Starting point is 00:02:13 First date follow-up, powered by the advocates injury attorneys, online at advocateslaw.com. Evie is on the phone today for a first date follow-up, and she's getting ghosted by a guy named Thomas. So in a few minutes, we're going to call him and see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting her and maybe get her a second date. if she still wants one. But, Evie, why do you think that Thomas is ghosting you? You know, I'm not sure, but I'm thinking that he may think that I'm a gold digger. Okay. Why would he think that?
Starting point is 00:02:47 Okay. Well, so we had, like, what I thought. I thought it was a really fun day. Like, we met for coffee and wandered around. We ended up just like walking through the mall. And like, I don't know. I thought it was so good. Like it was really flirty.
Starting point is 00:03:09 And we like, I don't know, we even kind of had a little makeout session. And, yeah, like, which was fun. There was a lot of chemistry. And then we, you know, like we stopped in a Victoria's Secret. And like I got on some lingerie. Oh, no, right. This is your first date? Wow.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But we were just like, oh my God. Like, what if we go do this thing? Like, that'd be fun. Okay. And, like, he like came in to like, you know, help make sure it looked okay and fit, right?
Starting point is 00:03:41 Wink, wink, wink. And, like, we had a little makeout session in, like, the dressing room. Like, it was really cute, right? Okay. Yeah. That's definitely a memorable first date. Yeah. I mean, that's kind of hot.
Starting point is 00:03:52 Yeah. Well, like, okay. So I was like, okay, this is, like, going so well. But the reason why I think that maybe he's, you. He thinks I'm trying to be a gold digger and isn't, like, interested is because I know he has a really good job. He makes good money. And I was, so, like, I picked out this laundry set that was really cute that I wanted.
Starting point is 00:04:13 And I was totally going to buy it, but I completely, like, I left. I actually did leave my credit card at home. And so he paid for me for it for me. Oh, you're thinking maybe he thought you were acting like you left him home, just trying to get free stuff. Yeah. Yeah. And so I like, I want to, you know, be honest and, like, clear the air and, like, make sure he doesn't think that. Because I really liked him and really liked our date.
Starting point is 00:04:37 Evie is on the phone and she's getting ghosted by a guy named Thomas. So we're about to call him and see if he'll tell us why he's ghosting her and maybe get her a second date. But first, Evie, remind us again why you think you might be getting ghosted. I think I might be getting ghosted because I think Thomas thinks I'm trying to be a gold digger, even though I'm not. I promise. We went to the mall, we walked around. I tried all lingerie, and he ended up buying it for me because I left my credit card at home. Okay.
Starting point is 00:05:09 And you think that he might think that was just an excuse for you to get free stuff? Correct. All right. Well, are you ready for us to call him? I am, yeah. Okay, here we go. Hello? Hi, man, speak to Thomas, please.
Starting point is 00:05:28 Yeah, this is him. Hey, Thomas, how are you? This is a radio show. It's called The Jubal Show. Hi, Thomas. I'm Nina. Hi, I'm Victoria. And my name is Jubal.
Starting point is 00:05:36 How are you? Hey. Okay. Yeah, what's up, Gus? Why are you calling me? Have you ever heard of the show before? I'm sorry. No, I haven't.
Starting point is 00:05:48 All right. That's cool. That's fine. You can check out our podcast if you want to wherever we get your podcast. It's fine. Just type in the Juble show. That's all you got to do. But anyway, we're calling you today because we do a segment on the show.
Starting point is 00:05:59 It's called the first date follow-up. That's where if you go out on a date with somebody and you end up ghosting them, they can email us to get you on the phone and ask why you're ghosting them, and we got an email about you from somebody. Okay, that's awkward, but... Do you know who would email us? Like, are you ghosting somebody that you know? I mean, are we on the radio right now?
Starting point is 00:06:25 Yes. I don't know, man. I don't... It's weird to just call me. up. Yeah. I mean, well, you know, somebody really wants to know why you won't call him back. They liked you a lot.
Starting point is 00:06:39 Her name is Evie. And she called you? Yes. She emailed us. We talked to her a little bit about your date. She said it was about three weeks ago. You haven't talked to her since. And she's wondering if you will tell us.
Starting point is 00:06:53 All right. Yeah, sure. Yeah, I know, Evie. Okay, cool. So what happened? Yeah. So, you know, we went to. to mall. We were flirting back and forth.
Starting point is 00:07:04 And, you know, we went to the Victoria's Secret and she tried on some lingerie. I bought it for her, you know? Yeah, she told us about that. She thinks that you might be ghosting her because she had you pay for it. And you might think she's a gold digger. You know, I, honestly, guys, I didn't care about buying the lingerie. I'm embarrassed to say, yeah, I am kind of ghosting her, but buying the lingerie, that was kind of part of the plan.
Starting point is 00:07:36 What do you mean? This is so, okay, so I set up the date in the whole situation because my ex works across from that Victoria's secret. And I thought if she saw me with another woman buying her lingerie, and might make her jealous and we'd start talking again. Wow. That's worse. You set the whole situation up just to see if your ex would see you guys there.
Starting point is 00:08:05 I mean, you know, it works and me and my ex are back together. Oh. What? Hey, Thomas, that's Evie. She's actually on the phone listening and wants to talk to you. Okay, well, I assume there was some kind of scheme going on here because the radio called me. I don't know if it's a scheme, but. I mean, it sounds like I'm being trapped for something.
Starting point is 00:08:33 People can't. You're being trapped. for lying to me and using me as a pawn and you're not going to get your ex. I don't know why you're talking to the radio. I haven't got back to you. I don't know why you would bring these people in that I don't know. Why is he being so defensive? This is insane.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Did you guys hear what he just said? Yeah, because I'm kind of surprised, man. You buy a woman lingerie. That's an intimate thing. And then just to disappear after you got to experience the lingerie in a dressing room, I think at the very, very least, you can be like, sorry, I'm back together with my ex now that I just saw you in lingerie and bought it for you. Like, that's an intimate thing.
Starting point is 00:09:07 Or I can just do what I'm doing. You want a radio station call me for no reason. You want me to buy you some lingerie too? God, no, I'll buy my own. Thank you. What? Okay, well, now I realize that you're actually a horrible person. And, you know what?
Starting point is 00:09:26 Are you crazy one calling the radio to talk to somebody who didn't even try to talk back to you? What are you talking about a horrible person? You're the crazy one that tried to set up your ex. What in the world? Okay, yeah. little boys on there too what in the world you guys are all together doing this little scheme and i don't know you i'm the only person i know is evie and i got four people talking to me about somebody i wasn't trying to talk to all right evie you take the four uh i mean i'm like
Starting point is 00:09:53 i'm frankly so shocked by list that like that is insane i thought we had a really good time and we had chemistry and i'm now learning that this entire thing was just a scheme to get your ex back Like, that is so messed up to do that to me and to do that to her. Like, somebody needs to save this girl from you. Somebody needs to save you. What? Somebody needs to save you. A guy didn't call you back.
Starting point is 00:10:24 And here we are. Wow. Even you did get saved without having to deal with this fool. Yeah. I mean, I definitely got my answer. You are a school. and I'm so glad that I never have to speak to you again after this. So actually, thank you for doing that.
Starting point is 00:10:42 I really helped. Whoa, I have to ask. Thomas, would you like another date with Evie? We'll pay for it. I don't need, I don't know. I don't need any connection to you guys. I don't need any connection to her. I don't need your money.
Starting point is 00:10:53 I could buy her lingerie. I could pay for a date. I could buy all your crew lingerie. I don't know why you guys are doing this. You know, you guys call me all this, and I know this didn't work out the way you guys planning, and I was trying to be 90. and I didn't want to talk about doing all this.
Starting point is 00:11:07 But the only one whose plan worked out was mine. That's what I did what I had to do to get my ex back. We're back together. We're happy now. I'm sorry that your butt hurt about that. And I'm sorry that we're wasting these people's time. You know what, Thomas? You haven't heard the last of me.
Starting point is 00:11:29 From this moment on, for the rest of your life, you better look over your shoulder when you're sleeping. You've got to have one eye open. When you got to work, you better look in the rearview mirror. When you're making sweet, sweet love to your precious girlfriend, you never know when I'm going to pop up. And trust me, Thomas, I will pop up. You f*** the wrong girl.
Starting point is 00:11:55 Yoikes. Hey, Thomas, she hung up. So I guess she's not going anywhere.
