Open your free high-heart radio app. Search Delivering Happiness with Nick Tutro. And listen now. Liam is on the phone today for a first date follow-up, and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Grace.
Starting point is 00:02:14 So in a few minutes, we'll call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date. But first, Liam, why do you think you're getting ghosted? Because she's used to all these beta boys, and for one, she's out the real alpha male. Okay. Really? Okay. I thought you're talking about the frat betas. Okay, got it. No, no, that was a joke.
Starting point is 00:02:36 Okay. But, yeah, yeah. But I don't know. In the middle of dinner, she made a comment about how she was glad I picked the place because I guess there have been guys who she talks to who they can never make a decision to save their lives. They're just, they're not, they're not, yeah, they're just, they're not assertive. They're not assertive. And their response is always, yeah, yeah, whatever you want.
Starting point is 00:02:59 sure sure and you know they're just trying to please her as opposed to just you know being themselves and she said she was just she found that you know really annoying and so she actually really liked how I picked the place and the time and everything so I made this joke um after that saying like yeah you know that's that's total beta behavior I'm like come on a man's got to know when you got to know when to be an alpha oh yeah explaining it that way might be a little bit of a turn Yeah. Did she not know you were joking? I guess what she laughed, but I kind of, as soon as it came out of my mouth, I regretted it. And after that, you know, I just, you know, I've been harping on and replaying it because like the whole, the date to me went really well, but there was that one moment.
Starting point is 00:03:51 And I just can't help think, but that, you know, that's, that's why she's, she's ghosting me. And, yeah, and, you know, I ask my friends and stuff. Sometimes it's hard to tell when I'm joking. And judging from how she reacted, it probably looked like I was, you know, legit calling myself this alpha, alpha dude. And I said I was, you know, I said I was joking. And we actually, you know, at the end of the date, we kissed and we talked about, you know, making plans.
Starting point is 00:04:22 Yeah, that I was going to call her and we're going to make plans for another date. So, yeah, that's kind of the only thing I can think of, you know, like, you know, why would I even say that? It's kind of stupid. Liam is on the phone and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Grace, so we're about to call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date. But before we do that, Liam, why don't you remind us why you think you're getting ghosted? Well, I made a silly joke about, you know, she's just dating all these. beta boys and for once now she's with a real alpha male
Starting point is 00:04:59 and yeah I don't I don't think that was a wise kind of corny yeah her end you don't think she thought
Starting point is 00:05:10 she you think that she thought you were serious exactly all right well I wish I wasn't yeah here we go I'm going to dial her phone number right now and we'll see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting you all right Hello?
Starting point is 00:05:28 Hi, may I speak to Grace, please? This is Grace. Hey Grace, how are you? This is a radio show. It's called the Jubal Show. What's up, Grace? This is Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria.
Starting point is 00:05:39 And my name is Jubal. How are you? Hi, everyone. I'm good. What's going on? Not much. Have you listened to the Jubal show before? Yeah, I listen to you guys all the time.
Starting point is 00:05:50 Oh, thank you. Thank you. Thank you for that. Appreciate that. Well, Grace, then you probably have heard a first date follow-up before. That's the second. where if you ghost somebody, they can email us to get you on the phone and ask why you're ghosting them. And, yeah, we got a email about you from a guy named Liam who's wondering why you're not calling him back.
Starting point is 00:06:09 Would you mind telling us? Because he would not stop saying, what, what, in the butt? What? That's why you're ghosting because he wouldn't stop saying what, what in the butt? Yes. And then also, to be clear, it wasn't just. what what in the butt. He also said things like, that's what she said.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Okay, that's funny, though. And like 7,000 other things, a 13-year-old who just discovered what memes are, would that? Really? Okay. Like, in what context? Like, just in random conversation? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:06:47 So, like, okay, so the date started off good. He's hot, and I like the fact that he made the decision of where to take me because that seemed super mature. you know, and we met up at the restaurant. But when we met up, and I'm not, I'm not lying, this was the first thing that happened. I walked up to him and I said hi. And then he just looks at me and goes, up dog. And I was like, I know.
Starting point is 00:07:11 So this is where it was. He starts laughing. And then he looks at me and goes, no, you're supposed to say, what up dog? Oh, okay. So he's trying to be funny. He must have been nervous. but he did it the whole time and it was like every single time
Starting point is 00:07:31 I said what he said what in the butt to the point where like I thought I was on like a YouTube prank or something like he was recording me and that later I was going to find out that oh ha ha this is the joke
Starting point is 00:07:45 it was he was the fratiest of fat boys and I'm not interested like that was not yeah all right well Thank you for telling us the reason that you're ghosting him. I will also, in case you forgot, I know you've listened to these before, but Liam is on the phone and he wants to talk to you.
Starting point is 00:08:06 Yeah. Yeah. Hi. Where's the what what in the butt? Wow. I said what in the butt one time. Yeah, but like, and it's, you make it sound like it's like it's like, catchphrase somebody like that aside i i think in four minutes and meeting me you called me dude
Starting point is 00:08:37 well that's how i that's how just how i talk like it's you know i on a date you said you said when we were you know setting things up that you like sense of humor and i have a very like dry sarcastic witty sense of humor and i guess you maybe you know it was it was nonstop it was nonstop I complimented your shirt, and then you told me, oh, thanks. Your mom bought it for me. He's a mama joke. No. Liam.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Liam. I think that's funny. It had a 69 in it. And then he started, like, laughing. I mean, like, like, like, like, look, listen. He's still laughing. I mean, I think that's crazy. He was not.
Starting point is 00:09:27 Oh, my gosh. Let me clarify. Can I just clarify? Like, you're not, wait, you're not saying, like, hold on. Let me just, like, I don't mean to interrupt. But, I mean, the bill was, guys, the bill was $108 and $69. Like, what kind of psycho doesn't see, you know, 69 and doesn't say anything? I mean, like, I'm laughing at it.
Starting point is 00:09:49 You're a grown adult on a date with the person that you met for the first time. It should, like, oh, and then on top of it. Anytime he made like a weird comment, he would congratulate yourself by being boom, roasted. Boom, roasted. Well, you know, it sounds like you got a whole list. Like, you make, it's weird. It's like there's a whole list of things that, like, apparently that, you know, like, and by the way, you said I said, you said, you said I said these nuts, like seven thousand.
Starting point is 00:10:25 What did you say? Like, how many times? Like, I said there was context. to it okay i didn't say it randomly well so the date was like an hour and a half it was an hour and a half of that like yeah and that's non-stop
Starting point is 00:10:42 you like and well i mean at the end you know we made out at the end so i thought things were going fine no it was it was a it was a good night kiss and that's all it was like it was just well i didn't even get to know anything about you
Starting point is 00:10:59 other than the fact that you're a 13-year-old. Like, there was no, there was no exchange of information. Grace. Anytime I said something, you didn't take me seriously. You just constantly, like, interrupted me with these weird, like, little kid jokes. Grace? Would you like to get to know him? We'll pay for you guys to go on another date.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Would you like to go out with Liam again? We'll pay for it. It won't be boring. Look, here's the thing. Liam, I'm sure you're great. Oh, no. But I think you're just too much for me. It just, yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Too much for you? Oh my God, don't. No, don't do it. Do it. That's what she said. I think you guys should go out again because she knew that it was coming. All right. Well.
