First Date Follow-Up. I think we're going to call today's First Date Follow-Up, Meat is Murder. What? Someone's dying? No, nobody's dying. You'll understand why I said that in just a second, because Levi is on the phone,

and he's not getting a call back from a girl named Kristen. And the reason that he thinks he's not getting a call back is hilarious to me, what he put in his email. Okay. We'll get to that in just a minute and why I said meet is murder. But first, let's meet Levi. Everybody say hi to Levi. Hi, Levi.

Hey, how's it going? Good, man. How are you? I'm doing all right. How are you? Not too bad. Thank you for asking. Probably better than you. Yeah. I didn't go out with someone on a date and not getting a call back from them, and I don't know why. Before we get into the reason you think you're not getting a call back, tell us a little bit about Kristen. How did you meet her? It's actually kind of weird. We met through comments of someone that we both kind of tangentially know on Instagram. We both commented on it and kind of went back and forth and then it

moved into direct messaging and then it moved into, hey, you want to meet up? I've never met anyone on Instagram before. It was weird. Oh, that's interesting. That's where me and my husband met. Very romantic story how we met. She posted something on her story, and I sent her a drooly face, and then it was off to the races. We got married the next day.

Good for you guys. Was the date good, though? Date? Well, yeah. I mean, there was a pretty substantial hiccup, but it was a fun date. I mean, we laughed a lot. Where did you guys go? We went to, you know, I was trying to find a place where we could go eat, where we could be safe and everything,

and picked my favorite steakhouse, not knowing that Kristen is a vegan. Oh, no. Is that the hiccup? That was the hiccup. It was a big one. She wound up having like a salad where she had to hold half the ingredients because it was like a chef's salad with bacon and egg and everything. I know. A steakhouse is not necessarily the best spot for a vegan,

and that's why I said meat is murder. It makes sense. I'm surprised that she didn't tell you or that you didn't know or something before planning that date. It's on, I should have asked. Well, I mean, like, are you vegan? Like, it's normal to ask, like, do you have food allergies? Yeah.

But are you vegan? You know? Did she seem bothered by that? You know, because I know some people who are vegan, it's not even just a food choice thing. It's a life thing. They get very offended by meat and cooked meat and delicious, delicious cooked meat.

They get very offended by it. Yeah, it's actually mostly for the animals and not their health. A lot of people are like that for being a vegan or vegetarian. If that was a part of it, she kept it quiet. She didn't say anything about that. So you actually had like a decent time on the date then? Yeah.

Like I said, we laughed a lot. It was good conversation. There weren't really any awkward silences other than when she realized there was nothing on the menu for her. Usually people who are vegetarian or vegan can find something really anywhere. Yeah, salad. They usually have some sort of option for it. Yeah, a steakhouse though would be pretty triggering, I feel like, for a vegan.

Yeah. Yeah, but that's the only thing I can think of. It seemed like a great date other than that, and that didn't seem like it really threw her that badly to have just completely written me off. How did the date end? Did you make any jokes about going back to your house and eating some meat or anything like that?

It was pleasant. I don't know. Pleasant is always a great description of ending a date. It was very pleasant. Such a neutral answer. So she didn't seem like, you know, she was really into it after. I mean, I guess I didn't really push it that hard to know whether she would have gone for more.

You know, we seemed to be having a great time at the beginning, and then kind of in the middle it seemed a little different, and then by the end of it, yeah, maybe a little out of it, not super into it. So how long has it been since your date, and how many times have you tried to reach out to her? It's been a little over a week

and I've called once and texted twice. Okay. You haven't been creepy. That's good. No response at all? None. Okay. Well, we will play a song, come back, and then see if we can figure it out for you, all right?

So you went out with Kristen, right? This girl that you didn't know was a vegan. You took her to a steak place and she had a salad and you think that's the reason that she's not calling you back. Yes. Yes.

Okay. Well, you know, sometimes at those steak places, they don't separate the food well enough. So sometimes they'll prepare something that was on a skillet or in a bowl that was prepared with meat. And if she's a vegan, maybe they did

that with her salad and she's been on the toilet for a week and a half. Maybe that's why. You know, that is a possibility I had not considered. Actually, well, but it doesn't really make much sense because then she'd probably be on her phone a lot because usually you're on your phone. Yeah, that's true. So, I don't know why she's not texting you back then. I'm out. I have no idea.

Maybe she just didn't like him. That's true too. That could have happened. Alright, well, I'm going to call her right now and see if we can figure out why she's not giving you a then. I'm out. Okay. Any idea why we might be calling you? No clue. Well, I'm calling you because we got an email about you from somebody who listens to the show. Okay. And his name is Levi.

Levi, okay. Ring bells? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah? Did you go on a date with Levi? I did. I did go on a date with Levi.

Well, Levi told us about that because he emailed the show. We do a segment on the show where if you go out on a date with someone and don't call them back, they can email us to get you on the phone and figure out what happened. And Levi emailed us because he said he really enjoyed his time with you, but now you're not calling

him back and he doesn't know what he did wrong. Right. Okay. So, you got a few minutes to maybe fill us in? I mean, I guess. Like, what do you hopefully know? Well, he said that you ghosted him, pretty much.

And we want to know why you're not calling him back. He thought it was the fact that you're a vegan, right? Yes, I am a vegan. And he actually took me to a steakhouse. Yeah, he told us. He told us that. He thinks that may be the reason you're not calling him back. Yeah, no, that wasn't it or anything.

He actually did something throughout the date that kind of like rubbed me the wrong way. He rubbed you the wrong way on your date? Is there a wrong way? No wonder. Yeah, what happened? What was he doing? So pretty much he was on his phone like the whole time. Like texting or something?

No, he wasn't texting or anything. He was actually on Instagram like the whole time. Really? What? Instagram? Like just scrolling through his feed? Yeah, just checking out what's going on on Instagram during your date? No, he was arguing with someone on the comment section of Kevin Hart's page.

What? Like, was he telling you that he was doing that? Yes, he would not shut up about it. That's so weird. That's so strange. He was arguing in the comment section of Kevin Hart's Instagram. I know, ridiculous, right? Yeah. Yeah. Do you know what he was arguing about? Yeah, that's Instagram. I know, ridiculous, right? Yeah.

Do you know what he was arguing about? Yeah, that's weird. I don't know. I think someone said that Kevin Hart was trash or something, and he got really upset about that. That is so bizarre. And he just couldn't let it go.

At dinner? He couldn't wait? Nope. And then what did you like when he was telling you that he was arguing with somebody in kevin hart's comment section what did you say back to him i was kind of just like oh okay like i mean like i think kevin hart's great but like other people have opinions about him. Like, you know, everybody's open to their own opinion. Maybe he could have argued later on when he wasn't on a date. I don't know why he had to do that right then and there. Yeah.

Yeah. And he was super fired up about it. Like he would not shut up about it. Just he was furious. Well, at least you know he's passionate. Yeah, that's true. All right. Levi is actually on the other line listening and wants to talk to you about kevin hart probably oh okay hey kristin hi levi uh sorry i i am very very sorry uh about paying so much attention to my phone. I just, you get the notification and it's just, it's right there on your mind. And I was afraid that if I didn't get it on the page, I wouldn't be able to focus on the date. Usually when you're on a date though, like you wait, especially if it's our first date. You don't go on your phone the whole time. You don't understand how ridiculous this guy whole time. Boo, I mean,

until after your date? Yeah, it was really rude. Like, I was trying to talk to you about something and you just kept, like, going back to the Kevin Hart thing. I just,

this is Kevin Hart's personal Instagram page. And I didn't want him to see something like that without at least one of his fans defending him. I didn't want there to be, I don't even think you'd probably see it. No. Kevin Hart logs on. So you're,

you're more worried about Kevin Hart's feelings than your date's feelings. Yeah. I mean, look, So you're more worried about Kevin Hart's feelings than your date's feelings? Yeah, I mean, look, I don't like the idea of Kevin Hart getting ripped on. And I thought Kristen was joining me in my fury over him being maligned like this. And I thought this was something that we were bonding over. Very noble of you, Levi. The only reason why I was responding to it is because you wouldn't stop talking about it and like I mean yeah we bonded over it for like a second but then it got kind of out of control where you just were going on a rant well yeah I know it was

bad it was a bad first date I apologize I made a mistake in the heat of the moment and I wouldn't do it again or take you to a steakhouse again. Let's see if Kristen will go out on another date with you. Kristen, will you go out on another date with Levi? We'll pay for it. I mean, if we do go to like a vegan restaurant, yeah, I'd give it another shot, but you can not be on your phone. Really? You'll go out again? Yeah, sure. I mean, you were cute. She said what?
