Man it was messed up Are you sure it wasn't a hickey Well I had something Recently pierced When I went paintballing For the first sure you did. Man, it was messed up. You sure it wasn't a hickey? Well, I had something recently pierced when I went paintballing for the first time that was on my chest, and I'm not even crapping, you guys. Like, it was right.

It hit me right there. I'm like, ah! Like, literally, I'm like, no way. Carl, before we get into your date and how everything went, how are you? I'm alright. I'm sort of trying to figure out what happened here. I wish I could get a text back, but other than that, I'm okay. Well, how long has it been since your date with Ruby?

It's been about a week. About a week. And how many times have you tried to hit her up? I texted her once. I'm trying not to be that kind of guy who stalks someone with text, so I thought she replied with a one, but she hasn't. Just one? Like if I do it a few times without her, it kind of gets weird, you know?

Yeah, for sure. I agree with the one text rule as well. If they haven't responded after one, they saw it. Like they just chose not to respond. Yeah, but sometimes like I read it and I forget, you know, especially if they're hustling. Oh, really? You know. I'll forget a lot.

You know, I'll mean to text someone back if they text me. And if they don't text me again, then I might not know because I do forget, you know, and I think people could. So I think twice, three at the most, you're okay. So you only did one text. Yeah, maybe I should just text again. Well, I mean, you could just text again, but then we wouldn't be able to do the segment and we really need some content for right now. Well, she obviously didn't text back. Yeah.

I mean, no matter what, if she was into you, she would probably reach out to you, right? To be fair, it did say red, so she's on it. Oh, she just left you on red. That's even worse. She left you on red. That is bad. All right, well, what do you think went happen?

Tell us about the date. What do you think happened? What did you do wrong? I mean, I thought it was pretty fun for the most part. I did accidentally mistake her for the enemy and shoot her in the leg. Yeah, actually

I was going for her head, but I'm a really bad shot. Thank God I just got her in the leg. Okay, well. Did she get mad at you? Well, I ran over real quick and apologized. I felt too upset actually. You're going paintball. I felt too upset, actually. Okay, yeah.

Yeah, I wouldn't think so. You're going paintball. Yeah, you're expected to get hit. Yeah, like she would be an a-hole if she got mad being hit with a paintball playing paintball. You don't want to get hit by your friend, though. Well, the person you're on a date with. That's like taking the basketball and going down to the wrong side of the court.

Yeah, I mean, I would get mad at you for shooting me when I'm on your team and maybe we lose the game, but not for getting shot with a paintball. You should expect that. So that would surprise me. How did everything, was that the whole date, paintballing? Pretty much.

And she was kind of like, I don't know, quiet when we were leaving. And I went in for it. She wasn't really feeling it, but she did kiss me on the cheek. Okay. I mean, you still got a kiss on the cheek. That's no bad. Yeah, I thought it was something. She could have like pushed away, you know? I mean, you still got a kiss on the cheek. That's not bad. no, we didn't, but I asked her out again in that one text and I haven't heard back. Yeah, we know how the text went. So obviously she didn't agree to the second date. Yeah,

I guess that's pretty obvious that she didn't text me back. But honestly, guys, I'm just hoping you can help me out here because she was really cool, and I feel like it would be a real shame if we didn't get to see each other again. I felt like there was an actual spark, you know, and that doesn't happen all the time. All right, yeah.

This could be the one that got away. You tried to shoot her in the leg maker's day, but it didn't seem to work out. Yeah, she probably traumatized me. Yeah, I was like, what the whole time? All right. And so is that the only thing you can think of that the only reason

that you can think of that she wouldn't call you back because of shooting her in the leg at paintball? Yeah, I can't think of anything else. I mean, she seemed like she forgave me by the end of it. Everything seemed okay.

She just kind of got quiet and, you know, you know the rest of it. Okay. All right She just kind of got quiet and, you know, the rest of it. Okay. All right. And it's been a week since their date and he hasn't heard a thing. And he really wants to get a hold of her because he says he liked her a lot. He's only tried to hit her up one time. Yeah, he's only texted her once. I mean, that is not enough for sure. That's got to be a record. Yeah, that's a normal guy. The only thing that Carl can think of and the only reason Carl can think of that she would not call him back

is because he accidentally shot her in the leg with a paintball when they were playing on the same team. Other than that, Carl, you can't think of anything else? Nothing, guys. Seriously. I've been racking my brain. I have no idea. I mean, to me, that's a pretty big one.

He said he was aiming for her head as well, and it's just a bad shot. That's why she's not calling you back is because you're so bad at paintballing. Or because you were aiming for her head. I didn't tell her that. Or because you were aiming for her head. You didn't tell her that. You psycho. We're about to dial her phone right now and see if we can figure it out, okay? Here we go. And we called you today because somebody emailed us about you. About me? Yep. Any idea why somebody would email a radio show about you? I don't. I'm interested though. We do a segment on the show

called the First Date Follow-Up. It's where if you go out on a date with someone and then end up ghosting them, they can email us to get you on the phone and find out what happened. And you recently went out on a date with a guy named Carl. Oh no. Sounds like you remember.

And Carl emailed us and told us about your date. He also said that you're not calling him back and he's tried to text you just one time though and you haven't responded. So he's wondering what he did wrong. This is so embarrassing um yeah i know i'm every day i do this i'm embarrassed it's super embarrassing so why did you ghost him we just want to know why yeah we just yeah that's all we want to know why you're ghosting Carl. Okay. Did you not have fun? Do you not like to paintball?

Do you not like being shot in the leg by your own date? Well, no, I actually found it really fun. But I mean, it was fun and I didn't mind getting shot in the leg. It was fine. It was unexpected, but I forgave him, and it didn't hurt. It was kind of funny. It was fine. Okay. So what's the problem then?

What's wrong with Carl? She's stalling. Ruby, stop stalling. I'm sorry. I'll stop stalling. Okay. Well, the main thing is this is just between us like a one-on-one date and when we got there um he told me that I was his date for his friend's

birthday party and like he kind of just sprung it on me out of nowhere I was already there yeah oh really and he hadn't mentioned that at all, like in any conversation beforehand? No, I thought it was just going to be me and him. And like, I'm an introvert. So it kind of just like threw me off and it made me really nervous. So are we, all three of us are really introverted. And I would be like, what in the world? Yeah, I wouldn't want to be there.

I don't know if it would bug me. It probably wouldn't bother me. So not even say anything? Nah, it wouldn't bother me, I don't think. Really? So surprise. I'm an introverted person. Like I'm quiet, but I don't think really but I'm an introverted person like I'm quiet but I don't mind people right like so if I shut up and they're like hey it's my friend's birthday party I'd be like oh cool but I wouldn't be it wouldn't be the same though it is like being in a guy's position as it would being the woman in that I feel like it'd be different for you to

show up to a date and be like surprise it's my best friend's birthday party and all these people are here. Kind of like nerve-wracking. Oh, for sure. Yeah. Yeah, for a first date, I could see how that would be uncomfortable. Well, I'd just be upset because on a first date, you're trying to really get to know someone.

Now you have to worry about getting to know their friends too. There's a lot of pressure in that. Yeah. I mean, I guess I just wouldn't care about getting to know their friends, which is probably why people think I'm a little standoffish. So I'm like, I'm here with them. I want to learn about them, not you. I don't care. So, okay. So the, so you were, you just felt weird that he sort of sprung like a, like a birthday party thing on you. That was, it's kind of weird

to bring a first date to a function like that. So yeah, is that the reason why you're not calling him back or did something happen there? Um, no, I mean, that's just the reason I just felt, yeah, like I was kind of sprung on and, um,

when he texted me, I just decided not to reply. Okay. So you don't like having things sprung on you? Not particularly. Okay. Well then I shouldn't let you know that he's on the phone listening and wants to talk to you. Wait, what?

Yeah, wait, Carl's on the phone. Sorry. Oh no. Hi. Hi. Listen, Ruby, I'm so sorry I sprung that on you. I just, I kind of thought you wouldn't come if I told you. Yeah, I mean, it just, it would have been nice to know.

Yep, that is fair. I don't know, did you enjoy the date aside from that? I mean, aside from being shot and it being your friend's birthday party, I did have a good time. Okay, so would you like to go out again? I promise there will be no surprises this time. No.
