Each episode, we pick a year, unpack what went down, and try to make sense of how we survived it with our friends, fellow comedians, and favorite authors. Like Mark Lamont Hill on the 80s. 84 was a wild year. I mean, it was a wild year. I don't think there's a more important year for black people.
Starting point is 00:01:02 Listen to look back at it on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In 2023, Bachelor star Clayton Eckerd was accused of fathering twins. Starting point is 00:01:58 He is not going to get away with this. He's going to get what he deserves. We always say that trust your girlfriends. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. You know where I can find some booty? Jubles Call of Booty.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Lucy is on the phone today for Call of Booty, and she's going to attempt to call her husband of seven years and see if he'll leave his job to meet her for a collie booty. But remember, it's family friendly. She can't say anything dirty or be blatant at all. We'll give her a theme to use as code for what she wants to do. And it's always hilarious to see what people come up with and to see if they can actually do it. So we'll give her the theme for that in just a second.
Starting point is 00:02:53 But first, Lucy, you want to call your husband? What does he do for work? Hi, yes. Charlie works as a middle school principal. Oh. Oh. Oh. That's not already awkward enough.
Starting point is 00:03:07 He takes his job very seriously also, so I think it's going to be fun. I don't know what he's going to do. I feel like you have to be a patient person for that. Yeah. I mean, thankfully he doesn't really bring his work home with him, but I mean, and it's like, you know, kind of sexy principal, teacher fantasies. Oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:30 It could maybe work. We'll see. I haven't ever tried to get him to do this before. No, okay. No. This will be the first time you're ever calling your husband of seven years, who's a middle school teacher, to see if he'll leave work and meet you for a call of booty.
Starting point is 00:03:46 Yes, like I said, he's a little uptight about work, just about work. And so I've never attempted this before. I think there's like a chance he might get a little bit embarrassed. He's just a very, just very proper and professional. when he works. Okay. And so you said principal, right? So he's like the boss and like organizing everything?
Starting point is 00:04:09 Yes. Yeah, but I mean he's the boss. So he should be able to leave, right? Yeah, yeah. At least that's good. At least he doesn't have to ask his boss for permission to leave. Yeah. Does he leave his job ever or is he usually like, can he leave just to come meet you
Starting point is 00:04:23 if you say come home for an hour? I mean, I think he could. Like he's left in the past like for, you know, if his car needed or, prepared and he wanted to go pick it up. He'll like sneak a little errand in during the day. I've heard him do that like maybe once or twice in all of the years he's been working. So I mean, I just think of this like meeting in a little errand. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Come see me. Well, you're about to call him and see if he'll leave work for a call of booty. You guys have been married seven years. You've never done this before. And remember, you can't say anything dirty or be blatant about what you want to do. We give you a theme to use and you have to try to use that as, code to get him to understand what you're talking about and then see if he'll leave work. And the theme for today's call of booty is gambling terms.
Starting point is 00:05:12 Snake eyes. Oh, no. Oh, that's really hard. That's a tough one. Oh, my God. What are some gambling terms off the top of your head? Oh, lucky strike. That's not even a gambling.
Starting point is 00:05:28 We're going to have to practice. Lucy is on the phone. And she's about to make the very awkward call to her husband of seven years named Charlie, who's a middle school principal on the job right now. Amazing. She said he's very buttoned up and professional while he's at work. But she's got to try to convince him to leave for a call of booty. And remember, it's not dirty at all.
Starting point is 00:05:48 Can't say anything blatant or just tell him straight up what she wants to do. We gave her a theme to use to see if she can get him to understand what she wants to do and see if he'll actually leave his job to meet her. But she can only use gambling terms. great to see if she can get her husband to leave work. All right, Lucy, have you looked up some gambling terms? Yep, I did a little Google. I think I'm as ready as I'm going to be.
Starting point is 00:06:14 Okay. And we'll jump in to save you if you need it, all right? You ready? Yeah. Here we go. I'm dialing his phone number right now. Good luck. On a hot streak and mama needs a new pair of shoes.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Honey? Yeah, it is. Hit me. Whoa, right in. Hang on, let me step out of this audit. Audit. Babe, babe, how's the work? How's the work, babe?
Starting point is 00:06:59 It's okay. One of my students tell me that he doesn't think he should be given homework because it's brain rot, and every time he turns it in, dog water. It makes him feel like he's a lost aura. I'm not sure what that means, but I'm a little worried about the future. That way.
Starting point is 00:07:22 Well, that sounds like a stressful day. Maybe you should come home and we can go all in. Yatsi. You want to play Yotsie? Is that gambling? Oh, no, baby. I want to go all in on something with way higher stakes. Maybe even double down and turn that poker face into a different kind of face.
Starting point is 00:07:58 You want to play poker in the middle of the afternoon? Oh, face. Oh, face. Get it. Oh. You're not talking about literally playing games, are you? Just called my bluff. Yeah, you can leave work and come home for like an hour
Starting point is 00:08:22 and bring your big stack of chips so I can deal you in. Whoa. Well played. Lucy Marie. You and I need to have a talk. You know that gambling on school property is not allowed. What? What?
Starting point is 00:08:46 I get what you're doing, baby. I'm game. But, and we do not allow gambling on the premises here. That's a bad girl, Lucy. Very, very bad of you. Oh, God. Babe. Babe.
Starting point is 00:09:03 You watch your mouth, Missy. I'm on school property. The name is Mr. Fripp to you, and you know better than to be rolling at dice in my hallways, okay? No, no, no, babe. Please stop. Oh, is that the roleplay? Oh, that's it? You just earned yourself detention, little lady, okay?
Starting point is 00:09:22 You need to come see me in my office for a spanking. Oh, we're bringing back spanking. Oh, God. How did I do? Was that kind of hot or the spanking thing a little too far? Hey, Charlie. Charlie, hi, how are you? This is a radio show.
Starting point is 00:09:45 It's called The Jubal Show. Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria. My name is Jubal. What's that? Oh, my God. What the hell? And we do a segment on the show.
Starting point is 00:09:56 It's called Call of Booty where if you want to try to get your significant other to leave the job to meet you for a call of booty. But we give you a theme to use. So Lucy was trying to call to see if she could get you to leave work to meet her, you know, for what. And she can only do it using gambling terms. but I don't know what just happened. I'm very confused. You're not the only one. I was confused, but then I started getting a little excited because, you know, it's been
Starting point is 00:10:23 a while since we've done the whole bad student, you know, scenario with the angry, angry principles. Okay, okay, babe, I don't think they need to know any of that. Oh, we like me. Yeah, we do. It's cool. Oh, wow. Okay, I got to go, but Lucy me were a hibing. I will be seeing you later after school.
Starting point is 00:10:45 In detention? Oh. Oh, he hung up. I guess you had to go. That's it. My goodness. You guys are cute. Oh, that does not go how I thought it was.
