The Jubal Show on demand.
First date follow-up.
Victor is on the phone today for a first date follow-up, and he's not getting a call back from a girl named Charity that he went on a date with.
That's not very charitable, is it, Victor?
No, no.
I thought it was going to be a good time.
I got a girl with a good name.
It's not.
Her name should be Casper.
You should change it to Casper.
That's also a better joke than I had.
Good job, Victor.
Before we get into your date and why you think you're not getting a call back from Charity,
how long has it been since you went out with Charity?
It's been like a couple weeks.
It's been like two weeks.
I texted her five times.
Nothing.
I don't know if five is too much,
but I felt like I spaced out the messages enough
where I wasn't obsessive.
All right, cool.
And where did you meet Charity?
We met at, well, we go to the same gym.
And then our gym had like a barbecue
where they invited all the members.
And you actually went to that?
I mean, they packed us it like, you know,
get your protein in, good protein, good carbs,
you know, like that was all about it.
I was wondering how you met her at the gym
if you went up to her while she was working out
because that's dicey territory
when you meet somebody at the gym like that.
I've never outwardly hit on anybody at a gym
because I just feel like women are expecting it.
Also, it's kind of like you end up looking like a D-bag sometimes.
And a lot of times people just want to work out.
Sometimes they don't, though.
Sometimes go full makeup to the gym, and it's like, okay, maybe you want to meet somebody.
But I just feel like I've seen a lot of women get hit on at the gym,
and usually it's not received very well.
And also the guys are usually like, hey, how did you learn to lift such heavy weights?
Like, who taught you that?
You know, how did that happen?
Well, I think that's why the barbecue, that's why the barbecue was a hit.
You know what I mean?
Because it let everyone like know, like no one's, you know, it's not like everyone at
the barbecue was in their headphones.
You know what I mean?
No one was like repping their meal.
I didn't have to like interrupt anyone.
But like, we kind of like, you know, she was like, she's my gym crush.
We've always seen her at her gym.
Didn't want to talk to her.
But we make eye contact. So I thought the barbecue
was a great chance.
I got her number. We text
for a little bit. A week goes
by. She agrees to the date
and I'm excited.
You know? Okay.
There's this one Chinese restaurant I've been going to
for years. It's one of my favorite restaurants.
It's like the first part of the date going great.
And then towards the end, she goes to the bathroom and she comes back and it's like a
totally different person she's like much more reserved uh like i don't know if i just gave her
the ick maybe she had like you know maybe she had a bad dumpling i don't know maybe she got a text
message i don't know from someone that maybe she got a text message like i didn't want to read in
too much into it i just met her kind of i don't want to read too much into it. I just met her, kind of. I don't want to just, like, assume something.
But it was definitely a change.
Did you ask her if she was okay?
Yeah, I asked her if she was okay.
I was like, are your stomach okay?
You know what I mean?
Is it something I said?
Did I chew my mouth open?
You know, because that can happen.
She said she kind of just like, oh, I'm fine.
Oh, yeah, I'm fine.
That usually means that nothing is fine.
She's everything but fine.
To be honest, I'd rather hear anything else, to be honest.
I'd rather hear anything else.
For a gay guy, you know women pretty well.
I do, listen.
I've helped a girlfriend out a time or two.
So she wasn't fine, obviously, by that answer.
Not fine.
Not fine.
So yeah, I just want to get back a hold of her again,
just because it was one of those dates that were going very well.
I felt like an actual connection you know what i mean overall
she's a great girl that i could definitely see her future look okay well not right now though
because she's ghosting you so um we'll see if we can figure out why and the only reason you can
think of is maybe that her stomach was upset i think it's more because she hit me but that's fine
yeah you know but that's that's what the most, like, you know, that's what I can
I don't want to read too much into it because I really
don't know. Okay. Right now, I'm just hoping
it's just like a misunderstanding. Like, I listen to the
show a lot, and I've always heard the reason why
the person got ghosted, and
it's completely different from what
the person thought they were getting ghosted for.
A lot of times. That's why it's hard for me to
assume, because I'm just like,
I have no idea. It could be anything.
At least you know. Yeah, exactly.
We'll play a song, come back, and then call her
and see if we can find out why you're getting ghosted
and maybe get you another date next
with your first date follow-up.
Thank you guys so much.
Alright, we'll do it next. If you're just joining us
for today's first date follow-up, Victor
is on the phone, and I'm still
a little upset that Victor had a better joke about not getting a call back from a woman named Charity than I had at the beginning of the first segment.
He said, her name shouldn't be Charity.
It should be Casper.
Way better than what I said.
I'm still very upset about that, Victor, and you're lucky that we're even doing the first day follow-up now, and I haven't hung up on you and never speaking to you again.
You're going to ghost me, too?
Yes.
I'm about to.
All right, so Victor isn't getting a call back from Charity.
They met at the gym.
They go to the same gym.
They ended up going out for dinner and he thought everything was going great until she went to the bathroom and came back and her mood changed.
Victor did ask her about that and all she said was, I'm fine, which we all know is code for nothing is good right now.
I'm not good.
And since that date, Victor has not gotten a call.
It's been a few weeks.
He's tried a couple times to get a hold of her and nothing.
So we're about to call Charity right now and see if we can figure out why she's ghosting Victor.
Are you ready?
I'm ready.
Please.
All right.
Here we go.
Dial the phone right now.
Hello?
Hi, may I speak to Charity, please?
Who is this?
Hey, what's up?
This is The Jubal Show.
It's a radio show.
My name is Jubal.
Hey, what's up?
This is The Jubal Show.
It's a radio show.
My name's Alex.
Hey, what's up?
It's The Jubal Show.
It's a radio show.
I'm Christian.
Hey, what's up?
I can't remember what they said.
I'm Bennett.
Okay.
Have you ever listened to the Jubal show before?
I don't know.
Maybe.
Charity, it's a radio show and we're calling you today because we do a segment called the first date follow up.
What that is, is if you go on a date with someone and then you end up ghosting them,
that person that you went on the date with can email us to get you on the phone and ask
why you've been ghosting them.
And we got an email about you from somebody.
Oh, okay. Any idea who could have emailed us is it victor oh it is victor you got it yep victor emailed us because he said he really liked you he told us a little bit about your date and then he
also said that you haven't talked to him since it It's been a few weeks, and he's tried to get a hold of you, and nothing. What happened?
Tell us.
Okay, so we were on a date, and, like, it was great, and I like him,
and we have mutual friends.
So at one point, I went over to the bathroom, and kind of, like, near the bathroom,
there's this hall of, like like customer photos for birthdays and stuff.
And there was a picture of Victor with another girl.
On the wall of fame for the restaurant?
Yeah.
Why is that bad though?
Yeah.
Is he not supposed to have ever gone there before or something?
No, I just like, I don't know.
Does he bring women there all the time?
I just like another girl he's bringing to this one spot.
Well, I mean, if he likes a restaurant and if he's single, why not?
Maybe it's his favorite date spot.
So it just weirded you out that his picture was up there with another girl?
Yeah, I mean.
I'm assuming that you didn't say anything to him about it.
No, we were like, on a first date, I wasn't going to be like,
what are you doing with another
woman that would have probably seemed a little crazy town so that was the moment that the date
changed for you did you like it otherwise like yeah it was really nice until i saw that and then
it just kind of threw me off i mean i don't know it just he seemed it just made him seem like a
player and i'm just just really not into that.
Okay.
I get that.
So you thought maybe that he's not into anything serious, maybe.
Yeah, I mean, I don't know.
Maybe he just likes to hook up with women, but I'm not that.
I want to find out if he is a player, because he didn't sound like one when we talked to him.
He said that he really liked you, and he could see a future with you.
That's what he told us.
Okay.
I mean, that's cool, but I sort of don't need to find out.
Yeah, I need to.
Why are you saying that, though?
Oh, because Victor's actually on the other
line listening, and he wants to talk to you.
Wait, are you serious? He's been
listening this whole time? Unless he got
distracted, he's been listening this whole time.
Victor, did you get distracted and
tune out at a certain point, or are you
still listening? I'm listening.
Take care, Eddie.
Hi.
So, I mean, it's funny, because that's
the only reason, because of the photo
that you saw on the wall? I mean,
yeah, it made you seem like a player.
Oh, my God. Okay.
Sorry.
So, that's... It's funny because um it's not i actually don't think
it's funny i don't think it's funny you like you need a place that you take other dates no just hear
me out for a second like i don't think it's sorry for like i don't mean to make a joke it's just
because like that it's my sister like that's my sister it's a picture of my family that was like
my parents anniversary and they took a picture.
Like, we go there for, like, big events.
I'm like, you know, I'm surprised there's not more pictures for that little woman.
I'm serious.
That picture on the wall is not of a date you took there.
It's of you and your sister?
No, it's my sister.
It was not another girl.
Okay.
I haven't taken a date there because it's so, like, it's such a special place.
Because, like, it's usually straight for family and stuff like that.
But you took her?
Yeah, because I liked her.
Like I said, before even our first date, I was like, this is going to go somewhere.
Wow.
So I haven't taken a date there during one of those times where I've gotten my picture taken or I take my date for a big family event or like something special like that and like for the most part i wouldn't take a normal date there like
that that place is you know i've been going there for years so special to me my family i wouldn't
take just take any like normal girl that like i would take somewhere there like where i felt
special about it and like like i said like i know i'm hoping at least for something serious
charity i took you there because because I thought you were special.
I laughed because this picture was my sister,
and I was telling these guys before,
these ghosting things always have a crazy misunderstanding,
and this one delivered.
Oh, my God. I'm really sorry.
Honestly, I should have known that picture was there,
and I should have brought it up,
but this is really funny.
It is kind of funny, actually.
And also, my sister's kind of ugly, too.
Oh, my gosh.
Don't say that.
I did think that you guys looked kind of similar.
And I was like, she doesn't look like me.
And I was like, I must not be his taste
at all.
Oh God. That's embarrassing.
No,
it's not embarrassing. It's like, if anything
what's embarrassing is that you thought I was dating my sister.
Oh no.
Charity,
would you like to go out with Victor on another date? We'll pay for it.
Um, no, I'm kidding. Yes. Oh, yay. Charity, would you like to go out with Victor on another date? We'll pay for it.
No, I'm kidding.
Yes.
Congratulations, Victor.
You ended up getting a second date.
Hallelujah. Hallelujah.
Now, Charity, go replace that picture of him and his sister on the wall with y'all.
Yes.
Yes.
Have fun.
If we are going to date, though, you cannot take pictures with the other women. Not. Yes. Have fun. If we are to speak today,
though,
you cannot take pictures
with the other women.
Not your mom,
not your sister,
not your aunt,
not your cousin,
nobody.
Okay, deal.
Just my brother
who's much more attractive
than all the other women
in the family.
Great.
Great.
Just you.
Okay, you got it.
I promise I won't take
another picture
of another woman
in my entire life
if you don't know
the date.
All right. The Jubal Show on demand. Hey, everyone. OK, you got it. I promise I won't take another picture of another woman my entire life.
