Jake is on the phone today for a first date follow-up and he's getting ghosted by Olivia.
So we're going to see if we can figure out why he's getting ghosted
and maybe get him another date if he still wants one.
We'll call her in a second.
But first, Jake, how long has it been since you heard from Olivia?
Yeah, it's about three weeks now.
So, okay, let's go back to your date.
How did that go?
It's interesting.
It wasn't so much as a date as, well, I met Olivia at a bar.
We both happened to be there at the same time.
My department recently got a raise at work.
So we all went out to celebrate.
And I saw Olivia there with her, you know, her girls just having a girls night.
Okay.
So then how did you and Olivia start talking?
I overheard her talking about a concert she went to a long time ago.
I think it was a Post Malone at a venue that's been since demolished and i was at that concert
too so yeah it felt like i don't know it felt like she's i mean she's obviously cool if she
likes malone so i went over and i started talking to her and it just it kicked off from there
what did what'd you guys do for your date or was this the date uh this this
was the date so you know my friends left her friends left we just ended up talking to each
other all night you know getting to know you type stuff i was telling her about my experiences at
the office which she wasn't that interested in but we got on talking about like gym stuff you
know shows we liked music we like obviously it didn't hurt that she was you know she's a knockout
like definitely 10 out of 10 so then did you guys stay at the bar the whole time did you close it
out or did you guys go somewhere else uh we were we closed it down uh we were we were the last ones there and we were
still talking it was no pressure it wasn't like let's go back to my place even though i'm only
like a few blocks away but she called an uber but we decided to stand outside you know the bar keep
talking and we started making out oh okay I love a good outside bar make out.
You know, we stopped for a second and she was like, you know, is this a date?
And I kind of laughed it off at first.
But then I was like, I mean, I like it to be.
Okay.
We kept making out, you know, to celebrate the date.
To celebrate the date.
Let's celebrate. I love that. That's a great, to celebrate the date. To celebrate the date? Let's celebrate.
I love that.
That's a great way to celebrate a date.
So we're hanging out to Uber shows.
We're still talking, and it was getting fun,
and, you know, she has to go home.
But we exchanged numbers, and she left.
She said she'd text me later,
and I've texted her a few times since, but nothing.
Is there anything that you think might be the reason that she's ghosting you?
I mean, she's a lot smarter and funnier than I am.
I don't know if she, I don't know if it was like she was just really drunk that night.
If she's embarrassed.
Don't cut yourself down like that.
Maybe like you could just say she's smart and funny.
Right. That still says the same thing. It still says the same thing. I don't know say she's smart and funny. Right. That still
says the same thing.
I don't know. That's true. Don't take that away from yourself.
You might be smart and funny too. Right.
Maybe the kiss
was just too slobbery. I don't know. That's
happened. I was wasted.
I can't.
I was a little gone.
Okay. Well, we'll see if we can figure it out. We'll play a song,
come back, and then call her and ask her
why she's ghosting you and then maybe get you another date if you still want one. Okay, well, we'll see if we can figure it out. We'll play a song, come back, and then call her and ask her why she's ghosting you,
and then maybe get you another date if you still want one, okay?
Awesome, thank you.
All right, play a song, come back, get your first date follow-up next.
Ugh, we're so done with New Year, New You.
This year, it's more you on Bumble.
More of you shamelessly sending playlists, especially that one filled with show tunes.
More of you finding Gemini'slists, especially that one filled with show tunes.
More of you finding Gemini's because you know you always like them.
More of you dating with intention because you know what you want.
And you know what?
We love that for you.
Someone else will, too.
Be more you this year and find them on Bumble.

If you're just joining us for today's First Date Follow-Up, Jake is on the phone and he's getting ghosted by Olivia.
So we're about to call her and see if we can figure out why he's getting ghosted and maybe get him another date if he still wants one.
But first, Jake, before we do that, why don't you refresh everybody's memory about your experience with Olivia?
Okay, so I met Olivia at a bar. We were both there for different reasons, but we
really hit it off and ended up in a really hot makeout session. We exchanged numbers, but every
time I text her, I don't get nothing back. They made out and everything. And the only reason I
could think of her not responding is maybe she got sober eyes and realized she's not the woman anymore.
I don't know.
All right.
Well, we're about to call her.
Are you ready?
All right.
Okay, here we go. hello hi may i speak to olivia please yeah this is olivia olivia hi how are you my name is jubel
and i host a radio show it's called the jubel show hi olivia the show's here my name's nina
hi my name's vict. Hi. Hi.
I'm good.
Yeah, I mean, I've definitely heard of you guys before, but... Oh, sweet.
Why are you calling me?
Oh, well, you're late on a payment.
What?
No.
We're calling you because we do a segment on the show.
It's called the First Date Follow-Up.
That's where if you ghost somebody, that person can email us to get you on the phone
and ask why you're ghosting them.
So we got an email about you
from a dude named Jake.
I mean,
I've gone on a few dates,
but I mean,
I don't think I'm ghosting anyone.
He said that you met like three weeks ago.
It was at a bar.
You guys hung out.
And then outside of the bar, you made out.
And then you both were like, is this a date?
I guess it's a date.
And then you made out some more.
You remember that guy?
Oh, see, okay.
I did not remember his name.
I don't remember Jake.
I mean, okay.
See, I got really drunk about three weeks ago.
And I completely blacked out.
And I just remember flashes of talking to a guy.
And, I mean, I definitely don't remember everything.
I remember how he looked.
And, I mean, he looks good.
I remember how he smelled.
He smelled really nice.
I remember him being really sexy and super smart.
They're all good things.
I didn't remember his name.
I didn't remember his name.
So, yeah.
No, I'm surprised he reached out to you guys because, I mean, both of us were pretty wasted.
And he was just throwing them back.
And I know I was, too.
So, I don't know.
Well, he said he tried to get a hold of you yeah I mean I got text message
text messages from somebody but because I didn't recognize who it was I'm I'm really like bad if I
don't know what who a number is like I just automatically send it to spam and I don't want
to deal with it because there's so many like random numbers that pop up now. I just don't even want to deal with that.
So I didn't even look.
Yeah, I've been getting them.
You think I'm like a marketing tech?
You know, I see them come all the time.
We made out outside of a bar.
Yeah, whatever.
I'm not buying your sweater.
I give you 20% off.
I don't care.
I thought you were really great.
I'd like to see you again.
Okay.
Yeah, well, whatever.
I don't want your coffee.
I completely blacked out. Like, I just remember hanging out with this I'd like to see you again. Okay. Yeah, well, whatever. I don't want your coffee. I completely blacked out.
Like, I just remember hanging out with this guy after this concert at this bar, and it
was cool, but I just, you know, it's like one of those things.
Like, man, I guess I missed out on this guy, but I shouldn't have drank so much.
Lesson learned.
Hopefully, I meet him again at some point.
Oh, well, great.
You can meet him right now, because he's on the phone listening and wants to talk to you.
Wait, what?
What?
Yeah. Hey. Hey. Wait, what? Yeah.
Hey, hey, hey, Olivia.
It's Jake.
You think I'm sexy?
Hi, Jake.
That's all I heard.
What?
See, Jake, you're funny and sexy, too.
Yeah, I've been trying to get in contact with you.
You're right.
I mean, we did pound a lot of shots.
I'm kind of a professional drinker.
See, and I'm very much a lightweight.
Can we go back to that sexy thing, though?
Can we talk about that?
Because I think it's sexy, too.
Yeah, I mean, no.
I definitely enjoyed my
time with you and
it's super sweet that you reached out
and you sought me out.
I mean, yeah.
Yeah, I'm just really embarrassed
that I don't remember anything.
Olivia, would you like to go on another date
with Jake now that you know his name?
Heck yes, I would.
Oh, wow.
Okay, congratulations.
We'll pay for it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, I feel bad that I don't remember anything, but now we get to have the date over again
and just have even more fun.
You can make some new memories.
Just don't black out.
Yes.
Right.
Exactly.
No, no.
We'll take it easy on the booze this time.
Good.
Good. I mean yeah yeah and more kissing please
because i do remember that and it was amazing oh oh definitely i plan on kissing you a lot
all right sweet that's like a good plan. All right, have fun. Jubal's first day follow-up.
