The Jubal Show on demand demand first day follow-up alicia is on the phone today for a first date
follow-up and she's not getting a call back this is gonna rhyme so i can't wait from a dude named
jack so we'll see if we can figure out why and see if she can get another date with jack in just a
second alicia before we talk about your date and we talk about jack how long has it been since you
went out with jack sure yeah it's been about two weeks how many times have you tried to reach out to jack in
those two weeks oh gosh like an embarrassing amount oh not embarrassing um i'll tone it down
maybe about 15 what 15 text oh my gosh it's really embarrassing for me to admit that
what were you saying to him?
You know, just like, first of all, it started with the very, you know, typical polite text the next day that you do the standard of, you know, have a great time.
Have a great, you know, have a great weekend.
Kind of hoping there would be something else after that.
And then, hey, what are you up to?
Hope you're having fun.
Then it started to get a little creepy on my end you know have a good
Monday so you know okay
now it's just a and then they just
turn into haze
hey good morning
good morning you haven't
heard anything back from him no
I haven't so I don't know whether I'm
I'm blocked I don't know if something happened to
him you know I don't know whether maybe his wife. So I don't know whether I'm, I'm, I'm blocked. I don't know if something happened to him. You know, I don't know whether, um, maybe his wife found out. I don't know. You
know, I don't know what's going on on that end. It could be anything at this point. My mind is
racing. I have gone over to the dark side. So I have no idea. I'm just making up excuses in my
head. Tell us a little bit about your date with Jack then. How was it? Okay, I thought it went really well. It was really
nice, actually. We had met
at an art gallery.
It was the one
that he works at, and his
manager there was the one
who set us up, and
it was very nice.
You met at an art gallery, and the manager of the art gallery
set you up? Yes, yes.
He's a mutual friend.
I was able to go up to him and just tell him, hey, I think Jack's really cute. art gallery and the manager of the art gallery set you up? Yes. Yes. He's a mutual friend. Oh, okay.
I was able to go up to him and just tell him, Hey, I think Jack's really cute.
You know, cool.
Uh, you know, do you think he would be into somebody like me?
So he, you know, set us up long story short.
Um, next thing you know, Jack asked me out.
Where'd you guys go?
We went to a really fancy steak restaurant.
Okay.
Are you surprised that he's ghosting you?
Did it go well?
Yeah, I thought it did.
I thought it was very fulfilling in all areas of the beautiful environment.
We both looked nice.
We talked about everything under the sun.
Okay.
You know, all of our interests nonstop, actually.
It was nonstop conversation from beginning to end.
Was there any part during the date that
you thought maybe something
got awkward?
I mean,
I don't know what I could have done, but I
do know at the end of the night, I did
want there to be some PDA.
I did want there to be some action.
But I understood at the
same time, he said he had to get up early the next day.
So we didn't go anywhere else after the restaurant, which I completely am respectful of.
You know, that happens to me at times.
So the only thing I could think of that may have turned him off is, so, okay, we didn't go to the restaurant together.
So we left in separate cars
okay i did try like i said i wanted some pba i tried to kiss him but he just um hugged back
okay again you know i don't know maybe it's just a respect thing you know which is very you know
nice i said i would text him we would talk later and hopefully plan something again for the next week well I I left the parking lot to go home and as I was pulling out another car
cut me off and as anybody else would you know this would happen to them you got a little frustrated
I got frustrated and I got a little mad that somebody cut me off. Okay.
And so I kind of went, I kind of lost my mind just for a second and just honked my horn a bunch and yelled.
And I did, I did give the finger.
Okay.
And that's when I realized it was Jack.
That was the driver that I took off.
Yeah.
So, but you know, anybody would
just laugh that off. I mean, I'm sure he would
have acted the same way.
Yeah, that was it. I had texted
him like, ha ha ha, didn't know that
was you.
And he has not responded.
He did not respond to
that and has not responded
since. Okay, maybe that wasn't
it. That's kind of rough to stop talking about.
Yeah.
We'll play a song, come back, call him,
and see why he's not calling you back,
and if we can get you another date right after this.
Right in the middle of your first date follow-up,
if you're just joining us,
Alicia's on the phone,
and she's not getting a call back from a dude.
His name is Jack.
It sounds like a nursery rhyme, but it's not.
It's actually real life.
She's not getting a call back from this dude after she went on a date with him.
And she thinks it might be because she road raged a little bit after the date.
All in the wrong person.
If you didn't hear the first part, Alicia met Jack at an art gallery.
They were introduced through a mutual friend.
They went out to a steak dinner.
She thought that they had an amazing time.
And as they were leaving the restaurant, she pulled out of the parking lot and the car cut her off.
And she got a little road ragey
right Alicia?
Yes.
Then she realized oh the car in front of her
that cut her off was Jack the guy she
went on a date with and she had already
honked and flipped him off and yelled at him a little bit
and after that she texted him like
LOL sorry about that
and he hasn't texted her since
so she thinks it might have been that.
And we're about to call him right now
to try to figure out exactly what it was.
You ready to go, Alicia?
Yep, ready to go.
All right, here we go.
I'm going to call him right now.
Hello?
Hi, may I speak to Jack, please?
Yeah, this is him.
Hey, Jack, what's up? How are you?
This is the Jubal Show. It's a radio show.
My name is Jubal.
My name is Alex.
I'm Christian Gray Snow.
My name is Bennett.
How are you?
Okay, hey guys, how you doing?
What's going on?
Have you ever heard a first date follow-up before?
Yeah, I've heard a few.
The first date follow-up, just to give you a little information on that, Jack,
is if you go out on a date with someone and then end up ghosting them,
they can email us to get you on the phone and ask what happened
and why you're not calling them back.
Alicia, you're calling me about Alicia.
Well, I was trying to surprise you, but yes.
Alicia emailed us and told us about your date.
She said that she's been trying to get a hold of you for two weeks
and you haven't responded at all.
So we're calling to ask why,
what happened?
Uh,
well,
she's an arrogant one-upper.
If I may be a blunt.
Oh,
wow.
Yeah.
That's quite what happened.
You know,
she comes to me,
she comes to my art opening and,
um,
my,
my buddy who owns the gallery,
he hooks it,
he hooks us up.
We start talking,
vibing and everything.
And we decided to go out on a date.
So we go out, nice restaurant.
Everything was cool.
As I kept talking to her about, you know, we're talking about our lives and talking about everything.
She just kind of one-upped me every step of the way.
I hate people like that.
Me too.
I hate them more.
I hate them most that. Me too. I hate them more. I hate them most.
Plus one.
It was for everything.
It was for the school that I went to.
She went to a better school.
I have this car. I have this car.
I was just like,
not only that, but she talked about her job.
She talked down to me
about her job. I'm an artist.
She works at a law firm i'm like okay
and uh she was just you know i don't think she knew that she was doing it but she was
putting down what i do so one of the things that she was saying was that she was like she's like
i wish i could be an artist and i wish i couldn't care about nice things and where I live and not having money and yada, yada, yada.
I wish I didn't care about being so successful.
I wouldn't mind being a homeless artist.
Like you.
She used the word successful a lot for herself.
Okay, wow.
All right.
That's weird.
Yeah.
So, talking down to me a bunch.
And, you know, that was kind of the modus operandi for the whole date.
And then at the end of it,
we're both leaving.
She goes in for, like, a kiss.
And I'm like, eh, no.
I gave her a hug.
And I figured she would pick up on the signs.
Yeah.
As I'm leaving.
You know, I was pulling out of the parking lot.
And then she revs up her car right
behind me. And then she's
cursing and she's yelling and she's
flipping the bird and she's
throwing paper cups out of her car at me.
And I'm like, what are you
doing? And then she
looks at me and she's like, oh, hi. I didn't
know it was you. And I'm like, dude, come on. Enough.
So yeah,
she's just like a self-important anger ball.
And I'm just like, oh, my God.
I don't know if Alicia is going to like being called that, especially if she's a self-important anger ball.
She didn't seem like that to us.
But Alicia is on the phone listening and wants to talk to you.
Oh, no.
Good morning, Jack.
How have you been?
I've been great.
Have you gotten better at driving?
Oh.
Okay.
Yeah.
Great.
How are your drawings?
Oh, you're mean.
So why do you want to go out with me again if this is what you're going to do?
This is why I want to go out with you.
You're horrible.
Well, you know what?
You are a good-looking date, and I was very happy to take somebody who dressed up as nice as you did to a very nice restaurant,
one that you couldn't have afforded without me.
Now I see why you didn't get a kiss.
Yeah, well, you should have been proud.
And I guess I just don't think that you could handle a confident, successful woman.
No, I can handle confidence and success.
I'm a successful artist.
I just can't handle somebody who is as mean and as rude as you are, obviously, because this isn't how you talk to people.
You know, you want a second? You want me to go out with you again and put up with this isn't how you talk to people.
You want me to go out with you again and put up with this?
Why would I do that?
I didn't even want a second date, Jack.
I got you on this phone
just so that I could finally get in touch with you
just to tell you that you were a crappy date,
a crappy driver, and a crappy artist.
What?
Dang, girl.
That's the reason why.
It's not because you wanted a second date,
because you were coming in hard for the kiss,
because you were all up on me at the restaurant,
which she was, guys.
She was all about it.
Or you're wondering why I'm not calling you back?
I just knew how proud you were to finally be seen with a woman
who had more money than you will probably ever make,
and I wanted to let you know that you are not good enough for me girl wow oh oh that's cool is that why you texted me 12 times
being like hey can i see you again when can i see you again jack you look really good i actually
thought you were somebody else oh girl please yeah and this is exactly why I don't want to be going back out with you,
because you just can't take anything seriously.
I can take things seriously.
I'm serious about not wanting to go out with you ever again.
I love him.
I'm sorry.
She actually hung up after that.
Jack, are you sure you don't want a second date with Alicia?
She will pay for it.
Oh, geez.
Oh, well, in that case, no, no, guys, no.
She hung up anyway, so.
