Starting point is 00:02:09 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. First date follow-up, powered by the advocates injury attorneys, online at advocateslaw.com. Zion is on the phone today for a first-day follow-up, and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Palmer, so in a few minutes we'll call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting.
Starting point is 00:02:28 and maybe get him a second date. But first, Palmer, why do you think you're getting ghosted? I think it's because I went out with her sister. Like, yeah, I can see that. Like after your date? No, no. It was a few years ago. Oh.
Starting point is 00:02:45 It wasn't anything serious. We met the same way me and her sister met on a dating nap. Went out on a few dates and it just kind of fizzled out. We realized we really weren't into each other. Okay. Did you know that beforehand? No. I didn't know until the middle of the date.
Starting point is 00:03:00 She showed me a picture of their family vacation last year, and I noticed like, wow, that girl looks familiar. That's awkward. Yeah. It was her, yeah, I debated on not saying anything at all, but then I was worried that her sister would say something before I could. So I just blurted it out, really. Just blurted out that you dated her sister. That's always good on the first thing. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:24 I dated her. Yeah. It was really like that. Like, it just made it so much worse because the conversation had moved on. Oh. And then I just, yeah, I literally just went. I went out with your sister, but we didn't hook up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:42 That's good to clarify that part, though. Just blurting it out like that. Could you just not stop thinking about it or something? Yeah, I just, I had to say it. She was obviously shocked. And then, like, the people sitting and the table sitting in the table. tables next to us definitely heard me unless they were shocked, too. Yeah, it was really awkward. That's awkward. Yeah. And did it seem like it bothered her to the point where she'd ghost you?
Starting point is 00:04:08 I mean, she got a little quiet and then her answers got shorter. I mean, I thought that she was just, you know, embarrassed. But other than that, like, we had a fun date. I walked back to her car. We didn't kiss good night. Okay. But it seemed like she was. would want to see me again, honestly. All right. Well, try to figure it out for you. We'll play a song, come back, and then call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting you and maybe get you a second date.
Starting point is 00:04:35 All right? Awesome. Thank you. All right. Your first date follow-up is right after this. It's the Jubal Show. First date follow-up. Powered by the Advocates injury attorneys.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Online at Advocateslaw. Right in the middle of your first date follow-up. And if you're just joining us, Zion is on the phone and he's getting ghosted by a girl named Palmer. So we're about to call her. and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date. But before we do that, Zion, why don't you refresh our memory on why you think you're getting ghosted? Yeah, I went out with this girl.
Starting point is 00:05:06 I also went out with her sister like a few years ago, but it didn't go anywhere. And yeah, now she has ghosted me. Okay. And because you didn't know that until you were on the date with her and you blurted out that you had dated her sister during the date and it was awkward. Exactly. Okay. Not all sisters like to share. Well, here we go.
Starting point is 00:05:26 I'm going to call her right now and see if that is the reason you're getting ghosted. Hello. Hi, may I speak to Palmer, please? This is she. Hey, Palmer, how you doing? This is a radio show. It's called The Jubal Show. Hi, Palmer.
Starting point is 00:05:42 I'm Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria. And my name is Jubal. How are you? Oh, hi. Wow. I am good. How are you all?
Starting point is 00:05:52 Good. Have you heard of the show before? Are you familiar with it? No. No. don't know what's happening. Oh, okay. It sounded like you did. Dang. Well, you can check us out if you want to, jubelshow.com. But anyway, it's a radio show. And the reason that we're calling you today is because we do a segment on our show that's called the first date follow-up. So that's where if somebody goes out on a date with you and you end up ghosting them, they can email us to get you on the phone and find out why you're ghosting them. And we got an email about you from someone that you recently went out with. Oh, shit. Do you know who you're ghosting right now?
Starting point is 00:06:27 Are you ghosting anybody? I mean, oh, it could be a couple people. Okay. Good for you. This guy's name is Zion. Oh, Mr. Morning Motivation. Okay, no, thank you. Morning.
Starting point is 00:06:46 Yeah, I'm just a tired of it. Okay. Wait, what? That's, I, I, I, like you're sleeping. Love that. Love that. Yeah. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:02 Our date was nice. Did you, I mean, but I found his Instagram after and, okay, everything looked really good, but there were lots of pictures of him like outside hiking and running and doing marathons and all those. Okay. And then, and then, and then, and then, and then the worst part about it is every single morning. it's five in the morning. He posts like a motivational like, Hey, everyone, she'd give you a great day.
Starting point is 00:07:31 Look at the sunrise. It's so beautiful. It's bullshit. I'm sorry. All right. So you don't dig that off. That's nice. Yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:43 I thought like maybe he just does it once in a while, but like I was looking through and he does it all the time. It's wild. I just, so we're just not. Yeah. I'm not trying to be able to. the guy who's like going to skip into the bedroom every morning and wake me up at 6 a.m.
Starting point is 00:08:00 And like I should hop out of the bed like a human pop tart, you know. I feel that. That's not for me. Yeah. I just like to spend my weekends napping, you know, on the couch and watching Netflix. And yeah. So fair. All right.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Okay. So you're just, you just don't think you guys would be a good fit because you are, as you said, a tired Yeah. Okay. Yeah. I've dated guys like him before. They're honestly so annoying. And like, if you were to wake me up like that, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Just like in person and be like, hi, everything's going to be a great day. I'd strangle him with my eye mask. With my eye mask. So basically you're saving his life by ghosting him. Got you. Well, thank you. Yeah. Thank you for telling us why you're ghosting him.
Starting point is 00:08:54 I'll also let you know that Zion is on the phone right now and wants to talk to you. Oh my God. Do you hear me? Yeah. Oh, shit. Hey, Palmer. Well, well, this shit is hella early too. Yeah, I guess I should be saying, good morning.
Starting point is 00:09:16 Yeah. Up with the sun. So that's really why you're ghosting me? I mean, I thought it had something to do with your sister. On your profile, it said you like to hike and be outside and stuff. I would have considered you. I mean, everybody says that. Funny.
Starting point is 00:09:37 Yeah, it's just like, you know, that's the way to get, you know, oh, I like trees too. But I didn't think that you were so serious about, like, the 4 a.m. I'm sorry. You know, it's like no, no hate, but, like, plenty of hate for. losing sleep. I just like, I got to get my shed eye, you know. Okay, yeah. I mean, it's just
Starting point is 00:10:03 something I'm passionate about, you know? What, not sleeping or waking up early? Or both? Just tackling the day. Okay. Yeah, yuck. That's not. I hate that.
Starting point is 00:10:14 I hate that you said that. I hate that you said that. Like, I don't know. And you probably hate me too, you know, you'd be all bike ridey and want me to go and I might get on you, you know. Okay. All right. Well.
Starting point is 00:10:33 Different personalities. Yeah. Yeah. Both great. There you go, Zion. There's your answer. She's just ghosting you. Nothing personal.
Starting point is 00:10:40 She just hates mourning people. So. I do have to ask anyway. Would you guys like to go out again on a second date? We'll pay for it. No. Sorry. No.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Thank you. Well, Palmer, if it's cool with you, I can send you the occasional morning motivation text. That's cool? Probably don't. Maybe after noon motivational text. Well, it'll be better. Well, you know, Palmer, I think you're really funny. And, like, I'd like to have you just as a friend.
Starting point is 00:11:15 We can hang out sometime. If you're cool with that, it's just you seem like a really cool girl. That's cute. Yeah, that's fine. I just never asked me to do anything active because I'm still tired of Bihubu's first day follow-up. What's up, fam, it's sports journalist Ari Chambers.
