Starting point is 00:02:25 Kai is on the phone today for our first date follow-up, and he's getting ghosted by Evie. who we went on a date with and really likes. So in a second, we'll call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him another date. But first, Kai, how long has it been since you heard from Evie? Hi, guys. It's been about two weeks since I've heard from Evie. We usually are very friendly and flirtatious to everyone that goes to our CrossFit gym.
Starting point is 00:02:48 We've been certain back and forth a little bit, but then we decided that we'd go and grab a smoothie after our workout, so we went to grab a smoothie, and that went really well, so then we decided we'd go out and actually have a proper date. So we went to this new topless place in town. We ended up chatting with each other, and we got the paella, and while we went on the paella to come out, we decided to, after we ordered, we decided to be on the same side of the booth, and we'd go through each other's phones,
Starting point is 00:03:14 and we were talking about pictures and videos that we were talking about, especially with our family members. And then there was a kiss, which was pretty awesome. So I think everything was going according to plan, but then I haven't heard back from her. And I think it's because I eat all the shrimp out of the pie, but I'm not really sure. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:33 All the shrimp. Okay. Wait, wait, wait, wait. So let's talk about the kiss then. Was that mutual? Like, did you feel like she was given that energy back? Definitely. Definitely, definitely, very mutual.
Starting point is 00:03:46 So I kissed her. She kissed her back. So then where does the shrimp come in? I was, I was mainly the few of the protein content. But I eat a majority of the, yeah. shrimp from the patio. I think that she made and had nothing. Why do you think that that's the thing? Did she say something about it?
Starting point is 00:04:06 She would give me a look the entire time. So is it that you ate all the shrimp or is that because you left the girl starving? That's what I called you guys. Okay. Okay. And you reach out to her and she just said nothing? Nope, she hasn't been anything else. Well, what was your
Starting point is 00:04:22 last interaction? So what did you say to her? So basically you sent her a text and said I had a great time and then she responded saying, Thanks for dinner. And it wasn't the energy that you were looking for. So I texted Evie. After dinner, I said, you know, I had a really great time. I was looking for doing next eight.
Starting point is 00:04:37 And she just responded with, you know, thank you for dinner. That was a period. You know, kind of low energy with kind of response. So I haven't really heard anything from her since then. Okay. Have you seen her at CrossFit? Just in passing. Not really, not really, you know, long home conversation.
Starting point is 00:04:55 Just, you know, hi, how are you? I don't really hate to talk about those types of things. So you're getting curve. Yeah. All right. Well, we'll see why. We'll play a song. Come back and then call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting you and maybe get you another date, okay?
Starting point is 00:05:08 Okay, sounds good. All right. Play a song, come back, get your first date follow up next. Power struggles, shady money, drugs, violence, and broken promises. It's a freaking war zone. These people are animals. There's no integrity. There's no loyalty.
Starting point is 00:05:25 That's all gone. In the 1980s, modeling wasn't just a dream. It was a battlefield. Book, book, book, make deals. Let's get models in. Let's get them out. And the models themselves? They carried scars that never fully healed. Till this day, honestly, if I see a measuring tape, I freak out.
Starting point is 00:05:44 The Model Wars podcast peels back the glossy cover and reveals a high-stakes game where survival meant more than beauty. Hosted by me, Vanessa Grigoriatis, this is the untold story of an industry built on ruthless ambition. Listen to Model Wars on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, West West, Prop here from Hood Politics with Prop Podcasts. You already know our get-down. If you grew up in our urban areas of comfort of struggle, you understand politics much more than you giving credit for.
Starting point is 00:06:23 Fed's taking over American cities, government hop-out boys, hopping out the van, snatching up your Theo and them, two wars that was supposed to be solved in 24 hours. Jerry just out here mandering all over the place, the turfs, and of course, the Epstein of it all. Well, this week, we decided to shoot our shot, and boy, did we pull up from the logo, to see if we could get somebody to come tap in with us, and the one and only Jamil Hill pulled up from the Spolitics podcast to keep it a whole century. Because in America, what sells in politics are narratives and storylines.
Starting point is 00:06:57 It's like we treat politics like we treat sports, which is part of the reason why we're in the situation we're in right now. Listen to the hood Politics with Prop Podcasts on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Imagine that you're on an airplane and all of a sudden you hear this. Attention passengers. The pilot is having an emergency and we need someone, anyone, to land this plane. Think you could do it?
Starting point is 00:07:21 It turns out that nearly 50% of men think that they could land the plane with the help of air traffic control. And they're saying like, okay, pull this, until this. Pull that. Turn this. It's just, I can do it my eyes close. I'm Manny. I'm Noah. This is Devon. And on our new show, no such thing.
Starting point is 00:07:39 We get to the bottom of questions like these. Join us as we talk to the leading expert on overconfidence. Those who lack expertise lack the expertise they need to recognize that they lack expertise. and then as we try the whole thing out for real wait what oh that's the run right i'm looking at this thing listen to no such thing on the i heart radio app apple podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts right in the middle of your first date follow up and if you're just joining us kai is on the phone and he's getting ghosted by a girl named evie that he really likes he met her at crossfit and they went out on a date and he thinks he's not getting a call back because he ate all of the
Starting point is 00:08:20 shrimp in the paella that they ordered and she also needs her protein because you know crossfits absolutely so we'll see if that's the reason all right kai are you ready to give her a call yes ma'am okay man here we go hey eva hey evie how i'm i speak to evie please This is Evie, who's it? Hey, Evie, how are you? My name is Jubal. I'm calling from a radio show. It's called The Jubal Show.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Hi, Evie. I'm Nina also on the show. Hi, and I'm Victoria. Okay. How are you? It's a radio show. I'm confused. Sure.
Starting point is 00:09:04 Have you ever listened to the Jubal show before? Yeah, I've been on again. Okay, sweet. Thank you. Are you familiar with what a first date follow-up is? Oh, yeah. Okay, okay. Cool. Well, that's the segment where if you ghost somebody, they can email us to get you on the show and ask why you're ghosting them. And we got an email about you from somebody. You have any idea who that would be? Well, I've only gone on one first date recently, so I have a feeling I might know who it is.
Starting point is 00:09:35 Okay. Okay. Who is that? Is it Kai? Yes, it is. He told us about your date, and he wants to know. why you're not calling him back or why you're ghosting him. Would you mind telling us? Yeah. I mean, so, like, we had a, we were having, like, a pretty good night. Um, awesome tapas. And then, like, we had this, like, really good kiss, right?
Starting point is 00:10:02 And then he got up, went to the bathroom. And while he was there, his phone just kept getting messages from someone named V, and it was, like, egg plan emojis. And, uh, like, peach emojis and 10 emojis. And I'm at least five just in the time that he was in the bathroom. So, like,
Starting point is 00:10:23 I don't know who he is, but it sounds like he's kind of got something going on already. And I just felt so uncomfortable after that. Yeah. And then he just didn't mention them. Like, I don't know. It felt like he just left his phone out on the table.
Starting point is 00:10:39 Like, he would see what came to his phone when he came back kind of thing. Okay. He thought the reason you're not calling him back is because he ate all the shrimp out of the paella. Oh. I mean, yeah, he did do that and that was dumb. Okay. So it said he was getting texts that seemed like from another girl.
Starting point is 00:10:57 I mean, five. Yeah. A lot of eggplant emojis. Like, a lot. We should ask him about that, don't you think? Yeah. Evey. Oh, that's right.
Starting point is 00:11:10 He's here, right? Yes, he is. Kai's on the phone and wants to talk to you. Hi, Evie. Hey. Hey, Evie. This is kind of awkward, but I'm a little bit mortified. And I'm going to kill my friend, Vic.
Starting point is 00:11:30 He was the one that was sending all the emoji text messages. Did you say your friend? From the gym. It's my friend, Vic. Yeah, he was basically, he knew that I was into Evie for a while, and he was trying to to be encouraging by sending those messages in order to let me know exactly what I should do. Anatomically speaking, it really goes well on a date. But not that I don't appreciate his input, but I kind of already knew how to do that anyways,
Starting point is 00:12:01 but in his own way he was trying to at least be encouraging and be friendly, but I don't think he knew that she was going to see the messages from him. Uh, in addition to this happened, I'm going to kill him the next time I see him, but it was nothing, um, sexual between me and somebody else. It was mainly sexual between me and my buddy. Okay, so what you're saying is it, it wasn't another girl, but it was your friend, like, convinced we were going to hook up. Like, is that why you went out with me? Because you were like, sure we were going to hook up? I, I wasn't going out with you because I was convinced we were going to hook up.
Starting point is 00:12:44 going out because I wanted to go out with you. The whole walking up thing is just a bonus. You're the main you're the main goal here is to go and have a good time with you because I'm into you. A goal? Come on. Like, a guy
Starting point is 00:13:00 like you at the gym only has one agenda and friends just like Z or Vick or whatever his name is. I knew you were too good to be true when I went out, right? Like, if that's all you're interested in, like that's not what I'm here for. That's not all I'm interested in, no.
Starting point is 00:13:17 That's just my friend's dumb idiots. He decided to send very, very dumb text messages when I wasn't at the table, but I am not into you for that. That's just a bonus. I'm into you for everything that you are and everything that you can be, and especially all the conversation
Starting point is 00:13:36 that we haven't on the last date. Connections are going really well. So, yes, I can understand that you might be a little, upset and confused by the messages, but that's the last thing on my mind. And also, your, your squad game is, like, insane. Like, you can squat so much, and I think it's really hot. So it's also, that's an added bonus.
Starting point is 00:13:58 Plus, you have a child dairy naps that's not going to do it at some point in time. After, after an apology dinner, when you possibly see about, you know, potentially, um, doing something on those lines. Okay. Well, wow. And also, you get to eat all the, shrimp tonight you get all the shrimp and wherever we go I will make sure that they feed you at least eat extra shrimp just to make sure that to make it for the last time I don't know if this is
Starting point is 00:14:24 sweet or just like out there if you would you like to go on another date with kai will pay for it uh I still don't know if I totally believe you yet but you can buy me shrimp you're saying yes yes yes I will go on a second day but you are on probation it sounds like she said yes to shrimp Okay, well, congratulations, Kai. You got another date. Yay. This is exactly how I appreciate all the help. This was one exactly how I thought it would go.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Thank you so much. Just tell Vic to lay off the eggplants, okay? Okay. Yeah, I want to see those texts, though. I will definitely show them to you. I'm going to do a little bit of editing so that way they're not as graph because they used to know. Oh. But I will make sure that you see them.
