Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. turning for another season. We've asked an entirely new set of guests our seven questions, including Jane Lynch, Delaney Rowe, and Cord Jefferson. Tony is on the phone today for a first date follow-up, and he's not getting a call back from Jaleesa. Apparently they went out a little while ago, and now nothing.
Starting point is 00:01:56 Tony, what's up, man? How are you? Confused, I guess. Well, before we get into your date, and you tell us why you think you're not getting a call back from Jaleesa, how long has it been since you guys went out? Last week. But we've been talking for like two months. And talking like regularly for two months, like every day?
Starting point is 00:02:12 Yeah. How many times have you tried to reach out to her since your date? I texted her twice and I called her twice. Tell us a little bit about your date then. What did you guys do? So we're both IPA fans. So, you guys are both beer fans? Yeah, and there's this cool beer garden place with live music that you can bring in your own stuff.
Starting point is 00:02:38 Okay, cool. So, we both brought our own growlers to share you know, to share with each other. I thought it was a fun idea and, you know, so it seemed like perfect first date. And the weather was lovely and the music was great. We had a good time. I don't know. We shared a kiss.
Starting point is 00:03:01 Before we said goodnight, I thought it went fine. So I'm totally confused. Well, what do you think it could have been So I didn't, I'm totally confused. Well, what do you think it could have been? I don't know. I mean, I'm a little goofy and maybe I was nervous. And so they, you know, we did, we finished our growlers. So I probably got a little goofier, but I might've made fun of her beer. I wasn't a big fan, so I kind of teased her about it.
Starting point is 00:03:28 But, you know, I thought it was all in good fun. IPA and beer snobs, though, they take it personal. Did she get mad at you? I didn't think so. I mean, she didn't say anything at the time. Okay. But you're
Starting point is 00:03:44 right. I mean, we do take our beer seriously. I mean, she didn't say anything at the time. Okay. But you're right. I mean, we do take our beer seriously. I mean, you're kind of, you know, knocking someone's craft when you do that. But she didn't make it herself, guys. Oh, okay. Oh. Yeah, no, I wouldn't have made fun of a beer she made. I would have told her it was the best beer ever. There you go.
Starting point is 00:04:05 Okay. And so you think maybe you were a little too critical of the beer that she brought and that's like the only thing you can really think of? It's the only thing I can think of.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Totally. Well, you guys kissed too, right? Right, after that. And did you, what did she say at the end of the date? Was, you know, did she say,
Starting point is 00:04:22 let's go out again? Did it seem like she wanted to? Yeah. I mean, we didn't make plans right there, but I think we said something like, talk to you soon or something like that. Okay. Did you maybe have one too many?
Starting point is 00:04:44 You call it goofy, but maybe it's just drunk. It's not outside the, I mean, I wasn't sloppy, but I was definitely feeling loose. You call it goofy. Some people might call it sloppy. You know, that's true I mean a growler is not nothing but it's um you know it's more than I more than I drink on a on a normal day so and IPAs are strong so yeah maybe you guys are right I but I don't remember that being that drunk that's usually you don't remember when you're that drunk that might be the problem now that I hear myself saying that, you're right.
Starting point is 00:05:25 That doesn't sound good. All right, well, we'll see if we can figure it out for you. We'll play a song, come back, and then call her and see if we can get her on the phone and ask her why she's not calling you back, okay? Okay. All right, we'll get your first day follow-up next. In the middle of your first day follow-up,
Starting point is 00:05:39 if you're just joining us, Tony is on the phone and he's not getting a call back from a woman he went on a date with named Jaleesa. He actually ended up taking her to some venue. It's like a concert type venue. Tony, is that right? It was more like a beer garden with a little stage for
Starting point is 00:05:55 acoustic acts, but yeah. Okay. So a beer garden where they let you take your own beer and he and his date Jaleesa both like IPAs, so they brought their favorite IPA to sample. And he said that they had a really great time. He got a kiss at the end of the evening, but it's been a week and she hasn't talked to him
Starting point is 00:06:10 and he doesn't know why. He thinks that maybe it's because he ripped on the beer that she brought with her a little bit and maybe that rubbed her the wrong way. Or it could be the fact that he drank his whole growler of beer and doesn't remember being that drunk. Uh-oh. Which means he was probably drunk.
Starting point is 00:06:24 All right, Tony, are you ready for us to call her? Yeah, I'm totally ready. Here we go. Hello? Hi, may I speak to Jaleesa, please? Speaking. Who's this? Hi, Jaleesa. This is Jubal from The Jubal Show. It's a radio show. Hi, may I speak to Jaleesa, please? Speaking, who's this? Hi, Jaleesa.
Starting point is 00:06:46 This is Jubal from The Jubal Show. It's a radio show. Hi, this is Bennett. Same radio show. This is Christian Gray-Snow. Also same radio show. And Victoria. I'm not really familiar with your show.
Starting point is 00:07:00 It's a radio show. We do a segment on the show called The First Date Follow-Up. That's where if you go out on a date with somebody and then you end up ghosting them that person can email us to get you on the phone and ask what happened and you recently went out with one of our listeners but now you're not calling him back and he wants to know why oh okay um yeah awkward but yeah okay i'll tell you what happened well do you know who we're talking about first? I'm kind of trying to avoid this guy named Carter I recently went out with, so I thought that's who you were talking about.
Starting point is 00:07:35 Is that who called you? No, but I would love to hear about Carter another time. Oh, no. We're calling today about a dude named Tony. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Are you avoiding him, too? Well, yeah, I am.
Starting point is 00:07:53 Okay. Why are you avoiding Tony? Look, you know, I thought that he was a good guy at first. I mean, I was excited about the date and I was excited to meet him. Okay. He said that he was super excited too. He thought you were awesome. He told us where you guys, he told us you guys went to this brewery place where you can take your own IPAs and both of you guys like IPAs. And so you both brought one of your favorites and compared them. That sounds fun.
Starting point is 00:08:19 Yeah, it was. I mean, it was fun. And, you know, he he made me laugh a lot. I mean, my cheeks are hurting. You know, I mean, that's a really good thing. There's only a couple of ways your cheeks hurt on a date. And it's a good thing. And laughing is one of them. You know, I was going to say it and I chose not to. And you did it anyway. Was the date good? I mean, it sounds like it. We were hanging out with this group and one of the guys asked if he could try some of the beer that Tony brought. And he had been, like, having a good time and laughing and cool. And then when this guy asked him, he was like, he turned all cold and rude.
Starting point is 00:08:57 And he was like, no, it's BYOB. I mean, I understand that it was BYOB, and, you know, maybe he didn't want to share, but being rude is a whole other thing. I get that. For sure. Because, like, if he's being rude to strangers, then it's like, who else is he going to be rude to? Oh, yeah. And is it something to get rude over? I mean, you know, the guy just asked for some of your beer.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Yeah, it was embarrassing. That's very embarrassing and awkward yeah he was also being really passive aggressive and like making comments like those people didn't bring their own and you know it was like it was so rude i mean if you want some more beer then just go buy some like thank you for telling us i mean that sounds like not a lot to get angry over so i can understand why you want my why you might not want to talk to him again. Unfortunately though, for you, Tony is actually on the phone listening and wants to talk to you.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Oh no. Yeah. They, I, I don't, they were the ones who were being rude. Like I'm on a date and they're asking for, they,
Starting point is 00:10:02 they, they finished their beer and then they want some of ours. I'm like, no. And that guy was flirting with you and we're on a date. And it's like, no, it's like there's disrespect all over the place. All over the place. Oh my God, we were having fun. We were having fun until you acted so rude.
Starting point is 00:10:20 I don't know why you have to be so selfish. Like, and now you're getting jealous. Yeah, I don't know what you have to be so selfish. Like, and now you're getting jealous. Yeah, I don't know what you're talking about. He asked you to play cornhole. And like, you know, I'm sorry, you know, you're my date. If we're going to cornhole, you're going to cornhole with me. He was being nice. We were just all hanging out.
Starting point is 00:10:40 I mean, and so he asked you to play cornhole. Big deal. No, disrespectful. My date. Oh, my God. Are you drunk right now? Wait, do you want to sample everything I have? Well, you have the beer, but you don't have me.
Starting point is 00:11:00 No, no. You were my date. Mine. Oh, my God. I didn't know you were such a fool. Oh. All of this on the first date? I can't even imagine a future with you or a relationship. Is this bad already? Yeah, well, that makes two of us.
Starting point is 00:11:21 Just go ahead and go on the beer moochers date with him. I'm sure you guys already exchanged numbers anyways. I makes two of us. You know, just go ahead and go on the, you know, the beer moocher date with him. I'm sure you guys already exchanged numbers anyways. I'm out of here. Okay, I'm not. I didn't get to ask him. Jaleesa, I didn't get to ask him for another date. You want me to call him back? Save your breath and your time.
Starting point is 00:11:38 I'm surprised he didn't come at us for talking on the phone with you. How dare we talk to his girl? I know. The Jubal Show on demand. Hey, everyone. It's Katie Couric. Well, the election is in the homestretch
