Starting point is 00:01:40 Have you guys ever been denied a first kiss on a date? Nope. I wouldn't think Alex would. Most dudes would probably be like, yeah, absolutely. English Evan, guys ever been denied a first kiss on a date? Nope. I wouldn't think Alex would. Most dudes would probably be like, yeah. English, have you ever been denied? No, never. I've been denied before.
Starting point is 00:01:51 It's very awkward. Is it? Yeah. And Max is on the phone right now for a first date follow-up, and he was denied a kiss on the first date. So he knows at the end of it, it was awkward, but his email says he can't think of anything else awkward that happened max before we get to you getting shut down asking for a kiss what's the name of the girl that you want to call today uh her name is mackenzie mackenzie all right
Starting point is 00:02:14 and how did you meet mackenzie uh met on bumble okay yeah you know we're talking for a little bit and decided to go out for drinks and dinner she She's really easy to talk to. She's really smart. She knows a lot about like, I'm really into horror movies and stuff. And she actually is also kind of into that stuff. So we can talk about movies and. Oh, me too. Yeah. So we were able to actually like have a conversation and she was keeping up about a lot of current events and stuff. So the night went on and on because it was like just talking to somebody I felt like I'd known her for a long time. That's always a nice feeling on a first date
Starting point is 00:02:48 like where it's like comfortable. Yeah. It didn't feel friend-zoney until when we were ending the date and I asked her or went in for a kiss and she told me she didn't want to kiss on the first date. So she actually said that to you. She said she didn't want to kiss. She did. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:03 I mean, I was trying to be polite about it not push but that's never happened to me before that was weird describe the situation i want to feel the the awkwardness that must have been there so uh we got out of the uber and i was walking her up to her apartment and uh my hands were in my pocket and sort of sheepishly and then i removed them from my pocket to to put one low behind her back and one oh no you know behind her head and she stepped back out of my hand so you just kind of hugged the air so i've got my yes i got my hands suspended in the air and I stepped out of it. And I look like, I don't know, like a turtle on my back. And then she just says like, oh yeah,
Starting point is 00:03:53 I don't kiss on the first date. I was like, oh, okay. Obviously I didn't know that. You should have said neither do I. Yeah. Neither do I. Why are you being weird? Like, why, why'd you make me go in for it then? that's odd blame it on her yeah it didn't end after that right like we were still talking and being really friendly there wasn't like oh okay good night it didn't feel like a strikeout or anything but it wasn't until i followed up with her to get a second date not just for the kiss but for the fact that like i really enjoyed talking to her and then nothing i mean I thought it was really weird because we talked for like hours wow you basically closed that closed that that place down so since your date she hasn't responded to you like whatsoever at all nothing yeah okay not through
Starting point is 00:04:35 the app not not text how many times have you tried uh I mean I feel like after four you got to take the hint right yeah yeah I'd say even maybe two. For sure. All right. Well, she's obviously blowing you off. I fixed him out. Yeah. So she ghosted you and you can't think of any reason why? And I really did.
Starting point is 00:04:53 The one thing I could think of is we argued about sports for a little bit, but I don't think that was it. Well, how bad of an argument was it? Did you punch her? No, it was playful. It was playful. No, we didn't flip a table, but.
Starting point is 00:05:04 Well, right in the middle of your first date follow up. And if you're him? No, it was playful. No, we didn't flip a table. Well, right in the middle of your first date follow-up, and if you're just joining us, Max is on the phone, and Max has been ghosted by Mackenzie. He said that the first date was great. They talked for hours at the bar. He liked everything about her. He says there was an awkward moment when they kind of argued about sports, the only thing you can really think about,
Starting point is 00:05:23 but you say that's a playful. It wasn't like you guys were actually like red-faced, swearing at each other about sports, were you? No. No, we weren't. Okay. The other awkward thing was he went in for a kiss at the end of the night, and she shut him down and said she doesn't kiss on the first date.
Starting point is 00:05:38 So, obviously. Ouch. Do you feel like she was lying? Do you feel like she does kiss on the first date? She just didn't want to kiss you? I mean, who doesn't think that, right? At first I was like, is it my breath? Is it me? But no, I feel like
Starting point is 00:05:49 that was, I don't know. I feel like she was being real. Okay. I feel like you might never kiss again. Yeah. I'm questioning it now. Well, I'm going to dial her phone number right now and see if we can figure it out for you, okay? Thanks, guys. Yep, here we go.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Hello? Hi, may I speak to Mackenzie, please? This is Mackenzie. Who is this? Mackenzie, please? This is Mackenzie. Who is this? Mackenzie, thank you for asking. This is Jubal from The Jubal Show. Oh. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Have you ever listened to the show before? Yeah, I've listened to it a few times. Okay. Well, on the phone right now, I'll let you know, and I'm sure this is confusing for you, but on the phone right now is me. My name is Jubal. I'm Mahara's wife, Alex Friesch.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Hey. And English Evan. Hello. Hi, guys. Hey. How are you? Not too bad. I'm calling you today because we got an email about you from someone who listens to the show.
Starting point is 00:07:09 Okay. Okay. Um, okay. Uh, we do a segment where if you go on a date with someone and then not calling them back, they can email us to get you on the phone and find out what happened. And you recently went out on a date with a guy named Max. Oh yeah, I did. did. Yeah, and Max emailed us and told us all about your date, even the fact that you shut him down at the end of the night when he tried to kiss you. Yeah, pretty harsh. Oh my gosh, he told you all of that? Yeah, he did.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Oh. He also told us that you haven't talked to him since and he's tried to reach out to you and he is wondering if he did something to mess up the date. Cause he thought it was, he thought it was awesome. And he said he really liked you a lot. Yeah. I, I mean, yeah, I didn't call him back or anything. I, it's just like we had a decent date going.
Starting point is 00:08:04 Well, decent is a great review yeah decent he said he loved it i mean it was okay it was it was going well um but then all of a sudden he said that one of his lifelong goals is to be on the bachelorette. And not only that, he's auditioned for every single Bachelorette audition that has occurred. No way. He's been to every single one. Wow.
Starting point is 00:08:35 And the people on those shows are, well, maybe it's actually a plus that he hasn't made it on the show because the show's been on for 45 years, I think. Yeah. And if you get on the show, it means you're crazy. So maybe that means he's not crazy. Right. Because he can't get on for 45 years, I think. And if you get on the show, it means you're crazy. So maybe that means he's not crazy, at least, because he can't get on.
Starting point is 00:08:48 I mean, I guess, but he had to travel to every, you know, location to go to those. That's like all over the place. Yeah, that's a weird thing to bring up as well on a first date, because you're talking about other people that you love or would like to love. Like a competition show to get married. Yeah. Exactly. other people that you love or would like would like to love like a competition show to get married yeah exactly and like you're on the show with a bunch of other guys who are like there to also date the same girl it's just weird let me stop you there mckenzie it's not to date the same girl it's vying for the love of your future bride is the way they put it but yeah you're right just a bunch of dudes trying to date the same girl for attention right i know and and it's just so it's so weird that he's been to every
Starting point is 00:09:31 single one and i just like i don't know i was kind of freaked out by that and like the fact that they like haven't cast him yet probably means that he's like just weird enough that they didn't want to put him on the show you know what i mean yeah i feel like that's a decent reason if i went out with a woman and she was trying to be on the bachelor yeah that's weird all the time every single season that'd probably be a turnoff for me too you know what might be a turnoff for you too also mckenzie is when i tell you that he's actually on the other line, listening to this call and wants to talk to you. No. You're kidding me, Max.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Yeah. Say hi to Mackenzie. No, no, no. You don't want to say hi to her. No, not after all that. I mean, that's bulls**t. Are you kidding me? What do you mean?
Starting point is 00:10:29 Why is that? My aspirations are not a punchline. I mean, I understand that it might seem silly to you that I want to appear on a stupid dating show. But, I mean, it's a really serious goal of mine. And I shared that with you, Mackenzie. Look, I'm not here to dump on your goals. I just know that that's not going to be in line with my future goals. Like, I can't date somebody who is, like,
Starting point is 00:10:59 constantly trying to be on The Bachelorette. Like, that's kind of not a thing. Well, you said you like to travel. What is that? I do. But for the person to be on a vacation with me, not to go see some other woman. Yeah, The Bachelor in Paradise does not apply to this situation.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Exactly. You can't understand at all why she would be apprehensive to date you, Max, when you're trying to get on a dating show and that's your goal? One of your big goals in life is to get on The Bachelorette, a dating show, to date someone else? Well, it's not a dating show. It's a TV program. I mean, it's television. It's entertainment.
Starting point is 00:11:36 I want to, this is, The Bachelorette is a stepping stone to bigger, larger goals. Oh. Okay, so that's your way into the entertainment industry. That's what you want to do with it. Well, yeah. That's what everyone's done. Of course, you're right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:50 I mean, that's part of it. If I don't get selected on The Bachelorette, then I could be spun off into my own version of The Bachelor, and that's where it starts. And then Dancing with the Stars, and all that other stuff. So you're seeking fame. But here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:12:03 Like, what if you do get selected though and you end up like having to marry whoever that is like and then i'm over here like okay guess i'll wait like until the divorce i guess like that's what okay first of all your concern means you think i have a chance second of all those are contract marriages. And we were just working on the contract. Like, they just exist on, you know, the public eye. And, I mean, we could low-key get divorced, you know, and it'd be fine. I'd be free to do whatever I wanted in my private life.
Starting point is 00:12:39 Right, right. So, like, you're saying that the cameras wouldn't be following me as well when you come home to me. Yes, that's right. That's what I'm saying. Uh-huh, uh-huh. That makes total sense. I'd like to point out as well, this is assuming that Max will win the show. Yeah. Let alone get on. I will win someday. You guys are going to see.
Starting point is 00:13:00 All right. Well... Maybe not the British guy, because I don't know where it airs. He's here with us in studio in America So he knows the show But I do need to ask real quick Mackenzie I think I know the answer I think everybody probably knows the answer Would you like to go on another date with Max?
Starting point is 00:13:15 We will pay for it Heck no Max I'm sorry man No second date for you That's fine Don't need a woman who doesn't understand me and my dreams Alright well thanks for your email Good luck in your career path Sorry, man. No second date for you. That's fine. Don't need a woman who doesn't understand me and my dreams. All right. Well, thanks for your email and good luck.
Starting point is 00:13:27 Good luck in your career path. And I hope you get on the Bachelorette someday or Bachelorette or whatever. Oh, I will. Thanks, guys. All right. Jubal's first date follow up only on the new hits 106.1. I hope she makes you smile. The way you made me smile on the other end of a phone in the middle of a highway driving alone.
