Starting point is 00:01:06 podcast. Hi, I'm Sam Mullins, and I've got a new podcast coming out called Go Boy, the gritty true story of how one man fought his way out of some of the darkest places imaginable. Roger Caron was 16 when first convicted. Has spent 24 of those years in jail. But when Roger Caron picked up a pen and paper, he went from an ex-con to a literary darling. From Campside Media and iHeart podcasts,
Starting point is 00:01:34 listen to Go Boy on the iHeart radio app, Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. My name is Brendan Patrick Hughes, host of Divine Intervention. This is a story about radical nuns in combat boots and wild haired priests trading blows with J. Edgar Hoover in a hell-bent effort to sabotage a war. J. Edgar Hoover was furious. He was out of his mind and he wanted to bring the Catholic left to its knees. Listen to Divine Intervention on the iHeartRadio app,
Starting point is 00:02:08 Apple podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's time. To catch a cheater. Only on the Jubal Show. Lori is on the phone today for To Catch a Cheater, and she thinks that her boyfriend of three years named Greg might be messing around, so talk to her right now and see if we can figure it out and then see if we can catch
Starting point is 00:02:27 him if he is. Hopefully he's not though. But Lori, what's going on? Why do you think Greg's cheating? I think he might've slipped up last week. Okay. Um, we were both getting ready for like a flight out, um, for a quick week, quick weekend thing.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Um, we both travel a lot. I was making sure that, that Greg had his boarding pass on his phone because he has forgotten in the past. And I surprisingly did have his boarding pass, but then like this notification popped up on his phone. And it was a message from a girl named Rachel with like an attachment. I didn't get to see the picture or whatever it was, because as soon as it popped up, like Greg, you know, he just grabbed his phone back not like cause he saw it, but like that's
Starting point is 00:03:07 when he grabbed his phone back. So for time he, yeah. Yeah. Do you know Rachel that would text him? I can't think of any Rachel's that we know. No. When he grabbed his phone back, did he look at that picture right away? No.
Starting point is 00:03:22 I mean, you know how like, I mean, my phone does this to where it'll like pop up and then it goes away. He didn't really like, he didn't really like seem to, you know, do anything. I don't know. I was too nervous to ask. So I just mentioned to him like, oh, hey, it looks like you got a message and he said he would check it later. He said it was probably nothing.
Starting point is 00:03:41 So like I said, like with the boarding pass and all this that stuff like he's pretty absent minded and he's a really liar. Like I'm I'm nervous to confront him. Like is there anything else going on or was it just that text message that makes you think something might be happening? Yeah I mean I I guess it like I feel like maybe he's been a little distant I I don't know Like I said, we both travel a lot for work But you know, we try to get together when we get away together when we can, you know Mm-hmm. Like I said, he's just he's a very absent minded professor type person. Like I'm I'm very Type a I'm super punctual. I'm like always
Starting point is 00:04:24 Ready of everything I need, you know, and, and like, he tends to forget things. Sometimes he shows up late or I feel like he maybe he's been on his phone more. Okay. Okay. So it seems distracted a little bit kind of hiding it from you. Um, maybe I don't, I don't know. I mean, you know, now that I'm thinking about it, like he has been getting more texts lately and you know, there's a reason I called you like just all these
Starting point is 00:04:53 things together and that message, like it's just not adding up for me and I just, I just want to know what's going on. Okay. Yeah. Well, we'll play a song, come back, and then do the usual, call him, and pretend to be from the grocery store that he's a rewards member at, and say that he's this month's lucky winner of free flowers delivered from our floral department,
Starting point is 00:05:15 and we'll see if he sends those to you or to somebody else, okay? Okay. Okay. We'll get your to-catch-a-cheater next. Are your ears bored? Yeah. Are you looking for a new podcast
Starting point is 00:05:25 that will make you laugh, learn, and say, que? Yeah. Then tune in to Locatora Radio, season 10 today. OK. I'm Diossa. I'm Mala. The host of Locatora Radio, a radio-phonic novella.
Starting point is 00:05:40 Which is just a very extra way of saying a podcast. We're launching this season with a mini series, Totally Nostalgic, a four-part series about the Latinos who shaped pop culture in the early 2000s. It's Lala checking in with all things Y2K 2000s. My favorite memory, honestly, was us having our own media platforms like Mundo's and MTV 3. You could turn on the TV, you see Talia, you see JLo, Nina Sky, Evie Queen, all the girlies doing their things, all of the beauty reflected right back at us. It was everything. Tune in to Locatora Radio Season 10. Now that's what I call a podcast. Listen to

Listen to The Set Up as part of the MyCultura Podcast Network available on the iHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. My name is Brendan Patrick Hughes, host of Divine Intervention. This is a story about radical nuns in combat boots and wild-haired priests trading blows with J. Edgar Hoover in a hell-bent effort to sabotage a war. J. Edgar Hoover was furious somebody violated the FBI,
Starting point is 00:08:49 and he wanted to bring the Catholic left to its knees. The FBI went around to all their neighbors and said to them, do you think these people are good Americans? It's got heists, tragedy, a trial of the century, and the god-damnedest love story you've ever heard. Listen to Divine Intervention on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's time to catch a cheater. Only on the Jubel Show.
Starting point is 00:09:35 Right in the middle of To Catch a Cheater, and if you're just joining us, Lori is on the phone and she thinks that her boyfriend of three years, Greg, might be cheating. So we're about to call him and pretend to be from the grocery store that he's a rewards card member at and say that he's won free flowers delivered from our floral department.
Starting point is 00:09:49 And we'll see if he sends those to his girlfriend, Lori, or to somebody else. But before we do that, Lori, why don't you break down your situation one more time for us real quick? Yeah, Greg and I have been together for like three years. We both travel a lot for work. And recently we were about to leave on a trip
Starting point is 00:10:04 and he got a message from someone named Rachel who I don't know any Rachel. Um, and uh, it looked like there was an attachment. Um, he's been a little more distant lately getting more texts. So I just, I'm, I'm curious. I'm kind of nervous that there's something going on. What's in the picture? That's what I want to know. What kind of attachment?
Starting point is 00:10:28 Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I just feel like there's something going on and I got to find out. Okay. Well, are you ready for us to call him? Yeah, let's do it. Okay, here we go. Hello? Hey, this is Corbett calling from ****. I was looking for our rewards card member named Greg ****. Yeah, this is Greg. Hi, Greg.
Starting point is 00:10:59 Please don't hang up. This is not a marketing phone call. I'm actually calling with some great news. Congratulations. You're this month's big winner. Yay. Yay. What, what did I win? Every single month we choose one lucky rewards card member to give a free gift to. And this month you've won 36 long stem red roses, a box of candy or chocolate and a car to be delivered to anybody that
Starting point is 00:11:20 you want from our floor apartment. Absolutely free. Really? No strings attached? I just, for free? No strings attached. It's our way of saying thank you for shopping and thank you for being such a loyal customer. Wow. That's great. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:36 Great. First thing I would need would be the first and the last name of the person and then we'll get if you want anything on a card and then get the address and you'll be good to go. Okay. Yeah. I think the best person let's let's send them to Rachel. Rachel. Yeah, Rachel. Gotcha. Okay. And anything you would like to put on a card to old Rachel?
Starting point is 00:11:59 Let's go. Appreciate you keeping all this under your hat. You're perfect, so stop worrying. Keeping it under your hat, you're perfect, so stop worrying. Gotcha. Yeah, that'd be perfect. Okay, great, I can definitely do that. And then I'll also let you know that your girlfriend Lori is on the phone listening to this. Yeah, who is Rachel?
Starting point is 00:12:24 Sorry, what? This is actually a radio show, it's called The Jubal Show. Yeah, who is Rachel? Wait, sorry what? This is actually a radio show. It's called the Jubal Show. Yeah, hi, I'm Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria. And I'm Jubal. And we do a segment called To Catch a Cheater where if you think your significant other
Starting point is 00:12:33 might be messing around, you see who they send flowers to. And Lori hit us up because she was wondering who Rachel is. We're all wondering who Rachel is now. Lori, wait, so this isn't the grocery store? No, it's not. Is this Laurie? No, not exactly a prank. Who is Rachel?
Starting point is 00:13:02 Is this Laurie? This is part of it, right? Is this, is this part of what it's, it's like one of those radio prank shows, right? No, your girlfriend, your girlfriend already thinks that you might be cheating on her. Yeah. Well, you just sent roses to a woman. I don't know. I think there's a, there's a big misunderstanding.
Starting point is 00:13:21 No, no, that's Laurie. I'm not cheating. Nothing is going on with Rachel. You don't have to worry about anything. It's fine. Why is she, why is she sending you, why is she air dropping you pictures or whatever? Why is she texting you? Okay. Great.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Who is Rachel? This isn't going to make very entertaining radio. I'm sorry to say, but Rachel's just an old co-worker. That's, that's all it is. Like, Laura, you met her at a holiday party a couple of years ago. Do you remember she had the pink hair? We were like making fun of her all night because because of her hairstyle. You remember that? It's not very nice. Okay. Wait, wait. So are you, you're cheating on me with the pink haired punk girl that had all the tattoos? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm not cheating.
Starting point is 00:14:08 No, she's trying to apply it to the company. She's trying to apply for a higher position. I'm trying to send her flowers, though. Yeah, it's just it's a good luck thing. She's been really nervous about interviewing and she's been kind of on edge. And text message would suffice. Good luck. Put her at ease.
Starting point is 00:14:28 Why is she sending you pictures? It's it's just outfits and I really I. Nothing to worry about. I swear, nothing like dresses. Laurie, I'll send you these pictures right now. I'll take these to you. It's nothing crazy. I swear, just like dresses. Lori, I'll send you these pictures right now. I'll take these to you. It's nothing crazy. I swear, just very professional dresses.
Starting point is 00:14:49 She wanted my opinion for some reason. You know, I'm not much of a fashionista myself. I'm not really sure why she even, I told her nice pants and a top would do well, and then she started sending me all these dress pictures. What the? Why is she sending you pictures of her outfit? I don't know.
Starting point is 00:15:06 She just wants advice. I'm telling you, that's all it is. I'm happy to send you all these pictures. I'll show her our whole chat history. Okay, I kind of believe you that you're not cheating, but she's hitting on you, you idiot. Like, you not notice this? It does feel that way. Why would she ask you for advice on clothes?
Starting point is 00:15:24 You said pants and a nice top. Like why is she asking you this rather than asking a female friend? Well you really think she was hitting on me? Yes, yes. No, even if she was trying to get in at the company you're working at, like she would just use you for the connection and not send you photos and text and everything else if she wasn't hitting on you. I never really thought about it that way. I just thought she was looking for advice. I mean, I really didn't think it was a big deal to be honest. Okay. So what would you do if I was sending photos of myself in a bunch of
Starting point is 00:15:58 dresses and going, Hey, is this okay? Is this okay? What do you think about this one to some other guy? Well, when you put it like that. Oh, the other day she, she asked me to send her a picture of what I was wearing in the office. I didn't think any of it. I didn't send her the picture, but oh man. She asked you to send a picture. Oh my God. Just, just like my workout.
Starting point is 00:16:28 That is so weird. Oh my God. Workout. It's the gateway drug. Now that this is all I really do think she was hitting on me. Lori, Lori, I'm really sorry. I didn't even think about it. I'm really sorry. I didn't even think about it. I should have known better. Fine. I you're still an idiot. And like Rachel should know that you have a girlfriend, because if she keeps this up, she's going to get another picture back. And it's it's not going to be pretty.
Starting point is 00:16:58 I get it. Yeah, I get it. I'm so sorry. Listen, Laurie, I'm texting her right now and I'll I'll tell her in all caps, stop hitting on me, you know, I'll just make it super clear. Typing in again and sent. There you go. All right. Well, there you go, Laurie. The Jubal shows to catch a cheater.
Starting point is 00:17:21 I'm ready to fight. Oh, this is fighting words. OK, I'll put the hammer back. Hi, I'm George M. Johnson, a bestselling author with the second most banned book in America.
