First date follow-up.
Samara is on the phone today for a first date follow-up, and she went out with a dude named JP, but now JP is ghosting her, and she doesn't know why.
And apparently, the date was amazing, at least according to her email.
Samara, you said this date was one of the best dates you've ever been on.
It really was.
I had such a good time.
It was like an enchanted evening.
Oh, wow.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
Enchanted, huh?
Yeah.
We met online and he had this great idea to go to like a food truck festival.
Oh, God, I pooped my pants.
And I'm really into food.
I love trying different things.
And it was like a farmer's market,
but with a whole bunch of different food trucks.
So we got to try all kinds of things.
It was so fun.
Yeah, that's cool.
Okay, that's a good date.
Yeah, and honestly,
I don't get out that much these days.
I've been like busy with work
and I thought it was such a cool idea.
And so I was really excited, and I was excited to meet him.
I thought he was cute.
And, you know, I just, I also think it's cool, like, when someone comes up with different ideas.
And you also said that other than just being able to eat a bunch of fried food from food trucks going out with him, he was also a really good date?
He was also a really good date? He was.
It was so sweet that he brought me flowers,
and guys rarely do that anymore.
So it was really sweet.
Did it seem like he felt the same way?
Yeah, it did.
I mean, like, for example, he was so nice,
and he could tell that I was kind of, like,
getting tired of holding the flowers,
and so he joked,
well, I could give them to some other girl. And I was kind of like getting tired of holding the flowers. And so he joked, well, I could give them to some other girl.
And I was sort of surprised.
Like what?
And then he handed them to a little girl and it was like the cutest thing.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
I'm surprised you guys didn't hook up at the end of the night.
I mean, he's doing everything right.
I kind of want to sleep with him.
Yeah, even my ovaries are on fire.
Well, we made out
a little bit and we bonded over certain things
like we both love Adam Sandler movies.
I don't know who wouldn't, but we do.
And we both love kids and we were like
people watching and
we had just such a great time.
And so, yeah, we made out
a little bit at the end of the night. We like
closed down the place. They told us we had to leave
because the gates were closing. Oh, wow oh wow okay shut down the food truck fest yeah i lost track of
time i'm telling you we had so much fun i mean anything that i'm searching for in a man he had
it i mean he was polite and cute sweet and funny he walked me to my car. We made out. I mean, I just, I thought he was great. He was
like the perfect guy. Okay. So Mr. Perfect isn't calling you back now. And you do,
I mean, what do you think happened? Well, he said that he really wanted to see me again.
And, um, you know, that he, I, and he even texted me right after saying he can't wait until the next date. Oh, yeah.
I've texted him three times and he hasn't responded.
Like nothing at all?
Well, I don't I mean, I hope this isn't the reason.
But at the end of the date, like I wonder if he's ghosting me because like I look in the car mirror and I saw that I had a huge piece of parsley in my teeth and we had been
making out. I mean, surely
it wasn't that. I mean,
I hope not. I mean, if he's
a real germaphobe or he's
super grossed out by things in people's teeth, maybe.
I mean, people do have weird things. Once they
see it, they're like, they're done. Maybe he's been
in the shower since your date scrubbing himself off
because he thought that was disgusting.
Yeah, I mean, other than that, I just just i can't think why because it was pretty much a fairy tale
okay all right well we'll see if we can figure it out for you then we'll play a song come back
and call him and try to see why you're getting ghosted with your first day follow-up next right
in the middle of your first date follow-up if you're just joining us samara is on the phone
and samara had a fairy tale date with a guy named JP.
And JP's ghosting her now, and she has no idea why.
They ended up going to some sort of food truck festival.
She thought that was really cool because it was a different idea.
And it showed that he put some effort into the date.
He also showed up with flowers.
And Samara said a lot of guys don't show up with flowers.
Definitely a romantic dude.
And then at one point, he went the extra mile to be a super cute dude.
And Samara was getting tired of holding the flowers.
So he told Samara,
when he first told you,
I'm going to give these flowers to another girl.
What did you think?
Were you offended at first by that?
Well, kind of.
I was like, what?
You're going to give them to another girl?
And then I saw what he meant.
He gave them to a little girl.
And that was very sweet.
That is super cute.
Yeah, that's super cute.
Now he's not calling Samara back, and Samara has no idea why.
She thinks it might be because at the end of the date, after they were making out,
she noticed that she had food stuck in her teeth.
But it was, like, right there in the front where you can see it.
Okay.
All right, we'll see if we can figure it out.
We're about to call him right now and see if we can find out why he's
ghosting you and see if we can get you another date
with JP. Here we go, I'm going to call him.
Hello?
Hey, message to JP, please.
Yeah, who is this? Hey, what's up, please. Yeah, who is this?
Hey, what's up, JP?
This is Jubal from The Jubal Show.
It's a radio show.
This is Alex.
This is Christian Grace.
Now, this is Bennett.
Okay, I've heard your show before.
My friend talks about you guys sometimes, but I don't listen to it.
Well, look, I'm calling you today.
You sound like you're busy.
Hopefully, you have a few minutes to talk to us because we do a segment on the show called the first date follow up.
That's where if you go out on a date with somebody and then you end up ghosting them,
that person can email us to get you on the phone and ask why you're ghosting.
And you recently ghosted somebody and they have no idea why.
So they emailed us to see if we could find out from you why you're ghosting them.
Do you know who it would be?
I mean, I've only gone on a couple of dates recently,
so I think I have an idea.
Okay.
Is it Samara?
Yes.
You guessed it.
It is Samara.
I kind of figured, man.
Man, like, I really don't know why she's confused about this all.
You don't know why she's confused that you're ghosting her?
Yeah, like, I'm kind of confused that she's confused.
Like, I'm not calling her back.
Do you want to know the answer?
Yeah.
Hold on.
She said the date was amazing.
She said it was like a fairy tale.
She said you were super sweet and that you even said something about seeing her again whenever you guys said goodbye.
Yeah, the date was amazing.
I was so excited and so looking forward to it until, like, the thing.
And I'm just like.
What's the thing?
All right.
All right, fine.
I'm not calling Samara back because her meathead boyfriend beat the out of me in the parking lot.
Wait, what?
Are you serious?
Yeah, man.
It's bullshit.
Like, I walked her to her car.
It was so sweet.
We made out.
It was amazing and then what i was walking to my car
some this like raging roid guy comes running down the street and he's screaming about me giving
flowers to this to his girl and he said like stay the away from my girl and oh my gosh are you
serious yeah he's calling me a pervert and like, like, before I knew it, he punches me in the face.
And he starts, like, kicking the shit out of me.
Oh, my God.
And he walked away like nothing happened.
Damn.
I thought I had a broken rib.
So, yeah, I'm not interested in talking to Samara.
But, like, yeah, no.
No thank you for that.
But are you okay?
Yeah, so sorry that happened.
Yeah, I had to take two days off from work, man.
My ribs are still bruised.
I can't breathe that good.
Did you call the cops?
No, because, like, what are they going to do about it?
They're not going to do nothing about it.
I mean, they might arrest him.
I don't know.
All I knew was I was not talking to Samara ever again.
You know, she is on the phone listening and wants to talk to you.
So you might talk to her
one more time right now
real quick.
Oh,
no,
I am not interested
in talking to her.
No,
wait,
please.
Can you,
can you hear me out?
Because I don't know
what you're talking about.
I don't have a boyfriend.
Is your ex crazy?
No,
I don't.
I have no idea
who that was.
You have no idea.
No, JP, I don't. I have no idea who that was. You have no idea. No, JP,
I don't. Are you still there?
I promise you.
Then tomorrow, who beat the shit out of me?
No one just walks up to random strangers in the parking lot and just beats them up saying
don't touch my girl. So what the
fuck is that?
I honestly don't know. I haven't
even had a boyfriend in
years. I mean, what did this guy look like?
Come on, you know what he looks like.
He was big.
No, I don't.
And he was way stronger than me, if we're being honest.
Well, that does sound scary, but I don't know who this guy was.
This has nothing to do with me.
I don't have beef with anyone.
So who else is going to walk up to me after I'm done making out with you and says,
don't touch my girl, and then he was mad about the flowers.
He was so angry, and I'm just like, you're the only person I've given flowers to, so what is going on right now?
Look, I swear to God, I don't have a boyfriend.
I don't know who beat you up.
I'm really weirded out about this.
I just can't believe it happened.
I don't know who that was. It's awful. I can't think who beat you up. I'm really weirded out about this. I just, I can't believe it happened. I don't know who that was.
I just, it's awful.
I just don't, I can't think who it was.
Wait, wait, wait.
I was not the only one you gave flowers to, remember?
You also gave my flowers to that little girl, remember?
Oh.
What does that mean, though?
What are you saying?
Well, maybe it was her dad.
Maybe he was the crazy guy.
Oh, my God. That was her dad maybe he was the crazy guy oh my god that was her dad and like that's why she was calling me a pervert oh yeah that makes sense you said he was calling you a pervert
that would make more sense than an angry boyfriend if the dude if you gave flowers to his daughter
to be not to be a nice guy and then obviously he must have thought something else, right? Oh, no.
How old was the girl?
She looked like 10,
don't you think?
Oh, God.
Oh, you definitely look like a total creeper
then.
Oh, no.
Wow.
Are you guys for real?
Like, this is all
like that kind of
a misunderstanding?
Yeah, because I don't
have a f***ing boyfriend.
Whoa.
And this is all
kind of like
a crazy misunderstanding. it was very crazy
this is insane i wonder if that dude like followed you for the from the time you gave you because you
gave samara flowers samara actually thought that was really when we talked to samara earlier she
thought that was really sweet that she was you know getting tired of holding the flowers that
you brought for the date so you were like let me give them to another woman and you gave them to a
little girl like how long from that point to the end of the date was it? I don't know. It was kind of like towards the end of the night.
So just like, I don't know how, like I wasn't keeping track of time, but it was a long time.
It was a long time. Come to think of it, Samara, I think there was a dude standing by the fence
when I was walking you back to a car. Do you remember that guy being there? I do remember
somebody being there, yeah,
but I didn't really pay attention.
But I guess he must have followed you.
Yeah, that's the dude.
Oh.
Oh, my God.
What a psychopath.
So he must have been waiting outside for when you guys left,
thinking that you were giving his daughter flowers like that.
If I were you, I'd still be scared he was following.
Yeah.
Yeah, I'm not over this right now. You didn't deny it or anything? You're just, like, taking the I were you, I'd still be scared he was following me. Yeah, I'm not over this
right now. You didn't deny it or anything?
You're just taking the beating? Yeah, exactly.
Because you were thinking that you were on a date
with his girlfriend, not that.
So you're like, what? I'm sorry.
You're crazy.
I've never been beat up before, so
I'm just very confused about what
was happening in the moment.
Oh, wow.
What a bad miscommunication. So now that you know just very confused about what was happening in the moment. Oh, wow. Alright.
What a bad miscommunication to have to deal with.
So now that you know Samara doesn't have a boyfriend
and it's not the guy that beat you up
and almost broke your rib, would you like to go
on another date with Samara? We'll pay for it.
Yeah, but
Samara, I would love
to go on a date with Samara, but don't expect
any flowers.
