The Jubal Show on demand.
First date follow-up.
Ronnie is on the phone today for a first date follow-up,
and Ronnie isn't getting a call back from a date he went on with a girl named Nina.
What's up, Ronnie? How are you?
Hey, man. I've been better, but I'm doing okay. How you doing?
Not too bad.
How long has it been since your date with Nina?
So the date was about a week ago.
And how many times have you tried to reach out to her since your date?
Oh, man.
At least two or three times.
Maybe a little more.
I'm ashamed to admit.
All right. Well, two or three times isn't that bad. Before you tell us why you think she's not calling you back, tell us a little more. I'm ashamed to admit. All right.
Well, two or three times isn't that bad.
Before you tell us why you think she's not calling you back, tell us a little bit about the date.
Yeah, sure.
So basically, the date was about a week ago.
Like I said, we met through a mutual friend, which I thought was really cool, you know, instead of the online dating stuff like everyone else does.
And when I take girls out on dates you know i want
to do something fun like get them get them to interact and stuff not just sit there and and
have a drink so we went to a little local show uh one of my friends was having a concert his band
was playing so we actually first we met for appetizers and had a few drinks near near the concert venue.
And then we went to the show.
OK.
And then, yeah, I mean, like, you know, that's fun, right?
That's exciting.
Yeah, that's a good time.
I mean, it depends on how you're going to see.
It depends.
Right.
It could turn it could end up not a good time.
Was it a good time?
Yeah.
No, we had a great time.
So basically, we saw the show.
We were kind of dancing a little bit and having fun.
And then we said we, after the show, we said we would see each other again.
And then we had a nice little hug and even a little kiss was thrown in there.
And then we, yeah, we said goodnight in our separate ways.
Okay.
All right.
So, and then that's the last time she talked to you?
You haven't heard from her since? Correct. correct yeah i haven't heard from her at all um you know i
reached out to like say hey i hope you made it home safe no response okay and then you know
texted her like the next day like hey uh that was really fun i would love to see you again
no response why do you think she's ghosting you ah gosh you know honestly i think i i have been
a little skittish to date since my last relationship you know we were together for
five years and it just kind of got me in a bad place okay is this the first date you've been on
in a while then yeah well i i've been i've been like one other day recently but it even that was several months
ago and it took me a while to get past that so bottom line is i mean on this date though nina
was awesome like she made me feel really safe and secure and um i could be myself you know and
and she was so kind and she was really oh oh my God, gorgeous, really attractive.
You say skittish to date again, right?
What do you mean by that? Like when you, when she showed up, did you like squeal and run off?
That's what skittish sounds like to me.
Someone be like, ah, and then running away.
Yeah.
Uh, no, I just, you've been through a bad relationship before.
You know, you're like, it's like hard to trust people.
Are they lying to you?
You know, um, you just kind of take things too personal
i guess i've been told that how would she know that though great question she wouldn't so you
think that your insecurities maybe make you act like a little awkward on the date or something
yes got you okay you okay you didn't bring up anything from your last relationship right like
my ex-girlfriend that's something that my ex used to do because whenever
that happens on a first date it's kind of like a red flag like this person isn't ready
no i don't think so i mean i don't really know what else it would have been
you didn't start crying no tears yeah yeah no tears at all nothing like that um i i mean i
don't really know what it is what what it is or what it was.
I,
I know I was looking at my phone a little bit,
kind of tapping it to see what time it was.
So I don't know if she thought maybe I was like rushing to get out of there
or I know I was nervous.
I know that.
So maybe that was.
Yeah.
Okay.
So it's either you were nervous and you knew you were nervous.
She had no idea or you were nervous and you knew you were nervous. She had no idea. Or you were nervous and you were
fidgeting and sweating a bunch
and crying.
You peed your pants, Ronnie?
I can't believe that.
It's all cartoons in my head. That's why I said that.
Anyway, we'll see if we can figure it out for you.
Why she's not calling you back. We'll play a song, come back, and get your
first date follow-up next, okay?
Awesome, thanks.
If you're just joining us for today's first date follow-up,
Ronnie is on the phone,
and Ronnie isn't getting a call back
from a date he went on
with a girl named Nina.
They went out to a concert.
He said that everything was great.
They had fun,
but Ronnie hasn't been dating very much.
I guess he got out of a relationship,
and that was a longer relationship
for like five years,
so he's a little skittish
when it comes to dating,
and he might have been scared of Nina a little too much when he ran off into the night screaming
and hollering, don't hurt me.
You've got to give this guy a break.
Sorry, Ronnie.
But no, Ronnie says that maybe he was a little too nervous because it's been a while since
he dated and that was showing.
So maybe that he was awkward and he was checking his phone a bunch to see what time it was
kind of fidgety. Maybe she thought he was awkward and he was checking his phone a bunch to see what time it was. Kind of fidgety.
Maybe she thought he was texting someone else or something.
So Ronnie doesn't know why he's not getting a call back, but that's just what he thinks.
All right, Ronnie, are you ready for us to give her a call and see why she's not calling back?
Now or never.
All right.
All right, here we go.
I'm going to dial her phone number.
Good luck.
Hello?
Hey, what's up?
Is this Nina?
Hey, this is Nina.
Who's this?
This is the Jubal Show.
It's a radio show.
My name's Jubal.
Mine's Alex.
I'm Christian Gray Snow.
I'm Bennett.
Okay, hi y'all.
Why are y'all calling?
We actually do a segment on our show called The First Date Follow-Up where if you go out on a date with somebody and then you end up ghosting them, they can have us call you and
ask why you're ghosting them.
So we got an email about you from somebody.
That's really why we're calling.
Oh, okay.
Would you like to know who it was is it ronnie have you been out with anybody else other than ronnie in the last couple weeks
no he's the only guy i've been out with okay then that narrows it down yeah it's ronnie seems like
you know the answer girl yeah ronnie hit us up because he said he really liked going out with
you but you've been ghosting him.
He's tried to reach out to you a few times, and you haven't responded.
Oh, my gosh.
I feel terrible.
No, I wasn't ghosting him, actually.
So I didn't know, but I wasn't planning to, but I went out of the country because we had a work trip, and they ended up needing to put me on it.
So I've been out of the country the whole time.
I just got back in yesterday.
I actually really
like him he's he's a really sweet guy i was gonna call him whenever i like got myself settled i just
got back last night oh wow so you weren't ghosting him oh no i i really liked him i thought he was
really sweet why didn't you text him oh yeah i know i don't have like a an international plan
but you can still like do it over like a messaging app or a Wi-Fi.
Instagram, something, yeah.
I mean, sure, but I don't owe him anything.
We went on one date, and I was focused on work.
Yeah, I mean, I guess that's a fair point.
It's just when you like someone, they like you,
and you guys went out on a date, and then you just don't respond.
That's weird for me.
Yeah, and you would think if you were into it,
you'd be doing something to let him know like hey i'm gonna be unreasonable for a
couple days but i'm coming back for you yeah well i mean i've just learned to you know like i don't
know i just go off my own schedule more about myself and if it's gonna work out it's gonna
work out like we went on one date and i had other things i needed to focus on like it's it didn't
seem that serious to me if it's gonna work to work out, it's going to work out.
All right.
But I really did like him, though.
Like, I thought he was really sweet.
I want to go out with him again.
Okay.
Well, why don't you tell him that?
Because Ronnie's actually on the phone listening and wants to talk to you.
Surprise.
I'm sure I did tell him then.
Yeah, you already did tell him.
Why?
He's on the phone?
Surprise.
He sure is.
Yeah.
I'm here.
Hi.
Hey, hey, how's your trip?
Um, it was really good.
Look, I wasn't ghosting you.
I'm sorry that I made you think that I, I wasn't expecting to go on this trip, but I
really had a good time and I'd like to go on another date.
I really like you.
Awesome.
Yeah.
I mean, I thought, I thought you had, I had a great time too, so I would love to go on another date. I really like you. Awesome. Yeah. I mean, I thought I
thought you had I had a great time, too. So I would love to hang out again. Sounds great.
I was just nervous because I dating isn't really my strong suit. And, you know, I didn't know if
I came across just, you know, nervous because I was. And but hey, I'm glad you had a good time.
I'd love to hang out again.
I could tell you were nervous, but I thought it was cute, and I'd definitely like to see you again.
Okay.
Well, then I'll ask a question that I already know the answer to.
Nina, would you like to go out with Ronnie again on another date?
We'll pay for it.
Oh, yeah, definitely.
We love a happy ending.
Congratulations, Ronnie.
You got your date. Yeah, thank you. Thanks, Ronnie. You got your date.
Yeah, thank you.
Thanks, guys.
Yeah, you're welcome.
Yeah, I can't wait to see you again.
I'll make sure to talk about all my exes and show you all the red flags.
Yeah, perfect. Just leave them all at the same time.
Just kidding.
