Starting point is 00:00:06 to the fantasy footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. Welcome, man. Oh, my gosh, it was football time. It really was. Mike. Oh. How did that happen? I'll tell you what.
Starting point is 00:00:36 No one knows. I assume, because I know for myself, and we do this professionally, like, I don't watch the Hall of Fame game. I drive a dog Stratis. I don't usually watch the Hall of Fame game. The only reason that I really turned it on, obviously Larry's going to the Hall of Fame, and Carson Beck was starting.
Starting point is 00:00:55 And so I wanted to see it. Right. Oh, we saw it. But the thing is, is regardless of whether you care about Carson Beck or the Cardinals or, you know, the Colts, or the Panthers, whoever, if you watched it,
Starting point is 00:01:09 it was a wildly fun game. Like, really fun. back and forth crazy ending. It was like, it was good football. I mean, last second win. Yeah. Final play of the game. Like a walkoff. I mean, you don't, you don't get that in football very often. No, because this was like, and thank goodness. And of course, but it was, you know,
Starting point is 00:01:28 they could have kicked a field goal to tie the end and go to overtime, which would have been like the play you would have done probably in regular season. But, you know, you don't need more of the Hall of Fame game. So they just, it's like a timeless. That was really fun. It was great. It really was football. Carson Beck was awesome. I mean,
Starting point is 00:01:47 it's what I hear. Four incompletions. Did you not watch it? No, I was not able to watch it. Wow. Well, you missed out, Mike. I was at mandatory parent meetings.
Starting point is 00:01:57 For football? Yeah. Oh, that's, this is like, a lot of you think Mike works here full time. No, no, this is my side gig.
Starting point is 00:02:04 This is Mike's side hustle. He's a football father. He's a dad to a son who's in high school football. the mandatory meeting thing for parents. Right. They lay that on thick, too. It's like, what are they going to do? Are they going to take your kid and kick them off the team if you don't show up?
Starting point is 00:02:23 It's, it's... Where's his father? It's funny to me, and I understand all these things. You got to be informed, but it's funny. Oh, the mandatory meeting. And then we have, we got to donate to the snack bar this weekend, but it's a mandatory donation. You get to donate?
Starting point is 00:02:41 And I'm like, I don't think. that word means what you think it means. I think what you're looking for is a fee. There's a mandatory fee. These clubs are out of control. It's not just sports. We should start something. We really need to. My kids are in a theater where they're in an outreach, an outreach group. They have to pay to join the group. But then if you're in the group that you pay for, you must participate in all these donation events, which is like, wait, we're paying so that we have to pay more? What are we doing? It's wild. By the way, I want to say thank you to the 9,000 people who have DM me their golf tips
Starting point is 00:03:17 for all the things I was doing wrong. The Falcon decided to put together a play nine holes with Andy. Then he's going to do a play nine holes with Jason. That'll be a longer video. But just so that, you know. Can you time lapse it? Yeah, we might have to skip a few holes, you see. Yeah, it's been a humbling experience receiving all of your thoughts and comments.
Starting point is 00:03:39 Most of you concerned with me chewing on a golf. tea. That was the number one tip because, and this is a good, there's a good piece of advice they care if you were taking the tea out of the ground and putting it in your mouth, there's all sorts of- I'd be eating chemicals. Yeah, but that wasn't what you were doing, of course, because you're not a monster. No, I mean, this was a regular unused golf tea.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Yeah, like, you know. Like you're supposed to consume. And I realize the irony with my tooth problems. Yeah. You chew on things that you shouldn't chew on. Also, you did just purchase. You literally, after this, purchased flavored golf teas.
Starting point is 00:04:16 Ridiculous. With dental grade plastic. Okay. They're safe to consume. But yeah, that was humbling. A weird idea. To do that? Yeah. It's because people chew on golf teas, whether they should or shouldn't, that happens enough to where there's now a market of me out there.
Starting point is 00:04:36 Yeah, I mean, people sell cigarettes. It's like, you shouldn't, but if you do. There were some people that thought I was just lighting up that thought I smoked at the golf course. I'll have a cigar in my mouth for my play nine. Just don't dip it in the grass with the pesticides. We have a great show today. We got wide receiver countdown.
Starting point is 00:04:56 We got the news to talk about. We got the ultimate draft kit available right now. If you do not have it and you are prepping up for drafts, the interval season starts one week later than it did last. year and we have a lot of drafts coming up the rest of this month and into early September because the kickoff is September 9th yeah so you're going to have drafts I mean we we have ours on Labor Day for a League of Record other drafts throughout the month but you want to be prepared we have put together the ultimate draft kit
Starting point is 00:05:28 over 130,000 words of original content analysis player analysis rankings all of our you know the draft analyzer as part of the UDK Plus the mock draft tool is brand new And I think we saw yesterday, over 150,000 mock drafts have already taken place on the platform, always updating and improving the UDK every single day. We have videos on- I'm talking about Cyrus Allen here, baby. Yeah, I mean, there's a lot of the unheralded rookies that are making waves. This is the time of year where we can make some notes on them, make sure you're aware of them in the draft kit.
Starting point is 00:06:04 And we've got videos, individual videos on basically every single really relevant player. those are worth a watch or a listen. You can do it either way. And yeah, it's all in the UDK. And if you are sticking with us throughout the season, one of the things we do from February all the way through kickoff is allow you to take the full price that you paid for the UDK and just apply it to become an ultimate Foot Clan member,

Footclan giveaway.com for a sign. There's so much going on right now. Bejan Robinson, Jersey. You can go do that.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Quick question of the day comes in from Brandon in Nebraska. He says in my 12th team PPR league, we do not know the draft order until one hour before draft time. I just want to hear your input. So mysterious. On how I should prepare myself best for this draft. Yeah, we do this for our listener league, which thank you all who have submitted. And you get a morbid satisfaction out of it. I do.
Starting point is 00:07:28 I really love that you can't truly fully prepare. But you can prepare. I mean. Yeah, people get desperate though. They're like, Jason, come on. Come on. Tell us. What I really want to do is like, I want to give them the order so that they prepare
Starting point is 00:07:41 and then last second change it so that they prepared wrong. In fact, I'm doing that this year. Can I get agreement? Wait, what do you want to do? I know, but they might not be listening to this episode right now. But I'm saying, if they're in the listener league, they better be listening to this episode. Yeah, that's true. They better be listening to all of them.
Starting point is 00:08:00 I was saying I should set a draft order now and then completely change it right before the draft. But they'll know. If they're listening. That's, you know, it's an advantage. Here's the answer to the question. Because the real trick is through the draft order and then surprise them like 30 seconds later, but don't tell them on this show. Well, sure, but I've already told them.
Starting point is 00:08:20 When you have a draft like this coming up, mock drafts are incredibly important. That's why we just built a mock draft tool. What you do is you do a handful of drafts from the two, the seven, and the 11, assuming it's a 12-person team. all you really need to know is what is it like at the beginning, the middle, or the end of drafts? You don't have to know your exact draft spot. You just need to know, like, when I'm near the back end of the first round, you know, and I'm near the one, two, and the three, four turn. What players, what positions, really, do I like better or worse in the next time I'm on the clock, the next time I'm on the clock? That's pretty much all you have to do. I think. That's how I would.
Starting point is 00:09:04 like to prepare. Yeah, I mean, I think it's the essence of what we do in our rankings as well. It's the tier-based drafting strategy puts you in a position where you are able to react to whatever happens. Just because you know your draft spot, okay, maybe you can project your first round situation perfectly or you know kind of where things are falling, you're going to get surprised, no matter whether you know it or not throughout the second, third, fourth, fifth round and beyond. And we use tiers to define player groupings so that you can make decisions down the line.
Starting point is 00:09:39 And we did a mock draft show yesterday. There were oftentimes who were looking at the situation saying, look, this player is the final one of a group of relevant running backs I like. And there's still five or six wide receivers in that tier I like. So I'm going to move to the running back position. I think tier-based drafting is another key to that. And I agree with the mock draft analysis as well. Yeah, we have a tips and tricks episode coming up soon.
Starting point is 00:10:03 There might be more info on that to come. All right. We can move on. Talk some news. News and notes from around the league. I mean, it is news that Carson Beck completed 14 of 18 passes. Two of the misses were drops. One was an intentional throwaway.
Starting point is 00:10:24 He was excellent. And these weren't just, you know, dump offs. This was down the field. This was across the middle. It's relevant because we're all sitting here saying, you know, When is Mendoza going to play? When is Carson Beck going to take the field? How is this going to impact Bowers and McBride?
Starting point is 00:10:38 If I'm the Arizona Cardinals, and their ex-GM even came out last night and said what we're all thinking, which is you know you're going to be one of the worst teams in the league. The Cardinals are favored in zero games. So, okay, maybe you outkick your coverage a little bit and you win five. You win because what, they're projected for three and a half? Is it three? I thought it was four and a half. It might be four and a half.
Starting point is 00:10:59 Ooh. I mean, this is. Whoa, whoa, whoa, buddy. Oh, it is three and a half. The point is, this is your goal this season. And this is where you've got a rookie head coach. You want to win games. Everybody wants to win games.
Starting point is 00:11:11 You want to show your team that you're playing the best players. I get it. But your true agenda this year will be at some point to understand if you have anything in Carson Beck. Who was the third quarterback drafted in the NFL draft? You will want to know if you need to use a high pick on a quarterback or not, which means, look, we'll see what the rest of the preseason looks like. It's one game. Let me ask you this.
Starting point is 00:11:32 But he started in Cantonese. ending in Canton, baby. Yeah, Max Hall also looked great in preseason once for the Cardinals. Let me ask you this. If this actually moves the needle of Carson Beck to start more games, which I believe it has or will, if you knew that Carson Beck was starting 75% of the season, or let's just say all, the entire season,
Starting point is 00:11:56 you just said recently that you are Trey McBride over Brock Bowers. Would that flip it for you? Would that be a negative for Trey McBride? that the rookie will start the whole season because he won't be as good as... Yes. It would flip it for me. Yeah, because I just don't think the touchdown totals
Starting point is 00:12:11 are going to be anywhere near what Jacoby Resett was able to do. And we just talked about McBride. One of the keys to his dominance was 11 touchdowns, double-digit touchdowns with a rookie. I find to be somewhat unrealistic. Bauer still is going to have his challenges at some point in time, but at least it's the number one overall pick. It's exciting,
Starting point is 00:12:30 but it was the Hall of Fame game Yeah. Where this is just, this is an audition for guys who may not even get more chances in preseason. I love one of the- We are burying the lead on the Hall of Fame game, by the way. Are we? I can't believe it. Hings King?
Starting point is 00:12:46 Nope. Oh. Why don't you tell me what the lead is? Yeah. You don't know what it is? I thought it was Carson. A-chan. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:55 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Ha-ha-ha-ha. Ha! You're laughing at yourself. No, no, no, I am not. I am laughing upon the...
Starting point is 00:13:07 We've taken a lot of heat. And it's not just like, hey, guys, it's confusing. It is a barrage of insults. People are like, I'm never listening to this show again, unless you start calling him ETIN. It's like, dude, chill out. We're trying to figure out what the right thing is for it to respect this man. Yeah, we want to call him ETIN.
Starting point is 00:13:26 It would be so much easy. A. Chan is the name of another player at the same position. But last night, Carolina, at the running back position, his brother, Trevor A. Chan, is what they said on the broadcast. That's what they want to be called. And they went through. At least with Travis, we get a junior on it and we can make it easier for everyone. I'm trying to get Rumbola going, I'm doing my best, but we're not going to call him the wrong name. Yeah, it does look like the broadcast teams will be calling Travis and Trevor A. Chan.
Starting point is 00:13:56 And it will be okay. We will get six weeks into the season and everything will be just fine. We'll be used to it. Yeah. We'll be bemoaning. Travis A.C.N. Jr. not catching those houses. And that's what feels bad. Because we were trying to respect it.
Starting point is 00:14:10 I'm just saying, like the vitriol, which was so weird. Well, I mean, yeah. I mean. In your face. Oh, okay, Mike. All right. Let's keep on our team. Jamir Gibbs, three year $67 million extension.
Starting point is 00:14:25 It's on yesterday's show. was a matter of moments and it happened and he gets what, 500K more than than Bejohns. That's what we said is like, do you want to be the first? Because if you're the first, you set the line and then the next guy's going to go give me just a little bit more than that. The two should have gotten together and been like, all right, whoever signs it first will split the difference between what I get above
Starting point is 00:14:48 and we'll just get them both done like a chop pot. Jalen Knoll coming off the NFI list. Jail and Oll's got a uphill climb. You've got Tank Dell and Jaden Higgins and Xavier Hutchinson and yeah, Jalen Knoll's probably not going to be relevant. Jayden Higgins has been getting a lot of positive buzz in camp. So it's a name to pay attention to with Chris. You're two wide receiver for the Texans.
Starting point is 00:15:11 I did watch this. We're talking about Alec Pierce and the return from left ankle surgery. I watched, like it's being reported that Shane Stuyken says there's no timetable. I watched the press conference. This is getting blown out of proportion, in my opinion. Because all they did was say, is there any update to the timetable? And he said, no, no update. He's doing great.
Starting point is 00:15:33 He's working out. He's doing a hell of a job in his rehab process. And he wouldn't even believe his rehab. So then this is great reporting for you, Andy, because you're in on Alec Pierce this year. I mean, this isn't not great. I'd rather have him give a timetable that says tomorrow. I'm saying great because this will push his ADP down. People will be more and more afraid.
Starting point is 00:15:52 And if you're watching past the headline and you see that it's really, no different than what we already knew was happening. That's how I'm interpreting it. Now I don't I don't like that. I mean it's just a weird situation when you have and we've had this before I mean Godwin. Godwin is a perfect example of this. Godwin had a major injury, then signed a major contract extension, then had to come back from injury.
Starting point is 00:16:13 Alec Pierce just to be under, wasn't that good. Just so you understand he was paid like 86 million guaranteed. He's 27, 28 million a year as a wide receiver. That is And then they said goodbye Michael Pittman. So that's their level of belief. Now, they can't control outcomes of rehabbing and surgery and things like that or setbacks if those happen.
Starting point is 00:16:37 All this to say, it's August 7th. We are a month. We're more than a month away from the kickoff of the NFL season and even further from the Sunday in which the Colts play. I'm not going to panic today. But if in three weeks from now, Alec Pierce has not been running around at training camp, I will then be worried. I'm giving it a three-week timer right now because he's the bona fide guaranteed number one of this wide receiver room. Now, don't you think that if he gets back for the first time in three weeks that he will be starting slow? I don't know. I don't know if he'll be starting slow because you're still going to have almost two weeks to get back into shape.
Starting point is 00:17:16 We'll see. I mean, you don't go two weeks? Okay, yeah, I do. I do. I think he needs at least a two-week ramp up. Yeah, yeah, that's fine. Jaylon Waddle, a strain will return a. four to five days. He's fine. He's used to this. Walking with a limp, that is the waddle walk. I mean, that is what he does. How do they not say he was walking with a
Starting point is 00:17:36 wattle? Yeah. They said walking with a limp. They didn't say he was waddling around, which he was. Wouldn't you be waddling with a limp? Isn't that actually what you'd be doing? Yeah, that's fine. He's a waddling with a waddle. Romeo Dobbs did not practice on Wednesday or
Starting point is 00:17:52 Thursday. They think it's not serious. Yeah, that doesn't sound serious. The Patriots wide receiver room is fascinating if you've been following what's going on with the training camp because the offseason was Kishon Booty, who was a very solid player for them, a deep threat last year. He felt like the odd man out. Like he was not. He didn't just feel like it. He requested a trade. He continues to. He's asking for one now. He was not showing up to some voluntary stuff and talks of a trade. But all the reporting is like, Kishon booty is one of the best wide receivers for the Patriots this entire training camp process.
Starting point is 00:18:34 So it's like who is actually going to be playing for this? Because you're, Demerio Douglas is going to get a lot of snaps because Diggs with short area targets. That's the question. Because you have AJ Brown's a lock. Romeo Dobbs would be insane if you gave him that amount of money and then he's not your two. So then it's the three. Well, then.
Starting point is 00:18:54 But should you put, are you putting Dobbs in the slot then and putting Booty on the outside? Because you have Douglas, who is a great slot. Well, and Booty's requested a trade, right? Because he feels like he doesn't have a real opportunity. A lot of people have assumed he would be traded. I'm surprised he's still a Patriot. Maybe they're waiting for a higher price. But there's some teams out there that could, you telling me the Chiefs aren't better with Booty?
Starting point is 00:19:17 Sure. But, yeah, well. We're all better with Booty. Yeah. Kishon. Bouté. Yeah, I mean, Demi, Demos. Mario Douglas, I mean, he only played, I mean, Pop Douglas played like 27% of snaps last year. And his reports in the preseason have been great, but he's a limited player.
Starting point is 00:19:33 It's mysterious what's going on up there. And you've got Matt Collins. Don't forget about the barefoot merchant. Dude, Mac Collins rules. All right, we'll take a break here and we're going to jump into wide receiver rankings. It should be fun. We've got a couple shows for wide receivers. Countdown 20 through 11.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Wide receivers. It should be said in the context of the Alec Pierce news. with a team that's lost Michael Pittman. Jason's already talked a lot about Tyler Warren, but if Alec Pierce is limited, if it takes some time to get going, it's all the more reason to spend an early pick on Josh Downs and give him a shot because somebody has to catch the ball there,
Starting point is 00:20:22 he's going to get more opportunities, whether he's going to be good enough on the outside is TBD, but he's still going to be on the field. And behind him, it's Ashton Doolin, which has been the case for a while, which, you know, that's part of the reason I'm not, sure about downs being great on the outside. It's like, why weren't you taking snaps from him before?
Starting point is 00:20:40 But you had Pittman in the slot. So, yeah. Wide receiver rankings countdown. Let's do it. Here's some numbers for you. What makes a wide receiver, too? We're looking at 20 through 11 today. Over the last decade among a 110 wide receivers finishing in this range,
Starting point is 00:20:56 84% of them average seven or more targets per game. I mean, seven or more is a big number. 77% had a thousand or more. receiving yards and 75% had six or more receiving touchdowns. When did we switch to 17 games, by the way? Can we officially remember that day? No, we cannot officially remember that date. No one.
Starting point is 00:21:17 But in a 17-game season, seven targets a game would be 119 targets. 20-21. Okay, so we've had half a decade. I just think it's funny when you're like 77% of about a thousand or more receiving yards, but you got an extra game for half of them. So an extra opportunity to do it. it. Those thresholds, nobody's adjusted properly.
Starting point is 00:21:39 Yeah, but numbers are... I mean, when it gets to 18, are you just going to keep saying that he's a thousand-yard receiver? Sure, we haven't done that. But also production has been down. We've talked about that globally. T. Higgins comes in at number 20, guys. That feels like a real floor situation for
Starting point is 00:21:55 T. Higgins. And we all have them ranked there. I think just because we like the upside of a lot of other players, I mean, classic situation, Jason. You and I have them higher than Mike. Yeah. Look, we we love T. Higgins here. You and I do, yeah. Go on.
Starting point is 00:22:12 Being drafted as the wide receiver 14. That's fine. You've released. Why are we all below ADP? Why are we all below ADP? I think the reason we're below ADP is because where T. Higgins scores his fantasy points in recent memory is touchdowns. Like he was on pace for 12 and a half touchdowns.
Starting point is 00:22:30 And he can absolutely 100% replicate that. But we can't project him. for 12 and a half touchdown. So, like, I have him projected for nine touchdowns, which... I have him at 8.2. Yeah, and so when you do that, when you project kind of a good median outcome, it's going to hurt him whenever there's a guy who is really touchdown heavy on where the fantasy points come from, they'll usually be a little lower in, like, linear rankings.
Starting point is 00:23:00 21 receiving touchdowns over the last two years. Yeah, only chase on Ron Adams up more than that. Wow. It's just touchdowns aren't a sticky stat. I mean, but they are for a few, a few people. You always have an injury concern with T. Higgins, no question. It's been a problem. Anytime a player has a narrative that involves him running up a hill at practice, you know, injuries have been part of his story. Yeah, I mean, this is also when I look at factual information. Yeah, when I look at last year, I'm like, thank goodness, we finally got a full season out of T. Higgins. He still missed two games and was injured, but it feels great.
Starting point is 00:23:38 That's a full season for him. That's a full season. 15 games is a full season for T. Higgins. If you tell me T. Higgins gets a thousand yards, I'll be like, wow. Yeah, because per game, in 12 games, he got 1,000? I mean, they're in some of the highest over-under games of the season. I mean, the Bengals average, I think, line is like 49. Yes.
Starting point is 00:23:58 So, again, this comes down to there's two factors for T. Higgins. One is that his quarterback's healthy, and that's not always been the game. the case and the other is that Higgins is healthy and that's not always been the case. If both of those are true, the way they pass the football, I mean, T. Higgins is really, this is the floor for him. This is the floor as far as our ranking of 20. He's being drafted
Starting point is 00:24:18 at wide receiver 14. I don't have any problem with that. Take your shots on T. Higgins because he can finish as high as the wide receiver. Six. I was going to say like 10. I think he can easily be top 10. I mean, you also have the built-in obvious if the injury happens. If the injury
Starting point is 00:24:34 happens to Jemar Chase. What's his highest fantasy finish ever? I'm just curious. Per game? No, no, no. I believe it's 17. Okay. So yeah, that's where I, six seems a little. Yeah, I mean, that is under the, that's like if Jamar Chase gets injured and he ends up with
Starting point is 00:24:52 12 touchdowns. In 2024, he was 15 and a half points per game. Right. 15 and a half points per game would be probably higher than. Well, in 12 games, so that was good enough for the wide receiver 19, saying if you get a If you're at 15 and a half and you play 15 games, also notice that we're calling it the full season for T. Higgins, you're going to be a top 10 guy.
Starting point is 00:25:14 This is year seven for T. Higgins. Yeah, 15 and a half would have been wide receiver five last year. George Pickens, for context, was 14.4 last year. But I want... It's kind of chicken egg, though, right? Because it's like, if you don't play enough games, you also don't have as many games that you can have a down game or anything like that. Yeah, for sure.
Starting point is 00:25:30 The thing is, is this year, and every year you want to target certain, teams. I want to target the cowboys, the bangles, and the lions. I want as many pieces from those teams as I can get. And the Rams? Yeah, the Rams too. That's fine. Those don't feel like debatable picks, you're saying? Well, yeah, I mean... The Rams were the top
Starting point is 00:25:48 scoring team in the league last year. For sure. My issue with the Rams is simply that you've got the question at the running back position. Most people do. Well, there is a question. There's a question. I have the answer, but there's a question. But the age of Devante Adams and whether or not he's still got it.
Starting point is 00:26:07 And assuming Aaron Donald is back. I think that defense is... I don't doubt their offense. I don't doubt their offense. I think they'll be the top scoring offense again. I do not. I don't think... Because that's why I put the lions, the Bengals, and the Cowboys in another tier is because of their defense.
Starting point is 00:26:22 All of those offenses are outrageously good. But when one team breaks fantasy, it's usually coinciding with, I got to score 35 points a game. Okay. Tatt McMillan comes in at 19. 23 years old Mike is the highest on Tet McMillan I have no idea what happened here I just like
Starting point is 00:26:42 Well one The reason that you don't know what happened Is because at one point months ago I was very very high on Tetaroa Macmilly It would He was in my top 10 Months ago it was I was the one who was
Starting point is 00:26:53 Kind of scared of McMillan And the two of you guys felt real strong You made great arguments Mike I apparently You overcorrected I have the correct ranking at 15 Oh I went too far.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Yeah, yeah, yeah. I should have gone with the correct ranking. Put him at 15. Tederoa is awesome. He's a great player. If he were in a different situation, he could finish as, you know, a top five wide receiver without question. The question is can Bryce Young do enough to allow Teteroa to be a wide receiver one?
Starting point is 00:27:27 I still believe he can, especially with some of the injuries around that team right now, the other positions are going down, Jadavian San. has gone down. Someone else just went down to an injury. Well, the rookie, the second round rookie will not be playing this year. Yes, that's what it was. And so I like Tet a lot. I just think his ceiling is a little bit hamstrung by Bryce Young.
Starting point is 00:27:54 I mean, you look at last year, and there's some things that were true about Teddowell-McMillan. He was the offensive player of the year as a rookie, right? Offensive rookie of the year. He had over 1,000 yards, and he had seven touchdowns. we like that thousand yard number. So you had a season where he was, he scored seven times and had over a thousand yards.
Starting point is 00:28:11 He finishes at wide receiver 17. And more importantly, for your fantasy team, he only had two weeks where he was inside the top 12 at the position. And one of them was 12 on the dot. So you look at that situation and you say, you know,
Starting point is 00:28:22 I think the T. Higgins v. Tett McMillan is an incredible decision. Because on one hand, you have the clear, bona fide, guarantee number one of a team. And the other, you have obviously number two. of the offense, but a huge difference at total yardage output.
Starting point is 00:28:38 I like Carolina to, you know, I think Bryce Young can take a step forward. I've made that argument before. I, but I think that Jason's right. It'll be a little step, though. It will be a tiny step. Mind you, man, when he was on the sideline last night without. Yeah, no pads, he looked tiny. Without the pads, that was the water boy.
Starting point is 00:28:57 He just, because he's a small guy. Yeah, he's just not a small. He's like Kyler. The upside case for him is Drake London. They're similar players, similar situations where the target market share should be enormous and they don't have good quarterbacks. You're not expecting a great offense. That being said, I think... Can he get to 1,210?
Starting point is 00:29:14 No. I mean, it doesn't seem like a far cry from last year. That would put him in that contention. Yeah, I think he could, but that would... Three more touchdowns, 150 more yards? 10 touchdowns. It's Bryce Young, who in his career, we're going into year four. So as a rookie, just under 2,900 passing yards at 5.5 yards per attempt.
Starting point is 00:29:38 The next year, 2,400 at 6.3. This past year, his best season, just barely passes 3,000 yards at 6.3 yards per attempt and 23 passing touchdowns. McMillan last year was 25% of the targets. He has to jump to 30 plus. Yeah, he needs to be a 30. If you're getting 25% again of Bryce Young, a big jump for Bryce Young with the numbers that he's put up so far
Starting point is 00:30:05 would be 3,500 yards which is like that's not a... That's potentially 1,500 fewer than Burrow with T. Higgins. Right. But if Bryce Young gets to 3,500, Ann McMillan makes a jump to 30%, which is not impossible based on the talent of the player, then you'll be happy.
Starting point is 00:30:24 It's just a big step has to happen for both players. Yeah, he's a great player, but he may be stuck a little bit. And Bryce Young, 34th and average depth of target, 34th. And in seven games, Tett was three or fewer receptions. So if you combine that kind of an output at low depth of target, that would be scary. Yeah, Xavier Ligette was the other guy I was thinking that went down to injury. So I agree, you need to get to 30%.
Starting point is 00:30:49 We all love the talent of Tett. It's just a question of, would you rather have the second wide receiver for the Cowboys, for the Bengals, for great offenses that you know there's just going to be so much points being scored or would you rather have the number one for an inferior offense? I lean the great offense. Like last year, T. Higgins got, you know, the, what was, his final numbers, 59 for 846 and 11 with a 19% target share. Yeah. Just like, yeah. And then McMillan's at 25, barely passing 1,000. So, hey, room for T. Higgins to be even more involved is, is certainly there.
Starting point is 00:31:29 Dante Smith comes in at number 18. I got him in 19, Jason, at 16, Mike, at 18. So we're all right around the same range. Being drafted. Being drafted at wide receiver 17 in the fourth round. It's going to keep going up. Is it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:44 If you look at where money is, if you look at the big money leagues, if you look at, I assume underdog and best ball as well, Kyle looked that up. But I know like the big money leagues. He's usually. Best ball he's going as a top 12 wide receiver. Yeah, he's usually around wide receiver 12 or 13th. 13 and and and we've seen it obviously he's finished as a wide receiver 7 before we've talked a lot about oh i was wrong wide receiver 13 well okay wide receiver well that's on underdog yeah um
Starting point is 00:32:09 so i do think he gets drafted a little higher this feels i was surprised that my ranking my actual statistical ranking is 16 where did where did you said he finished at seven i see him at 10 oh is that sorry yeah he's finished his wide receiver 10 in 2022 i mean he feels like an obvious easy pick and a very, this again feels like a floor pick in terms of like the worst he's going to finish. I would say if Mackay Limon wasn't dealing with hamstring injuries again, maybe McCoy Lemon excitement heading towards the season could keep his ADP in place. I think that the trouble is, is that in this top 20 range, there are a lot of names that are kind of exciting. And we've been around the block with Devonte Smith a little bit. There's pessimism
Starting point is 00:32:52 around the offense. I'm just trying to think of narratives that could keep him lower. But to me, it seems like one of those things where you might, if you pass on him here or you pass on him even a little bit higher, you may just really, really regret it because it might be really obvious about six weeks into the year that this guy is a bona fide wide receiver one in fantasy. I think it is worth. And they're favored in the four of their first six. Yeah, I think it's worth saying Devante Smith because he has been a wide receiver two in the NFL for his own team. But Devante Smith is fully 100. percent without question in my mind capable of being an alpha wide receiver one for an NFL
Starting point is 00:33:33 team. He is an elite wide receiver. He came in as one of the best prospects ever if he was just, if he weighed a few more pounds, you know, he was a little too light coming into the NFL. But when he came in, he was one of the best prospects statistically. He just was 170 pounds. that doesn't usually work, but he is so good as an actual wide receiver that he's overcome that. And I don't think that there's any fear there personally with whether he can step from the wide receiver two role to the wide receiver one. The Eagles have done a really good job of just taking people other teams have talked themselves out of for dumb reasons with Jaylon Carter.
Starting point is 00:34:12 Now the highest paid defensive player in football or whatever. And Devante Smith, they just get the Heisman winner, you know? I mean, they took them with the 10th pick overall. It's been a minute. And the smaller wide receiver archetype has been working more and more. Speaking of which, number 17, Zay Flowers.
Starting point is 00:34:31 Zay Flowers at 17. What is happening? I knew you're going to. What is happening? I was really hoping you didn't see that. Stop copying me. Oh, man. What is happening?
Starting point is 00:34:41 I didn't know that I was, I'm out of here, dude. Hates Zay Flowers. Why do you hate Zay Flowers? You're the lowest of amongst us. You have him as wide receiver 20. Ouch. We've got him higher than that. What are you doing here, Mike?
Starting point is 00:34:54 I thought you were a fan. I thought he thought Zay was like a good player. You guys saw what happened last year for my rankings and you're like, I need, I need in on Mike's advice. Last year's wide receiver 7. Gosh, darn it. I'm moving them up right now. I'm just throwing numbers in.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Got that bag. I don't even care if I believe him. 104 guaranteed. Zay Flowers comes in at 17. Have you guys been reading about like Lamar's relationship with Harbaugh and Monkin and stuff like that. It's very... There we go. Wider Cere of 14.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Okay. Okay. Well, that happened quick. I gave him a touchdown. Okay. Which is a big deal for him. He's not really known for getting those. I'm not out of control. I have him at a projection of 6.7.
Starting point is 00:35:45 Well, he's only at 14 over the last three years. And you've heard my bear case on Zay Flowers before. There are lots of games, and this is kind of a Baltimore thing. Yeah, you put that bear to hibernation. There are a lot of games where they've not needed them. I mean, this has been part of the career of Zayflowers. For whatever reason, there are games that Zayflowers looks dominant. And then there are games where, I mean, you had games last year, two for 13.
Starting point is 00:36:12 Okay, that's the wide receiver 89. Two for six on 95% of snaps. So there's some elements to the game for Zayflau. Flowers where he's just at times disappeared over the years. Same thing happened the year before, and it was really frustrating because you basically ping pong between disappearing acts, three points, one point, 15, 17, three points, 15, 27, five points.
Starting point is 00:36:36 It's not been as consistent for Zay Flowers as other players, but last year it was a step up in his points per game. He played all 17 games. He's been very healthy, something you can't say about T. Higgins. I do have my questions about, I feel like Lamar, the Lamar situation is basically does he gel with the head coach and the offensive coordinator? And it seems like it's been hard for certain people to connect with him and get him motivated. The reports right now are that he is.
Starting point is 00:37:03 But that was lost at times with Harbaugh. Yeah, this was the undersized wide receiver that I remembered finished as wide receiver 7, which was last year. Right. Flowers, one of the stickiest most predictive stats at wide receiver for future success is simply targeting. share. Yep. That actually sticks around and has a high correlation with being good the following season. His target share in his career has gone up each of his three seasons, started at a very healthy 24, then 25 last year, 29%. What about the $104 million they gave in this offseason? What does that say to his target share? It's amazing. If Zay Flowers was a guy who
Starting point is 00:37:44 was used around the red zone and was a touchdown threat, this would be a guy. A guy, guy easily in the second round of fantasy drafts because you know he's on a good offense. He's the clear cut one with a high enough target share. The touchdowns are really, really holding them back. Now, you don't project, I mean, Mike does. Mike projects, you know, 6.7 touchdowns. Might be a record. You don't, that would be his record, I'm sure. Without looking that up, I'm positive, that would be his record. You don't project him to have a ton of touchdowns. And I think could he have an outlier season, sure, but that would be low odds. However, this is an archetype that is usually a really good fantasy football odds bet bet on a guy whose target volume
Starting point is 00:38:28 is great on a great offense and touchdowns it's only gone up touchdowns they bounce around you they they they have if if he ends up with seven touchdowns next year he'll be probably a wide receiver one and he's not being he's being drafted pretty late so i i like taking a shot on zay Zayflower's number one, the talent, he's awesome. This is a new offense. So I think that that's what provides some excitement of, we can look back historically over the first three years, five, four, and five touchdowns.
Starting point is 00:39:04 This is different. You know, there is an opportunity. There's a chance that Zayflowers scores more touchdown. And this is like, not when Jacoby Lane's taking them. This is a stretch, but it's just, to prove my point. Remember when Tray McBride couldn't catch touchdowns? Yep.
Starting point is 00:39:23 Three touchdowns. Sophomore year. Two touchdowns the year after that. Eleven. I'm not saying 11 touchdowns are coming for Zay Flowers, but it's when a variable changes, which one changed for Tray McBride last year, Jacobi came in.
Starting point is 00:39:40 This is a different offense for Lamar and I... He's just a little. He just a little guy. Yeah, but he plays. He plays big. All right, Jalen Waddle comes in at 16. We've talked extensively about Waddle recently. He was on the Monday episode.
Starting point is 00:39:55 He was Mike's fire pick. It is, you know, it's hard for me to be fully bought in on Jalen Waddle as much as I'd like to be simply because it's been a struggle fantasy-wise over the last three seasons for Jalen Waddle. I don't think on a per play basis when you're watching him, you're like, oh, that guy doesn't have the same, you know, juice, the same wiggle. but the fantasy production has been slowed and it's not like we didn't have confidence in his offensive coordinator the last three years. So part of it's been slowed by his injury situation, which is daily. Yeah, as you say, it's not a great thing that when we bring him up on the show, he's already hurt. It's not a great thing that the only way that you give good numbers for Jaylon Waddle is to be like when he was healthy and when Tua was healthy and when this happens and that happens. When everything goes right, things are good.
Starting point is 00:40:42 But I am excited about it. That's not everything. Just health. I don't know. I mean, even when he was, yeah, but yeah, yeah, okay. I mean, the points per game, his first and second season were his best, and we're three more years removed from it. So it's a little bit of caution, but look, we got him at 16 for a reason.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Well, Mike's got him lowest. Yeah, Mike does have them lowest. What is happening? I don't know, man. You know you control your rankings. You know who you should talk to? You sound like the head coach that's like, I've got to get the ball to my running back more. And you always yell at them like, you know you are the one.
Starting point is 00:41:13 We're all trying to figure out who did this. I am trying to figure out. You're in a hot dog suit right now, my man. That's fine. I'm delicious. I'm trying to figure out what other weird names he's got so much higher. That's what I don't know. Higher than these guys that me and you obviously like.
Starting point is 00:41:26 Yeah. Wait until the next episode, the top 10 is going to be wild. He's going to be crazy. Jack Bash. No, but look, Waddle, we talked a lot about him on Monday. You know the story on Waddle, but we got him in 16. We'll take a break and we'll come back with the next five names. No one's in my top 20.
Starting point is 00:41:51 There's just no one there. I start at 14. Ameca, Bucca is at 15. Unsurprisingly, Mike is the lowest on a mecca Bucca. Now when I stand by. I've got him at 11. So that's where I'm definitely. Bullish.
Starting point is 00:42:06 Yeah, I mean, on the Monday episode, it was Abuka as the fire pick. So Mike's fire pick, Jan Lovato, my fire pick, Emeka, Buka. I just think this offense is going to run through him. He's playing the Z position. I love Baker. I love the line situation. and I don't, you know, I just don't see anybody that's going to take away his target share. There's a bunch of ancillary players that are talented.
Starting point is 00:42:30 Godwin at this juncture of his career, talented possession receiver. McMillan, you know, Tess Johnson, Ted Hurst, are all, they're all talented. But it's going to be the Abuca office. You have no one ranked in your top 50. No, I love a book. I made the case on Monday. So maybe Jason, where are you out? Because you're kind of between our rankings.
Starting point is 00:42:55 I am a believer in the talent. He was my guy going into last year. The departure of Mike Evans in the off season versus an injury in season allows them to put Ibuka where he's going to succeed. The offensive line injuries, although I did see Tristan Worf's was injured right now, which is like, that's a really big deal for this offense. This is a great player. I think the offense should be good. The injuries to him and Baker last year, you know, you had a tail of two halves. And which half is the truth?
Starting point is 00:43:28 I think both had some truth, but he's good. So I mean, I've got him right in the middle at wide receiver 15. I think that's right where he'll finish. As a high-end wide receiver two, the question's just going to be draft price. Are you paying that or not? currently it looks like he's being drafted as wide receiver 19 so i'm i'm in on taking the shot yeah the i don't have a problem with it like the upside is tremendous i do think godwin has more left uh in the tank i you're speaking of ranks i have godwin ranked much higher than you guys he's
Starting point is 00:44:03 not a top 20 type of player but i'm just i'm not a hundred percent sure that it's like the abuka takeover is what the outcome of this year is for the bucks At number 14, it is the tried and true. Garrett Wilson. Points per game in his career, 10.2, 9.7, 11.8, 11.6. Kind of always just, he just always is there when the team has the capability of getting him the football. He's been a target share machine averaging 28%. You know, what could go wrong for Garrett Wilson?
Starting point is 00:44:40 Oh, so much. I mean, he's 26 years old at this point. Gino Smith is throwing him the football. And for it is difficult to remember, Garrett Wilson was dominating for fantasy football last year. It was... Before he was injured, he was the wide receiver five. It was a little, like there was some garbage time,
Starting point is 00:45:02 stinkiness built into it, but it was just, this is a reminder of how good he can be. And it wasn't, like, he ran hot with touchdowns, but he was also, you know, in his, so he was pretty much healthy for five weeks. But in those weeks, he was averaging over 76 receiving yards per game, almost 10 targets in that time. So he just, he is a truly elite player.
Starting point is 00:45:27 Gino's a man. Can he score double-digit touchdowns in New York, Mike? Can he? Um, no. 4, 374. Obviously, missed a bunch of time last year. That's a big question for top 10 potential. I think you can get to 10.
Starting point is 00:45:41 he's good around the goal line and if i mean it's not it's not impossible that he gets 10 but it's not probable reds on touchdowns in four years yeah that's but the nice thing is the team environment is is significantly different i want to remind people last year this version last year's version of the jets through as a team for 2,385 yards which is unimaginably bad. They've made significant improvements to the offensive line. They got a passing quarterback instead of a mobile quarterback in for this season. And, you know, Garrett Wilson is healthy.
Starting point is 00:46:25 I am, for where he's being drafted, I'm all in. I think there's a guy who's guaranteed at least 140 targets, but he could end up with 170 targets. Yeah. Mike's the lowest on him. Yeah. This is incredible. How can he be the lowest on all the players?
Starting point is 00:46:40 I don't know. I don't know. I'm looking at the full rankings worst, the three of us. All right, we finally have one. I want to find out that Kyle's just goofing. No, I mean, look, we finally have someone he's higher on. I'm the lowest on this guy. Number 13, Rashi Rice.
Starting point is 00:46:57 Mike, I'm in the middle. Yeah, he has him at 13. Jason at 11. I'm at 16. We talked about this briefly, I think, yesterday I am I am cooling a little bit on Rashi Rice. I don't think he's a guaranteed wide receiver 1.
Starting point is 00:47:11 I do think he's a pretty guaranteed wide receiver too. But this is one of the offenses we talked about this. The Giants scored seven more touchdowns than this team last year. And there were a lot of third down saves with Patrick Mahomes running the football. Now, I've seen design runs in camp already from Patrick Mahomes. He has seven months removed from that injury and looks fine. But at the same time, you do need to manage that. It's different when the people are actually hitting you.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Yeah. When you can take a shot to the. Yeah, I mean, so I've got him the highest at 11. Obviously, on a points per game basis, he's way better than that in his career. Through three years in the NFL, he's been targeted on 30% of his routes. So only Puka and Malik neighbors are higher than that. This is like the first read, the design play, the get the ball in the hands, yards after catch guy who has always been good. I did move him down recently to 11.
Starting point is 00:48:08 He was higher than that. I just moved him to. solely because of I'm a little worried with the ramp up from the knee injury some of the videos look like he's not he doesn't have that burst back yet but we've got another month
Starting point is 00:48:20 and it was hard you know it's hard to rehab in jail so I imagine haven't been there you said that like a man who knows what he's talking about I apologize for full clarity I have not yet been to jail
Starting point is 00:48:31 what about rehabbed in jail I promise should I go to jail I will not rehab what about that is like a cool like gym idea like it's like the prison gym. Oh, it's the prison just the prison yard. Yeah, the prison yard is the name of it.
Starting point is 00:48:46 Nice. And like you got to like. A lot of times people come out of prison jacked. Right. So maybe that's a good branding. So that's like just in a parking lot. Right. And there's like.
Starting point is 00:48:54 Oh, there's a chainling fence. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's all outdoors. Yeah. Well, I've got to lean into the bit. Yeah. So you like burn out there. And then like people.
Starting point is 00:49:02 And they don't let you out until you lose weight. Right. And then they just punch you in the face as you're leaving. Like lose 20 pounds or you stay. Yeah. And every like 15th. time there, someone gets jumped. Someone gets jumped. So you got to be in shape. You got to be in shape.
Starting point is 00:49:16 So just pretty much all the tenets of prison. Yeah, yeah. And then you can't. And they don't let you leave. But you pay. You pay monthly to be there. Yeah. Yeah, in cigarettes. Try getting out of that subscription. Impossible. Impossible. Okay. So if he's healthy, which we'll have better clarity as we get closer to the season, it is worth remembering how good He has been on the field for fantasy football. He's been a dominator. Even though it is a product of a system,
Starting point is 00:49:48 you know, he's not just your prototypical great Justin Jefferson. What an amazing wide receiver. He has been great for fantasy. Yeah, the wild thing is just like, I know Cyrus Allen is getting like a week and a half of pub as a rookie. Yeah. But the thing about the chiefs is that the reason that they can stick a little bit is you look at the receiver room and you're like,
Starting point is 00:50:09 put these guys in order. Like Rashi's obviously at the top. Then you're taught. Is you Thornton? I mean, or there's room for a player like Cyrus Allen to come in and have an impact. If you're tied in to 37 and your starting wide receiver is coming out of jail slash injury, there is room.
Starting point is 00:50:27 And so if Rashi is healthy, there should be target share. They really are going in on Mahomes. Like they like all the improvements of the team were just, We're like, we're going to make our defense the best our defense can possibly be. Like, well, what about an offensive weapon? Cannaz Walker, baby. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:47 I'm sure I'm higher than you on him. That's all I know. That is not possible. We're checking that. We're checking that. There is no weight. I'm pretty sure. I have them at two.
Starting point is 00:50:57 No, I'm just kidding. You win. You win. I got them at eight, Mike. Where do you have them? Six. Okay, we did it. Malik neighbors at 12 guys.
Starting point is 00:51:04 I was going to say I'll eat my hat, but then I got worried about eating my hat. Right. You might have had to. Malik Neighbors. Mike, you're the highest on the league. Yeah, yeah, there we go. I am not as convinced as you. The man coming off a destroyed knee.
Starting point is 00:51:17 I feel like we spent months and months and months talking about how it might be a slow start for Malik Neighbors. And then you guys saw like one or out and both jacked them up your rankings. I am slower to come around on Malik Neighbors because I think, you know, these rankings are based on total season stats. The reports out of Giants camp is the offense has not looked good. We did get a report this morning maybe worth mentioning Malikis. Alikeye Fields, maybe in play for the wide receiver two spot. But, you know, this is going to be an offense where Jackson Dart is going to have to adjust to being under center more. I don't know if it's going to play to his strengths as much, but I'm also the lowest, I think,
Starting point is 00:51:54 on Jackson Dart of the three of us. So we all know the potential of Malik neighbors is Jemar Chase levels. So you guys might think 11 and 12 is tempering your expectations. It is. It very much is. I think he gets off to a slow start statistically. Thankfully, the matchups in the beginning of the year, three of his first four weeks is Dallas, Tennessee, and Arizona. So, you know, you might be able to just find a broken piece of coverage and house something while you're trying to get to your true explosive self. But yeah, I mean, this is a guy where I think if he wasn't coming off of an ACL, he'd be top five. You'd be picking him at the top five of the position. He's easily a first round wide receiver.
Starting point is 00:52:34 Yeah. So just a couple guys that like Matt Nagy over here. That is my So I love Kyle. Kyle's saying even the beat reporters are poo-pooing Matt Nagy.
Starting point is 00:52:44 The Giants offensive reports I wonder why. He sucks. I want to be so in on Jackson Dart. I want to like You are moving. Matt Nagy is the reason. If anything Cliff Kingsbury.
Starting point is 00:52:57 Oh, dude. Matt Nagy is he is not good at his very high-paying job. Well, don't worry. Jackson Dart and the Giants' offense has scuffled early, but John Harbaugh isn't worried. Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:12 And he's, because of the speeches, he's going to give to get him motivated. Dude. And he. The Harbaas are having a tough off season, by the way. Between the. With the talking? With the talking with the mouths. Between the uninspiring speech by John and the incompetent answer by Jim.
Starting point is 00:53:29 It's not incompetent. It was. It was. I left my, like, my phone flashlight on. I don't know where. I am. It was a full brain reset. You know, if you haven't seen it, look for the clip between him and Colin Cowler. Did you hear like the windows sound? Yeah, it was, it was, yeah, for sure. It was like in the middle of talking about how things evolve. He's like,
Starting point is 00:53:57 how things evolve. Evolvement? Is evolve a word? Is evolvement a word? We were there with the word many. Colin Coward's face was so funny. Yeah, he didn't. didn't know what to do, but anyways. Matt Nagy sucks. Let's not bury the lead here. Matt Nagy is the worst. I just love you are exactly where I was like a couple months ago of just in the anger stage. It's so of the hiring that he gets a job. Because I was so, my chips were all in on, on dart and the offense of the giants. And then they bring Matt Nagy in. It really brings it down.
Starting point is 00:54:31 We got the worst season from Lamar in a while last year, even in his healthy games under Harbaugh, with an offensive coordinator we like. I do have my fears. This is a tough division to play in. I know that they're the surprise team. Everybody wants to believe in. I just think I want my eyeballs to see it a little bit. And there's so many great wide receivers to take.
Starting point is 00:54:54 Sure. Like the reason Jason traded from Elite Neighbors in League of Record wasn't for this year. Now, maybe he gets this year. But I think there are a couple teams that I think are a year out. I'm in that camp with the Saints. you guys are all in this year. I think I'm a year away from that. I'm a year away from the Giants being that team. Yeah, because they'll have a new OC.
Starting point is 00:55:12 I think they will have a new OC. Which means that they will struggle this year. The thing for neighbors that I'm okay with is the price is right now on Sleeper, he's going in the beginning of the fourth. We did our mock draft. It's just not a true thing. Well, we did our mock draft yesterday and I got him halfway through the third. and it's if you know that Malik Neighbors is a target.
Starting point is 00:55:38 You know, I started running back, running back. So I knew that that was taken care of. And then I can take Malik Neighbors and I can have enough guys at the wide receiver position to overcome and let it happen. Maybe you don't even play Malik Neighbors Week 1. That sounds crazy for a third or fourth round pick. But I think that over the course of the second half of the year,
Starting point is 00:56:00 if you can tread the water, then things become great. Most people are like, you know what I'm going to do with Malik? I'm going to let someone else draft him, and then when they're really struggling, I'm going to go trade for neighbors. I'm sure there's plenty of leagues that will work in. But I think there's also plenty of leagues that you'll get Malik,
Starting point is 00:56:21 and then by the end of the year, you have a first round talent, fantasy football pick that really takes your team to the next. next level. Chris Olavay at 11. The last name we're going to talk about today, guys, got paid this offseason, Jordan Tyson, Tyler Shuck, Travis A. Chan, Jr., Juan Johnson and company, Kellan Moore, trying to get this offense on track after a disappointing year that saw a mix of Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shuck on the back half of it. But throughout the entirety of the year, Chris Alave was a monster.
Starting point is 00:56:53 And talk about, you know, the Flowers touchdowns. Here's touchdowns for Chris Lave, four, five, one. Nine. Yeah, but you didn't have Lamar throwing it to him for those. But I'm saying, like, touchdowns, like, but I said, the thing with, with Lamar is the variable was the offense changed, and McBride was the quarterback changed. A one change comes in, and you're like, oh, that player is a thousand-yard receiver, he should have more touchdowns.
Starting point is 00:57:21 And Crystal Lave got him last year. Well, let me ask you this real quick, because we talked about these guys, same draft class, same age. OLAVe, Garrett-Welson, and Dynasty, where are you with that question? I, oh, man, that's really tough. I think I'm on the Garrett-Wilson side solely and only, again, it is the concussion thing. I'm all the way on the Olave side now. I think OLAV is a better player.
Starting point is 00:57:44 I think the quarterback is a better player. Again, it is just a concussion worry for me. As someone who's had them on my roster and felt at times like- I thought you meant you had concussions. Oh, for sure. Yeah, for sure in my past. Falling and falling off of the swing set? Just falling down.
Starting point is 00:57:59 Monkey bars, maybe? Dude, I crush monkey bars. Don't you worry about that? Oh, you don't want me to bring that up, Mike? Oh, you can... I want to know what the public thinks. You can bring it up. I want you to post a poll right now.
Starting point is 00:58:09 We have more adducers in the office, though. We can talk to now. I'll post a poll, but I think I could do monkey bars. Like, from one side to the other, like, no problem. I can swing across a monkey bar set and be done. Are you confident in your monkey bar capabilities? I'm confident that I could not do that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:58:25 I don't understand. So Al realizes he can't. This has been a debate. This is a man who's been humbled by the monkey bars. Jason is so confident. You're as confident in the monkey bars as landing a 747. Yeah, with someone in my ear, but yes, I could do either. We can even do radio in the ear on the monkey bars.
Starting point is 00:58:45 You won't be able to do it. Now swing to the lift. It's not just upper body. It's also a grip strength. Matt, you are the size of a child. Of course they're easy for you. You're in your 20s. When's the last time you?
Starting point is 00:58:56 did monkey bars, Matt? It's been a while, but I'm pretty confident I could do them. Well, Josh, what do you think about that? I think Matt could probably do it. Jason, no way. You're right. There is no way I couldn't do it. You are correct.
Starting point is 00:59:12 There are different challenges we can put on the internet, and this is one of them. Yeah, well, I'd crush them. Anyways, back to OLAV. Like, physically. I just pull them down. I get on the monkey bars. They just start sinking into the sand. Is this quicksand or what?
Starting point is 00:59:35 You're just standing. This is so easy. Yeah, just walking across the sand. What did you write down on your board there? Okay, what I wrote down was, so Alave had a great season. Alave finished as the wide receiver six on the course of the season, and he was good both with Rattler and with Shuck. However, he was significantly better with Shuck. Here's the splits.
Starting point is 00:59:57 With Rattler, he was on pace for 110 receptions, a thousand yards, and six touchdowns. That's good. That's pretty not good. That's 11. That's 11.5 fantasy points. But once he got Shuck, and keep in mind, this was rookie Shuck, who started slow, the course of all of the starts with Shuck, he would have had a 17-game pace of 102 receptions, 1,400 yards, and 12.8 touchdowns. 15.8 fantasy points. That's easily top five fantasy wide receiver and half point.
Starting point is 01:00:24 So it's exciting. to get that quarterback in tow, which is why, Andy, I don't blame you for saying you're significantly on the Olavis side in the dynasty. I don't think he's going to, you know, the target share is going to be different this year. You've got to remember last year. It was super juiced at the end. Well, it was, they traded Rashid Jihad. They're their only other target halfway through the year.
Starting point is 01:00:44 How dare you, Velae. Well, but then like I said, they got hurt. Like, Velae was actually becoming a thing there. So adding Jordan Tyson, you know, what you're hoped for is that he stays efficient, scoring touchdowns, the target share stays high, but you are going to need to spread the rock ground a little bit. And can Shuck be, you know, you got to figure out if Shuck is in the 3,500 or the 4,500 yard category
Starting point is 01:01:08 because that makes a huge difference on supporting two wide receivers. Burrow can do it because, you know, this is what you just brought up with Caleb Williams. It's like if Caleb Williams, you just said, if he throws for under 4,000, you're going to have a problem with the Odunzee Burden Loveland combination. I am more confident that Shuck has more passing yards than Caleb this year. As are the books.
Starting point is 01:01:30 Yeah, I mean the books projected that way in Vegas. And it makes sense with the defense, the pace of play, the running game for both teams. I think that the passing volume will be larger. Last year, the usage splits, the target percentages were the same 30% the first eight weeks, 30% the last. That's what I was going to ask. Does Olave, with the addition of a top 10 NFL drafted wide receiver, does Olave stay at 30%. No, no, he does not. There's no way he's going to have.
Starting point is 01:01:59 With Jordan Tyson on the field, I can't put him at a 30% target share. I have him at a 24.5% target share this year. That's a major dip. It is a major dip, but that's still 140 targets. There's going to be a lot of volume on this team. They also didn't have a running game, and they tried to bring that in this offseason with the signing of Travis H.N. Jr. Well, I don't know if they have a running game still. Well, it's a huge investment by the team.
Starting point is 01:02:22 It is. In saying we want to balance this offense out a little bit. So we'll see what happens. But we're going to count down the top 10 running backs or sorry, wide receivers. On the Monday show, we'll move into running back rankings. Find out who Mike actually likes. Yes. I think maybe I just don't like anyone.
Starting point is 01:02:40 I think you're the lowest on all players. That was funny. That was good. All right, we'll be back. It's just not possible. I don't know how it happened. No. But as I said,
Starting point is 01:02:50 safe flowers for the win, guys. Goodbye. Thank you for listening to another episode of the Fantasy Footballers podcast. Join our fantasy football community on Jointhefoot.com. And follow us on Twitter at the FF ballers.
