The Jubal Show on demand.
First day follow-up.
I don't think the guy on the phone today for a first day follow-up
has waited long enough to do a first day follow-up,
but whatever, he sent five emails.
Five? Really?
He sent us a bunch of emails, so we're going to do it.
But I don't think that he's waited long enough.
James is on the phone today for a first date follow-up.
He's not getting a call back from a woman named Rachel that he went on a date with.
And James, how long has it been since your date?
It has been four days.
Oh, four days.
Four days.
I thought it was going to be same day.
Yeah, I mean, it's a couple days she hasn't it was going to be same day. Yeah.
I mean, it's just a couple of days.
She hasn't responded to you.
Are you sure she's ghosting you?
Cause four days it could be she's busy.
Well, yeah, I mean, well, I don't know.
That's why I'm calling you guys to find out.
It's, I thought we had a really, I thought we had a really nice date.
And then like the next day I sent her a text saying I really enjoyed the date.
I didn't hear back from her.
Then the day after that, I went on her Facebook page and I sent her a meme.
She didn't respond to that.
And then I liked and commented on one of her Instagram posts.
And she never responded to that.
You don't have any shame.
Well, yeah, but I just don't know what's going on.
We had a really fun time.
Still, I mean, that's fine.
But she does have the option to not respond, you know?
Well, yeah, but I mean,
at least she could respond to me
telling me that she doesn't want to respond to me.
Right.
I'm very curious, James. Tell me, tell me anything you can about her.
Like, you know, what did you like all that stuff?
She, well, she had the, she had the cutest,
she had the cutest nose in the world.
So I took her to this bar.
I looked up some Yelp reviews and this bar had some great Yelp reviews and we
went there and she ordered this drink, uh, called, uh, uh, make out on the beach.
Ooh, that's a good sign.
That sounds like a sex on the beach.
Yeah.
So it was, it was like a variation of that drink and, and she took a sip of it and her,
her nose just scrunched up like a little bunny and it was just the cutest.
It was, it was so freaking cute when she did that.
I know the feeling though,
Alex and I are married.
If you didn't know that there's constantly things like that,
that Alex will do.
And I'll be like,
Oh my God,
that was so cute.
And it's so adorable watching him do it.
But so I,
so you liked the way her nose crinkled.
Yeah.
Well,
I mean,
we,
we,
we had a nice conversation.
Uh, it was all,
I commented on how cute her nose was and maybe, maybe she thought that was a little creepy.
What did she say when you said that? She, she does, she blushed a little and got in this sort of
didn't really say anything. So you're a nose guy.
Yeah. Somebody, somebody or boob guys, I'm a nose guy.
Nose and toes?
Nose and toes.
So do you think that maybe it creeped her out?
Maybe that's too soon for your nose is cute when it crinkles up compliment?
Well, also when I, you know, she ordered a makeout on the beach
and I said, jokingly, I said, well, you know, is that a sign of things to come?
Oh, James.
Yeah.
I mean, well, she did chuckle and she said,
it depends on how the rest of the date goes.
Yeah.
That's some cute flirtation right there.
It's cute if she thinks he's cute.
Well, the way she said it though was flirty back.
Right.
It depends how the date goes, sucka.
Sucka.
Or she gives him saying that to be nice.
Yeah.
I think being nice.
So,
well,
did it end with a makeout
on the beach?
Oh,
no,
no,
no.
We,
we had some drinks,
we had some conversation
and it ended right there
at the bar.
Not even a hug?
No,
not even a hug.
What?
Okay.
So,
it sounded flirty
from what you just said.
Something might have changed
after that or she might not have really been into it.
Is there anything else you can think of?
I can't. That's the only thing I can think of.
Maybe she thought I came off a little too creepy, which was not my intent.
I was just, I'm not a very good flirter. And, uh, uh,
and maybe she took my flirting as creepiness, but, uh,
I'm a, I'm a really,
I'm a really nice guy and I just want to find out what's going on here.
All right. Okay, cool. Well, we'll play a song,
come back and then call her and see if we can figure out why she's not calling
you back. Okay. Oh, that'd be great. Thank you guys.
We'll get your first day follow-up next.
It's the Jubal Show.
Hey, James?
Yeah?
It's good that that drink was a make-out on the beach and not a sex on the beach,
because that joke you made about that definitely wouldn't have hit right
if it was the other thing.
Right in the middle of today's first day follow-up, and James is on the phone.
He went out with a woman named Rachel.
He really likes her a lot.
He took her out for drinks.
He said that,
he said the conversation was fun.
He thought it was flirty.
He commented on her nose being cute
when it crinkles up
and she ordered a drink
called a makeout on the beach,
which is,
I guess,
their version of kind of
a sex on the beach
and then he made a comment
that he thinks
might have turned her off
and that was,
hey, maybe we could do that later. You didn't say a comment that he thinks might've turned her off. And that was, Hey,
maybe we could do that later.
What?
Well,
you didn't say it like that.
How'd you say it,
James?
I said,
is that a,
is that a sign of what's going to happen later tonight?
Yeah.
That's what I said.
Okay.
That's better than be like,
Hey,
can we do that?
So anyway,
that you think that that might've been one of the things that she didn't like.
Maybe she thought you were being creepy when you're just trying to be flirty
because you're a bad flirter.
Yes.
Okay.
All right.
Well, we're going to dial her phone number right now and see if we can figure out if that is the reason or if there's another reason.
Here we go.
Hello?
Hi, my name is Jubal from a radio show called The Jubal Show.
And my name is Alex from a radio show called The Jubal Show.
And my name is English Evan from a radio show called The Jubals.
And we're looking for Rachel.
Hi, it's me.
Wait, are you calling me?
Did I bring tickets to the show? Are you serious?
It's me?
You know about us?
Yes, of course.
I listen to you all the time.
Please tell me I won tickets to the show.
Did I win tickets to the show?
What show?
What show?
The concert or something, right?
The concert or something.
You just want some tickets.
We're calling because we got an email about you
from someone who listens to the show
and you and him went on a date
and now you're not calling him back.
Yeah, would that be James?
Yes.
Bingo.
It would be James.
Oh boy.
James wants to know,
he said he thought you guys had a great time.
He really liked you a lot
and he's wondering why you're not calling him back.
He said he's tried to get a hold of you a few times.
He said it's only been like four days, but he really wants to talk to you.
Okay.
Yeah, we did go on a date.
That's fine.
But, yeah, I don't know what to say.
He's a little, he was a little out there.
Let's just say that.
A little out there?
How so?
Uh, creepy.
Oh.
Creepy?
All right.
What did he do that was creepy?
Um, well, I had a drink and, you know, I'm not a person that likes the taste of alcohol.
So I kind of made a weird face and people tell me I do that all the time.
And he thought it was cute.
Yeah, he told us about that.
He likes your nose.
He said your nose was really cute when you didn't like the taste of the alcohol and crinkled your nose up.
Yeah.
Okay.
That's yeah.
I think that's a little creepy.
I knew you would find it creepy, honestly.
That's the reason why you're not calling him back?
You think the nose comment, you don't take that as a compliment?
I mean, if I took a drink of something and someone was like,
oh my goodness, your nose crinkles up, it's the cutest thing,
I'd probably be like, thank you.
Guys, guys, he brought a hamster on the date.
Let's just get to the point.
What happened?
A hamster, a hamster.
He brought a hamster.
He definitely didn't tell us that. He bought a hamster, the animal. Let's just get to the point. What happened? A hamster. A hamster. He brought a hamster. He definitely didn't tell us that.
He bought a hamster, the animal.
In his pocket?
Yes, it was in his pocket.
Okay, so listen. I ordered
some wings. There was
like a garnish on the plate.
He pulled it off and it disappeared.
I didn't think he ate it,
but he put it in his pocket.
Then at first I thought, you know, why is he putting garnishes of every dish in his pocket? Then
he pulls out a real hamster and is feeding it.
Was it cute at least?
It doesn't matter. They're at dinner.
Yeah. And he didn't tell you he brought a hamster. He just busted out a hamster.
Yes. No, he didn't.
No.
Oh, my God.
He couldn't even, like, warn a girl?
Okay, let's just say it's just too weird,
and this is the reason why I don't go on dates,
and the guy is weird.
You seem super shook.
It's a rodent.
We're in a restaurant.
Yeah.
I can't believe you guys are asking me these questions. Like, it's nuts.
It's just creepy and nuts.
There's nothing else to say.
Creepy and nuts.
There is something else to say,
and if you listen to the show,
you probably know what I'm about to say.
What?
Well, I was about to say that
James is actually on the phone listening
and wants to talk to you.
Oh.
Yeah.
What do you,
James?
Yeah.
Can I have a chance to explain what happened?
Please explain.
Chill,
chill,
chill.
I don't understand what else is there to say.
You put a hamster.
I want to tell you why I had Hamela Hammerson in my coat pocket.
Hamela Hammerson.
That's all.
Yes.
Hamela Hammerson.
Don't you remember the name?
We had a whole conversation about it at dinner.
Okay.
Yeah.
I wasn't paying.
I didn't take you seriously.
Yeah, what?
Well, because I picked her up from the vet, okay?
She was a little sluggish.
I took her to the vet.
I picked her up.
I didn't have a chance to take her home,
so I put her in my pocket,
and she goes out with me in public all the time.
She's really more like a dog than a hamster.
That's adorable.
Come on.
I love this.
This is too weird.
This is the reason why I wasn't talking to him anymore.
This is just too weird.
I can't.
Well, you didn't freak out when I showed her to you on the date?
Well, because she was scared.
I don't know. They could have something
like, if they bite you... What, rabies?
Something or another.
Okay, if I take my hamster to the vet,
my hamster does not have rabies.
You take your hamster to the vet?
I've never known anybody to take a hamster to the vet.
That's where you picked it up from.
She was feeling sluggish.
I had to take her to the vet. Yeah, I mean,'s where you picked it up from. She was feeling sluggish. She was. It's moving right.
I had to take her to the vet.
Yeah, I mean, good.
You know, you're supposed to do that when animals feel sluggish.
So I'm glad you're taking care of her.
I'm going to ask this question right now, even though I'm pretty sure I know the answer.
Rachel, would you like to go on another date with James?
Okay.
Well, you know, now that I talked to her and all this hamster slander is going on, I don't think I want to go out with her again.
I didn't know she had this much against hamsters and pets and loving another creature.
Are you kidding me?
Yeah, I thought you'd be a little more understanding, okay?
No, I'm fine with not understanding this, okay?
How about that?
Stop slandering my hamster.
Okay, dude.
She hung up.
This has got to be a joke.
She's gone.
Are you joking?
He's not joking.
I'm not joking.
I mean, you have to like, if you like me, you have to like Hamela.
That's totally fine.
I think it's okay.
If you want to date you, you got to also date the hamster.
You have to acknowledge, you can't make fun of her.
You can't be scared of her.
You hear about these people
who treat their dogs
and treat their cats.
What's wrong with
treating a hamster
like one of your children?
You're very close to them.
I agree.
If anything,
it's more convenient.
It's a smaller animal.
Yeah, nothing wrong with that.
Nothing wrong with that.
You keep protecting Hamala.
Yeah.
Thank you.
Thank you very much.
All right, man.
Well, good luck. Take care, okay? All right. Thank you very much. All right, man. Well, good luck.
Take care, okay?
All right.
Thank you, guys.
