might be. And that was
News and a note, sponsored by Progressive Insurance, quote today at Progressive.com,

We'll take a break.
We'll talk waivers.
The Waiver Wire, presented by Walmart.
Well, we get the Bears, Falcons, Packers, and Steel.
back from the by this week.
Oh, my sweet, sweet bejean.
Yeah, you...
Welcome back.
You still scored the most in our league.
The Texans...
Did you really?
And the Vikings...
Dagummit.
Go on by.
Yeah, he did it while complaining the whole week, too.
Yeah, I thought he must have had a terrible week based on messages.
I did.
Based on all the complaining, I assumed he didn't score the most in the league.
The Texans, you won't have to choose Woody Marks Nick Chub this week.
They're going on by.
We lose Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, and company going on by, no Jordan Mason.
But those are the only two teams on the week six by, so it's a little bit more manageable.
We're going to dig into the running back position to kick things off.
Amazingly, the two touchdown cream hunt, still just 33% rostered in leagues, Michael Carter, 59% rostered,
and then we can talk about the Chargers backfield.
But those three situations seem to be the leaders in the clubhouse for running back.
Yeah, Michael Carter is my number one by a lot.
And, like, Demarcato kind of got the spotlight because of the play.
But it's like Carter played way more.
Way more.
Way more snaps.
Got five targets.
And so he's, he's at the top of my list.
Because I think that that you should sticks.
And what if they want to punish Demarcato?
Well, Gannon already came out and said that they will have no punishment for him.
um you know he did he did he came out and said there will be no punishment for him he came out and
apologized for how he treated him on the sideline it was unbelievable that was which he he yelled in his
face i think hit him a couple times and then he came out and apologized said that's not how he wants
to act he wants to be more level headed like demarcato was destroyed there and you just went and got
in his face like i don't know i don't know what help i don't think football fans are happy in
any situation yeah there's there is no right answer here because honestly part of me wants you to
take DeMarcato, yell at him on the
sideline, and say, please go to the
locker room, pack your bag, so you are not, no longer
in Arizona Cardinal. And then part of you
wants to be like, hey, you got to build your players
up, you got to do the right thing and not
hurt your team. Right.
Out of anger. And he has decided
to do neither and both.
He's like, I'm so angry.
I hate you. I'm just kidding, baby.
You're fine. You're not going to be punished at all.
He's probably the starter now. Michael
Carter probably doesn't touch the ball. Overcompens
say. That's my guess because Gannon doesn't know what he's doing.
He's just like, don't sue me? Yeah. So much of it depends.
Yeah, dude, dude, dude, it was not a soul. Look, you got the start.
You're wearing pads. So much of it has to do how the player reacts to it too. And we don't know that. That's all behind closed door. You know what I mean?
What is Amari DiMarcato's attitude about what happened? And I know my attitude.
He's moving on. Personally, I, so you've got Trey Benson who is on.
the IR. His seems like it will be
longer than four weeks, but
you know, eligible to return in four weeks. So maybe that pushes
Carter ahead. But the
Omari and Hampton, obviously, Trey Benson
has already been one week into the IR.
The situation with the Chargers, I feel like the Chargers are still a
better offense, a better team, even though they've been struggling
and they have the O-line issues. They are a better team,
a better offense, and have a better quarterback. And so
that situation is very similar to the Cardinals with
Hassan Haskins and Kamani Vidalso-Ssoon.
But I think I want Haskins more than Carter.
Really?
You're that you're that confident that Haskins is the guy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I am not.
So when you watch the game, when you watch the game live with the Chargers,
what you saw was towards the end of the game,
Hampton got injured, wasn't able to make it back,
and then it was Vidal Sassoon getting the work.
But when you actually look at how the game flow went,
Hassan Haskins was involved early
Hassan Haskins was the backup
and then later in the game
I mean they literally
it was Trey Lance out there
Yeah yeah they had pulled everyone
That was when Vidal Sassoon was playing
So I think it's definitely Haskins as the starter
Sure my counter to that would be
Literally Michael Carter
Who was not active
For the Arizona Cardinals
Demarcato was the backup
And then he remained the backup
That's where I'm saying of Michael Carter
is by far my number one, because I know he's the guy, where the Chargers situation is at
Haskins, do they, or like, do they go the Tampa Bay route where we thought Sean Tucker might
get more play, but they went all to Rashad White. I don't think either of those players is good
enough for it to be just them. Well, yeah, yeah, it'll be the point. That's the biggest issue I have.
Like, I'm Carter by so much more. Well, Carter's not over either of those guys. I mean, DeMarcato
will be involved just like he was. We've already seen it. Yeah. I mean, Michael Carter
was got all but
seven touches in the entire game. Yeah, I think 15
carries with targets is
the recipe for Carter. It was 18.
Oh, you're saying going forward? I'm saying like a baseline.
I think Vidal's the
better player than Haskins.
And we have seen, I mean, we've seen
that's the problem is it's like
they're not just going to play Haskins out of some
loyalty or
depth chart. They're just going to play the player
that plays the best. And I have a hard time
investing enough fab and
situation personally. But Jason has conviction around Haskins and I don't think it's wrong
Jay to be like what we saw on Sunday leans to Haskins and that's how I would lean my
priority and my fab but I don't feel real confident that it won't end up being Vidal.
Yeah, I will say that neither one of those players are very good and the offensive line
now with the injuries does not look good. It's just a matter of still scoring opportunities.
I will say this. The Cardinals around the red zone over the last couple of years, they have been, they rush the touchdowns in. And we've seen it, whether it was DiMarcardo, whether it was Michael Carter, Benson Connor of old.
Bam Knight last week. Bam night got one. And so, you know, how many touchdowns each team scores? I feel like the Chargers will score more. But maybe it just, maybe this is put the ball in, you know, the hands of Justin Herbert more. And the running game doesn't, doesn't work. Maybe you swayed me to the Michael Carter side.
My order would be Carter Hunt, and then I probably would take the lower fath.
I would go low fab on both of the Charger guys personally and just try to see whoever ends up on my team as a dart throw.
Outside of that, pay attention to the snap counts going up for Kendrae Miller.
They've gone up five consecutive weeks.
Yeah.
If they were to trade, I know you guys don't think it's likely.
Well, I just, not to Arizona, but I think it's a chance that Camer does to move.
Yeah, I mean, to me, it's like you also defer to the veteran that wants to, like, if your seasons lost and the veteran wants to go,
and he's paid his dues.
There's a chance he asks to go do that.
You know, it didn't work out for Sean Tucker this week.
I don't think it's going to work out for Sean Tucker at this point
with such a limited role.
They just didn't give them very much work at all.
It was disappointing.
Pay attention to Breschard Smith still,
if the chiefs want to keep getting him involved.
But again, not a lot of work.
Bayshall Tooting, not much going on there.
Chris Rodriguez didn't get almost any work in this game.
which Mike, we talked about it yesterday
with J-C-M on the studs, but
like he had not practiced,
J-C-M had not practiced the week that Rodriguez
had played, and then now it was
the J-C-M breakout game.
We expect that
Seguan is fine, but
it's worth noting like at least a little
tiny discussion in case all of a sudden
something gets worse as the week goes on.
How do you order that back-book?
Because right in the beginning of the season, it was like,
oh, Will Shipley looks like that guy, he looked great,
then he broke his ribs. They traded for tank
Bigsby and then A.J. Dellon's been fine. I don't know that he ever actually broke his ribs.
Like that might have just been an unconfirmed report. He came back way too soon. And they call
it an oblique. There's now three running backs there. How would you just order them? And I personally,
if I'm going after these guys, it's like zero dollar bids. Yeah, yeah. I'm, yes. And I don't,
because I don't think this is a high priority. The problem is, I think Tank Bigsby's had zero
opportunities with this team. But he very much looks like the Michael Carter of the situation to me.
Could be. Where if you traded significant.
Capital Forum. If an actual injury knocked Sequin out, not mid-game, but for weeks, I think Bigsby
gets the most work. He certainly could. For this week, if I'm just trying to prepare for that
emergency situation, I would put Dylan at the top, but I don't feel super confident. This is great
because I think I've got Shipley at the top, so we all pick one. Yeah, this is a, this is more
of a, well, I mean, like Michael Carter, if he still happens to be out there, is a great ad. But
Otherwise, it's a lot of stashing of players.
The drop candidates at running back that people are asking about, Woody Marks goes on by?
No, no.
Does he have Pacheco with a couple of better weeks?
He, him and Kareem Hunt, it's so tough because Pacheco is the one who's playing a lot.
Kareem Hunt got the two touchdowns and had the-
Probably always will get the big touchdowns.
He probably will.
R.J. Harvey.
No, no, no, no.
Do not drop R.J. Harvey.
If R.J. Harvey was on waivers, I would pick him up for sure.
I would, too.
But you wouldn't play him.
No, I would not play him.
J.K. Dobbins looks excellent.
He is the starter.
RJ Harvey might be irrelevant the entire rest of the season.
But this is a rookie with high draft capital.
Who has looked fine in his opportunities.
Amazingly, I can't even count over the course of the season how many have been called back.
Like, if you look at his box score, it's like he didn't do anything.
It's like, well, he did a lot of things.
They said in college, his college reports, he needs a few holds to make a big part.
Yeah.
Well, he's good when they hold.
They just got to get the flags not going right.
right, but I wouldn't drop a rookie.
Trayvion? No. I wouldn't.
No, same.
Especially with Antonio Gibson. I know that Remandre remains the guy, but they like to use multiple backs there.
This was like last week, there was a lot of Bill Kroski drops, and he was on our, you know, our Wednesday episode was my, pick him up if he got dropped.
Rookies that have shown a little bit, they might get opportunity as the season goes along.
You don't want those guys on waivers. You want them on your roster.
I, um, Kyle shared something of trying to find it. Yeah, do you have? Yeah, yeah. So Kyle looked it up.
Oh, it's in our showdown. Of the 52 running backs drafted in rounds two or three over the last decade,
46% of them failed to have a 12 point week within their first five games, and 67% of them had just one or fewer.
So they don't all progress this fast. Yes. So, you know, Henry, Mixen, Javante, Miles, James Cook,
Those were all names in that category, day two, three, or round two, three running backs that had not broken out at this point.
And I mean, it's like there are scenarios, Jason's right, there is a scenario where Harvey ends up not working out at all.
And that will be a big time bummer because he looks like he has juice.
But it's like Nick Chubb was drafted in the second round, did nothing for eight or nine weeks, and then they traded Carlos Hyde.
and then Nick Chubb was a league-winning running back.
It's just the opportunity.
He's never been hurt before, right?
No, he is, he's got two strong legs, man.
Yeah, both of those guys are just keep them on your roster, keep them tucked away in a safe space.
Kyle pointing out, at this point, Bucky had,
Bucky Irving of last year, league winning Bucky Irving at this point had one 12-point game
through his first five weeks.
Again, not to say that they will become those things, but we don't have enough
time to throw them away. Well, and if anyone's going to all of a sudden catch a hot streak
to finish the season, it's these guys. Exactly. It's not a veteran who's been playing for four or
five years. Yeah, Hassan Haskins has had his opportunities to kind of show he could do something
special. And he has shown he can't. Now, he will have opportunity and opportunity can override that
and be worthy of fantasy, you know, goodness, but not greatness. Greatness will come from these guys
who have not yet earned their NFL opportunity,
and when they do, they show that they've got something special.
Wide receivers.
We want to let you know.
Jalen Coker also eligible to return in week five.
I don't know how much we care, but at least a little bit.
A little bit.
Yeah, Christian Watson eligible to return in week six.
Jaden Reed, week eight, Saturday Tillman, week 10.
Mike, I don't know if you saw, but Isaiah Bond had eight useless targets.
I did, yeah, those Cleveland targets.
I did see a good amount of the Gabriel.
throws if we want to call are those targets you're talking because they're short area
well i and just flying over people's heads i mean he had two touchdowns yeah he was okay
he didn't turn the ball over and they almost won yes hey listen there's a math equation
every three cleveland targets is one real target okay that's fine that's good you know so it
so targets matter if you get 30 of them if you get 30 if you get 30 uh all right wide receiver
pickups uh let's talk about some names that are out there there are a
few names that we've talked about repeatedly, week over week, names that have been floating
around like Trey Tucker and Troy Franklin that are just sitting there and they're just kind of,
you know, you know, okay, you can add them, you can spot start them, but they haven't been
consistent. But the bigger names, you have the huge week from Kendrick Bourne in San Francisco.
I do want people to make sure that Joanne Jennings is not on waiver wires or have been cut
because he will return to this team and will be more necessary than Kendrick Bourne.
but he was targeted on almost 30% of his routes last week.
Speaking of Kendrick Bourne, 142 yards, you can't ignore that.
Romeo Dobbs is coming off of a buy week after his three touchdown game.
Again, spot start category to me.
A great Cincinnati airs on the next two weeks.
A lot of bi-week guys get dropped.
But let's talk about Ryan Flanoy.
Wide receiver for Dallas.
A 114-yard game.
Dak is playing as good as any quarterback in football,
not named Baker Mayfield.
You're freaking MVP, by the way.
I'd say he would, if the season was over today, he would be the MVP.
So, Jason, you made the, you made the, you made the comment about, like, why do you do this to yourself?
Why are you a fan of the Cardinals?
I will and can not ever abandon my team.
I fundamentally don't believe in that.
I think you got to.
I'm with you, Jay.
You got to go, you got to go down with the ship for the chance that you get pulled out.
No, no, no.
Because I want the glory.
Even if I'm 70 years old and I'll be like, I was a fan for 15.
if they're good again, I'm not just jumping
right back in? Of course I am. But I'll know
that you were the Cowell. Oh, no.
You'll feel real bad, Mike.
You'll feel so bad. You guys have no
pride. No, it is pride. It is
the pride in myself.
If I was... My money.
You guys are on the wrong end of this. My time.
Your time is the most valuable thing in the
entire world and they are wasting it. You don't have to watch it.
You just can't switch teams. That's all I'm saying.
Would you bet rather be Jack or
Rose? Is this a Titanic?
This is a Titanic thing?
Because one of them went down with the ship.
And the other one survived.
And she told the stories of how, oh, man, I was on that terrible thing.
But she was an old lady living.
I don't want to be on the Titanic at all.
That's where we were born.
We were born in Arizona or close enough.
That's where we live.
We're on the Titanic.
All of this was to say, if I could pick another team, it would be freaking Tampa Bay and Baker Mayfield.
For sure.
Between him and Abuca.
They are everyone's favorite second place team right now.
I mean, is Ryan Flanoy, name.
Ryan Flanoy is not very many of us are familiar with.
No, six-round pick in 2024, but it was kind of a breakout game for him.
It was.
We've had enough Jalen Tolbert to know that he's not it.
Exactly.
Right?
And then Turpin, Turpin got hurt.
And he got hurt, but it doesn't even matter.
Turpin is very much a, he's a gadgetry, special teams, get the ball in his hands, maybe something happens.
I think it matters in terms of snaps.
Well, maybe not anymore.
Maybe.
Yeah, yeah.
But who was the...
I was going to say, we had a Dallas Cowboy years ago be the week one sensation.
Oh, I was thinking of Leviscus, Schenol, in the same type of situation as...
Ogletree.
Ogletree.
For this team for the Cowboys, I think it was three touchdowns in week one, did nothing else.
Like, is this a...
Is this something to be chasing?
go after? Is this a product of
that? I don't think it's going
to be long. Pickens is seeing sauce, and so
the jets are just not good other than that? It's just
a player you could tuck away for no
almost no fab. Yeah, I mean, this to me
is, I would rather have this be more of a
spot start because C.D. Lamb
is gone. Turpin is injured
and Jalen Tolbert doesn't have it. So you've got
Pickens and they need someone else.
And so I think that's where
you know, he shined.
And you might get another week out of that.
You know, they're playing Carolina. It's a fine
matchup. I don't expect C.D. Lamb
this week, but as soon as C.D. Lamb
is back. Like, he's not a stash to me
because when Lamb is back, Lamb and
Pickens are going to take the targets.
You did see 3 for 90 for
Tyquan Thornton. He keeps kind of getting it done for
Kansas City, another spot start. There's not a
big, like, add and play every
week name, including
Borgh, including Dobbs. I mean,
Dobbs has never been that. So,
there isn't a name jumping out to me unless you
see one. Dobbs might be, I mean, he is
probably my number one pick, but
honestly, Alec Pierce is maybe a name that should be talked about because he has the potential
to have, like, this is the type of player.
I am completely with you, Jason.
It's not, you know, oh, you've got to have them.
But if you've got bywicks, if you've got injuries, and you're like, I have to start
someone off of waivers.
I have to actually put them not just on my roster, and that's who I get after fab, but I've
got to find someone on waivers that I'm going to put in my lineup.
Like I've got Travis Hunter.
I had to play Travis Hunter this week.
I would much rather play Alec Pierce over Travis Hunter.
Alex Pierce coming off of an injury, though.
It was a concussion.
Okay.
So he's not dealing with, you know.
You heard of here first.
Not considered an injury to these two gentlemen.
No, no, no.
It is a very serious injury.
It's not a, you'll be slow for two weeks.
You will be full speed.
Yeah, yeah.
Honestly, I'm just not wildly excited about the wide receivers.
Isaiah Bond is getting the snaps and the targets and he will for a long time.
Senator Tillman's not coming off the buy, or sorry, off the injury list
for at least, I mean, week 10 is the earliest.
So Isaiah Bond will have a lot of opportunity and Jerry Judy's bad at football.
So just pay attention there.
He gets 30 targets.
I would say the guy who probably, like I would start over Alex Pierce,
who I just made a case for who's still available in the vast majority of leagues.
You talked about it.
But Tyquan Thornton is, he is involved.
They're playing the Lions.
This week, like that's going to be, you know, a lot of points.
They've got a 51 point over under right now.
And so will Patrick Mahomes have a bomb in this game?
Probably won.
And it'll probably be Thornton.
All right.
Drop candidates.
Matthew Golden?
Don't do that.
I wouldn't do it, but.
Jerry Judy?
Sure.
I would hold on to him one more week.
You missed ELEC.
I'm manure.
No, I heard it.
Oh, did you?
I heard it.
That's good stuff.
You can drop them because Titans.
Yeah.
Jameson Williams?
I still would not.
Keon Coleman
I mean
I'm
Hmm
Hmm
Yeah that's the only
I
I mean
I mean if he was out
on the waiver wire
compared to that list
I'd pick up
Keon Coleman
Exactly
Given the list
of wide receivers
Would I drop
What if I told you
To pick up a Michael Carter
Oh yeah
Sure
But I'm not dropping
Keon Coleman
For all these
Wild receivers we're talking about
Three of five
Matchups
Of the year
26 or
fewer receiving yards.
He is, that team is a roulette.
If you needed him to catch a bunch of passes like in week one, he'll do it.
They needed him to catch passes last week.
Well, I mean, he did it.
You caught touchdown.
Yeah.
So, I mean, look, I don't feel like it's a touchdown still ended up with eight points.
You betcha.
Good Lord.
Seven targets and a touchdown.
Oh, yeah, seven targets.
Seven targets and a touchdown.
Eight fantasy points.
Was there other than Kincaid?
I don't know if you were happy with
a Buffalo Bill last week. All right, we'll take a break.
We'll talk tight ends, defenses, quarterbacks.
All right.
George Kittle is eligible to return in week six.
We don't yet know what's going on.
Last we heard was it's not sounding good.
It was sounding great from the reporters
and then Shanahan cold watered us.
Last week, we told you, pick up Mason Taylor.
Taylor this week, 12 targets.
Me, yow.
Nine catches, 67 yards.
He was targeted so much.
Yeah.
So it's a very good sign with Justin Fields.
Two weeks back with Justin Fields, two weeks of Mason Taylor emerging.
They don't have other pass catchers.
Just take your disgusting cowardly kitty cat points.
Yeah, there you go.
He's the cowardly lion.
Is that it?
Maybe.
If I was to have, like, if you had your tight end group, you probably want Mason Taylor.
Yes. The breakaway, you know, not everyone can be a George Kittle, you know, a Travis Kelsey and his prime. A dog.
Yeah, not everyone can do it. But at that position, a Zach Ertz can get it done, you know what I mean?
You guys are so rude to Mason Taylor. This is a young, athletic, talented.
Son of a Hall of Famer. He's very talented. I'm trying to speak his praises here.
No, you said you just compared him to Zach Ertz. Does not speak.
Zachertz is 400 years old.
Mason Taylor's in his early 20.
But Zach Ertz was always.
Zach Ertz was not.
No, he wasn't always.
He is a brilliant kitty cat.
Like he's, he knows where to go.
He is a pros, pro Zachertz has always been.
You're putting Mason Taylor in too small a box.
That's all I'm saying.
You're putting Zachertz a two small box.
Zachertz was great.
No, Zachertz was outstanding.
But he was he was much more athletic and more capable of yards after the
catch when he was younger.
Box size TBD for Mason Taylor.
Yeah, TBD. That's fine. You don't need to put it. I'm just saying he's
performing. He's doing the most he can do with what he gets from.
Oh, he's doing the most he could possibly do. His routes that he's
catching are sit-down routes.
My point is Zacherts.
Stop talking about Zachertz. No, no.
He was great. He was great. This is a guy who was like 10 and a half a catch, 10.5
9.4. During those numbers I just
said, tight end, 9, 6, 3,
2, 5. Like,
that's how he profiles
to be smart. He knows where to go.
He can get the targets. He's going to catch it.
He doesn't have to break tackles
or have a dog in him. That's what I'm saying.
Do you want to play Mason Taylor this week
or
Jake Tongis Mc Basketball
who gets to take on Tampa Bay
11 targets 7 for 41
with the score this past week?
I probably played Tongis because he's got a better chance
of scoring. And why is that?
Because he's got
a quarterback. A real quarterback.
How, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Justin Fields sucks. Justin Fields is
electric in the fourth quarter.
Oh my gosh.
Just, oh, that garbage. I want, it's so tasty.
I want George Kittlebacks.
Yes.
So bad. Jake, Jake Taunt.
Oh, the Jets game is in London.
Taunt just McBasketball is the titan.
What are the rules about transporting
felines to overseas?
You probably need certificates
and everything.
You got to have proof of rabies shot.
I think if you just give him Benadryl.
He should be able to make the flight.
You normally need to have him quarantine for a while.
You guys are psychos.
He'll be down with the luggage.
He'll be fine.
Did you know it's climate control?
Did you know AJ Barner is three top 10 weeks in five weeks?
I did not realize that.
Did you know he had seven?
I know you had the two touchdowns.
Seven catches last week on seven targets?
That's.
He scored in three of four.
four weeks in a row. I was just about
to say Tanges McBasketball
is the tight in 10 on the season right now.
Barnardt, tight in 9.
They're getting it done. And I will say that if you want to talk
quarterback, I am more confident in
Sam Donald than either of the San Francisco
guys right now. Because while
they're getting it done,
Brock is injured.
And Mac is a weirdo.
He's played great.
Juan Johnson, people want to know if you can drop him
for Mason Taylor. I would drop him for Mason Taylor.
Taylor, if you really need a tight end, but Joanne, again, playing the game.
If Joanne were on the waiver wire right now, he would be a priority ad for me.
Well, he always has been for you, though.
Yeah.
I would rather have Joanne than Mason Taylor.
Johnson has not been...
You had a couple of bad weeks in a row, yeah.
Not been good.
But I believe that everyone we're talking about, including Mason Taylor, they're going to be kind of streaming spot starts.
There's very few tight ends in the league that are just...
You lock them in.
Well, the targets were there for Joanne Johnson in the beginning of the year.
Neither one of those guys is getting 10 targets every single week.
Okay.
Yeah, I like Mason Taylor more.
Theo Johnson got into the end zone twice.
And they need him with Darius Slate.
But I think he's a scary, terrifying.
He is a scary start.
He doesn't put any yards up.
No, not at all.
For being the most athletic tight end in history, he really doesn't do a lot with that athleticism.
but the opportunity should be there.
He still had seven targets.
I mean,
you have Jackson Dart games,
five targets, seven targets.
It hasn't turned into production.
No neighbors.
Well, it did this last week, two touchdowns.
Yeah, yeah, I meant yards, you know.
I would throw Theo on my,
on my bed.
I'll take Mason Taylor over here.
Do you want, and you probably go Theo over Tungis
past McBasketball, just for long term.
Oh, if you were looking long term?
Yeah.
on a flyer. Yeah. I don't look long-term a tight-in unless it's like two or three names,
including Juan Johnson. Like I'm just going to play the best player that week. Things are changing
so quick. I would agree. But if you have, if you're doing the thing where you're playing
Juan Johnson one week or Zach Ertz one week or Mark Andrews one week, at that point, I do think
Mason Taylor and Theo Johnson, those guys should be picked up as a second tight end in hopes that they can
in, you know, their early career, you know, a rookie and a second-year player,
develop into the number two target for their franchise.
Defenses this week, there's quite a few that have good matchups.
The Patriots have the Saints in New Orleans.
Hope you stashed them.
Playing great.
The Colts have the Cardinals at home.
The Browns are actually Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh has the Browns.
That's the one that I'm more interested in.
although you can play both sides of it
I like the Pittsburgh side more
it's in Pittsburgh their defense has been
outrageously good for two consecutive
weeks and they get the face of rookie
and Dylan Gabriel they didn't move the ball
tremendously well they
they had what they scored two times
Carl Singh it's a 37 and a half
I like I like both sides but I like
Pittsburgh way more
yeah I mean there's so many teams
the Rams had such a bad
outing last week but they
go to Baltimore that is
Snoop? Yeah, Snoop. Oh, you're going to do it again.
Pro Bowl. The Las Vegas Raiders play Tennessee, by the way, and they're going to put pressure on Cam Ward all day long.
Yeah, I'm perfectly fine with the Raiders.
So that would be another one. And then just keep an eye on your league for the Packers if they were dropped on the buy because they play Cincinnati and they're favored by 175 points.
I'll take you. You're going to take you over? No, I'll let them cover.
Oh, okay. That was this week's waiver wire presented by Walmart. Who knew you can get what you need in as fast as an hour. Get free delivery.
your first express delivery order with the code express valid for first express delivery order
$50 minimum subject to availability restrictions apply
full stream ahead well this could be me this week I don't know depending on what
Kyler Murray you probably shouldn't be in my lineup anyways but what happens with
this foot we'll see streaming quarterback options for the week you need a spot start
there are some good ones out there I think for me it's insert 49
quarterback. I think the matchup against Tampa Bay and the fact that they can't run the football
the way that they've been running it in the past. You've seen good fantasy weeks from Mac Jones,
good ones from Brock Purdy. Whoever starts for San Francisco is my stream of the week.
Yeah, I'm going to go with Matthew Stafford. He's leading the entire NFL in passing yards right now,
and he gets the Baltimore matchup that we just saw CJ Stroud go ham.
Man, there we have. I know their injuries. It's just it's sad to see.
If Stafford gets to play a college team, which right now it feels like,
You're just playing backups.
It's pretty easy.
You look at what they've given up on the season.
They let Patrick Mahomes score three more points than his average.
Stroud scored more than his average.
Everyone who plays him is basically done well except for the Lions.
And Stafford's been pretty on fire.
I think the Devante Adams around the goal line has really helped his fantasy output.
And if you need to get a little bit nasty with your streaming quarterback,
Bryce Young is playing the Dallas Cowboys.
and the Dallas Cowboys have been allowing
lots and lots of points above expectation
to opposing quarterbacks
and they are in fact dead last and expected points
per pass attempt
and the
I mean that Liget
the Ligette throw and touchdown
I thought that was
that was legit. That was like a good play
and Teterole McMillan is
I think we're about to see
He's percolating? I think it's about to go off.
If you want Teterole McMillan
you need to go do it before this weekend against the Dallas Cowboys.
I think this will be where the window closes on any sort of affordable offers.
Yeah, it's been frustrating because he makes plays every week that are like...
He looks so good, man.
Yeah, he looks great, but then, you know, Bryce Young looks so bad so often.
He does, but he just...
He hasn't scored yet.
Yeah, that's going to get into the end zone at some point.
It is really crazy.
I mean, you talk about...
It's not like Bryce Young has thrown no touchdowns, but he's on pace for 1,200 yards,
and it doesn't have a touchdown right now.
I was going to say right now, Ted McMillan has six fewer yards than Devante Adams.
Like, he's 14th in the league right now at wide receiver.
He's playing very, very well.
Just needs some touchdowns.
14th in yardage?
Yeah, in yardage.
I'm curious what his fantasy, do you have Tetaroa, like, what's wide receiver or what right now in the season?
Just overall raw points?
Yeah, just like.
Raw points.
Is he in the top?
27.
Okay.
Okay.
