So that's why we created The Big Take from Bloomberg Podcasts, to give you the context you need to make sense of it all. Every day in just 15 minutes, we dive into one global business story that matters.
Starting point is 00:01:21 You'll hear from Bloomberg journalists like Matt Levine. A lot of this meme stock stuff is, I think, embarrassing to the SEC. Follow the Big Take podcast on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you listen. The Jubal Show on demand. First day follow-up. You know how you can tell if you're attractive? How? Someone will hit on you when you're running.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Really? Yeah. Well, guess what? No. I'm not attractive then. What I'm saying is if you're super attractive and people can look past your weird gait when you're running, you must be really hot. You should see Jubal try to run back on defense when he's playing basketball at the gym.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Is it bad? Is my back pedal that bad? You're not back pedaling. You're front pedaling. Oh, well, my Is it bad? Is my back pedal that bad? You're not back pedaling. You're front pedaling. Oh, well, my front pedal is worse than my back pedal. I imagine. I love you to death, but it looks like you're putting so much power and effort
Starting point is 00:02:11 into getting back there and hardly going anywhere. I am. Why we're going over this at this point? Trying to do a first aid follow-up, not just completely destroy my confidence. But on the phone right now for a first aid follow-up is Isaac, and Isaac got hit on while running, but now the dude who hit on him is not calling him back. What's up, Isaac?
Starting point is 00:02:30 Hey, how are you guys doing this morning? You're probably better than I am because I just got demolished for how weird I run. Before we get into your date and how you met this guy, what's his name? Yeah, his name's Charlie. Charlie, okay. So you met him when you were running? Yeah, I was just out for an afternoon jog and the next thing I know,
Starting point is 00:02:51 this guy just kind of sidles up to me and starts talking to me while we're running, which has never happened to me before, but it was cool. Yeah, that's, I mean, that's aggressive. That is, like, all I can imagine is, like,
Starting point is 00:03:08 looks really awkward in my head. That's a weird way to meet somebody, just, hi, my name's Isaac. Is that how it was? Yeah, no, I mean, you know, we'd caught eyes earlier, but I wasn't expecting him to say anything, and, yeah, I was breathing pretty hard,
Starting point is 00:03:24 but as soon as he came up to me i you know slowed it down to like a more of a power walk kind of thing okay well and that's interesting because you never knew this guy before and like did you know he was hitting on you right away or did you think some like friendly dude was talking to you this is an ignorant straight guy asking the question i honestly you know like uh no no no i i i do he was he was hitting on me and like it wasn't subtle like some of the looks I was giving him. You know what I mean? Okay. All right, cool.
Starting point is 00:03:48 So how was the conversation? After he came up to you, how much time did you guys spend together, and how was the vibe? Yeah, yeah. I mean, the conversation was great. We, I don't know, talked for like an hour or so. Whoa. Yeah. Damn. At some point in the conversation,
Starting point is 00:04:06 we talked about, you know, maybe meeting up that night. So we decided that I would go over to his place to like watch a movie and stuff. So it was like, Netflix,
Starting point is 00:04:15 hey, you want to come over to my place later? I would imagine, you know what the deal is. Something's going to go down. Yeah. Yeah, it pretty much happened
Starting point is 00:04:25 the way you guys said it happened. We drank a lot, and it was fun. All right. So you drank a lot, and it was fun, and he's not calling you back, though, after that?
Starting point is 00:04:38 No. So I woke up the next morning, and he was a little cold, and I didn't understand why but you know not everyone's a morning person um so i i left but now he's he's not texting me and i don't know why because we had a really good time together but i i mean i did get kind of drunk the night before so i'm worried that i said something okay Okay, so how many times have you tried to text him and how long has it been?
Starting point is 00:05:09 It's been like a week and a half. Okay. And how many times in the week and a half have you tried to reach out to him? I mean, it's kind of like, I don't know, three times? Three times. And he hasn't replied once? No. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:23 And anything you can think of? Just the drinking thing, like you said? I mean, the drinking thing. Maybe he didn't think I was very good. I don't know. Good at drinking or good at other things? Netflix and chilling. Okay, I think I get it.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Yeah, so I don't know. I was just hoping you guys could help me out. All right, we'll do that. We'll play a song, come back, and then call him and see if we can figure out what went wrong, okay? All right, thank out. All right, we'll do that. We'll play a song, come back, and then call him and see if we can figure out what went wrong, okay? All right, thank you. All right, we'll do it next. So many streaming services out there.
Starting point is 00:05:52 There's got to be a lot of terms for watching them and then hooking up. There's Netflix and Chill. We all know that one. Yeah, that's the only one I know. Hulu and Hump. Oh, my gosh. Is that real?
Starting point is 00:06:01 HBO Max and Saks. Amazon and Get It On. Oh. That works. Disney Plus and Ride My Bus. Apple TV and Do Me. Anyway, all I know is, right in the middle of a first date follow-up, and Isaac is on the phone with us,
Starting point is 00:06:19 and Isaac met a dude named Charlie while he was out on a run. He said Charlie came up to him and kind of hit him up while they were running. They ended up hanging out together for an hour and then met up later that evening. He drank a lot so he thinks maybe he said something wrong while he was drunk because he said
Starting point is 00:06:34 in the morning when he woke up, Charlie was kind of cold and Isaac... Not like the temperature cold attitude towards him. Was he cold or was he hot still, Isaac? I mean, he was still hot, but hot in a cold way. Okay. And Isaac has tried to reach out to him, but Charlie has completely ghosted him. He doesn't know why.
Starting point is 00:06:52 So we're going to call Charlie and see if we can figure out what happened. All right, Isaac, you ready to do it? Yeah, I'm so ready. Thank you. All right, here we go. Hello? Hi, may I speak to Charlie, please? This is Charlie.
Starting point is 00:07:13 Hey, Charlie, what's up, man? How are you? This is Jubal from The Jubal Show. Sorry, who? Jubal from The Jubal Show. That's my hottest wife, Alex Freyash. Good morning. And English Evan.
Starting point is 00:07:26 Hi, it's a radio show. Hi, why are you calling? Well, I'm calling you because we do this thing on our show where if you go out on a date with someone and then end up not calling them after they can email us to get you on the phone and find out what happened.
Starting point is 00:07:43 And we recently got an email about you. okay uh from who wouldn't you like to know you should know would you like to know yes uh i would like to know um who emailed you about me his name is Isaac. Remember Isaac? You remember hanging out with Isaac? A little jogging? Yeah, I remember Isaac. Yeah, Isaac said it was quite a cool night. Yeah, he said he had a great time with you. That's all he said. That's not all he said, but it was the gist of it.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Yeah, that was most of it. But it sounds, from your reaction, unless I'm reading you wrong, we don't know each other very well. We met maybe a minute ago. And so I'm having trouble reading you, Charlie. It doesn't sound like you really liked Isaac. I mean, I didn't have anything against Isaac at first. We had a pretty good time, but things got a little, I guess, a little out of control for a first hangout. Well, that's what he said.
Starting point is 00:08:47 He said you guys met while jogging, and you made plans later to meet up, and then, you know, you guys hooked up. And in the morning when he woke up, you were kind of cold, and that's the last he's heard from you. He said we hooked up? Yeah. Yep. It was not exactly like that.
Starting point is 00:09:06 It wasn't like that? You didn't hook up? Yeah. Yep. It was not exactly like that. It wasn't like that? You didn't hook up? No. Okay, well why would he say you guys hooked up? Like were you drinking too much? You don't remember anything? I guarantee you he thinks we hooked up, but he wasn't able to because he was way too drunk. Oh.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Is that why you're not calling him back? It was just a bad experience for you? Not even exactly bad. It was actually kind of in the middle of the night. Wakes up from being passed out and walked into my living room and peed all over my couch. Oh. Oh, no. Yeah, he didn't mention that.
Starting point is 00:09:43 He did not say anything about that. I'd be surprised if he remembered. Oh, no. Yeah, he didn't mention that. He did not say anything about that. I'd be surprised if he remembered. Oh, wow. So you didn't tell him? I didn't. I didn't know what to say. Do you want to tell him now? Why would I tell him now?
Starting point is 00:09:59 Because you basically already did. Because he's actually on the other line listening and wants to talk to you. Oh, my God. Basically already did because he's actually on the other line listening. I want to talk to you. Oh my God. Charlie, I am. I am so sorry. I don't remember that at all. I do have like a thing where sometimes I sleepwalk a little bit, but like it's never anything that embarrassing.
Starting point is 00:10:17 I'm, I'm, I'm mortified. Like I totally believe that I, that I peed on your couch. I mean like, you know, stuff not like that like that, but something like that has happened before. And, like, I just, was it, like, a big pee, or was it, like, just a little dribble? Isaac, it was a lot of pee. Oh. Look, Charlie, I would never intentionally pee on your couch.
Starting point is 00:10:43 I promise. I just, I was a little nervous and excited to meet you, and I drank too much. And that won't happen again. I'm so sorry. What can I do to make it up to you? Tell me anything. I swear. I don't know if there's anything you can do, man.
Starting point is 00:11:01 I don't know if I should be hanging out with people who get so drunk. They're just peeing all over stuff. I don't get that, that drunk that often. I was just, you know, I didn't have to drive anywhere and, and I was nervous and just excited. So I, I, I, I'm not usually like that. I'm not that guy. Uh, I, I promise, like, just give me another chance and I will make it up to you. Well, hold on. It sounds like you're deliberating about that, Charlie. Yeah. Let's make this official. Would you like to go on another date with Isaac if he promises not to pee on any more of your furniture? We'll pay for it.
Starting point is 00:11:41 We'll pay for it before you answer. We'll pay for it. No, you pay for a new couch? I will not pay for a new couch. Or any property that he destroys. Yeah. I won't destroy any more property. I promise.
Starting point is 00:11:52 I will. I mean, if you love the couch, I'll shampoo a new couch. I mean, it sounds like he really likes you. Yeah, it does, Charlie. Would you like to go on another date with Isaac more than the couch? Do you value the couch more than a potential relationship with Isaac? He sounds like a nice dude. I already threw that couch out.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Oh. So now I don't even have a couch at all. Oh, God. I mean, that kills me. I am so, so sorry. I will buy you a new couch. If you want to go furniture shopping together, we could pick one out together and it would be
Starting point is 00:12:25 perfect for your place. There you go. That's a cute date. First date, furniture shopping. I mean, usually that's a date where you've been together for a while, but in this case,
Starting point is 00:12:34 it makes sense. What do you think, Charlie? Okay, Isaac. I did have a really good time with you that night and earlier in the day, so I'm willing to give you another chance, but if you pee on anything else that I own, no peeing.
Starting point is 00:12:51 I am not a big keerer, I promise. In general, or a big drinker. We'll just have a good, wholesome time together. All right, well, congratulations. Yay! You got another date. Thanks, guys. And thank you, Charlie. I promise you're not going to regret that. Oh, I hope not. All right.
Starting point is 00:13:10 And when you get that new couch, do the plastic wrap. The Jubal Show on demand. Hey, everyone. It's Katie Couric.
