What if you asked two different people the same set of questions? Even if the questions are the same, our experiences can lead us to drastically different answers. I'm Minnie Driver, and I set out to explore this idea in my podcast, and now, Minnie Questions is returning for another season. We've asked an entirely new set of guests our seven questions, including Jane Lynch, Delaney Rowe, and Cord Jefferson. Listen to Minnie Questions on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:02:45 or wherever you get your podcasts. Seven questions, limitless answers. First date follow-up, powered by the Advocates Injury Attorneys, online at advocateslaw.com. Thomas is on the phone today for our first date follow-up, and he's getting ghosted by a woman named Nani. So in a few minutes, we'll call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him and maybe get him another date but first thomas what's up man how long has it been since you talked to nani uh it's been a couple days send the text no reply okay you sound bummed i really thought i nailed this date i thought this was the best date i ever made oh okay well why don't you tell us about the date then? We went to this night market. You know, it was this, like, pop-up mainstream thing.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Lots of food vendors and, like, you know, street art performers, that kind of stuff. And, you know, it was actually a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be, to be honest. She was taking pictures the whole time and, like, seemed to have a good time. Like, this is, like, a is like a total like Instagramable date. You know what I'm saying? Okay. So is she like an influencer or something? No, she's an insurance, but like business insurance.
Starting point is 00:03:57 I'm actually trying to start my own business this year. So I was, you know, hella interested in all her insurance knowledge, you know? Did you guys, I don't know, get close and flirty? Like, how did that vibe feel outside of the Instagrammable moments? I mean, I thought so. I mean, she's crazy hot, you know? I was so into her, like, mega, mega hot.
Starting point is 00:04:20 Like, I could look at this girl for a decade, you know? I thought she was feeling the same about me. Maybe she didn't get my humor or something, or my clothes weren't right. I don't really know what it was. How was the conversations during the date? I mean, I kept making jokes. I think she thought she was laughing on the inside. She's not a big laugher.
Starting point is 00:04:50 She's laughing on the inside. I was asking about her job. She's like, I'm trying to start this business next year. She's in business insurance. I had a lot of questions. I thought we were having a good rapport going. Did anything happen that was awkward on the date other than talking about business the whole time?
Starting point is 00:05:07 Maybe some of my jokes are over her head. I hope. There was one thing. It was bad. You know, I don't even want to talk about it on the radio. I'm just going to hope it wasn't that thing.
Starting point is 00:05:22 I'm not going to. You don't want to talk about what it was, but it's a safe place, Thomas. Well, I mean, let us be the judge. I don't want to talk about it. Okay. Whatever. That makes me feel like it's that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:37 I don't know. It's hard to, I just don't want to talk about it. I don't think it was that. It could have been that. Whatever. I don't want to. Can you just do don't think it was that. It could have been that. I don't want to. Can you just do this for us, Thomas? Was it perverted? Was it funny? Was it awkward?
Starting point is 00:05:53 No, it was a thing that just happened. It could have happened anyway. Let's move on. I don't want to talk about it. Did you pee your pants? I know, now my head's going to lot of... Just answer us that. I did not pee my pants. Okay.
Starting point is 00:06:08 You paused on that and made me think you did. All right. Well, we'll try to figure it out for you. Then we'll play a song, come back and then call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting you and maybe get you another date. All right. Let's do this. Okay. We'll play a song, come back and get your first day follow-up next. The Indicator is a podcast where daily economic news is about what matters to you. And we're guessing most days, that's money. Workers have been feeling the sting of inflation. So as a new administration promises action on the cost of living, taxes, and home prices. The S&P 500 biggest post-election day spike ever.
Starting point is 00:06:45 Follow all the big changes and what they mean for you. Make America affordable again. Listen to The Indicator from NPR on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get podcasts. Right in the middle of your first day in follow-up, if you're just joining us, Thomas is on the phone, and he's getting ghosted by Nani. We're about to call her and see if she'll tell us why she's ghosting him. But first, Thomas, why don't you refresh everybody's memory on your situation?
Starting point is 00:07:14 We had a good date at the night market, you know, taking pictures a little time, having a good time. I thought we were connecting. She's beautiful. I'm way into Nani, and I don't know why she goes to me. Okay. There's one thing I think it could be and if it's that, then whatever.
Starting point is 00:07:33 But I don't, I'm hoping it's not that thing. It's something else and maybe we can work through this. You don't want to talk about it so it makes us feel like it is that thing. Yeah, you said it was bad. If you knew, you'd understand.
Starting point is 00:07:44 It's a story, but I forgot you even said it. Okay. Well, maybe she'll tell us thing. Yeah, you said it was bad. If you knew you'd understand, just don't worry about it. I forgot you said it. Well, maybe she'll tell us then. Yeah, we'll see. Alright, you ready for us to call her? Let's do it. Okay, here we go. hello hi may i speak to nani please this is her hey how are you my name is jubel i'm calling from a radio show it's called the jubel show hi nani my name is nina also on the show hi and i'm victoria how are you oh hi hi i'm fine what's going name's Nina, also on the show. Hi, and I'm Victoria. How are you? Hi. Hi. I'm fine. What's going on? Have you ever listened
Starting point is 00:08:28 to the show before? Yeah. Yeah, I've listened before. Have you ever heard a first date follow-up before? Oh, God. Yeah. Yeah, I actually have. Awesome. Great. Would you like to be on one? Okay. Yeah. I guess I should have saw this coming yeah sure
Starting point is 00:08:46 you are anyway you're ghosting somebody and they emailed us because they want to know why you're ghosting them do you know who it is uh i mean it has to be thomas yes it is you got it right do you mind telling us about thomas like why you're ghosting him uh okay here you okay some of his greatest hits um first thing he said to me he said oh damn you're hotter than the internet which was flattering but like a lot that was his first comment okay that's kind's kind of funny. Okay. Let's hear more. Okay. He commented on my shoes four times, even to the point of asking me if I needed to take them off, which reminded me of, like, I don't know, like, a teacher, a parent.
Starting point is 00:09:39 I don't know. It was like, leave my shoes alone. It was a lot. He was, like, tall enough, like, it shouldn't have mattered. I thought, like, maybe that, who cares? He used so much attention to my shoes alone. It was a lot. He was like tall enough. Like it shouldn't matter. And I thought like, maybe that, who cares? He has so much attention to my shoes.
Starting point is 00:09:49 Like it was a lot. Does he have like a foot fetish? Oh my God. I didn't even think of that. I mean, if you're trying to get somebody's shoes off real quick, that tells me something. Oh no.
Starting point is 00:10:01 He also just carried on and on and on about this new business like let's not kid ourselves this dude's not starting a business like uh and then okay about 34,857 times throughout the night he commented on the other women at the market they weren't nearly as hot as i was and like i started to get a little embarrassed. It was embarrassing. It was gross, honestly. So no, dude's not it. I mean, that can definitely be a little awkward.
Starting point is 00:10:33 At least he wasn't saying they're hotter than you. Oh, that's true. So it wasn't because I farted on you at all? What? Oh my God, are you serious? Cut that, cut that. No, don't use that. Thomas is Oh, my God. Are you serious? Hang on. Cut that. Cut that.
Starting point is 00:10:46 No, don't use that. Thomas is actually on the phone listening and wants to talk to you. You can't cut it now, Thomas. You said it. I guess you cut it that night, too. Cut that part. Cut that part. I don't want that out there.
Starting point is 00:10:57 I wasn't even going to bring that up, but, like, yeah, he did fart. Like, on you, though? How did that happen? It was like, we were sitting there, and he was talking about my shoes. Yeah, he gets real excited about feet, apparently. Okay, this is confusing. So, you asked her to take off her shoes and then farted on her? I thought they were nice shoes.
Starting point is 00:11:20 We all know nice shoes can get uncomfortable. I was trying to be courteous. I know. Okay. How did you fart on her? I just, I banged over. I just, come on. We don't got to talk about that.
Starting point is 00:11:32 Come on, come on. Okay, all right, all right, all right. It happened to me, so it happens to the best of us. But that wasn't the reason. Yeah. I mean, was it? That's one of the reasons. That's one of the reasons. Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:11:43 I mean, you were embarrassed. No. It didn't help his cause, I guess. No. If it's something I can't control, then whatever. I guess, whatever. I was complimenting you, though. I was just trying to make you feel seen and secure.
Starting point is 00:11:57 If it wasn't for our thing, I mean, come on. You definitely made me feel seen. It was a lot. Like, those other women, like, I think they heard you saying that I was hotter than them. And that's, like, embarrassing, bro. How is that embarrassing?
Starting point is 00:12:16 You're hot. Hot people don't get embarrassed. They're hot. I'm saying you're hot. What? Nani, would you like another date with Thomas? We'll pay for it. No, I'm saying you're hot. What? Nani, would you like another date with Thomas? We'll pay for it. No, I'm good.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Thanks, though. They'll pay for it. Yeah, we'll pay for it. Thanks, Thomas. He'll probably tell you you're hot again. You guys, the fart was bad. Like, no. Yeah, all right.
Starting point is 00:12:39 I really want to go out again, but just, you know, know this. I'll always think you're hot. If you want to go on a date with someone who thinks you're hot, I'm here because I think you're hot. Thanks. Thanks. I appreciate that. Thomas, thanks. Jubal's first date follow-up.
