The Jubal Show on demand.
First day follow up.
Troy is on the phone today and he's not getting a call back from a woman he went on a date with named Angela.
Troy, sorry you're getting ghosted.
Before we get into your date and why you think you're not getting a call back, how long has it been since you went out with Angela?
It has been pretty much like a week at this point.
Okay.
A week at this point.
Okay.
And how many times have you tried to reach out to her at this point?
Three times.
Three times at this point.
Okay.
Yeah, texting.
Yep.
Okay.
And no response at all at this point?
Not a word.
Not a single one.
Okay. That's single one. Okay.
That's rough.
All right.
Well, let's see if we can figure it out for you.
Tell us about your date with Angela.
Yeah.
So I have this good friend of mine who occasionally does like these drag shows and they're really
fun.
I've been to them before and my friends, I figured, you know, this would be a nice, easy,
comfortable place.
You know, I'm amongst people I know and I know that they're fun.
So I invited her to this drag show.
It was like a brunch thing.
They do bottomless.
Oh, my God.
And so bottomless drag.
Both sound fun.
But so, yeah, so we just we went for the brunch and I thought it was great I thought she had a good
time there was one part where I'm a little concerned because like you can like kind of
invite people up to to do like the drag show performance thing a little bit and I like
invited her up I like Sandra Okada but she was she definitely showed that she was a bit shy and nervous about it.
So I think that that might have been a red flag.
So I just went up and did it myself.
But that was that was pretty much it.
It was a great time.
How was your performance?
Do you think it was OK?
I mean, would you do it again?
Do you think that they should have paid you for your performance?
I mean, this is probably like the third time I've done it.
So I'm definitely a pro at this point. Perform I've done it, so I'm definitely pro at this
point.
Performing in drag is fun.
It is.
I want to see.
The shoes hurt, though.
Those high heels.
But you get used to them.
I never got used to it.
I've done it a few times, and I never got used to the shoes.
I don't understand.
I think high heels should only be worn in the bedroom, laying down.
Laying down.
I don't know.
Like, they hurt the feet so bad. i don't know why women put them through that
like they look good but i would never wear anything like that just to look sexy if i had to walk on it
right but yeah i was also taller way taller so there's that too well how did the date end thank
you uh the date ended fine i mean we didn't uh like we i i'm a big believer in like you know i'll
let's not try for anything on the first date i try to be a gentleman with that and so uh so she
texted she left separately and she texted me when she got home um and she said she had a good time
and that was really the last time i heard from her okay yeah and, other than, so you went to the drag show thing,
you ended up getting pulled on stage to perform.
And how was the conversation?
What was the vibe like with her when you guys were talking?
It was a lot of fun.
We seemed very like similar,
honestly,
like we were laughing a lot.
Like I,
we,
I felt like the vibe was just,
it was,
we were really vibing,
I guess you could call it.
What the hell did you do?
I, well, here's the thing was just, it was, we were really vibing, I guess you could call it. What the hell did you do? Well, here's the thing.
Again, it was bottomless.
So I might have gotten, I might have had a bit too much.
I might have been too outgoing.
I'm not really sure, honestly.
I'm really confused.
I thought it was great, but I could have been really drunk.
I'm not really sure.
Maybe because you were being such a gentleman.
Maybe that's not what she was on the date for, you know? Maybe she wanted you to make a move or because you were being such a gentleman. Maybe that's not what she was on the date for.
You know, maybe she wanted you to make a move or make a move.
She thought, hey, maybe he's not interested.
It's the first date.
Well, you know, some people do first dates differently.
People don't like to waste time.
Like you, Christian.
Some people are me.
That's what I'm talking about.
It's halfway through the first date and we haven't kissed yet.
This is ridiculous.
I'm out of here.
Maybe that was it. That very well could have been it. That's a good the first date and we haven't kissed yet. This is ridiculous. I'm out of here. Maybe that was it.
That very well could have been it.
That's a good point. I was thinking that.
So other than that, you really don't know why she'd be not calling you back at all?
I've been rattling my brain
about it for the last week. Okay, well, we'll see
if we can figure it out for you then. We'll play a song, come back
and then get your first date follow-up next.
The Doodle Show. Right in the middle
of your first date follow-up, if you're just joining us, Troy is on the phone and he's not getting a call back from next. It's the Duel Show. Right in the middle of your first date follow-up,
if you're just joining us,
Troy is on the phone
and he's not getting a call back from Angela.
It's been about a week.
He's texted her three times
and heard nothing since their date.
They went to watch a drag show.
It's one of those bottomless mimosa type drag thingies
and they drank a bunch of mimosas.
At one point, Troy actually got up on stage to perform
in a drag show
because they pulled members of the audience up there.
He thought that Angela was having a great time, but
after the show, they went their separate ways and he hasn't
heard anything from her and he doesn't know why. The only
thing that Troy can think of is maybe they got
a little too drunk or he got a little too drunk
and that was a turn off. That's all you can think of,
right, Troy? Yeah, that was it. Or maybe
also like I was a bit too outgoing
and extroverted. I mean, that could have been a factor.
That would have made me very uncomfortable.
Maybe a little too talkative.
Whoa, slow down. Geez could have been a factor. That would have made me very uncomfortable. Make me a little too talkative. Whoa, slow down.
Geez, you talk a lot.
All right, well, we're going to call her right now
and see if we can figure out why she isn't calling you back
and see if we can get you another date. Here we go. I'm going to dial her
phone number.
Hello? Hi, is this
Angela?
Yeah, this is Angela who's calling.
Thank you for asking, Angela.
This is the Jubal Show.
It's a radio show.
My name's Jubal.
Mine's Alex.
I'm Christian Gray-Snow.
I'm Bennett.
Oh, okay.
What's up?
Did you win something?
Did you win something?
Well, maybe.
That is to be determined.
Yeah.
It's possible still.
Yeah, that's good.
That's totally up to you, actually, if you think you won something or not. Oh, maybe. That is to be determined. Yeah. It's possible still. Yeah, that's good. That's totally up to you, actually, if you think you won something or not.
Oh, okay.
So what's going on?
It's too easy to tell.
We do a segment on the show called The First Date Follow-Up.
That's where if you go out on a date with somebody and end up ghosting them,
they can email us to get you on the phone and find out what happened.
And so we got an email about you from a dude named Troy.
Okay.
What did he say?
Well, he said a lot of things.
Some of them had nothing to do with you,
so I don't even think you care about that information.
Like he said how he was doing when we were talking.
I was like, hi, how are you doing?
He said that, but that's not the important stuff.
The important stuff that he said was that he went on a date with you and
you've ghosting him and he doesn't know why he said that you guys went to a
drag show together.
He thought it was a lot of fun.
He thought you had a great time,
but after that you guys want your separate ways and nothing.
You haven't texted him.
It's been about a week and he's tried to reach out to you three times and
then,
and you haven't responded to any of it.
Uh,
okay.
I don't mean to put him on blast right now but okay the date was fun but the reason i
go to him is because he was a little too excited about the drag show oh what do you mean oh oh
i mean i think he might be like either gay or just not man enough for me.
Well, if he's on a date with you, he's clearly not gay.
He may be bi.
Mm-hmm.
But if he's actively going on a date with you, he's probably not gay.
But I have my preference.
I want like total man.
So when you say...
Totally into me.
When you say too excited about the drag show, you mean like...
About the men?
Yeah.
Like excited, mentally excited about it
or physically excited?
Because in my head,
I went to physically excited
and I was like, whoa.
There seem to be like stars in his eyes,
like some chemistry happening.
I mean, hello, that's not hot.
Think about it.
If he's bi?
I have
nothing against it to each their own,
but what I require is
a man. Maybe he's just a fan
of the arts. Like, real
men do drag. Dude, I've done drag
before. Well, I'm not necessarily a real man.
I don't think a lot of people call me a real man.
He's like, wait.
I've done it before, and it's fun. I went
viral with Sanjaya Malikar from one of the first seasons of American Idol doing drag.
So it hasn't been.
I would be that kind of guy would be my friend.
Well, if you don't want him, I do, because it sounds like he's a good time.
I felt like he was too much and he almost felt like a girlfriend.
That's why you're ghosting him.
You put him in the friends.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't know that I want a romantic relationship why didn't you just tell him that
you text him and be like hey like i think i had fun i think we would be better friends instead
of just like disappearing i know but i tend to do that like the homer simpson fade away
i've done it i used to do it a lot You're just like waiting for them to stop texting. You're like, hopefully this is the last
one. And the worst
part is if they don't, it'll be months
have gone by and you finally have to go. I
don't want to talk to you. Obviously.
Yeah. Right. And seeing
as how we met, we met on Instagram.
So it's just like, is it really that
serious? He seemed like a fun guy. I feel
like he wouldn't be too hung up about
me. You want to know what I think is really going on here?
What?
I think that you know it's kind of whack that you don't like him because he was super into drag and you can't face it and you can't tell him that because you know it's not okay.
Our listeners are going to rip on you for that.
Sorry to ruin your morning, but that's how I feel.
I know it's problematic, but I mean, I just don't think we're a match.
That's okay if you guys did date and he
did get into drag you could borrow each other's shoes and outfits that's fun no he can pay you
to do his makeup you can be his glam artist i can't have my man competing with me i can't
okay too shy yeah dude i love sharing stuff with my man i know it's great
hey angela i have to let you know that t Troy is actually on the phone listening and wants to talk
to you. Oh, my God.
Sorry about that.
I'm going to tell you.
Hey, Angela,
how you doing?
What?
How are things over in the
shallow world that you live in?
Listen,
I would never, I don't
understand wanting to sound mean. I didn't know you were on the phone
but honestly what kind of man has that much fun a real man yeah yeah i'm a guy who's super
comfortable in my own skin like that's isn't that what a man should be love it i think that's pretty
manly yeah you want to grow up like come on i just
can't believe you decided to do this this way like you put me on the radio to just drag me
well because you didn't like him doing drag
like you're just in your feelings about this you would just email the radio rather than
get in contact with a person that's someone we know?
Or hear me out.
This is a stretch, but hear me out.
You could have responded to one of my texts.
Shocker, yeah.
That's a weird idea. Don't you want someone who's fun?
Yeah, I want a guy that's fun,
but not a guy that's like
having fun at a drag show.
Oh my gosh.
Isn't that an oxymoron?
A guy who's fun but not having fun.
Make it make sense.
Yeah.
Well, Angela, I would like to ask if you'd like to go on another date with Troy, even though he's a fun guy who likes to have fun.
Yeah.
Who has fun and not a fun guy who doesn't have fun.
Would you like to go out on another date with Troy?
We'll pay for it.
I'm good.
I don't think so. I mean, you guys are offering to pay for it. I'm down. You still want to go out on another day with Troy? We'll pay for it. I'm good. I don't think so.
I mean, you guys are offering to pay for it.
I'm down.
You still want to go out with her?
I will have fun regardless.
Do you want to go out with Christian?
Ooh, don't tell me we have a good time.
I'll send you my number when we get off this call.
I bet you like this song, Troy.
Well played. Well played. All right. well played well played all right well troy i'm sorry you didn't get another date but it's raining man Oh, my God. The Jubal Show on demand.
