Brent is on the phone today for our first date follow-up
and he's getting ghosted by a woman
named Lola.
So in a few minutes, we'll call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and
maybe get him a second date if he still wants one.
But first Brent, how long has it been since you heard from Lola?
It's been five days since we were on the date.
Okay.
And how many times have you tried to reach out to her in those five days?
The first time was the next morning and then she never responded.
So two days later I followed up and didn't get anything back from her then either.
OK, she's definitely ghosting you.
Did you text, call, email?
I texted her.
Yeah, I texted her.
The first text I was just like, you know, I had a great time and I'd love to see you
again.
Let me know if you feel the same. So I'm trying to be pretty straightforward. Okay. Tell us about the date
The date was really fun
We went down to that little
Theater it was cool. We saw this artsy movie that you know, I didn't really understand but she seemed into it and
You know, we were just we had a good time. She was laughing at my jokes
She she brushed against my arm a couple times I thought we were vibing yeah I
even brought her flowers which I I don't really do that for dates but okay you
know she's really smart and hot and funny so yeah
Good job starting off with a smart on that.
Oh that's cute though.
Did you guys do anything else other than go to the movie?
Absolutely. We just walked around a little bit
towards the end. You know, I thought we were going to kiss.
We were kind of headed both in to do it, but then we knocked heads
and then she dropped her keys and then I've been down to help.
But she just kind of ran off.
Sounds like a long com.
We she ran off. Yeah, she long com. Wait, she ran off?
Like she sprinted or like?
It was pretty quick.
I was kind of, I didn't know if something would come up
or if I did something, you know?
Okay, so let's go through that.
So you knocked heads when you were about to kiss,
she dropped her keys and then just sprinted.
Yeah, yeah, I went down to help with keys and then yeah, she just kind of got up and I got to go.
So so she actually said, I.
Yeah, I think so. She was I mean, it was like so quick.
But yeah, she was kind of, yeah, it was just a quick goodbye.
I was, you know, sitting around like, what just happened?
That's not funny with the visual that I get from that looks very funny,
like her just taking off and sprinting away.
I'm so sorry that happened.
Where I had better a little too hard.
Maybe she was just dazed and she didn't know where she was.
How was the head?
Too bad.
Why do you think she would do that?
Well, I was thinking through it and I was like maybe
Maybe it was cuz earlier I said something, you know, I was like I like thick girls and which I mean is a compliment like she's
Okay, wait, but you I thought that could be it when did you say that I?
Think was kind of just earlier along I had a man like she looked amazing So I I didn't mean it in the wrong way at all
So okay, so you didn't say it right before you had butted her
I mean, yeah, that could be taken the wrong way, but she stayed with you on the date though
Yeah, and you tried to kiss her and she tried to kiss you so that I don't know
I don't think that's what it was. But that also is like, I don't know
I know a lot of girls would just stay on a date.
Yeah, just even if they're true, they decided an hour ago
they didn't like this person will just stay there
or even though going for a kiss just because they feel like they just want to get it over with.
Oh, let's move on.
Did her did her attitude change after you called her a thick, thick
pants? No,
I mean, it wasn't like that, but no, it like, it was, I think, you know, I think
I'm looking into it, you know, she didn't react too, too negatively or anything like
that so.
Alright, we'll see if we can figure it out for you.
We'll play a song, come back and then call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting
you and maybe get you a second date if you still want one, okay?
Awesome, thank you.
Alright, we'll get your first day follow up right after this.
Kelly Harnett spent over a decade in prison for a murder she says she didn't commit. I'm 100% innocent.
While behind bars, she learned the law from scratch.
He goes, oh God, H her and that jailhouse lawyer.
And as she fought for herself, she also became a lifeline
for the women locked up alongside her.
You're supposed to have faith in God,
but I had nothing but faith in her.
So many of these women had lived the same stories.
I said, were you a victim of domestic violence?
And she was like, yeah.
But maybe Kelly could change the ending.
I said, how many people have gotten
other incarcerated individuals out of here?
I'm going to be the first one to do that.
This is the story of Kelly Harnett, a woman who
spent 12 years fighting not just for her own freedom,
but her girlfriends too.
I think I have a mission from God
to save souls by getting people out of prison.

Right in the middle of your first date follow up and if you're just joining us Brent is on the phone and Brent is getting ghosted by Lola so we're about to call her and see
if she'll tell us the reason she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date but before
we do that Brent catch us up on your situation again real quick.
Yeah so five days ago we went on a nice date to the theater and saw a movie.
I thought everything was going well. We were vibing, brought her flowers and then towards
the end of the day we went in to kiss, we knocked heads a little bit, she dropped her keys and just
ran off. I'm not sure if she left because of that or if it was because of a comment
I said earlier that mentioned that you know I like thick girls and you know she's so.
Okay you ready for us to call her? Yes. Okay here we go man. Hello? Hi, may I speak to Lola please?
Speaking.
Hey Lola, how are you?
This is a radio show.
It's called the Jubal Show.
Hey, I'm Victoria.
I'm producer Brad.
What?
And I'm Jubal.
How are you?
Oh my God, I listen to you guys.
Oh, sweet.
Well, thank you.
Appreciate that.
Thanks.
How are you doing today?
I'm doing well.
Did I win something?
Oh. sweet. Well, thank you. Appreciate that. How are you doing today? I'm doing well.
Did I win something?
Oh, maybe.
If you listen to the show,
then you've probably heard a first day follow up before.
Yes.
Okay.
Well, we got an email about you
from somebody that you're ghosting.
Yeah.
Any idea who would email us?
I have a sense. I don't go on too many days. So
Yeah, I'm guessing it might be Brent. Yes. It's Brent
Brent emailed us. He told us that he really liked you. He thought the day was going great and he's confused
It's been about five days now and you haven't answered his texts or anything like that
So long time he wanted us to call you and ask if you could tell us why you're ghosting
him um yeah I I don't want to talk about it he was great it's it's not him it's
it's a 100% me so yeah can you give us kind of a hint if you don't want to talk about it? I mean the game was actually going very well.
I was nervous and you know he was very sweet.
So I had like a plan.
I think a plan that you know I feel like is not a foreign concept to a lot of women. I, you know, I wore certain undergarments,
certain, you know, protective undergarments,
period undergarments.
Oh, okay.
I was thinking just in case.
Thank you for clarifying.
Yeah, my mind was in a different place.
Yeah, so, okay.
So it was that time for you?
No, I wore them as a protective chastity belt measure.
So that nothing would happen if it went down.
Oh, okay.
That's a good idea.
Yeah, take things slow.
Take things appropriate.
Right.
That's a pretty smart idea.
Yeah, that's good. You don't trust yourself to do it on your own. You have a little backup there. That's a pretty smart idea. Yeah, that's good.
Don't trust yourself to do it on your own.
Yeah. Well, back up there.
It seems like he had potential.
So I wanted to like, you know, to do things right.
Yeah. Anyway, they're like, you know, they're large, they're
stained.
And whatever, at the end of the day, we were in the parking lot and I, and I dropped my
keys and I bent down to get my keys and my pants that I was wearing, my regular pants,
split right where you don't want them to split. The undergarments, the stained large undergarments were visible.
In addition to me ripping my pants.
Not a good look.
So anyway, I was absolutely mortifying and I was like, I gotta go.
So yeah, it was disgusting, it's awful.
But why ghost him though?
Because your pants were.
It was horrifying.
I didn't think I was ghosting him so much
as like doing him a favor to like not subject him
to like the horrors of like my ripped pants
and my like stained underpants.
So you're just embarrassed.
I mean, yeah, yeah.
Lola, I don't know if you remember this or not, since you've heard these before,
but Brent is on the phone and wants to talk to you.
Oh, no, I thought this was like the, like, get to know me.
Yeah. Brent is here.
I would not have guessed that was the reason you go to me ever.
Hey, hey, Lola.
Hey, Brent.
Yay.
Hi.
By the way, I didn't see anything when you ran.
I had no idea.
I thought you were mad at me.
So that's hilarious.
Yeah.
How could you not see you really didn't see?
No, I think I was just like in shock a little bit about how quickly you're running off.
And after kind of knocking your head, I was just hoping you were OK, to be honest.
It's concussed and runs like the nearest hospital.
Oh, my God.
So I've been in like imaginary shame for five days.
I this is like the weirdest thing that has ever happened to be on a date.
I have to say most ridiculous.
No, that's that's you don't have to be embarrassed about anything.
I like you stains and all.
I think that's sweet hey Lola would you like to go
on another date with Brett we'll pay for it I would I would love to absolutely and
I will I will wear a boot fitting skirt and you know and proper attire this time.
Yeah, let's make a big different undergarment choice.
Yeah. Yeah.
Hey, you can wear whatever undergarments you want.
I'm just happy you said yes.
That's cute.
But she can't, don't do that again.
Oh.
