First date follow-up.
Anytime I've gone out
on a date and worn my bikini, there is
always a second date.
Always.
Is that how he burped you in, Alex?
He's been wanting to remind me.
And Dave is on the phone right now.
He says that he met a girl named Angela
on Instagram.
Probably slid into the old DMs there, Dave.
That's exactly what happened.
Good morning.
Good morning.
So Dave met a girl named Angela on Instagram
and he said that they went to the beach together,
but now he's not getting a call back.
And if you were wearing a very,
were you wearing a one- or a two piece, Dave?
It was just trunks.
Oh, well, of course,
that's why you're not getting a call back.
It looks like you put no effort into it.
I mean, you didn't even have a top to go with it.
You didn't want to bring your mankini?
She's like, of course I didn't want to go out with him before.
He showed up in just like regular swim trunks for a guy.
And I only date dudes in mankinis.
So tell us about your date. Was it good? I mean, she's obviously not calling you back,
but did it seem like it went fine? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, I think it went great.
We, you know, after the whole DM conversation, which was pretty straightforward,
we decided to meet up. We went to the beach. It was great.
So you guys decided to actually get in the water?
Yeah, there was a, yeah.
I'm sorry.
That sounded creepy the way I said that.
I didn't mean for it to sound like that.
So you guys tell me more about it.
You guys decided to get in the water.
You guys were soaking wet.
Yeah.
Super wet bait.
See, this is a bold move for someone in my position because being a redhead, like I could not go to the beach as a date.
SPF 100, you'll be golden.
You just burst into flames and then she'd have to call the EMTs to come get you.
Yeah.
So this, I mean, the bikini she had on, the whole thing that was going, I mean, I would just, I would listen.
I had a blast.
It sounds like it.
Can you think of anything that went wrong during your date?
No, I mean, okay. so I think it might be this.
I was a little bit, well, I'll just say it.
I was a little turned on, so I stayed in the water for a minute.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Wow.
And you think she noticed that?
I don't know.
I don't know, but it's embarrassing.
That's awkward.
Yeah, it would have to be pretty big to notice it from the water, I feel like.
Yeah, well, I mean, if you stand up out of the water and it's like, hello there.
It's just swim trunks.
Yeah, wow.
I was kind of crouched in the water awkwardly.
Hopefully she didn't notice, but if that made her feel weird,
then maybe that's why.
But the rest of the date went amazing.
Maybe she thought you were staying there
because you were like peeing.
Yeah.
Although it's impossible to pee
when you're in that state as a man.
I don't know what she knows.
Very painful.
Peter Piper.
Yeah, so maybe she,
Alex is right,
maybe she just thought you were hanging out
in the water longer
because you had to pee or something.
That would be less embarrassing.
Yeah, I mean, I would think if the rest of the date went good, she probably didn't notice what was going on with you.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm hoping. I mean, there was kind of a weird vibe at the end of the date, but it wasn't like a bad thing. I don't know. Maybe it was just nerves or something. Yeah, it doesn't sound bad to me.
But how did the date end after the beach?
Did you go drop her off at home or did you guys do something else?
We actually met at the beach just because of work schedules.
So she got in her car, I got in mine.
But before that, I did go in for a kiss.
If I were you, I wouldn't do that in public based on how you respond to things like that.
You know what?
I did get the cheek instead.
That's a killer.
Well, maybe it's COVID times. Maybe she's
scared of getting coronavirus.
Maybe. Which I'm surprised that
people are going in for a kiss right now.
Oh yeah, was it Moscow or Moscow?
No, we had had the masks off for a little while.
Oh, you rebels.
So you went in for the kiss.
And did she turn her head to give you her cheek like,
God, don't kiss me.
It was this awkward hug kiss thing.
So it's very possible that it would just happen to be her cheek.
I'm hoping.
Yeah.
That's the worst when that
happens on a date at the end of it when the kiss like that awkward moment and then the kiss goes
awkward and then talking after the kiss goes awkward needless to say i've been there a lot
of times in my life well at least you don't have to do it anymore that's true so did you guys make
plans to go out later or did she you know say hey text me and we can go out later or did she, you know, say, hey, text me and we can go out later?
Or did she just leave?
Yeah, no.
So I said, hey, I'll DM you.
And she said, cool.
That sounds good.
As she got in her car and she didn't really peel off, but she didn't take her time.
And did you message her?
I did.
I have a rule.
I don't want to message more than three times without a response.
So I just keep going back
to the DMs, staring at my third message.
Wanting to...
You want to say something else, though, don't you?
Yeah, of course. So bad.
What the hell? Let's talk.
It's bad, too, because it's supposed to be double text
is like the limit. So three texts is...
You've gone far. And then you see that they've seen it
and they still aren't responding.
Okay, so I will say that she's seen the first two.
Oh,
she's not seen the third one.
Oh,
so you're saying this a chance.
Definitely been there before.
So if like a guy keeps hitting me up and I am interested to see what he said,
but not interested in him.
And then he keeps messaging.
I just stop opening it.
And then,
and then I'm just like,
I know he has nothing good to say and I'm not interested in him.
So I'm just going to leave that right there.
So she looked at the last two, but not the third one, which means she might be over you.
We should find out why.
Yeah, that's what we're going to do.
Thanks for the setup there, Alex.
Appreciate that.
All right.
We're going to play a song, come back and call her and get your first date follow.
Okay.
Yeah.
I'm as nervous as hell judging by Alex's reaction.
Me too. First date follow-up, okay? Yeah. I'm nervous as hell judging by Alex's reaction. Yeah. Me too.
First date follow-up.
We're in the middle of a first date follow-up and Dave is on the phone and if you heard
the first part of your first date follow-up
then you know that Dave is a guy who should not
be allowed to wear shorts ever in public.
He met a girl named Angela.
They met on Instagram. They actually
went to the beach to hang out.
And then he got excited to be there.
Just a little.
Just a little bit excited.
And when she got out of the water for a while, he had to stay in there for a few minutes to sort of become not as excited anymore.
Take it down.
Yeah.
And he thinks that maybe she saw that because she's not calling him back.
Other than that, he said the date went great.
At the end of the date, he went in for a kiss. He got the cheek, an awkward hug, and he's messaged her a few
times, but she hasn't responded to anything. And hopefully in the time from when we talked to you
before to right now, you haven't messaged her again, right Dave? No, I did check and she still
hasn't. So he's messaged her like three times. She's looked at two of them and then not looked
at the other one. So she's definitely something's definitely wrong.
Yeah. So I'm going to dial her phone number right
now, Dave, unless you're having second thoughts
or anything. No, go ahead. Let's do it.
Okay, here we go.
Hello? Hi, may I speak to Angela, please?
This is Angela. Hey, Angela,
how are you? This is Jubal from The Jubal Show.
From where?
The Jubal Show. It's a radio show. I'm your host. My name is Jubal Freyash.
And with me is my hottest wife, Alex Freyash.
Good morning.
And also our friend, English Evan.
Hello.
Hello.
Any idea why we might be calling you?
I have no clue why you're calling me.
Have you heard the show at all?
That's a no.
I'm going to take that as a no.
That's fine.
We're a new show.
But anyway, we do a segment on our show called The First Date Follow-Up.
What that is is if you go out on a date with someone and then ghost them,
they can email us to give you a call and find out what happened.
And you recently went out with a dude named Dave.
Yes, I did.
Okay.
So Dave sent us an email because he told us all about your date.
He said how, you know, not, there's not a whole lot to do right now because of COVID.
So you guys went out to the beach and hung out.
He thought you had a great time, but now not only are you not responding to him, you've
looked at two of his Instagram messages and you haven't even looked at the third one.
Oh my God, he told you all that?
Yeah, he did.
Yeah, he did. And I've done that, so I know why I've done that.
So what's up, girl?
Spill the tea. Why don't you want to talk to him?
So we went out and it wasn't what I was expecting.
What do you mean by that?
We were at our cool little picnic on the beach and he gets a phone call and this hot chick's picture pops up.
Oh, so you looked at his phone when his phone rang?
Yeah, of course I would look at his phone.
I don't know anyone who wouldn't.
It's right there in front of you.
And then did he, so did he take the phone call right there next to you yeah and then he walked away and when he's in the water forever oh wow he
walked away that sketch yeah okay so when he came back what did he say well he actually said it was
his daughter and i asked well how old is she and he told me she was 26 oh that's older than me it's like i didn't know that
how old are you i'm 23 oh wow that would be weird yeah i can't do the math but that's what makes him
considerably older doesn't it yeah i can't do the math either i was i was struggling with the math
between 26 and 23 that means she's three years older than you. Do you know how old he is? He's 49.
Oh. He was your age when he had her.
Yeah.
Did you know before you guys went
out that he was that much older than you
and that he had a daughter that was also older than you?
I knew he was older than me
but I didn't know he had a daughter
who was older than me. Oh wow.
That would be tough for sure. Yeah that would be
strange. It's weird. By the way I'm surprised he was on Instagram. Normally they're on Facebook aren't they? The olds? That's wow. That would be tough for sure. Yeah, that would be strange.
By the way, I'm surprised he was on Instagram.
Normally they're on Facebook, aren't they, the olds?
That's true.
That's a good point.
Good point.
He's a young 49.
He does have a 26-year-old daughter.
Yeah, that's true.
He just wanted to check up on her, like, I got to see what my kid's up to.
I can hear you.
Oh, yeah, that's right.
You can.
Hey, Angela.
Dave is actually on the other line listening and wants to talk to you.
Are you serious?
Yeah. Yeah, I've heard this whole thing.
And I know jokes, that's what you do, but I'm not that old.
Dave, why didn't you tell her that you had a daughter who was older than her?
First of all, hi, Angela.
Oh, yeah.
Forgotten.
Hi.
Hi, dude.
Yeah.
Yeah, I didn't.
You don't just go around telling people your kids' names and ages and stuff when you first hang out.
Also, I'm a young 49.
Really?
Also, I feel like a lot of people don't date people younger than their kids.
No, that's strange.
Yeah, that's kind of odd.
Yeah, that is actually really concerning and weird that you would date someone younger than your daughter.
Like, would you want your daughter to call her mom?
No, it's just like when you're my age and you're dating, your daughter is, I don't want to say irrelevant, but it's like, she's old enough.
It's not her business, right?
Yeah, I mean, I do feel like age is just a number.
Yeah. But it would be really hard like age is just a number. Yeah.
But it would be really hard to be dating someone who has an older child.
Yeah.
Very strange.
I mean, it's a good point. She's 26. She's an adult.
You're dating a 23.
Well, you went on a date with a 23-year-old who's also not as much of an adult as your daughter, but still an adult.
Yep.
So they're probably not going to be hanging out in the same way like you normally would.
But it's still an adult. Yep. So they're probably not going to be hanging out in the same way like you normally would. But it's still
so weird. Yeah. Dave, you're the
kind of guy, when you're filling out your bio on dating
sites, if you have any kids, you have to
put adult. Yeah. You need to specify
that, Dave. That's funny.
That's funny.
I see the room is not
exactly on my side right now, but
Angela, I really
think that if you can get beyond the daughter thing, I think there's something there.
Oh, you know what, Angela?
Okay, so now I'm just thinking about it because I've been on your side.
Like Dave just said, nobody's on his side, but that's because we're finding it weird.
But something did just strike me, though.
Angela, you said that you knew he was 49 when you went out with him, right?
Yeah, I didn't care about his age.
Okay.
So you don't have a problem with him being an older dude?
No, I like that.
Okay.
And did you like him while you were out on the date?
Yeah, he was really cool.
So it's just the thought of him having an older daughter.
It really just freaked me out.
What if he disowns his daughter?
No, that would be the worst.
Not where you wanted us to go.
That was just a thought that I just had.
I have revelations all the time.
Here, let me ask you a question.
Would you like to go out with Dave on another date?
We'll pay for it.
Do you think you can get past the daughter thing?
Because everything else about him you liked.
Angela as well, before you answer,
we know, he may not tell you this,
but everything works.
Wink, wink. answer, we know he may not tell you this, but everything works wink, wink
yes we do
what do you mean by that?
I'll tell you if you go out on another
date with me, I'll tell you what they mean
yeah, it's hilarious, trust me
you're going to want to hear it, Angela
Angela, would you go out with him
on another date, we'll pay for it
he sounds like a nice dude, sounds like you actually liked him
and maybe you can talk more
and see if you can get past the fact
that his daughter is your elder.
Okay.
Yeah.
I'll do another date.
Oh, nice.
Congratulations.
You're going to give Dave a heart attack.
Everyone calm down.
