Starting point is 00:00:00 This is an IHeart podcast. Guaranteed Human. Hey guys, it's us. The Jonas Brothers. I'm Joe. I'm Kevin. And I'm Nick. And guess what? We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
Starting point is 00:00:12 We invented a podcast? Well, we didn't invent it. We just contributed to it. We're the first people to do podcasts. We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions. Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it. But, you know, tired and sick. Tired and sick.
Starting point is 00:00:28 Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you. you get your podcast. Just listen. We don't care where you hear it. Another podcast from some SNL late night comedy guy, not quite. Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and friends. Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier. This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel. Help an a cappella band with their between songs banter. Where does your group perform? We do some retirement homes. Those people are starving for banter. Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and friends on the ice.
Starting point is 00:01:00 Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Here's something that should not be as complicated as it is, getting a racist statue removed. And here's something that should be a whole lot easier than it is, getting a new one put up in its place. I'm Akela Hughes, and Rebel Spirit Season 2 is about both of those things. As I was watching these statues come down, I was thinking about what it meant that I grew up in a majority black city in which there were more amages to enslavers than there were to enslave people. Listen to Rebel Spirit Season 2 on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Every family has its secrets. But what happens when you discover that your dad has been living a double life?
Starting point is 00:01:42 That is not the look of an innocent man. Is everyone lying to me about who they are? I felt such desperation. I felt it was what I had to do. Listen to deep cover the family man. on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. It's time for your first date, follow up, and Gabe is on the phone today. He's getting ghosted by a woman named Nora.
Starting point is 00:02:10 So in a few minutes, we'll call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date. But first, Gabe, why do you think you're getting ghosted? Well, I'm pretty sure she thinks I have a girlfriend. Oh. Okay. That's probably a big... deal breaker for some people. For sure.
Starting point is 00:02:29 But it's not yet. We were getting to know each other, you know, doing the normal 20 questions, you know, parents, siblings, past relationships. And when she asked about my past relationships, I mentioned my ex, except I accidentally called her my girlfriend. Oh.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Yeah, okay. Yeah, I told her it was an accident that we recently broke up. I haven't talked to her in a while, so it was a bit new. But right after I said that, I could tell that her mood changed. Okay. Oh, yeah. Well, if it's been recent, I think that's also kind of one of those moments that
Starting point is 00:03:03 probably hit her the wrong way, too. Yeah, like how recent? It's been a couple of months. Oh, and how long were you together? We were together for about a year. Okay. I mean, that's, yeah, that's pretty early. Oh, okay. All right. So you think that maybe accidentally calling your ex who you recently broke up with your actual girlfriend might have scared her off yeah i think yeah i think that might have turned her yeah that sounds like it could have been could have been it yeah how are you going to recover from that well i told her i you know i explained that yeah i misspoke it was an accident she's my ex i'm not seeing anybody but i i just had this feeling that that really that really bothered her you think she didn't believe you maybe he thinks that you
Starting point is 00:03:54 do actually I don't, I, maybe that might be it, but okay. I mean, if I had a
Starting point is 00:04:02 girlfriend, I probably shouldn't have brought her up in the first place, you know what I'm saying? That's a very good point, Gabe. You'd be surprised
Starting point is 00:04:09 it happens. It does. All right, well, we'll play a song, come back, and then call her and see if
Starting point is 00:04:14 she'll tell us why she's ghosting you and maybe get you a second date if you still want one, okay? That would be great. Thanks a lot.
Starting point is 00:04:22 Okay. We'll play a song, come back, and get your first date follow up right after this is The Jubal Show. In the middle of your first date follow up, and if you're just joining us, Gabe is on the phone, and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Nora, so we're about to call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him
Starting point is 00:04:37 and maybe get him a second date, but before we do that, Gabe, why don't you recap why you think you're getting ghosted again? Yeah, so we went out on a date, we were asking each other questions, you know, she brought up past relationships, and I accidentally called my ex-es, ex-girlfriend, my girlfriend.
Starting point is 00:04:56 So I think she thinks that I have a girlfriend. And that's not the case. Okay. But I misspoke and I think she took it the wrong way. All right. Well, here we go. I'm going to dial her phone number right now. Hello.
Starting point is 00:05:15 Hi, may I speak to Nora, please. This is she. Hey, Nora, how are you? This is a radio show. It's called The Jubal Show. Hi, Nora. I'm Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria.
Starting point is 00:05:24 And my name is Jubal. How are you? I'm fine. What radio show? What? Yeah, it's called the Jubal Show. Have you ever heard of it? No.
Starting point is 00:05:37 Well, okay. Well, you have now. Yeah, yeah. But it's a radio show and we do a segment on the show that's called your first date follow-up. So that's where if you go out on a date with somebody and you end up getting ghosted, you can email us and we'll call the person that's ghosting you to see if they'll tell us why they're ghosting somebody. Okay. So that would be you that's ghosting somebody, and then we're calling you to see if you'll tell us why you're ghosting somebody.
Starting point is 00:06:05 Oh, okay. I'm talking about a guy named Gabe. Yeah. Okay. Can you, do you mind telling us why you're ghosting Gabe? The whole thing is really bizarre. Okay. I mean, all right.
Starting point is 00:06:20 So the first date. So bizarre. Okay. At first the date was really great. I mean, it was actually amazing. Like, you know. He's interesting. He was confident.
Starting point is 00:06:32 I mean, he was a really good listener. Like, I'm thinking part of the way through this. I'm like, oh, my gosh. I've locked out. Like, this guy's great. And then, all of the sudden, he was weird, awkward. And, like, not confident at all. It was, like, complete jackal and hide.
Starting point is 00:06:50 And then, out of nowhere, he was Mr. Griffin and sexy guy again. I mean, like I said, like the majority of the day went very well. We walked out to the car. And, I mean, like I said, he was sexy. So we started making out. And then halfway through making out, he's like, oh, my God, I forgot my wallet in the restaurant. So he ran into the get it. And then he came out.
Starting point is 00:07:11 And then we started kissing again. But I swear to you, this time, it was like a whole different person. And oh, my God, he couldn't kiss. Well, we can ask him because Gabe is actually on the phone. Yeah. And he wants to talk to you. Oh, my God. Okay.
Starting point is 00:07:28 Well, now I wait by Hi, hi. Hi, Nora. It's Gabe. Hi. Which version is this? Hi. Which one am I talking to?
Starting point is 00:07:42 This is Gabe. I mean, I don't know. Did you know that you were like being like two different people basically? What, like what Nora is saying? Well, I mean. I mean, they're, I mean, I can't really, maybe she did make me a little nervous. Maybe that's why there's a back and forth. I mean.
Starting point is 00:08:07 No, I mean, sorry. Like, I mean, I, like, to say like, to say like you completely make this sort of shift is because I'm attractive is not, is not okay. Like, that's not okay. That's also kind of being like, you didn't see what you saw. I saw what I thought. I felt. No. Okay.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Okay. I'll tell you what you saw. Okay. Okay. I know what I saw, yeah. I know what you saw, but you didn't see what you saw. What? What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:08:41 I'm not in the mood. I have a twin, okay? I have a twin brother, and that's who she was talking to when I was confident and charming. What? Why? because I am not confident and charismatic and suave. And that was my brother Christopher. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Are you kidding me? What? What? Yeah. Well, I would pretend to go to the bathroom and Christopher would come back to the table. What are you? That's kind of ridiculous. I just needed a little help with you, Nora.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Okay? That was it. So you were like switching off, like you'd go to the bathroom? and then your brother would come back and then you guys would switch again. Yeah, and he would tell me what, he would tell me what happened and I would come and then I would try to pick up the conversation. And when I felt that it wasn't going that well again, I'd go back and Christopher would come back. Oh, my God. You cannot have somebody, you can't have your like twin brother run your life for you when you feel like things aren't going okay.
Starting point is 00:09:50 What the hell? Does he do this for you a lot? What about the kiss? This is the first time. I told him how much I really wanted to make a good impression, and he said he would help. And then when he started making out with you, he came back in and he's like, you know, the table is set. You could just go out. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:10:11 What? No, there are, like, there are just so many things that are just wrong with this. First of all, I'm not a piece of meat that you set out on a table, okay? I'm not a thing. I'm a person. Okay? this is ridiculous. This is totally ridiculous.
Starting point is 00:10:29 You know what? And now that I know that you're really confident to not brother is also a bitch. Sorry, no. Is he though? You're trying to help his brother out.
Starting point is 00:10:38 Yeah, he's just trying to help me out. I mean, if we go out again, it'll just be me, I promise. It'll just be. I'll Christopher won't be there. Nora, would you like to go out with Gabe again? We'll pay for it.
Starting point is 00:10:49 No. No, no, no, no. There is absolutely no point zero. zero zero zero zero no i don't want to do you i'm sorry i'm sorry that i did that okay i'm sorry and i'll leave my brother out of it next time i swear how sweet actually you know what wait wait wait wait wait wait a let me think about this let me think about this your brother actually he was okay so you know what you can give him my number he's himself oh jubla's first date follow-up hey guys it's us the Jonas brothers i'm joe i'm kevin and i'm nick and guess what we
