On a recent episode of the podcast, Money and Wealth with John Hobriant, I sit down with Tiffany, the Budget, Budget,
Anista Aliche to talk about what it really takes to take control of your money.
What would that look like in our families if everyone was able to pass on wealth to the people
when they're no longer here?
We break down budgeting, financial discipline, and how to build real wealth, starting with
the mindset shifts.

Grant is on the phone today for a first date follow-up, and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Rosie,
so in a few minutes we'll call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date.
But first, Grant, why do you think you're getting ghosted?
Because I accidentally called her stupid on our date.
Yeah, that would definitely do it.
Why?
How did that happen?
Yeah.
Well, I mean, we were at a chill bar.
Everything was going great.
I mean, good banter, flirting, laughing, you know, the whole thing.
And she started to tell a story about how she got lost driving because she missed a turn.
And she, you know, tried to be playful.
and I responded, wait, that's actually kind of stupid.
Okay.
I'm assuming you didn't like mean it, how it comes off.
No, no.
I mean, I immediately realized how that sounded.
And I tried to recover.
I was like, no, no, no, not you.
Like the situation, the situation is stupid.
Right.
Oh, okay.
You know how much coming back from that.
Yeah, that's a tough one to come back for us.
What did she say?
Yeah.
Oh, man.
Well, I mean, I was like, you know, you're obviously smart.
Like, you seem very aware of roads and directions.
And then she got quiet and, like, gave a polite smile and just sort of changed the subject.
Oh, no.
Okay.
Okay.
Yeah.
And the date was over.
Yeah.
Yeah, was that it?
What did the date end right then and there?
Well, I mean, you know, the rest of the date was good.
Okay.
And, you know, I walked her to a car.
and, you know, we had a small kiss, and then that was that.
Okay.
You kissed after you called her stupid?
It's not totally lost them.
He didn't call her stupid.
It was a situation that was stupid.
What?
Yikes.
I'm just saying, wow, okay, well, then you've recovered somehow.
Or it was a pity kiss.
Oh, those happened.
And she hasn't talked to you at all since the date.
No, no.
So I'm like, oh my gosh, is it really like that little faux pie?
Yeah. Do you think she's too dumb to dial a phone?
Wow.
Is that it?
Double down, baby.
Right in the middle of our first day follow up.
If you're just joining us, Grant is on the phone, and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Rosie.
So we're about to call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him a second date.
But first, Grant, why don't you tell us why you think you're getting ghosted again?
Yeah, because I accidentally called her stupid.
I mean it.
At least you get it.
Like, that's an issue.
To your credit, she was talking about something that happened while she was driving and you meant the situation was stupid, but it came off like you were like legit calling her stupid.
Oh, man.
Right, exactly.
Okay.
So I'm like, oh, man.
All right, well, we'll see if that is the reason.
Here we go.
I'm going to dial her phone number right now.
Hi, man.
Speak to Rosie, please.
Yeah, this is she.
Hey, Rosie.
How are you?
this is the Jubal show.
It's a radio show.
Hi, Rosie.
I'm Nina.
Hi, I'm Victoria.
And my name is Jubal.
What's up?
Hi.
Hi.
Have you ever heard the show before?
No, I haven't.
Sorry.
Okay.
Well, it's a radio show.
You can also check out our podcast wherever you get your podcast.
You know, stream us, all that stuff.
But we do a segment on the show that's called the first date follow up.
And what that is is if you go out on a date with somebody and you end up ghosting them,
that person can email us to get you on the phone and ask why you're ghosting them.
And we got an email about you from somebody.
Oh, okay.
Is there anybody that you're ghosting right now?
Well, I mean, I've definitely been on a few dates recently.
Is it Ben?
Good for you.
No, it is not Ben.
It's somebody else.
Okay.
I'm so sorry.
Adam?
No, but I'd love to know why Adam's getting ghosted,
but he's not the person that we're calling about either.
Where do you find them?
What are you stupid?
What?
We apologize.
Oh, wait.
It was a hint.
Is it the family guy?
What was his name?
Grant?
Is it Grant?
Is that you're talking about?
Yes, it is Grant.
I don't know why you called him the family guy.
But it is Grant.
Well, yeah, I called him that because he brought his sister to our date.
What?
Why?
I don't know.
I don't know.
Like they showed up together, him and his sister?
No, okay.
So the date was fun at first.
It was fine.
He called me stupid ones, but that's like, I mean.
He did tell us about that, yeah.
He said he was talking about, like, the situation.
but it came off like he was calling you stupid.
Yeah, I mean, that's fine.
Like, I can take a little banner.
Like, nobody deal, but that's not the problem.
Out of nowhere, like, during the date, his sister showed up.
And he introduced me to her.
And then he asked her to sit down and eat with us.
Oh, that's awkward.
We don't have to hold that out.
And I was just a little confused because who brings their sister to a first date?
like yeah
really weird
even if I was out
and my sister
was in the same place
somehow
I would still
probably not ask her
to sit down and eat
with the
make eye contact
and do the neck thing
like no
don't come over here
did you have
nice conversation with her
could you see us
the sister
I mean I guess
I kind of felt like
a little bit grilled
by her
like she was very
I don't know
I don't want to be rude
She was kind of nosy, I guess.
Oh.
Is she the older sister?
Yeah, yeah.
And she was like, I just wanted to check up and see how it was going.
Oh, weird.
She just was asking me, like, all this stuff, like, what's your emotional trigger?
You're like, biggest emotional trigger.
Oh, weird.
Quickly, like, should I be worried?
Oh, wow.
On a first date.
Wow.
Thank you for telling us.
I will agree that's a little strange.
And Grant is actually on the phone.
and wants to talk to you.
Yeah.
Oh, okay.
Yeah.
Hey, can I speak now?
Yeah, go for it, Grant.
Like, look, she randomly shut up at the bar and, like, you know, came up and everything
and, you know, said hi.
I mean, it was like, what was I supposed to do, you know?
And, I mean, I, you know, didn't want to be rude, but, I mean, like, you know.
You didn't have to invite her to sit with us,
and she didn't have to stay there for the entire time.
Like, do you not see how that's crazy?
Rosie, I mean, look, I've only gone on one date with you, okay?
And now you're already trying to, like, get in between me and my family?
What?
Like, that's, that's kind of messed up.
Like, what's, jeez.
I shouldn't even be involved with your family, like we went on one date.
There shouldn't even be a chance for me to get in between you and your family.
Like, what?
You want me to cut off my family?
Like, after one date?
I don't think that's what she's saying.
What?
I didn't, I literally never said that.
I just didn't want to, like, meet your sister and get, like, interviewed by her.
Like, is that what you do to everyone you take on a date?
Like, you bring your mom, your sister, your brother, like, am I going to meet your grandma if we go on another date?
I don't understand.
You know, you're being super dramatic here, okay?
I mean, come on.
I just think, like, look, you don't, you know, I just don't need to break up my family, you know?
I mean, you don't have to be so dramatic.
I mean, all right.
Jeez.
All right, yeah, I'm trying to break up your family.
We're not, I've just met you.
Rosie, would you like another opportunity, though?
Would you like another date with Grant?
We'll pay for it.
You know, I'm good.
I think, like, knowing this whole situation, I think you probably just, like,
like take me to a family reunion for the second date.
So he might have a lot of guess.
What if we pay for it?
First of all, my family reunion isn't for two more months.
Oh, okay.
Oh, okay.
My dad, my bad, my dad really want to meet you, okay?
What?
What?
My sister really likes you.
She said a lot of good things.
Come on, Rosie.
You're already in with the family.
Hey.
One more date?
No.
All past.
Thank you.
Dang.
My sister's going to be really pissed.
