Starting point is 00:02:28 So in a few minutes, we're going to call Neil and see if it'll tell us why he's ghosting her. But first, Leslie, how long has it been since you heard from Neil? A little too long. I've been about a week, a little too long for my taste, actually. Yeah, the weak point's usually the point when people start to be like, okay, is this ghosting now? Exactly. Have you tried to reach out? No, I mean, can I just tell you guys what happened?
Starting point is 00:02:56 or I can't stop thinking about it. Like, honestly, one of the best dates I've ever had. He planned this super creative date, like goat yoga. Have you heard of this? Yeah. Yeah. I mean, like, it's adorable, right? Like, animals climbing on you, like, doing a downward dog.
Starting point is 00:03:17 I've always wanted to do that. I just heard that they do go to the bathroom a lot. They do. But they're so cute, you almost don't care. Totally. And, like, it's automatically. like an icebreaker right because like yeah stuff like that'll happen or you're just like laughing you're petting goats it just honestly the whole date felt so natural um but uh i this okay so
Starting point is 00:03:38 i might have gotten a little a little too into it you guys um like i gave i gave one of the goats i'm laughing about it's so funny but i called him stir bounces a lot um like i well i and I pretended he was like a fishyy in our wedding while he's been on Neil's back. But like Neil laughed, so. I mean, Lessa, you got really into it. I know, I know. And after yoga, like, obviously he didn't, wasn't upset by it because he set up a picnic like after yoga, you know, with wine and hummus, like the whole deal. Oh.
Starting point is 00:04:14 Where'd you find this guy? I know, right? I've like never done anything like this calling you guys like but I just I don't know he made me feel like I was in one of those cheesy dating show montage is like thoughtful and smart and honestly like I loved that he planned something different like I don't think I've ever experienced that someone putting in that much effort as a date and um and also oh my god see I could talk like a million minutes about him I'm kind of obsessed with how calm he is like steady and that's something
Starting point is 00:04:49 I really want you know you know like frantic and freaking out and unsteady only one can do that like been there done that honestly I just keep playing over in my head like why why would he ghost me
Starting point is 00:05:07 you know um obviously like yeah I mentioned the dating the wedding thing but I don't know if it's like the goat pooped in my shoe and I laugh like a little too hard and I was like crying laughing and then I I peed a little bit because I was laughing so hard and um you know there's like like pink yoga pants um it's like the pee showed a little bit oh I know I know I know I tried to play it off like I leaned on something wet but I'm
Starting point is 00:05:40 pretty sure he thinks he knows like I peed on myself oh I thought that's go peed on I guess you could have played it off like that and say it was Sir Bounces a lot. I know. Okay. Oh, my God. Shoot. Yeah, it's been a week. Yeah, it's been a week.
Starting point is 00:05:58 And I forgot to mention, you guys, I texted him a photo of this, like, the three of us, like, you know, like a family portrait with him, me, and Sir Bounce is a lot. Oh, of course. And he didn't, he didn't even like the photo. Oh. Oh. Well, we had such a good date, you know. Leslie, that was a lot. We'll play a song, come back, and then call him and see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting you
Starting point is 00:06:24 and maybe get you a second date, okay? Okay, thanks guys. All right, we'll get your first date, follow up next. December 29th, 1975, LaGuardia Airport. The holiday rush, parents hauling luggage, kids gripping their new Christmas toys. Then, at 6.33 p.m., everything changed. There's been a bombing at the TWA terminal. Apparently, the explosion actually impelled metal, glass.
Starting point is 00:06:59 The injured were being loaded into ambulances, just a chaotic, chaotic scene. In its wake, a new kind of enemy emerged, and it was here to stay. Terrorism. Law and order, criminal justice system is, Back. In season two, we're turning our focus to a threat that hides in plain sight. That's harder to predict and even harder to stop. Starting point is 00:08:32 Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, I'm Jay Shetty, and I'm the host of the unpurposed podcast, and today I'm joined by one of the greatest athletes of all time, Novak Djokovic. The world's number one male tennis player. He's won 14 grand slams in a glittering career.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Novak Djokovic! You've been through so many injuries, losses. I always heard himself. What has Novak Djokovic done? What goes through your mind when you lose? I just want to be left alone. What has it taken to become Novak Djokovic? It's a consistent practice.
Starting point is 00:09:09 It's prayer work, mindfulness, meditation, conscious breathing. It requires more. responsibility from you on a daily basis to prepare yourself for the biggest battle when you reach your 30 you start counting your days to your retirement i'm 38 this year how far can i go how long can i push my own limits listen to on purpose with j shetty on the i heart radio app apple podcast or wherever you get your podcast right in the middle of your first date follow up if you're just joining us leslie is on the phone and she's getting ghosted by a dude named neal so in a second We're going to call him and see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting her and maybe get her a second date.
Starting point is 00:09:48 But first, Leslie, why don't you run down your date again for us real quick? Yeah, it was my favorite date of my life. He planned everything. It was goat yoga, followed by a picnic, which was amazing. And, yeah, I was really, really into him and maybe embarrassed that, like, I piqued myself a little bit laughing and mentioned, like, marriage in the first date, like, as a joke. And he laughed, but yeah. So you're just kind of unsure, replaying some moments. Yeah, it's been a week, so.
Starting point is 00:10:20 Well, are you ready for us to call him? Yeah, let's do it. All right, here we go. Hello. Hi, man, I speak to Neil, please. Okay, yes, I'm here. Hey, Neil, how are you? This is a radio show.
Starting point is 00:10:49 It's called The Jubal Show. Hi, Neil. I'm Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria. And my name's Jubal. What's up? How's it going? Is there, how'd you get my number?
Starting point is 00:10:59 Well, we got it because we do a segment on the show that's called the first date follow-up. That's where if you go on a date with somebody and you end up ghosting them, that person can ask us to get you on the phone and find out why. So we got an email about you from someone that you've been on a date. date with, but now you are not talking to him. Oh, man. Yeah. Oh, my God. I can't believe this is happening. Yeah. I mean, I know, I think I know who it is. Leslie. Uh, uh, Leslie.
Starting point is 00:11:24 He said, of course. Yeah, of course. Why? Of course. Hey, can you, do you mind telling us why you're ghosting her? Yeah. She stuck her finger in, and the hummus. And, is that hummus or not in her portion of the food? We're actually talking about actual hummus. That's what we needed to get up. Uh, yes, I'm, I'm talking about actual hummus, yes. Okay.
Starting point is 00:11:46 Okay. So how did she get her finger in there? Well, I had planned a date, right? And then I, um, uh, brought like a little picnic and we had hummus and it was like, uh, our community, like, hummus bowl. And she looked me dead in the eyes. She was just looking right at me. And then she just dragged her finger across it and then, like, licked it off. Like to be sexy?
Starting point is 00:12:09 Uh, um, I don't know, maybe. But I just think is, is it ever okay to, like, put your finger inside, like, a community bowl of hummus that people are eating when you have dirty hands? I guess that's kind of questionable. Depends on who, yeah, situational. Who are you with? So you just didn't like it, huh? No, I mean, I called her out on it. And she's like, oh, you know, you're so funny.
Starting point is 00:12:31 You're going to, I mean, literally verbatim. You're going to kiss me later anyway. What's the difference between my finger and my mouth? I mean, come on. Hello, ma'am. Look, I was being absolutely serious. And she had no idea that I would be serious. She thought I was joking, but I was being serious.
Starting point is 00:12:44 And so that's just another thing that I see. You know, she can't tell the difference between me being serious or not being serious. And she just goes in her own thing. It just proves that our communication is actually good in the future. Oh, okay. I'm sorry. Oh, my God, Neil, Neil, you're making it sound like, hi. Hi, guys.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Neil, that's Leslie. She's actually on the phone listing and wants to talk to you. Yeah, you're making it sound like I committed a crime, a literal crime. It was hummus. It's like not a felon. like I was being playful ever heard of it like on a date that's what you know let's okay playful it's not playful right I what would you call that's culinary assault is what I would call it oh come on oh come on oh hey it's not like I
Starting point is 00:13:26 just double dipped it was a one-time swipe one finger one leg boom like you're actually like this is a huge freaking deal yeah yeah yeah no just a farmless public health violation you're serious about this not Neil no it's not you can It's crazy. Don't throw us away over like literal hummus. This is pathetic. Like I'll literally buy you your own hummus, okay? Like a lifetime supply.
Starting point is 00:13:51 I don't care. You'll never have to share like a chickpee with me again. I swear. Come on. And that's another thing. I kind of would prefer a woman who kind of would stick to her guns about it, but you fold it so quickly over this thing. And buying me something isn't fixing the issue.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Oh, so I can't. I can't win. I can't win here. Like, if I am actually, like, saying to you, like, I'll make you happy and not eat hummus with you ever again. Like, you're now turning it on me. I literally, I'll wear gloves to dinner, okay? I'll eat with chopsticks only. I don't even care.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Okay, straws. I'll use straws. How about that? Whatever it takes, Neil, and you're, that's just me being committed. Okay. She really likes you, Neil. Yeah. I don't see it as her folding.
Starting point is 00:14:35 I see it as she likes you. Just compromising. Yeah. I don't know. I think the wishy watching is she's not really helping her case. Okay. You have to admit it, though. Come on.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Like, part of you thought it was hot. There was no way. Like, a woman being bold enough to claim her whole hummus bowl, that's passion. That's, like, that's dedication. No, that's bacteria. That's what that is. Oh. Please, come, I like, don't, is it so stupid that you're ghosting me over chickpeas?
Starting point is 00:15:03 Like, I actually really like you. Like, if it's doable on these guys, like, they'll tell you, like, I really like you. And I promise I'll never use my finger, okay? I promise. It's just like, this is ridiculous. Am I wrong? Oh, Leslie. Why is so laughing?
Starting point is 00:15:18 Oh, honey, you're really putting yourself out there. Neil, she really likes you. Yeah. Neil, would you like to go on another date with Leslie? We'll pay for it. No. Oh. She looks like a cat.
Starting point is 00:15:28 I'm out. What? That is not what happened. You guys, I was playful. I was pretending to go dared me to do it. That's funny. It was a joke. Leslie, you looked at me,
Starting point is 00:15:40 and you said, now it's our hum, that's not a joke. I don't know, that to me. That's a hostage situation. Look, I know funny. Yeah. Like, you call it a joke. That is not a joke.
Starting point is 00:15:51 You're not Dave Chappelle. That is, like, it wasn't funny. Nah, but, like, I'm quirky. Everyone tells me I'm corky, and I'm not, it's not that I'm unsanitary. I'm just corky, and I swear I'm not, like, usually a dip liquor.
Starting point is 00:16:03 Like, this isn't my deal. It's not my bag. You can't say not, usually and expect me to be comforted by that. What does that mean? You know, like, listen to me for a second. Like, don't listen to any of the noise in your head. Like, give me just, like, another chance.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Like, I'll buy you all the hummus you want. Like, I'll do it right now. I'm going to go to the grocery store anyway in, like, five minutes. And then I'll never even, I'll, like, never even look at a chickpeak again. Wow, she really wants to go out with you. Oh, okay, guys. So my love of life depends on the hummus band. No, no, thank you.
Starting point is 00:16:40 Jeeble's first date follow-up. Hello, it's Danielle Fischel. Writer Strong. And Wilfredel from PodMeets World.
