Nobody knew where you were. Your parents were basically like, good luck.
Starting point is 00:03:54 If you're not back by 11, your brother has already called dibs on your room. It was a whole different world. And more than half of Americans don't even know what life was like before cell phones. That's why BuzzFeed asked people who remember what life was like before cell phones and smartphones, whether life was actually better without them. And instead of just the usual kids these days stuff, some of the answers made a pretty convincing case that phones solved a bunch of problems. Nobody realized were also good for us. So let's go over some of the things that we lost when we got cell phones. We lost the ability to disappear.
Starting point is 00:04:33 Yes. Yeah. There used to be a completely normal sentence way back in the day. I'm going out. We're back later. Yay. Where? Nobody knows.
Starting point is 00:04:43 I will be gone and you'll have no idea where I am, but I will return. And you will have to deal with it. Yeah. You can leave your house and become an unsolved mystery for six whole hours. When I used to do that, all you would hear is my mom walking up and down the street. Yelling for you? Oh, my God. Dang.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Yeah. She's still like that. My parents didn't care. As long as the street lights run on, as soon as the street lights come on, that's when I needed to be home. And then they would worry. Pretty crazy to think about. There was no location sharing. No, why haven't you answered my text?
Starting point is 00:05:14 Right. And when you left work, you just left work. And then you went home and you weren't like, hey, I'll be home in 10 minutes, five minutes. I'm home. I'm outside right now. None of that. Somebody checking your GPS. Right.
Starting point is 00:05:25 Like we do with Victoria every morning. And your boss couldn't actually climb into bed with you at 850 when you're laying down trying to get some rest. What? Imagine that. You can be texting with your boss in bed. I'd be texting with your boss in bed. Spicy. We're going over a trend that people are sharing the things that they lost.
Starting point is 00:05:46 When we got cell phones, boredom used to force you to have a personality. Oh, my gosh, yeah. That's what hobbies were like a thing. Before cell phones, yeah. You used to have absolutely nothing to do sometimes. No TikTok, no Instagram, no YouTube, no endless scrolling. you just had to sit there. And eventually your brain went, well, I guess I better
Starting point is 00:06:05 invent something to do. So you might draw something. You might play some music. You might ride a bike. Build something. Go play a sport. Call somebody. Oh, the prank calls were a big thing.
Starting point is 00:06:17 We do prank calls all the time. How annoying. But if you did have phones, how would you prank call people? We had phones. They just weren't cell phones. Victoria, we saw at home phones before. I don't know. You already had time before phones.
Starting point is 00:06:31 I'm thinking like the dinosaurs run down the street as well. Like, girl. I mean I had to say, we had phones. It's hilarious. That ones that like were connected to the wall and like have the long cords that you can kind of twirl around. Yeah. And then some people have their own phone line because that way, you know, your parents
Starting point is 00:06:45 couldn't be on it. And so it was really fun to prank call the own phone line ones because you knew who you were getting. Another thing that people are saying would happen before cell phones that we lost when cell phones became a thing. You made plans and then would just show. show up. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:03 That sounds crazy now. But you would tell somebody like, hey, I'll see you on Tuesday. And then you'd show up on Tuesday at the place you said you were going to meet. No Friday confirmation. No, like, I'm on my way. I'm parking. I'm walking up to the door. You just showed up and hoped they were there.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Right. And you waited like 15, 20 minutes, maybe a half hour and then you started freaking out a little bit. Do you think people were more on time back then? Probably. Because you didn't have the ability to tell people you were going to be late. I actually think that. is absolutely probably a side effect. But what if you, like, forgot the location like you and your friend said?
Starting point is 00:07:36 Like a week out? And it's like, you said, meet at this store, whatever. But you forgot the store. Usually you write things down. Oh. Back then. I don't remember that part, though, because at that point, my mom was making all my plans for me, like before cell phones.
Starting point is 00:07:49 No, but if you, well, yeah. I mean, cell phones in high school, you didn't. We had pagers. Yeah, yeah. You had pagers? Yeah. Oh, I don't have a cell phone. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:58 What? Yeah, I had a flip phone in high school. But pagers, those are the ones where it's like, you get like a message and you have to go to a phone and call them. Yeah. But you could also have codes or you could tell people stuff. Yeah. Really? I guess we should bring those back.
Starting point is 00:08:12 I love that. That's kind of nice. I like having a pager. It was cool. Two-way pagers are cool too. I like those. I loved always sending people randomly. 5-0-0-0-0-8.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Right. Oh, no, it was 8-0-0-8. Yes. 5. 8-0-0-8-5. Yeah. I used to do 8-0-7-3-55. Brobless.
Starting point is 00:08:30 Oh, I just didn't. boobs. Are you serious? Life was life before cell phones. You know? They'd do something. I think we would have been friends as kids. Like I just had this feeling.
Starting point is 00:08:44 That would have been bad. I think we were all doing the same thing, is what it was. We all had the same boredom and the only tools we had were things like that. Yeah, exactly. And stalking, you actually had to drive by their houses and hide in trees. Nina. You couldn't just watch their Snapchat. Yeah, like stalking had to be physical back in the days.
Starting point is 00:09:02 Yeah. Yeah, talking. She said that like, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was so difficult. Do you think life was better before cell phones text in 4106.1? It's another jubel phone frame. 8th day mornings on the 20s. Hi, this is Pete Eakins calling from Tesla vehicle security and data privacy.
Starting point is 00:09:21 I'm trying to reach Wesley to D. Regarding an incident associated with the cabin camera in his vehicle. This is Wesley. What he's about? Yes, hi, Wesley. Pete Eakins. I want to make sure you got my title there. I'm with Tesla vehicle security and data privacy.
Starting point is 00:09:38 I understand. Yeah. Something up with my car? Yes, I needed to call and speak to you about a little bit, a little bit of an issue that we had. There's been a privacy breach in a few of our vehicles, yours being one of them. And it's an incident that's associated with the cabin camera system. So I'm going to go ahead and... What does that mean?
Starting point is 00:10:00 I'm going to go ahead and guess that you've already... I thought it was high security. Yes. So the cabin cameras in a few of our Tesla models were hacked and someone was able to film and record things going on inside the cabin of those Teslas. And apparently you had a date the other night. I'll just get to it. Apparently you had to date the other night. Well, not apparently. I know you had to date the other night. I've seen the video. Oh, boy. You seen the video? What do you mean? Well, more than 1.7 million people have seen the video now, unfortunately, and I'm so sorry to break that news to you.
Starting point is 00:10:38 But yes, the cameras were hacked and somebody were- Are you kidding me? Put the video of you doing your thing with your date online. Oh, we are so sorry about it. So I have a sex tape is what you're telling me? All these people, seven million people? One point seven at this point, but who knows how many can view it? Who knows what it'll get to? Unfortunately, some third-party side posted it, and yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:02 Good news is we've blocked, we figured out the problem, security problem that's been blocked, and that will never happen again. It'll never happen again. You just tell me I have a sex tape out there with a million people viewing it. Yeah, and that's got to be. I'm sleeping with my buddy's mom for crying out loud. Whoa, that makes it. Wow. Oh, boy, I had no idea.
Starting point is 00:11:22 But, you know, good news is the video is very flattering. I will say that. I'm impressed. You're impressed? What the hell is that about, man? man i did just that i you know i think it's at least it's if it that stuff is going to be out there at least it's a good look you know i'm trying to take i'm trying to look at that make a make a lemon out of lemon i guess making lemon make a lemonade out of lemons dude i'm going to shove a lemon up
Starting point is 00:11:47 your ass like i have a sex tape out there that you guys leaked like what i mean this is bullshit i'm all right i understand that that's upsetting and um we do take our privacy very seriously here at Tesla and we didn't leak it. Somebody who hacked in was able to get the video and leak it. But we do want to make it right. And we feel horrible about this. So I am authorized to offer you three years of complimentary Wi-Fi in your vehicle. Free Wi-Fi?
Starting point is 00:12:20 I mean, it doesn't even compare to what you guys did. Understand. What if we also throw in a free vehicle wrap? You can get it wrapped in any color you like. No. you, fuck your mother, and I'm suing, fuck Tesla, I'm suing you guys. Okay, well, then I'll just let you know
Starting point is 00:12:35 this is actually Jubil from the Jubal show doing a phone prank on you, and your buddy Rob set you up. What? It's a joke. He said that you were bragging the other day about how you wanted to date and mess around in your back seat and he wanted to mess with you.
Starting point is 00:12:50 Oh, man, I was freaking out. Like, I thought I was going to have to, I thought I had a sex tape floating around. Like, I thought I was going to have to tell my work. You know, face my mother. What the fuck? Oh, man. Wake up every morning with Jubal phone pranks.
Starting point is 00:13:05 Weekday mornings on the 20s. Give us three minutes and we'll give you everything you need to know for the day. It's time for Nina's what's trending. Are you watching the new season of Dancing with the Stars? Yeah. Okay. That's not what I was expecting. Are you really?
Starting point is 00:13:18 Yeah, it's a good show. Wow. Goops, sir. Somebody's in a relationship. I mean, yeah. Yeah, my girl likes Dancing with the Stars, so I watched last season and I got into it. But also, I would, like, I've been into that stuff on my own before, too. Really?
Starting point is 00:13:34 Like, I might watch Dancing with a Star single. Really? Yeah, but I'd have to, like, accidentally watch it. And then I would be in. Okay. You know what I mean? But, like, I purposely watched it because I wanted to watch it with my girlfriend. And now you're in?
Starting point is 00:13:43 Yeah. It's dope. It's a fun show. It's impressive to see what these people can do. Wait, do y'all do bet to see who's going to, like, you think one person's going to win, but she thinks the other person's going to win? No, because I usually have no idea who anybody is. But I'm just impressed at what they can do.
Starting point is 00:13:57 I don't even know what's a bad dance. Like we were watching it and she'll be like, oh my God, that was terrible. I was like, that looked dope to me. She's like they were way off on that. I was like they looked like they nailed it. Everything looks good to me. They love you, the best hype man. Well, Giaada.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Giaada, the chef. Her presence on dancing with the stars is causing a lot of problems backstage. You wouldn't think Giazza would be an issue. She's one of my favorite ones from this episode. I used to watch her show all the time. What is her show? Cooking Network. Cooking Network, yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Yeah, me too. Yeah, she just come on after Rachel Ray. Wow, you knew that. I was a big fan of hers, but I didn't like the way they shot her show. It was like too soft, you know. It was all like, it's all like, it's all like a filter over everything. And it was all the, like, pastel colors. And the way she talks was just too, like, very like whispery for me.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Yeah, I didn't have me. Who whispery? Yeah. What kind of food they cook? Okay. A lot of Italian food. Why do you have a lot of questions? I'm curious.
Starting point is 00:14:53 I'm glad you have questions. I have stories, too. I thought I was going to be annoyed by her on the dance, on the dance with the stars, but then she actually wouldn't me. over. Oh, really? Yeah. Okay. Well, then maybe you'll have a strong opinion here with her backstage presence at Dancing with the Stars. But first, there's hope for our future. We get to be Toys R Us kids again. Nostalgia is really having a moment. 90s are back. Do you roll your eyes at me, Victoria.
Starting point is 00:15:18 I'm not rolling my eye. Because you weren't a Toys R Us kid, were you? Yeah, I was. Okay. I'm toys. Well, there are 120 new standalone stores that are about to open. Do you remember when it went away? Was it Joffrey? Jeffrey? Jeffrey, Jeffrey. Sure. Anyway, they filed for bankruptcy back in the day, and then they all went away, and it was just so sad. It just felt like toy stores are going away.
Starting point is 00:15:41 What are you supposed to do? But now there's a resurgence of them, and there's a demand for them, too. So at the stores, you're going to be able to buy different collectibles and, of course, gifts ahead of the season. But it's just exciting to know that that experience is back and that kids can have that experience because I have so many memories. I remember my grandmother. My grandmother would take us, me and my cousins, and we could all pick one toy. I remember I always wanted to go to one.
Starting point is 00:16:05 Yeah. It was amazing. No. Wait, we didn't take your boy toys or not you. But I always wanted to. Did they have them in L.A.? Yeah, they did. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:12 I just, my parents wouldn't take new toys away. I get it. It wasn't my parents either with my grandma. Yeah. I got hand me down toys from people who did get their toys or toys or us, though. But it's not the same as walking up and down the aisles. I think you'd really enjoy it right now. I think he realizes it's not the same.
Starting point is 00:16:28 No, but I think that you would actually like it now, too. So I think that's a good idea. I think we take him to Toys R Us because I also want to look, you get Scrabble. Jubel's first Toys R Us trip. Oh, I love it. Dude. You can make it like my childhood. I'll ask for something and you just tell me no.
Starting point is 00:16:43 And to be quiet. And I'll be like, man, this brings me back. That's so sad. It's so sad. Well, there's new studies out there now that have a new way to show us how to spot fake news. And you know what it is? Having conversations with people.
Starting point is 00:17:03 I'm like literally just looking it up. Seriously. They did a study that was how to actually like get people to understand that the headline and the story that they were reading was most likely fake and it was just actually talking to somebody about it after you do it. And when I read the story, it was like, you know what? We kind of do that every week when we do real or fake on Thursdays because we talk through these headlines and maybe sometimes we're able to come to the conclusion that it's fake news. Behind the scenes, I have this conversation several times a week with my mother.
Starting point is 00:17:32 Wait, what? I love my mother. Yeah, I love my mother. But she is online more than she's ever been in her life on the social media apps and everything. And I'll see her repost things or have conversations with chat with bots on threads. And I have to constantly like be, mom, look, look, you know, there's a, there's a bot. That's a bot. That's a bot. That's an AI.
Starting point is 00:17:51 That's not a real dog, you know, doing backflips or whatever. What an interesting time. What interesting conversation. we get to have these days. Does she believe you when you tell her that? Yeah, she does. She does. She says, oh my God, how do you know?
Starting point is 00:18:04 And then I tell her the obvious thing is the dog has three legs. And then she goes, oh, okay. That makes sense. Yeah, and then she makes sense. And then she reels it back. And then about three days later, she's doing something else like talking to a pot somewhere. And I see it. Let her live.
Starting point is 00:18:17 No, I mean. He's got to let her live. Yeah, but at the same time, you know, she's definitely in the target demo of being taken advantage of. So I worry about the financial, you know, her protecting her. Yeah. Yeah. Well, tell her about this study.
Starting point is 00:18:29 She's going to be sending Lionel Messi thousands of dollars. Exactly. Exactly. We try to get her up on Facebook. And then she can't get on a plane to come visit me because she has no money. I don't want that to happen. Hey, man, you should take care of the dog.
Starting point is 00:18:42 Let her live your life. Should it be one for the peat ball of the dogs? And lastly, Giata de Laurentis or Laurentis is a problem backstage on Dancing with the Stars. Because her presence brings her boyfriend. Her boyfriend happens to be a TV producer named Shane Farley. So apparently he's been backstage giving strong opinions on how he believes the show should be run.
Starting point is 00:19:05 So they've characterized him as a control freak who thinks he knows television better than anybody else that's already working on dancing with the stars. And so he's back there and they're like, great. That would be so annoying if you're the producer of the show and then this guy's there like, maybe he's produced a lot of things. Sure, but you don't produce this show. So shut up. Like, it would be so annoying. That's got to be a tough situation or like scenario for Giaata too. Because she probably knows that he's overstepping.
Starting point is 00:19:31 But she wants to be supportive of him. Because your partner ever done that, like blocked you. And I just thought about that immediately. I was like, I would not like that. It's messy. So it's not Giatta's fault. It's her man. But also you're coming as a guest, homie.
Starting point is 00:19:45 Like, don't you know to shut up? Play your position? I mean, especially backstage and other contestants. Also, yeah, don't you want your girlfriend to win? Keep it up. and somehow she'll get voted off. I know. Very quickly.
Starting point is 00:19:58 Not saying that these shows are rigged. Of course not. Relationships matter. Of course not. So that is what's trending. The long loading times. The glitchy video calls. That's your house asking for better internet.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Switch to Bell Pure Fiber, Canada's most reliable internet awarded by Open Signal from $75 a month. Price guaranteed for two years on a two-year term and auto pay credit. Visit bell.com. more details and to check availability.

Starting point is 00:21:12 Don't Lie to Me. I'm Lexi Youan. We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa DiGulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all.
Starting point is 00:21:27 I'm not going to get any of her fighting. That is wild. I learned that about you today. Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business. And I've always got something to say. If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world. We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser. We're best friends, but we don't always agree. Because you told us how accommodating you are.
Starting point is 00:21:56 Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight. I can fight. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Liar.
Starting point is 00:22:08 Listen on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I don't really care. Hi, this is Kylie Breakman. Angel Geratana. Jeremy Colhane. Patrick McDonald. And we're the hosts of the Artists on Artists on Artists on Artists Podcast.
Starting point is 00:22:24 The Improvised Character Comedy Podcast where each week a new panel of artists discuss their craft. Join us for a panel of wellness influencers. What I try to do is faux journal. I don't know. Have you guys heard of faux journaling? Yeah, it's reading. It's called reading.
Starting point is 00:22:39 So we don't like to use that word anymore. Okay. A panel of New Yorker cartoonists. Have you guys done Terry Gross's Peloton class? No! I've been dying too. I'm so sorry. I'm seeing a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore.
Starting point is 00:22:57 That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland Bookstore. yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30. No way. You have to come to the last bookstore, though. Kim Cottrell is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday. A panel of Eurovision participants. And we do a little Halloween sometimes.
Starting point is 00:23:15 Does the Pope dress up? He winks on Halloween. He gets right up next to the microphone. I hear you can almost hear the eyelashes hit each other. You never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to artists. on artists, on artists, on artists, on artists, on the IHeard Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Middle School is a different world than the one we grew up in. I'm Dr. Joy, and this is Therapy for Black Girls. We spend real time on it in our surviving middle school run, bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now. So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological and psychological chaos happening all this same time. We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying, and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust. There's belonging. You could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted.
Starting point is 00:25:17 And then there's fitting in. Spitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid rejection. Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers. sitting down with therapist Keir Gaines on Black fatherhood and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage. You don't have on shorts so you can't do flips,
Starting point is 00:25:33 you have on the dressy up across your legs. That's the range of this run, from screen time to identity to the father's doing the work at home. We have to get off her device, but the reality is there's a lot of life out there that we don't want you as your adults in their lives to miss out on.
Starting point is 00:25:48 This has been our surviving middle school run. Brought to you by the people who spend their careers thinking about exactly this. I'm Dr. Joy. Self Care September is here, which means it's time to rethink what self-care actually means. Yes, self-care can be a long walk.
Starting point is 00:26:09 It can be in everything shower. It can be putting your phone on Do Not Disturb. But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff. And understanding your patterns, your boundaries, finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again. I'm Gemma Spag, the host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast, and each week we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s, from relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment, just becoming more comfortable with who you are. Unlike the quarter life crisis, which is depicted as the collapse, the quarter life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something. When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take that from you.
Starting point is 00:26:51 So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself. Get to know yourself as well. Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Kelsey is on the phone today for To Catch a Cheater, and she thinks that her boyfriend of 11 months might be messing around. Oh no, already? Not even a year yet, but we'll see if we can help her out. Hopefully he's not, but Kelsey, why do you think your boyfriend's cheating? My boyfriend went from making fun of Taylor Swift to knowing enough about Taylor Swift.
Starting point is 00:27:21 that I think he's sleeping with a Swifty. Oh. There's no way he would just like it on his own. Oh, definitely not. Okay. Erin has spent our entire relationship making fun of me because I'm a huge fan. Oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:40 He couldn't even name three songs a few months ago. Okay. And now he knows all about Taylor Swift? Everything. He knows the albums, the song titles, tour trivia. everything whoa that's pretty hardcore can you be doing it for you like trying to connect i don't think so i mean i even caught him humming a song that he previously claimed he hated wow so he like really is all into yeah he just jumped in the deep end on the taylor swift cell phone what i asked him where like all
Starting point is 00:28:10 of this taylor swift knowledge was coming from he said social media okay i mean that could be it I feel. But his algorithm would have had to really be tailored up. You know what I'm saying? You have to be looking up a lot of Taylor Swift stuff. Yeah. Like something must have happened for her to drop in like that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:28:30 Has anything else weird been happening other than him singing Taylor Swift songs? Well, he's suddenly unavailable a couple nights a week. And he started putting far more effort into his clothes on those nights. Okay. How do you know he's putting more effort to his clothes those nights? If he's unavailable, like. Following him? No, no, I'm not crazy.
Starting point is 00:28:54 We FaceTime. Okay. Oh, that's cute. So I'll see what he's wearing, you know. But he must be FaceTiming me either before or after he's into something. There has to be someone teaching him this stuff. I just don't know him. Okay.
Starting point is 00:29:08 So you're convinced that he's messing around with a Swifty. Oh, man. Absolutely. It's very unswifty like to be a cheer. Right in the middle of today's brand new to catch a cheater. And if you're just joining us, Kelsey, is on the phone and she thinks that her boyfriend of 11 months might be messing around. So we'll see if we can help her out.
Starting point is 00:29:26 We're about to call him and pretend to be from the grocery store that he's a rewards card member at and tell him that he's this month's lucky winner of free flowers delivered from our Florida department. And we'll see if he sends those to his girlfriend, Kelsey, or to somebody else. Before we do that, though, Kelsey, why do you think he's cheating again? I think he's cheating because all of a sudden he's unavailable a few nights a week. and he has become the biggest Swifty after having made son of me being a Swifty for the last 11 months. So you think that he's learning all about Taylor Swift for some new girl that he's been messing around with?
Starting point is 00:30:00 He has to be. And I don't know why he'd learn it for her and not me, but. Oh, yeah. All right. Well, let's hope you're not right. And maybe there's another reason. But we're going to call him right now. Here we go. Hi, this is Corbel calling from Grocer's.
Starting point is 00:30:18 I was looking for our rewards card. remember named Aaron. Oh, hey, that's me. Yeah. Hi, Aaron. Please don't hang up. This is not a marketing phone call. I'm actually calling with a big congratulations. You're this month's winner. Thank you so much for your business. Oh, cool. What did I win? Maybe you haven't seen the signage in the store. I don't know. But anyway, every single month, we choose one rewards card member who gets free flowers delivered from our Florida department. Absolutely free. You've just won 36 long stem red roses, a box of candy or chocolate and a card to be delivered to anybody that you,
Starting point is 00:30:49 want. It's a $316 value, actually. It's just our way of saying thank you very much for shopping with us. Okay, cool. That's awesome. Okay. Yeah, thank you. No problem. And it's very simple how it works. I can take the information down over the phone in just a few minutes if you already know how you want to send them to and you'll get confirmations on everything before we're even done. Okay, cool. Yeah. Yeah, I do know who I want to send them to, yeah. Oh, great. Then the first thing I would need be the first and last name. And then if you want to put anything on a card and after that, we'll get the address and that's it. Okay. The name is Madison. Madison. Got it? Okay.
Starting point is 00:31:27 Yeah. Yeah, Madison. Is there anything, would you like to include a card? Oh, yeah. Yeah. Can I, let me say, Madison, for the record, I finally listened to the bridge. You were right. Don't tell anyone I said that. A. Okay. Got it. The bridge. Great. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:31:50 Got that down here. And then get to the address in just a second. But first, I'll let you know that this is actually a radio show. And it's called The Jubal Show. Yeah, man. This is Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria. And my name is Jubal.
Starting point is 00:32:02 How are you? I'm good. What is this exactly then? I don't understand. Segment on the show. This is called To Catch a Cheater where if you think your significant other is messing around, you see where they send flowers to. So your girlfriend, Kelsey, is actually on the phone and thought that you
Starting point is 00:32:19 might be messing around something. No, no. Madison from my office. Oh. What? Kelsey, is that you? Madison has been telling me about some guy she's been seeing for months and it's been you this whole time.
Starting point is 00:32:38 Oh, wow. I don't know that would me. That could have been someone else. No, I don't know that that was me. I know she's dating people. I was just, we were just, you know, we're friends. We're just talking. Like, she might have a boyfriend.
Starting point is 00:32:56 What the fuck, Aaron? You've been talking to her? Okay, so are you friends or are you seeing her? Are you the situation ship? I didn't even know you ever spoke to her. And now you're sending her followers? That would be weird. Yeah, that is weird, Aaron.
Starting point is 00:33:11 Very. I mean, hold, okay. Just like, can I please explain myself? Let me just explain, okay? I would love to hear your explanation there. So you know that meeting that you had when I was waiting outside for you for almost like three hours. And we didn't know how long it would be. And then, you know, I went and got you lunch.
Starting point is 00:33:35 Remember that? It was like three months ago. Three months ago. I mean, I think it was, I think what it could have been like more like two months in a week or maybe I don't know. But it was a while ago. Are you fucking kidding me? Okay. Well, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:52 Sorry, it's not important, but Madison was there. She came out and she and I started just chatting, you know, casually and would just kind of talk that whole time that you were gone. And then she went with me to get you lunch and stuff. Oh, great. So, okay. So you've been messing around with her coworker Madison. No, no, no, no, no. We've just been hanging out.
Starting point is 00:34:15 We've just been chatting, you know. I mean, we might have hung out once or twice, you know, I don't know, maybe a few, few times. but we but it's not like that like few times Aaron I know exactly how many times because I have helped her set up all of those dates I have helped her craft those messages to you Kelf but we don't know that it was me
Starting point is 00:34:39 I mean I told you I was just hanging out with her like she she could be seeing other people this could be other people she's she's talking to your mouth like you're hanging out with a girl that you haven't told your girlfriend that you're hanging out with her That part. Yeah, because it doesn't really, it's not like a thing. It's just like we just met casually and we talk and hang out. And it's just, it's not.
Starting point is 00:35:00 Let me guess. She is the reason that you've been humming Taylor Swift songs under your breath. She's the reason you all of a sudden know tour trivia? Well, well, I mean, I mean, I told her because she knows Taylor Swift so well that we, she could teach me about. Taylor for you so that I would know more for you. She's been my coach. She's been my Taylor coach. Okay, so now she's a Taylor Swift coach.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Not a Taylor Tudor. Well, yeah. Wow. Got it. She's like a tutor. I mean, I can't help it if she dropped her earrings in my car. That's so dumb. We're not dumb.
Starting point is 00:35:38 Dropped her earrings. Erin, no girl takes their earrings off in someone else's car. And no one tutors Taylor Swift trivia. Congratulations. Eric, you have won a medal for the best lie. Seriously. Aaron, I'm done.
Starting point is 00:35:58 I am done. I have been suspecting this and now to learn that I'm the one that has been helping my friend and co-worker hang out with, if you want to call it that, my boyfriend, I'm done. I am done. No, baby, please. Congratulations. No, come on, baby. Enjoy the Taylor Swift concert, Aaron. I should probably want Madison, right?
Starting point is 00:36:23 What? What? Does Madison know Kelsey's your girlfriend? No, no. I just feel bad. She doesn't. She doesn't. She doesn't?
Starting point is 00:36:33 She doesn't know that you shouldn't know that Kelsey's your girlfriend? I don't think so. Weird. Because I thought you said that she was coaching you for Kelsey in the test. Oh. Aaron, you can just off. This is exactly what I thought. You're sitting here
Starting point is 00:36:55 telling us that she doesn't know that I'm your girlfriend and that she's also helping you learn about Taylor Swift so that you can be with me. Are you fucking serious right now? God, I'm so fucking done with you, Aaron. Yeah, I should probably
Starting point is 00:37:11 go, you guys. Yeah. Look up idiots in the dictionary. You know what you'll find? Picture me? No. The definition of the word idiot, which you It's time for America's favorite trivia game. You versus Victoria. Your chance to take on.

Starting point is 00:37:57 and you just can't get it out and you're like... Is it really a cough before it's birth? Yes. Okay. It's just sitting there. Hello. Jack did not sign up for this. Sorry, Jack.
Starting point is 00:38:07 Now that I've coughed, we can send Victoria out of the studio. While Victoria is leaving Jack, the game is played like this. You have 30 seconds to answer as many questions as possible. If you don't know one, just say pass.
Starting point is 00:38:19 And Victoria has to be you outright to win, okay? Okay. All right, here we go. Your time starts now. What does the zip in zip code stand for? Fast. Which U.S. state produces the most pumpkins?

Starting point is 00:40:05 Potato. Wait, what? I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Potato mill? Yeah, I was in Ohio. I don't know what I was thinking of right now.

Starting point is 00:40:40 Victoria had none. I know I did one. And Jack got two. Hey, Jack, congratulations. You beat Victoria. You did it. How? I don't know.

Starting point is 00:41:22 It should have been Dr. Pepper. Get it, doctor. And it is a grand slam when a batter hits a home run with the bases loaded. I knew that one. We didn't get there. You don't want to tell me that a little sooner? Bumped that one up to the front part of the list.

Yeah, Victoria calls everybody back for the dirty little secrets and the amount of times she spends on the phone and nobody answers or people answer and go, I didn't put my name in. It's ridiculous. Starting point is 00:42:50 Those get you every time now. I see so many of them. Why? Just go to the jubel show.com. Madison is on the phone today for a first date follow up, and she's going. getting ghosted by a guy named Daniel that she really likes. So in a few minutes, we'll call him and see if you'll tell us why he's ghosting her and maybe get her another date. But first, Madison, how long has it been since you heard from Daniel?
Starting point is 00:43:09 It's been a week. A week. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Have you tried to reach out to him in the week? I have. I am.
Starting point is 00:43:17 I texted. And so we met at the gym. And I've been hitting the gym. Same time we always did. And he's not been there. And I finally asked one of my girls at the desk. I was like, hey. And she's like, yeah, he's been coming in real early lately.
Starting point is 00:43:36 I just don't get it. Like, do you think it's to avoid you? It's got to be, right? Like, and I don't understand why because like we met there obviously, right? And he was so hot. I was like, so I did the thing. I was like, hey, do you know how like, can you help me with my form? So he came over and we started working out together.
Starting point is 00:43:58 And then he finally asked me if I wanted to go out like outside the gym and I was like, yes, he went all out. It was an amazing night, took me to this rooftop place. It was beautiful like oyster champagne the whole night. Wow. Yeah. Like superviving everything. It was just unreal.
Starting point is 00:44:23 I've never, never had it like that with a dude before. So we moved from the table to the bar and were thrown back cocktails and getting handsy. And I mean, it was, it was the night. And then we were trying to figure out like neither one of us wanted to leave. And he finally was like, hey, you want to go back to my place? And I was, I was glad he asked because I was about to ask. Okay. But yeah, I'm not usually like that, but like, oh my gosh, the everything.
Starting point is 00:44:58 Everything was just perfect this night. We hooked up. So that's why I'm so. I'm like, what, what happened? I texted him. I had to leave. After he fell asleep. So how was, so he was super into it too.
Starting point is 00:45:15 Did anything weird happen on the date? Like that would have made it awkward or would have changed anything? The only thing I can think of is like, you know, I threw my phone on a floor when we got into his bedroom. And it was kind of like on the side where he was. And after midnight, I got this like, I got a reminder, like a calendar reminder. And it's a date with Chris. Okay.
Starting point is 00:45:41 And I was like, I was like, oh, that's not, you know, he picked it up. And I know he saw it. And I was like, oh, I canceled that, you know. And then we got right back to things. And that's the only thing I can think of. Like, I've been racking my brain. I really love to see him. again. Like, who would I love to see him again?
Starting point is 00:46:02 Okay. Madison, why don't you refresh our memory on your date? Yeah. Um, Daniel, I met at the gym. Uh, we were like getting along super well. He playing this like amazing night for us, uh, oyster champagne. We hooked up multiple times sent him a hot text after I left and I haven't heard from him since. Okay. You ready for us to call him? I am. All right, here we go. Hi, man, speak to Daniel, please.
Starting point is 00:46:37 This is him. Hey, Daniel, how are you? My name is Jubal. I'm calling from a radio show. It's called The Jubal Show. Hi, Daniel. I'm Nina, also on the show. Hi, and I'm Victoria.
Starting point is 00:46:45 Cool. Have you ever listened to The Jubal Show before? I've heard of you guys, I think a couple times, but yeah, I don't listen to you all the time. Okay. I'm calling you today because one of our listeners actually emailed us about you. Okay. So we do a segment on the show. It's called the First Date Follow-up.
Starting point is 00:47:01 That's where if you go out on a day, date with somebody and then you ghost them, that person can email us to call you and ask why you're ghosting them. All right. So we got an email about you from somebody. That's pretty weird. Are you ghosting anybody? I don't know what classifies is ghosting, but is her name Madison by chance?
Starting point is 00:47:24 Yes, it is. Wow, that's hilarious. She'd be calling you guys. What? Okay. Why? Hi. Uh, she's a cheater, to say the least.
Starting point is 00:47:34 Oh, what? Yeah. Um, she was over my house, her little phone dinged off and it said, date with Chris or whatever. She told me it was some other guy she was dating and she was going to cancel it or something like that. And when she left, I went on her social media accounts and looked up if she was seeing somebody. Yeah, she's married to a dude named Chris. Wow.
Starting point is 00:47:56 That date, yeah, that was with her husband. She's married. I'm not really about. that kind of thing. So I don't know why she's calling that. That's kind of hilarious. Okay. Yeah, I mean, I guess that would be reason to go somebody
Starting point is 00:48:07 if you find out they're married. Yeah, unless she's in an open relationship. Oh. Oh, that's, well, you would tell me about that, right? Shouldn't I be aware of that? So I'm not this side piece. Look, I've been cheated on before. I'm not really about that kind of life.
Starting point is 00:48:22 I don't like women who cheat on their men. And yeah, that's kind of where I'm at on the whole situation. She should have told me if I'm some kind of like weird piece, and their, you know, triangle relationship, I should have been aware of that. Okay. Well, thanks for telling us. I'll also tell you that Madison is on the phone and wants to talk to you. She's been listening.
Starting point is 00:48:43 Okay. Why would you go on my social media and big? Everything was great. You're being pretty sloppy about the whole thing. Like, you're lucky I didn't just text message, Chris, and just let them know what the hell's going on or send him a message on whatever. I mean, that's pretty sloppy on your part. You know what you didn't even tell me what was going on.
Starting point is 00:49:05 I should have probably known, right? Why are you bringing Chris into this? He doesn't need to know any of this. Oh, so you are married. So you were cheating. I'm not cheating. I'm enjoying my life. Like, why do it tell me you didn't have an amazing night.
Starting point is 00:49:29 I okay that is completely not the damn point does your husband know you're out here bang other dudes why does that matter like it's not about man this is about you and me well when you're seeing somebody you care about their integrity and their willingness to just turn around and screw on somebody is it completely that that shows who they are in the inside you know what I'm saying so yeah that that's why that's why it's important you're You're getting so deep. Like, I'm not trying to, like, have you pay my bills. I just want to hook up.
Starting point is 00:50:04 Like, that, I thought that's what we were doing. There's another guy on the end of this, and I've been that other guy before, and I don't want to hurt somebody like that. And if I'm participating in it, then I'm equally a part of it. And I'm not going to do that. That's what I'm trying to say. How's he going to hurt if he doesn't know? Nothing to do with this.
Starting point is 00:50:32 Like, this is an A-B situation, not like... I'll ask the question. Daniel, would you like to go out with Madison again on another date? We'll pay for it. No, I think she's nuts. Absolutely not. We're good. We hung out together one time, did a few squat.
Starting point is 00:50:50 That's it. Let's call it. We're good. We're good. Yeah, that's it. Sorry, Madison. You don't get another date there. I guess at least now I know.
Starting point is 00:51:01 Snap-soaked your husband, Madison. But, like, can we still, like, work out together? No. The long loading times. The glitchy video calls. I'm not going to get anyone fighting. That is wild. I learned that about you today. Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business. And I've always got something to say. If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world.
Starting point is 00:52:53 We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser. We're best friends, but we don't always agree. Because you told us how accommodating you are. Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me.
Starting point is 00:53:12 Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Liar. Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. I don't really care. I'm Lacey Mosley, author, actor, stand-up comedian, creator, and host of Scam Goddess Podcast. The True Crime Comedy Podcasts,

I'm seeing a, uh, a, uh, a, uh, a, uh, a, uh, a, a reading of Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Audra McDonald's at the Wonderland Bookstore on 14th.
Starting point is 00:55:05 That's crazy. I went to the Wonderland Bookstore yesterday and I heard Nora Jones do a reading of Zero Dark 30. No way. You have to come to the last bookstore though. Kim Cottrell is reading the guitar tabs of yesterday. A panel of Eurovision participants. And we do a little Halloween sometimes. Does the Pope dress up? He winks on Halloween. He gets right up next to the microphone. I hear you can almost hear the eye. eyelashes hit each other.
Starting point is 00:55:31 You never seen Italy so quiet as when the Pope gets up to wink on Halloween. Listen to artists on artists on artists on artists on artists on the IHeard radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. By age 11 or so, at least 70% have a phone. Middle school is a different world than the one we grew up in. I'm Dr. Joy, and this is therapy for black girls. We spend real time on it in our surviving middle school run, bringing in a child psychologist and a psychiatrist who's raising two black girls.
Starting point is 00:55:59 girls of his own to talk about what's really going on with our kids right now. So it's literally physiological and neurological and psychological and psychological chaos happening all at the same time. We got into group chats and gaming, friendships and bullying, and how to tell the difference between healthy monitoring and the kind of surveillance that erodes trust. There's belonging. You could think of belonging as I can be myself and I can still be accepted. And then there's fitting in.
Starting point is 00:56:26 Spitting in says I have to change who I am in order to avoid. rejection. Then we turn the conversation toward the fathers, sitting down with therapists Keir Gaines on Black fatherhood and what it means to raise a daughter through this stage. You don't have on shorts, so you can't do flips, you have on the dressy, up across your legs. That's the range of this run, from screen time to identity to the father's doing the work at home. We have to get off her device, but the reality is there's a lot of life out there that we don't want you as your adults in their life to miss out on. This has been our surviving middle school run, brought to you by the people who spend
Starting point is 00:56:59 careers thinking about exactly this. I'm Dr. Joy. Listen to Therapy for Black Girls on the Iheart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Self Care September is here, which means it's time to rethink what self-care actually means. Yes, self-care can be a long walk. It can be in everything shower. It can be putting your phone on Do Not Disturb. But sometimes it's actually about sitting with the uncomfortable stuff and understanding your patterns, your boundaries, finally figuring out while you keep doing things that you swore you would never do again. I'm Gemma Spag, the host of the Psychology of Your 20s podcast, and each week we unpack the psychology behind the experiences that shape your 20s,
Starting point is 00:57:39 from relationships and friendships to money, anxiety, confidence, attachment, just becoming more comfortable with who you are. Unlike the quarter life crisis, which is depicted as the collapse, the quarter life reinvention is the expansion and growth of something. When we develop the ability to be happy by ourselves, nobody else can take that from you. So this self-care September, don't just take care of yourself. Get to know yourself as well. Listen to the psychology of your 20s on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:58:10 Do you know this feeling? You're ready to get out there and date. And in your mind, you picture the wonderful world of dating like it's Disneyland. Sunny skies, delicious funnel cakes everywhere, wild rides with stunning scenery. And then you show up to dating land and it's more like a broken down traveling carnival Where there's only one ride that's open and it's a tilt-a-world that has a three-legged horse ching to it for some reason Somebody's screaming inside of a porta potty and the guy operating the ride has an ankle monitor and keeps falling asleep And when you enter there's a huge sign that reads we are not responsible for what happens to you here
Starting point is 00:58:47 That's actually dating and it can be terrible that apparently now there's something even worse. Oh, great. Apparently dating has become so expensive that falling in love now requires a financial advisor. A new survey found that people are actually going into debt trying to maintain their dating life because it's so expensive. And some people have just stopped dating in general because it's so expensive. Wow. I mean, I have been asked about my finances on a first day before.
Starting point is 00:59:17 Well, yeah. Wow, this is getting pretty serious. But he's saying, like, people are going into financial debt just to be. to be on the date. That's why people are going on more free dates. That's why walks are turning into actual dates now. Dude, I like, I tell, and this is not the best thing to tell a guy, but I'm like, I'm kind of like a dog.
Starting point is 00:59:31 Like, I like to go for a walker. Probably don't say it like that. Well, I didn't mind about what it's saying. Your wordplay is a little off there. Don't say that. I love nature. I like to be in nature. I'm kind of like a dog.
Starting point is 00:59:43 We're just like, take me for a walk. Like, I want to go for a walk. I don't want to go to dinner. I don't have an awkward, like, sitting across from you being like, are you going to say something? Am I going to say something? What's going to happen? Take me for a walk and rub my belly.
Starting point is 00:59:53 And feed me a bone. You know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? No? No. Stop, freeze. Dating is already hard enough just trying to go out with the people that are available to date. And now people are actually going into debt.
Starting point is 01:00:06 Another 2026 survey calculated the average date costs $189. That is insane. But it's true. Yeah. I just went on a date last weekend. And I, like, honestly, I don't even know because I got. Combed. Shots up. You got comp,
Starting point is 01:00:21 production rates? Okay, that's nice. So I put it towards the tip, but if it would have been charged, I'm guessing that the bill probably would have been between $150 and $200. Okay, yeah. It's got to be expensive. Yeah. Dude, heck yeah, I went on a date also last week. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:00:36 Good job. Good job, God. And how did they go? How to go after? Yeah, for real. I think I'm, I'm, I'm trying to be an adult and not ghost his man, but everyone in this room is saying that. You don't have, you can ghost somebody.
Starting point is 01:00:48 You don't have, like, just ghosting. somebody doesn't make you not an adult. Especially for one date. You're at the point where he texted you on Friday. It's Tuesday. Or like however many days it's been, you haven't texted him back. Yeah, Victoria, I think you're fine to ghost. I can ghost. I feel kind of
Starting point is 01:01:04 bad, but I'm also like, ah. It's not like you guys have been going out for a while. I think that you get to a certain point where then it's rude if you ghost somebody. Like, I don't know if you've been together a few years you live together. Probably don't ghost them. No, yeah, don't do that. That can set up abandonment issues. But after one date, I think you're fine.
Starting point is 01:01:19 Mr. Freeze, how did it go after your date? I thought, okay, I went out on Saturday night, and then on Sunday, I didn't text as frequently as I had, I guess, prior to that. So this is the day after the date. The day after the date. But you still text on Sunday? On Sunday, yeah. Like, because I was trying to find football, and we had talked about football. She liked football.
Starting point is 01:01:38 And so I had asked her, you know, it's hard for me to watch the sports teams that I like because they're out of town. So I was like, I need to get a package, an NFL package or whatever. And she was like, oh, here's some links to get it on. That's nice. But I didn't think anything of it. And then later on that day, at the end of the day, I was like, I hope you had a good day. And I text her. I said, I hope you had a good day.
Starting point is 01:01:59 You know, I watched football all day or whatever. And she was like, yeah, you know, things feel off. That's after a day. Yeah. After one day. Yeah. She's like, things feel off. And I'm like, okay.
Starting point is 01:02:10 I know I didn't text very often, but like. Right. Was it off? Like, was she right? I mean, probably. Probably. Okay. So you were you not feeling it?
Starting point is 01:02:21 What happened? You guys really put me on the spot right now. No, no, he wasn't feeling it. So I guess she was technically right. It was you were not like filling it after. Yeah, it just, it felt like I'm kind of a slow burn. I'm the kind of guy like I want to grow to know you and get to know you and have it, you know, gradually get there. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:39 I felt like that kind of just went a little too. The demands, especially on Sunday when she was like that, it was like there was demands being made that felt a little bit like pressure to me. That's kind of. old, no? Like after a first date, like, and I'm queen of conversation and I will call you out if things are getting weird. Yeah. But after one date to even call you out on that energy,
Starting point is 01:02:59 it's almost like you have to let it breathe for a little while before you're just like, you're not talking to me the right way. It felt like I needed pressure that got added to the whole situation that was essentially a big turnoff to me. It's a bummer because you know that's her issues. And it happens all the time with me because women just love me. Wow. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I'm
Starting point is 01:03:19 I'm kidding. Producer Freeze got the girls going crazy. Make sure you get in that DM. But like, what if you do have, I don't know, if you're busy. Like, well, that's the other thing is I was busy. I had things, I had a tragedy happen in my life where a friend of mine was killed. And I was dealing with that the whole latter half of Sunday. And, you know, I even brought that up in the text message.
Starting point is 01:03:38 And she was sympathetic to it, but she still had this attitude. I was surprised. I responded to see, that's why you should have texted me. I could come over and comfort you. Quit running from love, producer freeze. Yeah, so unavailable. I have the best night of my life with you. My bad.
Starting point is 01:03:53 Give us three minutes and we'll give you everything you need to know for the day. It's time for Nina's what's trending. There is a former NBA player with an incredible resume. Because not only does he have NBA player, actor, he can now say FBI agent. Oh, that's dope. I'll tell you who is now not only a baller, but an FBI agent in just a second. But first, Taylor Swift is adding another to her collection as well. adding a what to her collection
Starting point is 01:04:19 Another like great thing Like you know like another like Her resume album Oh my bad my bad my bad An honor An honor it's a celebration So CBS and MTV announced That she is going to be receiving
Starting point is 01:04:33 The very first artist director honors At the MTV Video Music Awards It's happening on September 27th That's this weekend already right So the new award recognizes groundbreaking music artists Who do work behind the camera as well as in front of the camera and basically have vision.
Starting point is 01:04:50 So that's going to be cool. She's the first one to get that. And if you didn't know, the VMAs are hosted by Snoop Dog, which is hysterical. So that should be pretty fun to watch. And then they're also experimenting with fan voted social categories. So you'll be able to vote on your favorite social artists and stuff like that that you've seen around. Yeah, trying to make it interactive. So that is this weekend if you're into it.
Starting point is 01:05:12 Oh, and also Madonna is making a huge comeback. Madonna? Madonna? Yeah. She's opening the show. She's got a song with Charlie XEX coming out. And Madonna is also receiving awards. So she's, man, if anybody has kept it going, all of these years, she is definitely one of them.
Starting point is 01:05:27 She is? Yeah. Madonna, she's the queen of pop. Oh, so true. Sorry. I'm trying to think of, like, what? This is music history. Whether you listen to her now or not, it's just like, you know, history.
Starting point is 01:05:39 But keep it going. That's what confused me. But I agree with you. She just released a new song a long ago. Wait, what? Really? Yeah. Stop.
Starting point is 01:05:46 Yeah. And she has a huge band base. So sorry, Madonna. I made the band-a-fiz. I'm with you guys. She's a bad plastic surgeon, though. Okay. She's pretty confident, though.
Starting point is 01:05:56 So we love that for her. This is interesting. Is ATL becoming the new Hollywood? I mean, Atlanta has been a hub for a while and has huge production, you know, venues. What do you call it? Studios there where a lot of TV shows and movies are produced, especially with Tyler Perry Studios.
Starting point is 01:06:12 And the tax breaks of her out there. And the tax breaks. So because of those tax breaks, Some major Hollywood shows are getting out of Hollywood, like American Idol. A lot of shows are leaving. A lot of shows. Shark Tank is another one that's leaving. America's Got Talent, maybe also leaving.
Starting point is 01:06:30 And it is basically because of what Free said, the tax breaks. Because over there, they can receive 20% off for different production expenditures. Another 10% by meeting certain promotional requirements. 30% for other things related to production. I mean, meanwhile, you know, Hollywood still has all of their, like, hands and everything, but it costs so much. All of Paramount might leave. I saw that. Oh, did they say that?
Starting point is 01:06:56 All of Paramount might leave. To go to Georgia? I don't know if they said where they're going to go, but they might be leaving. Yeah. Because they want to acquire Warner Brothers, and I guess the city isn't letting them. So Paramount said if they can't, then they're going to leave. That's great. Because it's also too expensive.
Starting point is 01:07:10 I saw it. But that would cost so much. money that would be so damaging to the economy of Los Angeles. It's great. For them to leave? Yeah, it'd be like 50-something thousand jobs that we lost. Basically, once they leave, Hollywood is gone. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:24 Really? I mean, because of the Paramount Studios and like everything they owe is put together. But aren't there other studios? Like even Amazon Studios is kind of made quite a, you know, a splash. I mean, I don't know if it's like something that would be able to sustain Hollywood by any means. I saw a headline this morning and it said, after threatening to pull out of Paramount out of California, its CEO now has a new plan for the company, so I don't
Starting point is 01:07:47 know what that is, but that was this morning, so maybe they're going to save it, but it's all bad. I mean, Paramount owns, like, Paramount Pictures, CBS, everything they do with, like, Skydance, like, they own so many. If they're out of there, Hollywood is that's so crazy. So now everybody's going to be going to Atlanta. Atlanta, New York, and Chicago are hot spots. You're right.
Starting point is 01:08:09 Texas is now growing also. Because I know a lot of productions also in Chicago because it's deeper. But anyway, so those Hollywood bus tours, man, they're just not going to hit the same, huh? Yeah. No, not at all, yeah. This used to be a studio. This is where this actor used to live. About 20 years ago, Zendaya walked down that street right there. You want to come take a look inside this studio? No, if you want to see her, you've got to go to Austin or something. Oh, man, that's how you really know times are changing.
Starting point is 01:08:36 The only thing is going to be left in Hollywood is influencers. Yeah. Yeah. Who haven't figured out that the industry has moved. And lastly, somebody who knows how to pivot, Shaquille O'Neal. So Shaquille O'Neal is not only a former NBA player. You know, he's an actor. He's done lots of stuff. But he is also now officially an honorary FBI special agent.
Starting point is 01:09:00 I'm sorry, what? He graduated from the FBI National Academy recently. Did you know that he was doing all kinds of stuff with the cops? Yeah, he's been a wannabe cop forever. Forever. Oh, so you guys, this was public knowledge. To me, I had no idea. But I used to go like when he was playing for the Lakers, he would go on ride-alongs with the cops and stuff all the time.
Starting point is 01:09:19 Yeah. Did you imagine that? A seven-footer in a cock-car? Shack buss in your door. That's scary. Surrender, take me. Oh, my gosh, could you imagine him being undercover or like going on a steak out? I don't know how he pulled it off.
Starting point is 01:09:34 There's no way. Yeah. She's shack? He looked like she'd be able to. Nope. Right. I had to crack. Crack.
Starting point is 01:09:45 I think about it. My crack place and do my crack. He did say he's been undercover, though. That's the crazy part. Like, how did that happen? As a couch. Yeah. Come on.
Starting point is 01:09:58 Listen to everything you've been saying. It's not a couch of shack. When he stays checking off those dreams. So good for him. And that is what's trending. Jubles. Dirty Little Secret. Hello?
Starting point is 01:10:14 Hey, hi, this is Katie. Hi, you have a dirty little secret? I do. Sweet, what is it? Yeah, well, recently I found out that my dad was cheating on my mom. Oh. And I was pretty pissed. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:31 So I lashed out. There's been some incidents in the neighborhood lately. Some kids have just been doing some stupid stuff, like stealing stuff and, like, you know, just vandalism and stuff, but, you know, it's kids. So I snuck out in the middle of the night and I slashed my dad's back tires. Oh. Oh. Dang.
Starting point is 01:10:55 Dang. Hmm. Yeah, but it turned out not to really be the justice that I wanted because, like, our family got together since then, like a few days ago. And it turns out that my parents, have an open relationship and he wasn't technically cheating on my mom. Oh. And so there, yeah, and the tires are still flushed.
Starting point is 01:11:23 So, yeah. All right. Well, thank you for telling us your dirty little secret. So many layers. Yeah. Have a good. What's your dirty little secret? Lisa, tell them about our new show.
